i am an installer for over 13 years and never have i came across somebody that does not warranty their NEW products. i purchased this and installed it on one of my customers vehicles and it did not work. i just asked to have it exchanged for a new one or refunded my money but was denied because they stated it was over my 15 warranty peroid. i didnt know i was suppose to buy and install right away to figure it out if it worked. i assumed it worked cause i purchased it new and now im stuck with a defective device. seller was no help at all sold by sigmaenterprises.

This is a great price for this unit. I've had mine installed for about a month or two now and it continues to work flawlessly. I would recommend getting this professionally installed unless you have experience with remote starts and car alarms. It took me a little over 6 hours to install and set up. It has a lot of menu options and they are pretty easy to set unlike some other systems I've installed. Overall this is a good system for the price and I would recommend it to anybody looking for 2-way starter / alarm.

WirthCo 20128 Knife Switch for Side Terminal Battery

WirthCo 20128 Knife Switch for Side Terminal BatteryThis gadget is easy to install and operate. Before I found it online, I had to use a wrench to connect and disconnect the battery cable to keep the battery from running down between starts. (I'm using this on an old truck that I don't drive much.) It's nice to have a simple solution that works.

I installed this item in my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon using no additional parts.

Now I can switch it off when I go on a long holiday without avoiding a battery discharge.

The switch is well built. It is very simple and low tech, which is what I wanted.

After a 3 week trip I returned to find my car battery dead at the airport. I took it to the dealer the next day only to learn that new cars have many things that draw current all the time such as On-Star and security systems. He said that the car will crank after 2 weeks but not after 3 weeks. That information would have been good to know 3 weeks ago. I installed the disconnect switch in 10 minutes and it worked as described. Good quality. Problem solved.

our mechanic could not trace down the cause of our battery going dead periodically.

so we disconnect the battery with this switch and saved the headaches of not knowing if the car would start. This item does exactly what it was intended for.

It totally disconnects the car from the battery....if you can live with out your clock...or reset every time this item is great! Saved us from buying a new car.

This is exactly what I needed for my older truck that will sit for several weeks/months at a time without being driven. Installed in a matter of a couple of minutes. The time saved from disconnecting and reconnecting battery cables is priceless.

Stanley USB4 4 in 1 Back Up Power Supply and Charger

Stanley USB4 4 in 1 Back Up Power Supply and ChargerI bought this on an Amazon Lightning Deal so I got a slight discount on the price you probably see now. I also own the XtremeMac InCharge Portable rechargeable battery pack with built-in wall charger for iPhone, iPad & iPod IPU-ICP-11 which I got a long time ago at a much cheaper price. This Stanley device is much worse than the XtremeMac charger.

This charger doesn't last long. It won't even last long enough to fully charge my iPhone 4S. It also makes a high pitch sound while plugged in to the wall.

The benefits to it are that the electrical plugs fold into the back of the product for slimmer storage. It also includes a built in light which is not powerful at all. It is small in size which is nice too.

Overall, I would not recommend this product. I'd suggest spending a little more to get one with a longer battery life.

This little charger has folding prongs and is perfect for travel. The USB ports do not supply enough current to charge an iPad, unfortunately, but it will charge an iPhone 4 and a bluetooth headset simultaneously without problems.

It also contains a battery that charges when plugged into a 110/240AC outlet (it is world-compatible) or into a USB port via the special cable provided. Here I think Stanley should have instead fitted the device with a standard microUSB port; if you lose the cable, it won't be easy to replace. Then again, most people will charge the battery through the mains, so it's not a major issue.

The top of the device features two flat buttons, one to turn on the power or check the battery levels (a 5-bar green LED display indicates the charge), and the other turns on a bright white LED located between the two USB ports.

Unfortunately, the battery capacity could be better; in my informal tests, it was only able to refill my iPhone 4 by about 70 to 75%. Still, that's usually all you need to get you out of a pickle, but twice that capacity would make it a really great device.

PROS

----

small size

folding prongs

charges two devices at once

built-in battery

built-in flashlight

CONS

-----

charging through USB requires non-standard cable (supplied)

battery capacity is not that great

makes a light buzzing sound when plugged in

Should you buy this? I have to say that despite owning a large array of USB battery/charger devices, I still toss this one in my travel bag because it's so convenient and light. Perfect to give your phone a boost during a long plane flight, and once you get to your hotel, you can use it as a charger -and the flashlight comes in handy.

If your emphasis is on convenience vs. capacity, this is a great buy. If you need the largest possible capacity, you're better off with a USB battery that charges with an external charger.

Ocassionally we forget to charge our phone and keep this in the car. It is great to have when you realize you have a call to make and you are out of power.

Want Stanley USB4 4 in 1 Back Up Power Supply and Charger Discount?

