Optima Batteries 8014-045 D34/78 YellowTop Dual Purpose Battery

Optima Batteries 8014-045 D34/78 YellowTop Dual Purpose BatteryThis is officially my sixth Optima Yellow Top battery, and the first that has had an issue requiring warranty support. Unfortunately, I was told by Optima that Amazon is not on their authorized retailer list therefore I am unable to take it to a local retailer for warranty support. I also confirmed via my Amazon account that it cannot be returned to Amazon. What to do, what to do. Well, even though it is only 9 months old, I bought a brand new Optima from my local Autozone that I know will be an easy exchange should I ever have an issue again.

Now, on to the battery: These have worked well for me in multiple applications from HD trucks to multi-amp-ed Trans Am's and even an off-road Jeep. I've never had one fail until now but be aware that these are not "plug-and-play" batteries like a wet lead-acid type that most people use and/or grew up with when it comes to charging. I'd suggest visiting Optima's web site and reading the differences between their Red, Yellow and Blue top batteries so you understand their application and the type of care and feeding they require. The Yellow covers both cranking amps for starter motors as well as deep-cycle capacity for applications with a large amperage draw such as amplifiers and accessories like winches and such. I've averaged over 6 years out of each battery until I had this one fail and two were going strong when the vehicles left my possession.

I'm guessing that a number of those who are saying this is a bad battery or doesn't last haven't taken the time to learn about them. They can be drained completely down and yet recover where a standard battery won't. But, and it is a big but, they must be recovered following very specific procedures and no, you can't simply hook up a charger and expect it to recover automatically. Do some research and you'll confirm what I already know, these are not standard batteries and yes, they are better than your standard wet-cell batteries, in my opinion. For me, they've outlasted every other type of battery I've used and are what I buy when the stock battery dies or when I need more power for accessories. Peace.

There's a lot of un-due praise for Optima batteries. I believe their reputation is over deserving. Granted batteries don't last long in Phoenix, I was expecting more than the 2 years I got out of my Yellow Top Optima; their capacity and life is not much different than cheaper quality batteries.

Negs:

The warranty is very poor, nowhere near the level of the competition.

I expected a quality deep cycle AGM to last a lot longer than just over 2 years.

Pros:

Worked well under heavy current loads. I run 5 amplifiers that draw about 80-100 amps. The Optima helped buffer the headlight-dimming effect I used to have w/ my stock battery.

Overall a good battery, but at this heavy price I would expect a battery to have a warranty to back it up past 18 months and to last longer than 2 years. If you're spending this much, check out the Diehard Platinum or others first, you'll be glad you did.

This is a great battery as long as you buy it from an authorized dealer. AMAZON is not and this voids the warranty!!! I have one that went bad just before the 3 year FREE replacement, which is very unusual with Optima batteries. The manufacturer won't honor warranty because Amazon is not an authorized distributor, they show a warranty link (bad advertizing), If you contact Amazon they say it's only good for 30 days. Terrible deal and have found it online for $20 cheaper, free shipping, and warrantied. Very disappointed with Amazon. BEWARE!!!

First of all, I am a dedicated AGM fanatic, and I won't use leaky wet-cell batteries. That said, I'm not sure if Optima is my brand any more. They just don't seem to last very long. This one was in very intermittent use, kept on a trickle charger, and gave up the ghost after 4 years of really light duty. The failure mode was a lost cell cranking voltage dropped to 7V. I'm trying out the Lifeline product line in several places maybe it will be better than Optima's so-so history with me.

Want Optima Batteries 8014-045 D34/78 YellowTop Dual Purpose Battery Discount?

Optima batteries, by virtue of their spiral cell design and construction, there is not a wetor gel-cell lead-acid battery out there that can compare in terms of charging efficiency and durability. However, do not purchase this through Amazon -it is NOT an authorized Optima dealer. Only an authorized Optima dealer, where you made your purchase, is obligated to replace a defective Optima battery with a new Optima. Check the Optima website for authorized dealers.

The above said, Optima batteries are better purchased at your local auto parts store that is an authorized dealer for the following reasons:

1. In the event of a warranty issue, it will be a simple swap.

2. Eliminate the wait and reduce shipping angst. Although an Optima battery is quite rugged, when shipped in a flimsy cardboard box and then tossed around and dropped by a careless courier, the impact by the battery's heavy bulk can cause its plastic case and the internal connections to weaken, crack, or break.

3. You can visually inspect a unit for physical damage from mishandling. Missing retaining fingers around the vent covers is a subtle but tell-tale sign that the unit has been mishandled.

4. You can check the voltage before walking out of the store with your new battery.

Hint: This is a long-lived product -purchase through a store chain (franchise) if you anticipate relocating within three years, and do not lose your receipt.

If you insist on purchasing an Optima battery online, your best bet is to order from Optima itself directly. This is the only instance that Optima (the manufacturer) will deal with you directly and give you a replacement battery. Otherwise, all warranty issues are addressed through the authorized dealer where you purchased your Optima battery.

XO Vision IR620 Universal IR Wireless Foldable Headphones for In-Car Video Listening

XO Vision IR620 Universal IR Wireless Foldable Headphones for In-Car Video Listening
  • Extra foam cushioning for superior comfort
  • Auto Shut-Off saves battery
  • One size fits all - easily adjusts to fit any size head
  • Touch On/Off Switch and Volume Control conveniently located on side of headphone
  • Foldable Earcup design

To purchase the headsets from GM are currently around $80 a piece. I just purchased 4 for under that amount total! It does not get much better than that!

I just purchased a used GMC Yukon XL with the integrated DVD (Panasonic) and needed to get headsets and the remote ... these worked without a glitch!

One comment though to keep in mind is that these are single channel IR headsets. For example, my SUV supports two channels, one for the DVD, and one for the radio. Therefore, with a two channel headset, one could swap between the DVD and the radio/CD if one wanted. Due to the fact that these are only single channel, all I get is the DVD. However, my goal was to have the kids watch their DVD while I listen to the radio, so this is all that I needed.

