Battery Tender 021-0144 Battery Tender Plus 6V Battery Charger

I use this charger to keep the battery in my 1931 Model A fully charged at all times. The eyelet harness that attaches to the battery cables permanently is great as the battery in this car is under the wood floorboards and is hard to access. Now after a ride I just open the hood and plug the Tender harness in and its good to go. Always keeps the battery in good shape.

A Battery Tender will constantly maintain a battery without the damaging effects of a "trickle charger". Full charging initially at 1.25 amps (7.25 volts), the charger will switch to a float-charging mode of 6.8 volts to monitor a 6-volt battery. When the battery is accepting only 0.5 amps, the charger's float mode will decrease both amps and voltage. The amp rate will drop to virtually no current (0.10 milliamps), and the voltage rate will drop to 6.8 volts.

~ The "gassing point" of a 6-volt battery is 6.9 volts. Therefore, applying any voltage greater than 6.9 volts for an extended period of time will overheat the battery and warp the separator plates, permanently damaging the battery.~

(Note: This last paragraph above is the diagnosis for why 99% of all 6 or 12 volt motorcycle batteries fail after only a short life. People unknowingly use a standard 6 or 12 volt battery charger on their new battery which overheats the battery and permanently warps the separator plates. Use a Battery Tender from day one and your battery will outlive it's warranty period.)

I also recommend using "Charge It"(AGL890277Y), a cadmium additive from J.C. Whitney.

Directions for 3-cell, 6-volt M/C batteries:

"Use 1/3 of a 2.5 oz. bottle of "Charge It" into each of the three battery cells BEFORE the acid (electrolyte) is installed. Each cell receives 0.833 fluid ounces of "Charge It" and 7.167 ounces of acid.

iPhone FM Transmitter (4 and 4S)

I bought this as a gift for a teenage girl who is (like all of them) glued to her phone. She asked as a gift for something she could use to listen to her iPhone4s music on her car stereo. Since I'm the techno wizard in the family, she directed that particular wish toward me, knowing I'd research the heck out of it. I also found out her car and stereo were old so no direct cable hookup and no Bluetooth -which meant FM transmitter was the only way to go.

Of course I looked at a *lot* of products. Many were cheaper but most of them used one or more cables in what appeared to be cumbersome holders. I could just see the patience of a teen girl connecting and disconnecting every time she got in or out of the car. I'm also a vehement crusader against distracted driving so I was not willing to give her some thing that might take her eyes off the road and K.I.S.S. was a clincher with this product.

I found this, paid more than I wanted, but it turns out it was worth it. She tried it out immediately and was thrilled. When I told her about the other products I'd found that require wired hookups she told me already had one of those and that it was just a pain to use (so I was right!). She loves how extremely simple it is to use in her own car and in her friends' cars. Turns out you can talk to the iPhone anyway so with this device she just plonks her phone on the dash, puts it in music mode somehow (I'm not an iPhone user myself), and drives off. She can command the phone to change songs by voice and as far as I'm concerned that is the only way to go.

Her only complaint -and she said it was a trivial complaint at best -was that the cute pink cover she already had over the phone would no longer fit with this device attached. Hopefully she'll find another cute pink cover that will fit over this device.

This product is more expensive than most but it is absolutely worth the money, hands down (and hands free!). It works well. (She lives in a big city but she does not have any interference problems -she says it is crystal clear, which some other products apparently do not do well). It is extremely easy to use and incredibly mobile-friendly.

This item installs on the iPhone 4 very easily and is unobtrusive once installed. The sound quality is acceptable, but not audiophile.

One small concern is the way the charging cord protrudes. It can be vulnerable if you are careless with your phone.

This product does not work, as it is not compatible with the iPhone software. The app will not even open, as the "connecting" wheel just keeps spinning and it never actually establishes a connection to the FM network. This company is deceptive; they refuse to give me my full refund for the broken product. Do not buy this or any other products from them. When trying to get help from the customer service and requesting to speak to a supervisor, I was told "it is not likely that you will receive any type of contact from a supervisor". New Battery Kill Safety Shut Off Disconnect Switch

This switch is way more heavy duty than I expected...in a good way. The price is really good for the quality as well. I received my switch on time, with clear instructions and a hand written note of enthusiasm welcoming inquiry calls, install questions and an invitation to upload pics of the install. Just be aware that all you get is the switch. You will most likely need to also purchase X-amount of battery cable and terminals to suit your application. I mounted my switch to a Taylor Cable Battery Box located in the bed of my Tacoma in conjunction with some Pico screw down terminal ends and an Optima battery. I would recommend having your mechanic or someone qualified set this up for you just because you will wind up spending a fortune on the correct tools and parts if you try and buy them all yourself. This is an easy install, but the bits and pieces get expensive. This is great for me because I do a lot of electrical work on the truck myself and this way I don't have to disconnect the battery every time I need to do something. Also useful when not driving for an extended period of time. Accessories drain the battery in about 4 days so this is pretty handy. Glad to have it in the case of an emergency, too. The one time I could have really used this in an emergency, I was lucky to have a buddy with a wood handled shovel.

