Pyle PLAM14 20 Feet 8 Gauge 1000 Watts Amplifier Hookup For Battery Head Unit and Speakers Installa

Pyle PLAM14 20 Feet 8 Gauge 1000 Watts Amplifier Hookup For Battery Head Unit and Speakers Installation Kit
  • Kit includes 20 8-gauge red power wire, 4 8-gauge black ground wire
  • 20 16-gauge blue remote turn-on, 20 12-gauge speaker wire, 20 right angle RCA interconnect audio cable conduit.
  • 6 black split loom cable conduit, AGU type 60A gold plated fuse
  • Water-resistant in-line fuse holder
  • 2 ring terminals\

The wire inside the thick insulation is maybe 10 or 12 gauge. The outer diameter is the same as a normal 8 gauge car audio power wire, however it's mostly insulation. Very poor quality wire. Look elsewhere.

I was very interested in this item given the price and everything it includes. But, what everyone says is right. The actual width of the wire is 8 gauge; but the wire itself is 12 gauge. You're paying for insulation. Also, the hardware is cheap and not durable at all. Save your money and get something else.

The kit is working fine for me now but it is more like a 10 gauge not an 8 gauge.

got the job done but i found out after the install that the wire isnt the claimed gauge. go to walmart and get their true-claim wires for about the same price. scosche is way better quality.

Kit seems good. Though the wires almost like they've been previously used. Testing could account for this, but snipping the ragged wire at the end isn't that hard. No fuse holder was included, contrary to item description. Ground cable was less than approximately 30 inches (4 feet in description), and is the same wire that is used for power. Indicated in description is 20 feet of blue signal wire. I received two blue wires, one is approximately 20 feet, the other is much longer. Speaker wire looks to be between 5 feet and 7 feet, falling way short of the 20 feet.

I did order a reconditioned kit, so I expect some deviation from the description. Deviation being the indicated missing manual, maybe fuses from a different manufacturer than a new kit, things like that. I did not expect deviations so wide from the norm. Whether these issues are from Pyle Audio or another seller, I couldn't say. But I'm fairly miffed about this.

I have not had the chance to install it, as I've been hunting down the other parts I will need to complete my install, but I will update my review once I do get it installed.

Motion Detect Car Dash Video Camera Recorder DVR

Motion Detect Car Dash Video Camera Recorder DVR
  • 2.5'' Big LCD Screen
  • Video recording with sound,Photo taking
  • High speed recording,Motion detect function,HDMI output
  • Real Time & Date display on video/photo
  • 3 file playback modes: On camera, on Computer, on HDTV

This camera had a good price, but it is a disappointment. Note that this is an older model; the latest models have an HDMI port and fewer bugs.

* Not 720p / JPEG encoding artifacts: -1 Star

The CCD in this camera is natively 640x480. If you choose the 720p recording mode, then the camera just does pixel-doubling in software.

This dashcam records to MJPEG files. You won't be able to read license plates or recognize most faces because of compression artifacts. The firmware lacks an option for changing JPEG quality.

* Stops Recording When SD Card Is Full: -1 Star

When the dashcam needs to rotate files on the SD card, it stops recording for up to two minutes, but an entire accident can happen in less than two minutes. The actual amount of offline time seems to depend on the speed of the SD card.

* Can't override poweroff: -1 Star

This dashcam always powers off when external power disconnects, even if the internal battery if fully charged. I want my dashcam to continue recording after an accident.

* Can't run from a USB Port / Can't be used as a webcam: -1 Star

Connecting the USB port puts the camera into disk mode, which means that you must power it from the 5v connector. You cannot power this dashcam from an in-vehicle USB port. You cannot use this dashcam as a webcam.

* Can't invert or rotate the video: Annoyance

The firmware doesn't have an option for changing the recording orientation.

* Can't change the recording overlays: Annoyance

The only overlay option is a timestamp.

* Nearly ideal form factor: +1 Star

The size and shape of this dashcam is nearly perfect, and it uses a standard threaded mount, like on a regular camera tripod. It is much smaller than the stock photography makes it seem. The built-in folding LCD is probably the best feature.

* Adequate performance in a variety of lighting conditions: +1

Sun flaring is minor. Quality is okay at night with street lights and head lights.

* Additional Notes

This camera records to MJPEG AVI with 8 kHz PCM mono audio. Audio quality is poor; you can't hear conversations over white noise while driving, and it is unlikely that you would get all of a conversation while stopped with a traffic cop.

