VR3 Wireless FM Transmitter for iPod and MP3 Players

VR3 Wireless FM Transmitter for iPod and MP3 Playersif i could give this 0 stars i would...it only barely barely works if you hold it up to your sterio's faceplate, and even then, the sound is extremely low, extremely muffled, and extremely static...it's barely even audible...you get what you pay for here folks, save your money and get a more expensive/higher quality fm transmitter.

Bought at Walmart because I wanted something to broadcast to my radio, bad idea. Almost never works unless its a couple inches away from the antenna. DO NOT BUY THIS!

I bought this at walmart thinking I was getting a good deal, but as the last commenter said, it is full of flaws, u have to keep on adjusting it around the faceplate of the radio, it sucks, Literally

Cons:

Needs to be really close to your radio to get good quality I need to put it in the cup holder RIGHT under the radio.

If it falls out of the cup holder, quality gets awful.

Lets you select one of 4 frequencies they're all quite popular for devices like this, and the power is so low that my music is often drowned out by that of someone else driving near me.

Pros:

Works acceptably well under ideal conditions. You get what you pay for.

The product is just what was promised on the box, nothing more, nothing less. I will rather have a transmitter that works with a larger range of stations or frequencies, I will also prefer a different type of extension cord, it seems like the jack extension is very delicate and will easily break If I drag it two hard, however is treated with care it perform it job very well. It is a good alternative if you need to invest in an economic product that performs a good job.

LOC8TOR Lite

LOC8TOR LiteConsidering the cost, I am disappointed in the unit. It has a very limited range and you get a false direction when you use it. I put it on my dog and had her go in the yard. When I turned on the unit it showed that she was in the front yard and not the back. Bottom line is you have to play with it for a bit when you first try to locate anything. The other bad thing is the range, I was VERY lucky to get 50' away and still have a signal and this was in an open space. It might be good for locating keys but for dogs or anything that moves I would not recommend this item. Replacement transmitters are VERY overpriced, they should sell for half of what they want for them.

My cat had been hit by a car and dragged himself into a crawlspace underneath an abandoned, foreclosed house, down the block in my neighborhood. He was hemorrhaging from internal injuries and unable to answer my calls with a meow, as he normally does. I believe he hid himself under the house in the expectation that he was going to die. This was the first time I had tried to find him using the Locator Lite. It was raining, as it has almost every single day this last April(broke the all-time record for rainiest April, even in Seattle), so I had to put a baggie around the locator unit to keep the water off.

After searching his favorite areas without success, I was about to go in, as the rain was coming down even harder. On a whim, I walked up to the busy street bordering my house to the west, an area where my cat normally doesn't go, and suddenly I recieved a signal, albeit weak, but a definite signal nonetheless. I starting rotating in the spot where I was standing, to get a direction, and then began following it. It pointed me diagonally north, to a location that was 2 houses north and across the street, again, an area where I didn't think my cat ever went, I thought maybe it was a false reading. I followed the signal until I was standing in front of the now abandoned house, calling his name, still no answer. At this point my "NEIGHBOR FROM HELL" came out and announced that my cat had been hit by a car, and promptly LEFT without trying to help me in any way.

I realized he must be dying underneath the house, the crawlspace was completely boarded up. I ran around desperately searching for a way to gain access. I found one in the back underneath the stairs and ran home to grab a flashlight. I shimied into the dank darkness, inside it was pitch black, even with a flashlight I could hardly see anything. Then a few feet in, out of my reach, I saw the flashing red light on his tag, as he lay motionless on the ground. Carefully and gently, I was able to get him out. He was still breathing, and attempeted a weak meow.

I jumped into my car which I had by brought to front of the house and sped to the after-hours emergency vet in my area (Five Corners VCA Hospital) which happens to have vets specially trained in veterinary trauma medicine. They gave him an 80% chance of surviving the night. Thankfully, my kitty made it, and will be enjoying his 8 remaining lives. I'm planning on building an outdoor cat enclosure, so this will never happen again and my Locator Light tags will be given a new homes (such as my cell phone and keys).

