I really like this unit. Unfortunately, there is some unresolved issue with VIA units not being able to activate the lifetime map feature update through tomtom. See discussion forum here: . Just wanted to give amazon customers a heads up to avoid this unit until tomtom resolves there issues. The customer support has a tendency to quicky close tickets they are burying their heads in the sand with this issue and not being honest with customers which is extremely annoying. My first experience with tomtom not impressed...

Since the review was written tomtom has fixed the map update issue. The only other complaint I would have is my mount broke early on. I can get it put together and working but then it pops apart again pretty easy.

Normally I don't write reviews,and certainly I'm not going to submit a novel here, but I do need to let others know what I personally think, especially given the two reviews that had a bad experience. Mine was terrific. Its a very solid, but lightweight unit. The integrated mount system is very elegant and it plain works. When collapsed, the device fits neatly into either a center console or a glove box. The cord is important as without it, the unit will not be able to predict traffic. There is a small knob on the cord that lives close (6-12 inches?) to the GPS when mounted, which is not at all obtrusive, but it receives a radio signal relaying traffic info. So the cord charges AND delivers important info. Pretty slick--so it doesn't add bulk to a nice thin piece of hardware. Gotta tell you, the screen is beautiful. 5 inches is just sweet. I used to have a much smaller one and I wasn't keen on a big unit, but boy this is nice! Oh, and it rotates! 90º or 180º, so it fits anywhere! All the relevant info, and you decide what else you want to show up. Totally customizable interface too. I could have sprung for the more expensive blue-tooth and voice activated gizmo, but that's not my style. Get me there, and tell me if there's a problem ahead and I'm a very happy camper. Last note. I did plug it into my computer and updated the device. Waited as I was supposed to, and then viola! All set and good to go. No issues. Enjoy!

Can't add a lot more than what Wolverine has already written, except to emhasize I haven't experienced any problems with my Tom Tom VIA 1500 unit. Maps updated in my first connection (several months ago) and it has worked flawlessly from day-one.

Once you've become familiar with it's menu structure it's easy to use and adjust to your specifications. It does a great job warning of traffic delays as well as offering alternative routes when it will save you time. I love it's big screen, how easy it is to attach to your windshield or to other surfaces and the ease it is to adjust it to the best viewing angle.

Owning a stand-alone GPS with these features (especially in comparison to those on many smartphones today) to me is a no-brainer. It's well worth the cost in consideration of the savings in time and frustration when you find yourself traveling to unfamiliar areas. No longer do I need to look up and print out maps via the 'Net! With regular use the Tom Tom has easily paid for itself.

I have five GPS units now and three are tomtoms, with the VIA 1500TM as my most recent purchase. The initial setup was without error and while sitting on the kitchen table waiting for update it immediately found satellites! I didn't expect that based on some previous reviews of this unit. I have used the traffic and red light camera feature and find the menu simple and intuitive. The screen is clear and the window mount works well. There is no advertising like other brands. And the website update works without a hitch. I am glad I bought it and perhaps I jumped the gun for it to be an X-mas present. Oh well!

GREAT GPS!! Updated after 5 years of using the TomTom One. What a difference in every respect. Great mount (no more falling off the windshield); swivel view; traffic indication; etc. Add to that that I paid north of $150 years ago for substantially less technology. These headphones are really nice. They offer a lot of cushion on the ears. They are adjustable to fit multiple ages. The carrying cases are a very nice feature. The best thing about these though, is the auto off feature. I was going through tons and tons of batteries with my old head sets. The Farenheit HP-11S turned out to have several potentially useful features although I wasn't able to evaluate them because my copy of the headphones worked only sporadically, and then only when within a few feet of the transmitter (less than half the range of the unit it was hoped to replace). Its fold-flat feature and the auto-off feature would have been especially useful in my situation. It was also fairly inexpensive.

I was unable to find any complete description of the product before I purchased it, so I discovered most of the unit's features only when reading the descriptions on the package. It would have been helpful especially for comparison purposes if more detailed info had been available while I was comparing alternative products.

The biggest piece of missing info was the unit's operating frequency. This made it impossible to determine whether the unit was compatible with my existing transmitter prior to purchase. Because the unit turned out (apparently) not to be compatible, it was not usable because it did not have an included transmitter of its own, and I was unable to determine whether any compatible transmitter is available for it.

Although I could not tell for sure whether my unit was simply incompatible with my transmitter, or if the unit itself was defective in some way, I suspect that most of the negative aspects here stem primarily from lack of needed info prior to purchase.

