Jabra DRIVE Bluetooth In-Car Speakerphone - Retail Packaging - Black

Jabra DRIVE Bluetooth In-Car Speakerphone - Retail Packaging - BlackI got the Jabra Drive for my wife's car and since she has zero tolerance for anything that takes more than 30 seconds to learn how to use, I specifically chose this model based on it being marketed as simple to use. In that regard, it does live up to it's billing. However ...

The marketing collateral says "...it will connect automatically whenever you get into the car" and this is just not true. Once I read the actual user guide, which by the way has to be downloaded from the Jabra site it makes it pretty clear how it actually works. What the Jabra Drive will do is go into "Sleep mode" when the phones it is connected to go out of Bluetooth range (~50 feet). Then if one of the phones comes back into range within 10 minutes it will automatically connect and go back into "Standby mode" and you are good to make and receive calls. Otherwise, the Jabra Drive will automatically shut off to save battery life. To reconnect, you have to slide the itty-bitty on-off switch to off and then back on again, at which point it will confirm you are connected by saying so.

So the point is that "...it will connect automatically whenever you get into the car" only applies if you get back into the car within 10 minutes from when you left. Good to know ...

That all said; it will connect to two phones simultaneously which is a pretty handy feature in that both my wife and daughter can use the unit together or separately without me needing to reconfigure anything, which is a blessing. Also, pairing was very easy probably the easiest I've experienced with all the various Bluetooth products I've used.

So my recommendation to anyone looking to purchase the Jabra Drive is to understand the caveat regarding Sleep mode and as long as that's not a show stopper for you the product pretty much works as advertised.

Note to Jabra: I suggest once the device goes into sleep mode it could be "awakened" by pressing the "Answer/end" button instead which would be much SIMPLER for the user instead of toggling the itty-bitty on-off switch. Just sayin' ...

The thing about a bluetooth speakerphone or earpiece is that it works best when you actually have it with you. Now, that sounds obvious, and it is, but it's funny how often I'm surprised by how true it is. You see, I have a pretty nice Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth Earpiece (Black, Retail Packaging) but have gotten out of the habit of using it because it's yet one more piece of technology I need to bring along. Plus, I don't particularly like the whole "bluetooth earpiece in the ear all the time" fashion that is supposed to, I suppose, suggest how so very important you are that you have to have something in your ear every second, like you're a communications officer for Starfleet.

I also have a Garmin nüvi 2360LMT 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with US Canada Mexico Lifetime Traffic & Map Updates, which has a really great bluetooth speakerphone built in. Very easy to make calls using voice activation. The sound quality is great. But, I don't like to bring that everywhere I go, especially when I'm going to or from well known locations. I don't want people to steal it, or break into my car looking for it. So, my primitive security measure is to not bring it when I won't need it.

However, even when I know where I am and where I'm going, I still will get calls while I'm out and about. It is illegal here in California to talk on a cell phone while driving. And it's often far too inconvenient to pull over to the side of the road just to answer a couple of questions, or catch up with a friend. Which has meant, in the recent past, that I flout the law at times by talking on my cell phone, all the while hoping that a cop doesn't see me, and all the while wishing that I had brought by earpiece or gps.

That's why I like this Jabra so much. It does one thing and it does it well. Pairing it with a phone couldn't be easier, even older phones that don't usually have any bells or whistles. As long as they have bluetooth, they connect with ease. Two can connect at once.

The sound is loud and fairly good, though my gps is a bit more clear. The best thing, I think, is that this is fairly small, about the size of a garage door opener. It matches that shape too, so is entirely unobtrusive hanging on my driver's side visor.

Easy to use, unobtrusive, good sound quality, good battery life. All these things combined mean that this is the bluetooth speakerphone that actually gets used because it's the one that always stays in the car.

Though, I've also learned it serves a handy purpose beyond just staying in the car. It also makes for a good speakerphone in general, as it is much louder than the one on my cell phone.

So, it works and it is highly convenient.

That's exactly what I need.

I'm not a fan of the bluetooth sets that you stick in your ear so the idea of reviewing a speakerphone version was actually right up my alley. I seem to get most of my phone calls when I'm in my car, so this scenario worked our well for me for the most part.

Here are the pros and cons of my experience:

The Good: Easy to use, easy to set up. I'm slowly getting more savvy with electronics but I'm still pretty much a dim bulb as far as set up and everything goes. This didn't really come with any instructions but then they didn't really need to for the most part. My phone connected rather quickly to the Jabra, which was good, and I was soon on my way to making many, many phone calls. I liked that I could clip it to my visor and let it do its thing up there. Also nice was that I could use it to listen to music that I had downloaded to my phone. The battery charge lasts long enough for my purposes and I liked that you could easily replace the cord if you lost/forgot the one that came with the speakerphone. I hate it when I get things with cords that can only be replaced by the company, so this was a nice touch. I also liked that the phone's volume was pretty loud since I sometimes have trouble hearing things as well as others might. I still had to occasionally ask someone to repeat themselves, but that's more my issue than the speakerphone's.

