Motorola Vehicle Navigation Dock with Rapid Vehicle Charger for DROID BIONIC - Car Kit - Retail Pac

Motorola Vehicle Navigation Dock with Rapid Vehicle Charger for DROID BIONIC - Car Kit - Retail Packaging - BlackI'm in love with my bionic, maybe because I've had a BB Tour for the past nearly 3 years. But I like this dock, turns your phone into a gps basically... if you can't figure out how to use it, simply hit the voice recognition button (make sure its set to google voice search and not that verizon piece of crap voice search) and say "Navigate to New York, NY" and if you speak relatively clearly it will pop up a confirmation box, making sure thats what you want to do... Hit "go" and it will go into navigate mode, where it will act like a GPS... but its better because you can access street view (press the green area at the top where tthe directions are and click the little yellow guy that appears on the bottom right) and live traffic info. You can choose alternate routes and set preferences to avoid tolls / highways.

When I get in my car I tell my car where to take me and pop on pandora. I have it hooked up to my car stereo through an auxilary connection. When GPS instructions need to be given, it pauses pandora. Also, it acts as a speakerphone, which I love. Again, pauses your music with an incoming call. ROutes the callers voice into your speakers and still allows you to use the phones mic to speak. Everybody says they can hear me well! Maybe this doesnt amaze you, but my BB tour used to disable my mic when i hooked up any kind of 3.5mm audio to it, so I was super stoked when this phone worked the way I hoped! Although if you have Bluetooth in your car already, none of this matters.... lol

I had the original "OG" Droid by Motorola, and got very used to having the car dock up by the rear view mirror. Loved the automatic car-mode feature, which was ground-breaking for its time. There were one or two things that I thought could be better... which brings us to this one.

They fixed them all. This thing is GREAT!!

Pros:

A. Nice deep suction cup with a positive lock that holds *really* well!

B. Post-to-mount is a ball joint with a threaded collar to lock it totally adjustable.

C. Camera is unobstructed!! Create a "Camcorder" shortcut on the second screen and you've got driving videos/photos!

D. The BIONIC fits in this without taking it out of the case! (the standard Moto belt case w/kickstand) But, if you're a no-case/pocket kinda guy/gal there's an adapter included FTW.

Cons:

A. Zip

B. Zilch

C. Nada

Buy it. It's perfect. Everyone complaining about it is really complaining about the phone's dock software. There's not one thing wrong with this device.

This item works as described and the navigation works far better than my Garmin Nuvi! The voice command and bluetooth also work well. The only problem I have had is with the music player for some reason I cannot access my full library from the custom home screen music option although I haven't ruled out user error as of yet. I haven't had a problem with the window mount coming detached and the collar to keep the swivel in place works fine on mine as well. Bionic also fits snug while bionic is in the case. If I find that the music library is just a setting in the phone I will add another star but overall I am happy with it and feel it was worth the forty bucks or so I paid for it. Oh btw it also reads text messages aloud if you receive text while driving or gives you an option to call the sender via voice command so you can keep your eyes on the road. I like to see a generic dock do either of those!.

This is the version that comes with the charger and the USB cable. That is very important to pay attention to, because there is also a version that is just the dock (the Verizon one). Anyway, that USB cable is the only connection needed to the dock, cleaning up the look. No need to also plug in an audio cable, as the USB cable carries the audio and you plug the audio cable into that. The docking software has a few well-documented quirks (inability to rotate out of landscape view, phones volume control doesn't work through USB, etc.), but this is not pertinent to a review of the dock itself. The dock itself is very sturdy, the phone slips in and out smoothly, it DOES accomodate the extra capacity battery (I have this), and there is a sleeve that you can remove to accomodate a protective case (I don't have this). Very pleased with the dock so far!

This is an OEM Motorola made for Bionic car mount/cradle . It includes a unique charger set up as well which is not very well described or barely mentioned , ANYWHERE ! So let me start there . The car charger is a dual USB style port which plugs typically into your car's cigarette lighter/12V power outlet just like any other ordinary auto charger . Only this one includes a special cable which is actually 2 cables in 1 ! The 1st is the USB to micro USB used for power / charging of the phone but it actually says to NOT use with other chargers or household outlet style chargers don't ask me why , thats just what it says . It plugs large side into the plug going into your cars power outlet and the other (micro) into the cradle assembly . The 2nd cable is a mini phono style cable which connects to the plug in your cars power outlet and leads out approximatley 12-15 inches and then leads to your vehicles auxillary input jack assuming you have one , if you do great , this is simple neat and easy for you but if you don't , no worries , the cable section is removable and the external phone speaker works fantastically ! Or if your vehicles radio is BT compatible then you could use that method ;) All this bundles up nice and neat with an included velcro wrap up which is a nice lil' bonus too . As for the cradle , it's far nicer than the Motorola cradle for the orignal Droid which i also had and liked , this one will accept the phone out of the box stock or with the extended factory battery or with a variety of silicone sleeve/covers and even the extended battery with factory VERIZON shell/holster what i currently use and it works with them all securely and firmly and allows for full access to all features of your phone as well as buttons and controls and when docked in this cradle unlocks and opens a new auto/navi feature i've never seen or heard of anywhere else and i won't even go into just how awesome and sweet this added perk is . The cradle can be mounted to your windshield via the included suction cup mount which is what i use and prefer or inverted with the included plate which can be adhered anywhere in your vehicle . There are a variety of booklets , instructions and pamphlets also included with this kit one of which was a 15% off on your next VZW in store purchase which worked out nicely for me since i wanted that extended battery and of course an apprpriate cover/sleeve for said extended battery pack equipped phone . Bottom line , if your going to use your phone in your vehicle and you have a BIONIC , GET THIS KIT !!! YOU WON'T BE SORRY !