The negative commentary on the product made my wonder if I should keep it, as I live in a wet (Seattle) hilly area with a lot of obstructions. According to scaled maps I've looked at, my kitty was around 150 feet away when I picked up his collar signal. Maybe a few people received duds, or they didn't know how to use the product (I practiced using it in my living room before sending my cat out), and it worked when I NEEDED it.

Without it, I would very certainly have lost my cherished pet(who is now expected to make a full recovery)and not even had closure, as I would never even have known what happened to him.

My son wanted me to have this so we could locate my cat when he (the cat) was playing hide and seek and we weren't being very successful seeking.

This little locator works perfectly, on the "getting colder" or "getting warmer" principle.

It would work just as well for keys, or anything else the tag part could be attached to. The locator part, of course, needs to be put where IT won't be lost. (It is fairly small, like a credit card.)

This would be a perfect stocking stuffer for someone who keeps misplacing his/her keys, or even briefcase or purse.

This RFID tracking device was a replacement for one that was accidentally broken. I use it to keep track of my cat, Cleo, who is basically an inside cat but I allow her to ocassionally wander outdoors for a little each morning. She never goes very far but has been known to hide in the bushes around our house or our next door neighbors. The receiver on her collar flashes and beeps when I am in range. While I usually can't hear it, she can and immediately knows that I am looking for her and usually comes out of her hidden space where I can see her. If she doesn't, I can zero in on her very easily. The Loc8tor Lite is easy to use and the batteries last about a year or so. The receiver on Cleo's collar is very small and light so it doesn't add any weight at all. This device gives me great peace of mind when it comes to finding my very special cat inside or outside. The effective range is about 100 to 150 feet which has proven to be quite enough for her typical wanderings. I highly recommend the Loc8tor Lite to anyone needing to keep track of a pet or some other valuable object.

First impressions were good well packaged quality looking item. The tags looked substantial but the locator unit looked a bit flimsy.

The locator has a nice "soft feeling" finish and the tag buttons feel nice but the volume button is opposite the on/off button and that can be a pain. I do not know how long the battery cover will stay in place.

I setup the first tag and everything worked well but when I came to the second tag it would not register. I then tried to unregister the tag and reregister it without success. I then unregistered the first tag and tried putting the second tag on button one; neither tag will now register.

The instruction book does not contain a troubleshooting section and there is no "reset to factory settings" button on the unit. The manufactures website is of no help.

When setting up the locator up you get beeps and an LED light flashes; these do not seem to relate to what I am told will happen in the instructions. Although the unit has red, yellow and green LEDs to locate the tag it is only the one power on LED that flashes for every stage of the setup process.

In conclusion it is a good idea but I have lost faith in the item and have returned it for a refund rather than exchange.

  • Emergency Record Button, Sound Recording Button (High-performance MC)
  • Sensitive motion detection function, Auto Exposure Function,

To give this review some perspective, my tech savvy is about a 7.5 on a 10 point scale and this is the second dash cam I have used; the first was a Vacron Black Box CDR E-22, which I returned to Amazon (see my review) due to audio problems. I bought the LK 7900 on e bay for two hundred seventy one dollars, free shipping, and it included a power cord, 32gb SD card, GPS, a hookup for using the unit with the motor off (LK 290-12/24VT Auto DC Power Cut Off), a mounting bracket, wire guides and a manual.

3 stars for the manual. The ad said English manual, English firmware, English Viewer. The box contained a manual in Korean. Vendor said I need to go to lukashd.com and download and print the manual. Not good, but I did it. It reads as if it was translated from Korean to English by an app, and is in a very small font. Syntax and nuance are all screwed up and in many places it made no sense at all. The camera had Korean in its firmware, and the viewer was in Korean. Long, frustrating story short the manual, firmware and viewer were convertible to English (of sorts.) While I did not ask for it, the vendor (Green Sum)gave me a five dollar credit on my PayPal account for this.

5 stars for video. Using their SD (class unknown/undisclosed) and the default settings (except for time, which I changed to UTC-5 with daylight savings time on the US east coast), daytime video was excellent. License plates, road signs, advertisements, and inane bumper stickers were clearly readable. Night video was evaluated in a rural and suburban environment (none to very little public lighting) and was good; I could read the license plate of the car in front of me, and roadside signs. Using my SanDisk 32 gb class 10 Ultra, I plan to tweak the settings (using the viewer) to see if I can improve video quality. If I have a significant improvement, I will add it to this review.