The Bad and Inbetween: While I liked that I could clip it to my visor, I found that unless I wanted to put myself at risk of getting it stolen I had to either take it down after each car ride or flip it around to where the speaker part was hidden along the ceiling. This isn't a dealbreaker for me but it just got a little irritating after a while. For a speaker of this size the quality was decent. Music-wise you'd be better off with some of the other options out there (radio, speakers that hook up to your mp3 player, mp3 radio transmitters, etc), but as far as phone call quality went it was better than my phone's speakerphone ability. (My phone is a LG Envy Touch, so that might not be saying much.)

My biggest gripe was that you really needed to have the mic close to your mouth in order for the other person to really hear what you're saying and you'll need to turn off your radio and anything else that might distort the sound. That might sound like a no-brainer, but I found that my car's AC system was (at full and semi-full blast) just slightly too loud and the mic picked it up. I also found that people were having a little trouble hearing people sitting nearby, so if you're hoping to have conference calls with this you'll probably want to make sure that any passengers speak extra loud so they'll be heard. (Although I'm glad to say that a passenger won't have any problems hearing the person on the other end, which is probably what counts in this situation.) This kept me from giving it as high of a rating as I would have otherwise wanted to.

All in all this is a pretty decent unit. For people like me, who don't like the bluetooth earpieces for whatever reason, this will be a nice thing to have.

Bluetooth handsfree has quickly become a very desirable feature on new cars, for the obvious safety and convenience it offers. For those of us without a built-in bluetooth capable head-unit, the visor mounted version is probably one of the best alternatives, as its location on the visor so close to the driver's ears and mouth is nearly ideal.

Pros:

Beautiful and beautifully made. I cannot find another visor mounted model with this much quality and design, and the prices is quite competitive for what you get. It doesn't look like a square garage opene, and the shape isn't overwrought. The metal clip with its high grade plastic functional layouts makes this quite pleasant to behold, and should fit in with the best of car interiors.

Sound: the microphone pick up is fairly clear, and the speaker is quite loud. I wouldn't play music on a speaker like that (see cons), but for phone calls and speech (such as GPS directions), it is quite excellent with emphasis on just the voice sound spectrum.

Longevity: the standby time is really quite long. I haven't really calculated precise numbers, but it has been sitting in my car for almost two months without recharge. It still turns right on. It will hibernate/turn off if left on standby for a while, which probably contributed to the battery life.

Operation: other than the power toggle, which you don't really need to bother with most of the time, everything else (volume, the main button) are all very easy to locate and press, with a good tactile feel. The speaker grille is a giant button in itself, with a discreet, phone handset shaped flashing LED indicator. Pairing and call controls have been nothing but reliable.

Voice prompt: simple things like "Connected" just does wonders in putting out doubts that LEDs never can.

Cons:

A2DP: The headset pairs with A2DP, or bluetooth stereo/media protocol with your phone. The problem is that the speaker is really not made out to play music, and it'll sound pretty tinny and ridiculous. Also A2DP is turned off automatically during a call when Microphone is in use. I wonder if there isn't a way to leave just the call to the Jabra and music to the 3.5mm plug.

Sleep/Hibernate: it will turn off after a while, and so when you enter the car the phone won't automatically pair. It will save the battery and makes sense, but one just has to remember to turn it on if if it doesn't respond with "Connected" as you enter the car. If it's within a few hours it seems to be on standby and it works fine, with automatic pairing happening seamlessly.

I really like this visor headset. Compared to similar products owned by my peers, Jabra Drive's industrial design is almost art. There's little that I can gripe about this, and it worked very well with clear sounds, yet unlike many bluetooth products, also transparently and fairly maintenance free. The long battery life has made that possible, and despite my initial doubts, this has exceeded all my expectations. If you are in the market for a visor mounted bluetooth handsfree, this is definitely worth serious consideration.

For a test, I had my wife set this up. She's not that familiar or comfortable with blue-tooth devices, so I thought doing this would be a good trial. She has a blue tooth capable smart phone, and she had no problem whatsoever connecting it to her phone and using it.

Sound quality is quite good, both for the user of this speakerphone, and for the person on the other end of the call. It fits nicely and securely on the car's sun visor. We found the product quite satisfactory and confidently recommend it.

