OK I finally was able to get out there and set these up with my solar battery maintainers only to find the polarity is BACKWARDS on theses from all my solar panels? I know I could just cut the wires and reverse the polarity but I should not have to. Guess I am eating ANOTHER shipping charge from Amazon when I return these and lose my super saver shipping

I rated this inverter 5 stars because it charged what I wanted, and when I checked the ac output with a Kill A Watt Electricity Usage Monitor 120 to 121 volts displayed. Also 63.2 Hz to 63.3 Hz displayed when I check the frequency. I only connected items that consumed less than 100 watts. The inverter was tested with two different computers and a cell phone. I charged a 90 watt computer by itself on my 100 watt inverter. Then I unplugged the 90 watt computer. Then I plugged in and charged the 85 watt computer at the same time with my cell phone. Because all of my items charged, I recommend this product. Also the inverter I received looked a bit different. The inverter that arrived does not have the socket size adjuster. (The little switch that is on the part that goes into the cigarette lighter.) This is good because I didn't need it. My inverter fit in both of my cigarette lighter sockets perfectly! Also you can look at the CyberPower web site and see that this inverter has a 150 degree swivel head. I hear the fan in the inverter, but the sound is so low, I do not mind it at all. Also I only used this inverter while the vehicle is turned on and running. This inverter works great for me!

Bought this at Wal*mart a few months back and at first it worked pretty well. Then it began cutting off and then back on again over and over which caused the computer to lose more charge than it was getting. The only way around this was to leave the car running the whole time it was in use.

A couple days ago it started making an awful noise when plugged in. The noise was more of an annoyance than anything until a burning smell came from it and smoke came out of the side air vents!

For the nearly $40 it cost to buy it I would say it is definitely NOT worth it (and it was a big mistake to throw the package and receipt out) since it lasted only about 3 months!

Edit: Just wanted to add that it also began blowing the fuse to the 12v accessory socket...

I didn't keep it long enough to rate it durability or reliability for a car trip. Which was the intention. I need a simple little inverter for my 15 watts of DVD playing power needs and a little for my cell phone. Well it was working fine for the short time I used it. But within a minute the fan kicked on and it was the loudest fan I have heard in an inverter. So I returned it right away.

Sad too as I love my CyberPower UPS systems for my computers at home. So I was looking forward to trying an inverter under their brand labeling. Even though they likely didn't design the internals.

Other than the loud fan, for the short time I did have it, I liked the firm swivel joint as it held it's position great. No annoying lights. But at the same time a dimly lit LED would have been nice to know it is getting power and working. But the fan makes that painfully obvious.

I also could not find details on the packaging or unit about the amperage of the USB port. It did power and charge my Galaxy S3, but not sure how fast. So not sure it's enough for a 2W + tablet, etc.

Sadly I just couldn't accept the volume of the fan and returned it. 1 star = "I hate it" on the Amazon scale, and the ultra loud fan made me "hate it".

I'm not to sure if this, is, the inverters fault or my car's but I will assume it is the inverter. First use it ran hot and got loud. After maybe 40 secs it tripped the cig lighter circuit and turned off.

It must have been a sight watching me opening and closing my car door, starting the motor and shutting it off over and over, and running in and out a bunch of times. I have no complaints. Well, just one. I wish I'd had the correct instructions from the start and that will cost them one star because now my neighbors probably think I'm crazy. But it was not that big a deal. The product looks and works great after 3 months. Will definitely recommend this seller to others.

The clicker came with a business card which had a link with instructions on how to program the clicker to your car.

The website they send you to sucks balls, they instructions they give are just incorrect so you end up looking like a guy with OCD just opening a shutting your car door. Fortunately the real instructions took 30 sec to find on google so I'll still give it 5 stars anyway. Saves a ton of money over what the dealership will charge

my 10 year old loves the car. really fun and easy to drive and FAST, but we've gone thru a ton of batteries in 6 days. seems it only runs for about 10 minutes on the fresh batteries, then you need to add more. we will buy rechargeables for this, but it doesn't have a long play time.

Just recieved this as a present and can say it is a really good product. It's a lot of fun to drive, the controls are customizable to your preference as far as throttle input sensitivity, and the app also shows you how much energy is left in the batteries.

As someone already posted the battery life is short, but from my experience the battery life is about normal, if not a little longer. I drove it last night for 15 minutes and the in app charge showed 50% still. Besides I'll just use some rechargeble AA batteries and be good to go.

Three cautions:

1) The car has beautiful finish, but scratches easily as it doesn't have any rubber/hard plastic bumpers. Be careful

2) Low clearance means this car can only be used on smooth pavement. Be careful around foot/car traffic for the car and most importantly the user

3) Bluetooth range is short sadly (30 feet maybe), this is true of all devices not just this one. I've had RC cars with 2-3x the range of this, so that took time to get used to. This can be a problem if you lose connection in a heavily trafficed area and you can't steer it out of danger.

Just received this today and love it so far! It is definitely fast, so a big area to play with it would be best. Getting a handle on the controls is a little tricky at first, but luckily the app offers a joystick mode as well. Lots of fun extras, like turning on the headlights, hazards, honking the horn.

