BatteryChem 0610786-995 Battery Rejuvenator

BatteryChem 0610786-995 Battery RejuvenatorI used these packets on my 48v golf cart. It has six 8v batteries so I bought 4 packs to give me the 4x6 = 24 packets that I needed for the job. In all honesty, I didn't have the equipment to test the batteries first like the instructions say (hydrometer, etc.). I simply dumped a pack in each cell of each battery and capped them back up. Done. My batteries all measured within about 0.1 volts of one another so I already believed the batteries were in good enough shape to rejuvenate. I figured 4 packs (of six packets) of this cost less than even a single battery so I didn't have much to lose to try this. Long story short: it appears to have worked. My batteries were lasting maybe 50% as long as they did when I first got them and after the treatment, I'd say they're back to at least 80%... and I would say that's a conservative estimate: maybe even better than 80%. How long it will last, I don't know but for now, I'm happy with this product. I took only one star off because, while the batteries do last almost as long as they did new, it didn't restore the original amount of "torque". In other words, I think this stuff restores the battery's capacity but not necessarily the max "instantaneous" amperage that they delivered when new. So it's like having almost-new batteries but maybe ones with slightly lower CCA (cold cranking amps).

This is nice stuff. It really worked well in my battery that just went beyond warranty. Buy it and try it.

I was reading the reviews of these other people saying that this stuff is total garbage and was very surprised. I bought this in hopes of restoring some life back into my Toyota Tacoma's Interstate Battery. I bought the battery new like 10 years ago and over the last 2 years it started dying. More and more sluggish starts, wouldn't start at all on freezing cold winter mornings, it got to where i would leave a charger on it overnight and that would keep it charged for like 2-3 days before slowly starting to get sluggish on starts again. As Interstate batteries are extremely expensive (yes i know i got 8 good years out of it) but the fact that it still showed some life to it i thought i'd give this stuff a try. Obviously by the fact i left 5 stars for this product you can tell i had surprisingly good results from this. I did like the directions stated by putting 1 small pouch (this comes with 6 pouches, 1 for each cell) in each of the 6 cells and then topped off each cell to the appropriate level with distilled water and put the battery charger on the battery for like 24 hours. Well folks my battery is doing unbelievably great, i bought this product from Amazon on December 11, 2011 and my truck still hasn't needed to be put back on the charger since. The starts are fast and crisp, EVEN on cold freezing mornings. This tells me that my batteries cells weren't dead but just corroded with crud that just builds up on the cells over time, but this stuff dissolves that corrosion on cells restoring life back into the cells. Now don't get me wrong i'm quite sure this isn't going to fix a completely toasted battery but if your battery was like mine nearing the end of it's life then this is the stuff for you. I can only speak from my own experience that's why i'm saying that i don't think it will help batteries that are completely dead, just ones that are starting to to die.

It's a completely useless product contrary to the claim that the vendor made about it.

I would strongly suggest people not wasting their money on it.

Want BatteryChem 0610786-995 Battery Rejuvenator Discount?

I ordered and tried this product. I simply did nothing claimed. It was a total wasted of my money and time. It's very likely my battery was a total failure and NOTHING could restore it. But this simply did nothing except make a more expensive dead battery. That was my experience. I don't recommend this product because it's too close to voodoo science for my taste. I could be completely off base here, so take this review with a grain of aspirin. Or salt.

***Update at the end: READ THE UPDATE AFTER THE REVIEW!***

While the car alarm/remote start system works well, I have had nothing but a bad experience from this remote.

Pros:

-The remote does have a feature that disables the 2-way communication and saves battery life

Cons:

-Every time I change the batteries, the back door breaks or the remote plastic breaks. I duct tape the back door back on, but it will buzz in your pocket every so often. My daughter calls it "angry keys."

-The remote battery life is around 2-3 months...have fun changing the batteries.

-I always find the remote accidentally activating something because the keys press extremely easily against my car key...the only other key on my key chain.

Recommendations:

-The Viper developer needs to make some type of case cover for this remote to prevent it from accidentally unlocking or starting the vehicle.

Update:

There is now an upgrade to this FOB: Essentials 7254V Directed Audio Essentials Viper Responder Le 2-way Led Remote. That FOB has resolved the battery issue as there is no more back panel but rather the face is removable. It may be more sturdy and I will provide a review over time. The buttons are also stiffer for the purpose to resolve the buttons being accidentally pushed. The replacement has better reviews and the battery life cannot be adjusted without a complete redesign, but the other flaws may have been resolved. I'm expecting a 4-5 star review on that FOB in about 4 months or so.

I had called Viper to get a replacement and they gave me 3 numbers of authorized dealers in my area. I called all three and they gave me a price of around $85 for the remote and then told me it would be $50 to $65 to program the remote, acting like this was some big deal. OK, first programming the remote is simple and takes less than 5 minutes to do. It is just opening a car door, turning on the ignition, pushing the button on the control center(the receiver in the corner of the windshield) one time and then pushing it again and holding it until the alarm horn sounds and the LED blinks on the control center. Then you follow the directions on pushing various buttons on the remote which put in in program mode and then set the lock button so the alarm reacts, then just a simple push of one or two more buttons on the remote to close the program mode and you are finished. It isn't brain surgery, or anything they should even charge for, the directions are right in the pack and easy to follow. I went almost five months with a dead alarm system because I thought the repair price was crazy, glad I looked on Amazon and found this replacement and did it myself.