F30 HD Dual Camera Lens Car Vehicle DVR Cam Dash Video Recorder 8 IR Lights SOS
  • Unique human voice in Chinese, Russian and English, and a numberof exclusive patents
  • SOSemergency button - press SOS button in case of emergency, themachine will automatically save 2 files of the emergency as non-deletablefiles.
  • 2.7"16:9 HD display, dual-lens can rotate by 180 °
  • Fastswitch to the night-shoot mode, the mode is very effective tosolve the overexposure problem, and thereby to see the licenseplate as clearly as possible.
  • Seamless video, up to 30 frames / s

After seeing all the Russian video footage of the meteor explosion of 2013. I decided I had to get one of these camera's. Who knows what interesting things you might capture on video. The product is almost what I expected … my only complaint would be the quality of the video is not quite as good as I would have hoped. It's 1280X480 and that's only if you just use one of the 2 camera's. If you use both at the same time then your down to 640X480. BTW it records what displayed on the LCD screen. Your choices are 1, 2, 1+2 or 2+1. In my case I'm doing 1+2 with one camera facing forward and one out the back windows. I'd like to catch the person behind me texting when they rear end me if that's possible. When going back and reviewing the footage you can make out the cars and their make and model but reading a license plate would be out of the question. Still over all I feel it's a decent product for the money. Keep in mind that you have to buy the Micro SD card separately and it needs to be a class 6 or better speed wise.

Parrot MKi9100 Advanced Bluetooth Hands-Free Music Kit

Parrot MKi9100 Advanced Bluetooth Hands-Free Music Kit
  • Full system dedicated to keeping connected and entertained in your car
  • Blue OLED 2 lines Screen lets you see whose calling or what song is playing
  • Double microphone technology eliminates background and surrounding noise, including noise from inside the car
  • Listen to your digital music in the car: compatible with all music sources, such as iPods, iPhones, and more
  • Cutting-edge telephony functions like automatic phonebook synchronization, training-free multi-speaker voice recognition, and more

I installed this in our Honda Fit using an aftermarket harness to make it (almost) "plug and play." I decided to purchase this rather than the Bluetooth add-on for the (Pioneer) stereo already installed, as it (Pioneer's Bluetooth unit) received pretty mediocre reviews, cost more, and of course wouldn't work if I eventually decide to put in a different brand stereo someday.

If you're never installed a car radio before, this probably isn't the first thing you should install yourself -I'd recommend having it professionally installed, since there are a good-sized handful of cables coming out of this thing that need to get routed properly, and you will most likely have to do some minor drilling and/or cutting to count the display and microphone if you want a really "clean" installation. As a yardstick, I probably spent 4 hours total on the installation.

Anyway, then, it does work as designed. The interface is fast and responsive, and I like the quality of the display. The software is pretty well thought out -perhaps A++-super-nerd programmers don't work at Parrot, but certainly above-average ones do. Pairing works quite nicely, automatically connecting to my phone when I get in the car & turn on the ignition and disconnecting shortly after the ignition goes off. When you're on a call, it asserts the "mute" line to the car's stereo which also pauses CD/USB/iPod playback, which is nice. I haven't had any of the communication failures/lock-ups that another reviewer here did.

Some minor gripes are as follows:

-While the noise reduction is effective up to ~45MPH (most callers wouldn't be able to guess you're calling from a car), it breaks down at highway speeds: Callers will still find you intelligible, but the occasional piece of a word is cut off and there is noticeable distortion. I attribute this so some degree to the rather noisy interior that is the Honda Fit (and most other inexpensive Hondas, for that matter) -at some level apparently the Parrot just can't reliably separate your voice from the as loud or louder cabin noise. Those with quieter cabins may not ever experience this problem. (I have tried turning "lateral noise detection" off and it does make things worse.)

-When hanging up calls, I often have to press the "hang up" button a couple of times. I suspect this is likely to be just as much the fault of the Parrot as my phone (a Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2), but it is a bit annoying.

-The manual is rather spartan. While it contains information on all the "basics," it does leave out explanations for some menu functions, which you're hence left to guess at. While most have names that make it easy to figure them out, there are a few where it's not quite clear exactly what the option does.

I think that this is a little on the spendy side for what you're getting, but overall I'm happy with it and feel that I've received a reasonable (if not spectacular) value for the money.

---

Update, mid-2011:

As other people have reported here, after about a year, the remote stopped working consistently. After messing around with it for awhile, it became clear that much of the "springiness" in the little "finger tab" contact that touches the negative side of the battery was gone and hence the battery no longer made good, solid contact to the electronics. I initially figured I'd stuff a small piece of aluminum foil (or just something stiff-but-spongy) underneath the contact, but after opening up the remote (there's just one screw under the label on the back side), I instead decided to fold the finger tab back on itself so that it's now more of a "U" shape and provides considerably more pressure between the battery and itself than ever before. So far this has worked quite well, and I'm most pleased with the 10-minute fix.