I got this switch to use as a disconnect on my trailer camper. We use the camper only a few times a year making it a PITA to take the battery out and put it back in every time. I installed this 2 years ago and it is working like a champ! I have purchased cheaper models for use on my jeep for safety and they couldn't handle the abuse. This unit is very well built.

Driving my truck once a week does not help maintain the proper battery charge. I looked at solar trickle chargers but they are too expensive. This item is inexpensive and easy to install. The only thing I did different is install it onto the negative side instead of the positive that was instructed to.

Remember that this will turn off all electronics especially the alarm. A bit of an inconvenience but worth it. I'm tired of bringing in my battery to be charged.

I bought this because my car's electrical components are failing one after another. This wasn't an issue until they started draining my battery while it was sitting. My car is a '97 Oldsmobile Aurora. This is important because the Cranking Amps are 1,000, the peak amps for this device. It has come through with flying colors. I installed it in a day with some heavy-gauge wire and lugs I found here on Amazon. It is pretty stiff which means you know when you turn it on, and it is very unlikely that you will be able to accidentally turn it off.

The only negative thing I have to say about it is that the terminals are on the same plane and relatively close together. This would be an issue if the bolts loosen up and the lugs turn. It is possible that they could turn, touch each other, causing a short circuit. This should not be an issue if you simply wrap the lugs in some type of insulating material. Though I wish the terminals were not on the same plane, can't have everything.

I would recommend this for anyone who is having major electrical problems, or for whatever reason you would want a kill switch. Just remember to insulate the lugs. It has saved me hundreds of dollars in electrical work for a car that is on its last leg, just prolonging the inevitable.

These are not advertised as light duty, but when I got them that's what they are. But hey, I drive a Corolla, they work fine. My manly side wanted some flippin' awesome heavy duty cables, but it's okay.

I read the other reviews when I purchased these, and decided that I didn't need hardcore heavy duty cables for my little Protege. When my battery died, they fired up my car on the first try.

Two weeks later we tried to jump a V8 jeep with these cables and it took about ten minutes of letting the cars sit together before the jeep would start. I don't know the exact physics of this (whether it was the cable or the battery), but when the jeep died again we had better luck with a more intense set of cables.

Since the jeep isn't mine, I'm quite happy with this purchase. They're cheap and they'll get my car started in emergencies.

The truth is the truth.

The wall charger provided with the white cable provided locks your phone while it's being charged, the phone also gets over heated.

The car charger with the white cable provided worked for the first three days if you wrap the cord around the phone. After those 3 days it no longer worked.

I have a usb cable that came with the phone and it works well with the car charger, I haven't tried it with the wall portion.

When the seller read my first negative review, they immediately sent me a refund and asked me to remove my review. I didn't remove it. I'm guessing they took it upon themselves to remove it.

The refund a was a nice gesture, however it doesn't change the fact that this is not a quality product.

Husky Liners Custom Fit Heavy Duty Front Floor Mat (Tan)

I was searching for CUSTOM FIT floor mats and this product came up. It is NOT a custom mat. We were purchasing for a 2008 Honda Odyssey with tan interior. Although the mats would fit in the car, they do not fit like the factory mats that came with the car and the tan color is not even close to matching any of the interior of the vehicle.

The floor mats themselves appear to be good quality, and if you are looking for rugged floor mats and do not care about them being a perfect fit/color, then I would recommend these mats, but I would probably suggest buying the black ones rather than the tan.

But if you are looking for a custom mat that matches your vehicle like the factory mats, then you will be disappointed with these.

Also to note, these mats are two individual mats that fit in front of the driver's and passenger's front seat. They do not cover the front of the vehicle the way the factory mat does, and would probably require some trimming for an ideal fit.

Black & Decker 100-Watt Inverter VEC1044BD

I bought one of these at Walmart for around $15 when I couldn't find my no-name inverters. This one has worked great, I take it on every plane trip I go on. Normally I use this to power my laptop ($15 for an inverter is better than 50-100 for a laptop-specific DC power adapter, if you can even find one). One time when the battery was low, the inverter kept shutting itself off. It would work for a few seconds, then quit until I unplugged + plugged it back in. My theory is that when the laptop battery was extremely low, the power adapter was drawing more wattage than this little inverter could handle. Other than that one time, I've had no problems. Has a little fan noise, normally not noticeable. Definitely recommended, nicer (better built) than the no-name inverters I've tried.

