ACDelco ATX14AHBS (14AH-BS) Maintenance Free Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) Powersport Battery

ACDelco ATX14AHBS Maintenance Free Absorbed Glass Mat Powersport BatteryThe battery comes empty, with the acid in a separate six-compartment bottle. Pouring the acid in is fairly easy, but takes some time and you have to be able to read the instructions so it's not completely idiot-proof. So far it's been running very well.

The terminals on this battery also feel very high quality. They have holes in the top and the front so you can attach your leads on either side.

The permanently sealed (after installation) AGM battery type is nice. This ACDelco replaced a budget BikeMaster Battery BTX14AH-BS BTX14AH-BS BIKEMSTR BATTERY that I had over-discharged.

When I bought it, the ACDelco cost about a third less deal than the Yuasa YUAM62H4A YTX14AH-BS Battery, another high quality alternative.

It was the wrong battery for my application, despite extensive use of cross-over charts and look up tables. I don't know how much of that is my fault or ACDelco.

Battery Tender 021-1164 10W Solar Charger

Battery Tender 021-1164 10W Solar ChargerThe Battery Tender 10W solar panel worked well for 7 months. Now the control unit has apparently failed and the charging LED only flickers occasionally. I was propping the panel against the inside of the windshield of my parked car where it could receive direct sunlight in the afternoon, but even when the sunlight was indirect, the LED charging indicator on the Battery Tender would glow as soon as the sun was fully up in the morning. The car in question doesn't get driven enough to keep its battery from running down, and the solar panel was doing an excellent job of maintaining the battery. I had purchased an adapter cable that plugged into the car's cigarette lighter socket so it wasn't too inconvenient to set up and remove the panel. [Battery Tender Deltran Cigarette Lighter Adapter 081-0069-5]

Previously, I needed to use a battery charger every couple of weeks and now, unfortunately, that chore has returned.

the "charger" works great to maintain a charged battery for exteded periods of non use but did not work to charge a low battery.

Buy Battery Tender 021-1164 10W Solar Charger Now

I purchased this Solar Battery Charger to maintain the battery in my vehicle while it is not in use for extended periods of time. Nearly all cars have alarm systems and other devices which draw power from the battery on a continuous basis. This current drain can reduce the battery voltage enough to cause Sulfides to form on the plates of the battery. When this happens, the battery is doomed to an early death. The solar charger generates just enough power to counteract the small current drains, and prevent the battery voltage from dropping. I had it connected to a vehicle which was taken out of service for several months. When I switched on the ignition and hit the starter, it was just as strong as if I had used the car yesterday. I'd call that a darn good product! I also shopped around and purchased the power plug (cigarette lighter) adapter, to further simplify connecting the solar charger to my car.

Keyless Remote 5B Key Pad Rubber For Buick LaCrosse Chevrolet Malibu Pontiac G6

Keyless Remote 5B Key Pad Rubber For Buick LaCrosse Chevrolet Malibu Pontiac G6fob quit working and dreaded the thought of the cost of new unit and programming,came across this item and saved a bundle only took 5 min. to replace

No issues with this rubber keypad replacement. Seems like an exact match for the OE part. However I'm still having problems with these GM remotes not working consistently. Cold solder joints on the battery clip were removed and repaired, but that didn't solve the issue, so I replaced the rubber pad with this one. Seemed to work for a few weeks. Now it requires a few slaps to function. In summary, this part is great, but it may not solve all problems with this remote. Good luck!

I ordered this to replace the pad in the remote I currently have. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't work, I have to open it up to get it to work again.

If your car remote stopped working, try replacing the rubber keypad first, before going out and buying a whole new remote. I went to several places who all said I need a new remote, which was not the case. I took it upon myself to try replacing the keypad and it worked. So I hope this helps lesson learned explore all options before spending more money than you have too...

Schumacher IP-1875C Instant Power with Air Compressor

Schumacher IP-1875C Instant Power with Air CompressorI had this jumper battery for a few months and I didn't use it until now that my friend's Saturn Vue V6 engine was not starting. I connected the clamps to his battery and the car started immediately. The battery status on this unit has 3 lights (red-yellow-green) and is very useful to know when to recharge it. It was on yellow status but it still could start several cars with ease. The air compressor and the flash light on the unit are also very useful. A very handy equipment for the price (when I bought it, it was $80)

I would recommend it.

This combination air compressor/12vdc battery back-up has been in my possession for about one month and has not only successfully pumped up two half-flat auto tires, but seems to have accepted a fairly deep charge via a 120vac extension cord after each use. (I haven't tried recharging the internal battery from an auto battery yet.) Since this doesn't represent a very long-term or comprehensive review, I can only add that the air compressor seems robust if slow; a 10psi increase in tire pressure requiring about 2 minutes. The indicator lights, utility light, and psi guage all seem well-made, and the latter shows the actual pressure while operating, unlike cheaper gauges that only stabilize after shutting off the compressor. My only other concern/comment is that the battery cable clamps are always exposed, one on each side of the unit, and it would be possible to complete the circuit inadvertently if the unit fell into a puddle or was stored haphazardly around wire, since the cable/battery disconnect switch doesn't seem to work and the cables are, therefore, always "live". I'm not sure if this is a serious health hazard, but it certainly increases the chance for a destructive short-circuit and I'd recommend checking the function of your disconnect switch before leaving the unit exposed around children.

Buy Schumacher IP-1875C Instant Power with Air Compressor Now

I spent a long time researching battery chargers,especially because I was planning to give as a gift. I chose this charger/air compressor/power source because it has some very important features. First, it has a VERY IMPORTANT SAFETY feature which most of the other chargers/starters didn't seem to have: IT HAS A DIAL WHICH ENABLES YOU TO TURN THE UNIT OFF. This is really important when you're attaching the cables! If your charger/starter is live during that stage and the cables accidentally touch each other or something else that causes a spark,your car battery could blow up! I don't know why that's not a required safety feature on all starters/chargers. It also has an alarm, in case you hook the cables up improperly. Second, when you plug the unit into your wall outlet to charge it, IT WON'T OVERCHARGE. That's another feature that's not very common. You will need an extension cord, though. It doesn't come with one...most of them don't anymore. I think they should. The air compressor is a nice feature; you can use it to keep your tires properly filled or in case of an emergency, obviously. I found it to be a little heavy,but it's actually one of the lighter ones (especially if you want an air compressor). The recipient didn't have a problem with the weight. Personally, I wish they would make all of them much lighter and with the features I listed above. It also has a light, the charge indicator and off dial work. It was charged ( a couple of weeks ago) and it's still charged. Everything seems to be working, it arrived in perfect condition. The recipient hasn't needed to jump start a car, YET. If there are any problems with it, I'll re-post immediately. I just couldn't wait to review it, because I wanted people to know about all of the great features and the perfect condition it was in upon arrival. I think it was money well spent and I would definitely recommend it. I hope this review helps anybody who's not sure about what features they might want in a car charger/starter.