I do believe this is a design defect. Perhaps Parrot has fixed it by now? -They could readily solder down a differently shaped contact than the one my remote came with, so hopefully at some point they did update the design and fixed this problem.

One other thing: I've switched phones since writing the original review (now it's Android 2.3), and the "hang up" button does now work consistently.

Note that Parrot has released at least 3 or 4 firmware upgrades since my original review; I recommend obtaining them since, as least from where I'm sitting, the "fixed bugs / new features" list for the newer versions strike me as useful / attractive.

I had this Parrot professionaly installed on my Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD, it works great for making and receiving calls, windows down or up, people hear me great on the other side, noone has complained about hearing noises on the background.

It pulls not only my contact list from my iPhone but also the battery charge level on the little screen. Voice commands work amazingly good.

The only complaint I have is that if you turn on the unit (when you turn on your car) with the iPhone already connected to the radio, when the iPhone starts to play music, the Parrot will detect it and WILL swap the music to bluetooth, that means that it will mute the radio, freeze the iPhone music controls on it and transfer both audio and iPhone controls to the Parrot unit.... I hate that. The only way I get around this is to connect the iPhone to my radio interface AFTER the Parrot has turned on completely and detected and sincronized the iPhone.

But, again, the bluetooth connectivity for making and receiving calls, works like a charm.

I got this kit to replace an aging CK3100. I'm a HUGE fan of Parrot hands-free kits. I don't like bluetooth headsets: mine was never charged when I needed it; was uncomfortable after a few minutes; got misplaced all the time.

== background ==

When I originally purchased my ck3100, I was a bit skeptical about Parrot/had no experience with their products. After installing my ck3100, any doubts were erased from my mind. Parrot kits are solid and function very well.

I had a ck3100 and absolutely LOVED it. It did what it was supposed to, and didn't try to be more than what it was. I loved it so much, that I uninstalled it from my old car, and re-installed it in my current car. Alas, all good things must come to an end, and my trusty ck3100 died on me (after 6+ years).

Enter the MKi9100. While looking for a replacement for my beloved ck3100, I didn't want something with "a bunch of extra crap". The MKi9100 is a perfect upgrade. While researching a replacement for my ck3100, I made a list of "must haves" and "nice to haves".

== must have ==

the same basic functionality as the ck3100

the caller id screen should not be part of a stereo head unit

the display should be able to be mounted *anywhere*

a small footprint: no big screens, parts, etc.

must work seamlessly w/ iphone

== nice to have ==

music (bluebox -> stereo): via cable or bluetooth

have a remote control, so I can reach the buttons without moving/reaching too far (ya, I'm lazy)

== conclusions ==

::overall::

The MKi9100 meets all of my conditions, and has a few "bonus" features that I really like:

removable caller id screen (the small base mounts wherever you want, and the actual screen is detachable

Black & Decker VEC010BD Start It 300 Amp Jump Starter

Black & Decker VEC010BD Start It 300 Amp Jump StarterThis is a nice unit for starting cars, as noted below. But it may be too small for some other 12-volt applications. The lighter-socket outlet will shut off if you exceed 5 amps of continuous draw. At 12 volts, that would be 60 watts, and as luck would have it, my laptop PC requires 90 watts (7.5 amps) when plugged directly into a 12 volt source.

Also, in terms of total amp/hours, it would not be able to power something like a CPAP machine for a full night's use, which some people might like to do on a camping trip or the like. The description touts the unit's non-automotive power uses, but they are really somewhat modest. Charging a cell phone is not much of a challenge!

It works fine for starting cars, though. This appears to be identical to the Vector VEC010S, which is the unit I have. ("BD" at the end of this product ID is obviously just for Black and Decker's labeling on the front).

My car battery went dead in mid-winter, and I thought it was shot. A neighbor had this same unit, and in the spring I borrowed it twice to start the car, which went fine, even though his unit wasn't even fully charged when I borrowed it.

Finally I bought my own, charged it overnight as per the instructions, three hours past the blinking green. When I went to jump the car, for some reason it would not start right up as it had the other times. On the first attempt, the car turned over and over, but wouldn't kick in, and the effort drew down the jump starter's cranking power to zilch. Everything stopped.

The car had not cranked long enough to become flooded, so that was not the problem. I suspected that I might not have set the clamps correctly to get a "clean" grip, and that this reduced the power available for cranking.

The instructions tell you to wait a little after long cranking, so I did. I also reset the clamps (which are perfectly strong and fine, by the way!)After a few minutes, the unit had regained some of its cranking power, and it got the car going easily.

