Motion Detect Car Dash Video Camera Recorder DVR

Motion Detect Car Dash Video Camera Recorder DVR
  • 2.5'' Big LCD Screen
  • Video recording with sound,Photo taking
  • High speed recording,Motion detect function,HDMI output
  • Real Time & Date display on video/photo
  • 3 file playback modes: On camera, on Computer, on HDTV

This camera had a good price, but it is a disappointment. Note that this is an older model; the latest models have an HDMI port and fewer bugs.

* Not 720p / JPEG encoding artifacts: -1 Star

The CCD in this camera is natively 640x480. If you choose the 720p recording mode, then the camera just does pixel-doubling in software.

This dashcam records to MJPEG files. You won't be able to read license plates or recognize most faces because of compression artifacts. The firmware lacks an option for changing JPEG quality.

* Stops Recording When SD Card Is Full: -1 Star

When the dashcam needs to rotate files on the SD card, it stops recording for up to two minutes, but an entire accident can happen in less than two minutes. The actual amount of offline time seems to depend on the speed of the SD card.

* Can't override poweroff: -1 Star

This dashcam always powers off when external power disconnects, even if the internal battery if fully charged. I want my dashcam to continue recording after an accident.

* Can't run from a USB Port / Can't be used as a webcam: -1 Star

Connecting the USB port puts the camera into disk mode, which means that you must power it from the 5v connector. You cannot power this dashcam from an in-vehicle USB port. You cannot use this dashcam as a webcam.

* Can't invert or rotate the video: Annoyance

The firmware doesn't have an option for changing the recording orientation.

* Can't change the recording overlays: Annoyance

The only overlay option is a timestamp.

* Nearly ideal form factor: +1 Star

The size and shape of this dashcam is nearly perfect, and it uses a standard threaded mount, like on a regular camera tripod. It is much smaller than the stock photography makes it seem. The built-in folding LCD is probably the best feature.

* Adequate performance in a variety of lighting conditions: +1

Sun flaring is minor. Quality is okay at night with street lights and head lights.

* Additional Notes

This camera records to MJPEG AVI with 8 kHz PCM mono audio. Audio quality is poor; you can't hear conversations over white noise while driving, and it is unlikely that you would get all of a conversation while stopped with a traffic cop.

Wake-up on motion detection is pretty good.

In standard quality, this camera uses 2GB per hour.

Power draw is less than 5 watts at 5 volts, so you can run this camera off of a car battery for a long time.

This camera seems to be running an embedded BSD. A firmware update could get me to add one or two stars to this review.

I use this camera to protect myself from the lousy/agressive drivers in our area that seem to be growing by leaps and bounds. I have been using the camera for about a month now with an 8 GB card. Using the default video settings (mid range for capture) the 8 GB card stores about 3 hours of good quality video. The 120 degree field of view can capture the traffic lights even if you are at the stop line. Very Strong Sun Glare did not harm the camera although the objects were all darkened since they were all backlit. Night time capture is adequate based off of the headlights but don't expect daytime capture. (The IR cameras are described as not being able to go through the glass windshield so not much of an option.) The auto start/stop and auto rollover works as advertised. The products instructions are really poor. (I suspect that the unit is made in Russia since the only other instructions are in Russian, but so is the Mig-29!) If you want to change the defaults (e.g. I wanted a 15 min. capture window and setting the date.) You need to fumble with the buttons on the left first pressing MENU twice and then rec/snap to get the camera into the change mode and then use the buttons on the right to get the values to change. If you miss the right year you need to go past 2034 and then it rolls back to the start year. They need a definite rewrite.

I bought this camera to protect myself against reckless and aggressive drivers and liars in San Antonio, where most drivers don't have insurance and drunk wrong way drivers are # 1 on the list. This camera works great as described, very good video and sound recordings. Very recommended at this great price. The video was edited with Nero and lost some Quality, also if I cleaned my windschield before the view was much better, at the video you will see a vehicle turned to the right on red, and almost was hit by another driver. Just be prepared and protect yourself :-)

Want Motion Detect Car Dash Video Camera Recorder DVR Discount?

I bought this Car DVR recorder with fairly low expectations, both given the very low price and the very mixed reviews at Amazon. After a thorough test and break-in, I am positively surprised. I would recommend this as a low cost way to record evidence for unexpected cases where it is useful to replay the past accurately.

