Motorcycle / Bike waterproof Handlebar Mount

I ordered this waterproof case so that I could mount my Garmin nuvi 255w auto GPS to the handlebars of my mountain bike. The case arrived and included the mounting bracket, as well as foam inserts that allow for padding, in case you have a smaller GPS. It fit my nuvi 255w perfectly and will easily fit a Motorola Droid, or the newer, larger Droid X (which I plan to be using the case for once I upgrade my cell phone).

The mounting bracket installed in seconds. The clamp which goes around the bar is already rubberized and has small ridges that help secure it tightly. The bracket also includes a ball socket, allowing you to rotate it to a portrait orientation if needed. It allows for about 40 degrees of movement from center, letting you tilt the unit if needed. The front window is clear plastic and feels heavy enough to withstand regular usage. My Garmin touchscreen still worked just fine through the plastic. The zipper which encircles the case is vinyl and hides the zipper track, creating a rainproof seal. My GPS/phone will definitely be safe even if I get caught in the heaviest downpour. There is a quick release built in to the bracket as well. It requires a little force to remove it, which is a good thing. I'd rather have it too stiff than have my GPS falling off. There is also an access port at the bottom of the case, in case you need to run headphones and/or power.

I never take the time to write reviews, so I hope this goes to show you how impressed I am with this product.

This case is terrific! I have it on my Yamaha V-Star 1300 Tourer for about three months, and it works very well.

Pros:

Fits 1" handlebars perfectly, no slipping, secure feeling.

Fits Nuvi 255W just fine.

Easy to use the touch screen through the plastic.

Great value of cost and function.

Easy to remove case from handlebar mount to store GPS.

Can use the cradle the GPS provides if you don't want to use the waterproof case.

Opening for wire is great for power cord, yet is flexible enough to keep water out.

Easy to adjust the angle to accommodate different handlebar bends.

Cons:

Cannot turn off unit without opening case (but that's the tradeoff for waterproof, though).

Lightweight plastic construction makes me a little uneasy, looks like the handlebar mount can crack if accidentally overtightened. But again, this is a great value item. If I wanted commercial grade, I would have bought the more unsightly RAM mount.

Not able to permanently affix to handlebars, nor is it lockable but hey, what more do you expect at this price?!

I purchased this mount for my Nuvi 260 and it mounted great to my bike. I ride a Kawasaki KLR 650 and it looks great on it. I have no complaints about the durability of the mount itself, nor how the waterproof case connects to the mount. Solid Product and I would recommend it!

Here is what I found after riding with this thing on my bike for 1 day.

1. It rained the first day that I installed it, which gave me a chance to test it's "WATERPROOF"ness. The pouch was sealed before the rain started and I rode without touching it for about 20 minutes. In those 20 minutes, the pouch filled up with water. The water collected at the bottom of the pouch. The lining turned into a sponge and separated from the bottom.

2. It is also not clear if the pouch is securely attached to the mount. I removed the pouch from the mount, while I was assessing the water damage. Afterwards, I put it back on and continued to ride. A few minutes later, I accidentally bumped the case as I was stopping. The pouch separated from the mount, fell on the ground and got driven over by 2 cars.

Luckily, I was just testing it out and did not have my $500 cellular phone in there as I was intending to.

Also, I agree with one of the other reviews. This this is ugly. It protrudes very high.

Purchased this to mount my Garmin 765T to my Honda VTX1300R. Works great and have used it in some light rain. GPS is behind a fairing so this mount will have no problem keeping mine dry. Easy to mount and included some rubber spacers which keep it from rotating on the bars while pushing the touch screen and protect the bars from scratching. Took it on a 280 mile trip and was able to tighten the screws a bit when I checked them at the destination, so I would recommend a little blue Loctite to keep vibration at bay. If the screws loosen fully you will lose the nut out the back of the mount. I glued the nuts in from the back so this won't happen. The nuts are recessed in a hex well so only a screwdriver is needed to tighten things up. Very intelligent design feature since most bikes have windshields which make getting a wrench behind the mount difficult. Granted the mount is plastic but it is a thick high grade plastic and I have no worries about it's durability. Touch screen works fine through the clear front panel with no reduction in visibility. Mount holds the GPS in place well, never vibrated down while riding and it takes a firm push to displace it once positioned. The locking collar on the ball swivel never came loose due to vibration after 600 miles on the trip. GPS was a breeze to fit into the case due to several sheets of foam that come with the mount and can be stacked until the unit is kept in place tightly and even cut to make room for your power cord should it not plug in at the top or bottom. I mounted mine with the power cord coming out the top so the zipper tab wouldn't scratch my speedo cover. Very nice mount and I highly recommend it. Excellent value and quality.