Back inside, I plugged the starter back in to charge up, and it took several hours to get back to full (blinking green light). Apparently, getting the car going had used quite a bit of juice.

The next time I needed to jump the car, it was instantaneous, and I performed multiple jumps without needing a new charge. So, unless there is something unusual about the first usage, I suspect that my placement of the clamps was to blame. The well-written instructions are clear about the need for a good connection, after all.

If you do want it mostly for jump starts, and do not expect to need it as an "emergency power" source for long hours, or to run any kind of serious appliance, it is a fine choice.

Unit appears to be solidly constructed. Maybe I lucked out and got an upgraded version, but there have been a couple of reviewers that said the the plastic clamps snapped. The unit I have (manufactured 11/06) has ALL METAL clamps, very much nicer than many regular standard jumper cables.

This unit will hold a charge but needs to be maintained (recharged) at least every 60 days or so.

NEVER charge via the cigarette lighter adapter in your vehicle longer than 3-4 hours. It may be left on AC charge indefinately. It is better to keep it fully charged, discharging this unit will result in shorted cells.

All in all, a very small price to pay for peace of mind, at home and on the road. With a power inverter (less than $20.00) you can have silent power source for lights, cell phones, small tv's, laptops, flourescent lights, etc.

Several people here have mentioned that the clips are made of cheap plastic. I'm happy to report that mine received march 2 2007 has all-metal clips that seem to be quite sturdy! They have definately updated the design.

I have a Honda, which I love, but since I do not drive her on a daily basis now, the battery is tempermental. I bought this product and have had to use it several times. I've found it easy to use and, even when the car battery has been completely dead, this jumpstarter has had more than enough power to get her started. I comparison shopped and the price of this Black & Decker was the best bargain, too. Recommend it highly.

T. Dorau -when properly stored, what you complain about will never happen. A battery should -neverbe stored in sub-zero or near-freezing temperatures. Don't leave it in the garage!

This unit offers "quick" recharging (4 to 5 hours) from a 12V source or gradual recharging (12 to 24 hours) from an AC source.

The AC source may be left connected indefinitely (true "float" charging) which is a plus for a standby power source. The inclusion of the LED light source is very thoughtful on the part of the designer(s).

In addition to jump starting a car, this is a good choice for small household items (TV, Radio, Weather Alert Radio) or emergency communications equipment (CB, Ham Radio).

This product also appears in some stores under the "Husky" and "Vector" brand-names.

I bought this charger for my Magellan Crossover GPS because I left my OEM car charger in a rental car in Florida.I used it one time to charge the unit and it seemed to work ok ,but it ran very hot.The second time I used it it ran for about 5 minutes and was very hot again and then just stopped working.I tested the output voltage ,and there was none and the red LED was very dim.

My old unit did not run hot at all, therefore I would say that the unit was either faulty, or was unable to supply enough output in milliamps (57 m.a. while running/charging or 44 m.a. just on charge) to power my GPS and charge the battery at the same time.

This product was advertised to work with the Magllan GPS to charge the GPS in the car. The cable almost fits the GPS, but is very loose and falls out of the GPS on a regular basis. One has to actually hold it in the equipment in order for it to charge the GPS. It was an inexpensive charge cable, but totally useless. It would have been much cheaper and better to order the original cable from Magellan. This purchase was a waste.

This charger worked great unfortunately it was the Maestro 4000 that has the issue that has nothing to do with this charger. With the charger connects has always given us issues. We thought a new charger would help, but same connection issues...feels it, then doesn't, off then on, etc

Original OEM Car + Travel Charger + Data Cable For Motorola Droid X Includes DBRoth Microfiber Cloth

Original OEM Car + Travel Charger + Data Cable For Motorola Droid X Includes DBRoth Microfiber ClothEven though the Droid X has a good battery, if you use it a lot it will not last the day. This bundle allows you have extra power cords at work and in the car to ensure you can easily recharge your phone.

Received exactly what I ordered, still on the original factory packaging. It truly was original OEM equipment as advertised.

I PURCHASED THE MOTOROLA OEM 4 PC. KIT AT A GOOD PRICE AND EVERYTHING WORK GREAT

Read Best Reviews of Original OEM Car + Travel Charger + Data Cable For Motorola Droid X Includes DBRoth Microfiber Cloth Here

I know the Droid X is an old phone (by now), but when I had my phone plugged into the wall charger, the phone began exhibiting some ridiculously strange behavior such as: opening and closing random apps on its own, opening the messaging app (droid OS default) and typing messages to people in my contact list, creating calendar events with gibberish in the description, and so on. In short, it seemed like my phone was possessed! Never happened with any other charger or when the phone was not plugged in.

