Wagan IN9438 12V Heated Seat Cushion with Lumbar Support (Black Velour)

Wagan IN9438 12V Heated Seat Cushion with Lumbar SupportBefore purchasing I read the reviews here, noting several complaining about the frailty of the 12 volt power plug. I purchased this model in November 2011. I also purchased this model: Wagan IN9738-5 12-Volt Heated Seat Cushion for a few dollars less. Each item is installed in a different car and gets routine use here in the chilly state of Michigan. So far, we've experienced no issues with the power plugs on either of the cushions. This model ('velour' material) does feel a bit nicer to the hand, but that's the only difference other than the shape and size of the cushions.

The switch for Off-Low-High is the same for each model and works fine and seems durable. I suppose if it were to get jammed somewhere near the seat rail of the car seat, it could be damaged when sliding the seat back and forth, but that hasn't happened to us. If your car has the type of 12 volt power outlet that automatically goes off when the car is shut off, you don't have to worry about the cushion accidentally draining your battery. One of my cars is like this. In the other car, we must remember to either shut off the seat, or unplug it. Not really a big deal, and the plug seems durable enough to stand up to repeated unplug/plug-in use.

The low setting is all we've used so far, and that's been warm enough. Maybe in January and February we'll need the High setting. With these cushions, we've found we don't need to have the heater blowing on High or even Medium. On long trips, we can take off our heavy coats and be a bit more comfortable.

As for the lumbar support in this model...with the bulky clothing we wear in the cold months, I can't say I notice it. Alternatively, maybe I don't notice it because of the differences between the seats in the two cars.

Neither of our cars came with heated seats and these products are the next best thing to the factory option. I believe they are worth their current prices even if they only last one winter, but I don't foresee that being the case.

Bought it for my wife and she loves it. But there are a couple issues. First and most important is that it does not have an automatic shut off. Twice we went out the next morning and had a dead battery. The other is that our Suburban has a seat mounted seat belt and an arm rest so the back straps don't hold the cushion in place. We have solved this by using upholstery "twist pins"

These work wonderfully. I bought two for my 3000 mile drive across the country and they keep you warm without ever feeling like you are on fire. And the very best part for absent minded folks like myself is that they automatically turn off when you turn the car off so you can't drain your battery!

I bought 4 of these for family Christmas gifts after we purchased a new car with heated seats. These work the same way and each family member has been VERY pleased with the performance. My next purchase will be 2 more for the back seat in my car. Unless you have cold feet, a heated seat can be more comfortable than having the car heating system on. And for long trips the extra lumbar support with heat is a "back-saver."

Want Wagan IN9438 12V Heated Seat Cushion with Lumbar Support (Black Velour) Discount?

This is a nice seat cushion. It is more comfortable (and fits the contours of a modern bucket seat better) than the other (Wagan IN9738-5) seat cover we have in our cars.

The lumbar support is decent but minimal. It's a soft lumbar pad slightly thicker than the padding on the rest of the cushion. It won't really help much if your seat lacks lumbar support, but it won't hurt, and is nice to have. My car has sufficient lumbar support, and the addition of this pad doesn't make it too much--just an extra, nice cushy feel in the small of my back.

As other reviews have mentioned, the bottom straps are...difficult. There will most likely be no appropriate items for you to fasten the 4 little straps (with clips on the end) to. The little elastic straps are just not long enough. An easy solution is to tie strands of cord or twine to appropriate fixation points on the bottom of your seat, and then tie or clip the pad's little straps to your cords, adjusting cord lengths as necessary. One of the cheap plastic clips broke in half (it was not abused by me) while I was installing it, but it was not needed, as I just tied the cord to the elastic strap instead. The missing star in my rating is for the cheap clips and the poorly designed straps on the bottom cushion.

By the way, if memory serves me correctly, somebody noted that only the back (or bottom?) provided heat. Their cushion must have been defective. In my unit, heat is evenly distributed throughout the back and bottom cushions.

By the way, don't be stupid like I was and plug this into your cheap multi-port 12v adapter without checking to see if the adapter's fuse is robust enough to handle the load. Fried my cheap little sub-$5 2-port adapter instantly. Just gave me an opportunity to upgrade, I guess.

Bluetooth Car Kit Speakerphone with Multi-point, Echo Cancellation & Noise Suppression for all Moto

Bluetooth Car Kit Speakerphone with Multi-point, Echo Cancellation & Noise Suppression for all Motorola phonesThis is my second one of these bluetooths. The first one didn't break, it got stolen from my car. I had it for about two years and I was so happy with it that I didn't want to replace it with anything else, so I'm glad they still make them. The battery seems to last forever. Every few months, I decide to recharge it just in case, but I've never had the battery die on me. I just don't get it, it never dies. I hear perfectly on it and I've never had anyone ask me to repeat anything or tell me they couldn't hear me. It couldn't be easier to program or operate. I hope this one lasts forever or that they never stop making them.