I've been using this remote for the past 2 years and love it. The only problem (which others have mentioned) is the sensitivity of the buttons. BUT, if you READ THE MANUAL you will find that you can lock the buttons so you don't accidentally start you car when you don't want to, among other things if you have additional modules installed.

My only complaint is the battery life is pretty low, around 3 5 months. I ended up buying 30 of the CR2016 batteries on amazon for about $5 and still have about 20 or so left over. (Uses 2 batteries at a time)

I really have to disagree with the previous post.

Pros:

Great design! This remote is easy to use and designed to fit comfortably in your hand. It's hard to believe that the battery life for this remote only lasted for 2-3 months for the first guy. I have been using my remote on a regular basis for little over a year now and have yet to replace the battery (my remote is still going strong BTW). On the topic of battery life, my signal is strong enough for me to still start my car up from a block away.

Cons:

The remote is hard to lock, and can occasionally start the car up from inside your pocket. This can be the only major problem for the remote. However, I am used to clipping my car keys to my belt, so I rarely experience this problem.

All in all this item is GREAT.

Outdoor Tech ADAPT Bluetooth Adapter for 3.5mm Devices (Black)

Outdoor Tech ADAPT Bluetooth Adapter for 3.5mm Devices
  • Bluetooth adapter for 3.5mm devices
  • Wirelessly connects headphones and stereos to Bluetooth-enabled devices
  • Includes a built-in mic
  • 9 hours of talk/listen time; 30-Feet distance
  • Measures 1.25 x 0.63 x 1.75 Inches

I've been considering a pair of bluetooth headphones for a while. My iPhone is my work phone, and I was tired of having to pause my music in my Grados to answer a call on speakerphone because my iPhone was docked. (I was listening to audio via the Mac, not the iPhone.

Now, I'm listening to audio from the phone via bluetooth, and when a call comes in, I tap the button on the ADAPT and answer the call. Much cheaper than buying a new pair of dedicated bluetooth headphones.

My one concern is how the battery holds up over time.

-----

Update: Still think the audio quality is great and that this is a good product. My only issue after a few weeks with it is that sometimes callers complain about audio quality of my voice when I'm using it.

Buy Outdoor Tech ADAPT Bluetooth Adapter for 3.5mm Devices (Black) Now

Just got it yesterday and tried it for 7 hours non-stop on 3 different devices. So far, I'm very happy with it. The OT Adaptor does exactly what it said on paper. Suddenly, all my old speakers and headsets became alive again.

The package only contain the adaptor, USB power cable and instruction manual. There's no power charger but that's not a problem since the USB cable can be used with any standard charger that came with phones, tablets or other bluetooth devices. If there's nothing available, you still can plug it into a computer's standard USB ports.

The instruction is very straight forward and in English only. But this is a very simple device. The forward, backward, volume+/are very basic. The only thing to learn is how to use the center button (they called it multi functional button which is quite accurate). Hold it for couple seconds to turn on/off with blue/red light indicators (blue is on, red is off). Hold it longer than that and the adaptor will go into pairing mode with blue/red indicators flashing simultaneously. To take calls/hang up, tab the center button once. To pause music/movie, tab the same button once while the music/movie was playing. Very very simple to the point of no learning curve at all.

The design of the device is ok. It doesn't get all futuristic or head turner gorgeous but It feels really nice and solid in the hand despise the very compact size. However, it would be better to have more color to choose from.

My only complains are 1. There's no way to check battery level. Most of my bluetooth devices has a way or two to check the battery level either by pressing a button on the device or use another software to show battery level on my phones. This problem can be fix via software upgrade so I hope OT will come up with a solution in the future. 2. What's with a proprietary USB power cable. All my other devices including phones, headsets, tablets, speakers even my portable router use micro USB so I only need to carry one cable and a charger. I was very disappointed when I saw the OT adaptor came with their own design USB cable. Shouldn't be that hard to replace the port on the device and use micro USB instead. I saw other companies did this before but finally realize their mistake and switch to micro USB. Hopefully OT would do the same.

The battery last long. much longer than my bluetooth headsets. I was wondering at first if I had to clip the adaptor on my shirt when making a call so the microphone will pickup my voice better but designed to clip it on my pants' pocket like they did on their website and it still works great.

Hopes this help

More: After been using it for about a week, I still found new ways to use this adaptor. First, I connected it to my car's aux port using an aux cable. The adaptor turned the car stereo into a bluetooth which was nice. Second, I connected the adaptor to my office stereo and control all the musics using my phone. The battery actually last 7 hours.

Two more complain is that it's a little hard to turn it on. Sometime I had to hold the center button a little longer and it still wasn't turn on. Another complain is the microphone quality. I've got complain from the other end said that my voice wasn't clear. Still happy with overall performance.

It is an awsome concept. I love being able to have this free me from direct connection to the handset, plus to be able to use my own high quality buds! with that said Outdoor Tech please note:

-The device has volume limitations so you cannot truly 'jam'

-takes a loooong time to pair even after initial paring...