5 stars for audio. Clear recording and playback. The mic is quite sensitive and will pick up road and wind noises if you leave the window open. It also picked up the noise of my engine running, however, that could be because I have a diesel engine. Overall, this clutter was partly avoidable (wind up the window), and not intrusive.

4 stars for viewer software. Easy to install in PC and use, but not explained very well. No way that I can see to change trip mileage from kilometers to miles. Video and Audio are also great on Win 7 version of Media Player. Replay using Lukas viewer or Win Media player on Win XP Pro does not work on my desktop PC, but this may be because I have an AMD 64 (Clawhammer) processor in this 8 year old homebuilt. Literature says it should work, but ...

Does not have a built in real time or in-camera playback viewer, like the Vacron and others. To me this is not a con. On-site replay can be done, if needed, via a tablet, using a card reader, and the screen would be much larger.

What got me interested in this specific device are the ISO certifications for the company, and the Sony chip. I took a chance buying it the way I did. I wish I could have bought it "Amazon Fulfilled" even if it cost me a few bucks more. So far, it is working out, but only time will tell.

May 12,2013

No noticeable improvement using my 32 gb class 10 SanDisk SD, day or night, after increasing camera settings. This device (Lukas 7900) is supposed to be able to use up to a 128 gb SD.

4 stars for the LK 290-12/24VT Auto DC Power Cut Off adapter. Hooked it up. Works great. See http://lukashd.com/eng/product_info/power_lock.html for a description and the manual. Minus 1 star because I cannot see how to change the running time setting, and the manual is so poorly written.

Good quality video and specs for high temperature operation were my primary reasons for choosing the Lukas LK-7900 HD ACE. This camera is spec'd to run at 80C (176 F). Another big plus is it uses standard lens filters. It ships with a UV filter which is mostly for protecting the primary lens. The package I bought included a 32 GB SD memory card and a polarizing filter.

The polarizing filter (CPF Circular Polarizing Filter) is really an improvement in the blazing Phoenix AZ sun. It is like sun glasses for the camera. But, to "set" the filter, you have to rotate the front part of the filter until the glare and reflections are removed. I tried moving the filter, record the results, display on the computer and repeat. It was time consuming and ultimately unsuccessful. The quick fix is a small LCD display and video cable to adjust the filter in real time.

No video cable is included. You need a 3.5mm Mono Plug to RCA Plug Patch Cable which is widely available. My local Radio Shack had some on the shelf. Also need a small display screen. Amazon sells a low cost screen at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006MPRFJQ/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The screen comes with a power cord with stripped ends. I soldered on a cigarette lighter power plug and it works perfectly. Note this display needs a video input before anything is displayed. So, with a real time display, I was able to set the polarizing filter in seconds. It is best to change to the UV filter at night. I'll only do that on road trips. Night time video is OK with the polarizing filter. Changing filters will be easy with the LCD display to reset the polarizing filter.

Interestingly, my camera was shipped by DHL. When I looked at the tracking details, it shipped from South Korea. The manual and audio language were in Korean. After finding the English manual online, changing the camera to English was easy.

The plastic mounting bracket comes with some 3M gel adhesive pads that are super sticky. There were three sets of brackets and adhesive pads in my kit.

There is an excellent technical review of this camera at http://forum.dashcamtalk.com/viewtopic.php?p=10375

So far, so good. I'll update after a summer in the Arizona sun and a road trip to Vegas.

O2 12V Bike and Car socket connector

O2 12V Bike and Car socket connectorCharging through the accessory socket, if you have it, is the easiest way to charge the battery on the 1999 BMW R1100S. This connector fits perfectly if you remove the red adaptor. Fit and finish are good on both the ends and the cable.

I had no issues with this adapter and in fact, I like the way it fits on my BMW power outlets better than the original one that came with my BMW charger. Quality item.