It was time to face the reality that holding a phone to my ear/face was not only unsafe, it was frustrating. I looked at a lot of options for a hands-free system and chose this one with my fingers crossed. That trick must work sometimes because this was an easy and effective way to keep the phone in my pocket and my eyes on the road. It was easy to set up and works well. Those I talk to have no problem hearing me with the unit attached to the visor over the driver's seat.

Downsides: I haven't figured out how to integrate it with the speak-to-call and message reading systems of the phone. I don't know if that will work, but it doesn't work out of the box. Also, I have to train myself to turn it off when I leave the car. It has such a long range that I can be 50 feet from the unit and it still picks up the calls so I have to put the phone on speaker to hear the caller. There's always something.

Keyless Entry Remote Fob Clicker for 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 Toyota Camry

Keyless Entry Remote Fob Clicker for 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 Toyota CamryI can't believe I hadn't thought to look at Amazon for this. My wife lost her remote to our 2004 Toyota Camry like 5 years ago and we've been managing with only one because of the crazy price the dealership was asking for a new one. A real pain in the butt. The remote came in the mail in a padded envelope right when the seller said I would. The remote we got was obviously used, but still looked better than our original one. The instructions to program it to our car that came with the remote weren't the correct ones but from having read other comments before purchasing it I knew to check on YouTube. It took me like 10 min to find the best how-to video (There were several) and another 10 to program it because I kept forgetting the correct pattern. I kept running upstairs to look at the video then back down to my car like 3 times before I got smart and wrote the silly thing down. Once I got the instructions it took me two tries before I got it right and programmed the remote. It works perfectly. It must have been a sight watching me opening and closing my car door, starting the motor and shutting it off over and over, and running in and out a bunch of times. I have no complaints. Well, just one. I wish I'd had the correct instructions from the start and that will cost them one star because now my neighbors probably think I'm crazy. But it was not that big a deal. The product looks and works great after 3 months. Will definitely recommend this seller to others.

I ordered this 2 1/2 years ago. Set-up was easy, and I paid a fraction of the price the Toyota dealer wanted to charge me. I'm still using it and very happy with it!

The clicker came with a business card which had a link with instructions on how to program the clicker to your car.

The website they send you to sucks balls, they instructions they give are just incorrect so you end up looking like a guy with OCD just opening a shutting your car door. Fortunately the real instructions took 30 sec to find on google so I'll still give it 5 stars anyway. Saves a ton of money over what the dealership will charge

Vector VEC043B 750 Watt D/C To A/C Power Inverter With Power Level Meter

Vector VEC043B 750 Watt D/C To A/C Power Inverter With Power Level MeterIt took me days and days of searching the web to become informed enough to make a decision as to which power converter to buy. Let me share with you a summary of the important things to know.

TYPES OF OUTPUT

Your AC equipment is designed for a sine wave, but only the very expensive power converters produce a true sine wave output. The cheapest AC power converters produce a square wave output. A mid price AC power converter (like the VEC043) produces a modified wave. Besides the price impact, there are trade-offs of what type of equipment you can use for square wave or modified wave.

Power tools have an AC/DC motor that works with all 3-types of outputs. If you only want to use power tools get the very cheap square wave power converter.

AC motors such as refrigerators need a modified wave. AC motors under heavy load can not start to spin using a square wave and even if it does "spin up," it will probably shorten the life of the AC motor to use a square wave.

The most sensitive AC equipment must use the true sine wave power converters. The worse case equipment is a cheap stereo or TV and their performance with a square wave power converter is completely unacceptable. A modified wave will work with all stereos and TV's, but some of the cheaper units will have a 60 cycle buzz in the sound and snow in the picture.

The VEC043 power converter performs well with most stereos and TV's, but not all of them, especially the cheapest units. It works with your power tools, AC motors, and computers. I personally felt it was the overall best choice, but if you want a true sine wave output, then be prepared to pay the big bucks!

NOISE

All of the manufactures write about the electrical noise of their power converters, but it is the audio noise that is important to me personally. I have a friend who uses a power converter in his car on a daily basis. He just bought a new Black and Decker power converter, and he says it is much quieter than his first power converter was. His Black and Decker power converter makes a whining sound that reminds me of a dentist drill, and I don't like it!

There is a small fan in the VEC043 and it makes a little more noise than my laptop, and about the same noise as my desktop computer or the kitchen refrigerator. Best of all, there is no whining sound.

CAR BATTERY

Everything electrical on your car is specified to work down to a minimum of 10.5 volts. Less than 10.5 and your car may not start. The VEC043 has an audio alarm that sounds at 10.6 volts. Nice feature!!!

Running the battery down below 10 volts is very stressful to the battery and may even damage the battery. The VEC043 shuts off at 10 volts which is another nice feature.

