Cobra CPI1000 1000W 12V DC to 120V AC Power Inverter with USB Port
- 1000 watts continuous power with 2000 watts peak power
- 5 volt USB output for running and charging your electronic devices
- Direct-to-battery cables included
- 2 AC outlets
- Heavy duty construction capable of handling multiple loads
I picked this one for it's power and voltage display. It allows me to estimate the battery draw so I have an idea how long it will last. I also liked the USB power source, although I have not used that yet.
It does come with nice HEAVY power leads (with clips), although they are very short. Good enough to set right next to a battery and clamp on.
So far, no complaints or problems.

I have these in all 4 of my company's vans to run heavy duty continuous use machines. My old inverters would pop and I would have to turn them off and back on. If these surge it resets itself within less than a second and keeps on truckin. I had to install a solenoid for them to work correctly (my mechanic advised me to do that, I dont know the technicalities) because without the solenoid it wasn't drawing enough power. I have been very impressed with the quality and price of these and will continue to buy them.Read Best Reviews of Cobra CPI1000 1000W 12V DC to 120V AC Power Inverter with USB Port Here
Excellent product, I am using it to run my Directtv, automatic dish, TV, and much more. I am sure I am only using a small amount of its capabilities but works great.Want Cobra CPI1000 1000W 12V DC to 120V AC Power Inverter with USB Port Discount?
My first review of this product was not a kind one. I could not use a toaster or coffee pot with this device and chastised cobra for over stating the wattage capabilities. After many hours of work and upgrading to another bigger one with the same results, I wanted to rewrite my review. If you take this inverter or the bigger one, and put it right at the battery with the supplied clamps, it WILL deliver a strong output and make a pot of coffee with a normal toaster. Keep in mind a toaster and a coffee pot are pretty much a direct-short to a power supply since they are heating elements. There is no more difficult task for an inverter to do! Vacuum cleaners, all those things are easy compared to heating element type appliances. Anyway, back to installation. If you have the device RIGHT at the battery it will deliver as promised since there is a short wire and no voltage loss.BUT when I installed it under the seat of my RV with a top of the line amp install kit about 12 feet away, it did NOT deliver. It would beep and shut down. Even with the 100% copper wire, oxygen free stuff I used, it had voltage drop to make the inverter go below the magic level that makes it freak out. In my installation, I could NOT mount the inverter at the battery--there was not enough room. So long story short I put a second battery under the seat of the RV next to the inverter/ this battery only drives the inverter. Problem solved. works like a charm, but I would invest in the bigger one-if you can afford it. The voltage drop in the wire is very real issue. I am in the car electronics business and sell such things and it even amazed me and my co workers .
The bad thing to keep in mind, is that all of these converters have a cooling fan. You will hear this loud whirring noise while it runs. The fan has two speeds. If your car is running and it gets enough voltage the fan goes at low speed. BUT if your car is not running the fan is in high speed. Keep this in mind, you WILL hear this and it may make watching TV annoying. Install the inverter accordingly.
You do get what you pay for in inverters. If you were to step up to the more expensive brands of inverters that boast "sine wave" and "noise filtering" You will pay $400 or more and I bet they have less issue with voltage drop. But hey, you have to live within your budget.Tried several others before this one. main reason for purchase was for a PS3. Once I bought this one the PS3 worked... One caution though. If you use the old PS3 (fat one game play 200watts) the power required will or might give you feed back through the speakers in the form of a hiss. I purchased the newer skinner PS3(only 100 watts) and it was quite. Also I have seen several people use the 800 watt one and there are small lines of distortion from the alternator. This has an extra grounding terminal for chassis ground(below large ground) that seems to clear up this problem... Great product

Show N Go License Plate Holder - Fully Powered w/Remote
2. Because of above, when sitting inside car, you need to know how long it takes to deploy or retract the plate or you endup having it sticking straight out from car lol.
3. As it gets dirty from normal driving, the little cables slip and the guides drag more causing the plate to take longer to deploy or retract. If you live in a mostly sunny place or drive your vehicle on nice days only then this will likely not be an issue. Daily drivers beware.
4. Recommend always have it up to display your front plate and only stow it for special occasions like a show or car meet-n-greet. It just doesn't seem to have durability for daily use.I feel like I wasted my money on this item for my CV. Anyone with a sports car already knows that they sit low. A little hit from anything and the motor stop working. Second time I hit a piece of wood on the street and it just ripped it to shreds. SO, if you plan on driving like an angel then get it. If you don't.. don't get it.