KHOMO Pink Color MINI USB Car Power Adapter Charger + USB SYNC Cord Cable for Apple iPhone 4G 4S iP

KHOMO Pink Color MINI USB Car Power Adapter Charger + USB SYNC Cord Cable for Apple iPhone 4G 4S iPod Nano iPod Touch
  • Compatible with ALL iPhone models, All iPod models & All iPad models
  • Nice Hot Pink Color.
  • Miniature size.
  • Includes a 3ft Hot Pink Color USB Cable.
  • Brand: KHOMO Accessories.

This is my second time buying a USB cord from KHOMO & I've come to the conclusion that their products are only meant to work for a few weeks. Although the USB cord stopped working, the car adapter charger still works! It's really cute & small, it even lights up when it's plugged in. It isn't the color portrayed in the picture though, it's more of a fuchsia. The only reason why this product got 4 stars is because of the car adapter, would've gotten 5 if the USB cord wasn't included.

I ordered the pink car charger and it doesn't work. My iPhone says it's charging, but it isn't really charging. I have tried to charge it several times, but I always have to end up using my old car charger instead.

I've never written a feedback comment before but seeing how disappointing this product was, I felt obligated to do so, so other customers can be warned about this product. This product is cute and pink, BUT after a minute of charging my iphone 4 it'll stop charging then charges then stop charging then it'll charge, making that charging noise repetitively. It was quite annoying. The quality is worth the price you paid for.

This plug and cable will not charge the iPhone 4. A message comes on the screen which says that it's an unsupported accessory. I think the message might have ended with "you cheap skate", but I may just be misremembering.

I like to listen to podcasts while I drive around. This shockingly pink version was a bit cheaper than the other colors, so I ordered it anyway. I love the fact that I can drive around and listen to my podcasts while my iPod Touch battery actually GAINS a charge. Now I don't have to remember every night to plug in my iPod Touch so its battery won't die on me during the day. This product works well. It has a bright red LED on the plug that you slide in to your cigarette lighter, which means the LED stays lit even when the car is off and the key is removed. (You don't have to worry about this because the LED takes such a tiny amount of power that it won't wear down your car battery at all.) The plug is just the right length to slide all the way in to the cigarette lighter socket so I can still unplug the cord and shut the ash tray. Since the plug has a standard USB adapter on it, presumably you could plug any USB device into it, so you could charge or power other USB devices, as long as they don't draw too much power (probably not a good idea to plug in that USB coffee mug warmer you got for Christmas) but pocket cameras and cell phones with USB cables should probably be okay.

Honeywell HW400PI DC to AC 400 Watt Power Inverter

Honeywell HW400PI DC to AC 400 Watt Power InverterIt worked well for 2 weeks and seemed to provide good power from a cigarette ligher outlet. The fan is much louder than most similar units and can just barely be heard above the car noise at highway speed. The fan is completely off with no load, but turns on full for any significant load. I powered laptops with the unit for two weeks, then I connected the unit to a handheld car vacuum. The vacuum ran for a few seconds and the inverter died. No user replaceable fuses were inside. The fuses I did see were not blown. An important lesson.. always test inverters with full loads before the warrenty is up.

Received this inverter a couple of weeks ago and I am happy with its performance. I am preparing for an extended photography trip across the US and needed an inverter that met my power requirements, was quite while operating, and built to last. I also needed duel electrical sockets and a USB port. This unit appeared to have it all. Several reviews were encouraging and since having most of my budget being spent on some major items for my trip, the price was right.

I have tested the product several times already and it works as expected and is even quieter than I had expected. Which is nice since driving will provide enough noise on its own, I certainly didn't want any more. If I had one issue I would have preferred that the wire from the lighter plug to the unit be a foot or two longer. But using the middle console lighter socket allows me plenty of room to hide it on the floor behind the front seats.

Now, the real test will be how it handles fairly heavy use, recharging laptop and camera batteries as well as brewing small pots of coffee for my sixty days on the road. I leave in mid may (2011) and will try to provide an update upon my return. If interested my website for the trip is

Heininger 5552 Flexi-Lite Flexible Lighted Magnetic Pick-Up

Heininger 5552 Flexi-Lite Flexible Lighted Magnetic Pick-UpThis arrived with dead batteries but that's not the reason for the two stars. This product is an engineering enigma. You've got this beautifully machined aluminum battery comparment/handle with no-slip grip. Water proof switch, o-ringed cap, heavy duty coated flex neck and an LED light built into the end. Wonderful. Then you get the business end and ...wait a minute......where's the magnet? Oh...it's stuck to the side of the flex neck. Hmm... so, you pull it off and stick it in the end of the tool where it belongs, and as soon as you pick up an object the magnet falls out again. Nice. The head is brass so it's not going to stick to that, no glue, absolutely nothing to keep the magent on the tool. I hate sending things back, so just to make the thing work, I took the end off, used a vise grip to make the magnet slot out of round and provide an interference fit, beat the magnet in with a mallet, now it's working fine. What were they thinking? It's like they ran out of money when it came time to engineer the most important part of the product.

I just recieved this to day, first off the cheep batteries that came with it exploided inside it and I had to clean it with electric motor cleaner (no problem)the light is not as bright as I expected(but gets the job done)and the magnet strength is average (again acceptable)do not expect to recieve a top quality product here although the handle is rather nice.

I should have foreseen the problem when I opened the package.

The lamp flickered, it looked like a poor contact so I checked to see if the caps (battery end-cap and the light end cap) were secure. The battey cap was okay, but the light end cap was loose. I snugged it up a bit (less than a quarter turn) and the lamp no longer flickered. Solved that easily?