The DVR is produced by an unidentified Chinese company. It is surprisingly good for something that's made and designed in China. There is a flip-down LCD screen of decent quality that can be used for setup and instant playback. Opening up the small unit revealed a clean printed circuit board with just 2 chips: a Korean memory chip and a CPU chip of unknown origin. Control is through 6 buttons on either sides. Its not as convenient as a touch screen, but it does the job. The included suction mount was bulkier and less flexible than the one on the picture. This design does not allow mounting the using behind the rear-view mirror, so I need to look for some more compact suction mount.

The unit runs on it built-in battery power for at least an hour. This allows the camera to be used in the same was a a flip camera. Its small and light enough for use as a spy cam or on board of a model airplane. Plugged into the cigarette lighter adapter, the DV starts recording automatically when the car starts, and stops about 30 seconds after the ignition is cut. This is the desired behavior for a 'black box'.

The included manual is terrible, as expected. Special highlight is the final section "Small tip to save you big headache" which describes the many blessings of the reset button. The manual is not adapted for the different versions on the product, describing features that do not exist (such as HDMI output, frame rate selection, audio on/off) and omitting some useful options that are supported. Using some trial and error, however, its not too hard to find your way.

Video quality is indeed nowhere near HD standard. I could not see any difference in resolution between the 'XVGA' and 'VGA', so its best to stick with basic VGA which results in a 30% smaller files and a higher frame refresh rate. The camera sensor is likely the culprit. The lens is wide angle, producing a decent panoramic view with the usual distortion around the corners. Color reproduction is weak. Given the 'black box' application we don't care too much about that. Low light performance is passable. Though not HD, the quality is still better than the standard resolution camcorders of only a few years ago. Sound quality is poor, with lots of hissing, but conversations in the car are easy to understand.

The DVR performs decent image stabilization, which causes the movies to be quite smooth, even on bumpy roads. That is a very useful undocumented feature. Other undocumented features include digital zoom and a few image viewing options. The picture includes a date and time stamp for record keeping. The built-in clock turns out to be stable and accurate.

The DVR records .avi movies in segments of up to 15 minutes. There is only a short 1 second gap between the segments. The gap was a major complaint in most other reviews, but its pretty good on my unit. Apparently the new firmware improved this. Each 15-minute .avi file is about 720Mb which should yield about 11 hours of total recording on a 32G SD card before old files are overwritten. The LCD display shows the estimated remaining recording time, though the value is on the optimistic side.

Playback on the built-in LCD screen is decent. This feature could save your day, for instance instantly proving to a cop that you are not on the cell phone while driving. There is no fast forward, unfortunately, which makes it a pain to find the proper scene. Plugging in the unit in a computer mounts the SD card as a hard drive. The USB data transfer rate cannot keep up with the video bit rate in my experience. I am not sure whether this is caused by the SD card I am using or whether its due to the USB interface. Its not a big problem, as files can be copied to the PC for smooth playback. Playback on using video signal on a TV possible, but its just not very useful.

Overal, this DVR does the job for very little money. Compared to the other options (such as Itronics), it does nearly the same job and sports a built-in screen at a fraction of the price. It lacks HD and GPS, but neither of those are really essential for a car 'black box'.

Update May 2013 (1.5 year later): The dashcam is still working flawlessly, faithfully recording whenever my car drives. Same product now costs even less.

I have been using this for a few days now. First, it took them till the end of the 3rd day to ship it which caused total delivery time to be around 9-10 days. I received it and it is one of those Chinese drop ship items. It has a surprising range of features for the price, such as auto on/off and auto record triggered by power from the cigarette lighter adapter. When the sd card is full it will loop the record and overwrite the oldest files first. The built in battery allows it to properly close out the files when the power from the adapter is cut so, in an accident, losing power will not cause you to lose the current file; which may be the most important one. The unit I received did not have a hdmi port like the photo but the opening is still cut into the casing; found this after the inspection sticker fell off after the 2nd day of use. Playback is not possible on this device. I have used 2 sdhc cards which says on the box are supported; one Kingston class 6 4gb card and one transcend class 10 16gb card. Trying to initiate playback with either card results in "one moment" appearing on the screen followed by the word "one" disappearing leaving half of the "o" yet, nothing else happens(waited up to 5min). Occasionally it will indicate "fwd 1x" but still not play, pressing the up button sometimes causes it to display "bwd 1x" but nothing plays. In the whole playback attempt process it will randomly give 2-3mm wide vertical lines of distorted picture over the still image of the first video frame. Another thing to note is the video format of the files it creates are AVI. A 4gb card will give 2:20 hr:min of record in VGA format and 1:22 hr:min in D1 and SXGA. 16gb card increased the VGA to over 9 hours. When transferring the video files to your computer you better use a sd card adapter because the maximum transfer speed that this thing can handle is apparently 1 mb/s. The video seems clear enough to see what is going on in a wide angle area in front of you but is not sharp enough to read the license plate off of the car in front of you sitting at a traffic light. I have not used when fully dark but twilight recordings are good in detail except oncoming headlights cause moments where the camera is basically blinded. The video displays on the lcd so it is right side up when the unit is mounted with the lcd folding down when opened, with no option that allows you to change this if you choose to mount it in any other orientation; like mounting it to your dash with the lcd folding up when opened. Conclusion, it's much better than nothing at all in providing piece of mind, but you get what you pay for in the quality of the video and craftsmanship.