As of 12/28/12, the capacity of this backup battery is not listed in the description, so I wanted to be sure that it was available to potential buyers. On the outside of the carton, it lists a capacity of 1000 mAh not enough to fully charge most smartphones. This is a low capacity relative to the size and price of the device. The variety of charging options is a plus, and it's light, but unless you only intend to charge low capacity batteries, it's nowhere near enough to offset the negatives.

Motorola MT350R Giant MT350R FRS Weatherproof Two-Way - 35 Mile Radio Pack - Orange

Motorola MT350R Giant MT350R FRS Weatherproof Two-Way - 35 Mile Radio Pack - Orange
  • With an IP-54 rating, the MT series flaunts its weatherproof ID design making it ideal for protection not only from dust, but from wet weather conditions.
  • The NOAA channels provide emergency alerts including tornadoes, winter storms, severe thunderstorms, flash floods, emergency evacuations and Amber Alerts.
  • Use the provided mini-USB charger for portable convenience, great for charging at home or to take along to recharge in a hotel.
  • The VibraCall silent vibrating ringer is especially useful for locations where ringing can be intrusive.
  • MT350R includes: 2 radios, 2 NiMH rechargeable battery packs, 2 belt clips, 1 Y cable wall adapter with 2 mini-USB connectors, 1 Emergency Preparedness checklist sheet, 1 user guide, 1 accessories sheet.

**REVIEW UPDATED 12/21/2012...see end of review for updated info.**

I've been around the block with consumer-grade two-way radios that I use for backpacking, camping and general Boy Scout activities. I've tried Uniden, Midland and Motorola, but always come back to Motorola. Midlands broke and Unidens don't have great range and can't produce clear enough audio for me.

I learned after hobbling along with my last non-Moto set (Uniden G-227) that Motorola really is the way to go for clarity, range and features. Audio clarity is important to me because there's nothing more maddening than muddy audio and having to ask the person on the other end to keep repeating until you can understand what they've said.

PROS:

* Robust design.

* Bright color makes it harder to lose.

* Waterproof from basic elements. Living in Florida, this is important.

* Great audio clarity.

* Decent range (certainly not 35 miles, but a more realistic one-mile+ range in forested and flat terrain).

* Richly featured for a consumer radio.

* PTT power adjustable buttons (one H, one L) means no more fidgeting with menu settings when you need higher power transmissions.

* Comes with a rechargeable battery pack for each radio.

* Emergency LED light is very handy.

* NOAA weather receiver.

* USB chargeable.

CONS:

* Currently lacks charging station (allegedly to be released soon, according to Motorola).

* Wish it had a carrying case instead of the plastic belt clip.

* Wish it had more range in typical conditions, but this is not a pro radio set.

I'm a realist when it comes to consumer two-way radios. I don't expect an actual 35-mile range and don't actually need 35 miles. That's what cell phones are for, but of course, if you are in a very remote area, a cell signal may not be available.

I was impressed with the menu of features on this radio and really needed to move up to a radio with NOAA weather capabilities. When you are one of the adults responsible for as many as 75 boys on an outing, you really need to be on alert for their safety. I like the overall quality of the radio and have never been disappointed with a Moto two-way. I still have my Talkabout 250, which has been in use for close to 10 trouble-free years now. It's still crystal-clear and transmits well for a compact FRS radio, which was another reason why I came back to and will remain with Motorola.

This radio set deserves five stars for its performance and deep feature list, but more importantly, for me, being able to hear transmissions clearly is a key element. I'm happy with this radio for what it is: an effective communications tool.

** 12/21/2012 UPDATE **

Not changing the five stars rating, especially after taking the radios camping in dense woodlands this past weekend. My daughter went hiking with her girlfriend and was well beyond a mile away when she called me on the radio. Her voice was loud and crystal clear. She also found the built-in LED light very helpful when she couldn't find her own flashlight. Honestly, I didn't think much about the radio's emergency light, but it came in handy!

As advertised they are truly waterproof. A teenager dropped one overboard the first week I owned these units. IT FLOATS! (thank you Lord)

Communication is crisp and clear. VOX operation works very well.

To all who are new to quality two way communication be aware.....

YOU NEED A LICENSE TO OPERATE THESE UNITS ON HIGH POWER CHANNELS!

Radio licensing is a painless function that can be done online.

If you need quality communication these are the radios.

I've been a happy Motorola FRS radio customer for years. I purchased my FRS radios before consumer GMRS radios were even available in mass retail. My 'old' FRS radios still work, but our family has expanded and I wanted to add a couple more radios to our cache of outdoor adventure gear.