I could only attribute it to the wall charger...very weird. Other than that, everything else was great.

Everything was as described. The car charger and data cable work perfectly. Didn't really have much use for an additional wall charger or the screen wipe, but it was a nicely priced bundle. No complaints from me.

Jabra Cruiser Bluetooth Car Kit, Speakerphone-Bulk Packaged

Jabra Cruiser Bluetooth Car Kit, Speakerphone-Bulk PackagedThe product worked as advertised. I was able to set it up in seconds for the blue tooth option. since I don't use the FM radio in my van I did not set up the FM transmitter. I can hear other people just fine and I have not heard anyone say they can't hear me or ask me to repeat myself. Only 1 little glitch after a month of using it. It did disconnect and reconnect once but I think i passed someone else using the same frequency which caused it. The price here was 20% cheaper that Best Buy and it was delivered free. I would recommend this product to all of my friends.

I've been through my share of Bluetooth (BT) headsets so when I found this I was really hoping that the reviews were going to be good and at least 1/2 true. I was and still am blown away with how well this BT Speaker phone works in the car with two different phones. It has an amazing enough battery life the issue ends up being where you put the charger because it doesn't need to be charged very often. Also, the BT connection to my iPhone and then the re-broadcast to the car stereo has been great. A few times when going on a trip or putting the speaker in a rental I've had to switch stations but that was due to local radio stations bleeding through. Only negative that I have on this device is that once it starts talking about a low battery you may as well shut it off because there is no mute, the female voice will say low battery every few minutes until it dies but that is not very often. Great Product, been really happy with it.

I bought the Jabra Cruiser 2 on the recommendation of my friend who owned this version. I was so impressed by the Jabra Cruiser 1 that I figured they couldn't mess things up by improving on the 2. I was poorly mistaken: there are less functions from a bluetooth audio player (AD2P) that the Cruiser 1 had and the quality of the FM transmitter was terrible. The Cruiser 1, on the other hand, seemed flawless and is a much more compact bluetooth receiver. The call quality and the speaker quality are good (haven't really reported any "can't hear you" responses") but the thing I love about this is that it doubles as an FM transmitter for my iPhone (or any bluetooth AD2P capable device). The quality is better than most dedicated FM transmitters I've used in the past (griffin, belkin, you name it) and being able to listen to your calls through your car speakers is much better than through a receiver, especially when you're driving on the highway with all the road noise your car produces. The music portion (AD2P) is my favorite because it offers a play skip reverse set of buttons on this receiver, so no need to look at your phone/player if you want to skip the song or what-not while driving. It helps that they give you an "auto-search" ability, by pressing the volume up button for 5 seconds. And it even auto-shuts off after a period of inactive use, to preserve battery. I LOVE this device

HIGHLY recommend. It's too bad these devices are hard to come by locally.. I hate the 2nd gen. one but I can't return it because i lost the receipt, otherwise I'd pick up ANOTHER cruiser 1 (i already have 2 in my house hold!)

Was very excited to get this unit. Setup was a breeze, and was simply to use. Sound quality thru the car stereo was surprisingly good. Only drawback with FM transmitter was wouldn't tune below 88.1, which most units I have used can which is where all the unused US frequencies are (in other word clear channels so you aren't constantly retuning the channel).

Unfortunately 3 days into using it, the FM transmitter button wouldn't consistently turn the transmitter on or off which is the reason I bought this unit over others. Returned for refund and am shopping for something else.

New R300 2.7" 140° Dual Lens Dash Board Camera Car HD DVR Black Box Video Recorder + GPS Logger

New R300 2.7' 140° Dual Lens Dash Board Camera Car HD DVR Black Box Video Recorder + GPS Logger
  • Video and Audio recording
  • 2.7 "TFT LCD Panel or TV Out, TV Out support NTSC & PAL
  • Dual Lens Camera,1280 x 480 30FPS (2CH Record), 640 x 480 30FPS (1CH Record)
  • Support Memory Card :SDHC Class 64GB ~ 32GB, proprietary file format
  • GPS module support ,G Sensor Support

The camera's resolution of 1280x480 pixels is because there are two cameras and the picture shows two videos of 640x480 side-by-side, therefore the frame size is 1280x480. The camera listed here says it is an HD DVR and this is not true. Amazon should not let people believe that they will have an HD picture just because assuming 1280x480 is an HD standard. It is not and never will be high definition resolution, Wikipedia will help you to make it clear. Full HD is 1920×1080, and 720p HD is 1280x720.