Griffin TuneFlex AUX w/Dock Connector for iPod

Griffin TuneFlex AUX w/Dock Connector for iPod
  • Custom-designed cradle hoilds iPod models with dock connectors secure.
  • Included cradle adapter holds the slightly larger 30 GB, 60 GB and 80 GB
  • Pass-through dock connector lets you add digital devices like Griffin's iTrip
  • Audio cable included to connect TuneFlex's built-in stereo line-out audio jack to car stereo's auxillary-in jack
  • Fits 5th-generation Video iPods, 2nd-generation iPod nanos via adapter

This product has been updated. Griffin has come out with the TuneFlex AUX 2 version. It is much better (see my review of it below)

TuneFlex AUX

-------------------

Plain and simple, don't bother with this product. It pales in comparison to the updated model. This model shifts around and isn't as clean looking as the new model. It also doesn't always charge my iPod Classic...which didn't charge properly for a lot of auto chargers (I tried about 5 different ones). Just skip this product and get the new version...it is worth the extra money. Read my review of the updated model below:

TuneFlex AUX 2 Review:

-------------------

This is a good product, probably the best auto charging dock available (I've tried quite a few). I own an iPod Classic 80GB (and iPhone 3G) and it charges and plays them just fine. The product arm itself is strong and doesn't move a bit. The holding dock itself (comes with a variety of docks for all your iPods) allows you to rotate it. This does move. It's stiff at first, but once you break it in it will start twisting a bit on a large iPod. Nano's probably won't budge at all. It's not horrible, it probably rotates about 10 degrees in either direction when I take turns. It usually goes back though, so it isn't the end of the world.

I will say the holders themselves, while there are many to choose from, really don't have much support for the product. There is no backing to them at all (except one which doesn't appear to fit my iPod classic, iPhone, or nano). No worries though, the iPod still manages to stay in place without a problem (and they ride in a Pontiac G8).

Overall, 4 out of 5 stars. If it was solid as a rock, I would give it 5...but it's pretty close. Again, if you own a Nano, this thing probably won't budge at all. The iPod Classic will rotate a little, but not much. If you don't want it to move at all, I suggest getting a Belkin TuneDok (goes in a cup holder) or a vent clip model.

Buy Griffin TuneFlex AUX w/Dock Connector for iPod Now

Okay, since I have only owned this for a week and it is already "breaking", it should get a 1 Star rating. However, there are some positives to it and maybe you will get one that holds up.

I wanted an iPod charging unit and had no need for the FM transmitter so I went with this unit. I have an AUX (auxillary) jack on my car stereo and you can't get any better sound quality from an iPod than playing through it. Plus, It was much cheaper than purchasing a unit with an FM transmitter.

PROS:

1) The Design. Flexible neck. Good height, about 8 inches, and it allows the unit to be easily moved around to not interfere with radio or Air conditioning controls. When I first plugged it in I thought "This is great. A good sturdy unit" I was wrong though...see the CONS.

2) the AUX jack. You can plug the mini-stereo cord into the front of the cigarette lighter charger plug and then into your AUX (auxillary) jack of your stereo. That way you only have to drop the iPod in and take it out. No cords to plug in and out.

CONS:

1) The plug for the cigarette lighter has a big rubber gasket on it to "prevent slipping". The problem? It only worked for about a week before the rubber would no longer stay stiff enough to keep the unit from swinging to the right or left and having the iPod hang upside down!!

I was very disappointed this product only lasted a Week and have now printed a return label to send it back.

I was worried that this might eventually become a problem. I just had no idea it would only take a week for the rubber gasket/cigarette port to start sliding. Just as a note, it does stay IN the socket, put it doesn't stay stationary (it swings/slides) so it is not a stable unit for my iPod.

2) The hi/low switch and AUX jack. I found my sound quality was louder and clearer if I plug the stereo cable in between the headphone jack of the iPod and the AUX jack on the stereo. If I plugged it in to the charger unit, on Low power, it sounded very muffled. On high power, it sounded "okay" but not as good or loud as using the headphone jack.

So, I am not getting back online to find an alternative unit. I'll probably have to purchase a 'fixed' position unit that also has an FM transmitter because that seems to be the majority of what is out there. We'll see.