Wake-up on motion detection is pretty good.

In standard quality, this camera uses 2GB per hour.

Power draw is less than 5 watts at 5 volts, so you can run this camera off of a car battery for a long time.

This camera seems to be running an embedded BSD. A firmware update could get me to add one or two stars to this review.

Buy Motion Detect Car Dash Video Camera Recorder DVR Now

I use this camera to protect myself from the lousy/agressive drivers in our area that seem to be growing by leaps and bounds. I have been using the camera for about a month now with an 8 GB card. Using the default video settings (mid range for capture) the 8 GB card stores about 3 hours of good quality video. The 120 degree field of view can capture the traffic lights even if you are at the stop line. Very Strong Sun Glare did not harm the camera although the objects were all darkened since they were all backlit. Night time capture is adequate based off of the headlights but don't expect daytime capture. (The IR cameras are described as not being able to go through the glass windshield so not much of an option.) The auto start/stop and auto rollover works as advertised. The products instructions are really poor. (I suspect that the unit is made in Russia since the only other instructions are in Russian, but so is the Mig-29!) If you want to change the defaults (e.g. I wanted a 15 min. capture window and setting the date.) You need to fumble with the buttons on the left first pressing MENU twice and then rec/snap to get the camera into the change mode and then use the buttons on the right to get the values to change. If you miss the right year you need to go past 2034 and then it rolls back to the start year. They need a definite rewrite.

I bought this camera to protect myself against reckless and aggressive drivers and liars in San Antonio, where most drivers don't have insurance and drunk wrong way drivers are # 1 on the list. This camera works great as described, very good video and sound recordings. Very recommended at this great price. The video was edited with Nero and lost some Quality, also if I cleaned my windschield before the view was much better, at the video you will see a vehicle turned to the right on red, and almost was hit by another driver. Just be prepared and protect yourself :-)

Want Motion Detect Car Dash Video Camera Recorder DVR Discount?

I bought this Car DVR recorder with fairly low expectations, both given the very low price and the very mixed reviews at Amazon. After a thorough test and break-in, I am positively surprised. I would recommend this as a low cost way to record evidence for unexpected cases where it is useful to replay the past accurately.

The DVR is produced by an unidentified Chinese company. It is surprisingly good for something that's made and designed in China. There is a flip-down LCD screen of decent quality that can be used for setup and instant playback. Opening up the small unit revealed a clean printed circuit board with just 2 chips: a Korean memory chip and a CPU chip of unknown origin. Control is through 6 buttons on either sides. Its not as convenient as a touch screen, but it does the job. The included suction mount was bulkier and less flexible than the one on the picture. This design does not allow mounting the using behind the rear-view mirror, so I need to look for some more compact suction mount.

The unit runs on it built-in battery power for at least an hour. This allows the camera to be used in the same was a a flip camera. Its small and light enough for use as a spy cam or on board of a model airplane. Plugged into the cigarette lighter adapter, the DV starts recording automatically when the car starts, and stops about 30 seconds after the ignition is cut. This is the desired behavior for a 'black box'.

The included manual is terrible, as expected. Special highlight is the final section "Small tip to save you big headache" which describes the many blessings of the reset button. The manual is not adapted for the different versions on the product, describing features that do not exist (such as HDMI output, frame rate selection, audio on/off) and omitting some useful options that are supported. Using some trial and error, however, its not too hard to find your way.

Video quality is indeed nowhere near HD standard. I could not see any difference in resolution between the 'XVGA' and 'VGA', so its best to stick with basic VGA which results in a 30% smaller files and a higher frame refresh rate. The camera sensor is likely the culprit. The lens is wide angle, producing a decent panoramic view with the usual distortion around the corners. Color reproduction is weak. Given the 'black box' application we don't care too much about that. Low light performance is passable. Though not HD, the quality is still better than the standard resolution camcorders of only a few years ago. Sound quality is poor, with lots of hissing, but conversations in the car are easy to understand.

The DVR performs decent image stabilization, which causes the movies to be quite smooth, even on bumpy roads. That is a very useful undocumented feature. Other undocumented features include digital zoom and a few image viewing options. The picture includes a date and time stamp for record keeping. The built-in clock turns out to be stable and accurate.

The DVR records .avi movies in segments of up to 15 minutes. There is only a short 1 second gap between the segments. The gap was a major complaint in most other reviews, but its pretty good on my unit. Apparently the new firmware improved this. Each 15-minute .avi file is about 720Mb which should yield about 11 hours of total recording on a 32G SD card before old files are overwritten. The LCD display shows the estimated remaining recording time, though the value is on the optimistic side.