Bluetooth Supper Mini OBD 2 /Mini OBD II Compatible with Andriod Power 2-Blue

Bluetooth Supper Mini OBD 2 /Mini OBD II Compatible with Andriod Power 2-Blue
  • Andriod / Droid / Torque backwards compatible with ELM OBD2
  • Bluetooth Connection, No need Batteries, Cables, or Switches
  • View live engine data on your Android phone
  • Retrieve Fault Codes (DTCs) and clear Check Engine lights

I bought this adapter along with 2 other similar ones to try out the Torque app on my android galaxy S3 and this is the ONLY ONE of the three that worked with my truck, even though all of them claim to work with all protocols. So far I have used this on an 03 VW jetta, an 01 Subaru impreza, an 03 ford focus and an 05 Chevy Colorado and it works on all of them. I recommend this over all of the othersit was 5 bucks more but definitely worth it. It was also the only one that came in a legitimate package too!

I needed a mini version of an ELM327 OBD2 scan tool.... I am using Torque on both the Nexus 7 and the Samsung GS2.

On the Nexus 7, it works as expected.

On the Samsung GS2, I can get it to pair with the Bluetooth, but the Torque application will not connect to the device and subsequently connect to the car....

Edit:

I ended up resetting the Samsung GS2 back to factory; and the adapter worked after reset.

Overall the adapter works OK, a little slow sometimes, but it gets the basic job done.

I am very pleased with the adapter. It is ding what I bought it for, to relay system info from the OBDII and display error codes.

Setup:

02 wrx

Samsung Galaxy S 3

Torque

Plugged it in paired it on the phone and ready to go. Cleared one of my error codes with no problem (O2 sensor below temp for 6 min on highway or something like that).

The compact format fits in flush with the ODB port, nothing hanging down (and nothing to grab to pull it out). I am leaving it in place 24x7 to see if there is any negative impact to the battery.

Want Bluetooth Supper Mini OBD 2 /Mini OBD II Compatible with Andriod Power 2-Blue Discount?

Turns out, despite any possible linguistic confusion on my part, it does a decent job of transmitting ODBII info to my tablet, which is running the Torque app. If it lasts longer than the last one I had from a different manufacturer, I may come back and make it a 5 star rating. If not, it'll end up with one star.

After three attempts trying to pair this device with my HTC Cell Phone, I gave up. Could not make it work.

other adapters worked just fine with no problem. Returned to Amazon for credit.

Neewer Portable USB 2.0/1.1 Handheld Tape to PC Super USB Cassette-to-MP3 Converter Capture

Neewer Portable USB 2.0/1.1 Handheld Tape to PC Super USB Cassette-to-MP3 Converter Capture
  • Super Tape to PC USB Cassette-to-MP3 Converter Capture
  • Rediscover those old songs with USB Cassette Player by turning your tapes into MP3's to use on your computer, iPod or in the car!
  • Plug and play USB device, no drivers required
  • Recording Format: Wave, MP3
  • Power Supply: 2*AA Battery or USB-powered operation

This is a neat little cassette capture unit that is easy to use. I loaded the software that came with it but had trouble learning to use it. I decided to try the player with my laptop's Sound Recorder program and it works great.

I plugged the unit into my laptop with the USB cable included, loaded the cassette tape I wanted to convert, and clicked on Sound Recorder in Accessories. I then clicked on Start Recording (I had my Altec speakers plugged into the capture unit so I could hear when the tape ended). When the recording was finished, I clicked on Stop Recording, and the window to save the recorded file automatically appeared. I went to Music, typed in a title for the recording, and saved the file. I then went to iTunes, clicked on Add File, and my music files automatically appeared. I then clicked on the title of my new recording. iTunes converted the file to an AAC file. When the entire set of tapes had been copied, I set up a new playlist, added all the relevant files, and synced it to my iPod Touch. It all went quickly (except for the time it takes to record) and it worked like a charm.