I'm happy with the MT350R radios. We use when skiing, so I'm happy they're weather-proofed. We also use the lanyard loop and wear under our jackets, so I'm happy weather-proof means (to me) sweat-proof under a coat. I like the rechargeable batteries, with the option of using alkaline batteries. These offer options for turning on lots of beeps and noises, and I shut all of that off because I just don't find it to be that useful. I also tend to stay on the lower-power FRS channels and avoid the higher-power GMRS channels, not only for battery savings, but because 35-miles just isn't very realistic. Whether using lowor high-power channels, line-of-site communication with the other radios in our party is all you get. If you can see where the other people are -waiting at the bottom of the slope, at the top of the next ridgeline, your belayer on a climb, etc. -then these will work well. But, they can't transmit through mountains.

These do exactly what I need, and I have no regrets about this purchase. The color shown in the photo appears more orange, which is what I wanted. The actual product color looks like school-bus yellow.

Want Motorola MT350R Giant MT350R FRS Weatherproof Two-Way - 35 Mile Radio Pack - Orange Discount?

I am taking two star because I ordered these specifically for the orange color and received yellow. the sound quality is crystal clear, the NOAA weather feature works great and has 12 weather channels to select from for best quality. You can customize the send receive chirps, and they are splash proof but i wouldn't submerge them. The other star i am taking is the belt clip is very soft and basically will just stretch open if pulled gently. One other nice option are the two PTT buttons, one is low power for relatively close range, maximum battery life and will operate at 0.5 watt, the top button is Hi power ( that's why its on top) and operates at 1.5 Watt for greater distances or crowded areas.

I am pleased with these radios in most respects. They have good clear sound, static free on the channel I chose. They work well in the application for which I purchased them. My only criticism is that the "35 miles" is a joke. I couldn't even get a signal at two miles in a semi-urban area. For my purposes I would hardly ever need to reach that far, so I am satisfied. I thought the price was very reasonable.

Jump N Carry JNC950 2000 Peak Amp 12 Volt Jump Starter

Jump N Carry JNC950 2000 Peak Amp 12 Volt Jump StarterOrdered this item after seeing several reviews on it and others in its line. I couldn't have been more pleased with it. When it arrived it had enough of a charge to jump start my F350 diesel, which had died 2 days earlier. Plugged it up that night and my son calls the next day, his car died in the college parking lot.

I can honestly say that neither jump start seemed to put any drain on the Jump N Carry 950. It exceeded my expectations. I have had other jump start systems and many times even when fulled charged, you see and hear the drain a single jump has on them, not this one. It is well worth the money and shipping was fast.

Audiovox SIR-PNP3 Sirius Satellite Radio Receiver

Audiovox SIR-PNP3 Sirius Satellite Radio ReceiverI love the SIR-PNP3 so much that I immediately bought a second one. And then a third one, two months later! The PNP3 is the 3rd generation of this Audiovox Sirius "shuttle" receiver, and SIRIUS and Audiovox have hit a grand slam home run with the PNP3. The display on the PNP3 is the brightest and clearest of any SIRIUS (or XM receiver) that I've seen. I haven't listened to AM or FM at all since I started my SIRIUS subscription. I use the Audiovox SIR-PNP3 both in the car and the home. The wireless FM transmitter is of high quality and mighty: You can set up the PNP3 in one room, and simultaneously listen to SIRIUS through any and all of your FM radio receivers located in nearby rooms, (at broadcast distances of upwards of 100 feet in my experience.) And, if you are someone who doesn't yet know much about satellite radio: SIRIUS is better than XM: Absolutely True!

If you don't own a Sirius radio yet may I suggest you log on to your favorite electronic store site now and buy one. I got my PNP3 today, hooked it up in my Eclipse in about 15 mins, ran the antenna wire in less than that, logged onto the Sirius site to activate and have been listening to pretty much anything I want ever since.

(For those with an Eclipse here is a tip for install, I had a tough time finding a location for the radio and finally realized I could drill two small mounting holes right into the ashtray and bolted it right to the lid of the tray. Once it was bolted on and the angle was adjusted, I placed the ashtray back into the holder and voila! a nice mounting location and no damage to any expensive parts so when I sell the car all I have to do is replace the cheap ashtray.

Wiring the antenna was a sinch-rear roof mounted it, ran the wire into the car through the hatchback and then easily tucked it into the headliner and ran it along the rubber molding, inside the fuse box to get it under the dash and then ran it along the underside of the existing dash wiring and into the center console. )

Anyhow, the sound is superior to the regular FM radio even when using the modulator. This little unit really sounds great. Not the Audiovox of my younger years by any means. This is a very good quality product. Channel choices are nice and the display options are great-you can view channel choices by channel name or you can view the artist and/or song that is playing on each channel so you can decide what you want to listen to at that moment.

The unit has very user-friendly and logical functions. It's compact size forces some buttons to be a bit small, but not to the point of being unusable by any means.