I guess for the money this is ok for what you get.I would have been better off getting the manual one as mine broke a week after installing it.
The small wire that attaches to the plate bracket itself needs some sort of a swivel because as the plate comes out and up and then back down again it bends the wire back and forth and eventually breaks.

Bought a 2013 Corvette and, after talking to sales-dude, decided to get the "hidden license" plate bracket instread of having dealer drill holes in the nose for the stock bracket (besides, it looks ugly). Order placed with ProTrim on 9-DEC, received my kit on 11-DEC, so lovin' the fast order and shipment (yea, Protrim!). So, off to the dealer for installation.Problems encoutered during the installation, the cables which drive the whole works became twisted and came loose. Contacted "Greg" at ALTEC (manufacturer of the kit) for a replacement on 14-DEC. He took my address and said he would "get one out right away". I sent him email with same info. One week later, 18-DEC, no replacement bracket, so, I called "Greg" again. He acted like he never heard of me (not too surprising), but said that "we don't normally do that, we usually wait for the defect part to come back and then we repair it". Was this a "failure to communicate" situation starting? So, after a bit of cajolling, "Greg" said he would get one out straight away. Today is 24-DEC and still no replacement bracket.
Here's my plan of action: I've ordered a similar product from Mid America Motorworks, a firm specializing in Corvette performance and parts. I decided on the "manual" version of the license plate bracket after reading some of the older reviews.
After speaking to my mechanic at my dealer, who's installed many of this type of hidden plate systems (this was his 14th Altec product, 100+ of other makes), in his opinion the Altec "Show-n-go" is a problematic device as he has had issues with their quality along with lack of protection for the cable system and motor. In fact, it was my mechanic who pointed me to Mid America Motorworks and the manual hidden bracket kit.
Conclusion: In my not so humble opinion, "Greg" at ALTEC Products probably should not be in customer service since he doesn't follow through and this "mechanical marvel" should only be used on "trailer queens". Otherwise, if you have $130 to waste, send $70 of it to Wounded Warriors Project and take the other $50-60 and contact Mid American Motorworks for their manual hidden license plate bracket....or not.
I am returning this POS to the supplier.

I had to return this because it projected too close to the ground when mounted on my 911. Probably great for a less low slung vehicle.Friday, October 25, 2013

Gogo Surge Green Color USB Travel Kit with Car Charger, Wall Charger and A 3.5FT Flat Non-Tangling
- Includes a SUPER EXTRA LONG 4ft Green color Flat USB Cable.
- Compatible with iPad, iPod Nano, iPod Classic, iPod Touch & iPhone (All models)
- Charge your iPhone or iPod at home, on the road, or whenever it's not connected to a computer
- Nice Green Colored Chargers and Cable.
- The flat cable has more copper, which makes for better charging
The cable alone is worth the cost. I hope to find micro-mini flat USB cables in the near future that will work as well. This product is terrible. My apple charger takes less than an hour to charge my iPhone. This charger takes hours to charge. Do not waste your money. The flat sync cable is nice so you dont get the tangled wire mess but the two chargers i thought look and feel cheap. also all 3 peices are a different shade of green. Not that its a big deal they still work but just something i noticed. Also the charger does not lock into your ipod/iphone/ipad so if you pick it up while its charging the cable falls out. Also the picture description shows a stylis and something else but these two items do not come with it. So either the picture is off or i got ripped off.