Even though I had trouble with the software (my fault, not theirs), I am giving the unit five stars because it easily did all that I expected. The tapes I converted are very old (some created more than 30 years ago) recordings of family gatherings, conversations, and music (we have a bunch of musicians in our family), and they turned out clear and clean. I understand that audio book and music cassettes can also be converted and I might try that on some of my old homemade music tapes. For now, I am so happy to get my family memories on my PC, iTunes and on my iPod.

The unit itself is attractive, compact, as durable as one would expect for a small unit, and easy to use. Everything is included (ear buds, USB cable, software CD and the unit itself) and it's all nicely priced at around $19 plus shipping. I might spend some time learning to use the software that came with the unit, but the Sound Recorder program works just as well and as long as the tapes come out clear, I might not bother. In short, I am very pleased with the little capture unit and consider it an excellent purchase.

The usb connector was very finicky. I could usually get it to work by letting the usb hang in just the right position, but any small touch to the device would cause it to fail. Tried multiple usb cables, it was the actual USB connector that was at fault.

Also, recordings had a significant hum that I know was the cause of the device. With the recording software, I could remove most of the hum, but it added an extra 5 minute step after the recording to do this.

I do not recommend this product. You'd be better off just getting a regular tape player and use line-in to your computer... that's basically all you're doing with this anyway... the USB connection on this device basically just adds another sound card to your system with line in "built in".

BTW, the software that shipped with the product is freeware called Audacity. I recommend getting the latest version online for your recordings. Regardless of whether you buy this device or use the "line-in" method I mentioned above, Audacity seemed like pretty good software to do it with.

I returned it.

Great tool for people who still own cassette tapes. I used it to convert some of the old tapes that I found which teach things, now I can listen to them in the car on my mp3. works great.

Want Neewer Portable USB 2.0/1.1 Handheld Tape to PC Super USB Cassette-to-MP3 Converter Capture Discount?

I recently ran across a forgotten box of about 50 old audio cassette tapes containing vintage radio shows, but since I went (in my infinite wisdom) completely 'digital' years ago, I now had no way to play them (Insert D'oh! here). How nice it would be to be able to transfer all my old audio cassettes of mine to MP3, eh? Luckily, I found this 'USB Cassette Capture' device (Model #TT-CM001). For about $20 you can't go wrong. At first glance it's about the size of the old Sony 'Walkman' (yep, I'm that old). It came with an installation disk that contains an instruction manual (PDF), and an older version of the free 'Audacity' recording software. I recommend going online and downloading the newest version of Audacity (still free), it's 'Plug-Ins' (just for fun), and the 'LAME MP3 Encoder' (even though it has a silly name, it's very important, you will need it!). Installing them is the same as following the instructions on the installation CD (that PDF I mentioned) included with the 'USB Cassette Capture' device (Model #TT-CM001). If this seems too difficult, get one of your computer 'savy' brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, or grandchildren to do this for you. I have Windows 7 and it works great. The 'Audacity' recording software is backwards compatible to Windows XP, and other variations of it include a MAC version too. Now as for the other reviewers who complained about the sound being slow, garbled, etc., it's not the device (at least in my case), but it may be the condition of the cassette tape. So why not 'Fast Forward' and 'Rewind' the cassette tape a few times to loosen it up, especially if it's been sitting in a box for a few years like mine were. I hope this review was helpful.

It took a little trial and error to get up and running, but is well worth it. Good item for the price. Very happy with it overall.

Motorola DTR550 Portable Digital Radio

Motorola DTR550 Portable Digital Radio
  • Allows users to access up to 20 public and 10 private groups
  • Allows other DTR radios on same group ID and channel to communicate
  • Transmits
  • Meets military 810 C, D, E, and F specifications for shock, vibration, water, dust and temperature extremes.
  • Stores recent call list up to last 10 transmissions.

I bought four of these radios after trying many others including the similar TriSquare brand. I faced many problems with the other radios including range, battery life, privacy, interfearence, voice quality and build quality. The only problems I've had with the DTR's is price and a slight delay from transmission to receive. I assume this delay is due to the digital encoding and decoding the unit has to do.

The range The range is much more than I need, the extended antennas improve it's capabilities even more. While running an event in a radio dense area of Walt Disney World I was able to effortlessly use them from the main level of the Dolphin hotel to the front gate of the theme park over 1.5 miles away, I was using the extended antenna.

The battery life With standard two-way radios I had 4 to 5 hours of heavy use before I had to change. With these I'm easily able to reach 7 and even passed 9 with the extended battery.