-there are consistent 'breaks' in songs/video sound even though the iphone/ipad is right next to the ADAPT and fully charged as is the iphone/iPad

-people on calls were consistently complaining that the reception on my end was poor. again the phone was 3 feet away on my desk

Have others had similar experiences?

For its tiny size and weight, this adapter is amazing. Clip it to your pocket or shirt and use any set of headphones or ear buds you wish. Use the supplied audio cable to connect to your nearby stereo system from your smart phone, and do other flexible things with it. Easy, fast charge (2 hours or so) from any USB port, and the charge has so far lasted about 12 hours of intermittent play time for me through the last few weeks, and still going strong. Read the brief instruction sheet carefully regarding on/off, pairing, answering a phone call (if you're using a smart phone), etc. All of it is done with the one multi-function button in the middle (and its little green and red lights). That is not a criticism, but a comment that reflects today's trend toward master control buttons that have to do "everything" to save space. You just have to get used to it. I have already recommended this thing to others. It's great, and the price is cheap for all its capabilities.

I've just tested this bluetooth gadget for two days on my ski helmet. It works great. The challenge with getting tunes into your helmet is finding a good set of earphone inserts AND a good way to control the music device, while also allowing you to get to the controller easily. The earphone inserts aren't that hard to locate. I used both the Skullcandy dropins and the Red_Phones from Burton. They have essentially the same audio quality in the helmet, and also have standard 3.5mm jacks and cables to connect to your device.

Controlling your music device, in my case an iPhone 4s, is a little more difficult. The Red_Phones only allow you to control volume and have a simple mute button, so you can't move tracks forward or back, and can't pause a song. The Skullcandy controller lets you change volume and tracks, but the button on the controller is very sensitive, and I found it a real pain to use accurately. And with both units you still have a wire from your helmet snaking somewhere inside your coat to the player. Not a big problem, but I'd rather have nothing connecting the helmet to the jacket.

So after way too much research, I began looking into bluetooth devices that would be small enough to attach to my helmet, and still allow easy controls for the phone. I stumbled across the ADAPT adapter, and for $40 thought I'd give it a try.

I spent two full days with the adapter, and clipped it to a variety of places on my jacket collar, goggle headband, and finally on the earpad of the helmet itself. Mounted there, the unit is always easy to find. The buttons are still a bit too small to operate when I have gloves on, but it was really easy to slip off my glove and adjust volume, tracks, even answer my phone with the built-in microphone.

The real beauty, in my opinion, is how clean the connection between the headphone inserts and the adapter becomes. The thing weighs practically nothing, and now I'm free of wires. I'm very happy.

The sound quality seems the same as when I had the wired versions working, perhaps a bit less loud at full volume. The adapter paired with the iPhone pretty easily, and the connection didn't drop once in my weekend of use. Also, I had read that the buttons might freeze up in the cold, but today was 8 degrees and windy. No problem with the buttons at all.

I'll try to post photographs of this elegant hookup on the product page somewhere. It's a simple and lovely installation.

Whistler XTR-140 Laser/Radar Detector with Exclusive Twin Alert Periscopes

Whistler XTR-140 Laser/Radar Detector with Exclusive Twin Alert Periscopes
  • Complete band coverage of all Laser, Radar, VG-2, and Safety Radar bands
  • Exclusive Twin Alert Periscope provides an added attention-getting visual alert
  • Easy-to-read icon display indicates power, city mode, band identification, and signal strength
  • Three unique city modes and highway mode to reduce false alarms
  • Patented VG-2 cloaking technology for undetectability

I was extremely skeptical about the performance of a $40 detector, but after a few recent road trips, I am convinced this is actually a well functioning product. Although it does not have exceptional filtering ability for false signals, it can still give you enough X/K/Ka warning for you to slow down in time.

The two blue LED's are a great innovation, because you can easily see them out of the corner of your eye. This is extremely useful when your radio drowns out the audible signals, or when the sun washes out the primary letter warning lights.

You simply can't go wrong with the price. It does not have the features of the top of the line detectors (coiled power cord, voice alert, text readout, settings save, compass, etc), yet it has at its core the most important feature: the basic detection ability to provide enough warning for the driver.

Buy Whistler XTR-140 Laser/Radar Detector with Exclusive Twin Alert Periscopes Now

i purchased the xtr 140 and it has been great so far, from what ive read the 330 has voice alerts and thats the only main difference. higher end radars have alot more features (compass, volt meter, aarows, pop detection etc) but none of that matters to me, i just wanted a radar detector that works. usually i find myself drifting 12 or so mph over the posted limit in the city and it gives me plenty of time to stop. besides a blip of ka when i pass a walgreens or cvs (if you are pointed at the doors its a full alert) the city 2 mode is pretty quiet. then again i can barely hear the radar when it goes off with the radio on so the lights come in handy to get my attention

i bought the 140 model because it was cheap but still accurate. i really dont care about a 3-4 mile range of detection because with instant off and instant on even a v1 cant save you if you are alone on the road. no one uses POP radar and im not going to pay another $50 for a feature im not going to use, and in the city there are so many cars on the road that i can pick up a trap in more than enough time to react.