Not really, because when I tried to use the light while working on some equipment (the reason I bought it), the lamp flickered again. I checked the lamp-end cap, and it was still loose! Upon closer examination, I could see that the threads were defective; the female cap and the male body could not be secured; a little pull and the cap simply came off in my hand. Then I could see that the wiring (from the battery compartment to the lamp) was badly twisted and frayed, obvious that the flickering was caused by a short or break in the wiring.

It appears that someone, likely on the assembly line, tried to secure the lamp-end cap to the body, it just kept turning and twisted the wiring to the point that it frayed and shorted; of course they solved their problem by shipping the thing to the customer.

It now "swims with the fishes", this is junk, beware.

I purchased this as a White Elephant gift for my car clubs annual gift exchange. This was one of the only gifts that changed hands a number of times and was fought over. Schumacher BT-100 100 amp Battery Load Tester

Schumacher BT-100 100 amp Battery Load TesterThis device is a carbon pile load tester.

A carbon pile load tester works by applying a calibrated load to the battery (the load is essentially a large carbon resistor that heats up when voltage is applied).

To properly test using this method, the battery must be at least 75% charged. A good battery should be able to supply half its cold cranking amps (CCA) rating for 15 seconds without dropping below 9.5 volts (if you want to test batteries that are not fully charged you'll need to purchase an electronic tester which tests by measuring the internal resistance of the battery.)

IMPORTANT NOTE: This unit (by design) will get hot and might initially produce some smoke if there is any foreign matter on the resistor element.

Remember, this unit is a carbon pile testerin other words, uses a thick carbon resistor to apply a heavy load across the battery terminals to load test the battery. Works flawlessly from the first, and I use this unit daily in my lawnmower shop it is a huge time-saver over "test by elimination" methods, and has successfully tested several dozen batteries and going strong. As long as unit is maintained (keep it clean and in a toolbox where dust won't settle on the carbon resistors) you'll be happy to have this unit in your shop. If you leave it out or splatter oil on it, obviously it will smoke as the debris burns off from the hot carbon pile resistor.

It does not test a discharged battery (but if a 12V battery does not have 12 volts, even after charging, it's obviously bad) but a quick charge from a charger and a quick, very brief load test to burn off surface charge easily lets me know whether to continue charging the battery or condemn it right away.

For a small shop that does not need the advanced features of a resistance circuit computerized battery tester, this unit is well worth the investment. (we use different procedures for charging system testing, depending on the equipment being serviced, so it is not always possible to test these charging systems we work with with an advanced computerized unit, so.. )

Only complaint I have with this unit is the cables are maybe a little short, and quite stiff. It'd be nicer if the cables at least had more flexibility to them, or were about 6 to 10 inches longer some places it is a little clumsy to hook it on to the battery, while holding up the tractor seat at the same time, and other places the battery is slightly recessed. smaller clamps to fit in tight spots, and more flexible cables, and this unit would be *perfection*

Besides checking batteries on my car and truck I have several other deep cycle batteries for RV and other purposes. This unit provides an easy and quick way to know if the batteries are healthy and expected to last awhile. Yes, the tester did smoke slightly during it's first use, but it's expected to 'burn in' when new, like a muffler on a new car. The BT-100 looks and feels like a quality piece of equipment, is handy to have around and a good buy from Amazon.

Read Best Reviews of Schumacher BT-100 100 amp Battery Load Tester Here

I purchased one of these from Amazon about a month ago. My issue...I have an on-board battery charger in my bass boat, so I simply plug in from a remote plug and end up not checking/maintaining my three boat batteries as often as I should. So, when I went to use the boat the first time this year, I did check the water level in my starting battery and found it low (below the top of the plates). I had charged it to put away last year, but wasn't sure if I should trust it this year. So I ordered this, followed the instructions to load test the battery, and found it good. Without this, I would have probably just bought a new battery "to be safe". So save one battery. I have also used it to test the JD lawn tractor battery, the battery for my wood splitter, my trolling motor batteries, and both my vehicle batteries. I also keep a couple spare 12v batteries. One tested bad, so I could dispose of that, otherwise I may have just had that sitting around and kept trying to keep it periodically topped off with a 2A trickle charger.

So, I figure it has already paid for itself, and I'm a light user. Now my brother can check his batteries too. Yes, I recommend!

great in all shops. I use mine on anything that got a battery;golfcarts ,farm tractors, equipment, you name it.

good tool for the money and it is nice to trouble shoot the charging system.

the only bad i wish the cables were a foot longer, but only in some instances.

Kat's 24150 150 Watt 4"x 5" Universal Hot Pad Heater

Kat's 24150 150 Watt 4'x 5' Universal Hot Pad HeaterI purchased several sizes/wattages of these hoping to find the right sizes for my snowblower and ATV engines. The trick is to find flat open spots on or near the bottom of the oil reservoir, clean it well, and stick the appropriate size of heater there. The instructions say DO NOT use gasoline or acetone to clean the spot, and you must believe it. The first one I put on I used acetone (I know but it's all I had) to clean the spot, and the adhesive does not stick well. On the others I used mineral spirits, and they stick like glue. They stink a bit when heated, but that is going away with use. I also used a 50 watt one to keep a bird bath de-iced, and it worked perfectly down to 5 deg F. No thermostat, so a good idea is to just plug them in a few hours before you use the equipment, or put them on a timer. But, they don't seem to overheat if you put the appropriate wattage on the appropriate size of reservoir and that's a guessing game. Five stars because they are inexpensive and do exactly what they are meant to do.