I am not an audiophile, but they sounded fine enough to me. There was no buzz or hiss and felt comfortable enough. Lets put it this way ... the kids do not complain and stay quiet ... that is good enough for me.

(For the remote I got a universal remote at my local retail store for $7.)

You can't beat the price!

I have a 2009 Honda Pilot and 3 kids and the Honda's DVD Entertainment system only comes with 2 headsets. Hondas headsets are about $40-$50 each and since I don't think any headset will last with my kids, I decided to try XO Vision. These headphones work with the DVD system, sound pretty good, fit head sizes both large and small at a fraction of the Honda OEM headset price. I decided to get two pairs as back up or to entertain others. For the price of under $20 you can't go wrong.

I bought my 2005 GMC Yukon Denali used, about two months ago. It didn't have the factory head sets with it and after inquiring at the dealer for new ones ($65/each), I said "The kids can listen through the speakers... after all, it is a Bose system... I'm not spending $200 on 3 headsets!". Well, after two short months, I was ready to. I quickly realized a grown man can only take so much of Spongebob's laugh. I started searching for head phones that would be compatible with the video system. Found these and thought for the price I would give them a try. Got them today. Put the batteries in, turned them on, started the DVD, and they worked! No setup. No configuration. They just worked! (why cany other things be like that?)

The sound quality is very good. Which by my kids (ages 4, 7, 10) standards its "freakin awesome, dad!" The construction quality is pretty good but I fully expect them to break at some point. Not because they are flimsy, they are not. But because my kids are that good! They can bend a crowbar in a sandbox and at $16 a pop, daddy can afford a couple extra crowbars.

We actually bought these from Walmart, but I have resolved to write favorable review so people can get more info on specific products. We have a 2007 Honda Odyssey and the headphones for the DVD system have taken a beating from our children. Recently one of them lost the right ear sound and at first I thought I would try to fix the pair. Not so much, they were impossible to open so I quickly gave up and began my search. The factory sets are more than $50 a pair so I went looking and found these for 10 bucks on walmart. They arrived today and I immediately went out to see if they worked and they did without doing a single thing! Put the batteries in, cranked the car, and away we went! I only ordered one at first, in case we had compatibility issues for some strange reason, but they powered up and worked right away! Can you beat it? No syncing, or matching, nothing required for use. Headphones for 10 bucks? Sound is great, fit is fine, volume fantastic. Don't listen to the people who post negative reviews because they thought they would work with their portable DVD player which doesn't have IR capability. Those people are fools who didn't know what they were buying. You must actually do research to know that these are meant for in-car built in IR DVD systems. I just ordered 3 more sets so anyone in our van can enjoy listening to what's on the player. If anything goes wrong, I will update this review but as far as I am concerned, you can go ahead and get these for Honda systems. Unbelievable that I waited so long before finding these, but I am sold on them and won't be buying anything else. Take the leap and you'll be glad you did! ENJOY!

Clarion CZ501 CD/MP3/WMA Receiver with USB and Bluetooth

Clarion CZ501 CD/MP3/WMA Receiver with USB and Bluetooth
  • Built-in Bluetooth for hands-free calling and music streaming
  • Direct iPod and iPhone connectivity with front USB connector
  • HD Radio Ready (THD301) and Sirius Satellite Radio Ready for clear radio reception
  • 4V/6ch output for superior system expandability
  • Wireless remote control included

While researching for a new stereo for our 1999 Toyota Tacoma there were a few things that were 'must have's'. Bluetooth, iPod and Aux were essentials. This head unit has all of those and more. One thing that surprised me was that the Pre-Amp outputs are 4volt, which makes a difference when adding amplifiers. With the Pre-Amp output there is an additional Subwoofer Pre-Amp. This makes a huge difference in the sound quality when adding a subwoofer. The other head units in this price range did not have a subwoofer Pre-Amp let alone 4 volt. One thing to note is the Bluetooth is BUILT IN. When you are researching for a head unit with bluetooth, make sure you know whether or not a separate accessory is required for it to work. Most of them in this price range are not built in. When using it in the car it sounds great. Sometimes I have to speak a little louder but not much more than normal speaking volume. There is an option to add a microphone which I may do eventually. After pairing my MyTouch 4G it connects and disconnects seamlessly. Playing my music from my phone via Bluetooth works very well with little or no static. When connected to Bluetooth you can listen to the radio, CD, iPod and when a call comes in it switches to the phone. This feature is one of my favorite because it makes driving and talking easy and safe. The iPod usability is great and easy to figure out and use. I have not used this feature much as I do not own an iPod but have tried it out a handful of times and I had no issues finding the song/artist/playlist I wanted. All in all Clarion has done a great job providing lots of options and features into a head unit in the mid/lower price range.

UPDATE:

Just bought one for my Dad's Father's Day gift and will buy another one for a new car we just bought.

I purchased this unit at audio express here in Phoenix. I wanted out of my factory stereo which did not have an aux. port and ended up purchasing this one with bluetooth built-in. Now I stream my music from my Windows phone without any cords. Clarity is great...I would say CD quality if not close. And the Hands-free calling is great. You pair your bluetooth enabled phone once and thats it. Now, every time I get in my truck and start it up, it automatically detects my phone. For being a built-in mic, the quality is very good. I've had the opportunity to have several lengthy calls while driving and only my daughter noticed a slight background noise during the conversation. But she said it was something that she had to listen for. None of my other friends and family could tell the diffence. My only complaing so far is that the wiring harness that fitted my truck did not allow the dimmer switch to be connected so the display is on the brightest level...but that is no fault of the unit only a wiring issue.