I took a drive tonight to test it out and the stations were rock solid-I live in a rural area. Reception around my town and in the country didn't fade once. I can't wait to hear Howard on Sirius along with the many other talk shows, comedy shows, special news shows and, of course, music. This is amazing technology at an amazingly low price. GET ONE NOW!!!!

Buy Audiovox SIR-PNP3 Sirius Satellite Radio Receiver Now

A definate step up from the PNP2. The PNP3 has a 2.5 G chip that does not burn as hot as the PNP2 (you'll notice the difference after the radio is on for several hours), the screen is a bit larger (great for viewing across the room), , 2 different fonts you can use, it's a LOT sleeker than the PNP2. I think the most beneficial change is that the remote allows you to work the volume, where they the previous you had keep getting up to change it. Plus you can dim the brightness of the screen or set it for auto dim.

Sports fans will like this new feature. It has a "sports zone" (not this is not listed on the box or directions, BUT it's in EVERY PNP3) which allows you to view each and every NFL, NHL, NBA or NCAA game playing along with the current score, and current time in the game. ALL of this without even switching the currnet channel you're on! To view this, say suppose you're listening to something but are wondering what channelor the score a NBA or NFL (I'll use those two as an example) is on. You go to category and just scroll (using remote or right on the receiver) through the categories and right at the end after traffic (or before pop as you can scroll backwords) Sirius AUTOMATICALLY lumps the current games being played into the league (example all the NFL games on one screen, NBA on another, NCAA on another, and so on). Then you highlight the game you want info on and it'll show you. All of this without changing the current channel on or missing a beat of the music! And if you like the game, you just hit the select button and you go to that game on Sirius! So no more switching through channels to see what channel that game is on or wondering the score. Just go to the Sirius game zone and you'll find out that information right away!

And don't forget about Howard Stern coming Jan, 1, 2006 excusive to Sirius! Other talk programs include (but are not limited to) Jay Thomas, G. Gordon Liddy, Rusty Humphries, MAXIM Talk Channel, Out Q (Gay Talk channel), Air America, Tony Snow, Laura Ingram, and MANY more!!!

You want music? Sirius has EVERY TYPE of music you can think of commercial free! There is a 24/7 Elvis channel that broadcasts LIVE from Graceland 24/7, Top 20 hits, 5 different country music channels with varius types of country music, ten different Rock channels, Hip hop channels, Pop, classical, Jazz, dance, Latin&World and more!

You want news? There are ten differnet news channels including FOX news, CNN, NPR and more!

From England and miss English Soccer? Wake up early Saturday AM (time change has you up around 6:00 AM Eastern) and you'll hear LIVE games from Europe!

There are two differnet comedy channels which have nothing but comedy 24/7. One channel is a "clean" the other is "X" rated comedy.

The PNP3 has a Song Seek feature that allows you to mark your favorite songs so that anytime in the future the song is played on Sirius on ANY channel, it'll beep to let you know it's being played and what channel it's on!

There is also a FM Broadcast feature which allows the unit to broadcast on a FM frequency. Meaning you can have the receiver playing in one room, and in another room turn any FM radio onto a channel that's not used and listen to what's on your Sirius! Note you must select a FM channel that's not used in your area and the range for this is only a few rooms, but that's enough for most places. This feature is better in the PNP3 than in the PNP2 as with the PNP3 it's always on and easier to use and activate.

Did I mention the ability to store up to 31 preset stations? That's ten for A setting, ten for B setting and ten for C setting and one Jump station!

And a dimming or auto dim feature which allows you to set the screen brightness to your level of ease. Meaning if you like it bright or have sensative eyes and went it dim. Then you set it to your liking!

It has an alarm, snooze button, auto off so that you can go to sleep and have it turn off at a set time, and even a button to allow you to switch back to the previous channel you were on!

For travelers, there's a jump button that automatically seeks out travel information (detours, jamms, weather, etc.).

You'll also need either a homekit or carkit (depending on where you want to listen), or you can use the receiver both home and auto by simply removing it when you go home/car. OR you can purchase the SIRPBB3...the boombox for the PNP3...NOTE the SIRBB1-2 boombox will NOT fit this PNP3 as the connections are different.

Understand that this PNP3 uses a 2.5 G chip (the brains of the unit) and the PNP2 used a 2.0 chip. The 2.0 chips are not being made anymore, so that once all the PNP2 are gone, that's it. And again the reason is that the 2.5 G chips are made better to not get as hot and play better.

And I didn't even get into all the stations Sirius has! For a comlete listing, go to:

http://www.sirius.com

And look at the prices, you won't find any lower a price around than here!! Add all of this together along with Sirius programming and you have yourself one heck of a receiver!