This works pretty well on the oil pan of my vehicle. It does not have a thermostat. It does need insulation on the back side so that it does not lose heat. I plug it in about 2 hours before I use the vehicle and it does the job of preheating. I also have one of these to keep our Moose pond thawed. The unit is submersible. So far the animals haven't eaten it. So you can use this item for a lot of things, but it has to be attached or submerged in something. It will overheat in the air, by itself. I rated it less than 5 stars because it is not insulated on one side and it does not have a thermostat.

put this on the oil pan of my 3 series bmw. i live in the warm south but keep this plugged in 2 hours before startup each morning. engine starts much healthier sound and 5 speed stick shift tranny shifts smoother in cold weather @ startup b/c the tranny case gets conductive heat thru the oil pan.

if you live in warm climate I would not reccomed keeping this plugged in overnight....it'd be a waste of energy and these get darn hot. I'll zap the exterior temps of my oil pan and tranny case and report back with the case temps from my infrared temp gun.

overall product works great. i did install with a bead of high temp silicon around the edge (after first cleaning the oil pan of grime with some type of solvent..acetone maybe).

Put it on a timer and let it run an hour or two before startup. its bound to reduce wear on engine. well worth the money b/c it costs mere cents in electricity.

UPDATE AS OF 12/2/2012 with the temps from a laser temp gun:

OK Here are the temps I zapped:

w/ no power to the stick-on heater

Ambient in garage = approx 68

Laser gun temp on oil pan = 68

Laser gun temp on tranny case = 68

Laser gun temp on lower block = 68

Laser gun temp on vanity cover = 68

OBDII temp from coolant temp sensor in head = 66.3

After turning on pad for 1 hour:

Ambient in garage = approx 68

Laser gun temp on oil pan = 94-86 depending on where I zap it

Laser gun temp on tranny case = 72

Laser gun temp on lower block = 78

Laser gun temp on vanity cover = 69

OBDII temp from coolant temp sensor in head = 68.0

After turning on pad for 2 hours:

Ambient in garage = approx 68

Laser gun temp on oil pan = 92.6-99.5 depending on where I zap it

Laser gun temp on tranny case = 75

Laser gun temp on lower block = 83.6

Laser gun temp on vanity cover = 70.7

OBDII temp from coolant temp sensor in head = 71.6

After turning on pad for 2.5 hours:

Ambient in garage = approx 68

Laser gun temp on oil pan = 93.5-102.2 depending on where I zap it

Laser gun temp on tranny case = 75.5

Laser gun temp on lower block = 83.9

Laser gun temp on vanity cover = 71.6

OBDII temp from coolant temp sensor in head = 71.6

I'm using this heater in Texas to warm up oil before short trips. So what do these numbers indicate to me? They indicate that the oil temp is at best climbing 30 degrees over abient temp. Thats not as favorable as I was hoping. I'm going to put another 150 wattt on the oil pan and see if I can get more heat to the oil before startup b/c short trips w/ cold oil is not good for the engine.

If you live somewhere up north where its cold and get snow then I would highly recommend the 250 watt pad if your oil pan holds enough oil. From what I hear a 250 watt will warm the oil and possibly provide enough heat to thaw snow and ice from hood and windshield. From kats I believe the specs on side of heater for a given oil capacity are as follows:

100 watt for 2-5 qts engine oil

150 watt for 5-8 qts engine oil

250 will for 8-20 qts engine oil

p.s. the silicon sealant I used was from auto parts store and it was black in color. the sealants have a heat rating on back and the black stuff was rated to 400 deg F.

This is a great product. I was having trouble getting my tractor to start in the cold MN winter. I bought this heater and stuck it to the bottom of the oil pan. I also bought the Katz battery warmer and wrapped the battery. From the day I installed them my tractor started like it was 80 degrees in the middle of summer. We had an extremly cold winter this year and my tractor started with no trouble everytime.

Want Kat's 24150 150 Watt 4"x 5" Universal Hot Pad Heater Discount?

I was looking at this and one of the magnetic heaters & wasn't sure which was best, so with both being ~$25 (where it's not like buying a car) I got one of each (figuring I may put one on a car and keep one for other uses). One of the places I wanted to be able to use them was on a small engine (like for a generator or snow-blower) and with those having an aluminum block (where the magnet won't stick) I got a steel plate ~1/8 thick I could bolt up to the engine base. I put the magnetic heater on the plate (without it on the engine yet) & plugged it in, after 1 minute the plate seemed totally cold still. I pulled the plate off and put my hand near the unit where it's base was warm, so put it back on. Apparently, the magnetic bars stick out enough that it leaves a 1/16-1/8 gap between the base creating the heat and the attached plate. So the heat either needs to "jump" the air gap or all be funneled thru the little magnet bars to get where you want it to go. If we're talking about outside temps of 20 or less where you want to warm an engine, trying to warm the air around it doesn't seem great to me.

So I then tried placing this "heating pad" unit on the same plate (after cleaning it as per instructions and putting a bead of silicone around the edge that needed to dry). With it plugged in, the plate is too hot to hold within 1 minute (and was at 200 degrees within 2 minutes). So it heats fast, but if you're not using it on something big enough to easily absorb all of it's heat you may have an issue with it NOT have any temp control (although they say it has such).

So my conclusion is if you want good heat transfer, the heat pad unit seems better with full contact. If you want an easy to slap-on or removeable unit, the magnetic one may work.

Just be sure to look at what you plan on mounting this on. If thinking of your oil pan, you want one that is smooth with no "ribs" or ridges and has a flat surface the size of this. They say to "use a roller to be sure of no air pockets under it" and if the pan has ridges or you try to go around a corner, you'll likely have issues with it sticking well. Most engine blocks don't have this big an open/smooth space for it, so oil pans may be the only good place.

Note: Both units say in the instructions "Don't place on painted surfaces because it'll damage the paint", so you want bare metal for either (even if it means striping off paint). Also if you're wondering "How do you warm a generator engine with power out (which is when you need it)?" I have a deep cycle battery & inverter that should work for ½ hour, then with the gen going I can recharge.