I replaced an old not so great Sony CD receiver in order to gain a USB and Bluetooth interface. What a great decision to go with the Clarian CZ501. I've been looking at possibilities for months but couldn't justify the $. This receiver was very inexpensive and had all the features I was looking for. So far I haven't played around with the iPod connection bucause I put all my favorite music on a couple of tiny 8Gb thumb drives and now there is no real need for the CD drive though it works well. It took about five minutes initially to connect my phone to Bluetooth and it connects flawlessly to the radio within a few seconds of starting the car and the faceplace located microphone works quite well with no real need to add an external microphone. It even seamlessly transfers an active call to Bluetooth when I get in the car without any action on my part. Automaticly switching the audio to the car speakers and microphone without any call disruption. I couldn't be more satisfied with this receiver and the sound is quite acceptable on my 25 year old Porsche 944 factory speakers.

The sound quality is GREAT!!

I like all the options for getting music in my car.. Bluetooth, usb, Ipod via USB, cd, aux, HD radio hookup, Satellite hookup.

Stuff they could have done better:

1. Mic sensitivity for bluetooth to phone is adjustable, but still doesn't quite work right. It does have a port for an external wired mic.. may have to look into that..

2. Menu and buttons are counter-intuitive Try and set the clock! Menu button? nope.. try the "D" button.. hold it down.. then hit left and right then turn the dial to make the hours and minutes right.. then press... ??? nope.. that didn't work. try again.. nope.. again.. nope.. again!!?!? nope.. manual? no, I won't do that... hmm.. press and hold the dial? Yup.. that worked.. but man... why ? what? huh?

3. Remote does not seem to have the option to switch folders on a USB drive or CD, just have to ff or RR to move through all the songs to move to the next/previous folder.

4. Audio settings are mediocre. Fader and Balance are adjustable but as soon as you adjust it past two clicks, the other side shuts off completely. Not really much of a fader/balance. EQ settings are limited, but you can make your own, but it is a pain to get right.

5. The HPF and LPF are good, but it is pretty much all or nothing. LPF is for subwoofer output only and the HPF is for EVERYTHING else, front and back deck powered channels and the pre-amp hookups for the front and back channels to AMP. Cannot customize any further than that, so hope your speakers are all the same type!

6. What the hell is M--B EX? Magna Bass EX ? Manual had no mention of what it is. had to google it. "Magna Bass Expander" -Bass Boost essentially -works OK.

7. Bluetooth sound quality is good from my android phone. Deck can control the player but only for pause, play, next track/ff , prevous track/rr. Deck does not display song title via bluetooth connection.

8. Button labels on the deck are hard to read, but once you get used to them it isn't so bad.

9. Searching for folders/songs is a pain with the non-intuitive controls, but it is possible. I think?

Other random thoughts:

IPOD controls are better than USB or Bluetooth lets you select playlists etc, actually seems somewhat intuitive.

I do not have the Satellite nor HD Radio hookups,so I have no input on those.

This thing produces the cleanest, purest and most 0 distortion sound available. There is not another head unit out there under $5oo that even comes close. so simple to operate and everything works flawlessly. If u have an ounce of smarts and can read a manual you will have no problems. As for some reviews i have read stateing some problems i hate to say it, but they just dont know what they are doing. Even my 9 yr old grand daughter can operate the features on this unit. Hands down it deserves 10 stars. CDi wanted to add regarding playing the cd, the reason it takes a second or so to load is it is reading and storing the entire cd, wich is why you will not get noise from scratches and unlike other units when ff or rw you will notice song still plays without speed interuption as all other units will do. UPDATE: i keep reading about the dimmer control issues: ok people all vehichles have a dimmer wire. just most dont run thru the wireing harness unless you have a new vehichle with steering control. In most vehichles the wire is gray. ( take a second to look at your radio and or electrical schematics) most have 2 wires for control of dimming. One will dim when lights are turned on, the other will give total dimming control same as your dome/dash dimming control switch. when you figure it out dimming works great, just decide wich dimming you want to use. I control mine thru the dome/dash dimmer so i can dial in brightness to exactly what i like. (1991 chevy 3/4 ton pickup) REMEMBER ALL VEHICHLES HAVE DIMMER CONTROL

Cobra CPI 880 800 Watt 12 Volt DC to 120 Volt AC Power Inverter with 5 Volt USB output

Cobra CPI 880 800 Watt 12 Volt DC to 120 Volt AC Power Inverter with 5 Volt USB output
  • 800 W Continuous Power Handling
  • 5v USB output
  • 2 Grounded AC Receptacles
  • Thermal Shutdown and Reverse Polarity Protection

Got this to put in my little RV. I was looking for something small enough to not draw down

the one battery I have in the Coach. Installed under a cabinet close to the battery and

ran 10 ga wire to it. Plug in the Coach electrical cord to it and turned it on. It will

run a Radio or TV or the Microwave or the Fan in my A/C but not the A/C itself which would

take about a 3000 watt inverter which would drain my battery really fast! I watched TV and

listened to the radio for 2 days and finally ran the battery down running the A/C fan on the

second day. It's a little workhorse. Good for the price too!

Bought this for tailgating at Buffet. I was actually able to hook it up to a lawn tractor battery and power a blender. I wasn't sure if the battery would have enough juice, but it worked great and was much easier to transport than a car or marine battery. Testing at home showed the low voltage alarms and whatnot work very well. I just wish this came with a cigarette lighter cord for those times you're just using it on low-amp devices the way some other inverters do. Also, I agree with some other reviews that the mounting tab locations look like they would make getting the screws in there difficult. I haven't tried mounting it, but the edges of the case definitely would get in the way. Creative DIYers would find a way to make it work, so no big deal.

The first one died within about 6 weeks. That is not a good sign... but Cobra made good and sent me a new one which has been working flawlessly for > year. I like this unit because the fan is active, not passive. So if you are using it to, say, charge a phone or run a laptop with a charged battery, (e.g. not much current draw) the fan stays off. As a noise-freak, that makes me happy. The power rating seems realistic, unlike two other units I tried. I'm quite happy with it, minus the dead original of course.

mine works great. i don't use the wires that it comes with. they are short and thin. i modified my old jumper cables to use with it. i cut the clamps off of one end and permanently attached that to the inverter. now i have big clamps with 12 foot wires for a little more flexibility. i have used it for camping to make coffee and it worked great. i have also hooked up various power tools and those fired right up. (power drill, circ saw). i had my truck running while i was using it only because i was nervous about killing my battery. (we camp out in the middle of nowhere). it's a good little tool, i would recommend it.