Sirius Satallite Radio is probably one of the best purchases I've made in years. This has something for everyone..even truck drivers. What I like about it is the commercial free, uncensored music and of course Howard Stern.

the reciever gets warm, which I thought was a bit weird. Other than that I had no problem with it. The reception however, is horrible and drove me absolutly nuts. dont bother purchasing Sirius without an antenna. I purchased the Terk SIR6 Outdoor Home Antenna and I'll update it on how it improved

UPDATE: Reception is horrible where I live...even with the new antenna...if you live in an area with trees, and you have no roof access, dont bother getting sirius satallite radio. Pisses me off that I didnt do the homework that I should have before I bought all of this

Want Audiovox SIR-PNP3 Sirius Satellite Radio Receiver Discount?

I purchased this receiver just after Christmas and I couldn't be happier. Extremely user friendly once installed(which is good because the manual is somewhat confusing). I especially like the scrolling knob and simple remote that makes things easy. I installed the antenna right on my dashboard up near the front of the windshield and I have perfect reception (I'm in the St. Louis metro area). I recommend purchasing the home kit as well. I did and I have it using the FM modulator to use around my home and I'm able to receive a strong signal throughout most of my home. Beware, however, that this is a discontinued product so the accessories are limited...and once they're gone, that's it. I'm also very happy with the Sirius programming. Great music selection as well as talk, news and entertainment. I believe satelite is still in its infancy and will continue to get bigger and better. Good luck and hope this helps.

I know the Droid X is an old phone (by now), but when I had my phone plugged into the wall charger, the phone began exhibiting some ridiculously strange behavior such as: opening and closing random apps on its own, opening the messaging app (droid OS default) and typing messages to people in my contact list, creating calendar events with gibberish in the description, and so on. In short, it seemed like my phone was possessed! Never happened with any other charger or when the phone was not plugged in.

I could only attribute it to the wall charger...very weird. Other than that, everything else was great.

Bought this to get my F150 back on the road. It's a good aftermarket starter and bolts up with no problems. Seems to have a lot more cranking power than my old one, although to be fair, that one was going out. Saved about 100 bucks compared to the parts store in town, so give it a go.

When I do, maybe I'll know what to do with the alternator.

  • 2 megapixel CMOS sensor, Diagonal 120, horizontal 98, Built-in microphone, High-Capacity Meory Card Support (up to 32GB)
  • Various Recording Modes, Motion Dection in Parking Mode Recording, 360 rotation cylinder in sleek design, Full HD label
  • Universal File Format: MP4, Video Playback on various devices, BlackVue App and Software(for PC), MyWay Viewer
  • Built-in GPS and G-sensor, Internal Emergency battery, Voice Guide, 3-color LEDs, Video out

I bought this item just about 3 weeks ago and I have been using it for 2 weeks. It has several advantages. First of all it is small and really easy mountable on the car screen, it is almost not visible while you are driving because it is hidden by rear-view mirror, you can just see LED that shows you mode of device.

Then video. Quality is perfect and could be played by any player that can play MP4.

Also, when you insert SD card to the camera and start it it will place all software in it.

It places it's own video player.

This player seems a bit complicated at first glance but is really good, due to device records not only video but also supplementary info. it can show you your position and speed based on GPS data, time (you have to specify your time zone), sort files by 3 types (normal, event, park). Also if you choose a date it will show what hour you were driving, minutes, seconds, you can click on the desired time and it will view the file that corresponds this date.

Also package contains 4 cable holders that allow you to properly mount power cable.

Just 2 small disadvantages: not very loud sound recording and quite sensitive G sensor.

Overall 5 of 5

I got home the other day and found this order from Amazon. I opened it up, then considered sending it back. It was not the unit which I thought I had ordered. Plus in reading the instructions, it says that the software is on the memory card. The accompanying memory card was blank. (BTW. It uses micro cards.)

Then I got onto the Internet to check it out. It was rated as having the best quality image that you could get from an auto accident camera. I had to try it out, at least, before sending it back. I figured that I would compare it to another Accident Camera that I have for in different vehicle.

I installed it in my car today. It uses a base with a double-sided sticker to attach to the windshield. Once you touch it to the glass, it's there permanently. I did not get mine level. I should have taken more time, as it says in the instructions.

Insert the unit in it's base, then insert the memory card, then attach the power. It's main modes are normal mode for driving. Event mode which is automatic when you hit a bump. And parking mode where it only saves files if there is something moving in the image. It also shuts off automatically when power gets low so that the camera does not to run your battery down while your car is parked. It has indicators to tell you which mode it is in, plus a voice will tell which mode it is in. It switches modes automatically.

The 1st thing it did was format the memory card and save it's software to the card. They claim that the software is compatible with PCs, some smart phones, and some GPS units which accept memory cards. All that I know is that it works on my laptop with Win 7.