Privacy I'm finishing a computer science degree at UW Madison so the first thing I tried doing was to intercept the signal and see how easily I could listen in, something I can do effortlessly with standard radios. These radios not only use frequency hopping (FHSS) but have a digital encoded signal which makes it very hard to decode in real time. I was able to listen into the Trisquares without much effort because while they use FHSS, they don't digitally encode the signal. Please note this is not encryption and anything is always possible.

Interfearence I haven't experienced any interference with these radios, most likely because they operate on a different frequency than most other radios.

Voice quality Its many steps above a standard radio because it's digital but not quite the quality of a phone call. The great thing is NO STATIC since its digital.

Build Quality military spec....enough said.

Other great features I love that I am notified if the radio I'm try to reach is out of range or turned off. Also the ability to call a single radio works nicely when I need a private conversation. Takes 30 minutes for a full charge. Has an attachable keyboard for easy program. Holder that doesn't feel like a toy. Docking station for desk.

Our team is fascinated by the reach and clarity of the transmission for these radios. The reach is more than the rated distance and floors by motorola. In open field with rolling hills we have achieved almost a 2 mile reach, with clear communication.

The merchandise received was very good quaity, however the merchandise received was not exactly what I ordered. I ordered 2 of the same item and they were not identical in terms of features. One had the vibration mode and a long antenna and the other had a short antenna with no vibration mode.

This descriptive line is misleading and down right deceiving. I purchased it expecting to get a "Two Pack" of "3000 watt" power inverters. When it came in the mail it was a two pack of 1500 watt power inverters. I'm completely frustrated and upset. I use Amazon all the time, and there has only been one instance (when I did not receive a package) that I have been this frustrated. Could you please change the description to let people know what this REALLY is. Thank you.

the Inverter is just the right size for my businessIt is perfect for running my 4 1/2" grinder and then my 3/8" corded drill. It is perfectly capable running my interior lighting in my vans as well as a small heater for in the winter time along with my key cutting machines all at the same time with no problems. I have also run a small 110v wire feed welder with these units and had great results. this product has proven to me that it is good for the contractor service world for running the tools of the trade. the product has another great featureit will shut down before it drains the battery or battery's in you service vehicle completely so you will be able to start it up and recharge the battery or be able to leave the job site. there is a remote on off switch available for these units and i would recommend them as well for the simple reason of placement of this unit, if you are like me i don't like to mount things in "easy to remove" places and the switch has a great deal of wire on it be able to mount it in a comfortable location for turning the unit on and off and not giving away the location of the mounted inverter.

Husky Liners Custom Fit Front and Second Seat Floor Liner Set for Select Ford Fusion Models (Black)

Husky Liners Custom Fit Front and Second Seat Floor Liner Set for Select Ford Fusion ModelsWe've both Husky Liner Custom Fit floor liners and WeatherTech floor liners. The WeatherTech are quite good, but the Husky liners are great. And their lifetime warranty versus the WeatherTech 3 year warranty makes the Husky product great with a capital G. All that and the Husky Weatherbeater Liners cost less too. There's really not much else needs be said to my way of thinking.

I had previously purchased a set of Husky liners for my 2006 F150 SuperCrew and was very pleased with them. These Fusion liners are every bit as good as the F150 liners and the style suits the Fusion's interior.

This product has been great so far. So far it has worked just the way it was advertised. the speaker and the microphone both work real good with no problems. Easy to install, it took me about 1 hour to install and very easy to program.

Want Cartel CT-1000 Bluetooth Hands Free Installed Car Phone With Privacy Handset Discount?

What a neat product. I can't stand hands-free headsets and my car doesn't have integrated bluetooth in the radio, so my options were either to replace my existing radio (which I love) with a new one with built-in Bluetooth or tough it out with a tacky headset. Then I found this thing and it's been great.

It's not for everyone, but I love the CT-1000 and it gets a lot of interesting responses when people ride in my car. I have mine wired into my Alpine stereo so it mutes the radio and rings through the car stereo speakers. It works flawlessly and even has an auxiliary plug to use a standard headset.

Having the handset with the cord makes a huge difference in making calls. It's more comfortable than holding a modern smart phone and doesn't get warm like my phone does.

The speakerphone has great sound quality and it's as easy to use as the old-school car phones of yesteryear. Unfortunately, it's not a 3-watt analog phone so the reception is only as good as your handheld phone.

It's pricey, but well worth it. I installed it myself using wire-taps available at any auto parts store and it took about an hour. I removed my radio and its harness and did the wire tapping inside my kitchen and then just went out to the car and plugged it in. Easy as can be if you have a wiring chart for your car's radio (you bet I do!)