So far i'm impressed with the spotlight, it works as described. It has the most perfect weight for carrying around, just light enough to not being annoying. I would say the only con to this product is the charge time, it's 24 hrs, right long wait for 40 minutes of use. But it's worth it in the long run when you need the spotlight. Also, it holds it's charge better than listed, the little light lasts almost 7-8 hrs solid on, and the spotlight itself lasts 35 minutes solid on till a dimmer view of the light. I would recommend to anyone looking for a spotlight you need on the boat (dc recharge), and for walking through the woods at night.

positive: great idea to put a 3-bulb LED light in addition to the powerful one. Also, the adjusting handle allows you to set down aimed at a specific angle.

negitive: 1)somewhat bulky, 2)NOT as powerful as my 2-million CP spot that I keep in my car and 3)batterie recharging time is 16-18 hrs-way too long!

Overall: it works fine but I wouldn't buy it again

this is such a great light, super bright! I use it to walk my dogs. Only problem is that is does not last long, this is my third one and this one lasted the shortest time, three months. I charge it as directed. Such a shame because I really like this light, wish it would last longer.

I was looking for a flashlight with a top handle and this one fit the bill. The price was right and I am basically very happy with what I received. I am disappointed with the fact that when you plug in the flashlight for charging, that there is no LED indicator for when the charging cycle is completed. The fact that it is all black and not gray and black as shown in the picture, is a very minor concern. I haven't used it very much but it appears to have a long range beam that reaches across my valley here in the mountains of North Carolina, appears to travel 150 yards on a clear night.

I've had 3 power converters in the past. Two died because the internal fuses did not blow but the units did and one black and decker wouldn't put out enough power to keep my laptop running. This unit has been flawless and with the terminals instead of the cigarette lighter adapter I hard wired it to bypass the car key. It is small enough to sit at the ready tucked into my glove compartment. This is the best one for the job.

I ordered 2 of these. The remotes were extremely easy to program at arrival, just had to cycle my key 8 times and push a button on the remotes. The keys work and programed once I got them cut however I have no clue what brand they are. The keys are generic with 'A' marking on them. So far I have had no issues and would buy again if needed.

I bought this mount hoping it would fit my HTC Thunderbolt with the wireless charging cover on it. The cover makes the phone a bit thicker in one spot and subsequently made my official car dock from Verizon/HTC unusable.

This dock fits the phone with the extra thickness perfectly. It almost looks like they accounted for that if you look at the little groove in the picture. I'm not sure, but this dock might even hold the Thunderbolt with the extended battery cover (which makes it ever thicker in the same spot).

The dock was easy to set up and the phone locks securely into place. It's very easy to adjust the position of the phone and unlike a lot of docks it holds it securely without wobble. Only downside is that it doesn't dock it into charging like the Verizon one, but the port is unblocked so you merely have to plug it in.

So hard to find accessories for phones after they're no longer sold... the folks at the Verizon store looked at me like I was crazy for asking for accessories for a phone that was a year old... how dare I expect that my phone wouldn't be obsolete in a year.

I've tried universal mounts for other phones in the past, and have always been unhappy with them... was ecstatic to actually find one designed specifically for the thunderbolt. Thank you Arkon I had been looking for months.

It works EXTREMELY well, and I have the extended battery. It's a very snug fit with the extended battery, but it does fit, and it's ROCK solid. I'm extremely happy with this purchase.

The mount seems VERY well made... several previous mounts of had felt very cheap, and indeed cracked or broke in fairly short order. This one feels solid, and leads me to believe it's going to last a while.

For the price, I felt like this was an incredibly good product for my phone. It held my Thunderbolt perfectly, allowed access to phone buttons and micro USB port, and suction cup never came off the windshield. I accidentally bought two of them, and instead of returning the 2nd one I decided to just keep one in each car since they worked great and were a very reasonable price. I have since upgraded my Thunderbolt to a Galaxy SIII and would very much like to buy another mount for my new phone from Arkon.