Bottom line, I cannot suggest this unit to anyone because it doesn't function as described.

I just bought one of these for my wifes car too (a Nano version). We'll see if it lasts.

Read Best Reviews of Griffin TuneFlex AUX w/Dock Connector for iPod Here

I got this product after reading other reviews and was hoping that Griffin either did a silent update and addressed the high-pass/low-pass issues, but they hadn't. It's horrible and I have to plug my audio connection directly to the iPod (btw, I'm using the new Classic 160gb). My car's interior (Acura TL) is black, so it looks perfect inside + my black iPod. I connect it to my black cassette adapter, so the wire isn't really noticeable. As much as I wanted to get the comparable product by Ten Technology, it's nearly impossible to find.

The goose neck is pretty sturdy. I've used it for about a month now and it hasn't gone loose on me yet. For a video iPod, this is an ideal stand, it's not clunky like some of the other car adapters, and keeps your iPod video visible so you can see all your cool visuals. If i could find the Ten Tech connector, I'd get that instead, even tho it's not a cool black like this one, the audio (I hear) works perfectly.

Be aware, the description of this product says that it comes with a cassette adapter, however that doesn't apply to this bundle.

Want Griffin TuneFlex AUX w/Dock Connector for iPod Discount?

This device is ideal for the ones that have a car stereo with an auxiliary in jack. Most cigarette lighters in cars are at an easy to reach place. So the tuneflex will also have your ipod at hands reach. The sound is as good as it gets. It's probably the only device that combines reloading of the ipod battery with an auxiliary output. The only thing that bothers me a bit is more a flaw in the ipod design as it is a tuneflex flaw. The display light is to bright to drive with at night. Perhaps a tinted screen could fix that problem. I'll give the people at Griffin a hint.

I think this is the best ipod base, but in my NEON 98 it swings a little, thats the why to the 4 stars.

Great sound quality.

Very Safe.

Ultimately sold these because of the two piece design and the fact that they have no ability to hold water. It is good to keep the water off the carpet, but slushing back and forth over your feet isn't much better. A mat needs some texture.

ActiveTool Airman Cordless Multi-Purpose Air Pump

ActiveTool Airman Cordless Multi-Purpose Air PumpFirst let me say that I've had two Airman pumps for almost 8 years each. They have been reliable and handy saving me many trips to the gas station. Not to mention helping with other uses around the house since they come with multiple tip adaptors.

The nicad battery packs have since given up the ghost and no longer accept charges but in fairness they lasted longer than I expected for nicads anyway. I happily continued using the pumps with the included cigarette lighter adaptor.

Now my oldest pump is not generating any output pressure. Time for a rebuild. In the hopes that ActiveTools sold repair parts or at least offered a repair service I emailed ActiveTools USA directly.

No response. Not even after two attempts. Nothing, nadda, zippo.

Not even a redirection of my email "help" request to a different department.

I'm not completely surprised in this day and age. But I am disappointed because I specifically chose Airman (after much research) over several other cheapo, made-in-China, disposable, "use once and throw away" products. In fact, it was quite easy to find junk pumps everywhere and very difficult to find a quality pump.

You could say I got my moneys worth after all these years. But it's a shame to throw away a perfectly repairable product that has served me well for years simply because the manufacturer doesn't have their customer service act together.

I bought this hand held air compressor in the hopes that it would work in my unique application which is to be able to air up the drag slicks on the race car. And does this do the job in spades. I am very pleased with the results and am pleased with the battery life. It will not only air up you basketball/soccer/football in short order, but it will air up one of my race car drag slicks from 9 psi to 13 psi in about one min. or less. That may not seem like a lot of pressure change, but it is a lot of volume change in a race slick. It is very portable and can be charged from the wall or a cig. lighter. Am very pleased with this item and would recommend it with out question.

Scosche motorMOUTH Plug and Play Bluetooth Handsfree and Streaming Audio Car Kit

Scosche motorMOUTH Plug and Play Bluetooth Handsfree and Streaming Audio Car KitI have a Droid X and I was getting tired of plugging my audio jack cable into the phone and the receiver on a daily basis. I bought this so I can just plug it into my head unit, then stream audio over the bluetooth connection. This part works well and haven't had any issues with it.