I choose the Schumacher compressor package for it's price and features. I've been really surprised how much I have used it. It so handy that it allows me to better keep up with the tire pressure on my cars and I have used the jump start feature to get my neighbors car going and a car that was on a bridge where we couldn't turn around to use regular jumper cables. The compressor is a bit slow but it doesn't give up, even on SUV tires. One thing to note, the on board pressure gauge is not accurate at all (almost gave 4 stars for that but it has been to handy not to give it 5 stars).

Want Schumacher IP-1875C Instant Power with Air Compressor Discount?

Very reliable and convenient charger. We kept this baby in the back of our SUV for months. About a month ago, we finally had a reason to put it to good use when the truck battery went dead. The unit was all set and fully charged when we first took it out of the box and was still fully charged when we needed it. We hooked the cables up to the battery, went to start up the truck and it instantly started up. We have also used the air compressor for our tires many times and it works well. It takes about 2-3 minutes to pump a tire up from 24-36psi. Not too bad for a compact charger. Very happy with this purchase.

BatteryMINDer Onboard Battery Charger/Maintainer - 12 Volt, Model# 12151

BatteryMINDer Onboard Battery Charger/Maintainer - 12 Volt, Model# 12151I own a new Schumacher SC-10030A, and use it regularly as needed you can even find my review of it here at Amazon, and I think highly of the unit. I also use a solar Sunforce 52013 1.8-Watt Solar Battery Maintainer I have also reviewed here at Amazon. Each of these has their place and specific uses, but the BatteryMinder 1.5A OnBoard model is designed to meet my needs for a different set of circumstances.

I could have just as easily purchased a BatteryMinder 1.3A unit the one sold here has many good reviews reporting it as a great product. One of the things no one mentions, though, is that BatteryMinder holds the patent on the manner in which their units desulfate batteries and theirs desulfate continuously, using varying frequencies, where much of their competition only desulfates intermittently according to built-in profiles and not without heating the battery while doing so.

I have a number of vehicles that often sit for long periods some outside, and some stored inside. Yes, the small Sunforce solar panels work great but only on vehicles sitting in sunlight, and they don't desulfate they only help to maintain a well charged battery. The Schumacher also works great but I can't leave it outside or exposed to any elements. Nor is it truly practical to leave the Schumacher hooked up for a week or more. The Schumacher also desulfates, but only intermittently, and only when it senses the need at the beginning of a charge cycle and it doesn't always sense the need for a desulfation cycle. That sensing need isn't unique to the Shumacher and is the drawback of every unit on the market using this particular "sensing" technology.

As I use AGM and standard and sealed lead acid batteries, I need systems that work with both battery types. All three of the units I have meet that qualification and also perform fine with even more battery types.

I made this BatteryMinder 1.5A model purchase as I also have several heavily sulfated lead acid batteries, not in vehicles, that I would like to recover if possible and I do know they are still recoverable to some level of recharge. It's true the BatteryMinder 1.3A comes with several connection options the 1.5A model doesn't come with but neither is the 1.3A model sealed like the 1.5A model, which does have .2A more power output. However, I mostly don't like the 1.3A model as it has to plug directly into a wall outlet and isn't sealed. That means those cables on it won't reach far enough to connect different vehicles without moving them around or inside out of the weather. Using the 1.5A model, I have only to run a 50-100' shop utility cord out and to set the 1.5A model where I need it or hang it where needed, rain or shine, and I can easily seal the utility cord to it with electrical tape when and if needed. Humidity is never going to affect it. If I decide to, I can also permanently mount the 1.5A model under the hood of a vehicle with its included bracket and using a shop extension cord to charge/desulfate whenever.

My continuation of this review below this paragraph will be of the performance in desulfation of batteries. I have no doubt this 12151 can charge and maintain a charge on a good battery, but I will also watch that over several weeks time. I have one AGM battery that still isn't back to 100% charged, although the Schumacher did recover it from a 50% state of condition to 85% I want to see if the BatteryMinder 1.5A unit will raise that charge percentage using its patented continuous high frequency desulfating charging technology over other technology. (chuckle) Short of seeing what this pricey little solid-state "connect-and-forget" technology can do with WWII submarine batteries, my testing of the BatteryMinder 1.5A model should still be rather conclusive in automotive applications.

Battery subject 1: automotive Delco, 4 year old, 6 yr. 78 month, sealed lead-acid, 600 CCA.

This battery had been sitting idle and discharged for months, and was showing only 10 volts on a digital meter. I used my Schumacher charger to bring it back up to a solid 12.5 volts as noted after resting it for 24 hours. I again reconnected the Schumacher and left it running for three days, but a resulting 75% recovered state was as far as the Shumacher would recover this battery read using the Schumacher "check" feature after disconnecting the Schumacher and allowing the surface charge to dissipate. Note: charging with the Schumacher also heated the battery, so I also had to let it cool as the surface charge dissipated before testing could be accurate.

I then connected the BatteryMinder 1.5A 12151 and checked the progress over two days. With the 12151 connected, I saw voltages varying from 13.61 volts at the start to 14.01 volts after 15 minutes, and down to 13.96 volts after 30 minutes. I also noted the amps were varying in the 1.23A range at the start and later in the 1.10A range.

The battery remained cool to touch this time using the low amperage of the 12151, but the BatteryMinder 12151 was just slightly warm throughout the two days of charging, and silent and the unit's LED remained solid green without going into the "flashing" mode denoting maintain/desulfate mode. I then disconnected the battery from the BatteryMinder and allowed the battery to stand and dissipate the surface charge. When I next checked the battery, it was then showing 12.65 volts on my digital meter, and returning to 12.65 volts after a light load a solid improvement of .15 volts that indicated the battery state was now at 90% recovered (again using the percent "check" feature on my Shumacher SC010030A). That's right, the BatteryMinder 12151 took this 600CCA battery from 75% capacity to 90% in only two days. So, the BatteryMinder unit's frequency modulation definitely does work. I'll be letting the 12151 continue its "magic" to see if it recovers this Delco to 100%, but I could easily just start reliably using this battery now. I just prefer to see it back at 100% if possible

... and it is possible... I charged the battery two more days with the BatteryMinder 12151 and the battery was holding 12.75 volts after allowing the surface charge to dissipate over 12 hours. This formerly "dead" battery is now perfect for service again, and an additional three more days saw this battery only improve to 12.76 volts again, after the battery had been off the charger for 12 hours. Maybe another month on the 12151 might show more improvement on this battery, but I'm satisfied. Recovering this battery saved me $100 for a new one.

Next: the recovery performance on a 7 year old Odyssey PC1200MJT (550 CCA top post metal jacket) that was only recovered a true 85% using the Schumacher.