12 Volt 7 ah Rechargeable Battery with F1 (.187") Terminals
These batteries last anywhere from 5-7 years in my experience. The battery here is precisely as described; my rating is based upon my last purchase of the same model, which was almost 8 years ago. The UPS red light went on indicating that the battery was no longer up to spec and I bought the new one. The price point here makes it a no-brainer to replace the battery rather than the entire UPS. One screw to remove the access panel and the battery terminals are designed to allow the wires to be slipped off easily. Just make sure you don't reverse the polarity straightforward with the colorcodes on the terminals.I bought this for my solar backup. I use it with a high lumen LED light for power outages. The battery works great and takes a good charge from the solar panel. I use a 15 watt panel with a 7 amp charge controller.

The battery received is not the same model as shown in the photos it is a UB1272 universal battery so is has a slightly higher 7.2 Ah rating (larger capacity) than the unit shown on the web site page. I have attached a photo of the unit supplied. It is installed as a replacement for a power failure backup system for a home alarm system. The battery as delivered was packaged very poorly. It was in a USPS bubble envelope, wrapped twice and taped with clear packing tape. I am shocked it arrived not leaking or broken but it arrived quickly and it appeared to work and was not damaged. One of the terminal protection covers (+) was loose in the package and smashed from the shipping handling. Its voltage level was 12.79 VDC and after only an hour of charging it was at 13.26 VDC.
This product is fairly priced and the vendor I received it from is eComElectronics. Aside from the packaging, which seems to be a common comment from the reviewers, the battery is installed and if anything changes I will update my review. Based on the price and delivery time this is a good buy.
Please look at my photos for the model and packaging.

World Travel Voltage Converter Adapter Kit 50-1600 Watt
At the low ('50W') setting, the converter uses an AC transformer to convert 220V sinusoidal voltage input to 110V sinusoidal voltage output. For low-power electronic appliances (such as battery chargers or portable DVD players) that are rated for 110V AC only, this is the safest way to operate them while traveling to other countries with 220V AC lines. One obvious limitation is that the appliance's power consumption must be under 50 watts (most laptop computer's AC adapters are rated for 90W or higher, by the way). If you connect a higher-power appliance to this converter, the transformer's iron core will become saturated. This results in runaway input current, which may then cause smoke or even fire.
At the high ('1600W') setting, the converter simply uses an electronic switch to 'chop' the 220V sinusoidal input voltage into smaller segments, such that the average power delivered to output load is reduced. This is the same principle used by most incandescent lamp dimmers. It works reasonably well for simple HEATING appliances, such as travel irons or hair dryers. However, if you try to power any electronic appliance that is rated for 110V-only at this setting, the high-voltage stress will likely cause the appliance to break down and burn out within seconds.
This is not to say that this product is completely useless, only that you have to be EXTREMELY careful about what you can plug in at each setting. Unfortunately, some appliances fall into the grey area between 'heating' and 'electronic'. For example, most people will classify a curling iron (hair straightener) as a heating appliance. Yet it contains electronic circuit and its power consumption is higher than 50W, which means neither high nor low settings can be used.
The good news is that most portable electronics (such as chargers for cameras, cell phones, laptops, etc) are already designed to handle universal input voltage. Check the AC adapter of your appliance to make sure. If it says "Input: 100 240V AC", then you don't have to use a voltage converter at all. All you need is a set of adapter plugs (such as the Travel Smart Polarized Adapter Plug 5 Piece Set), which allows you to physically plug into AC outlets in other countries, and you are good to go. In case you already bought this travel converter and adapter kit, then just leave the 'converter' unit at home and bring only the adapter plug set with you. Better safe than sorry.I thought I was doing myself a favor by saving money and buying a cheap converter, but I was severely mistaken! First of all, the converter itself does not plug in securely to the adapter. Secondly, whatever you plug into the converter does not plug in securely and hangs halfway out! Thirdly, after having the thing for three weeks, it exploded and died. DO NOT BUY. Go somewhere and spend the $20 or $30, so you can return it if you need to!

Bought this for a trip to Ireland. Thought I needed it for a hair dryer. As it turned out, I only used it to charge a camera battery.Plugged it in for one night on the 50W setting, everything looked normal and the battery was charging. The next morning the converter was dead. Couldn't tell whether or how much the batter actually charged. The converter never worked again.
Absolute trash.