App was easy to download & set up. Was up and running in minutes. Definitely will be having lots of fun with my new Ferrari!

So the battery on my recently purchased 2004 Suzuki SV650S no longer held its charge. This is the original battery that's in the bike and the suggested replacement.

I called ALL the local stores and not a single one had this exact battery in stock nor was I willing to settle for a "direct replacement" made by companies I never heard of before for $20-40 than the recommended battery. Why pay more for what may turn out to be a cheap knock off or not meet the requirements? Jump starting a bike is a lot more hassle than a car.

Keep in mind that this battery comes with the acid in a separate container that you need to pour into the battery itself. I was a little hesitant about this at first, but it's absurdly simple. You turn the container upside down, push it into the battery which pierces the container and allows the acid to pour into the battery.

Finally, the added bonus of the battery being shipped separately from the acid means that until you add the acid, it's not decaying. Precharged batteries begin to decay the second the acid is added. You can order this battery today and store it as a backup as long as you like.

So this battery ships the acid separately from the battery and you need to fill it before use, this is actually a really good thing since the battery won't be sitting on the shelf degrading. This video just shows that simple process. I should have been wearing some type of safety glasses and gloves... I just wanted to show people how simple they made this.

This battery is replacing the stock battery (exact same model) that I had in my bike which lasted 8+ years...

I charged the unit fully when it arrived. It did become slightly warm to the touch, but it did not get hot at all.

When my 2007 Honda CRV's car battery was sufficiently discharged to a level when it would not start, I followed the instructions on the unit's 12V cable tag. After about 15 minutes being plugged-in and attached to my vehicle's 12V outlet, the unit's display informed me that I could now attempt starting-up the car. I tried it and it started-up successfully!

The next month, my 2001 Volvo V70 station wagon's car battery was now sufficiently discharged that it would not start the engine. My unit didn't work right out of the box. When I called tech support to make sure I was doing everything right, I was greeted by a very rude operator who tried to tell me the unit had been discontinued for a number of years and was out of warranty. When I confronted him with the copyright on the manual being just 1 year old, I was told that I should deal with the retailer. I had higher expectations of Stanley and they will be getting a letter from me. This company they have sold their name to (so has Black & Decker and another big name I forget) is destroying their reputation.

It looks like a solid unit, with pretty clear instructions. I had difficulty trying to "revive" a battery in a mercedes S500. This unit simply did not detect that a battery was there, either because the battery was dead or because the accessory outlet isn't hot at all times.

Long story short, I just ended up jump-starting the S500 with my 2nd vehicle. Just for fun, I tried charging my 2nd vehicle (a Chevy van) and it did work, but after the charge cycle the unit's battery almost depleted. So, if this thing doesn't work on the first try I'm not sure if you'll get a full shot at a second go.

This would be ultimate last resort. It comes built in with a flash-light, which I feel would come more in handy in an emergency. Like some of the other reviews state, this is more just to "keep your battery topped off" rather than trying to bring it back from the dead. Just my two cents.

I have an remote starter on my car and after work I figured I'll start my car as I walk to it. The car didn't start but the headlights were on. I went inside the car and tried to start it with the key and nada. No noise or anything. My automatic starter must've glitched. I kept trying to turn the key to start my car in hopes by magic it'll turn over. NO luck. I suggest anyone owning or considering buying this product read the post by Robert on 11/28/2010, esp. this part:

"The built-in indicator showing the units strength must be used when unit is ACTUALLY charging, otherwise false reading may occur."

I can confirm that to be true. The indicator may show the unit at full strength when it is actually 50% discharged. It appears that you only get a true indication when it is charging that is not made clear in the manual.

I tested the amperage on the AC charger and got a reading of about 150 ma. At that rate it would take about 27 hours to re-charge the unit's 8 ah battery if it were 50% discharged. So if you use this as a 12 volt power source, you may need to charge it a while to get it fully recharged.

"Heavy Duty" means something is made to be used a lot, that's not the case with these Made in China jumper cables. The clamps are low quality steel, and the wiggle in the hinged jaws doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in their potential longevity. Also, as another pointed out, this doesn't appear to be as big as either SAE or AWG 4 gauge multi-strand cable, and that's really important when you plan to carry low voltage, high amperage loads on a long wire (like starting a car 20 feet away).

All that said, these are probably more than capable of jumping a fairly big motor the few times in a car or truck's life you usually have to do that. The electrical connections look pretty good, and over all these look to be better than the truly cheapo, copper-colored-steel-clamped cables that come in most "roadside emergency" kits.

They get 3 stars for being a reasonably good value, but not living up to their advertising. They're probably worth just about the $25 total I paid, but it's not the great deal they appear to be, and I'm not sure whether I'd buy them again.

I guess they're OK for the price, but they are not 4 guage wire, maybe 8 gauge. It would be nice if the wires were molded together to prevent tangling, but it's just 2 pieces of wire with a clamp on each end.

"Copper wire" means wire made of copper. At least that's what it used to mean back when I was in EE school. Here it means aluminum wire with a *very* thin coat of copper on top. The proper term for this stuff is "copper clad wire".