The Schumacher charger finally did recover this AGM battery to a stable 12.65 volts after several discharge and recharge cycles using the AGM and 2 Amp charge settings (partially discharging it several times while using an aftermarket 1300 watt stereo system in a 1985 Trans Am). That recovery in itself is remarkable for a seven year old battery, but this battery was never used to start the vehicle it was previously in (a 1979 Berlinetta Camaro) more than once or twice per year it just sat idle the rest of the time. The 12151 pulled this battery up to a solid 12.70 volts after only replacing the Schumacher charger with the BatteryMinder charger for a day. In several more days, I'll see what voltage this battery is holding at "rest" again (after the surface charge has had time to dissipate).

My Odyssey owner's manual states this battery, at 100% charged, will show 12.84 volts at rest when it has reached its 100% charge capacity. According to the Odyssey chart, after weeks of being connected to the BatteryMinder 12151, the seven year old Odyssey PC1200MJT only recovered to just over 90%. That's still not bad as the design life of this 7-year old battery is only 8-12 years with good care, and just over 90% is a much better state of charge and recovery than any other charger gave it.

The four year old sealed Delco well, it recovered to a full 100% after more time connected to BatteryMinder 12151 and I put it back into my 2007 Silverado. I'm counting my blessings now and have also put the Odyssey into full time service in my customized 1985 Trans Am with its 620 watt RMS stereo system, and high compression 406 smallblock. I feel my experience using the BatteryMinder is one that made it well worth purchasing it. I plan to buy more BatterMinders, and have mounted this one in my Trans Am with the Odyssey battery.

Update 7/11/11:

I've now bought another 12151 for my Silverado and not only another 12151, but a 12248 BatteryMinder for the vehicles stored in my garage behind my home. The 12248 can charge/maintain up to six different batteries at the same time. Once I saw the performance improvement over a few days, after putting that Delco back into the Silverado, I knew how well this unit helped the Silverado charging system by charging the Delco battery to 100% capacity. My Silverado alternator now takes only a few minutes to build the Delco back after starting the engine and then it rests and cools off with a lower voltage output. It had never done this even when the truck was brand new or even with the other new standard lead acid battery I had been using while the factory Delco was removed. Charging a battery to 100% capacity really does takes a load off the alternator and was something I wasn't expecting but could easily see at my Silverado dash voltage gauge. I should have remembered this from my active racing days, but that has been a number of decades back now. From now on, I'll be bringing even my brand new batteries to a 100% charge with a BatteryMINDer before I start using them and will desulfate them at least once a month from now on. BatteryMINDer has made me a true believer in their "desulfation" product.

Update: 7/24/11

After installing the 12151 permanently to my Trans Am with its Odyssey PC1200 MJT battery, and keeping the power cord connected while not driving the car, it has now built this seven year old battery back to its full 100% capacity. Seeing the full 12.84 volts stated in my Odyssey manual, after a 24 hour "rest" (disconnected from the power cord), was a fantastic and unexpected sight. BatteryMINDer simply has a great product here and I now have an over $200 battery back to like new electrical condition. The BatteryMINDer 12151 has to be one of the best automotive purchases I've made in a long time.

Update: 8/25/11

Now that my BatteryMINDer 12151's have both of the batteries (I watched build back here on my first 12151) back to an optimal state, I've noticed the 12151's output amps are only above 1 amp until the units begin flashing shortly after I've connected their power cords. After the "flashing mode begins now, the amps quickly fall to almost nothing due to the improved condition of my batteries. It also doesn't take as long for these units to go into the "flashing" mode, as it did when I first installed the 12151's.

Update: 10/23/11

I checked the old Odyssey battery installed in my Pontiac Trans Am today, and found the 12151 holding steady at 13.54 volts on the well charged Odyssey battery while in the BatteryMINDer "maintain/desulfate" mode noted by the flashing green LED. This is within the 13.5-13.8 voltage range called for in the Odyssey battery warranty for maintenance (trickle) charging.

I have had a Battery MINDer on my Harley for nearly 20 years. These are great little devices and well worth the price. They don't just keep the battery charged, but they condition it by sending little pulses of electricity though the battery so that crystals cannot build up on the plates. By keeping the plates free of crystals the battery can receive a full charge and work at its peak.

A Battery MINDER will extend the life of the battery, practically indefinitely. My last standard acid-filled battery lasted 12 years using a Battery MINDer, and it only finally had to be replaced because I forgot to check the fluid and let it evaporate. Then I switched to an AGM battery and got this newer Battery MINDer to use with that, putting my old one on my truck, which I only drive sporadically.

The Battery MINDer comes with cable adapters that stay permanently connected to the terminals on the battery. All you have to do when the vehicle is not in use, is connect the adapters to the Battery MINDer, which stays connected to AC, using very little electricity. The BM comes with connecting adapters to attach to the terminal adapters. It also comes with alligator clamps for charging or conditioning a battery that does not have adapters attached.

Note that the BM is a trickle charger and is meant to maintain a battery, not to charge a completely dead o depleted battery. For example, if you buy a new battery that needs initial charging, use a standard charger to charge it, then connect it to the BM to condition it and keep it charged. A battery can be low and attached to the BM, but if it is dead or has very little charge, it won't register on the BM.

By the same token if you would like to revive an old battery that won't hold a charge due to sulfation of the plates, first charge it with a standard charger, then connect it to the Battery MINDer. It can take up to a week or longer to re-condition such a battery. You might also have to start the sulfation process manually in this situation, so read the directions.

The Battery MINDer will undoubtedly earn every penny of its cost back, and more. Before I got one I was going through a battery a year on my Harley, and the same for my truck, which I rarely used. Now I don't even go through a battery a decade! It is one of the best things I've ever purchased.

I liked the reviews on this charger, especially about desulfating. I plan to disconnect the batteries (I have two.)on my travel trailer and treat them to a charge and desulfating every month or so when I'm not using the trailer. I have new batteries now so no hurry.

I'm trying to recover the 6 year old batteries I had on the trailer as we speak. Not going well. Judging from the other reviews they may be beyond recovery. I measured about 50 percent capacity when I started and after about a week and a half, I've gained about 10 percent. There has been an increase in capacity and as far as I'm concerned, that shows the charger/desulfater is doing it's job.

I really like the idea that this charger is waterproof. It rains on the Oregon Coast. LOL

I recently purchased the BatteryMINDer and I am delighted how well that it works. It is simple to install the charger leads off the battery and very easy to plug and unplug the BatteryMINDer from the car. I have a 2011 Ford Fiesta that is not used on a regular basis. It commonly sits in the garage all week and only sees the road on the weekend. In the past, the Fiesta always had a dead battery come Friday. The BatteryMINDer has completely solved that. Even after leaving the car in the garage for a month while we were on vacation, the BatteryMINDer kept the car battery fully charged and when we got back, the car started like a champ. Great product, very fair price, and I highly recommended it based on my excellent experience.