This works great. Hooked it up to the clamps of my portable jump starter (just to test it out) and it ran a box fan high. Than I tried my desktop which is a gaming computer I built. Q6600 quad core overclocked to 3.4ghz 3x500gb raid 0 and 2x1.5tb hard drives. Geforce 8800 superclocked. Its 4 years old give me a break. It ran my desktop from start up to gaming and it was also running my monitor too. After 10 min or so the low voltage alarm came on but remember I was testing it with a portable jumpstarter that wasn't even fully charged. All in all its great. Its sitting in my car next to my amp so I can connect it to my amps power connection when I need to run something big.

Aluratek APB04F Dual USB 10000mAh External Battery Pack for Charging of Tablets Smartphones eReader

Aluratek APB04F Dual USB 10000mAh External Battery Pack for Charging of Tablets Smartphones eReaders and Other Mobile Devices
  • 10000mAh Lithium Ion Rechargeable Battery
  • Dual USB Charging Ports 2.1 Amp
  • LED Charge Status Indicators
  • Rapid Charging Technology Built In
  • Sleek Design

Now that we're seeing the beginnings of the first true 4G mobile networks, smartphones and tablets are becoming an increasingly integral part of many people's daily lives. Whereas it's pretty commonplace to sit down somewhere with your laptop plugged in while you work, modern tablets and smartphones allow us to do our computing and gaming on-the-go. Even with the advances in battery technology and power-saving LED displays, it's tough for the average user to make it through a full day on their mobile device without running out of juice.

Enter devices like this -at 5000mAh, it's got enough power to completely charge most smartphones 2-3 times. Even running 4G and watching streaming videos on your phone, you can comfortably be away from the charger for a couple days without having to worry. It'll also give you about a 75% boost on your tablet battery (iPad 2 battery is just shy of 7000 mAh).

This device is fairly portable -a little bulkier than a kit-kat bar -and should fit easily into your purse or backpack... I wouldn't really want to carry it in my pocket, but I guess it'd fit fair easily into a zippered jacket pocket or something. Once you add in the necessary cable, though, it can start getting sorta bulky.

Speaking of bulk, one thing that sorta bugged me about this device was the proprietary charging cable. So many devices nowadays are mini-USB. It's nice having a standard plug. Why, then, do you have to use some weird DC adapter to charge this portable battery? It already comes with a mini-USB cable for use with smartphones and such -just let it charge with that! Since this device must be charged using the proprietary USB-to-DC plug, if you happen to lose it, you're done. Sorta sucks. For this reason (and for the added portability) I'd prefer to stick with a smaller charger like the Belkin F8M158tt Power Pack 1000. Sure, it doesn't have quite the same capacity, but how often are you really going to be needing several days' worth of portable charge on your smartphone in between opportunities to plug it into a wall outlet or USB port?

Anyway, this is a decent device. It comes with a whole range of adapters that allow you to plug it into your smartphone, normal phone iPad / iPod, etc. It's got great capacity but suffers from being a bit bulkier than lower-capacity battery units and a proprietary charge cable. While this could be a good workhorse for iPad users, I'm thinking of these types of devices as being primarily used to extend the life of smartphones for folks on-the-go. As such, this is just a little too bulky to be practical for my daily use. I'd give it a higher rating but the DC charge cable bugs me.

You can read all the specific details pertaining to this device in all the other reviews. I just wanted to correct the misconception that it will only charge via a computer USB port. This is not true. I used my HP Touchpad charger and it worked perfectly. This battery pack requires a charger capable of 1.3 amps. The iPhone charger only is .5amps (I believe). Any aftermarket charger that provides a higher current should work fine.

Only reason I am not making this a 5 star item is for the slight bulkiness of the pack. At the discounted price it can not be beat.

My first review of this product would have been an enthusiastic 5 star recommendation; however, having had it for a few months I have found a massive drawback a faulty USB cable. I contacted the company to see if they would send me a new one, and indeed they would if I paid 10 dollars for the cable and 9.95 in shipping. Needless to say I was not amendable to doing that.

When I originally received this item, I didn't use it right off as I never found that I was able to drain my Samsung Infuse cell phone or IPod touch 4th gen completely of batteries and find myself no where near a charger. I kept it in my purse just in case, and I did find myself needing it when I traveled extensively in November for both business and pleasure. First I found myself taking many pictures, and sending those pictures to Facebook, draining my cell of battery when I visited Walt Disney World. I was very lucky to have had this to charge my cell while we took a break for lunch or dinner. Secondly, when I traveled to Denver on business from Boston, I found I had forgotten to charge my IPod before I left. Having this in my purse was a Godsend for the 5 hour flight! After these experiences I became diligent about keeping the external battery pack charged, just in case.

Unfortunately, the USB cable (and its' attachments to charge my cell and Ipod) went dead in January as I was on the road for business again. I was unimpressed by the lack of customer service and how long it took them to get back to me only to tell me that I would have to shell out 20 dollars for a replacement cable. My work around for this is inconvenient, but it works I carry an IPod and USB mini cable with the battery to be able to use it to charge when needed. This is unwieldy, but again it works. The battery still works fabulously, so I will rate this at 3 stars for that, but be aware of the 0 star customer service and usb cable.

Want Aluratek APB04F Dual USB 10000mAh External Battery Pack for Charging of Tablets Smartphones eReader Discount?

This is a rechargeable battery that you charge up using your computer's USB port. Once it is charged, then you can plug any number of electronic devices into this battery, using the USB port in the battery, to run or charge your device from it. I've used this to charge up my 2nd generation iTouch iPod(r), my iPad2(r), and my Blackberry(r) Tour phone. (Obviously not all at the same time; just one at a time, grin).