************update 10/2/09***************

i have had this detector for about two years now and it has yet to disappoint me. however after owning it for about a year i felt the need to splurge and purchase a higher end unit, the whistler pro 78 rev c. i thought that my top tier purchase would blow my old xtr140 out of the water, but suprisingly the performance was nearly identical. however with the pro 78 you get to select what functions you want enabled or disabled.

in short i have to stick to my original review

pros:

i have gotten over a mile detection of a K band speed trap

i have also gotten slightly over a mile detection on k/a band

very clear display

VERY cheap

cons:

lacks internal memory. doesnt save settings

"chatty" on k and specifically x band. it will pick up your cvs walgreens everytime. its best to run city II mode if you do heavy city driving

i still recommend this product to anyone when they talk about speeding tickets. always gives me plenty of time for radar alerts

the whistler also has that signal strength meter, where as i believe the cobra does not. i have a cobra esd6060 and this whistler destroys it in detection distance

Read Best Reviews of Whistler XTR-140 Laser/Radar Detector with Exclusive Twin Alert Periscopes Here

Nice quality. No nonsense.

Picks up some stray X from industrial parks or commercial buildings occasionally in Highway mode if buildings are adjacent to interstate, BUT these signals easily discerned giving only one bar on strength meter, and a couple warning only chirps.

However, first night out, I had my unit reach three bars, light up the entire display like a Christmas tree, blip the periscopes constantly, basically seemed like the thing was going to implode ("scary"), and then I saw the cop! He was about 3/4 mile away, opposite side of interstate facing me with a victim pulled over, lights flashing.

Caught him a second time while exiting an off ramp in a hotel parking lot perpendicular to me prior to that with another victim! "Big, bad, Dodge Hemi" cruiser, all painted up with intimidating graphics. "Big bad", muscle car, chase car with undoubtedly the latest radar.

All I know is that this little $38 Whistler "smells" his butt a mile away like a geiger counter detecting radiation! He hangs in the same geographic area around my workplace constantly busting people (a real worka"ho"lic), but now I can "smell" him a mile away for $38!

Me like!

Want Whistler XTR-140 Laser/Radar Detector with Exclusive Twin Alert Periscopes Discount?

I recently bought this detector for my wife since she racked up a few tickets lately, and it has blown me away! I have an older Whistler 1545 detector that is pushing 10 years old now, and this one destroys it (even though the old one cost twice as much). The blue lights are a real attention-getter and the volume dial is a treat (something my old one doesn't have one). This baby picks up waaay farther than my old unit. It picked up a county Sheriff last night over half a mile away, over a HILL! It also caught the splash back from one of the automated radar warning signs they park on the highway (the "Your Speed Is__" things). We were coming up to it, it was 100 yards ahead of us facing oncoming traffic (away from us), and the detector caught the reflected radar waves bouncing off the oncoming trucks. Unbelievable. You would expect his level of performance in the $100-$200 detectors, but not from one that was under 40 bucks. This baby is a real gem.

Needless to say, I am buying another one to replace my old Whislter! Highly recommended.

Pros: Inexpensive, easy set-up, user friendly, exceptional performance.

Cons: None yet.

It's almost exactly the same as my old Whistler 1732 radar detector. The only pluses are the blue lights stand out at night, but you can't even see them in the daytime. Also, the 3rd city mode lets you get rid of the X band which almost no police use anymore anyway so it cuts down the false alerts by at least 80%.Worth it, although everything resets everytime so that sucks almost enough to want to buy the next model up.But for now it will work. Also it's way bigger than my old one.Not bad though for 40 bucks.

Roadpro 12V Hot Pot, 20 oz.

Roadpro 12V Hot Pot, 20 oz.I bought this hot pot, along with a 4-pack of Melitta Ready, Set Joe kits, for a road trip during which stopping for coffee, tea and hot chocolate was not an option. My executive summary of the product is that it works well (and, for those wondering about product longevity, still works even after multiple uses) and that it can boil water. We're very happy with it.

Read on to find out why I give the product 4 stars instead of 5.

The product description could do a better job of managing customer expectations. While this hot pot will boil water, it does take 35 minutes or so to bring a full 20 ounces of it to a boil. This isn't due to any defect in the product's design. It has everything to do with the fact that a car's 12-volt, direct current electrical system isn't made for high-wattage appliances. My minivan can supply up to 120W per outlet, i.e., up to 10A at 12VDC, which is not very much, and I assume this is fairly standard. In contrast, conventional hot pots draw 3-5 times as much power from household current, which is why they boil water faster.

Other than that, my few gripes about this hot pot are:

1. It comes with a mounting bracket, but no instructions that might give an inkling on how one might use it to attach the hot pot to anything on the inside of your vehicle. We ended up discarding the bracket and placing the hot pot on our center console, which is flat, as well as several other flat surfaces we created. But this requires somebody to watch the hot pot while the vehicle is in motion.

2. The lid and removable drinking cup sit on top of the pot, but don't snap or screw on. So this hot pot is NOT spillproof. See #1 above, and understand that if it tips over while it's in use, somebody might get hurt.