Everything in the pouch is better than I anticipated. Having gone to the Apple store a few times looking for accessories I was skeptical that this many items could actually work for the price I paid. Even if it turns out that only the silicon cases and the flip cover case are the parts I use, it is totally worth what I paid for it. Silicon cases at the Apple store run about $25 and here I have 2 that seem to be decent quality and are in normal colors (black and whitish). I'm most thrilled with the flip top case because I did not originally think that type of case would work for me. Now that I'm carrying the iPod touch in my purse, it is nice to have a protection for the screen in addition to the anti-glare screen protector I bought at the Apple store. If I was not so thrilled with the cases and only had the data cable I might have given this only 3 stars. I am worried that the electrical components won't be good enough b/c they are not apple products and apple may actually have filters on what they sell. I decided to try the wall charger and USB cable anyway and it seemed to charge just fine. The only trouble is the hook on the right side of the part that slides into the iPod touch. Whereas Apple's data cable has a bump, this piece has a hook. The hook gets caught and I'm afraid it may damage that port. Yes there are buttons on the sides to retract the hooks, but the button on the right side does not work. So I may have to find a file and file down the hook if I plan to use the data cable again. At least all of the items in this package are for the iPod touch unlike the other bundle that I bought. I also bought a different bundle and it had regular iPod accessories and iPod touch accessoriesthe regular iPod accessories will be useless for me at the moment. This purchase was worth every pennyeven the shipping. Usually I only buy Prime stuff, but made an exception b/c the price + shipping seemed very reasonable.

Pioneer DEH-P3000IB In-Dash CD/Mp3/Wma/iTunes AAC/Wav Receiver

Pioneer DEH-P3000IB In-Dash CD/Mp3/Wma/iTunes AAC/Wav ReceiverPioneer always has really great, high-end products. I was only slightly disappointed with this one. Whoever they have in their usability/user interface department, they need to fire them. The controls on this deck are absolutely counter-intuitive. I consider myself pretty much a gadget geek and computer nerd, so I'm usually able to figure out how to use things without reading the manual. However, I had to read the manual to figure out how to use it, which generally means it hasn't been designed very well. It's very difficult to navigate through the menus of the deck.

I would say whoever wrote their user manual should also be fired, since it's extremely confusing and hard to read. I still don't know how to change the clock on it.

Overall, it's a great upgrade. I miss my stock Honda one, but some of the buttons didn't work. Once you get the Pioneer deck installed, I suggest just using the included remote, as it's much easier.

Totally awesome head unit. It is iPod compatible and I can control the iPod from the head unit controls and it charges the battery on the iPod too. Also displays the name of the songs on the head unit display........

I got this to replace a Sony that went bad about two days after the one-year warranty expired. So with this, I purchased (at Circuit City) the extended 4-year warranty for $30 for peace of mind. So of course, my opinion of this could change drastically if it goes bad, but Pioneer is a well respected brand so fingers crossed that won't happen.

I noticed some of the other reviewers complain about the user interface. Are they using the same stereo that I am?? I think the joystick is a great idea, the menus are all easy to work through, stations are easy to flip through. I love it. By the way, I always play MP3-CD's. It also has a connection to plug an mp3 player but I have not tried that feature.

The biggest problem I have with this thing is I can't see the display. My car has a sunroof and the glare is too much. I'm really not thrilled with not having the presets in the face either. but it sounds good enough for the money. What's the purpose of having the 1 button do most of the features is also a pain especially when you CAN'T SEE THE DAMNED DISPLAY!!!! I think a lot of times these companies just have to add more options to display them in their advertizing. How about a dial you can seein any light, a volume, and three tone controls. These preset tone controls are crap. to many variables with the speakers and the vehicle sound for them not to sound different in every car,

It does what indicated, but ...

1. there isn't separate channel equalization, that by 2008 should be mandatory. So I still have the same EQ on the rear speaker and on the front ones. Really bad.

2. the USB is available only if you buy a $100 kit... too much for USB option.

3. no RDS on radio stations (I had it back in Europe in 1995).

4. The knob/wheel isn't very intuitive and the interface is quite hard to use. The remote instead is quite good.

5. It sounds ok, could be better.

6. It does play CDs with AAC/iTunes well but the navigation isn't too intuitive. Many characters in the song names or artist names aren't available so they get replaced with annoying "?".

Overall, it is cheap but with today technology at that price you can offer USB, rear/fwd separate EQ, RDS and a better interface.

WARN 26502 M8000 8000-lb Winch

WARN 26502 M8000 8000-lb WinchI've been off-roading for more than four decades. Bikes, buggies and now, a 4x4. Never really thought I needed a winch until I got the 4X4, but since my Trooper weighs in at around 4,500 pounds, I knew there was no way I could get out of a "sticky" situation without a winch. I run in sand at Hatteras, hills and woods at Wind Rock and make the occasional trip to CO to explore old mining trails and hunt for ghost towns. And I always travel alone. So, one of my first purchases for the Trooper was an ARB bullbar and a Warn M8000. That was in 2002. Oddly, since then, I haven't had a desperate need for a winch. Oh, there have been numerous times when I have had to clear a large branch or tree from the trail, but I've never been stuck, so I never had a chance to put the M8000 to the test.

Then, this Spring, I had a 70', 18" diameter black pine break in a windstorm and fall into the lake near my boat dock where we live. After failing to get TVA to remove it (it was on their easement), I decided to see if the Trooper, ARB bullbar and Warn winch were up to the task. The tree was in about 3-5 feet of water and would have to be lifted about 8' to get it up into my yard where I could cut it up with a chainsaw. I had no idea what the tree weighed, so to aid in the lifting and increase the pulling power, I strapped a snatch block onto another standing tree as high as I could reach in an attempt to pull the trunk of the tree in the water up onto the embankment. I paid out about half the wire rope (50') to gain a little mechanical advantage. The tree moved freely as I oriented it perpendicular to the shore, but eventually snagged on the rip-rap on the shoreline. Not sure if I would overtax the M8000, I continued the pull, stopping occasionally to allow it to cool.

The winch struggled with the pull, but managed to coax the tree trunk up and onto the embankment. Then, I attached the snatch block to a tree some 60 feet away and positioned the Trooper about another 30' or so from the snatch block at about a 45 degree angle. When I started the pull, the tree moved only a few feet further into my yard before the winch started pulling the Trooper across the grass towards the snatch block. I blocked all four wheels and tried again. No dice. The tree was too heavy (but the winch, although it was clearly struggling, pulled on). Finally, I backed the Trooper up to another tree and wrapped a strap around it and hooked both ends over the tow hook on the back. When I began to pull, there was so much force that I actually was pretty sure something was going to give the winch, the bumper, maybe even the frame of the truck. The winch was clearly maxed out and turned slowly. But the tree moved. I took my time and allowed the winch to cool after about each 1 1/2 2 minute pull. It took maybe 1/2 an hour, but the tree eventually all ended up in the yard where I could saw it up.