Pioneer Cdsr100 Steering Wheel Remote Control

Pioneer Cdsr100 Steering Wheel Remote Control
  • For use with select Pioneer receivers

Well, it didn't work for me after initial setup. Honda CRV is the worst possible cars for this remote to work: the radio has some deep housing around, plus it's on top, plus there is transmission's column-mounted selector lever covering the radio from the left. It worked only in total darkness, 2 o'clock mounted.

Here comes the fix.

It's infrared, so I stared looking for a LED, which is supposed to transmit the signal. Take any home TV remote and see how it works. You'll find some clear plastic, covering a LED, or LED with no cover coming out to send a signal. Basically, it's an invisible light, nothing more.

I was surprised and shocked to find no LED visible anywhere on Pioneer CD-SR100. Since it didn't work for me and I'm too lazy to ship it back, I've decided to open the unit to see what's inside. It wasn't really hard, actually. You start from the bottom, where Pioneer logo is, carefully using a small flat screwdriver, and quickly have the unit in two peaces. This is when you'll see the LEDs, two of them, hidden inside right behind that Pioneer logo. There is a tiny hole of a hair size which, according to minds of Pioneer engineers, is big enough for the signal to come out. I don't want to use any other words here, but I totally disagree with Pioneer on their idea.

To continue, you have to remove the volume control board. It's attached with 4 small screws. After that, I took a drill, a 1/8 drill bit and just drilled a hole near that LED, which was closest to my head unit on 2 o'clock position. That's it. I even trimmed the volume board with scissors to open up the LED even more and pushed its head to the new hole. You can assemble the unit back after that.

And now it WORKS! It works at 2 o'clock, at 6, at 10, at darkness, at sun it just works. Once again, don't want to comment Pioneer's engineers. People, finalizing the design of this unit should be fired. Actually, the soldering of the board was so-so, it's on very cheap side, has 4-5 parts on the board, and for the money the unit is too overpriced.

You're loosing you warranty after doing what I did, I bet, but for me the only way before was just to throw the unit away, so I don't care.

Found intermittent operation when out of the box. Found the review on Amazon recommending a drilled hole, snipped board, and bent LED. This makes it a 5 out of 5. Works like a champ. Remove the battery. Separate top from bottom (did it with my fingernails). Stock uses two LED's to bounce light off your face through black plastic while this makes for clean packaging it doesn't pass light well (invisible or not). CAREFULLY bend one of the LED's to point toward your deck instead of your face. Drill a 1/8" hole (found drilling from the inside out easier) pointed toward your deck. Remove the 4 screws on the audio volume board and snip the corner off with a pair of scissors or cutters right along the closest wire solder pad (not an absolutely necessary mod if you are crunched for time or fear). Position the LED to point toward the hole. Reassemble. 1/2 hour tops mostly to round up tools. Make it work EVERY time. Positioned mine in an Altima @ 3 o'clock. 1 foot from the deck face. Really makes the system come alive (PIONEER DEH-9800BT with XM). Awsome combo.

Pioneer Cdsr100 is a steering remote control unit being sold by Pioneer for more than 9 years now. Yes, because it works well with all units, so there was no need to replace it. I am using it with DEH P-80MP (or P-1Y in Asia) for two years and my experience so far with it is just ok. I like the ease to operate, and its excellent design, but hates when it stops working when your car is parked in sun, or when it is too cold. Still, it is value for money product from Pioneer.

No interuptions regardless of driving conditions. Actually it works as well as the original "card" type remote accompaning the head unit.

BMW Electronic Tire Pressure Gauge

BMW Electronic Tire Pressure GaugeThese used to be sold in Brookstone and I bought one around 2000. Had it nine years and battery finally died and couldn't find another. Then to my amazement, I saw one with a BMW lable and purchased four. Didn't want to run out again. It's got a beep that tells you when accurate pressure is read; this isn't mentioned in ad copy for some reason but it's a great feature. Durable and long lasting. Love it.

Real BMW Part -Even though it doesn't have the BMW "spinning propeller" logo, this indeed seems to be a BMW product (I looked up the part number at a BMW dealer). It is made in China, but the quality is definitely on par with what I'd expect from BMW. Case is plastic but very sturdy.

Fast and Accurate -Operation is so simple (device is auto on / auto off)... just pop it on the tire, wait for it to beep and read the pressure. I've checked it against my vehicle TPM system and other gauges and it is precise to within a tenth or better of PSI. Accuracy as defined by repeatable measurements is **extraordinary** -spot on to the nearest tenth of PSI every time.

Repeatable Measurements -Part of the reason why the repeatability is so good is that, unlike almost every other tire gauge I've owned, this one slips on and off so easily there's almost no air loss... yet it makes a fast positive seal for the reading.

Hitting Exact PSI -The digital readout is great for hitting the target PSI -something that in the case of two of our vehicles is pretty much "encouraged" by the TPM alert systems. It's also great for motorcycles where spot-on pressure is important for handling/cornering.

Motorcycles and Scoots Ok -The head does have a low profile bubble on top measuring about 3/4" high, but because it's extended out from the body of the gauge with a triangular-shaped 'bridge', it is easy to get on those often hard-to-access motorcycle tires where dual discs and buzzsaw style wheels interfere and scooter tires where the swingarm/CVT pod and plastic body parts get in the way.

Fast + Easy = No Hassle Use -Because of how easily this pops on/off and how quickly it gets to a stable reading (less than a second before the beep, usually), I do think you'll tend to use it over any other gauge you might have, and maybe use it a bit more often. The 'small' hassles - obviously bad readings, too much air loss necessitating refill, taking two readings to make sure first one was right -all of these go away when you get a fast reading that you can count on being accurate the first time/every time.