Overall picture is blurry and round "pillow-like", nothing is possible to read, not even a license plate of a car standing right in front! Come on people, it's 2012 already, 0.3mp VGA cameras are out of market like 10 years ago. Camera is worthless in any insurance claim as well, if anything happens they require HD quality. So unless you want just to view the roads you drove and what was happening in car at that time, which maybe helps to taxicab drivers, otherwise it's loss of money, 1 star and returned immediately.

Buy New R300 2.7" 140° Dual Lens Dash Board Camera Car HD DVR Black Box Video Recorder + GPS Logger Now

For what it is, this is a great little DVR. I got mine, put in a MicroSD card, plugged in two wires, and it just worked. Build quality is much better than I expected, it feels like it's put together solidly. For the price that I paid, I was expecting loose fitting, thin plastic shell that creaked and flexed when holding it, this does not do that.

Video quality isn't bad, although it is low resolution. This is clearly stated on the product page in multiple places, so I'm not sure why other reviewers seem surprised by this. Any camera with as wide angle of a lens as this has will have difficulty making out license plates, regardless of the resolution. If you're wanting a camera to read license plates with, get something with a narrower field of view and a high resolution sensor. If you want something that clearly shows what's going on in and around your car, get this one.

Also, this isn't mentioned in the review page, but this unit does show your speed on it. It's only shown in KPH though, there are no options to change it to MPH.

This isn't related to the product review, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Mine was shipped VERY fast. It was well packaged, and arrived in excellent condition. I noticed a lot of people mentioning that they received their cameras poorly packaged and beat up. The seller that I bought mine from was EXCELLENT. It shipped from California, not over seas. The package arrived in good enough shape to be in a retail display.

Pros:

It works well, for what it's designed to do

Exterior camera is wide angle enough to show both sides of the hood, and what's beyond it

Interior camera is wide angle enough to show the entire inside of my pickup, and both side windows

Can easily play back the video (In very low resolution) on the device, without needing to hook it to a computer

Seems to be built well

Cons:

Poorly translated manual, although the device is simple enough to use that this shouldn't be a problem. All menus on the device appear to be translated well.

Requires proprietary software to view playback on a PC.

Mount is relatively large. I've got a pickup with a fairly large windshield, the camera and mount seems to take up a lot of it. This could probably be helped with an aftermarket mount, since the camera uses a standard thread for the mount.

There's a flashing icon on the display, I'm not sure what it means. The manual says nothing about it. It may be because I'm currently using a slower MicroSD card than they recommend.

It would be nice if the wiring harness for the GPS & power were smaller

Overall, I'm very happy with this unit, and would certainly recommend it.

Their idea of High Definition and mine are a little different. All and all, it's a fairly nice Dash Cam. If you're looking for true High Definition though, it's not going to happen with this one. Good Luck!

I've had this product for many months now and I really enjoy having it, it definitely was worth the money. During the day it is great, however at night, unless you are on a light highway, it is useless. But I enjoy the GPS feature, and the gravity sensor. It has 24hr time which I also like, It isn't extremely intuitive, but you only set it up once and rarely download video onto your computer, so it's not a big deal. It said it worked with a mac, however I tried many time and eventually just gave in and looked at the video on my windows 8 laptop.

This camera is a great buy for the money! I was looking for something simple and would cover me if pulled over by the police or in an accident. I also use this camera on the track and it works great. For the money this is an EXCELLENT value.

Pros

* Dual lenses, so you can record both inside and out, but you also have the option to record only out or only inside.

* Suction cup for mounting and it holds up on a 1 G turn!

* Holds up to a 32 Micro SD (sold separately)

* Video downloads super easy

* Camera can be flipped depending on your windshield (my corvette is very steep)

Cons

* GPS isn't built in, so if you want to use that option you will need to plug it in. (I never use it)

* Not the best for night time driving, but I do mostly day time driving.

* Instructions are useless, but I figured everything out pretty quick.

* Downloads are video only. If you have the GPS plugged in you can't download that information (Playback only)

My camera has captured a few different accidents in front of me and the victims loved that I caught everything on this for their insurance companies.

Some of the people are complaining that the camera isn't true HD or it doesn't have built in night vision or the instructions are hard to understand... What do you expect from a dash cam under $60?

TaoTronics® TT-BA01 Wireless Portable Bluetooth Stereo Music Transmitter (Not A Bluetooth Receiver

TaoTronics® TT-BA01 Wireless Portable Bluetooth Stereo Music Transmitter for 3.5mm Audio DevicesI was hesitant to buy this after reading a few of the negative reviews that mentioned a major audio delay. Still, it was the cheapest, decently reviewed solution for my needs. After having the product for about 2 weeks, I can say I'm very happy that I bought it. I use this, in conjunction with the Samsung Modus 3500 HM3500 Premium Noise Cancelling Dual Mono Stereo Bluetooth Headset with 2 Adapters to play games and watch TV without waking up my kids. That includes playing games like Rock Band and Dance Central. With regular games, Dance Central, and TV, I haven't noticed any delay. The delay is noticeable with Rock Band, but it isn't anything that the game can't compensate for. According to the auto calibration, the delay varies between +160 and +200 ms.