When you charge this from your computer, it has 3 blue lights that will light up as it becomes fully charged (1 blue light means it's about 1/3 charged up, 2 lights is 2/3rds). It comes with all the cables to charge the battery from your USB port, and to then charge or run your devices. It does not come with a AC adapter to charge your battery from a wall plug, and it does not come with a 12 volt adapter to charge the battery from your car's 12 volt accessory port (cigarette lighter). To charge/run your device, select the right cable with the right connector for your device, plug it into your device and into the battery, and then there is a button on the batter to push to turn the charging on. While you are running/charging off the battery, the blue lights will tell you about how much battery you have left: 3 lights, full; 2 lights, 2/3rds; 1 light, 1/3rd. I don't have a good way to tell you how many hours this battery will run before you needs to recharge it again, but my experience has been really good. It's not like I have to charge it up each day. I don't use it more than about once a week in an emergency when one of my devices needs a charge. High recommended! The battery is small enough to fit in most pockets, less than 3 inches x 4 inches and about 3/4 inches thick.

I bought this product reading some of the good reviews and for the price it should have worked too. The first charge went well although it ran out of power just after charging my smartphone only once. That was not a good sign. The next time I tried to charge my cellphone with it, it kept switching off and would need to be turned ON multiple times manually. I give it two stars because of its looks and light-weight design. May be it was my bad luck but i returned it asap.

The car charger works great! I have not spent a lot of time using the wall charger because I also have the dvr dock. But even with that the first time fully charging the Archos 605 took over 14 hours. A must have for travel.

The idea of tip exchange is pretty ingenious, but unfortunately the concept that makes this product so appealing is also its biggest engineering flaw. The exchangeable tip introduces a point-of-failure to an otherwise solid product. I have used mine for my Archos in my car for less than a month when the car charger ceased to charge my product. When I looked into why, I noticed the tip had become loose and moved around with only the slightest pressure from my thumb. I took the tip inside to try it on the wall charger, which also did not work. When I jiggled the tip around to try and re-seat the connection, the tip began to smoke. This tip is now in the trash. This may not be a typical experience, but beware the poor design of this product.

I love my Archos 605 WiFi, but I'm not very happy with the way Archos limits their software and accessories for the 5 series. If they even offer a power accessory like this one, it's hard to find and usually quite a bit more expensive than what I paid for this kit. The kit works very well, and the tip exchange options help keep costs down. Nice job Gomadic!

I just recently bought this amp with a Planet Audio 12" 2400 Watt Sub 4 ohm DVC wired for 2 ohms in a custom ported box. Lets just say my 2010 Ford Fusion is bumping so loud that I had a couple of picture frames in the house fall off of the wall. This amp is a beast. It handles anything I can throw at it without much draw on my battery or stock alternator. The amp is cool to the touch after 2+ hours of constant abuse. I would definately buy this. You wont find a better amp for the money. I went through 2 amps of the same price range and power and had problems with both. I am extemely pleased with this purchase. I would also recommend building or having a custom box built to spec for any system. It will make the world of difference in sound quality and bangin' bass.

Let me start off by saying that this amp is exactly what it is a really great built amp. The heat sinks on the sides are pretty sharp fresh out of the box so be careful. I really wanted the BRZ1200.1d but they were out of stock and for 100$ more i got the 2100.1d and im only running it on 3 ohms on 3 10" Kicker 07cvr102, my db is at 1/2 and my knob is at 1/4 my head unit has bass boost but since im getting more then enough power im keeping it off. I have been thru so many off brand amps like PA, Crunch and even name brands like Rockford and Kenwood even the jl 500/1, i will admit that the JL has a better damping factor and i love accurate bass this amp is about 290 Damping factor so im still getting tight and accurate response. 0 Gauge this bad boy down nothing less, and if your planning on running a factory battery and alternator, i advise picking up a kinetik khc battery, not that this amp drains my battery but to really yield its full potential i'd spend a extra 160$ but if your on a budget just make sure you have your stock electrical system checks out, i have this system inside of a tattered 98 Nissan Altima, but inside of a well built car like cadillac this system does more then the job. I recommend this amp to any and all who are looking for power under priced. DONT ABUSE IT AND IT WILL BE WORTH IT. ( meaning please wire your speakers in accordance to your subs and amps owner manual for 1ohm stable levels)

This amp has a lot to offer. Never mind the sharp edges. The Hifonics Brutus 2100 runs fairly cool to the touch and delivers power that will rock everything from your vehicle to the cars parked next to you. I have run this amp tor a few months now with flawless performance. very happy with this product

This amp is amazing. It has the exact same board as AQ/SQ 2200. The amplifier never gets hot, Ive ran it for a solid 2 hours straight and never got hot. Puts out clean power and LOUD! Doesn't distort, doesn't get dirty, and it definitely turns heads haha. Great product, hifonics is dope.

I found one of these kits locally (for several dollars more) to use with the families latest generation ipods, four 4g and 8g Nanos and two 80g Classics. The cable works as well as the OEM cable to sync or charge. The power adapters work perfectly. On the Classics the charging symbol does not come on but they are charged nonetheless. This is an inconsequential annoyance--the cost/benefit ratio remains well on the plus side.

Husky Liners 99801 WeatherBeater Black Front and 2nd Seat Floor Liner

Husky Liners 99801 WeatherBeater Black Front and 2nd Seat Floor LinerGot these for my 2013 Subaru Impreza WRX Hatch. All the mats fit adequately to do their job. They will definitely protect the car and carpet, but you can tell that they are not an exact fit. There are countours in the edges of all the matts that do not line up with the car, leaving small gaps or wrinkles. Also, the drivers side has two holes meant to lock into place with two gromets in the car's floor, only one of these holes lines up. All in all these are functional for my car, a little disappointing that both Amazon and the manufacturer list my vehicle for this item, but not such a poor fit that I care to do anything about it. If you have a different vehicle, all I can say is double check the Amazon and manufacturer listing for compatibility, but even that might not be enough.