This is a very solid car dock for the HTC Thunderbolt. This will fit either the standard or extended battery on the Thunderbolt. Mounts securely to the windshield and hasn't fallen, even in the Texas sun. My wife uses this instead of the OEM car dock because of the extended battery.

So for the cash you won't be disappointed with what you get. This kit offers more than most do at an increased price. Now although it is not solid copper and is not quite 1/0 AWG more like 2/0AWG it is however as they say good enough for government work. It has served me well in powering a 4000/1 watt and a 1600/4 watt amps both in the Stax family of amps by Power Acoustik. I liked that the wire was very flexible and easy to strip and install of course once you get it past the fire wall and pull up the carpet. Alright, so this is a pretty decent package. the wire itself isn't that great, if you're looking for 0awg because you need to power a super sick fatty system then get some better wire than this. That being said, it powers my 1700watt RMS D class mono amp and my 1600 peak 4 channel speaker amp just fine. The wire isn't pure copper so you won't get the most power possible out of it but for the system I've got there have been no problems. On the plus the fused distribution block is reallllllly nice. That part alone runs for $30-40 depending where you shop, and the ground distribution block is also sweet which would run you about $20 alone. So really, you're getting the wire, ANL fuse and fuse holder (which is also poor quality) for like 10 bucks. All in all you get a sweet set up for the price, but highly NOT recommended to those who want to upgrade to a super powerful high quality system, other than that this is the way to go!

I bought this kit in November. I thought for the price the wires were a descent deal however, my kit was missing pieces from the battery terminal that made it useless. I had already run and cut the cables so I couldn't just repackage it and sent it back to amazon for a replacement so I tried to call the company (DB LINK) and they were nice but said they couldnt send me just the terminal, I asked if I could just buy it? Nope, send it back to amazon for a new one...Urrrghhhh! So I paid for the wires and a distribution block... bummer.

The price of $68 is a good deal for what it comes with. I have no clue how large 0 gauge is supposed to be so I can't comment on it like other reviews.

I will give all the negatives even though they are not that serious at all and will not prevent me from a future purchase. With that said, the battery terminal will not work unless you add a midi fuse but I can't find one at 250 amps so I bypassed it with some custom made parts.

The included fuse holder that takes an ANL fuse but is kind of cheaply made. I had to tape the sides to keep the top from opening.

The fuse seats on the fused distribution block were slightly smaller than the fuses that I put in so to tighten them down, it bent the metal parts on the fuses slightly.

Some of the Allen wrench screws of the same size wire had different sizes.

If you add a capacitor, you will most likely need 2 more ring connectors.

All in all, I thought that this was a great buy and I highly recommend it.

The wire is really nice, it does not break when you bend it and is extremly flexiable for its size. I looked at this kit because of its price, for $65 it is well worth the money. I'm not for sure if it is a true 0 gauge wire or not, but it is defentially 2 or maybe even 1 gauge. It came as advertised and with all of the accessories of very nice sturdy quality. Will consider DB Link products for sure in future builds.

The product indicated that it was for up to 1200 watts, now I knew that it would not be able to transfer that kind of power right off the top. Well what I didnt expect that 750 watts would melt the power wire all the way to the trunk. Yes it was installed properly and I had the fuse block installed 10cm from the battery and the actual housing for the fuse melted as opposed to simply burning out the fuse...not normal. Im not quite sure if I just got a bad kit or what, but I can tell you this I did not go get the same one to replace it. :)

I bought this for the "8 gauge wire". There is no 8 gauge wire in this kit. At best it's 12 ga., but I think it's closer 14 ga. I'll use the fuse block on another project so I kept it. Note: I'm an electronic technician. I know my wire gauges. This isn't only a rip-off, it's dangerous. If you run a 'real' 1200W RMS through this you're likely to start a fire in your car, somewhere buried, where you ran the wires. Somewhere you can't easily get to. Somewhere that's going to keep buring until the entire car is a complete loss.

Called customer service and the worker (who was very helpful) pointed me where to get the good directions online. During our conversation he agreed with me and laughed about how bad the instructions were.