Wish I could give it an extra half star for being just the right tool for the task -simply no more and no less than what's needed.

Works as advertised but it doesn't look like an original BMW part. It does NOT bear the BMW LOGO, only a poorly printed "BMW" as shown in the photo. Looks like an unauthorized OEM made by AccuTire for a BMW dealer. Feels solid though.

Product seems to do a good job at reading the tire pressure. Was concerned about how you would be able to read the gauge when it is on the tire, but the gauge beeps when the pressure is read and displays after removing from the tire.

  • Professional Inspection and Oil Service Reset Tool for Old BMW built in 1982-2001 with 20 pin diagnostic socket located in the engine compartment.
  • Reset Inspection and Oil Service.
  • Compatible Vehicles: BMW 1982 - 2001.
  • Small, lightweight, and portable, Plug & Play, easy to use, no batteries needed.

It is a handy tool to have if you want to reset "oil" and "service" indicators on your own. It works on BMW's prior to 2001 Model year and some early 2001 models with the connectors under the hood. It came without any user manual, but it is a straight forward device with only 2 buttons.

I was a bit skeptical when I saw this product being shipped from China. But it works. If you do your own oil change or have a difficult time finding a mechanic who can reset your inspection service light, this is a very good buy. It is simple to use and worked as promised. Just remember this is not a diagnostic tool.

Listen Up Personal Sound Amplifier

Listen Up Personal Sound Amplifier
  • DON'T DISRUPT ANYONE AGAIN
  • YOU'LL NEVER MISS ANOTHER WORD AT CHURH OR THE MOVIES

My wife has dementia and has lost 2 hearing aids. OUCH!! She is

now outfitted with a Listen Up amplifier and Sony WO8L earbuds with

headband. The aaa battery used is a rechargeable. The combo works well

enough; of course a hearing aid is somewhat better, but 50 times more

expensive. A new Listen Up is a high gain low noise amplifier with no

limiting and no automatic gain control. Two that I bought broke down and suffered from self oscillation after s few months of use. I've not

seen a competing device, and the units are cheap enough to be dispensable.

Unfortunately you can't buy them in quantity and get a cheaper shipping

price. The box that one unit is shipped in could hold many units.

Buy Listen Up Personal Sound Amplifier Now

This is by far the worst product I ever purchased on a TV pitch. It does not work without holding it up (tiring) and even set at full blast, it was still not enough to turn down the TV sound enough to not bother anyone else in the room. Save your money buy something better.

You get what you pay for. This is a cheap unit that amps up everything, across the board. As such, you will not be able to use it for anything other than point-source amplification, as in sitting in an almost sound-proof room listening to a TV with one speaker. If you live in a "normal" home, and try to listen to TV with this unit, be prepared to hear the AC hissing loudly in your ear, your friends using the restroom and their flushes bringing the thrill of Niagara Falls to your den! Don't cough while using this unit, or you'll knock out what little hearing you may have left!

We buy this product for my special needs who is deaf. It's very loud and holds up pretty well considering he is very rough with it. This item has

always arrived on time with both amplifier and head phones in working order. So listen up and hear well.

I have owned the (Listen Up) for more than three years, it works better than a lot of hearing aids, when I first tried it I was setting on the front porch and I could hear the crickets, (I had not heard the crickets in years) I also can hear the birds singing and a lot of sounds I have not heard in years. ( Great device.)

Black & Decker TC212B Travel Cooler & Warmer

Black & Decker TC212B Travel Cooler & WarmerBefore retiring I drove a tractor trailer cross country for over 20 years, and used a similar but larger chest cooler nearly all that time. These things work great if you use them properly. Unless you are willing to wait a long time for things to cool down, you MUST cool items down before putting them in the cooler," The colder the better " Also if you cool the inside of the cooler first, that would help even more. Try not to pack your food into it to tightly, it needs a little space between items for cold air to circulate.

According to Amazons product description this cooler is supposed to have a low battery cut off, that turns the cooler off if you forget to turn it off and your battery gets low. I have had this cooler over a year now with no problems since I turned it off when not in use. The other day I forgot to turn it off, the battery was dead the next day. So use caution and make sure it is off when not in use. Evidently the low battery cutoff on my cooler is not working properly. That's of course if it actually has a low battery cutoff, you can't always depend in what they say. There photo is wrong, so maybe there cutoff description is wrong also.

This is handy if you buy some hot food out,and are not going home immediately (ie; Chinese food, rotisserie chicken, hot wings, etc.)or are going on the road and want to take some hot food with you, or want to buy some fast food to eat later just put it in the cooler and turn it on the heat cycle. Everything will still be toasty hot when you get ready to eat it. If traveling a AC/DC Converter is a must if you need to keep things cold in a motel, or for an extended stop that has a 110 volt AC wall outlet to plug it into. The Black & Decker CV6B Travel Mate 6.0 Amp AC/DC Converter will do the job. This cooler works well, it is also quite sturdy and very nice looking. The top of the cooler is a cushion for a arm rest or even to sit on, it is that well made. With it's sholder strap, it's easy to carry to a ball game, concert, the beach etc. If you put a long lasting Techni-Ice Travel Pouch inside, everything will remain cold for the entire event. The side zippered storage compartment is a decent size, and has room to hold your utensil's and smaller condiment's. The plug in cord is 6 ft.long, so you should have option's on where you want to place the cooler.

UPDATE: June 2010 ::: I have had this cooler close to 3 years now and it is still working great " except the low battery cut off mentioned above " I use it regularly since it is always in my vehicle. Comes in handy to put cold cuts and perishables in after shopping, when I am not going home immediately.