These floor mats fit a 2012 Subaru impreza perfectly. We couldn't be happier with them. No more grinding dirt into the carpet on the edges since they wrap much higher than the oem all season mats

My vehicle is a 2013 Subaru Impreza Hatchback

The driver side liner covers my gas tank lever. Customer Support was very unhelpful, I had to keep pressing to get the information I needed. They finally said I need to trim that but did not bother to send me instructions. If I am cutting up the liner to make it fit, that is not a custom fit.

In the back, there are 2 lumps where the fit isn't correct and the liner does not lay flat against the floor board. Also the liner sits in the existing space and there isn't a lip so if you spill anything on the edge, the liquid will just roll underneath the liner.

Do not buy!

eForCity 12V DC TO 110V AC POWER ADAPTER INVERTER FOR CAR OUTLET

eForCity 12V DC TO 110V AC POWER ADAPTER INVERTER FOR CAR OUTLET
  • Converting DC power outlet into an AC power outlet (with DC power) for some small electronic appliances.
  • Just plug this inverter in to any 12 Volt DC power outlet, like those found in a car, RV or boat.
  • An intelligent sensor checks with the output/input compatibility with your electronic device. When the LED lights up, that means the converter can power the device. If the LED light does not illuminate, disconnect the electronic device from the converter.
  • Input: DC 12V / 500mA. Output: DC 100V-240V. Max Output Power: 5W
  • NOTE: Not for large electronics like laptop computers, DVD players, printers, etc.

I received this item, pluged it into the car, and it didn't work. Not at all, nothing. Piece of junk.

I bought this to act as a DC to AC converter that could run off of a 9 volt battery. Worked well enough that I'm buying a second one. It will work fine in a car also, you just have to remember that it's meant for low current. It would probably charge a cell phone, but nothing with a high draw such as a laptop.

3.5 Inch TFT LCD Monitor for Car / Automobile

3.5 Inch TFT LCD Monitor for Car / Automobile
  • 3.5" Car monitor High Definition Car Color TFT LCD Monitor Rearview DVD w/PAL/NTSC
  • With AV input, it can connect with reversing camera, DVD, VCD etc
  • With PAL/NTSC two systems, it supports two ways of video input V1, V2.
  • It can support multi-role display, suitable for reversing camera or reverse sensor
  • It can connect with car backing system.

Ok, Thing Works just fine. Good display. I got this for my DOD Gs600 dvr dash cam..

Only down fall is it comes with a power chord that plugs in and then has to be hard

wired into something for power. What I did was took an extra Car charger, usb kind, and spliced

it, connected it to the moniters power wires, plugged in the usb car charger, connected it to

the moniter and then the yellow and white chords to my dVR thing, and Bingo Bango, we got video..

Here's the deal, thirty bucks and a little creativity with no issues later. The screen in nice too!

or spend big bucks and have the same outcome.. thats all folks!!

Buy 3.5 Inch TFT LCD Monitor for Car / Automobile Now

I purchased this monitor along with a Koolertron Rear View License Plate Back Up Camera. Shortly after receiving these items I ordered an additional back up camera. Since the monitor has a 2-line in-feed I was going to use one camera on the back of my truck and another camera on the back of my pull-behind trailer. I installed the first camera and the monitor in my truck and they worked fine. However, after one day the camera stopped working.

When I received the 2nd camera I wired it into the monitor and discovered that line 1 no longer worked, but line 2 was working. Because I needed both lines working I ordered another monitor and camera and am in the process of returning the first monitor and camera.

I've now received those items and have both cameras installed and feeding into the new monitor. So far everything is working great! (knock on wood). I don't know what went wrong with the first install, but now they are all working and I love the picture quality! I'm always amazed how low priced after-market items are often better than the standard OEM items. The picture quality that I get with these two $15 rear-view cameras and a $25 monitor far exceed that that came standard in our Lexus RX-350.

Three stars simply because of the first failure but if the replacements keep working then it's 5 stars!

Read Best Reviews of 3.5 Inch TFT LCD Monitor for Car / Automobile Here

I just got mine today. It came in a plain white box with pretty useless instructions. I am still not sure what the voltage is, I am guessing 12vdc since it is a common voltage for small LCD screens and it is meant to be installed in a car. To be on the safe side, I powered mine up on a 5v pack. It requires a little soldering, nothing a radioshack iron can't take care of. Without a TV signal, the backlight flashes blindingly bright on for a split second and shuts off. When you connect a TV signal, it picks it up pretty quick. The plastic frame feels a little higher quality than most cheap Chinese products. It almost looks like an iphone in an odd way. The display isn't retina resolution but for 20 bucks, I am very happy with it. The menu is just the generic, contrast, brightness type deal with the occasional misspelling. There is one menu option that allowed me to flip the screen upside down and invert/mirror in both orientations. This obviously is good for using it as a monitor while reversing. The only minor thing I really don't like is that the buttons on the back actually make pressure point ripples on the LCD. I am afraid it will crack the screen eventually.

I do not actually intend to use this in my car though. I actually intend to use it with an arduino and RC FPV projects. (A back up monitor, I would not recommend this as a primary at all) For $20 with free shipping, I am thinking about buying a second one to use in my car though.

EDIT!

I have done a little experimenting with this LCD and it actually seems to have a large voltage spike on start up. So much so that it actually burnt out a 12v camera that was connected to the same power source. If you are going to use this, I recommend a diode and a suppressing cap on the battery line.

Want 3.5 Inch TFT LCD Monitor for Car / Automobile Discount?

I'm using this as a backup camera monitor and it's great for that purpose. The controls are on the reverse and allow you to flip or rotate the image as well as adjust the contrast, etc.

The mount is a ball-and-socket on the rear of the monitor, but the socket is definitely too small to accept the 17mm Garmin Nuvi vent mounts. You can make your own vent mount with a jumbo binder clip and rubber bands, though.