Power Bright ML1500-24 1500 Watt 24 Volt DC To 110 Volt AC Power Inverter

I've gone through three of these (via returns and warranty repair) and none of them has lasted for long. The first one operated perfectly for a few months, then suddenly it began to emit white smoke, the smell of burning plastic, and failed completely. There was no change to the load on the device, it simply failed. The replacement operated properly for a few days, then it began buzzing loudly. I suspect that the power it was putting out was not correct because some devices operated on the power it produced and others wouldn't. If it was put under any heavy load (200 watts) it would beep and show a red indicator light. The replacement for that unit showed an incorrect voltage on the display from the moment it was attached -showed 30.2 volts when the batteries were actually at 25.6 volts. It worked anyway for a few days then it's indicator light turned red, it beeped, and failed to operate.

Sadly a large number of these devices are defective in manufacturing or there's some fundamental design issue. Avoid these defective inverters. They are nothing but trouble.

shipping was great but that was all. I ordered to be back up inverter for a 13 foot refrigerator when I finally need it I hooked it up and worked nicely for seven days and then it went dead. The inverter light goes on to green but no power is delivered. I tried different things with this inverter and it will not work at all. Justj seven days of service is just awfull dont waste your money .

The unit does work and seems built pretty well but when I turn the unit on it makes a constant buzzing noise. My main gripe with this unit is,you cannot properly use a LCD tv with it. When you plug in your tv to the unit, your tv will instantly start making a unhealthy buzzing noise. It makes the noise even when you have not turned on the television. The tv will turn on but you can tell it is not happy. I will be returning the unit and buying a lower wattage more expensive Pure Sine Wave Inverter. I bought the Clarion Mind with this unit for traffic report in the Miami area. I get no signal no matter how I position the antenna south of 836. I get great signal if I am in the Hollywood / Ft. Lauderdale area. For my daily commute, it is useless since I do not get any traffic signal. Unit is easy to install and setup. Signal aquisition is horrible in my area, but it is not Clarion's fault.

I liked the ClarionMind and the docking station and would have kept it if the Clarion website was more user friendly.

I tried to register the product, but it only gave me 1/2 a screen and I could only register my personal data and not the product data...so I had to cancel the info and retry, but it would not allow...once you cancel, you may as well return the product, which I did...

I have chargers like this for other cameras, have the same design, and have functioned fine. This one arrived dead on arrival, not charging and no led. I took it apart to see its design, as returning it wasn't worth the hassle though I am sure I would have received a refund with amazon no problem. Not sure where failure is, visually its assembly looked ok. I found the np120 battery is a tight fit. Note that if you have another charger of this same design and same voltage specs but different battery size, the battery holder can usually be swapped. I was able to take the battery holder off of this one that failed and put it on another of the same chargers I have for a sony camera and it worked. See in the picture where it is rounded in both sides, if you pull down there, this is the part that holds the battery-it is modular and comes out.

I would highly recommend this product. I was on the hunt for a very long time trying to find the perfect FM transmitter that could accommodate both my iPhone and my Zune; finally, I came across this one. I am extremely pleased. The radio volume is set at '35' and the car is a 2005 Toyota Carolla driving at 75mph west along I-40 in Texas. (In the video, I pause the track, allowing one to appreciate the ambient 'background' noise present in the interior of a sedan cruising down the highway.)

Also worth noting, of course, is the fact that the video presented here is a Flash compressed video file of an already compressed video file (taken by a Motorola Droid RAZR smartphone) of an FM signal broadcast of an MP3 (lossy compression, albeit at maximum quality) file. So, if you're not able to form an opinion on the audio quality from the video file, you'll need to rely on my report: the signal is clear, and on par with what is received from commercially-available fm stations.

This product was purchased for a cross-country road trip, and it has performed extremely well. Internal battery life is great; as a matter of course, I charge electronics often in the car, but without being plugged in, the transmitter lasts for about 3 hours with no apparent loss of quality or "strength." Picking an open FM frequency on the car stereo is easy, but if you're driving in an area that is flooded with FM stations (Illinois, I think), you can expect the device (along with your car stereo) to really struggle to make a connection. So, the functionality of the device will depend largely on the population of FM signals being broadcasted near your desired frequency setting in your geographic location.

I have no complaints about the physical design, but it's worth noting that the product is very lightweight and certainly feels cheap. It performs well, though. So, I'd recommend not being too rough with it in order for it to enjoy a nice full life! The packaging is minimal and includes practically nothing in the way of documentation. (Then again, it's not a complicated device to figure out.)

I really did not expect a whole lot in this price range, and to be honest it does look "Cheap"!

However, it works surprisingly well and has a few nifty features packed into its tiny size.

It has a built in Li-ion battery that according to the specifications on their web-site, will last for up to 5 hours (I used it for three yesterday) it can also be used via the cigarette lighter plug if you simply switch it off, it then conserves the battery and also charges at the same time. To use it on the internal battery power... unplug the power cord and flick the switch to "ON"

The display is clear enough to easy see the frequency on it, the up-and-down-buttons will allow you to pick a frequency of your choice. The on-line spec's say you can save several frequencies though I have not tried that and don't see the need for it. There is a very slight hissing sound that might be audible to some though I would guess be acceptable to most folks, and depending what you are listening to, might not be audible anyway!