I purchased this to connect my alternator but it was not applicable to my vehicle. It looks like it might have been handy IF I had a different truck. Perhaps there could be better advice as to what vehicles this kit fit.

Bought this item June 19th 2012. Unit worked fine, as advertised for 1 week. Then it started giving a "Device not found" error. Called USA Spec, I was told that sometimes an overflow of data occurs, just needs to be unplugged so it resets. Did that a few times until it finally started to work again. After a few days, the same problem. Reset it again, worked fine for a few more days.

This time, while I was in the process of unplugging and plugging, it started to work. I discovered that the black plug going to the back of the radio was intermittent.

I got on the phone with USA Spec, VICTOR asked me all kind of questions about the failure and for the invoice of the product. I quickly emailed it to him while we were on the telephone. After he reviewed it he said that I had to pay $20.00 for the harness/cable, that I did not pay full retail value for the product and therefore it had no warranty.

This is the first time that I hear this. Furthermore, he said that the company that sold me the adaptor is not a distributor of their products. Like I am supposed to know. I purchased from AUDIOSAVINGS through AMAZON, no problems whatsoever with them, they shipped the item promptly.

This could not be easier to install. Once I got my Dash open,(The only challenging part.) It just clicked right in and was working right away. Sound is great and there are so many control options, you cant go wrong. My only gripe is you cant put your entire ipod on shuffle without putting it on direct play mode, and you cant see song info in this mode. Kind of a bummer.

I installed the unit into my 2008 F150 and it took me about 10 minutes. The hardest part was putting the trim back around the radio (pushing the tabs properly to lock them in). Otherwise it would have taken 5 minutes.

I was using my iPod plugged into the line-in above the stereo, but it sounded pretty bad. The first time I played a song through this unit, it almost brought tears to my eyes. The sound quality is superb for MP3/AAC.

I was dissapointed at first that you can't select genres from the iPod (I knew this when I bought it), but I figured I would give a shot at making a play list for each genre and just pop all the respective songs into those. This solution worked perfectly. Now I have my playlists each named with a number in front (1-, 2-, 3-, etc) with 1 being mine, and 2 being my wifes, and the rest are each genre.

This unit fits the bill perfectly, keeping the factory radio in place and allowing me to dump all my songs into one play list and then turn on random play and enjoy.

Only one complaint...it seems to react slowly accessing the info from the radio when you are searching through lists, such as artists or albums. This may be the radio, the unit, or the interaction between the radio/unit/ipod. It's not enough to take away a star.

I have tried 4 headsets/headphones with the unit, following syncing directions carefully. I am an advanced tech user, with more than 30 years experience with high tech. The BLueSense Transmitter does not pair with anything I have tried. The company support phone number has no technical assistance and an email to them has gone unanswered. I will be returning the item.

Update: went back to first headphones tried and started again. It connected this time, so now I can listen to my Kindle with this unit. The other three still will not connect. Sound is very clear and clean.

Update 2: Tried it with two more older headsets and the GOgroove would not pair with them. Got a response from the company but it simply repeats the directions that came with it. I also tried reverse pairing with all the headsets and it did not help.

Update 3: It does pair with bluetooth speakers since it paired with two I had, the easiest was the Creative D90. What I have found in my extensive testing is that it does not pair with anything that normally requires a pairing code, such as cellphone earpieces. It does pair with headsets made for mp3 players and bluetooth speakers, but with some you have to reverse the pairing order.... first on, second on, etc. It should not be advertised as pairing with just about anything.

It does exactly what I need it to do. Enabled my Motorola S805 Bluetooth D.J. Style Stereo Headset to be paired with my TV, with the help of a connect cable "2 x RCA Male / 1 x 3.5mm Stereo Female, Y-Cable, 6 inch" which is used to convert my TV's audio output to 3.5mm jack.

Simply brilliant, easy to use, very bright and visible in daytime or nighttime. I bought this kit last week and installed it without reading the 1 page included instruction since I am a handyman by heart. I only glanced at the pictures in the instructions for few seconds.

I just received this kit today. After reading other reviews listed here, I was looking forward to getting it installed. The included screw in AC adapter would not work on my opener (older model Craftsman). It appears the socket is too deep and too close the the opener itself for this adapter to work. I tried another one that I already had, and it too would not work. I don't think anything other than a light bulb will work in my opener.