The winch never failed (nor did the bull bar or the frame of the Trooper) and it saved me nearly the cost of purchase that day alone. Now, when I'm on the trail, I have full confidence that I can deal with almost any extrication issue that comes along. Well done, Warn!

This is the best basic winch you can get. Don't be fooled into buying any of the cheaper ones. Learn from my mistakes. It does what it says it does. Pulls four tons. Has paid for itself in my case with one emergency use. Had to pull and lift 2.5 tons which it did with ease. I would recommend having a snatch block and either a chain or heavy strap to give more options when needed. It is not always possible to get the truck with the winch in exactly the right spot. The snatch block allows for more choices.

For the price its a great winch, You get the brand name and reliability of a Warn. Looks great and is light enough to not make my front end sag like my old XD 9000I. Highly recommend not going with a cheaper knock-off brand to save a few bucks. If you want something thats going to work when you need it, go warn

Want WARN 26502 M8000 8000-lb Winch Discount?

I'll say it again, M8000 now comes with a mounting bracket so no need to order another unless you want a spare...So far I have only operated it to stretch the line. It seems everyone has one of these. One thing I should have consideredmy driving habits. I know many people submerge their winches without problem and I do my fair share of water crossings.... I'm not saying don't get this if you see any water...it's just something to consider

Great price for one of Warns top selling wincheslifetime warrantyWarns ultimate reliability. I'll update after more use.

Aside from the winch you'll need to invest in a few things. A tree protector strap (not an ordinary tow strap), a snatch block or two (doubles your pulling capacity), shackle or two, heavy duty gloves, and a heavy blanket or jacket. You can buy a kit which includes much of what you need. Warn, ARB, Rugged Ridge and many others have these kits available. Advisable also is a cover to protect your investment from the elements.

Big Crank ETX30L Battery

Big Crank ETX30L BatteryIt's no secret in the HD community hdforums.com etc as to who makes Harley batteries; it's East Penn Manfg.

This is the same battery absent the HD name and logo for $75 dollars less in a grey case. Top of the line

product that I usually get five years service out of hard to beat. As this battery also fits some other

recreational vehicles, it comes with cable side and top mount choices. Harley's use the side mount position

and included spacers make it a perfect fit. One note make it easy on yourself and use a drop of super glue

on the bottom flat edge of the spacer before to hold it in place before installing the battery. Prompt delivery

of a fresh battery that hasn't sat on a shelf for a year is a bonus too.

I have a modified 2001 Mustang Cobra ( not supercharged ) and I originally had a "Braille 15" light weight performance battery which cost $160 and lasted about about 1 year. When it was time to replace that battery I figured I would try something a bit bigger to get more cranking amps and also a bit longer life. The next size up for the Braille batteries is the "17" and then the "21". I decided to go w/ the 21 and that would have cost approx $188 but after doing a bit of research I figured out that the Braille batteries are essentially repackaged East Penn / Dekka batteries.

The "Braille 21" is the same as the East Penn / Dekka EXT30L, same size, casing and most importantly same cranking amps @ 400A. The most obvious difference is the price as the East Penn battery is essentially half what the Braille battery costs at just $99 plus free shipping from Battery Mart via Fed Ex ground which in my case took about a week shipping to Houston, TX from Rockville, Maryland apparently.

I've been using this battery for a week and it's started my 10.5 compression v8 Mustang like a champ. My car is also running on E85 so it's has to crank a bit longer when the temp gets bellow 60* but this has not been a problem at all. Not sure how it would work on super high compression or high boost supercharged engine but I would say this battery would do just fine for the majority of performance minded folks looking to shave a bit of weight.

Optima Batteries 8016-103 D34M BlueTop Dual Purpose Battery

Optima Batteries 8016-103 D34M BlueTop Dual Purpose BatteryI use Optima Blue Top batteries as a power backup with a pure sinewave inverter/charger. They are powerful and can be mounted at any angle since they are sealed and don't vent gas like a flooded battery. Being sealed, the posts don't corrode like regular batteries and the can be used indoors with care. When under a load they hold at 12 volts for a long time and recharge much faster than most batteries and do not heat up even when charged fast, like 70 amps. Optima could package them a little better for shipping one was cracked at the bottom. A piece of stryofoam in the bottom of the box would have saved it from damage. Amazon did send a replacement. Thanks.

Awesome battery which does not require a whole lot of charging to keep it topped off when setting during the winter months; I have a regular WalMart Deep Cycle battery for starting and it does require alot of changing. Recovery time after a full day of fishing is much less than regular deep cycle batteries. If you are a fisherman and want a battery the will deliver this is it but if you are running one of the larger trolling motors purchase the next step up in this battery. Well worth the money.

Optima Batteries 8016-103 D34M BlueTop Dual Purpose Battery

I read this was the ultimate Optima battery for my RV. I ordered one, but the poor packaging by Amazon resulted in a severly cracked battery, exposing the core, when it was delivered. I have read other customer reviews stating their battery was damaged when delivered. Is not transporting or delivering a cracked battery a bio hazard? Customer Service quickly and cheerfully refunded my money because there were no more in stock. Now that the stock has been replenished the battery costs more and I am not sure if it will not arrive damaged. Amazon should read the reviews and package properly.

Amazon has not corrected the packaging problem with these batteries. The battery arrived in a box with a single layer of bubble wrap over the top of the battery. The top of the battery was cracked and the cells inside were visible. I purchased this battery to replace a blue top optima I have had for 8 years. The best battery I have ever owned! I used it for everything from powering 12volt lights in a cabin, to the only power supply in my rock crawler that has a 8k lb winch, 3k lb winch, off-road driving lights, 6 auxiliary lights, air compressor and 300 watt stereo system. I highly recommend the battery, however...do not buy it from amazon. I did get my money back. At first the rep said they could only refund half. I said that was unacceptable and they agreed to a full refund.

Great battery for what I needed. Fits great in my little john boat and has plenty of power for my trolling motor. It is a little heavier than I had expected but still lighter than most batteries. Also was received very quickly as usual with stuff I have ordered from Amazon. I would recommend this battery to all avid fisherman definitly worth the money!

Wagan 2017 Solar Powered Battery Charger

Wagan 2017 Solar Powered Battery ChargerI use this charger on my 12 year-old VW that has developed a slow drain on the battery. The battery would die if I didn't run the car every day. The charger works, even in the winter in Maine. Some other reviewers damned the device because it didn't work for applications for which is wasn't intended. It's not a whole-house power generator. It's a trickle charger; for that purpose it works beautifully.

Amazon should change the title of this product to a trickle charger. This solar panel will not charge a dead battery, not even close. This product will keep your battery "topped off" if you are going to leave it sitting for a long time.

This product would be good for someone leaving their car at the airport during a long vacation or a spare car that sits outside all day that is driven every once in a while.