Playback on the built-in LCD screen is decent. This feature could save your day, for instance instantly proving to a cop that you are not on the cell phone while driving. There is no fast forward, unfortunately, which makes it a pain to find the proper scene. Plugging in the unit in a computer mounts the SD card as a hard drive. The USB data transfer rate cannot keep up with the video bit rate in my experience. I am not sure whether this is caused by the SD card I am using or whether its due to the USB interface. Its not a big problem, as files can be copied to the PC for smooth playback. Playback on using video signal on a TV possible, but its just not very useful.

Overal, this DVR does the job for very little money. Compared to the other options (such as Itronics), it does nearly the same job and sports a built-in screen at a fraction of the price. It lacks HD and GPS, but neither of those are really essential for a car 'black box'.

Update May 2013 (1.5 year later): The dashcam is still working flawlessly, faithfully recording whenever my car drives. Same product now costs even less.

I have been using this for a few days now. First, it took them till the end of the 3rd day to ship it which caused total delivery time to be around 9-10 days. I received it and it is one of those Chinese drop ship items. It has a surprising range of features for the price, such as auto on/off and auto record triggered by power from the cigarette lighter adapter. When the sd card is full it will loop the record and overwrite the oldest files first. The built in battery allows it to properly close out the files when the power from the adapter is cut so, in an accident, losing power will not cause you to lose the current file; which may be the most important one. The unit I received did not have a hdmi port like the photo but the opening is still cut into the casing; found this after the inspection sticker fell off after the 2nd day of use. Playback is not possible on this device. I have used 2 sdhc cards which says on the box are supported; one Kingston class 6 4gb card and one transcend class 10 16gb card. Trying to initiate playback with either card results in "one moment" appearing on the screen followed by the word "one" disappearing leaving half of the "o" yet, nothing else happens(waited up to 5min). Occasionally it will indicate "fwd 1x" but still not play, pressing the up button sometimes causes it to display "bwd 1x" but nothing plays. In the whole playback attempt process it will randomly give 2-3mm wide vertical lines of distorted picture over the still image of the first video frame. Another thing to note is the video format of the files it creates are AVI. A 4gb card will give 2:20 hr:min of record in VGA format and 1:22 hr:min in D1 and SXGA. 16gb card increased the VGA to over 9 hours. When transferring the video files to your computer you better use a sd card adapter because the maximum transfer speed that this thing can handle is apparently 1 mb/s. The video seems clear enough to see what is going on in a wide angle area in front of you but is not sharp enough to read the license plate off of the car in front of you sitting at a traffic light. I have not used when fully dark but twilight recordings are good in detail except oncoming headlights cause moments where the camera is basically blinded. The video displays on the lcd so it is right side up when the unit is mounted with the lcd folding down when opened, with no option that allows you to change this if you choose to mount it in any other orientation; like mounting it to your dash with the lcd folding up when opened. Conclusion, it's much better than nothing at all in providing piece of mind, but you get what you pay for in the quality of the video and craftsmanship.

CAR CHARGER FOR Apple Ipod / Iphone 3G Series

CAR CHARGER FOR Apple Ipod / Iphone 3G SeriesLast night my new iPhone 3GS touch screen started acting up. Couldn't get sliding working and I couldn't hit any keys or buttons like attempting to hit "A" would cause "G" to be pushed. Couldn't power off, because I couldn't get the slide to work! Then realized I had the new power charge plugged in. I unplugged, and voila: everything back to normal. Obviousy the charger is running to high voltage or current

This charger is not coming close to my iPhone again!

Car charger and cable appears to work OK, but that is not much of consolidation if the regular charger blows up your iPhone.

The price on this item seemed to good to be true. Three different chargers for the 3G iPhone for ten bucks? Happily, all of the cables work as advertised, and I love not having had to pay $30 for ONE official Apple charger.

Buy CAR CHARGER FOR Apple Ipod / Iphone 3G Series Now

I have always been worried about buying inexpensive cables for the 3g iphone. You never know who you can trust. Well, I have used all of the cables that this comes with now and they all are working great on my phone. My only complaint is the bright light that is always on on the wall charger. I would say it would not make a good changer for the bedroom unless you were also looking to buy a night light.

I ordered this product. I only got a wall charger and a car charger. The wall charger only works sometimes. The car charger appears to work. However, I've not spent enough time using the car charger to say it works as advertised confidently.