In addition to the negligible delay, the battery life is fantastic. It lasts through at least two charges of the headphones (about 8 hours total), and it can still operate while charging. I haven't noticed any degradation in sound quality, either. This is everything I needed it to be, and at a reasonable cost.

I haven't had the transmitter for long, but here is what I have noted so far:

1. Works great with the Kindle in Text to Speech mode.

2. Works great with Kindle Fire playing a show on Hulu+.

3. No lag with the Kindle Fire while watching shows on Hulu+ (I imagine buffering and connections could change this, but works great for me).

4. Works while plugged in and charging (saw in another review that they read it didn't so I tested it).

Only problem I have is half my household is threatening to swipe mine if I don't get them one of these.

I have a zune and unfortunatly it does not have Bluetooth. I found this recommended as a solution and thought it was worth a try. It works great! I wish that my car radio was set up for mp3 players other than Apple and my radio controls would work too. Maybe some day people will realize that not everyone likes Apple and make software compatible to other players. Love the adapter.

TaoTronics and SunValleyTek are all Gentlemen and Scholars for this excellent product and at a good price!

I just tested these transmitters with all 3 of my TV's and with both my Creative D100 and D200 speakers and whatever video/audio delay there is its ever so slight its not even worth mentioning. I'm very impressed with how these work. I have an Altec-Lansing/Plantronics dongle and the performance is the same as with the TaoTronics. The only way I could tell there was any kind of a very slight audio delay was to play the audio from the TV itself at the same time and then you could see the audio was dead on with the TV speakers and just a slight delay from the Bluetooth. Had I not done that it was difficult to tell if there really was any delay. That's how close it is. I'm very pleased with this, especially for the cost of 20 bones. It paired perfectly with my Creative D100 and D200 Bluetooth speakers while they were plugged into my TV's and my Chinese iPod Nano clone. The pairing button and blue/red lights are awesome. The quality of the audio is just fine. My wishlist? Instead of the skinny wire, have the stereo plug attached directly to the unit itself and flip out. Oh yeah!

UPDATE: I decided to make comparison with these and my Plantronics/Altec Lansing Bluetooth dongle that came with my Plantronics BackBeat 903 stereo headset. Ever since I got this Plantronics dongle I've wanted to get another one but they don't sell them separately and if you can find them ever they're absurdly priced. Glad I never got another because these TaoTronics blow them away! The sound through my BackBeat headset is just as good but the volume now goes up about another 30% compared to the Plantronics/Altec Lansing Bluetooth dongle! The volume is also louder on my Creative D100 and D200! These Tao's rock big time!!! Oh yeeeeah!

I purchased this along with LG Tone (HBS-700) Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Headset Retail Packaging Black/Orange to use while at work. Luckily they both have about the same run time of about 8 hours. I plug these into the 3.5mm jack on my speakers and I'm able to walk around my office (up to 30 feet) without any interference at all. I've never heard of this brand and took a chance but it was worth it. Generally i fully discharge the battery and it fully recharges in about 1.5 hours. I'd highly recommend this product.

Husky Liners Custom Fit Heavy Duty Front Floor Mat (Black)

Husky Liners Custom Fit Heavy Duty Front Floor MatBeware! Even though this Husky floor mat listed itself as a correct fit for a Lexus RX 350, the front mats were too small and did not provide proper coverage. The product description even contained erroneous information (which I relied on before I made my purchase). In the product description, it lists front mat size as 37 x 22 x 2 inches -NOT ACCURATE! With my tape measure in hand (after extreme disappointment that the floor mats did not fully cover my front floor area) I measured myself. The actual/correct measurement of the front floor mats is 28 x 18 x 2 inches. A very noticeable difference! The quality of the mat itself was very good. My entire problem was that it was not the size it claimed to be and it does not properly fit a Lexus RX 350. Amazon was a pleasure to deal with and I was able to return at no charge and get a full refund. Subsequently, I purchased the WeatherTech 440141 floor mat -more expensive, good quality and fits exactly. I actually preferred the material of the Husky liner (heavier, flexible rubber), vs. the WeatherTech (lighter, not as flexible and more "plasticy") but material aside, the WeatherTech provides perfect coverage and protection of my carpets.

I bought this for a PTCruiser (front seats): The fit is better than others I have had, and the mat seems substantial.