Buy Wagan 2017 Solar Powered Battery Charger Now

Was having trouble with my Ford F250 battery being dead after it was left sitting for a couple months. There is some slight computer draw or the like in the system that eventually runs it down. This is just whats needed to keep the battery topped off. The review is simply.... It works or did for a while! Well after a couple months it WASN'T working. Took it apart and found out a soldered wire had come apart. So I resoldered it and wallah it's been working since. So if your stops working take it apart...and see if everything is hooked up before you trash it. If you find nothing to fix ...get out the hammer and beat the crap out of it...!!

A warning to those looking to purchase this. The odds are that simply plugging this into your cigarette lighter WILL NOT WORK. This is not so much a problem with this device, but rather what they do not tell you.

In order for this to work, you need to have a cigarette lighter that is still connected to the battery WHEN THE CAR IS OFF! If you only have a cigarette ligher that works when the car is running or if the key is in the auxiliary position, this device WILL NOT keep your batter maintained unless you leave the ignition in the auxiliary position which also means you are leaving your keys in the car and also potentially leaving on other power consuming components that come on when the ignition is in auxiliary mode. In my case, the dash clock stays on when in aux mode.

There is a solution. You need to bypass the cigarette lighter and go right to the battery. To do this, you can buy one of these: Roadpro 12V Battery Clip-On and Cigarette Lighter Adapter

This may actually be included in the bundled products you see to buy with this solar system. If you want to keep the solar panel inside the car, then you will likely need an extension cord to get the cigarette lighter into the cab of your car. Just keep all this in mind. For most folks, just buying the solar charger is NOT going to solve your problem.

Want Wagan 2017 Solar Powered Battery Charger Discount?

Seems well made and does supply some juice. Very little. A tiny trickle to keep a decent battery in a parked car from dying. Make sure it's pointed as directly at the sun at midday as possible.

It is in two parts, the panel and a voltage regulator. You could hook the panel directly to your battery and get a little more juice out of it since the regulator wastes some. But warning, a direct link might let it act as a drain at night, haven't tested it.

HQRP 30W Flexible Solar Panel Power 30 Watt 12V Mono-crystalline PV Module w/ 4 Stainless Grommets

HQRP 30W Flexible Solar Panel Power 30 Watt 12V Mono-crystalline PV Module w/ 4 Stainless Grommets for RV Boat Yacht plus HQRP UV Chain / UV Radiation Health TesterHave had this flexible solar panel for just a few days so far. This panel has grommets along the edges for easy mounting, I used rubber tarp straps to mount this to a 100 gallon cylindrical fuel tank. It charges the deep cycle battery that runs the pump that was already in place. I used to put the battery on a charger every night the pump was used, with the solar charge is not necessary, is virtually maintenance free now. I bought a square framed panel first, did not take long to figure out this was going to be a nightmare getting a square panel mounted to a round tank. With this flex style do not have to worry about rocks and gravel kicking up on the panel either. This is a perfect solution, looks to be well made, hopefully I will get many years of use out of it too.

Here is my blog about the project.

I got a HQRP 30W Flexible Solar Panel Power 30 Watt 12V Mono-crystalline PV Module for my boat to replace an ancient 11 watt Flx-11 solar panel that is no longer made. The HQRP 30 Watt panel is roughly 16 X 34 inches. The old 11 watt panel was 30 inches by 16 inches. 19 more watts, in 4 inches more length, shows a LOT more watt density than in Ye Olden Dayes! It sits on a Bimini Top on my sailboat, so I had to round off the sharp corners on the aluminum sheet substrate with some tin-snips. It's been installed for three weeks now and even with all the rain plaguing the Southeastern U.S. lately, STILL keeps my Group 29 battery fully float-charged into a solar array charger. The grommets were useful for tying to my Bimini Top frame.

A good buy, with good performance; what more could you ask?

Why not that (coveted) 5th star?

The web-site picture that shows the panel semi-folded is roughly 1 or 2 degrees from the point where you start damaging the printed-on crystalline structure. You are NOT going to roll that thing up to store it, but so far, that has not been an issue on my boat.

Special Kudos to Amazon:

When UPS decided NOT to deliver my package because they thought I had moved (33 years in same location, yeah, right) Amazon not only took back the returned panel, and did NOT charge me any re-stocking fees, they sent me ANOTHER panel with NO shipping charges.

Any company can take care of a customer when things are going well; the mark of a GREAT company is how well they take care of you when things are going very badly.

Thanks, Amazon!

I have only had this one for about a month, and it works well to keep the battery on my boat charged. It is lighter and thinner than the others I have bought at the same power level.

While it is flexible, it is not as flexible as the Amazon write up makes it look. Not a big problem, but it affects how you can mount it.

Good value for money.

Read Best Reviews of HQRP 30W Flexible Solar Panel Power 30 Watt 12V Mono-crystalline PV Module w/ 4 Stainless Grommets Here

This panel is not capable of producing more than about 15 W under bright sunlight. This is confirmed by the data on the label on the back of the panel, where the short-circuit current is rated at a little over 1 ampere. The panel is also misdescribed in that there are six grommets, not four. If the product specifications were given, I would've bought something else. This is a general problem with product descriptions on Amazon. In most cases over the last few years, the Amazon listings have been very incomplete. I find out more, but not enough, from the customer reviews.

Want HQRP 30W Flexible Solar Panel Power 30 Watt 12V Mono-crystalline PV Module w/ 4 Stainless Grommets Discount?

I installed two of them (parallel) a year ago on my 36' sailboat on deck right under the boom, so I step on them quite often. It's more than enough for GPS, windex and echolot under rain. The best what I measured from both 3A in sunny day (sun angle was maybe 70 degree) worst just after sunset 0.5 A. Obviously you cannot expect one panel would give you 30W in real life (maybe in the cosmos).

I give 5 stars, but it is not clear 5. Panels are flexible so could be placed on a curved surface, like a deck, but the huge mounting wholes gave me hard time to mount panels nicely.

I payed $140 for each a year ago

LuguLake 12000 mAh Multi-function 12V 400Amp Portable Jump Starter with LED Flashlight, Power Bank

LuguLake 12000 mAh Multi-function 12V 400Amp Portable Jump Starter with LED Flashlight, Power Bank / Pack exteral power Battery, 12V Car Battery Charger, Output 5V/12V/19V, WhiteI was provided this power bank for review with the understanding that I will not be reviewing the jump start feature. Taking the battery out of my car or waiting for it to die was impractical, but there were so many other features to test.

I have never owned a power bank with so many functions. It's a power bank for laptops and small devices, a jump starter, and a flashlight all stored neatly in a lovely zippered case with a hand strap. I was impressed with the presentation.

JUMP STARTER

The power bank comes with two jumper cables. The wires are small in diameter compared to any jumper cables I've ever owned, but I'll keep this in my car in case I ever need it.

FLASHLIGHT

Other power banks have one little LED bulb they call a flashlight. This power bank has a real flashlight. It's bright, with multiple modes: always on, strobe, or flashing. Pay attention to the flashing. It doesn't just flash, it flashes SOS.