Dissapointed in product and cannot reccomend. Should have purchased a higher quality product.

Milton 1260 Battery-Starter Charging System Tester

Milton 1260 Battery-Starter Charging System TesterI gave this Milton Industries model 1260 Battery Tester the lowest possible rating for three reasons: 1) poor load switching design, 2) poor calibration and, 2) poor Customer Service attitude (which reflects on the Company's attitude).

1) After having this tester for about a week and having tested 7 batteries the load switch failed. Removal and disassembly of this switch (after talking with Milton, see below) revealed that most of the internal plastic supporting material had severely melted. This was a DPST momentary rocker switch. It had no external or internal identification markings. Milton recommended replacement switch p/n: P10-2-1N from Toolsavings of Chicago. This new switch was similar but not exactly the same as the original part. It was identified as made by Arcolectric Corp with a 1551 part number. In Arcolectric's literature (see http://www.arcolectric.com/pdfs/RockerSwitches_199.pdf pp 26 & 27) this switch has a 20 amp at 24vdc rating. With the new switch installed I subsequently used the Tester to measure two different batteries while using a clamp-on DC Amp meter. I measured an average of 120 amps, or 60 amps per switch contact set (IF the load is equally distributed between the two contact sets). Conclusion: At least the replacement Load switch (and probably the original Load switch) is grossly underrated, by a factor of 1/3, for this application. Burnout of this switch is apparently a common occurrence since doing a search for battery testers on Amazon.com strangely also includes a listing for this 1260 switch.

2) I found that the analysis meter reads between 0.4 and 0.5 volts high (at 12.5 vdc when compared with three accurate digital voltmeters). This is an incredible amount of error when proper analysis requires a basic accuracy of 0.1 volt.

3) When I called Milton's Customer Service and said the Load switch quit working the person said "I must of had it on too long", i.e. it was the customer's fault for the problem. For each test I only had the switch on for the literature recommended 10 second test evaluation interval. If the company believes this is wrong then they should correct their written procedures. Additionally, I suggested that they could just send me a new switch since it looked like replacement of the switch would be an easy task, and that it would save us both time and money if I were to do the work. They wouldn't agree to do it that way, that instead I would have to send the unit back to them for warrantee service. Also, I found it interesting that none of the packaging or accompanying literature listed their phone number (toll free or otherwise). I had to find it by doing an internet search. Conclusion: This is not a customer friendly company.

Finally, in all fairness, I must say that I think that parts of the design are very good. The expanded scale meter is quite readable with clearly defined analysis colored areas. Also, the use of a separate set of wires within the two cables to the battery terminal clips is critical for properly measuring true battery voltage.

Dennis Barkley

Ret. Electrical Engineer

I had two Battery testers ,one was my old Snap On that I had for over 30 years , like a fool I sold it in a garage sale because I had bought a new MILTON 1260 tester, well after using the meter 2 times the load switch quit,a disassembly of the switch showed the little plastic contacts MELTED and the switch failed. Its funny that after using my Snap On all of these years Milton is saying that I held the switch on two long. The switch is under rated, a much heavier switch is needed, I will find my own replacement switch and repair it myself.IF I WERE TO DO IT AGAIN I WOULD NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT,IT HAS A VERY POOR LOAD SWITCH.

Had this tester for 2 years. Used the tester maybe a total of 10 times. After only minimal use the Load Switch failed. When I contacted Milton they we little or No help. Its a useful piece of equipment but rendered usless with a defective Load switch and Milton wanted nothing to do with correcting the problem.

I bought this hoping to power some low wattage lights and other low power equipment only to find that it does not even have a polarized plug! Who the heck puts a three prong grounded outlet on anything with a plug that is not polarized. I wish I had never purchased this item as almost all of my equipment has polarized plugs. I ended up going to the local electronics store and looking for one and sure enough there was not an inverter in the store that did not have a polarized outlet on it. I hope I can save a few others from making the same mistake I did by posting this review!

Buy PYLE PNVU500 Ultra Compact 240 Watt DC/AC Power Inverter Now

It does not have a polarized plug, it gets warm when working, and it is not 240 watts unless you count all the heat it puts out, and I would not recommend using it unless you are close by just in case it catches on fire.

I do use it with several new and old devices with non polarized plugs such as my AC cell phone chargers, my 50 year old lamp, and hard wired to many AC devices in my lab.

I am happy with my purchase, and 2 years later it still works and has never set anything on fire yet, but I paid $16 with free shipping in 2010, and it's not worth much more.