Scosche motorMOUTH Plug and Play Bluetooth Handsfree and Streaming Audio Car Kit

Scosche motorMOUTH Plug and Play Bluetooth Handsfree and Streaming Audio Car KitI have a Droid X and I was getting tired of plugging my audio jack cable into the phone and the receiver on a daily basis. I bought this so I can just plug it into my head unit, then stream audio over the bluetooth connection. This part works well and haven't had any issues with it.

The microphone thing, eh, not so good. When talking on it, I hear that people tell me that it sounds like I'm going through a wind tunnel. Maybe it's where the microphone is positioned, or maybe it's just the product. I thought the noise cancelling part of this device (dsp?) would fix the wind noises. Guess not.

The other thing is that it is true that you have to charge this before you use it. I have it wired into my car so that it's constantly charging. I always have it plugged in, so I never have to worry about it. Before being able to use it, I have to turn it on by hitting the button. My complaint here is that it would be nice to have it automatically turn on when it receives power. Then, have it automatically turn off when the power source is removed.

I originally bought it to stream audio to the head unit over bluetooth. Does it do it? Yes, and it does it well. The other things, I'm not so sure about, but it's not a huge issue for me.

I bought this to replace the usual in-car cable which I was using to pipe podcats, audiobooks and music from my Iphone to the dash stereo through the latter's AUX input. I didn't really care about the calls aspect, since I never make or answer calls while I'm driving ("Dude, I'm busy *driving*, OK? If it's that important, leave a frakkin' message!")

This unit *should* work for my purpose: It pairs easily, stays paired, and streams consistently, with no fuzz or breakups. The audio *quality* is comparable to the cable. Only problem: I have to crank up the in-dash unit's volume setting to the max just to hear the stream at a normal volume! I don't have anything like this problem with the cable. Using the cable, I can put the volume at 25 and listen comfortably; with the motorMouth, I have to pin it at 50 (that's the top end on my dash unit) to hear it at the same general level as the cable. And it's not like I'm testing the Bluetooth range; the Iphone is in a (Schosche!) plastic dash mount not 4 inches above the AUX input jack. Unless there's some kind of wild impedance mismatch between the mMouth and my AUX jack, I have no idea why the audio signal coming from the mMouth is attenuated so badly I have to jack up the volume so far. This is a total deal killer for me, since I don't dare use it; if I forget to crank it back down to a regular level before switching to the dash unit's FM tuner or a CD, I practically get blasted out of the car! $52.99 wasted; I'm back on the cable.

This was a gift I received, and i was stoked abut hooking it up, since my primary use for it would to streaming my tunes from my cell phone. Hook up was simple for me, then came the testing of the motormouth II. Pairing it with my cell phone was seamless, no issues, once paired it remained paired. Streaming music pretty simple, worked lovely. Using the motormouth II to make and received phone calls was pretty good, not bad. Haven't got any complaints about noise while driving and talking.

Now for the cons, the battery charge doesn't seem to last very long at all, on light use, the USB style charger cable, is way to short, making placement options limited. The cable itself seems a bit cheap for a device price @ $70+.

All in all, this handy little device can solved some of your Bluetooth, music woes. On a chart from 1 5, five being the highest I would give this device a 4 star rating. Why?

1. Design/size could be better

2. Materials could be better for the price

3. Battery life could be much better

I was initially happy with my Motormouth II, but I soon found it was fragile. Simply plugging it in caused the plastic case to split apart. A little superglue fixed it, but weeks later, it ceased taking a charge through the supplied cable. A quick call to Scosche later, they sent a replacement cable free of charge. But THEN, the Motormouth would randomly drop the Bluetooth connection while in use. When you have to take your hands off the wheel and your eyes off the road to re-establish the connection with your phone, it kinda defeats the purpose of Bluetooth, doesn't it? To complicate things, the little red and blue lights that are supposed to tell you what it's up to are invisible in daylight, making it that much more frustrating to try to diagnose why it wasn't working half the time. Was the battery dead, or did it just have a random failure?

On the plus side, when it worked, it worked well, with good call sound quality and seamless switching from streaming audio to phone calls. However, some basic weaknesses with this setup are that you need to turn it on when you get in the car and turn it off when you get out (or the battery will die more quickly). Also, it will work only when your stereo is in the AUX input mode. If you want to listen to FM radio and automatically receive a Bluetooth call, no dice. In other words, if you're looking for the hands-off and forget-about-it convenience of a factory-installed Bluetooth system, you'll have to spend a bit more for a system that interfaces directly with your car's stereo and not just with the input jack.