CHARGING A LAPTOP

This is the only power bank of 12000 mAh or smaller I've ever owned that not only charges small devices like cell phones and tablets, but also laptops.

It comes with eight laptop connectors. We have to just test them out to see which ones fit. I asked for a list from the manufacturer for the compatibilities and was given the following:

1) 4.8*1.7mm Asus/HP/NEC/Delta/Compaq

2) 5.0*3.0mm (with 1.0mm pin) Samsung

3) 5.5*1.7mm Asus

4) 5.5*2.1mm IBM/HP/NEC/Toshiba

5) 5.5*2.5mm Asus/HP/NEC/Delta/Compaq/IBM/Dell/Toshiba

6) 6.0*4.4*1.4mm Fujitsu/Sony/Samsung

7) 7.4*5.0*0.6mm HP/Dell

8) 7.9*5.5*0.9mm IBM/Lenovo

The connectors are labeled with letters in my kit, not numbers. The one labeled "C" fits my husband's Toshiba Satellite. None of them fit my Asus Eee PC.

I was impressed. It charged my husband's power hungry 17 inch laptop from dead to 60%. I didn't expect a full charge from a 12000 mAh power bank. I was happy it could do as much as it did.

CHARGING SMALL DEVICES

The power bank comes with seven connectors for small devices. I was emailed a couple of lists to identify the connectors. Both were different and neither of them appeared to match what I have. Here's the best I could come up with after some internet searching of connector photos and comparison with connectors from my other power banks:

* micro USB

* mini USB

* Nokia DC 2.0

* PSP

* LG

* Sony Ericsson

* Samsung G600

I am very sure of the micro USB and mini USB connectors, but beyond that is just my research and I could be wrong, as I don't own the other devices to test them out on.

I was able to charge my Kindle Fire HD 8.9" tablets from dead to 83%. I'm a little disapointed with that. My other 12000 mAh power bank could give my Fire HD tablet a full charge with juice left over.

Of course, this power bank can also charge my iPhone 4S, though the connector for that is not supplied.

PROS:

+ multi-function: jump starter, power bank, flashlight

+ charges laptops

+ flashlight has multiple modes including SOS

+ comes with a case

+ comes with 8 laptop connectors and 7 small device connectors, neatly organized

CONS:

charges with AC adapter instead of a USB cord

larger than other 12000 mAh power banks

charging cable fits both input and output ports (easy to make an error)

does not fully charge a Kindle Fire HD 8.9" tablet

small diameter for jumper cables

OVERALL IMPRESSION

My very first reaction when I opened the box was wow. This is a very good multi-function device. I've never had a power bank that could do so much. It's good to have in the car or on a camping trip or for emergencies.

If all you need just a power bank for charging cell phones on the go, I would go with something smaller, more portable. For a device that does everything, this is a great choice.

This product was provided for review by LuguLake Direct.

I've been playing with this kit for a while and really like it. The battery pack is a powerful one and at 12000 mAh is one of the best I've used. I tried a quick test on my iPad and it powered up in record time. If it can rapidly juice up a power hog, undoubtedly it will work with all your small devices. There are adapters for almost any kind of device. It doesn't have the 30-pin iPad/-iPhone adapter because you don't need it. You simply take off the plug and hitch your USB cable into the side of this unit.

One of the interesting things we accidentally discovered was a safety feature that would be perfect if you are on the road. You hold down the switch for three seconds to turn on the LED light, which is reasonably bright. If you lightly tap it again, you receive a strobe. Another light tap and you get the standard SOS signal. This was instantly recognized by another family member. If you never have to use this battery pack to jump start a car, it's worth carrying with you just in case of emergency. Everything comes in a nice faux leather case that closes with a dual nylon zipper system.

If you look at the interface you'll see from left to right a 19V 3.5 output port for a laptop, the battery indicator (five blue LED lights), a power switch, a 5V 2A output port for Smartphones, tablets, Kindle Fire, etc. a 12 V 5A output port for batteries, and a 12V 1A input port for self-charging. On the left-hand face there is the bright LED light/emergency signal and the port for the charging cables. The labeling has been silk-screened on and because it's silver, there isn't much contrast. I had to turn it back and forth to be able to read it, otherwise it blends in. My cables had a short in them so I was unable to try them with a car. This would be perfect to keep on hand for small engine batteries and general use. I really like this battery pack, especially because with all the added adapters, it's very useful even if you don't have to charge a car.

By par, this is the biggest battery power pack that I have. It also has the most attachments and accessories being a multi-function charger and car jump starter. It came with a zippered black leatherette case that otganizes everything with straps for each kind of attachments.

It came with 3 LEDs lit (out of 5 for full charge) so I plugged it to the wall with the AC adapter. The AC adapter is multivolt, it works 100V to 240V and 50 Hz to 60Hz, making it compatible with a lot of countries. It can also charge using the included cigarette lighter plug. Besides the 5V, 2Amp USB output that is normally used for tablets and phones, and the jump starter, it also provide a 19V, 3.5Amp output for notebooks and 12V, 2A output for a variety of car accessories.

For smaller charging jobs, it work excellent for my iPads, smartphones and mini speakers. With all the accessories included, what notably missing are the 30-pin Apple connector and the Lightning cable.

To jump start a car battery, it is important to make sure the power pack has enough juice. It should not have less than 3 LEDs in capacity which represents 60% of total full charge. Also you have to disconnect the charger within 30 seconds after starting your car. I have yet to test the full feature of the jump starter though. My battery on the Accord is three years old but not comletely gave up the ghost; so having this in my glove compartment will hopefully prove to be useful in times of emergency.

I have several power packs with LED flashlights, this has the brightest lamp I have seen so far. You turn it on by pressing the power button for two seconds. It will cycle from steady light and two modes of emergency flashing lights fast and slow.

The user manual is short but has done well explaining how to use the charger/jumper. Don't lose it or make a digital copy for future.

I was provided a sample of this product, so I could use it and write my unbiased review.

(#1 REVIEWER)This power pack combines many charging capabilities: mobile devices, laptops, and a car. This unit performed exceptionally well with my mobile devices (details below), jumper cables measured with a volt meter showed 12.24v which is sufficient to start a car, however it did not perform well recharging my laptop as I will detail below.