Equus 3300 Hands-free Digital Multimeterexcellent bang for your buck. has lots of features, instructions that help you figure out how to use the functions, an elastic band on the curved back to you can strap it to your wrist, and the clips that hold the leads are very smart. definitely recommended.

This multimeter is very easy to use. I really only needed it for basic electrical needs around the house so it has all the settings I use. It has also been very helpful installing new stereos in my truck and car. The quality seems to be good as well. I'd recommend it to any homeowner who doesn't have a multimeter and wants good quality, simple operation, and basic functions.

I bought this to use with my Arduino projects and I can't believe that I had lived without it before. The readout display seems accurate and the unit itself, while light, does not feel shoddily made. I ended up using electric tape to fasten two Breadboard jumper wire 70pcs pack to the two electrodes for easy use.

I recommend this product to any Arduino enthusiast as it easily handles any of the Voltage/current requirements for any project I have come across. The only thing to watch out for is the current limits this can take, you can't measure anything above 200 mA for more than 15 seconds. (please correct me if I'm wrong, as I haven't gotten anywhere near this limit)

Husky Liners Custom Fit Second Seat Floor Liner for Select Toyota Tacoma Models (Grey)

Husky Liners Custom Fit Second Seat Floor Liner for Select Toyota Tacoma ModelsVehicle: 2004 Tacoma 4cyl. Extended Cab

These liners are awesome. You get everything you pay for. Initially I thought about getting these and opted for a set of floor mats from somewhere else...I should have just bought them the first time. Liners are far superior to mats. These are form fitted for your vehicle. They look great and protect your carpet from pretty much anything. All you have to do is take out the factory carpet floor mats and place these in, that's it. I believe if you have a Tacoma with a center console (i.e. not a bench seat) you might have to make a small alteration to these mats. Wish I had bought these when I bought my truck. Crimestopper SP-501 SecurityPlus 2 Way Remote Start Paging Alarm System with FM 2-Way Rechargeable

Crimestopper SP-501 SecurityPlus 2 Way Remote Start Paging Alarm System with FM 2-Way Rechargeable LCD Pager and 1 Way Backup TransmitterI ordered this alarm system and having been a professional auto technician, found that the instructions were not always on target with regard to wiring it up. Even after contacting the factory technicians, I was sent by email a vehicle specific diagram which didn't quite coincide with wiring colors and connections. Getting return calls was slow and then some of the spoken instructions given incorrect. Following them has made the remote start of the system non-operational and further calls went un-returned as did the email sent.

This product is very good for the price, but it also depends on what kind of vehicle you have as well. Like I said before it depends on your car, because my remote start sometimes start and sometimes it doesn't. I would still recommend it to someone.

Keyless Entry Remote Fob Clicker for 2006 Toyota Sienna With Do-It-Yourself Programming

Keyless Entry Remote Fob Clicker for 2006 Toyota Sienna With Do-It-Yourself ProgrammingI purchased a used Toyota Tacoma. It had only 1 remote and the dealer was too expensive. I wanted a second remote as a back up. After doing extensive research I found this on Amazon for a new OEM remote. It arrived and was exactly as described, a brand new remote with instructions. I followed everything on the sheet and it works perfectly...actually better than the one I had even after replacing the battery.

Great product.

Keyless entry systems prevent auto theft and also provide staggering markups for dealers, who sometimes sell items like this for about $300. I'd just bought a late-model used truck that came with one fob like this, and wanted spares, so I bought two. Programming was a snap sure, you have to do something like put the key in, turn it halfway, push the button, stand up, sit down, and pick a bail of cotton to program them but it was so simple, even a Systems Analyst could do it. :-) They have worked flawlessly ever since. The dealer can charge whatever they want, but with prices like this online, they will not get much business.

I got this for my '06 Toyota Sienna. Absolutely exactly as described. It took less than two minutes to program it, with the VERY easy to follow instructions. I would recommend this to anyone that lost the original, or needs another.

I have to say the programming instructions were so bizzarre, I thought "you have got to be kidding me." But I followed them exactly and it worked. Who knew that opening and closing the car door, turning the key on and off, opening and closing the door, and whatever else was in the sequence would program the remote? I was about ready to click my heels together and say "There's no place like home." But don't knock it. Just follow the instructions and you'll be absolutely pleased.

More than that, I liked the idea of having a power source that could get re-charged by the power of the sun, rather than using a loud (and often unreliable) generator that required a supply of fossil fuel.