3. The exterior of the pot gets quite hot to the touch during use (although the handle stays nice and cool), so trying to hold it to prevent it from spilling is a bad idea.

4. The inside of the pot quickly builds up scaling from the minerals left behind when water evaporates. There's no way to reach in there with any kind of a brush to clean that out, and the interior surfaces would probably be damaged by such a brush anyway. I recommend filling the pot with white vinegar and soaking it for an hour or so after every trip to keep the scaling under control.

5. Despite what the product description says, don't even think of making soup, hot chocolate or any other prepared food in this hot pot. You will never be able to get the interior clean again if you do. Stick with instant drink and soup mixes, use a mug or bowl and pour the boiling water from the pot into your mug or bowl in order to make these foods.

6. There's no spout, and it's difficult to pour without spilling, so do be careful.

To help put the 20-ounce capacity into perspective:

1 standard mug holds about 10 ounces of liquid.

A typical travel mug holds 12-14 ounces.

A normal size disposable bowl holds 12 ounces.

A large size disposable bowl holds 20 ounces.

A normal size packet of hot chocolate requires 6 ounces of water and gives you about 8 ounces of hot chocolate.

As annoying as these shortcomings may sound, they're minor compared with the comfort and convenience of being able to have real, high-quality coffee (that's what the Ready, Set, Joe kits were for!), tea, cocoa and soup while traveling in places where service stations are few and far between or just nonexistent.

This unit works far better than the Max Burton version. The hardwired plug prevents the unit from shorting out. A cup of water almost boils in about 5 minutes. Would be nice if it were sealable like a thermos, and helpful if the measurements on the side were in cups as well as milliliters. about 250 milliliters to a cup. And like my Max Burton review, Nothing but water in these things. They say soups work in these things but even the protein in milk will burn on the heating elements. ONLY WATER! so instant add water drinks, oatmeal, ramen noodles, mashed potatoes.

Buy Roadpro 12V Hot Pot, 20 oz. Now

In preparation for a weeklong roadtrip with my son, I ordered this hotpot, planning to be able to warm up our coffee as we drove. Well there is a light that comes on when you plug in the pot, to let you know you have power, however the unit we received was defective. After about an hour of waiting for heat, I decided to see if it could be fixed. It is very easy to take apart. The leads for the heating element were loosely wrapped around the connectors, but not soldered. Having no tools with me in the car, I tried to reconnect the wires by hand, but could not get a good enough contact for it to heat. Final result: Cold coffee and 12v hotpot put in trash.

I purchased this to use in an RV while boondocking. I have a solar system installed in my RV, and use a 12 volt system, so I needed something to boil water or to at least get water hot enough to make coffee. Well, this hot pot does the job! It definitely boils water with no problem. It takes a while if you have it to the full mark, but that's not a problem for me, as I'm just happy that it works and I don't have to use my propane stove and can now s ave money by using this 12 volt hot pot on power generated by the sun. Works perfect!

UPDATE: When it worked it worked great, but for some reason it stopped heating, but the light still works. I have since requested a replacement, and will return the defective one. I will update in a few months to let you guys know if the new one is still working.

UPDATE #2: I received the replacement unit, and it works fine, but I truly believe the first one stopped working because I left it on after it reached the boiling point, which I guess you need to unplug it at that point. I changed my 5 star rating to a 3 star because you have to really watch this pot or set a timer to make certain it doesn't overheat.

UPDATE #3: Its been 9 months since I've had the replacement unit, and it is still holding on. I heat it up until the boiling point and turn it off. I use the hot water for instant coffee, French press and the mellita drip cones, and all versions do fine with this Hot Pot. I love the fact I don't have to use my propane to heat up water over a stove. This pot has worked wonders for me, but as I had mentioned before.....just don't leave it plugged up too long and it will work wonders for you too. By the way, I noticed on the side of the hot pot is an "imprinted" messages that actually says to UNPLUG the cord as soon as it starts to boil, so that probably explains the failure of the first one. I will up my rating of this product to 4 stars, but now I just use a timer to keep track of the progress. This could be a 5 star product if it had an internal temperature control and wouldn't overheat.

The Hot Pot heats the water pretty weel, but the cap do not close tight, and the hot water can spill out very easy. I only use once, because I need to make some teas, while working outside and sometimes is difficult to find hot water, but I will never use it again and if I had the possibility to return I could do it, but I don't have the box and the packing list, anyways is not too expensive.

I would like to know, before I bought it, this trouble with the cap.

Travel Smart By Conair Adapter/Converter Combo with Surge Protection

Travel Smart By Conair Adapter/Converter Combo with Surge ProtectionUpon receiving the product, I first verified that it worked in the U.S. without the converter enabled as a simple pass-through adapter. Once it passed this simple test, I gave it to my girlfriend who successfully used the converter in Hong Kong to step down the voltage at her hotel and at the airport. In addition, her roommate at the hotel was from Beijing, China and was also able to use the device to charge her phone and use her laptop.