One of the odd things is that all of the adjustments to the camera is done to the software on the memory card after the camera formats it. It starts up with the time zone set for Europe. It also starts up set for KPH instead of MPH. Everything is in English. You will have to adjust the time zone and set it to MPH. The software uses the entire height of a PC screen. I could not adjust software information page on my computer screen.

I took the camera for a spin. The video was excellent, compared to my other accident camera.

I'm keeping the camera.

I uploaded a video from this camera, but Amazon hasn't it live, yet. It's HD video and may be too large.

I posted the same video on Youtube, but Amazon has blocked it out. Just search Youtube for "BlackVue DR400G-HD II".

There are 2 versions of this camera. One is Korean and normally is only sold in Korea, according to the information available. The other is for the rest of the world, which is the one that I received from Amazon.

I've had the Blackvue installed in my Tundra for about 3 weeks now and I'm impressed for the most part. One major drawback is if your model vehicle's cigar lighter shuts off after so long with iginition turned off (to prevent car battery drainage). Then the camera turns off and you won't have video footage if someone hits your parked car. Apperently there's some "Power T" battery pack available out there to fix this problem. Doesn't seem to be availble for purchase at the moment. Still looking.

Camera clarity is good for the price. I could take snapshots from the micro-SD card onto my laptop of License plates and street signs that are readable. The incident mode trigger is a little sensitive at times even after adjustment but not a big deal, can easily ignore or turn way down or off, but better to error on the side of safety anyways. The motion sensor is super sensitive during daylight when turned up: raindrops, leaves blowing by, blinking lights set it off easily. It's not the greatest at nighttime though without a minimal amount of light, so park in a well-lit area or install a motion security light near your driveway. It will come on with cars passing by with their lights light, but someone creeping in the dark-I wouldn't count on it: hence the Viper system also installed.

The camera is easily concealed behind the mirror so people don't get too curious. GPS works great. Sound is good. Overall, I'd give this camera a 5 if they included some back-up battery pack system so I can keep it in actual parking mode for multiple days without draining my battery. It only uses 4V in full 1080 HD mode so, it probably would take a long time anyways.

If you try to update the firmware from the manufacturer, the unit tells you that it is a different model. This is the same problem noted on the reviews of the 400-1, read those before you buy. The unit gets very hot. Combine that with direct sun from the windshield and you can imagine how hot! This will be a good unit if they can work out the problems, not worth the money as it is. I am really sorry I bought it.

While the original DR400G-HD was plagued with reliability problems, this version claims to resolve the overheating issue. The main problems in the original camera are as follows:

Purple Light of Death

Burned out Camera

Deteriorating Picture Quality

"Please check SD card" error

Many people suspect the first 3 problems listed are a direct result of the camera overheating.

Overheating

Unfortunately it does not appear that the overheating problem has truly been resolved. Even though the default bit rate is much lower, many users complain the camera gets very hot and there are reports of overheating cameras.

Here is a video of a brand new BlackVue DR400G-HD II Season 2 with excellent video quality.

3.8L 12V Mini DC submersible Water Oil Pump for CPU Cooling Small Pond or HHO System

3.8L 12V Mini DC submersible Water Oil Pump for CPU Cooling Small Pond or HHO SystemPump is used in a warm water circulating sytems at about 70 degrees C. Works perfectly, well within specifications.

The pump is small, quiet, and perfect for the circulation application (small tank to big tank) to which it has been applied. I have had no problems with it and will more than likely be purchasing another one of these small pumps for a secondary, on demand, circulation system in the future.

This pump is very cute/tiny and has a small connector to it, so the volume isn't very high it seems.

I am running it on 12V PC power supply (yellow, black) and it provides enough water flow to hold the temperatures constantly low.

I use 3/8" tubes on it, much larger than this output has, but still works. It may have problems with air in the tubes at the first startup since the volume it delivers is quite small.

The noise level is similar to a pond motor and very quiet. Using it in a bucket, you can reduce sound by uncoupling vibrating tubes or wires from the bucket wall with a sponge.

I am using this with a combined cooling of GPU and CPU (gtx560ti, i3770k) and running very smooth at the moment. I will compare if I get more cooling from my old pond motor with more pressure or not. But anyway, this thing is reliable enough for a very cool system.

Summary:

The pressure is good, the water volume could be higher for more thick tubes.

SOLAR BA7 100-1200 CCA Electronic Battery and System Tester

SOLAR BA7 100-1200 CCA Electronic Battery and System TesterI needed to chase down a slow starting problem that only happened once in a while. I wanted to rule out the battery as the problem, but also needed to test the battery voltage drop during starting. Many digital multimeters have a "peak hold" feature that will hold the highest reading, but for starter testing you need to hold the reading of the lowest voltage measured during starting. The conductive CCA test of the Solar BA7 gave me the battery condition information I needed. The system test gave me the starter load voltage drop test I needed.