While you could put together a kit yourself (the "DIY" way) by using a solar panel, charge controller, deep cycle battery and inverter, I was intrigued by the seemingly complete Goal Zero Large Extreme 350 Adventure Kit.

A 30 Watt Solar panel would be sufficient to charge the battery in the power pack during a normal, sunny day. The Extreme 350 power pack was supposed to store 350 Watt of power and the different available outlets on the unit or the inverter offered flexibility to connect and re-charge devices via the USB port (iPhone), 12V DC port (Laptop with 12V power supply) and even 110V AC devices like a pump etc. Just what I was looking for.

Before I made the purchase, I checked with the folks at Goal Zero to make sure the unit was protected against over-charging and reverse charging (rather important features) and proceeded once I had confirmation.

When the unit arrived, I unpacked it right away and wanted to get it charged up.

A sunny day provided direct sunlight, the Boulder 30 panel was adjusted to just the right angle as per the instructions, both the blue power LED and green charging LED lit up and the LCD display started blinking the "20" symbol. That was it. The display didn't change for 2 days, but went blank when I unplugged it.

So I contacted customer service and was told the power pack was probably in a state of hibernation and to reset it by pulling the fuses out for a few minuted.

Not what I had hoped to hear, but I followed the instructions. Instead of the solar panels, I used the 110V power adapter this time to try to charge the pack and indeed, that seemed to work. Multiple symbols started to blink on the LCD display, indicating it was charging, and after a few hours, it looked like the unit was fully charged.

And indeed, the USB port now provided power to charge an iPhone, the 12V DC port was able to power my Laptop and the Inverter produced enough AC to power a 110V AC light fixture.

At the same time I had bought the Extreme 350, I bought a Goal Zero LED lamp, so I tested the unit to make sure it would power the light at least through the night.

So I connected the light (Goal Zero proprietary DC connector) and left it on all night.

By the next morning, the light was off and the LCD display empty, so I took it that the battery had completely discharged again.

Like before, having the solar panel connected all day long didn't get the battery charged up again, even though I tried the "pull the fuses" trick once more.

So the next night, I plugged the unit into the AC power supply again and let it charge all night. Apparently a really bad idea!

By the next morning, the unit was spreading the scent of rotten eggs, was very hot to the touch and some sort of liquid had escaped the case. The inverter was dead as well.

Not really the reliable performance I would have expected from a device that I had purchased for emergencies and needed to trust to work in such a situation.

Unfortunately I only discovered that Amazon has a policy of not accepting returns on this product, due to the HazMat nature of the battery pack, after this fiasco.

That's when it got interesting: I tried contacting Goal Zero for help with their broken product.

Sent an email early on Monday. No response.

Called on Tuesday and was on hold for more than 20 minutes before my call was terminated in a voice mailbox, where I left my contact details and phone number. Nothing though, nobody called me back.

Tried calling again on Wednesday and left my information. Again, nothing.

Finally, 3 days after that, I got a response to my original email. Answered the questions from their customer service rep. and waited.

5 days later a response from yet a different staff member with the same questions I had already answered.

After 2 weeks finally the statement "we'll send you a replacement".

Another week later, still nothing, so I gave up on goal Zero.

I have never seen anything as chaotic as this in my life. They must not have any structure or CRM in the customer service dept. at Goal Zero.

Ball dropped constantly. Left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing. Nobody ever called me back at the number I left and in all that time, they didn't manage to address my problem and replace their defective product. Customers must not be important to them. Or they are overwhelmed with warranty issues, I can't tell.

If it hadn't been for a friendly soul in Amazon customer service that understood the nature of the problem and replaced the unit for me, I would have been stuck with a piece of junk that had cost me a lot of money, with no real support by the manufacturer.

So thank you Amazon, your customer service is first class!

As far as Goal Zero and the Extreme 350 product, I hope my experience is an exception and not many more customers have to go through what I went through.

Problems with products happen. It's how a manufacturer stands by the product when problems happen and how they make it right with customers that experience problems.

And that's exactly where Goal Zero dropped the ball for me.