The adapter itself is made of plastic, so it's as durable as plastic can be. The knobs that slide along the side lock in place once you've fully extended the prongs. It's a little bulky compared to other adapters, but that's because it contains several mechanisms for various prongs and the voltage converter circuitry. It also holds the input plug very snug, and the output plug also feels like a sturdy connection to the wall outlet.

product worked like it was supposed to. I traveled to a few different countries and it worked in all of them. (Spain, England, Ireland) Very convenient to have an adaptor/convertor all in one!

I used it during a recent trip to Australia and the converter worked fine. But the converter is kind of flimsy and I had a tough time keeping it plugged in.

The unit is easy to use. It worked perfectly for my laptop. I did notice that for the camera charger, in the converter mode my charger became hot quickly so I could only charge for a few minutes at a time. And for my curling iron, the converter mode barely heated the iron while the adapator mode over-heated.

Want Travel Smart By Conair Adapter/Converter Combo with Surge Protection Discount?

We purchased this Adapter/Converter for a trip to Thailand ..... fortunately, we had a back-up adapter/converter. The Travel Smart by Conair didn't work from day one. It's a poorly constructed, cheap plastic. No surge protection....and none of our appliances (hair dryer, electric toothbrush, etc) would work with it. In fact my hair dryer burned out the first time I used it with this device. It's priced cheaply, but definitely a waste of money.

Wall charger does not work! It says "Charging is not supported with this accessory". On the product description is says use for IPod and IPhone. That is not correct. Very disappointed. I purchased this for mainly the wall charger.

I plug my iPod touch in to charge it charged fine. When I went to release the cord from my iPod the end came apart. Only one charge and then it fell apart!!! I know it was cheap but I did not realize it was only one charge cheap!!!

I love this kit, I have the car part in my car at all times and since I use my iPod a lot I need to charge it when I am driving.

It works perfectly, I also use the wall attachment every night, makes things so much easier so I do not have to plug it in to the computer. It was a great buy for what I paid and it was a speedy delivery.

New model!Dual lens HD 720P Car Cam IR LED G sensor Video Camera Recorder Camcorder DVR

New model!Dual lens HD 720P Car Cam IR LED G sensor Video Camera Recorder Camcorder DVRVery easy to setup, mine came already with the English language selected. The video is very clear

Audio is not bad either. I put a 32gb micro SD card in mine. After having it in my car far only a few days , I

Was in a small accident. A car backed up into me, all captured on video. For the price of $70 delivered, I don't

Think you can beat this little unit.... It is about the size of a deck of cards, and sits right behind my rear

View mirror perfectly. I am very impressed.

Within a couple of minutes, I had this camera installed and ready to use. It powers on when I turn on the car because it's plugged into an ignition-controlled power port, and powers off a few seconds after I shut it off.

The video quality is good and it has a wide field of view. The audio recording is good too.

I have not connected the second camera yet.

There are options to control how long each video segment is before it rolls over to the next. I have it set to 1 minute.

I uploaded an unedited, raw video file, and if my review allows me to post links, it is here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8957547/dashcamdemo.mov

I recommend this camera for anyone looking for an affordable dash cam.

This set up and installed in less than 1/2 hour including running the cable for the rear camera, and I had plenty of cable to spare. I spent a couple of extra bucks and got a SanDisk Ultra 32 GB SDHC to support the advanced video capture. I was surprised on how clear the video was and the audio wasn't bad either. It's a great buy for $70.

I've owned this car cam for a few weeks now, but today was the first time I bothered watching the recorded video. Something is wrong, but I'm not sure what. It appears that the video freezes after 5-seconds of recording, and stays frozen for 14-seconds, then starts recording again for 5-seconds. It continually does this. The audio records consistently despite the video freezing. I think it may be the rear-view camera causing the problem. Maybe the cam can't handle recording both cams at the same time. I can live without the rear-view cam, but the cam freezing is unacceptable. I can't recommend this car cam.

For all the claims advertised with this product, it would fail to achieve the status of a paper weight. This is about the worst car dash cam I have ever seen. Whatever you do, don't throw out the packaging before you try it, as you'll need it for a refund.

This is the worst product known to man, and the two positive reviews are pulled from someone's rear end.

Pros:

Cheep & inexpensive.

Suction cup holds securly to windshield. Won't fall.

Has all the features one would want in a device like this.

Cons:

have to remove battery every 2 weeks to keep it working.

Resolution. Not Great. Same quality Ive seen on 640ish cameras.

Reset device does not reset all options.

Device & Manual quality show this is an obvious Knock-Off Product.

Overall

-It works "OK". I would recommend spending $100 and get the TopDawg Model. It has to work better.

-Guess for $50 I can't complain too much. At this price I didn't have great expectations.

Motorola Installed Handsfree Car KitI've installed two of these kits with no problems. While the instructions are "sketchy", they do have what you need to know in the two pages for your given language. Installation time varies with the vehicle, access under-dash, skill of the installer, but is pretty much "easy". The product itself works well and does what it is supposed to do...free you from headsets while driving and provide good quality sound in both directions.

Car Holder ECS-K1F2BE for Samsung I9250 Nexus

Car Holder ECS-K1F2BE for Samsung I9250 NexusWe use this for roadtrips or anything that might take a while. I have a VERIZON LTE model (yes i know, this is for the other model of the nexus). That being said, around the internet there's some words on the modifications needed to make a LTE model fit. Few different ways to go about it but the general idea is to make the holes for the volume and power buttons larger as the LTE is a bit thicker, the buttons sit closer to the front than on the other model.