SPECIFICATIONS FROM THE VEC043 MANUAL

Output: 2 AC outlets (110VAC RMS 60 Hz @ 6.8 amps)

Input protection: internal fuses

Reverse input polarity protection: none

Low voltage alarm: sounds at 10.6 volts

Low voltage cut off: occurs at 10.0 volts

Weight: 3 lbs (1.35 kg)

Length: 10.7 in. (27.2 cm)

Width: 6.25 in. (15.9 cm)

Height: 1.75 in. (4.5 cm)

Warranty: 2 year limited

Operating temperature: 30 to 105 degrees F (-1 to 40 degrees C)

I have used in my fish house seems to work fine unforthunately the battery life does not last as long as I would like. I might of been better off getting the 400W unit vs the 750W, not sure if I needed this larger unit or not as I'm mostly using it to power a few lights and maybe a small fan. The unit does work, and the alarm feature of the battery getting low is a nice feature or a nuisance as it makes a noise that is un-pleasant to listen to. I tried to send in the warranty information to the address given and it was returned, not sure if the company changed addresses or what, I may go on line and see if I can locate the company and register my purchase that way

Big Crank ETX30L Battery

Big Crank ETX30L BatteryIt's no secret in the HD community hdforums.com etc as to who makes Harley batteries; it's East Penn Manfg.

This is the same battery absent the HD name and logo for $75 dollars less in a grey case. Top of the line

product that I usually get five years service out of hard to beat. As this battery also fits some other

recreational vehicles, it comes with cable side and top mount choices. Harley's use the side mount position

and included spacers make it a perfect fit. One note make it easy on yourself and use a drop of super glue

on the bottom flat edge of the spacer before to hold it in place before installing the battery. Prompt delivery

of a fresh battery that hasn't sat on a shelf for a year is a bonus too.

I have a modified 2001 Mustang Cobra ( not supercharged ) and I originally had a "Braille 15" light weight performance battery which cost $160 and lasted about about 1 year. When it was time to replace that battery I figured I would try something a bit bigger to get more cranking amps and also a bit longer life. The next size up for the Braille batteries is the "17" and then the "21". I decided to go w/ the 21 and that would have cost approx $188 but after doing a bit of research I figured out that the Braille batteries are essentially repackaged East Penn / Dekka batteries.

The "Braille 21" is the same as the East Penn / Dekka EXT30L, same size, casing and most importantly same cranking amps @ 400A. The most obvious difference is the price as the East Penn battery is essentially half what the Braille battery costs at just $99 plus free shipping from Battery Mart via Fed Ex ground which in my case took about a week shipping to Houston, TX from Rockville, Maryland apparently.

I've been using this battery for a week and it's started my 10.5 compression v8 Mustang like a champ. My car is also running on E85 so it's has to crank a bit longer when the temp gets bellow 60* but this has not been a problem at all. Not sure how it would work on super high compression or high boost supercharged engine but I would say this battery would do just fine for the majority of performance minded folks looking to shave a bit of weight.

Road Power 989 Anti-Corrosion Fiber Washers, 2-Pack, 6 and 12-Volt

Road Power 989 Anti-Corrosion Fiber Washers, 2-Pack, 6 and 12-VoltYou can't go wrong with these and should place them on all vehicle battery terminals after cleaning them. They are very easy to apply; red on positive, green on negative, between the battery and the terminal, on the post. Do this quickly as the car computer may require reprogramming if you do it too slow; if that happens it is easy to reprogram, just read your owners manual (it can alter window and door lock function). Before you start blow across the vents to dissipate and vapors that could explode with sparking, wear protective glasses and protective clothes (long sleeves) and wash your hands after. The liquid in the cells is very acidic and will eat through clothes and skin. This is a good time to add distilled water to the vent holes. Do not top them off but bring the level to the bottom of the venting ring; leave space to vent the gases, there is a slot. Close the cell caps. Use a wire brush on dirty or corroded or fuzzy (usually a white or green powder) terminals and connectors. Check your electrolyte, if you know how, to see if your battery is weak or has low/bad cells. If you have a lot of corrosion, cap the vents and mix about a tsp. of baking soda in a glass of water and brush it on with a toothbrush (if you get any in a cell it will kill the battery), it will foam up if there is acid, then rinse and dry before placing the washers and terminals. Remove the ground first, place the felt washer, replace the terminal, then place the positive. Reset your clock and anything with memory (GPS). Prepare for winter. If your battery is past the expiration date, replace it so you don't get stuck somewhere. Most good batteries do not live past their expiration date and can't be relied upon. Walmart and Costco batteries seem to be the most reliable according to reviews.

For anyone that has personally rebuilt an old car, these anti-corrosion washers are great.

This package comes with 2 green & 2 red felt-style washers. Each color comes with 2 sizes to fit a variety of battery terminals. The price is right, the produce is fine. A good buy.