I have several Goal Zero products and I am thoroughly pleased with all of them. I use the Goal Zero 350 power pack to charge many portable devices and power my Traeger grill (requires power to operate). It takes a good while to charge this power pack with one solar panel. The solar panel that comes in the package is 30 watts and the power pack is 350 watt hours, so some simple math says that in perfect conditions it's going to take at least 12 hours of full sun to accomplish 0-100% charge cycle. I have several Goal Zero panels and string them all together (very easy to do with their products) and my power pack charges in 6-8 hours (winter sun angles and partly cloudy). VERY GOOD PRODUCTS. You have to understand the limits of a battery... You aren't going to be able to run really power hungry devices, but for what this is designed to do, it does it VERY WELL and is EASY to use. I wish they were less expensive, I'd be able to buy more and chain the batteries together.

I like this product and got it for use around the house to charge things like laptops cell phones and other portable electronics and as an emergency power source. I had considered the Xantrex Xpower Powerpack 600HD Portable Power Source which is a lot cheaper than the Goal Zero Extreme 350 and also more versatile but I wanted to try the 350 for myself. I like the overall design although the inverter could use some work. The inverter is annoyingly loud and when I received it it was cracked open, not broken just dislodged, I was able to snap it back in place but it's very cheaply made. I wish the extreme 350 had built in usb ports or all the ports were built in without having to attached the inverter and a quieter less annoying fan with maybe a heat sink to limit the fans usage. The 350 appears to be reliable and lasts as long as it is rated for based on continuous usage. I tested it with a device that uses 90 watts continuously and the 350 ran for about 3.5 hrs which isn't bad at all.

No instructions, manuals, or any connecting cable came with this unit. Solar panel has no connector, power invertor has no cable, unit is useless to me. Trying to contact amazon is worse than contacting the Pres. Even GoalZero has ignored my plee. Amazon, if you even read these, how bout contacting me or at least complete my order. Ps. Retuning item is difficult. Amazon has it listed as hazardous material. UPS delivered it.

Multi-Functional Auto Electrical Circuit Tester with LCD Display and LED Flashlight -- tests contin

Multi-Functional Auto Electrical Circuit Tester with LCD Display and LED Flashlight -- tests continuity, polarity, voltage, frequency, misfiresSince I watched one youtube cast on car repair I wanted to buy Power Probe III Eric the Car Guy used. In my opinion original Power Probe is extremely overpriced. I hesitated buying this one being afraid it's low quality chinese cnock-off. This tool here I don't know about the legal issues patents and so, has exactly same functionality (and bit more) at lower price, extremely well made, is aesthetically and ergonomically nicer than power probe (I think whoever designed the shape and look of power probes was thinking about brick on the stick).

I totally love this tester here. Backlit LCD, white LED at the end to see what you're probing, extender for the probe and power supply, soft cable, good grip. low current test light safe for electronics.

You have two LEDs, red and green. red one goes on when you touch +12 or the flying lead of something connected to +12.

Green one goes on when you touch the ground or flying lead something that connected to the ground.

Using rocker switch you can supply the probe end with +12 or ground. This way you can test activate different circuits.

Warning! You should know and understand what are you powering and understand how electricity works. Otherwise you seriously risk frying something. In experienced hands this tool is awesome, you don't need a mess of jumper wires to test circuits anymore.

Tool has built in 5amp self reset breaker when you power the circuit.

I can't comment on the misfire detection function, my cars are in perfect shape here. Frequency/rpm meter can't see where I might need it in the car, we don't adjust idle anymore but let it be. with the voltage threshold detection for example you might check for voltage ripple in case of the bad generator if you understand it again.

Bottom line five stars from me

The device is just what I expected, it is practical and reading of the screen is clearly visible, the length of the cable allows testing in the rear of the vehicle as the rear lights and fuel pump built light lets you see just those parts dark in the back. You can test the pulse of the injectors without damage to the ECU. I think a good general test device Electics system of the car and easy to use. It is great device

I am a professional mechanic. This tool is good. The only downside that I have with this tool is that is doesn't make a beep sound when touching a B+ or ground like the power probe does. With that said, I think the other features in this tool make up for that over sight. The KV spark test function is cool. The jury is still out on weather the rated KV's shown on the tool are accurate, but it will quickly tell you if a car has spark or not (only cars with wires, not cars with coils on plugs). If you in the market for a power probe you should really take a good look at this tool. I would consider this tool a bargain at double the price!

Side Post Battery Master Disconnect Switch

Side Post Battery Master Disconnect SwitchThis gadget worked fine. My use was to disconnect the battery when parking the car overnight because something in the car drains the battery. We have searched for years trying to determine what was draining the battery with no luck.

However, yesterday I found an equivalent device with the same design for $5.99 locally which is about one third of what I paid online (including the $7 shipping). The store is called Harbor Freight Tools . They have a bunch of locations around the nation and it would well worth the effort to see if there is one in your area before buying almost any tool.