You can also check out my review on the larger Koolatron Voyager Thermoelectric Cooler P-27,which I also have and use in the event I have to take extra with me on a longer trip. A Thumb's up on this review would be very nice, Thank you.

NOTE!!! THE AMAZON PHOTO IS NOT THE CORRECT COOLER. Model TC212B HAS A STORAGE COMPARTMENT ON THE SIDE,( Check out my Customer Image )

I purchased this keep my wife's insulin cool on a trip from California to Tennessee. We crossed the desert in the beginning of August and the cooler did what it was supposed to do. While it didn't keep the insulin refrigerator cold, it was cool about 50 degrees I estimate. It also served the secondary purpose of keeping water and sodas cool for the drive. If it had kept things closer to refrigerator cool, I'd have given it 5 stars.

We just took a trip out west (5,000 miles round trip!) and this product worked quite well!! All the food was chilled and kept just like a refrigerator. My only complaint(and not a very fair one at that!) is that when you turn off the car to go somewhere for a few hours it doesn't keep the food cold anymore, because the car isn't on. But it does do everything it claims to do! :D I def reccomend this product.

I bought this for my husband so he has something to keep his food toasty on the below freezing days when he is working out in the fieldunable to warm his lunch. He works outside year around so in the winter it works superb to heat his food straight out of the fridge to a nice tempperfect for eating at lunch. He hasn't been able to test it out in summer yet but assuming the cooling part is as good as the heatingit was money well spent!

So far so good. I was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews but I liked the looks of the item and all the reviews of different brands seemed to be the same. This was a Father's Day present for my husband and he loves it. He works on jobsites and is at the mercy of the heat all day. He says it works great and does not kill the battery on his truck. He does however boost the cold a little by adding a small freezer pack inside so that everything stays extra cold. I would recommend this product.

TaoTronics® TT-BA01 Wireless Portable Bluetooth Stereo Music Transmitter (Not A Bluetooth Receiver

TaoTronics® TT-BA01 Wireless Portable Bluetooth Stereo Music Transmitter for 3.5mm Audio DevicesI was hesitant to buy this after reading a few of the negative reviews that mentioned a major audio delay. Still, it was the cheapest, decently reviewed solution for my needs. After having the product for about 2 weeks, I can say I'm very happy that I bought it. I use this, in conjunction with the Samsung Modus 3500 HM3500 Premium Noise Cancelling Dual Mono Stereo Bluetooth Headset with 2 Adapters to play games and watch TV without waking up my kids. That includes playing games like Rock Band and Dance Central. With regular games, Dance Central, and TV, I haven't noticed any delay. The delay is noticeable with Rock Band, but it isn't anything that the game can't compensate for. According to the auto calibration, the delay varies between +160 and +200 ms.

In addition to the negligible delay, the battery life is fantastic. It lasts through at least two charges of the headphones (about 8 hours total), and it can still operate while charging. I haven't noticed any degradation in sound quality, either. This is everything I needed it to be, and at a reasonable cost.

I haven't had the transmitter for long, but here is what I have noted so far:

1. Works great with the Kindle in Text to Speech mode.

2. Works great with Kindle Fire playing a show on Hulu+.

3. No lag with the Kindle Fire while watching shows on Hulu+ (I imagine buffering and connections could change this, but works great for me).

4. Works while plugged in and charging (saw in another review that they read it didn't so I tested it).

Only problem I have is half my household is threatening to swipe mine if I don't get them one of these.

I have a zune and unfortunatly it does not have Bluetooth. I found this recommended as a solution and thought it was worth a try. It works great! I wish that my car radio was set up for mp3 players other than Apple and my radio controls would work too. Maybe some day people will realize that not everyone likes Apple and make software compatible to other players. Love the adapter.

TaoTronics and SunValleyTek are all Gentlemen and Scholars for this excellent product and at a good price!

I just tested these transmitters with all 3 of my TV's and with both my Creative D100 and D200 speakers and whatever video/audio delay there is its ever so slight its not even worth mentioning. I'm very impressed with how these work. I have an Altec-Lansing/Plantronics dongle and the performance is the same as with the TaoTronics. The only way I could tell there was any kind of a very slight audio delay was to play the audio from the TV itself at the same time and then you could see the audio was dead on with the TV speakers and just a slight delay from the Bluetooth. Had I not done that it was difficult to tell if there really was any delay. That's how close it is. I'm very pleased with this, especially for the cost of 20 bones. It paired perfectly with my Creative D100 and D200 Bluetooth speakers while they were plugged into my TV's and my Chinese iPod Nano clone. The pairing button and blue/red lights are awesome. The quality of the audio is just fine. My wishlist? Instead of the skinny wire, have the stereo plug attached directly to the unit itself and flip out. Oh yeah!

UPDATE: I decided to make comparison with these and my Plantronics/Altec Lansing Bluetooth dongle that came with my Plantronics BackBeat 903 stereo headset. Ever since I got this Plantronics dongle I've wanted to get another one but they don't sell them separately and if you can find them ever they're absurdly priced. Glad I never got another because these TaoTronics blow them away! The sound through my BackBeat headset is just as good but the volume now goes up about another 30% compared to the Plantronics/Altec Lansing Bluetooth dongle! The volume is also louder on my Creative D100 and D200! These Tao's rock big time!!! Oh yeeeeah!

I purchased this along with LG Tone (HBS-700) Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Headset Retail Packaging Black/Orange to use while at work. Luckily they both have about the same run time of about 8 hours. I plug these into the 3.5mm jack on my speakers and I'm able to walk around my office (up to 30 feet) without any interference at all. I've never heard of this brand and took a chance but it was worth it. Generally i fully discharge the battery and it fully recharges in about 1.5 hours. I'd highly recommend this product.