For the price, I am very pleased with it. I am not sure this thing will last that long, but I will do an update to this review if I think it is warranted!

Schumacher SAC-109 Male-to-Male Connector

Like other reviewers, the fact that the male ends only have one tension clip (every other plug I own has two) keeps it from staying in the socket securely. I thought Schumaker products were of a little higher quality, but it is made in china :-(

I bought this male-to-male Cigarette Lighter Adapter (CLA) cable for use with a Powerfilm F15-1200 folding solar panel/RA-9 Charge Controller setup and a small 12 volt lead acid Gel Cell battery during a 3 week missions trip to Haiti in June 2011. The cable worked to allow the connection between the panel's/charge controller's female CLA to the battery which I fitted with a female CLA. The problem I had was that the cable ends only have a single friction spring tension clip (or whatever that thing is called) to keep the plug in the socket. On the side with the Powerfilm panel/charge controller socket, it worked fine presumably because the socket was a tiny bit smaller than the the splitter I used or the female sockets I fit to the batteries. Perhaps these sockets are slightly too big, but the end of the cable that I stuck into the socket on the battery end would just pop right back out. It is pretty frustrating to set up your solar panel to charge a battery and leave; then come back hours later to discover that the end wasn't making contact and no charging happened all day.

To get around this problem, I add a couple small pieces of electrical tape stacked up on the side of the plug opposite the single spring tension clip. This gave enough extra friction to the clip and just made the plug "sticky enough" to keep it plugged in. With repeated insertion each day, before long the little tape stack would start to slide off and I'd have adjust or re-tape it.

If this cable had double tension clips like better quality CLA plugs have, this would probably not have been a problem. I could have not used this cable and just bought the male CLA adapter cable from Powerfilm ($), but it is easier to not have to undo their "marine grade" connectors to switch ends whenever I want to attach a little AA battery charger to the panel or just switch things around. This cable would be perfect if it would keep itself connected in the socket I stick it in without needing to rig it with tape.

When I first used, one of the terminal pins stuck inside the housing. I took it apart, the copper spring band had to be stretched out and I needed to resolder the cord to it before reclosing. Cheaply made, the pin still does'nt have much flex tension.

First, this item works. However, it has two drawbacks when using it for a small air compressor. The chord is short which makes it difficult to reach tires. Also, the male connectors do not make for a tight connection and tend to vibrate loose so I have to hold the end. It's OK for occasional use.

These seemed like a good set of ring terminals. But after getting them, they were too big and bulky. I ended up using copper lugs that I could solder wire into and even grind the rings down a little for a better fit. The craftmanship and machining of these is what caught my eye. However, the practical use for them was not very much, at least for my stereo setup. They're stuffed away in my misc. parts drawer with all my other connectors. I'll probably never use them.

This gave me everything I needed. Plugged into my outlet, provided some USB ports for charging and held my handheld in place. I used this for about 1.5/2months before it went south on me.

The part the bends in the direction you need had snapped on me when I had to rebend it into a different position. The material is some sort of bendy type metal. I think something better could have been used that wouldn't snap after a couple of repositionings. I'm not too upset about it. It was only a temporary thing for me.

Honestly though, if you don't change cars frequently or devices and plan to keep this in one to two positions then this will be great. Unfortunately for me it just didn't work out for me.

These are small connectors, made of thin gauge metal, and have a cheap plastic insulating sleeve.

They serve their purpose well. The crimpable section is short, which makes it a bit tough to get two crimps in side-by-side, but they hold nicely, and out of the 60 or so I've used I've had no problems. Some of the "tines" of the spades were bent over when received, but that takes about a quarter of a second to fix. They are light enough gauge to bend by hand.

Again, they aren't the cadillac of connectors, but for the price they are tough to beat.

I ordered 2 keyless remotes. They sent me an email saying they shipped. But the link to ship tracking indicated that the shipper never received the package. I've emailed them twice and called 4 times. I alway get told someone will call me back. they never do. These thieves basically stole $100 from me and have absolutely NO interest in shipping me the product that they took my money for.

Overall its a good product however after multiple uses and adjustments i can see the Ball and Socket will need replacement after probably a year. For our use it will work until the adjustment wheres out then we will look for another option.

The Travel and Car USB Chargers provide a great alternative to charging the Bluetooth Keyboard for the iPad. The wall unit provides the current needed to keep this keyboard productive. I would have appreciated smaller versions of both chargers. I think they are too large for today's restrictive airline weights and sizes.

In a car it will charger slower because it does not have access to enough power.

The 12 v Unit will not charge iPad. I get a "not charging" on iPad screen. Maybe this is just a defective unit.