The Solar BA7 gets its operating voltage from the battery and indicates the no-load battery voltage when you connect its clips to the battery posts. You then can select the CCA test, enter in the battery's rated CCA, and get a reading of the actual CCA of the battery using a conductive test that sends a 1KHz sinewave through the battery to measure its internal resistance. Next, you switch to the SYSTEM test and crank the car. The BA7 will indicate and hold the lowest voltage reading obtained during starting and give you an "OK" or "FAIL" indication using LEDs. Then, as the engine is running you can advance to the charging test and see the battery voltage while the alternator is providing a charge. Once again, the BA7 gives you an LED indication of "OK" or "FAIL".

The BA7 is a handy tester to have for a quick test of your car's starting and charging system. It is simple enough for the non-technical person to use, but useful for the experienced tech to do troubleshooting. If you only need a one-time test, you can get that for free at many auto parts stores. But, if you are chasing down an intermittent problem, or want a battery system tester for your automotive toolbox, the BA7 is a good product to have.

I've been in the auto repair business for over 25 years. I've seen just about every kind of tester there is. Some only a few hundred bucks, others in the thousands. All to test a car's battery and charging system. I am proud to announce that this tester does everything that is necessary to determine the battery and charging system's state of health for under 100 bucks. It's all I use now. And it's been questioned repeatedly because of its diminutive size. Every challenger has found out by testing with their preferred tester that this one is always right. At this price I outta buy one for home as well.

Living in Maine and being on 24-7 call for fire EMS duties , I bought this as I was having some inconsistent battery issues with a 2000 Legacy. used this and found a marginal charging system which my old style tester didn't pick up. Checked out my other cars all 6+ years old and found a marginal battery on one which I replaced before our last subzero cold snap. Easy to use with clear instruction--have to shade the screen in bright sun but otherwise very clear.

This is a great product for the home auto maintainer. I'm impressed with the design and the build quality. We have 4 cars, 2 of which are specialty cars that are not driven frequently. The battery tester revealed a problem with the battery I least suspected, in my wife's car, which had not exhibited a noticeable starting problem. One minor thing to mention the display is a bit difficult to read in bright sunlight, but it is fine if in a garage or shielded from bright light.

Want SOLAR BA7 100-1200 CCA Electronic Battery and System Tester Discount?

As a long time mechanic, and seeing the price of professional grade stand alone tools continuing to rise to ridiculous prices, I was VERY happy to find this SOLAR BA7 Tester.

Hook it up to the battery on your car, mower, ATV, etc etc, press a button or two, and then you have an instant digital read out in numbers, as well as color coded status lights for the condition of your Battery, Starter, or Alternator. And for cheap!

PROS:

1) It takes a matter of seconds to perform any test, making this simple to use.

2) You can perform tests on batteries hooked up in a car still, or unhooked, making this extremely time saving if you don't have to remove a battery to test.

3) You don't have to fully charge a battery to test!!! Almost all other testing units for batteries you have to have a fully charged battery, which is a pain in the butt, and waste of time. But not for this, you can test on a daily used battery that's not fully charged, genius!

4) Most consumer grade battery testers only give you a read out of battery voltage for their testing capabilities, which is only a part of what you need for an actual test. Voltage is good for understanding percent of the battery charged, but not how much power it's putting out. What you actually need to know besides voltage is CCA (or cold cranking amps), this is the actual capacity of the battery to exert power. So rather than having to take your batteries to your local Auto Part store everytime, buy this tester and have the professional test yourself on your own time, anywhere.

5) Sometimes your starting issue in your vehicle is not a bad battery, but rather a starter or alternator. So you can easily rule these out too by just testing them with the same tester too. You just hook it up to the battery posts just like you would for a battery test, select either the Starter or Alternator test on the tester, and either start the car, or leave it running, and it calculates the voltage readings needed to determine if the Alternator or Starter is bad or going bad, and you're done. Don't have to remove the alternator or starter or fumble around to get to them because you only connect the tester to the battery posts and it reads and tests through the system itself. So much easier with this tester.

CONS:

None that I can think of, it's a great tool for a good price. Can't say enough about it!