GENERAL

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This power pack is fairly small in size. The power pack itself is 3"x6"x1". It comes with a 7"x10"x1.5" faux leather case, which holds the unit and various cables and connectors that come in the package.
In addition to charging functions, the power pack has a led light. The light is very powerful and bright. It also has several modes: in addition to the steady light, it has a fast blink, and a slow blink. I plan to keep this charger in the car, and the blinking function could be quite useful in emergency situation.
I am attaching a photo collage that I will be referencing in this review, the photos can be located by following 'customer photos' link under the main photo. Photo #1 is a photo of the leather case with all the items included in this package. The package include 7 connectors for mobile devices, 8 adapters for laptop power port, and also includes a wall outlet adaptor, 12V car charger, and jumper cables with battery clamps.
MOBILE DEVICES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The package contains 7 connectors for mobile devices, including mini USB and USB. The other connectors are not labelled and not explicitly listed in the documentation. I have tested this unit with four of our mobile devices (Nexus 7 Tab, Galaxy Nexus Phone, Galaxy 7.7 Tab, and iPad Mini). Mini USB fit my Nexus devices, but none of the included plugs fit iPad Mini or Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7.

I always use the same test to measure the performance of various power banks so I can compare the relative performance of each unit. I charge various mobile devices for 10 minutes and measuring how much each unit was charge in that 10 minute period.

Here are the results of my tests with LuguLake 12000:

✔ Nexus 7 Tab:_____________________3%___ AC source

✔ Samsung Galaxy Nexus Phone:______8%___ AC source

✔ iPad Mini:______________________ 4%___ AC source

✔ Samsung Galaxy 7.7 Tab:_________ 4%___ AC source (with charging cable, discharging with a data cable)

I use Battery App by Elvison to determine how each device recognized the charging source. 'AC' status means the charging is at full charging rate. 'USB' status indicates charging at a lower charging rate. 'Discharging' status means that the charging rate is below the power that the device is consuming so it slows down the discharge rate but does not re-charge.

Photos #4,5,6 show the various devices as I was running the tests.

Prior to this battery pack the best test results I got was from Yubi Power YP840A 8400mAh (Nexus 7 was 7%(port1) and 4%(port2), Nexus phone was 7%(port1) and 8%(port2), Samsung Galaxy 7.7 3%(port1) and 0%(port2). As you see this one is on par or better with the best I have tested.

JUMPER CABLES

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To test the jumper cables, I attached the volt meter to battery clamps. As you can see in photo #2, the reading is 12.24v which is sufficient to jump the car. I now keep this case in my car and will update this review when I will have a chance to use it to restart a dead battery.
To jump the car the power back should be more than half full of charge. There are 5 lights that indicate the charging state of the pack and it should at least 3 light out of 5 on with a steady blue light. The manual recommends recharging the power every three months when it is not in use.
LAPTOP
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The package contains 8 adapters for laptop power plug, and one of them fit my IBM laptop.

✔ Laptop:_______charged from 20% to 35% in 30 minutes (external battery pack went from 100% full to empty)

By comparison, Intocircuit Power Castle Series PC26000 power pack, charge the same laptop from 5% to 69% in 1 hour (external battery pack went from 100% full to empty).

When LuguLake 12000 was done charging my laptop, I touched it to unplug from my laptop and had to drop it back on the table. It was extremely hot. If you use the power pack to charge your laptop please be careful how you handle immediately after it finished charging. The unit cooled off in about 10 minutes.

OTHER NOTES

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. The labels for outlets on the unit are written in faint grey font, they are hard to see on white background. Input and output ports look very similar, and the labels are very important.
2. The package itself and the manual are aimed at a Chinese market. Some of the writing in the box does not have English translations. The manual has one side in Chinese and the back in English. All but one page of the manual appear to have the same content, but Chinese language has one page that was not translated.
I received this unit for evaluation and testing from manufacture. Based on the tests it performed very well with my the mobile devices, but did not do well with the laptop. I also like the leather case that keeps everything neatly together.
I was a bit skeptical (to say the least) when I was contacted by LuguLake to test and review this battery charger. I've charged my iPad and cell phone many times using batteries like this, but jump starting a car? Running my computer? After several e-mails concerning what it did (and how it did it), I agreed to accept a complimentary sample to consider for a review.
I don't think there is anything else out on the market today that does all of the things that this little battery (about the half size of a paperback book) does. Here are some of the features that really impressed me:
1) The sheer variety of the tips. You can charge anything, from cell phones to computers just attach one of the tips and hook it up. This will likely be the most used function from my perspective, it states it will run a computer up to 3 hours. Since computers vary in power consumption, I would carry it as a back up, but would test it before I considered how long it would charge my personal computer.
2) It has ALMOST every type of tip to charge mobile phones and devices. Well, except for the iPhone and iPad. If you are planning to use it to charge one of those, you will need to keep this specific cord in this kit.
3) It has connectors to jump start your car. You connect the red clamp to the positive and the black clamp to the negative (I know this is standard, but I wish they had put a small mark on the clamp, I have added a label in case I can't read the instructions if I ever need to use it). Then you plug it into the battery and turn it on, you can then start your car. Once it is started you simply remove the cables.
Will it work? That was the topic of several e-mails back and forth with LuguLake. They actually recommended that I disconnect my battery and use this to start the car to confirm it. In fact, they were very confident that it would work that way, since reviewers in other countries have done the test to prove it works. They actually ASKED me to try it so that I could confirm that it would work. They were confident enough of their product, that it impressed me. However, testing it this way was a bit out of my area of expertise, and I chose not to do so.
Along this same line, you might wonder about the batteries that use the power plug in your car as an alternative. These are actually small trickle chargers that take about 20 minutes to charge your battery enough for it to start on its own. LuguLake has decided to make theirs in a way that will actually jump start the car, so you can get on your way immediately. It is supposed to support three jump starts on your car, but hopefully you will need only one.
4) You can charge the battery either using the included charger for the car OR using your home power. Mine arrived fully charged. You need to "top it off" about once a month to make sure you have power when you need it, or make sure it is charged anytime you have used it. The car charger makes this easy if you are keeping it in your car.
5) It has an emergency light, with two kinds of flashers. In order to turn it on, you hold the power button down for approximately 5 seconds. You can then cycle through the different modes.
6) All of this comes in a nice black case about the size of a large hardcover book.
I have been able to test all of the features except for the jump start feature and actually hope I never need to test it under live conditions, and am happy to be able to recommend it to you based upon my experiences.
80 AMP RELAY 12 VOLTS
80 AMP RELAY 12 VOLTSI purchased this solenoid to power an electric fan conversion on my 1992 Chevy S10. The electric motor/fan was originally out of a 1993 Chevy Beretta GT and the wiring showed it needing a 30-amp fuse. I figured since this solenoid is rated at 80 amp continuous/150 max, it should do the trick. I installed the solenoid, hooking one of the small terminals to the ignition switch on the fuse block, and the other to ground. I, or course, then hooked one of the large terminals to the hot wire coming off of the alternator, and the other terminal to the positive terminal on the fan. I now have over a thousand miles on this solenoid and I'm not sure if it's even gotten warm (even sitting in the engine bay next to the battery).
Overall, this solenoid seems pretty bulletproof if doing an e-fan conversion, and I couldn't be happier about my purchase!
I used this to install a 1 speed 98 lincoln mark vIII fan on my truck.. this relay has held the duty very well so far.