The lasers in this kit must get their power from the opener light in order to work properly, so it looks like I will have to look elsewhere. I also noticed the little plastic clips that are supposed to hold the lasers are really flimsy and nothing like the pictures on here. One of the 2 in my kit was already broken. That was disappointing given the price of this kit. I'm sure the lasers are good quality, but for the price I would expect the entire kit to be of good quality.

I was a bit skeptical if this product would a) Work during the day b) Be consistent because I have a very small garage c) Hold up to cold climates.

So far so good. I will come back to review again if something changes, but as of right now, it works as advertised.

This works great. My wife was always hitting the shelves in my garage and I thought I would give this product a try. The setup was pretty simple and I like the fact that it didn't require batteries. It pretty much does what it's supposed to so no real complaints. I'll update the review if any changes.

I own two of these excellent chargers they are very simple to operate and very durable.

The chargers are weatherproof, and you can permanently mount them in the engine compartment with the provided ring terminals, or just use the alligator clips.

The charger has a battery status indicator (low / full), and settings for Motorcycle, Car, or Gel battery. The charger cycles from trickle current, to pulses, and shuts off when the battery is full. There is no better charger for winter storage battery tending, bringing nearly dead batteries back to life, or just recharging boat batteries slowly overnight.

Finally, I should mention that the current version of the 3300 has some improvements over the already excellent older version (I now have one of each). The latest version includes:

This charger, as well as the current (more popular) Battery Tender chargers are both made in China. This charger seems to be superior to my Battery Tender chargers in that it appears to be well sealed, of a more modern design, spark proof. Enclosed in a two piece cast housing, not an aluminum box. The charging algorithms will bring back a sulphated battery in some cases. It has three different charging settings, and brought my sulphated APC UPS battery back to limited life. It is particularly well suited for small motorcycle size batteries as well as larger batteries. It may be left connected indefinitely.

My only complaint is the cheap power cord that gets as stiff as a broomstick in extreme cold. . . . . $%##@!! cheap plastic covered power cords, anyway!

I ordered 2 different chargers to maintain my gate opener's deep cycle battery (a simple 4 output charger with extension cords for charging other deep cycle batteries from amazon Battery Tender 022-0148-DL-WH 12V 4-Bank Battery Management System) and this unit has a far superior charging design.

The 4 bank battery tender does a simple fast rate charge then switches to a trickle charge at a constant voltage with 4 outputs.

This unit pulses the battery under charge and features 3 operating modes with different current outputs for different sized batteries. The selections are motorcycle which also works well for SLA gel cells or AGM batteries, standard automotive starting battery, deep cycle batttery, and off.

What makes the CTEK unit special is that it uses a pulse charge in all modes to attempt to desulphate batteries, while the battery tender does not. This method of charging has proven successful in restoring lead acid batteries that won't take a charge any more.

It comes with a waterproof 12V output cable and a set of clips or rings for permanent installation under the hood of your car. In addition to the LEDs for indicating the type of battery being charged, a second set is provided for empty, 1/2 full, and maintenance pulse charge mode.

There is also a noticable increase in quality between the battery tender and this unit small details like a water sealed housing and gaskets on the connectors indicate quality in manufacture.

For a single 12V lead chemistry battery this is a useful, well made tool.

This is the best charger ever. I have a lead plugged into my motorcycle, and 2 cars and I rotate it between the 3 of them and they start up like th battery is brand new. This will pay for itself just in not having to buy a new battery. Don't think you'll find something similar at wal mart for half the price. Don't go cheap as this is the best and well worth it.

This is a great charger. Our family van doesn't get driven much during certain times of the year so it sits in the garage. It's on its second battery and I am determined to keep this one fresh and topped off. The included dongle for for permanent installation makes this a snap, all I have to do is pop the hood and connect it up to the connector and I'm done. The charger automatically goes into maintenance mode where it keeps the battery nice and happy. I've also used this charger to revive an otherwise completely drained battery for a neighbor's car. He left an interior light on and discovered that the battery was completely flat two weeks later. I let him borrow this charger and it fully charged the battery over a weekend and the battery has not given my neighbor any more issues.

It costs more than some of the dumb battery chargers, but this one takes up less space, comes with valuable accessories, and provides enough current to properly charge larger capacity batteries. Two thumbs up!