The power input is a 2.1x5.5 mm (female) jack, which is also the type used for most auto cameras. The monitor comes with a power cable that has the male jack on one end and exposed wires on the other as "pigtails" so you can splice them yourself (as suggested by the Perry, OH reviewer, you could cannibalize an old phone car charger for this). It takes 12V DC. Alternatively, instead of using their power cable I bought this power adapter which works fine: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003BA1E2Y/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01 ("12V Boombox Cigarette Lighter Power Adapter")

The video input is a standard RCA plug. I tested it with my dvd player before moving it out to the car. The monitor will not turn on (except for the initial screen flash) without a video input.

I purchased three of these to act as side monitors for video while we work here at the office. I was worried that the screen would have those little backup perspective lines, but you don't have to turn that feature on. I am going to see if I can upload a little shot of the player and monitor in action.

We are using the AV connections and putting it through a 1-in 4-out av distribution amplifier. It works great! My only issue was in the fact that it didn't come with a power supply. and I blew a few fuses finding out which old power packs worked. It wound up that a 12volt 500ma center positive power pack worked best. You can get them here for a few bucks. I tried Radio Shack, but the same power pack was thirty dollars! What a rip-off Radio Shack is becoming. (The fuse that seemed to work well by the way was the slo-blo 1 amp 250 volt 5 X 20mm).

I am hoping these details will help people avoid delays in getting the unit up and working if you are going to use it in the same way. The video player I am using is the Incredi-Sonic one I bought nere. That thing is amazing too. I will be writing the review for that one next. One last thing to note. When you plug it in, it seems like something is wrong because it flashes and goes dark. The problem is that it won't power up until it has a valid signal. So that info may help you avoid that confusion.

I hope you enjoy this monitor as much as we do.

Thank you for your time.

Odyssey 75/86-PC1230DT Automotive and LTV Battery

Odyssey 75/86-PC1230DT Automotive and LTV BatteryFor those that don't need it, then you probably don't need to spend the money. But if you need a dry battery, this is the one. It can sit for up to 2 years without having to charge it and without going bad. It can handle the heaviest off-roading you can throw at it without damage. And it has more reserve power than just about any wet cell battery there is...this thing goes forever. Don't drive your car alot?; do serious off-roading?; or just need tons of power for high-end stereos, etc? ..then get this battery and you'll never have a problem again.

I put this battery in my wife's 2007 Chevy Aveo LT.

Why did I spend $300 for a battery? Here are my reasons:

A.) I never want her to have a dead battery and be stuck somewhere with the kids. With this, even if one of the doors isn't shut all the way and the interior light stays on, she should have a fighting chance that the car will still turn over (despite what some have told me... speculators).

B.) Lifespan of the battery. I have heard these guys can last 10+ years. Wow.

I did some research on the Optima and the Odyssey and came back with mixed reviews on the Optima. Most said when they (Optimas) were made in the US, they were great. Now Optima has moved production to Mexico (call it "maximization of profits!") and as a result, the quality has dropped somewhat. The Odyssey is made by a company called Enersys, which produces batteries for aircraft and military applications. Clearly, we see which battery is the better of the two. Enough said.

However, you can spend up to twice the amount of $$ for an Odyssey Battery in comparison to the Optima.

I have only had this battery in the car for three months. The only complaint I have is that the label on the top of the battery has an air bubble underneath it; however, this COULD have something to do with the car's battery fastener (over-tightened, maybe?).

BUT, about four days ago, I left the trunk/decklid open on the car (which has a light in the trunk area). This was

open for every bit of 9-10 hours, all night long and into the morning. WIDE open, illuminated the whole while. I cringed when I noticed it the next morning on my way to the office.

Needless to say, the car cranked right over, battery had FULL power from a night of lighting up the trunk.

That's what 760 COLD CRANKING AMPS does, and will continue to do for a long time.

Oh, by the waythis is a durable battery, but it has thin plates of pure virgin lead in it. The thin plates are crucial to the lifespan and function of the battery. If you can, order this battery from Batteries Plus (they will pull your old battery and install your new one for you) -not Amazon.com. I have heard horror stories and witnessed the severe lacking of adequate shipping packaging that Amazon incorporates with their shipments.

If you trust Amazon with your $300+ dollar battery with thin plates of pure virgin lead... be mindful of the shipping.

Cheers.

Universal Apple iPod USB Charger Kit - USB Retractable Hotsync Cable - USB Home Travel Charger - US

Universal Apple iPod USB Charger Kit - USB Retractable Hotsync Cable - USB Home Travel Charger - USB 12V Cigarette Lighter ChargerI picked this sucker up for $30 from Fred Meyer, after they made it clear that they had no other options available for charging my iPod from my computer (I was on vacation with no cord and a dead battery). I was only expecting it to last throughout the vacation, but I've been using it ever since.

I keep the car charger in my car, with no extra cables to burden it, and I keep the wall charger plugged into the wall. The cable retracts easily, with a design much like that of a window blind (pull until you let go, where it locks, and then pull a bit more and let go to release).

It's a small, unobtrusive, and incredibly convenient device for your iPod, and at this price, it's a steal. You'd pay two or three times this at some electronics stores for the wall charger or car charger alone, let alone one that is so solidly constructed.

No question -if you own an iPod, purchase this product. I was impressed enough to come and write this review -perhaps you will be too.

This kit is one that no iPod user should be without. The pieces are well constructed, and the wall charger beats Apple's own overpriced model. Also reasonably priced. I am very satisfied with this product.

The product was exactly as pictured, and I am VERY pleased with the construction and price. I am THRILLED that I can use the same cord for different components this saves on storage space!

This is a WONDERFUL product at a fantastic price! I highly recommend it to any iPod owner!

NOTE: as of 11/30/08 the car charger attachment does NOT seem to charge my iPod. I haven't done anything to it to make it not work, it just won't work anymore. Since I am way past the warranty I guess I need to buy a new one. Not a problem since it is so inexpensive.