Buy Road Power 989 Anti-Corrosion Fiber Washers, 2-Pack, 6 and 12-Volt Now

One of those small things that make life a tiny little bit easier. It is not very often that a battery post starts leaking acid, but when that happens, corrosion starts to eat the metal. A simple washer between the battery and the cable clamp costs next to nothing and slows the corrosion down significantly and doesn't add much to the weight of the vehicle.

It is still important to check the battery every once in a while, of course.

Love this product. Worth it for your cars. Just slam them on the battery and forget they're there, and the next time you have to work on it, no nasty corrosion crap. Your contacts won't get corroded so you won't get connection problems (which I had for a long time).

SuperTooth Buddy Bluetooth Visor Speakerphone Car kit-Black

SuperTooth Buddy Bluetooth Visor Speakerphone Car kit-BlackSUMMARY:

=============

This is a simple device and easy to use, but sometimes the Bluetooth stays connected through-out the house, while my truck is in the driveway. This is the main reason I give this 4-stars. Charging port is under the device and if you are running low, it is hard to keep it mounted while stuffing the charging cord in between the device and the sun-visor. That is a minor reason why I also give it 4-stars. [See Update at bottom, recently lowered to 3-stars]

What's in the box:

====================

1. SuperTooth Buddy bluetooth device

2. Car charger that uses mini-USB

3. Magnetic clip that allows you to use the device with the sun-visor closed or open

What I like about this:

========================

1. Simple to setup and use; it gets the job done!

2. I press the green button and I can do voice-dialing the same way as I do with just my phone.

3. Seems like a pretty good battery charge, seeing how I never turn it off... probably 2-3 weeks worth, but I do not make lenghty calls in my car

4. Good price

5. Good volume, nice and loud

6. Callers report my voice sounds clear, though they can tell I'm on a speakerphone

7. Seems to work well in this Texas heat, which probably exceeds 120degrees inside the car in July/August, my Motorola T-325 did not. [See Update!!]

What I don't like about this:

=============================

1. No caller id, it only rings or you have to look at your phone display for $20 more, the Jabra Cruiser2 and Motorola T-325 announces the caller's name!

2. Bluetooth signal is almost too strong. I've parked my car in the driveway and sometimes it stays connected. I kid you not, but I take aluminum foil and just wrap it around my phone when I come home and usually the bluetooth signal drops and it disconnects.

Why don't I just turn off bluetooth on my phone?? Well, more times than not, every time I turn off Bluetooth on the phone, I forget to turn it back on and usually it is when I am driving and the phone is not easily accessible. You don't want to go around digging for your phone, that's why you get a Bluetooth speakerphone like this :).

Why don't I just turn off the actual device?? Well, more times than not, every time I turn off the device, I forget to turn it on, and usually it's when someone calls me and only my phone rings, etc. At this point it is too late to turn it on and hope it pairs in time AND answer the call.

So my aluminum foil method is silly but it works. Just wrap it for a few minutes when you come home and it seems to stay disconnected. The next time you get in your car, it will auto-pair.

3. One time with my phone in a backpack in the back seat, it took almost 10 minutes after I went over a speed bump before it auto-paired. *Most* of the times, it pairs within a minute of getting to my car. I'll strike this as a freak occurrence and update this review later if it reoccurs.

4. You have to hold the power button for a full 10 seconds before it turns off, but then again, I rarely turn it off, for reasons mentioned above

5. The charging port is on the bottom of the device, not on the side, this makes it very difficult to charge while mounted on the sun visor or on the clip.

How does it compare to other devices I've used?

================================================

1. I've owned two of the Motorola T-325 and that device has *EVERY* feature I have ever wanted, from caller-id-NAME-announce, auto on/off, automatic low battery warning, long battery life, easy to charge while mounted on the sun-visor, wonderful wonderful device BUT POOR RELIABILITY. One flat out broke and the second one seems to overheat in Texas, it will connect and disconnect 10 times while driving. Both occurred outside the warranty period. If the Motorola T-325 was more reliable I'd still be using it. Motorola has a newer version called the Roadster, but I'm seeing the same reliability issues in the reviews.

How does it compare to other devices I've researched?

=======================================================

1. For about $20 more, the Jabra Cruiser2 seems to match the Motorola T-325 that I used to love, but the Cruiser2 does not have perfect reviews and no auto on/off. The Cruiser2 does do caller-id-NAME-announce though. If the reviews were more consistently better, I would've considered the Cruiser2.

2. The Motorola Roadster is a little more, but I am hesitant because of my T-325 reliability issues also, a lot of 1-star reviews...

3. The Jabra Freeway is brand new, but 3 times the price! If the Jabra Freeway drops in price by 60% I would consider it it also has caller-id-NAME-announce, auto on/off, etc. Does not have exactly perfect reviews.