Kensington 33199 Digital FM Transmitter and Auto Charger for iPod (Black)

Kensington 33199 Digital FM Transmitter and Auto Charger for iPod
  • Combination FM transmitter/car charger for playing iPod through FM stereo speakers
  • Transmits iPod tunes through any available FM frequency; easy-to-read digital display
  • Plugs into car's DC power source (cigarette lighter outlet); simple up/down button selection
  • Compatible with iPod nano (Gen 1,2,3); iPod (Gen 1,2,3,4); iPod Classic; iPod Touch
  • 3 programmable buttons lock in station presets; ClearFM technology reduces noise

I've had 2 other FM transmitters (A Belkin and a Griffin iTrip). Neither came close to the quality of this transmitter. Neither charged the iPod (The Belkin required batteries, which only lasted about 15 hours of use), while the iTrip worked OK at first, but then started getting static no matter what station I used. In fact, I had to have the iPod in hand for the static to go away (and then, it was still not clear). The sound isn't as loud as some (it takes over the volume control, so you cant use the volume on the iPod.) Still, it's not nearly as soft as some I've seen. I found most music came through at a good volume (I did adjust a few songs in iTunes to pump them up). This unit, although it seems cheap and flimsy at first, is able to get a consistant, strong signal, even on stations which usually come in clearly. It powers through them, and the result is a very clean sound. It is a little hard to read at the regular angle, but once you set the 3 presets, you don't need to see the screen. Just set your radio to the same 1-2-3 configuration. Also, turning it at a 90 degree angle lets you see the screen much clearer. In all, I couldn't be happier.

For days I researched which FM transmitter to buy. After everything I read, I decided to wait for Kensington to release this one. This transmitter was also highly rated by Ilounge. Bottom line...It sounds better than my FM radio. Absolutely no static! I love it.

I bought this unit because of the rave reviews at many IPOD accessory sites. One thing that is awesome on this unit but is hidden is the ability to tune to 87.9FM. In most areas that frequency is unused and crystal clear buy most transmitters only tune down to 88.1. The trick is hold the two right preset buttons down and with your other hand (yes this takes two hands) press the tuner past 107.9. It will now go to 87.5 and 6,7,8,9 and then on to 88.1.

Want Kensington 33199 Digital FM Transmitter and Auto Charger for iPod (Black) Discount?

I have tried two other FM transmitters for my iPod, and this one has proven to work the best. It includes enough frequencies that you shouldn't have any problem finding a clear channel (the lower 80's channels are poor in my area because of all the talk stations, but the high end of the dial works quite well).

The only thing I don't like about this transmitter is that it is nearly impossible to see when it is plugged in. The angle of the LCD is good if you're standing on your head since it is about even with the top of your seat. Also, the orange back-lighting makes reading the numbers on the display quite difficult.

If I were making one of these, I would tilt the display so it faces up, and I would use either LEDs or an LCD display where the numbers light up instead of back-lighting.

I'm still giving this unit 4 stars because the sound quality is really what it is all about, and it does well in that area.

I preface this review by acknowledging that I've tried only one other transmitter, also with unacceptable results. I bought this unit for my daughter (ipod) and decided to try it out before wrapping it. I tried it on 3 car stereo systems and was VERY disappointed in the lack of clarity. I live in a metropolitan area of 1 million + population and was able to locate one band that was nearly static free. The transmitter started off o.k. but within 3 seconds was transmitting unacceptable static. There was no perceptible reduction in static with, or without, the unit engaged. After all the positive reviews I read I was expecting a reliable device but was left to wander why so many reviewers would accept dirty noise with their music its like drinking fine wine from a dirty glass. Would these people also listen to a radio station with static? I, for one, would rather have silence.

I bought this unit from ANTOnline (lowest price should have been forewarned) and they were impossible to communicate with. There is no phone #, and when I finally e-mailed to convey a thorough complaint and request procedures for returning this unit they responded that I should answer 4 questions, yes or no, regardless of any other circumstances. After several cryptic responses they finally stated there would be no refunds for opened packages with parts or packaging missing. Though I reiterated that no parts or packing were missing I haven't heard back from ANTOnline in over a week.

Frustrated to the nth degree, I contacted Amazon, who quickly refunded the cost of the unit. In closing: Amazon has displayed great service and ANTOnline should be avoided as a vendor if there's any possibility of having to engage them after the purchase.

AIMS PWRI18012S 180 Watt Pure Sine Wave Power Inverter, 12 Volt

AIMS PWRI18012S 180 Watt Pure Sine Wave Power Inverter, 12 Volt
  • Pure sine wave Load based fan - only runs when an inverter senses a load ac receptacle which can be used with separate splitter if extra outlets are needed.
  • Continuous output: 180 watts Surge capacity: 360 watts
  • Battery low voltage shutdown: 9.7-10 volts Battery high voltage shutdown: 15 volts
  • Dimensions: 6.25 " x 3.12" x 1.5"
  • 1 Year Warranty Parts and Labor

I use this to power my shop's off-grid lighting circuits. I use a solar panel to charge a battery bank and then this inverter to operate LED lights in the rooms. I also power one CFL and occasionally operate a 28 watt LED television (20 inch). I tried to use a Modified Sine Wave Inverter, but the tv did not turn on and I understand they are hard on LED lights. I chose such a small inverter (180 watt) because the parasitic draw is so little and my consumption is low. I now have a reliable off-grid system that I haven't touched since I put it in.