It depends on what your intended use for this product is. I have a 2008 Chevy Avalanche LTZ with an AUX input jack. So this device is perfect as it is small, lightweight and out of sight, all while streaming my audio from my phone to my Bose sound system. Audio quality is awesome. I wasn't expecting much in terms of quality, but was pleasently surprised.

If you want this for a bluetooth calling adapter to patch phone calls into your stereo, you will be greatly disappointed. I can hear my callers perfectly, but have not received great feedback from those I have called. I get comments like "huh? What? Say that again? I can hear you, but can't make out what you are saying? Are you in a tunnel? etc etc. I have tried multiple calls, while driving, parked, parked with engine off.... Call quality is horrible!!

Pros: Bluetooth audio streaming, lightweight, easy to connect.

Cons: Call quality, battery life

TaoTronics® TT-BA01 Wireless Portable Bluetooth Stereo Music Transmitter (Not A Bluetooth Receiver

TaoTronics® TT-BA01 Wireless Portable Bluetooth Stereo Music Transmitter for 3.5mm Audio DevicesI was hesitant to buy this after reading a few of the negative reviews that mentioned a major audio delay. Still, it was the cheapest, decently reviewed solution for my needs. After having the product for about 2 weeks, I can say I'm very happy that I bought it. I use this, in conjunction with the Samsung Modus 3500 HM3500 Premium Noise Cancelling Dual Mono Stereo Bluetooth Headset with 2 Adapters to play games and watch TV without waking up my kids. That includes playing games like Rock Band and Dance Central. With regular games, Dance Central, and TV, I haven't noticed any delay. The delay is noticeable with Rock Band, but it isn't anything that the game can't compensate for. According to the auto calibration, the delay varies between +160 and +200 ms.

In addition to the negligible delay, the battery life is fantastic. It lasts through at least two charges of the headphones (about 8 hours total), and it can still operate while charging. I haven't noticed any degradation in sound quality, either. This is everything I needed it to be, and at a reasonable cost.

I haven't had the transmitter for long, but here is what I have noted so far:

1. Works great with the Kindle in Text to Speech mode.

2. Works great with Kindle Fire playing a show on Hulu+.

3. No lag with the Kindle Fire while watching shows on Hulu+ (I imagine buffering and connections could change this, but works great for me).

4. Works while plugged in and charging (saw in another review that they read it didn't so I tested it).

Only problem I have is half my household is threatening to swipe mine if I don't get them one of these.

I have a zune and unfortunatly it does not have Bluetooth. I found this recommended as a solution and thought it was worth a try. It works great! I wish that my car radio was set up for mp3 players other than Apple and my radio controls would work too. Maybe some day people will realize that not everyone likes Apple and make software compatible to other players. Love the adapter.

TaoTronics and SunValleyTek are all Gentlemen and Scholars for this excellent product and at a good price!

I just tested these transmitters with all 3 of my TV's and with both my Creative D100 and D200 speakers and whatever video/audio delay there is its ever so slight its not even worth mentioning. I'm very impressed with how these work. I have an Altec-Lansing/Plantronics dongle and the performance is the same as with the TaoTronics. The only way I could tell there was any kind of a very slight audio delay was to play the audio from the TV itself at the same time and then you could see the audio was dead on with the TV speakers and just a slight delay from the Bluetooth. Had I not done that it was difficult to tell if there really was any delay. That's how close it is. I'm very pleased with this, especially for the cost of 20 bones. It paired perfectly with my Creative D100 and D200 Bluetooth speakers while they were plugged into my TV's and my Chinese iPod Nano clone. The pairing button and blue/red lights are awesome. The quality of the audio is just fine. My wishlist? Instead of the skinny wire, have the stereo plug attached directly to the unit itself and flip out. Oh yeah!

UPDATE: I decided to make comparison with these and my Plantronics/Altec Lansing Bluetooth dongle that came with my Plantronics BackBeat 903 stereo headset. Ever since I got this Plantronics dongle I've wanted to get another one but they don't sell them separately and if you can find them ever they're absurdly priced. Glad I never got another because these TaoTronics blow them away! The sound through my BackBeat headset is just as good but the volume now goes up about another 30% compared to the Plantronics/Altec Lansing Bluetooth dongle! The volume is also louder on my Creative D100 and D200! These Tao's rock big time!!! Oh yeeeeah!

I purchased this along with LG Tone (HBS-700) Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Headset Retail Packaging Black/Orange to use while at work. Luckily they both have about the same run time of about 8 hours. I plug these into the 3.5mm jack on my speakers and I'm able to walk around my office (up to 30 feet) without any interference at all. I've never heard of this brand and took a chance but it was worth it. Generally i fully discharge the battery and it fully recharges in about 1.5 hours. I'd highly recommend this product.