So until the next perfect device comes out with really good reviews, I decided to save money and get the SuperTooth Buddy. In the pursuit of hands-free, it gets the job done, minus some of the nice frills of more expensive units out there.

[Update 9-6-2011]

I have now returned my SuperTooth Buddy for several reasons:

A. The first time I needed to charge it, I charged it for several hours until the "halo" light turned green. The next day I used it fine. The second day, it would not turn on at all. I charged it up again and it seemed to work fine for a few days....

B. With my phone in the cupholder, it did not auto-pair for another 10 minutes, this has now occurred 3 times. Sure, I can turn the unit on/off and or toggle my bluetooth and make it pair, but I shouldn't have to, it should automatically pair when in range. For battery-savings, perhaps *MY* phone defaults to checking every 10 minutes if it doesn't find a device for a long while, or it could be the SuperTooth, who knows, but other devices like the T-325 (and BlueAnt S4 and Jabra Freeway) automatically turns itself off and on, so this was never an issue before.

C. I decided to return it when it wouldn't turn on again 2 more times. The second time it happened, it worked on the way home after a short trip doing errands. The third time, I got a little Sherlock idea, and put the device on the a/c vent to cool it off (even though it was not too hot to touch). After just a couple of minutes, the device then turned on and auto-paired and worked fine since. So my assumption is that if it gets too hot in your car, that the device won't power on. (You can test if it is on by hitting the "Up" volume button, when it reaches max volume level, you should always hear a beep, regardless of being paired. Holding down the power button should also beep on/off, too. In my cases, the device would never turn on or beep, etc.)

Final Parting Summary:

=======================

With the 30-day warranty period almost over, I decided I needed to return it ASAP given the reliability issues I've seen related to Texas Heat so far. Too much finagling involved to make it work; things should just work out of the box. I still think 3-stars is fair because those of you in a much milder climate, might have great luck with this. When it works (and turns on) it is a pretty decent no frills bluetooth speakerphone, especially for the price. Like another review mentions, if you're sitting on your couch one day and go to use your phone and hear nothing, it is probably because the bluetooth is still connected in your car! hehehe. This is probably why the other manufacturers added *motion-sensing* auto on/off...

I bought the Supertooth Buddy for my Mother in law, as I needed something easy to set up, and operate without too many bells and whistles, and the Supertooth Buddy is it! Personally I am getting tired of the technical "arms race" with electronic devices. The Buddy does it's job well without having to jump through hoops. I read the manual, explained it to my wife, and she set it up for her Mother, no problems! To me that is the true test, as my wife isn't a gear head. If she can set it up, and my Mother in law can work it, then it passes the test. It is plenty loud enough for conversations, and the magnetic visor clip allows the Buddy to be swapped from one side of the visor to the other in an instant if one needs to change the visor position. A great bluetooth device for those of us who just want something simple that works. It comes with a car charger and USB to Mini USB cable to charge the unit. It does not come with a home charger, though one can use the USB cable to charge it using your USB port on your computer. Standby time is 1000 hours, so the lack of a home charger shouldn't be an issue.

I bought this several months ago and absolutely love it! It's so great to be driving and not have to worry about cords getting in the way. It keeps charged for almost a week and I use it several hours a day. It's so easy to use and charges in about an hour in the car.

I was fed up using bluetooth headsets with my iPhone. Everytime I seemed to want to use it, they were either not paired properly, battery dead or the person on the other end could not hear me properly.

So, I was looking for a hands free car kit. A full integrated one for my Audi A4 was about $400+. Too much.

So after some investigating, I came across this alternative.

What I really like about it, is that it just works. I charged it up using a USB mains adapter, 3 weeks ago, I paired it up with my iPhone (that took about 1 minute) and then clipped it onto my visor. I have not had to charge it since.

Whenever I walk up to the car, it beeps to say that it is speaking with my iPhone. From then on, it just works. Sound is clear in both directions. I just leave my Bluetooth on my iPhone 4 on. I know that when I step into my car, then it will automatically be working.

Want SuperTooth Buddy Bluetooth Visor Speakerphone Car kit-Black Discount?

Was doubtful when I ordered this item as most of the other hands free car kits I have used were more expensive. I was very surprised that this speakerphone is hands down the best I've used so far. It beats my Motorola, Jabra and LG in sound quality (both incoming and outgoing) and is very easy to set up and use. My other speakerphones all died after only a few months in the Texas heat. So far, so good on this model. Not a bunch of extras on this unit, but I really just wanted a hands free that I could understand the conversation clearly and that I didn't sound like I was talking in a coffee can. This is the unit. If you are looking for a good basic hands free speakerphone with excellent sound quality and ease of use, this is it.