First, the positive... sturdily built, comes with a bolt, a conductive washer to help make up for any gap at the battery or the cable and seems to work just fine after using a week.

I have a '97 Saturn that I've spent over a year looking for the short charging the battery once a week. I recently replaced the starter and the battery and decided I'd use this to stop the short when the car is parked. The way this works (if there is any other way, someone can reply to my review I thought I tried every reasonable combination) is that the provided bolt goes through the non-threaded end into the battery, and the negative battery cable is attached to the threaded end. I started to do so, it was super tight, so I got a good grip and worked on it. Well, the thread was just a little off. The battery cable had been put on / taken off a good 30 times in it's life so when the head rounded while trying to put this on, I wasn't that stressed and bought a few replacement ends, thinking they might fit better anyway.

That's when I really realized... it really doesn't fit. I DID get it to work (rounded another one of the two cable ends I bought) by force-threading it...

The good news? TIGHT connection, but be careful, you're going to have to really torque this thing, so be prepared if I'd gotten a better grip than just using an 8mm wrench to begin with I possibly could have made it work first round.

For those that need instructions from cradle to grave this doesn't have it. I have a 1990 Chevy K2500 with a slow battery discharge that I have never been able to find plus it sits for weeks since I seldom use it. The instructions for the install were accurate for me but I can see how some may get it wrong, cross-thread it or just call it junk. When you receive it there's a bolt & washer screwed into the threaded end. However, that's not where they belong and there's nothing in the package to tell you... so if you're not intuitive, or in a rush, you can easily start the install wrong. You need to remove the bolt & washer because they go in the other hole... the one that's not threaded. The threaded hole you just removed those items from is where the battery cable screws in with the bolt that held it in the battery. I'd suggest trying the screw in the battery by hand to see how deep the hole is and when it bottoms out. If the threaded hole on your battery is deep then attach the disconnect switch and, if not, use the washer between the switch and the battery to add some more spacing. I would suggest starting the battery cable by hand also because most of us can't cross thread anything enough to do damage by hand and once started use a wrench to tighten it down. If the bolt that comes with the switch fits your battery then, by default, your battery cable will fit the threaded end. If I have insulted anyone's intelligence on this please don't be offended because it seems some of the reviewers have tried to install this item without switching the bolt to the other hole.

This has also cured my battery drain issue and had I installed this earlier I would not have had to purchase a new battery. Once a battery drains down to the point where it won't start your vehicle, or barely turn it over, better start looking for a new battery.

This Side Post Battery Master Disconnect Switch is great and works exactly as described. That said, my application was for use on a lawn tractor with the standard smaller 12V battery used on most lawn tractors, so the fit was slightly different than on a standard side post battery. However, by using the same bolt used with the negative battery post, as well as the bolt supplied with the disconnect, the device easily mounted against the flat, negative post on top of the battery. With a simple twist of the knob, the battery is disconnected and ready for storage. Also, while mowing, the disconnect knob seems to easily resist loosening during the vibrations produced during operation. Very solid and dependable. Very pleased. Highly recommended.

The thread pattern does not match my truck's battery cable or Die Hard battery it has the right diameter but wrong threads-per-inch. It cross-threaded.

I returned this GAMA switch and bought the Moroso 74104 (not available at Amazon); the switch itself appears identical. The difference: the bolt is the correct thread pattern for the battery.

Battery Terminal Disconnect Switch

Battery Terminal Disconnect SwitchI installed this device on my Honda Fit to conserve battery charge during tows. It fit the battery post fine but the other end is too small in diameter for the disconnected lead wire. I bought a 69 cent half inch copper coupling at HD and it fit snugly on the switch and made for a good connection to the lead wire. I did hack off some of the coupling for appearance sake but I doubt it was necessary.

At first glance this appears to be s sturdy piece of metal, but trust me the looks are very deceiving. It is extremely brittle, and snapped apart on me before I could even get the thing fully attached to the battery. Just look at the pictures I will be adding shortly. They speak far louder than anything I can type here.

Husky Liners Classic Style Custom Fit Molded Front Floor Liner for Select Ford/Lincoln ModelsI'm giving this 4 stars because the product is good, but not perfect. I returned them mostly because I didn't read the description. They are floor liners not mats. They are hard plastic and not rubber, I wanted rubber molded mats. The fit was good but not quite perfect. I didn't like the way the lip came up by the door jam. But they are as described.