C. Crane FM2 Digital Full Spectrum FM Transmitter for MP3 Players, Stereo Systems, Radios, Laptops

C. Crane FM2 Digital Full Spectrum FM Transmitter for MP3 Players, Stereo Systems, Radios, Laptops and Any Audio Source
  • Wireless broadcast of any audio to any FM radio anywhere in your home, car or office.
  • The FM Transmitter 2 uses FM radio waves to send sound from any device you choose to any nearby radio or stereo system
  • AC adapter included, or use 2 optional AA batteries. FCC compliant

Out of box the CCrane fm2 transmitter will be dissappointing. I had a hard time getting 20 feet out of it.

I decided to do the mod after finding instructions online. It was very easy. The VR2 needs to be turned

counter-clock wise on the FM2 as compared to clockwise on the original. After the mod the range is fantastic!!!

I can stream satellite music at work and send it to nearby rooms that I will be working in. Very satisfied

with this product.

I purchased this in order to broadcast music throughout my apartment. I live near Milwaukee, so I knew the radio spectrum is pretty congested, but helped me find open channels.

Let me say, out of the box, this product was very disappointing. I tried multiple open channels, but I could only get reception on 1 or 2 of my radios at a time, not all of them. No matter what channel I chose, my broadcast was being swamped by other hardly audible broadcasts, even on open channels. So I did the following mod: . However, on this model I had to rotate VR2 counter-clockwise to get boosted transmission. Now it works beautifully and I have reception throughout my apartment.

One last thing worth mentioning: the Crane transmitter allows tuning the broadcast to half channels. I highly recommend using this. I found one of my radios picked up 101.5 best when I was transmitting at 101.5.5. The transmitter isn't going to be perfect, so it's worth toying with those to get the best sound quality.

There are two excellent reviews on the web covering this newest model. Just do a web search for Radio Jay Allen C.Crane Fm Transmitter 2. For a second review search for HobbyBroadcaster C.Crane FM Transmitter 2.

Jay Allen works in the broadcast industry and explains why the FM Transmitter 2 sounds so much better than other FM transmitters. The other review by Hobby Broadcaster agrees with Jay Allen but mentions that their first review unit had a problem with a faulty soldering job on the antenna. This caused poor FM broadcasting range. They returned the first unit and received a replacement unit. Hobby Broadcaster gave the replacement FM Transmitter 2 a glowing review.

I agree with Allen and Hobby Broadcaster that this product has good range and sounds fantastic. I plug my iPod Touch into it and can receive the FM signal throughout my house. The sound quality is equal to or better than a regular FM broadcast station. The reason the FM Transmitter 2 sounds better than regular broadcast FM stations in some cases is because many broadcasters artificially boost the bass of the FM broadcast signal making it sound horrible on some radios this artificial bass boost makes male announcers voices sound "boomy".

I would give this product a 5 star rating if it weren't for the somewhat flimsy feeling construction. For example: the jack where you plug the power cord into the unit wobbles a little. (at first I thought I had a defective unit because the power was cutting out every time the unit was moved. The problem as that I didn't have the jack pushed all the way in. It is deceptive because there is sort of a "detent" which gives you the feeling that the jack is pushed all the way in when it really is not.) I've heard that the power usage is pretty low so I will try using the transmitter two AA batteries for a while.

PS. One other thing; as with all radio transmitters you may have trouble sending signals through walls with metal in them such as aluminum siding, steel siding, stucco walls with wire mesh, or insulation with foil backing. I've heard that you can modify these to increase the power output by turning a screw on the circuit board. I haven't tried this because the signal is strong enough for me. Just realize that your warranty is voided if you open the case up. If you don't want to open the case you may want to try an antenna extender. The one I have is manufactured by Tecsun. I will post in the comment section later if it increases the range.

Want C. Crane FM2 Digital Full Spectrum FM Transmitter for MP3 Players, Stereo Systems, Radios, Laptops Discount?

Good product for the money. I would have given it 5 stars if the mod wasn't required. Once the mod was made it worked great in my whole house. Transmitter is located on the third floor of the house close to stereo equipment. I have no problems with a strong signal in the basement or outside on the deck. (Even gets a signal in the car out in the driveway.) Mod is real easy. Remove 3 screws and turn VR2 counterclockwise. Without the mod I could hardly get a signal 10 feet away in the next room. I think the product is designed to have the mod done. (Maybe an FCC limitation???) I would highly recommend the product if you plan on making the mod. I you do not want to make the modification I would not waste your time or money.

The C.Crane FM Transmitter 2 works splendidly. One misconception I had in setting up the transmitter was the notion that all digital transmitters and receivers mean what they say about the actual frequency. They don't. For example I had to set the reciever for 106.3 and the transmitter to 106.25 to give the best results for my application. When both trnasmitter and receiver were set to the 106.3, there was static and limited range. Yes, you may need to "tune" the transmitter to match your digital reciever. I suspect that this was the problem that other reviewers had with limited range. Also a good antenna on the reciever was a msut to get the best range in my application.

To find the best FM frequency to broadcast you need to find a place between existing FM stations in your area. I found the website which will list the radio station frequencies and their signal strength in a particular zip code. You simply put in your zipcode and all the AM and FM stations in your area will be shown in a table. To select an appropriate FM brodcasting frequency for your area cut and paste the list from the web site into a spreadsheet and sort by FM Frequency. Look for the largest gaps between FM station frequencies for the weakest signal strength stations and set your transmitter exactly halfway between those frequencies. This will assure the least interference from the big boys.

My application was to get music from the front of a dance hall to a receiver driving large speakers in the back of the dance hall some 70 feet away, which is just at the limit of the device according to the manufacturer.

Good luck.

Dave