Odyssey 34/78-PC1500DT Automotive and LTV Battery

Odyssey 34/78-PC1500DT Automotive and LTV BatteryThis battery is not cheap by any means but this is definitely not a case of false advertising. I have two in a Dodge Ram 2500 (diesel) and there is not a single bit of engine start hesitation even on the coldest of days. I live in Virginia so we are not talking about arctic conditions but all I can say is that they have operated flawlessly for the last four years without a single hiccup. Thanks for a great product.

The battery reads 12.86 VDC after six months sitting and the battery's age is over two years old. Any other battery technology would have been dead by now. Talk about maintenance free!!!!! No charging necessary. I used Optima before Odyssey came on the market. Even an Optima would have been dead after six months. Investment wasted. I see no reason why this battery will not last for ten years plus. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!!!

The battery was great, with lots of cranking power. No problems until one day the truck wouldn't start. The top posts showed plenty of voltage on the meter, but apparently the bonding to the positive side terminal broke internally, and this one was connected to my starting system, so guess what... no go. The side terminals have a design flaw because they should be better supported to prevent this kind of separation. Since I need both positive terminals in my set-up, this was a big problem for me.

Coleman Cable 08566 6-Gauge Heavy-Duty Booster Cables (16 Feet)

Coleman Cable 08566 6-Gauge Heavy-Duty Booster CablesThese are well-made and manufactured in USA!! There is not much to say about jumper cables, but some of the ones you see at automotive parts stores are pretty flimsy and the conductors look like they are significantly smaller than the gauge marked on the packages. These 6-gauge are suitable for cars with medium size batteries such as compacts or older models. For a new sophisticated car with lots of electronics and a big battery (BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, etc.), I suggest 4-gauge cables instead.

These cables are a good value. They work well enough if you're attaching them to automotive battery terminals; however, the jaws don't close together far enough to bite onto motorcycle/powersports type terminals, which limits their versatility.

After accidentally including my last set of jumper cables with the sale of my last car, I was in need of new ones!

These are long and heavy duty probably overkill for my 1.4L engine, but if you needed to jump a truck, they would be great. The whole assembly is well put together, with good, solid connections from the handles to the cables. They have worked great on a hybrid Highlander and Chrysler 300 (co-worker left the dome light on in the company car...).

If you don't have a lot of space though, skip this set since they are not small.

Mine just arrived. I pulled it out of the box and am concerned that the cable crimp looks weak. I expect eventually I will have to fix it if it gets used much. Other than that it looks like it will do the job.

I have not actually used these yet. I purchased them after having had need of them and not having any. The clamps are tight and cord is a good length. The only thing I don't like is that there is an opening under where you hold the clamps that has a bear wire on the other side. I am not sure if you would be able to touch it through the very small slit but it is something that I have kept in my mind. Over all pretty good quality. Not the kind you would use everyday.

Cyclops C18MIL Thor X Colossus 18 Million Candle Power Rechargable Halogen Spotlight

Cyclops C18MIL Thor X Colossus 18 Million Candle Power Rechargable Halogen SpotlightI purchased a similar spotlight by Cyclops approximately a year ago. I have used it three/four times. I went to use it again this week and it won't turn on. I tried calling Cyclops and their Customer Service number was busy 24/7 for three days straight! I ended up sending them an email. Another week went by and no response; I wrote them again. Still nothing.... bottom line is the spotlight worked great but if you need replacement parts like a battery or bulb forget it.

I had had the Cyclops C15MIL, rated by the manufacturer 15 Million Candle Power, before I bought this from Amazon. I tested the light intensity output of both only to find out that not only were they identical, but they also fell far below the fantastic claims of 15 and 18 Million Candle Power. ... Actually candle power rating is such a misleading method of rating light output that it should be outlawed!

Instead, I measured their Luminosity in terms of Lumen Units; both have registered identical readings of 1423 and 1417 Lumens respectively, where my older C15MIL scoring the negligibly higher rating.

I then removed both their Phillips 130 watt quartz halogen lamps and replaced them with a pair of Seoul H4 55 watt 6000K Xenon HID bulbs which were parts of an auto light replacement HID kit that I bought on eBay and hooked them to their Hella ballasts which came with the kit and tucked the ballasts under the reflectors where there is an ample volume for that. I resealed both spotlights, fully charged the batteries and turned them both on.

YeeeeeeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaaaaaa !!!!! The Sun shown at 11:00 PM PDST!!! .... I instantly ended up with a pair of Cyclops 4500 Lumens each, turning the Pacific Northwest late summer, early fall night into broad daylight at a fraction of the cost of buying an HID Spotlight.

This is the best spot light flash light I have owned. Great light concentration with total focus. The instructions are not clear on the recharging procedure. I e-mailed Cyclops twice and have never heard from them. It's too bad a company makes such a great product but has no product support. The light gets a 10. Cyclops gets a 0.