AlphaTherm AT-38OD Windshield Washer Fluid Heater

AlphaTherm AT-38OD Windshield Washer Fluid HeaterI bought this unit for my Subaru WRX to try and all I can tell you is a good little device. I totally stopped scraping my windshield from ice and we have a lot of snow and ice here in Michigan. I think hot washer fluid should be standard in all cars or at least an option for northern states. The only thing you need to get used to is waiting 10 to 15 seconds between sprays and not to over spray. But in my case, I installed the unit on the fire wall so I can hear the boiling noise while the unit heating the fluid. It worked out very well for me. I know exactly when to push the button. Installation was a little tough because my washer hose ware on the opposite side of the car. I needed to add extra hose between reservoir and the unit. AlphaTherm AT-38OD Windshield Washer Fluid Heater

I hate waiting to have my truck warm up in the morning to defrost the windshield. After installing this product I warm it up for a minute or two spray the windshield to clear the frost/ice and I'm on my way. Pretty simple to install and includes everything you need. Build quality seems to be top notch and up to OEM standards.

Buy AlphaTherm AT-38OD Windshield Washer Fluid Heater Now

I've purchased this washer heater since I almost hit a parked car driving away from my house before having my windows fully defrosted. That and my nozzles where frozen couple of times in the deep freeze. Installation was easy enough, took about half hour. Didn't even need instructions as I have watched the installation video on manufacturer's website along with performance videos. Didn't need any additional parts, only one spot to install on my 2009 2.3L Ranger. Now my washer heats up in about a minute, comes out warm enough to melt the frozen windshield within three to four cycles of three second washes with 20-second wait time, never had frozen nozzle issue since the install. It's really cool to see steam coming out with the washer fluid. It draws about 52 amps upon starting the engine, but it turns off when the engine is off. Windshield wipers work so much better with the warm liquid, keeps my wipers free of snow and ice. Per the manufacturer's website, great for winter and even better for removing bugs and grime in the summer.

I would highly recommend the AlphaTherm Windshield Washer Fluid Heater, must have for the mid-west location. No more frozen nozzles and crystal clear windshield and no more iced up wiper blades.

I got this for my wife's Trailblazer (V8) as she was having trouble with her washer nozzles freezing up. The real solution to that is keeping the washer fluid topped off with an antifreeze type fluid (required for this heater) so the oil change place doesn't top it off with the cheap stuff.

The heater needs to be mounted fairly close to vertical (see product photo for orientation) but I was able to find a spot on the firewall on the passenger side of the vehicle where it would just fit. At first I was confused by two washer hoses coming from the depths of the engine compartment, causing me to wonder if there was a Y buried down there with one hose for each side of the windshield. It wasn't until I removed the air filter housing and washer tank and saw two washer pumps that it hit me one was for the rear wiper (duh). Taking that stuff out and putting it back took longer than installing the heater.

The wires were the perfect length to reach a solid ground and the auxiliary terminal on the engine compartment fuse block. I had about 6 inches of hose left over. This was an easy install on this vehicle, but I suggest you examine yours before you purchase to insure you have a spot to put it or can fabricate a mounting plate, although the one supplied is somewhat adaptable.

Performance is exactly as described. I was concerned that in below freezing weather that residual fluid on the windshield would freeze into enough of haze to impact visibility, but in single digit temperatures and at highway speeds, this did not happen. She tried using it to initially clear the windshield, but it did not work very well for that because it refroze too quickly. Overall, we are very happy with its performance.

The thing works good. I had problems at first, but worked them out. Very easy to install. I installed it on an old Ford Escort. I had to be creative and make a bracket, but if your handy, its easy.

Ultralast PDA-192LI TomTom GPS Replacement Battery

Ultralast PDA-192LI TomTom GPS Replacement BatteryIt appears that this battery is not compatible with Tom Tom One 3rd Generation. When installed, the unit would charge okay, but if you attempt to connect to a computer so that you can use Tom Tom Home the unit would reboot. It would then NOT ask to be connected to a computer again but would instead just sit there and charge a battery. Given that batteries can't be returned this is $ down the drain. Thanks Ultralast.

The battery was described as a "12mah" but I was sent an "11 mah" battery. I don't how much difference there is in them, but if you advertise one thing and I choose to buy it, then that is what you should send. I think I used my twenty words!!!

Replacement Battery for Tom Tom. Good replacement except the terminal from the old battery needs to be spliced to the new battery to connect it to the tom tom. Other than a minor splice its works great, restore long term standby power to the unit.