The method I used was to use a poking device (butter knife or something, not sharp) to pop the volume and the power buttons out of the shell and then to use an appropriate diameter drill bit to elongate the inner hole (its got an outer shell and an inner, the hole on the inside needs to be elongated). Then I used a dremel with a sanding disk to widen the inside holes. That about sums it up. Put the buttons back in it and the phone pops right in and doesn't have a fit.

Takes some practice but you just want to pop it in there, not cram or solidly seat. The pins still don't completely line up so if you jam one side in more than the other it won't pickup the pin connections on the side. or the audio will be intermittent.

Second comment, need to get the apk for the google car dock app, typically found alongside the car dock modification info. its called cardock. side load that to your device and when you drop it in the dock, it rotates landscape and launches cardock. no app? no big deal, it'll still rotate landscape but you'll have to hunt and peck for your pandora app or whatevers.

Audio out works great, music is awesome.

Wanna use the phone? Get a bluetooth. cardock is intelligent and will turn on the bluetooth when you dock the thing and actively sync to your earpiece. wasn't made to use the car speakers (privacy reasons.)

Charges the phone, and keeps it topped up when you're navigating with the gps on and the radio streaming.

Fits with the OEM extended battery and extended battery cover.

the biggest downside to this all is that with the extended battery i have two options go naked, or use the sycrilic case, the soft inner with the hard outer shell. so if i'm rocking the case, obviously, i have to take it out of the case to dock it. which is a slight pain in the butt to do that EVERY DAY for my commute or whatnot, so its why I only really use it on car trips and then the phone is au natural for the weekend.

Hope you like this, the info is out there on the interwebs for this mod if you need more than that, but it works, and works awesome.

Oh and the suction cup is a monster... (my silly garmin still falls every so often, this guy stays on teh windshield while you manhandle it to get your phone back. oh yeah, btw, this dock WANTS your phone. and it will not give it back. you must want it back to get it out of the thing, but thats what the popout hole is for just jam your fingers in there and the phone flies out at you angrily and bounces off the dash into your coffee so be careful out there!... okay, so I didn't do the coffee bit, but it did fly out the drivers side and i saved it with my sneaker. 'nuff said there.

I had been looking for this dock since I bought my Galaxy Nexus from Google. They suddenly stopped selling its accessories and other docks didn't have the pogo pins and were in reality just stands for the Nexus. This is a genuine Samsung product the real deal with the pogo pins. Syncs your phone into car mode and turns even the home screen to landscape.

Careful however if you sync your phone to your car via bluetooth; make sure it is synced before docking otherwise it becomes a headache to connect the audio to the car via bluetooth if you dock first.

Excellent dock!

Buy Car Holder ECS-K1F2BE for Samsung I9250 Nexus Now

Pros: Solid mount, uses pogo pins, good quality charger included

Cons: Difficult to insert and remove phone from dock. Charger only has 1 USB output (most of the others I've used have 2). Arm that holds the dock is VERY wide, make it hard to see around if mounted on the windshield.

i was looking for for a long time. unfortunitally Google's relationship with Samsung has soured a bit so the phone and it's accessories was quickly replaced which is a bummer because it leaves everyone buying into this (truely) first nexus phone stranded. after all this car holder is the real deal. the fitting of the phone into car holder or taking the phone out requires a bit of effort. this is not for everyday use in my opinion. there have been times where i was worried about having damaged the phone while inserting or removing the phone. otherwise this car holder beats any other i have seen so far

Returned this product. Fit was way too tight and therefore difficult in removing phone from mount. Pogo pins didn't work either. Not worth the money. Bought another generic one here on Amazon for only $9.99 that works much better even without the pogo pins.

Kat's 22200 80 Watt 36" Battery Thermal Wrap

Kat's 22200 80 Watt 36' Battery Thermal WrapI live in northern Minnesota and have a Pontiac Grand Am.

It's very hard to get an engine heater in this car.

I got the battery wrap and it was easy to install.

Due to lack of space I had to remove the battery cables and hold down bolt. I pull out the battery and wrapped it and used the long twist ties to keep it on. Put the battery back in and bolted it down and put the cables bake on. Ran the cord out the grill and plugged it in.

Two days later it was 14 below zero (that was at 8 PM.)

I went out and put a thermometer on top of the battery and the battery was at 60 degrees.

Car starts every morning because the battery has more power.

I live in Minnesota and unfortunately I have to keep one car outside in the winter time. As any mechanic knows batteries lose a percentage of charge when they get really cold and won't allow the car to start. This wrap completely eliminated that problem, keeps the battery warm like it was 60 outside and our car started perfect every time even when the weather got below zero.

We bought this battery wrap from Amazon because you could not beat the price (+ free shipping!). It works terrific! My 18 year old son has a 1992 Honda Accord and we do not have an extra garage for his car. After going through one morning of his car not starting we purchased the battery wrap. It works like a charm! We have had a horrendous winter so far this year in New England and his car has started EVERY SINGLE MORNING! Only catch is that you do have to keep an eye on the temperature at night because the instructions clearly say that if it is above freezing you should not plug the battery wrap in. Well, today it was 2 degrees and the car started right up! My son has never been late to school or work since buying this battery wrap!