The light when new is fine. In about 6 months it started always having a dead battery making it necessary to be charged the 24 hours prior to anticipated usage (as if you schedule when you might need to look outside in the dark). The light when new would shine for over a half hour before needing a charge. In about 10 months it would only last 5-8 minutes and required the charge right before use, or the battery would not hold the charge. Now, my light is just dead. I paid like $100.00 for this light and I expect for the money that it would have lasted longer. I would buy a new battery for it, but I'm afraid the charger or charging circuit may not be any good and then I would only be spending more money on a junk product. It seems pretty cheaply made and I would not raise such a fuss about this product if it was like $25.00. At that price I would feel like I got what I paid for. So, now I am light shopping again.

I ordered two of these CYCLOPS C18MIL 18 million candlepower lights for Christmas gifts. One arrived with a shattered plastic body although the outer carton was fine. There was NO packing in the factory box allowing free movement of the Product during shipment.

A REPLACEMENT shipment arrived in the same broken condition even though the outer shipping carton packed at Amazon was perfect.

The manufacturer needs to pack the product in shock absorbing material as it's plastic construction is VERY fragile.

Peak PKC0TM 1 Million Candlepower Spotlight

Peak PKC0TM 1 Million Candlepower SpotlightI buy my husband a flash light each year for Christmas..so far, it's been a 27 yr tradition ..so when I found this one million candle power flash light last year I thought Id found the one to top all the past presents...and the first time out it worked great, he was thrilled..but with each use and recharge there after, it got weaker and weaker until about the 10th recharge when it wouldn't hold a charge for more than 1 minute...waste of good money on this one..Sorry, but I can't recommend it to anyone, we are very disappointed...So I am looking for a good flash light to give him this year..anyone have any ideas? lol thank you !

Purchased as an emergency light for my car. Charged it for around 24 yours and tossed it in my car. Used it a few days later to put on snow chains and discovered that it only worked for around 15-20 minutes. Also I wish had known before I bought it that the 12 V adapter is only for charging and cannot run the light! So once it's dead you are in the dark waiting for the battery to charge.

To be fair, the accessory LED light and the built-in AC charger are novel features.

This was the most expensive spotlight at a sporting goods store in Cedar City, Utah so I bought it as I've always believed that you get what you pay for and figured this would be a quality product. Charged it and went spotlighting jackrabbits the following night. Within 15 minutes it started getting dim and within 30 minutes was almost completely dead. Charged again and tried it with the same results. I would definitely not recommend this product to anyone unless you need a $40 doorstop.

I purchased this light at Pep Boys. Charged it up, per the manual As others have said, it worked for 10 minutes, and that was it. Totally useless. And these are the same people that make Peak antifreeze, as well as other products. Thus, I will not purchase any Peak products in the future. To send this back, and pay for postage and insurance, will be more than I paid for the light. Guess Peak knows this. What a piece of junk!

Want Peak PKC0TM 1 Million Candlepower Spotlight Discount?

This Peak Spotlight does not perform as I had hoped. This was on sale at a local store for roughly half the price as it is being sold on Amazon, and it really isn't even worth what we paid.

This does have some good features (built in AC charger, good mini-LED light, and a very solid body), but it does not last for much longer than 20 or 30 minutes when fully charged. I have also noticed that it loses it's charge if left unplugged, so it lasts for even a shorter time when you need it. The car charger works to charge the spotlight but it can't directly power the spotlight.

We keep this plugged in at all times now in our shop so it will be ready for use when we need it. I had hoped to keep this in my truck for emergency use but the inability to hold a charge makes it unsuitable for that use.

Garmin Nuvi Hardwire Cable (Mini-USB connector) for Garmin Nuvi

Garmin Nuvi Hardwire Cable for Garmin Nuvi
  • This unique hardwire power cable allows you to hardwire your Nuvi GPS receivers
  • Input range: 12 - 24V
  • Output range: 5V at 1A
  • Cable Length: 6 feet
  • Red wire is for positive

I installed this unit inside the headlight housing of my Yamaha V Star 950. After carefully studying the motorcycle wiring diagram, I learned there is a pre-wired connector for an optional light bar accessory. Since I wasn't using the accessory light circuit I determined it to the perfect location to tap into the motorcycle's electrical system. And the light circuit has power only when the engine is running so tapping in there will prevent the GPS from drawing power from the motorcycle battery when not in use.

There was just enough room inside my headlight housing to insert the 12V power transformer with the USB connector threaded out the back of the headlight housing. Next I plugged the USB connector into my GPS device mounted on the handlebar and cranked the engine. Viola!

I have no clue what would cause some GPS devices to switch into data mode. But my Nuvi 255 correctly switches from battery to direct current mode when the engine is running and switches back to battery power when the motorcycle engine is turned off.