I believe that if everyone would put one of these in their car they would wonder how they did without. Many uses including laptop charge, cell phone, and cordless drills. The noise that the other reviewer refers to is from the fan keeping the unit cool.

I really liked this product when I first bought it. Then the internal fan started making funny noises (much louder than the operating noise). I exchanged it for a new one. The new unit was much quieter than the previous unit, but then started making the same noisy fan. It seems the fan is wobbly and takes a little tapping to get the fan back to the normal alignment.

The car charger and usb cable work fine. The wall charger makes the zen act up while its charging, It's as if random commands are being sent through the charger to the zen. After less than three weeks of use with my new Xoom 2 tablet the seat bolt base where the arm attaches split in half.

The little 'arms' that hold the phone or tablet slide into the holder. Half the arms are so loose that I had to use Superglue to keep them from falling out every time I removed my tablet.

The overall design is ok, but the quality is horrible. It might last for a couple months with a phone which is still unacceptable , but considering that this is made for tablets there is no excuse.

I purchased this mount for my Motorola Xoom and needed something that did not affix to the upper dash because I have a gauge pod up there. I also didn't want something that required me to drill holes or adhere any kind of double-sided tape to any of my interior pieces. This mount is a perfect solution since it mounts to your passenger seat bolt. The arm is flexible yet stiff so it doesn't wobble too much while driving, and the spring-loaded mechanism that holds the tablet seems secure and is easy enough to remove the tablet when leaving your vehicle. I would recommend this to anyone with a 7-10 inch tablet that doesn't want to worry about drilling holes or putting anything sticky on/in your interior.

Pros

-Best car mount I've had so far for the iphone 4s. Usually car mounts won't accommodate cases for the iphone and it's a pain to have to remove it to dock the phone. This is great because it accommodates my skin case, my silicone case my otterbox, basically any case I have on my phone.

-When they say one touch they mean it. I only need one hand to dock my phone when I get in the car. no more fiddling around while driving.

-Suction sticks, even in hot weather the suction has not broken or melted

-Price for something that is simple and just works, 20 bucks with S&H included is a bargain.

Cons

-the side buttons feels a little flimsy. If you are rough with your things this may not last as long. I would say that I take care of my things fairly well so I don't see this as a big problem. I gently place my phone on the mount so I've had no problems with it breaking.

One handed mounting is very convenient. The mount seems to be made of a good quality plastic with strong knobs and hinges. It holds the iPhone 4s in an Acase(TM) iPhone 4 and 4S Superleggera PRO Dual Layer Protection (Black/Black) case (Fits AT&T, Sprint and Verizon iPhone 4 and 4S) with a the charging cable attached. Excellent all my requirements met.

However, the suction cup is almost ridiculous the way it sticks to flat smooth surfaces. After the first application, it is not coming off without some time and effort prying it away (and, yes the suction lock lever was released). I would suggest using a crowbar. It might loosen it's grip with time as some debris accumulates on the surface but that's definitely not the case when new.

My initial plan was to store the mount in the glove box after each use but then I quickly realized that was just not practical. I applied it a second time and plan to leave it there until it falls off. I'm fairly sure the zombie apocalypse will arrive first, so no worries there.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the sticking power of the suction cup. You want it to stay put and it will. However, I imagine the force required to remove a strong healthy non-defanged headcrab would be less than this thing. So, don't say your weren't warned.

I will probably purchase one more for the other car since installation is semi-permanent.

I am so very impressed by this car mount! I have a brand new Samsung Galaxy S III which is a pretty large phone. I have been searching for the right car mount forever and reading reviews of several different makers and models. This is the only one of which I couldn't find a complaint that it didn't fit or it was too wobbly or that the thing just didn't stick to the car surface well. And guess what? It's true! This is a firm holder that sticks like crazy (don't worry, it comes off ...eventually with a lot of muscle, it's just suction device so it won't harm you car interior). The only problem I had was I could get it to stick to the vinyl dash board of my Mini Cooper which is not exactly known for interior real estate. I finally decided on the plexi-glass that covers the gigantic speedometer in the center of my dashboard. It has held really well for a couple of days now, even in the heat of a 105 degree Southern California Summer. It makes me giddy thinking about how cool my car mount is, holding my new cool phone. By the way, this car mount even fits my phone with the protective phone cover on! It was under $20 which worried me that it would be a cheap product, but it just isn't so.