I live in the northern part of the USA where it gets extremely cold. The battery warmer is used for a standby generator for our home. It has a duty cycle once a week and during this past December 2010 with temps the 2nd coldest on record the generator spun over with ease and started immediately. I included the thermostatic plug/switch great combination. I would highly recommend this product and supplier.

I've had a Punch amplifier in my car for years, and always thought it was a bit lacking.

This amplifier has been a wonderful upgrade, it has significantly more power than what it replaced. Installation was straightforward as the car was already wired for the old amplifier. I'm not sure I would have been able to run the cable from my battery to the unit myself, so consider installation costs if you aren't too handy..

Sonically, this amplifier was a very nice upgrade. The bass in clearer and louder than my old amplifier. It didn't take long to get it properly adjusted, and sounding great. So no complaints here, it sounds great, looks great, and dropped right in for me.

This was installed in a Chevy Suburban, and it sounds good! Nice, solid bass, but doesn't shake the truck (or the neighborhood). Clean bass requires power, and this has that. Getting power to run it required a direct, fused lead to the battery, and then it was pretty easy. I am running two 12" woofers, and getting no discernible distortion. I took off one star because it gets pretty warm.

Want Hifonics GLX1000.1D Gladiator 1 x 1000 Watts and 1 Ohm Amplifier Discount?

Lets be serious. No one that would buy this amp is messing around. Only hardcore car audio fanatics (like me) would choose something this slamming to power their bass section. As it should be.

I've tried (and blown!) dozens of amps over the years. This one really gets the job done. I'm currently using it to ruin my eardrums via a 12" Crunch sub, mounted in a box in a Dakota club cab. The air pressure that the sub produces is prodigious, and this amp HITS HARD.

In addition, its really beautiful, and the metal work is meticulous and clean. It looks like its quality and feels like it too. Hifonics is in the same product group that brings us Crunch, Maxxsonics, Quart and others. I usually like most of their things, and this one is no exception. Pounding, just pounding.

Save 44% Off

From what I can tell, this is a pretty solidly built amplifier and it looks like it will hold up fairly well. The case is not completely metal and includes chromed plastic, and that is of slight concern, as the housing with the holes used to fasten the amplifier to the your cabinet or car floor is made of plastic. I am not sure why they decided not to make the end caps out of metal, but I hope that the plastic end caps will be durable. Barring the plastic, this amplifier certainly feels very solid.

The amplifier has a pretty nice control set that will allow you to tune your subs fairly well from the amplifier end. The subsonic filter will allow you to cut frequencies below a certain point, keeping you from wasting power on reproducing frequencies that you do not need; this setting goes from 15Hz to 35Hz. There is, as there should be, a low pass filter as well, that will allow you to filter out all frequencies above your desired crossover point.

There is also a bass EQ setting that I personally do not recommend using, as it boosts your bass and can cause not only muddy, overly-bassy sound, but it can also cause your speakers to extrude further than they should, causing voice coil damage. In addition to this, there is a remote volume boost control box that allows you to remotely change the volume of your amplifier. I do not recommend this either, as it is no substitute for proper system setup and you will be arbitrarily adjusting the bass response. Some might not be as concerned with proper flat frequency response as I am, so this might actually be a positive for some.

I would suggest setting the system up with a real-time frequency analyzer to ensure that you get a flat frequency response and do no go overboard with booming bass. Just because you can doesn't mean that you should. When properly tuned, this amplifier can add the proper reproduction of low end frequencies to your system and give you a great sounding setup.

A wiring diagram is provided for those who are not familiar with series-parallel, parallel-parallel, series, or parallel wiring. THIS IS VITAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE WIRING THEIR SUBWOOFERS. If you do not know how to figure resistance properly, PLEASE refer to their chart, as it will show you how to wire your speakers to get the proper ohm rating.

Another note: if you display your amplifiers, you will like this one, as it has an illuminated blue logo across the top and it glows blue when it is on.

this voltage meter functions exactly as advertised and has a nice 7 segment led display. the meter comes with a strange rubbery coating on the plastic that looked very bad, I took it off with a little scrubbing and some denatured alcohol. Great product! I thought it was going to be a bit bright at night when mounted on my center console but it is just right. Not too dull during the day, and not blinding at night. It mounted quite easily, connection was a snap (despite the severe lack of instructions, but there are only 2 wire so its pretty easy), and it has held up so far to some pretty rough rides in New England seas.

These are very easy to setup, just two wires and installation was a snap. Display is very clear and easy to read and they are very affordable.

But, the first day the temp got over 80, the inside of the vehicle temp got hot and I quickly found out that the faces are covered in plastic and not glass. Both monitors I bought now have a melted face on them so I had to tear the plastic face off so I could see the display. Very easy but very cheap. Not sure why you would construct a voltage monitor that melt under the slightest rise in outside temp.

I won't be buying these again and now trying to find out where I can get a glass replacement for the face.