Buy Garmin Nuvi Hardwire Cable (Mini-USB connector) for Garmin Nuvi Now

Used this to power my Garmin Nuvi 760 & 765. Anyone with decent techincal skills will be able to intall this perfect. Connect the red wire to 12v switched power. And Black wire to ground. Make certain 12v source is switched power to prevent a battery draw. Which will kill the battery if the Nuvi is attached while the car is parked.

I ran the wire to the glove box to keep the garmin chagred and ready to go when i need to use it.

My GPS intermittently switched from charge to battery mode in use on the motorcycle--in other words, the power supply was intermittent. Then after proper installation and very little riding for three months it DIED. Checked the mini-USB connector: the metal shell was not connected to ground and two of the connector pins were shorted together. Also discovered the power cable is not shielded and has very light-gauge wires in it compared with the wiring out of the cigarette lighter charger that Garmin supplies. Cannot recommend this unit. Buy something better. Installation on a motorcycle ain't so easy. You don't want to have to do it twice.

UPDATE: Disassembled the Garmin cigarette lighter power supply, put it in a plastic box and wired it into the motorcycle. Now have steady power.

Want Garmin Nuvi Hardwire Cable (Mini-USB connector) for Garmin Nuvi Discount?

I have had this installed for about 6 weeks. It worked fine initially.

The installation had two issues that several others complained about. The thickness of the power and ground wires made it almost impossible to wire it into my 96 Accord using splices. The size of the box made it difficult to zip tie it to prevent it rattling or moving around.

3 days ago, my Nuvi 1350 started going into data mode before rebooting into map mode. This behavior was followed random reboots while on the road.

If you are going to purchase this item, make sure it is easy to access when it fails.

Bought this last winter and just got around to installing it. I was leery after reading the reviews, so I opened it up. One small phillips screw and the case pops open.

Inside I found a small circuit board, inexpensively made with through-hole components. I could see several capacitors and inductors that looked vulnerable to vibration. So I warmed up my hot-melt glue gun and potted all the components on the circuit board into place. Took about 5 minutes including re-assembly. Epoxy would have worked as well.

Installed it on my 74 Suzuki GT550 and so far, it works like a charm. Wouldn't fit inside the headlight shell but I was able to tuck it in behind the headlight bucket mounting ears and secure it using a couple of wire ties.

I found a plastic cap to protect the USB connector from the elements, and I strap the connector to the Nuvi mount when not in use.

Time and miles will tell how it holds up. The bike is an old two-stroke, without the benefit of modern suspension, so vibration will be a factor.

Moroso 74050 Battery Relocation KitCan't believe there are no reviews for this product. It's great for trunk mounted battery installs. If you're purchasing this product, you are probably mechanically inclined so the poor, vague directions that are included can just be tossed in the trash. Well worth the money.

Keyless Entry Remote Fob Clicker for 2001 Ford Taurus With Do-It-Yourself Programming

Keyless Entry Remote Fob Clicker for 2001 Ford Taurus With Do-It-Yourself ProgrammingThe description says that programming instructions would be included. They were not. The piece of paper that came with the remote said that instructions could be found at the website (). The website is a disaster and the instructions are nowhere to be found. If you click "Resources" it has notes to or from the web designer left on the page that say:

1. Programming Instructions This is not a primary category to focus on, correct? You want users to buy the product and get the instructions as a value-add, correct? If our understanding of this is on track, then leave this out of the main navigation. Maybe you could add this to the resources section.

I called the number given at the website and got an answering service that then directed me to voice mail. I guess I have to use instructions found online and hope that they work. There are various conflicting procedures to choose from. As of now, I don't even know if this thing will work.

UPDATE: It worked. I used these instructions:

Bring all remotes into the car with you. You will be programming all remotes with a new code. With the doors locked and seatbelt fastened, turn the ignition from OFF to ON (when dash lights come on) 4 times within 6 seconds. Turn the ignition OFF. The system will chime to confirm programming mode. Within 20 seconds, press any button on first keyless remote. The system will chime once to confirm programming. Within 20 seconds, press any button on second keyless remote. System will chime once to confirm programming. Turn ignition to RUN or wait at least 10 seconds to exit programming mode.

I picked this up for my 2001 Taurus and it worked great. Programming it yourself is super easy and it worked like a charm.

I bought a 2001 Ford Focus ZTS last week and it only came with 1 key and no remote. Since then I have had another key made, but I decided I wanted a remote first. Most places were charging around $50 for a remote, so I decided to check amazon out.

I got this remote for $20 shipped, the seller got it to me in 4 days. This remote can not get better. I took it out of the package and went out to my car, I turned to car from OFF to RUN 4 times in under 6 seconds and then when I turned it to OFF, the car beeped. At this point you press any button on the remote and the car will beep again. Then you turn it to RUN again and then shut it off, the remote is now programmed.

It took me a max of 30 seconds to program the remote, and it works great. It locks, unlocks, pops the trunk, and sets off the alarm. What more can you ask for?

Great A+++ product, would buy another one if I needed to.