Why should that matter? Copper conducts electricity better than aluminum. It's also more expensive. If I pay for "copper wire" I expect to get it. Aluminum has half the conductivity of copper. In a battery cable, that means you need a cable that's twice as big if it's aluminum.

If you are looking for good jumper cables look elsewhere. You can get the real thing for the price you are paying for these !!!!

I won't go into the type of clamp used, as other reviewers have made mention of the clamp composition. One thing I noticed on the way the cable is connected to the clamp is there is a potential for a poor connection over time. The cable is not bolted or attached with a barrel type compression lug, but rather it is stripped on one side and a fold over type crimp is made to the copper portion of the jaw. I seriously doubt this type of connection will hold up over time, or even carry 500 amps. My other observation is the black and red cables are not secured together. Most booster cables are bonded together along the length of the insulation up to about the last 12" of each end. This set is basically 2 independent cables with clamps on the ends. The problem arises with the potential of "knotting up" the cables during storage and re-use. I used some heavy duty black cable ties to join them together along the length of the set. A quality electrical tape could also be used with the same result. In the warmer months, electrical tape has the tendency to "leak" the adhesive around the tape. This was the main reason I used cable ties; storage during the hot, southern summer months would certainly cause the tape to loose its adhesive qualities. Not a bad product, but keep in mind it is made comparable to the price point.

I was exited when I read this item's description. I have a convertible Mustang that is several years old that, while I love it, I don't drive it as much as I'd like. This, of course, results in an often-drained battery. The Battery Brain Gold promised solutions to all problems. A manual button to cut or reset batter power, an override switch, a remote control so you don't have to lift the hood, an automatic power monitor in case you forget to cut the power or just decide not to, and even direct power connect wires to power specific items while the power is overridden. Fantastic! Except it doesn't work.

The brain was pretty simple to install and it worked for two days, giving me false hope. And when I say two days, I mean a drive to the gas station one day and a three mile drive to work the next. Nothing happened when I tried to cut power after arriving at my office that second day. The remote was completely ineffective. Upon arriving at home at the end of the day I opened the hood and tried the manual button. Nothing. Not only did it not cut power, the button didn't even click. It has ceased to anything at all.

Believing that the unit was simply defective, I ordered another. This one didn't even work as well as the first. The button didn't work at all and the remote cut power twice before stopping and never restored power. I had to manually override the device and then just disconnect it.

I really do not feel it's worth the money on this one; and to make things worse, Amazon increased its price by $30 since I purchased it! I will now try a manual switch which will physically sever the power flow and pay $60 less to simply raise the hood.

My battery brain worked as advertised until it died for no reason four months later. The only reason I gave two stars instead of one is that it does work . . . until it stops working. Based on some other reviews I have read, it seems that I am not the only victim. I would stay away until they change the design and solve whatever is making these things fail.

I installed the Battery Brain Gold as an alternative to a remote mount manual kill switch (I have an old car and I like to disconnect the battery in case of shorts when it's not in use. Harder to steal as well)

The device installed pretty easily and included all the hardware neededand then somebut it can be awkward if you don't have some space around the battery or the positive battery cable length is marginal.

Don't have a long term feel for it yet...I'll add comments if it fails to perform.

Put this on my 2006 Corvette because it sits a lot and after a couple of weeks the battery could go dead. Used it for about a week and then finally took it off. Started actively driving the car again (with a new battery) I'd park the car, go back to start it 10 minutes later and it would have disconnected my battery for no reason. Was random. May work on some cars but is probably pure luck at what their trigger threshold is. Would not recommend.

I read a review on another message board that this works with the Sirius Stratus 6 receiver. I took a chance and it DOES work. Even though the Stratus 6 is not listed as having a remote receiver, you can clearly see one on the face of it. So if you are looking a cheap remote, I highly recommend this one.

It was cheap so it is not a big deal, but nowhere does it say that it won't work with Edge radioes. For your information, though, Edge radioes will not work with any remote. This would be nice for the makers of the radio to put somewhere on the box.

Ordered 2 of these units. One is used in the truck w/a Stratus 5. The other, in the bedroom w/a Stratus 6. Not all the remote functions will work w/either radio simply because these are basic radios and do not have the high tech features. on/off/mute/volume/menu/scrolling thru and selecting channels and the basic stuff all works just fine.

Creates a safer driving experience since ya don;t have to physically operate the radio itself.

When I first bought my Sirius receiver I had a remote to use, but after I accidentally crushed it, it was exceedingly difficult to change stations on the Sirius Radio. With the depth of distance between the driver and the windshield on cars today, the distance between the user and the receiver is often 1, to 1 and a half meters. Far too far to be able to change stations without stopping the vehicle.

I now have a remote, again, that allows me to change stations easily on my Sirius receiver, and do it safely while driving.

I have a Garmin so I know how to install and lock on a windshield mount. This one would not mount no matter what I did. My 21 year old grandson also tried with no luck. When I tried to send it back they insinuated it was my fault it would not mount! They finally but begrudgingly sent me a prepaid shipping label. Do not wish to deal with them again!