FINAL UPDATE (March 2, 2013) Sadly the replacement product the company sent me fell off the dashboard about 10 days ago, and I could not get it to stick solidly again using the techniques suggested. Maybe it's my 2007 Toyota dashboard, maybe it's the extreme temperatures in Southern CA. Hard to say, but my final review is that this dash mount works great until it stops working, which unfortunately seems to be in four months or less based on my experience. Hopefully they'll figure out how to solve this problem, because the iOttie One-Touch Windshield Dashboard Car Mount Holder has many other great features. But ultimately it doesn't work for me.

UPDATE #2 (Jan 8, 2013) I've been using the replacement "One-Touch Windshield Dashboard Car Mount Holder," which iOttie sent me after the first one stopped sticking, for over 2 months now and it's doing the job. The one catch is that it's been during the winter months, rather than the punishing summer months when the first one failed. So I'll do a final update once my iOttie dash mount has made it through summer. So far, though, I'm very happy and would recommend this product without reservation if you live in a climate where summers aren't as long and hot as they are in southern CA. It mounts easily, is simple to use, and has very versatile positioning, which allows me to position my iPhone close to an air conditioning vent to avoid overheating. I use it just about every time I get into the car. Works great with the Waze app! It's reasonably priced, and iOttie's customer service has been admirable. (iOttie has been checking in periodically via email to see how the product is doing for me.) If the suction holds up through the summer it will definitely be a 5 star product!

UPDATE #1 (Oct 23, 2012) iOttie contacted me via email immediately after I posted my review and offered me a replacement product. Because I liked this dash mount so much aside from the sticking fail, I happily accepted. They shipped it quickly, and I've been using the iOttie ever since, with success. It's been less than a month, so I don't know if the sticking problem will happen again, but the customer service was impressive. I'll update at the 2 month mark when I can have some confidence that my complaint has been resolved.

FIRST REVIEW (Oct 2, 2012): This dashboard car mount iPhone holder worked fantastically until it started falling off my dash board less than 2 months after I received it. I tried cleaning off the suction cup as directed, and that seemed to help briefly, but it wasn't a long-term fix. Disappointing.

In a word, Awesome. This mount is just what I was looking for. I wanted something that held the device securely, but also was easy to get it in and out of. This fits the bill perfectly. It has GREAT adjustability, both vertical adjustment and then a ball adjustment for tilt. The greatest feature is how when you press the phone onto the mount it automatically clamps onto it. I have a More case () on my iphone, so I was a little concerned how the fit would be, but it works great.

I originally was going to use the mount on the dash of my car. The one thing about this mount is that it is a suction cup mount. That wasn't a big deal for me because I have a plastic disk from another mount that I could tape to the dash and then suction cup onto, which was my plan. However, I gave it some thought after looking at how high quality the suction cup is on this mount and, instead, mounted it to the windshield, just under the rear view mirror. I love this position as it makes the device easily accessible. Overall, I couldn't ask for more.

Update: Been using this for around 8 months now. In all the Florida summer heat, the suction cup never came off the windshield, which is a rarity! Still love the mount and would highly recommend.

Husky Liners Custom Fit Heavy Duty Front Floor Mat (Black)

Beware! Even though this Husky floor mat listed itself as a correct fit for a Lexus RX 350, the front mats were too small and did not provide proper coverage. The product description even contained erroneous information (which I relied on before I made my purchase). In the product description, it lists front mat size as 37 x 22 x 2 inches -NOT ACCURATE! With my tape measure in hand (after extreme disappointment that the floor mats did not fully cover my front floor area) I measured myself. The actual/correct measurement of the front floor mats is 28 x 18 x 2 inches. A very noticeable difference! The quality of the mat itself was very good. My entire problem was that it was not the size it claimed to be and it does not properly fit a Lexus RX 350. Amazon was a pleasure to deal with and I was able to return at no charge and get a full refund. Subsequently, I purchased the WeatherTech 440141 floor mat -more expensive, good quality and fits exactly. I actually preferred the material of the Husky liner (heavier, flexible rubber), vs. the WeatherTech (lighter, not as flexible and more "plasticy") but material aside, the WeatherTech provides perfect coverage and protection of my carpets.

I bought this for a PTCruiser (front seats): The fit is better than others I have had, and the mat seems substantial.

I bought these for my husband's 2008 Corolla. The claim was that they were a perfect fit but it isn't. It is very close, but we had to trim a little off for the driver's side mat. Overall not a big deal, I still highly recommend these mats.