Read Best Reviews of Universal Apple iPod USB Charger Kit - USB Retractable Hotsync Cable - USB Home Travel Charger - US Here

On paper (i.e., computer screen) it looks like an unbeatable deal. In person, though, it looks and feels cheap, and performs accordingly.

I used both chargers with the retractable dock cord on several trips. They worked fine for about 3 months, then the car charger died.

When I called BargainCell for a replacement, they told me I'm out of luck. The items are only guaranteed by BargainCell for 30 days, and they can't even refer me to the manufacturer because the product "comes from China and there is no warranty."

Luckily I'm only out a few bucks because this package is so cheap. But I now have the hassle of researching and buying a replacement. Don't make the same mistake I made!

One thing nice to say: I love the retractable USB dock cord, as it eliminates cable clutter in my car's glove compartment.

Want Universal Apple iPod USB Charger Kit - USB Retractable Hotsync Cable - USB Home Travel Charger - US Discount?

Everything seemed poorly constructed when I got the set in the mail. Then things started falling apart. The car adapter comes apart everytime you try to unplug it. Every time! So I stopped using it so that I don't get the parts stuck in the cigarette lighter plug. The home charger was fine at first, but it too fell apart. One of the prongs came out in an outlet! it is so dangerous. I almost got shocked.

At a quick glance it looks like a perfect match. But the guts (circuit board) of my Cadillac remote will not fit inside this shell. The shell is about an eighth of an inch to small and it's not worth the risk of damaging the board to try and trim it. And the rubber button pad is thicker and bigger than the original so without trimming it won't fit in the old case.

Save your money (plus $4.26) and buy some superglue, clean the lint and gunk out of your old case and glue it back together.

Car Holder ECS-K1F2BE for Samsung I9250 Nexus

Car Holder ECS-K1F2BE for Samsung I9250 NexusWe use this for roadtrips or anything that might take a while. I have a VERIZON LTE model (yes i know, this is for the other model of the nexus). That being said, around the internet there's some words on the modifications needed to make a LTE model fit. Few different ways to go about it but the general idea is to make the holes for the volume and power buttons larger as the LTE is a bit thicker, the buttons sit closer to the front than on the other model.

The method I used was to use a poking device (butter knife or something, not sharp) to pop the volume and the power buttons out of the shell and then to use an appropriate diameter drill bit to elongate the inner hole (its got an outer shell and an inner, the hole on the inside needs to be elongated). Then I used a dremel with a sanding disk to widen the inside holes. That about sums it up. Put the buttons back in it and the phone pops right in and doesn't have a fit.

Takes some practice but you just want to pop it in there, not cram or solidly seat. The pins still don't completely line up so if you jam one side in more than the other it won't pickup the pin connections on the side. or the audio will be intermittent.

Second comment, need to get the apk for the google car dock app, typically found alongside the car dock modification info. its called cardock. side load that to your device and when you drop it in the dock, it rotates landscape and launches cardock. no app? no big deal, it'll still rotate landscape but you'll have to hunt and peck for your pandora app or whatevers.

Audio out works great, music is awesome.

Wanna use the phone? Get a bluetooth. cardock is intelligent and will turn on the bluetooth when you dock the thing and actively sync to your earpiece. wasn't made to use the car speakers (privacy reasons.)

Charges the phone, and keeps it topped up when you're navigating with the gps on and the radio streaming.

Fits with the OEM extended battery and extended battery cover.

the biggest downside to this all is that with the extended battery i have two options go naked, or use the sycrilic case, the soft inner with the hard outer shell. so if i'm rocking the case, obviously, i have to take it out of the case to dock it. which is a slight pain in the butt to do that EVERY DAY for my commute or whatnot, so its why I only really use it on car trips and then the phone is au natural for the weekend.

Hope you like this, the info is out there on the interwebs for this mod if you need more than that, but it works, and works awesome.

Oh and the suction cup is a monster... (my silly garmin still falls every so often, this guy stays on teh windshield while you manhandle it to get your phone back. oh yeah, btw, this dock WANTS your phone. and it will not give it back. you must want it back to get it out of the thing, but thats what the popout hole is for just jam your fingers in there and the phone flies out at you angrily and bounces off the dash into your coffee so be careful out there!... okay, so I didn't do the coffee bit, but it did fly out the drivers side and i saved it with my sneaker. 'nuff said there.

I had been looking for this dock since I bought my Galaxy Nexus from Google. They suddenly stopped selling its accessories and other docks didn't have the pogo pins and were in reality just stands for the Nexus. This is a genuine Samsung product the real deal with the pogo pins. Syncs your phone into car mode and turns even the home screen to landscape.

Careful however if you sync your phone to your car via bluetooth; make sure it is synced before docking otherwise it becomes a headache to connect the audio to the car via bluetooth if you dock first.

Excellent dock!

Pros: Solid mount, uses pogo pins, good quality charger included

Cons: Difficult to insert and remove phone from dock. Charger only has 1 USB output (most of the others I've used have 2). Arm that holds the dock is VERY wide, make it hard to see around if mounted on the windshield.

i was looking for for a long time. unfortunitally Google's relationship with Samsung has soured a bit so the phone and it's accessories was quickly replaced which is a bummer because it leaves everyone buying into this (truely) first nexus phone stranded. after all this car holder is the real deal. the fitting of the phone into car holder or taking the phone out requires a bit of effort. this is not for everyday use in my opinion. there have been times where i was worried about having damaged the phone while inserting or removing the phone. otherwise this car holder beats any other i have seen so far

Returned this product. Fit was way too tight and therefore difficult in removing phone from mount. Pogo pins didn't work either. Not worth the money. Bought another generic one here on Amazon for only $9.99 that works much better even without the pogo pins.

The product is not perfectly fit onto the 17 inches rim. Easy to program. When I reached the speed at 65mph, the steeling wheel starts to vibrate.