The microphone thing, eh, not so good. When talking on it, I hear that people tell me that it sounds like I'm going through a wind tunnel. Maybe it's where the microphone is positioned, or maybe it's just the product. I thought the noise cancelling part of this device (dsp?) would fix the wind noises. Guess not.

The other thing is that it is true that you have to charge this before you use it. I have it wired into my car so that it's constantly charging. I always have it plugged in, so I never have to worry about it. Before being able to use it, I have to turn it on by hitting the button. My complaint here is that it would be nice to have it automatically turn on when it receives power. Then, have it automatically turn off when the power source is removed.

I originally bought it to stream audio to the head unit over bluetooth. Does it do it? Yes, and it does it well. The other things, I'm not so sure about, but it's not a huge issue for me.

I bought this to replace the usual in-car cable which I was using to pipe podcats, audiobooks and music from my Iphone to the dash stereo through the latter's AUX input. I didn't really care about the calls aspect, since I never make or answer calls while I'm driving ("Dude, I'm busy *driving*, OK? If it's that important, leave a frakkin' message!")

This unit *should* work for my purpose: It pairs easily, stays paired, and streams consistently, with no fuzz or breakups. The audio *quality* is comparable to the cable. Only problem: I have to crank up the in-dash unit's volume setting to the max just to hear the stream at a normal volume! I don't have anything like this problem with the cable. Using the cable, I can put the volume at 25 and listen comfortably; with the motorMouth, I have to pin it at 50 (that's the top end on my dash unit) to hear it at the same general level as the cable. And it's not like I'm testing the Bluetooth range; the Iphone is in a (Schosche!) plastic dash mount not 4 inches above the AUX input jack. Unless there's some kind of wild impedance mismatch between the mMouth and my AUX jack, I have no idea why the audio signal coming from the mMouth is attenuated so badly I have to jack up the volume so far. This is a total deal killer for me, since I don't dare use it; if I forget to crank it back down to a regular level before switching to the dash unit's FM tuner or a CD, I practically get blasted out of the car! $52.99 wasted; I'm back on the cable.

Buy Scosche motorMOUTH Plug and Play Bluetooth Handsfree and Streaming Audio Car Kit Now

This was a gift I received, and i was stoked abut hooking it up, since my primary use for it would to streaming my tunes from my cell phone. Hook up was simple for me, then came the testing of the motormouth II. Pairing it with my cell phone was seamless, no issues, once paired it remained paired. Streaming music pretty simple, worked lovely. Using the motormouth II to make and received phone calls was pretty good, not bad. Haven't got any complaints about noise while driving and talking.

Now for the cons, the battery charge doesn't seem to last very long at all, on light use, the USB style charger cable, is way to short, making placement options limited. The cable itself seems a bit cheap for a device price @ $70+.

All in all, this handy little device can solved some of your Bluetooth, music woes. On a chart from 1 5, five being the highest I would give this device a 4 star rating. Why?

1. Design/size could be better

2. Materials could be better for the price

3. Battery life could be much better

I was initially happy with my Motormouth II, but I soon found it was fragile. Simply plugging it in caused the plastic case to split apart. A little superglue fixed it, but weeks later, it ceased taking a charge through the supplied cable. A quick call to Scosche later, they sent a replacement cable free of charge. But THEN, the Motormouth would randomly drop the Bluetooth connection while in use. When you have to take your hands off the wheel and your eyes off the road to re-establish the connection with your phone, it kinda defeats the purpose of Bluetooth, doesn't it? To complicate things, the little red and blue lights that are supposed to tell you what it's up to are invisible in daylight, making it that much more frustrating to try to diagnose why it wasn't working half the time. Was the battery dead, or did it just have a random failure?

On the plus side, when it worked, it worked well, with good call sound quality and seamless switching from streaming audio to phone calls. However, some basic weaknesses with this setup are that you need to turn it on when you get in the car and turn it off when you get out (or the battery will die more quickly). Also, it will work only when your stereo is in the AUX input mode. If you want to listen to FM radio and automatically receive a Bluetooth call, no dice. In other words, if you're looking for the hands-off and forget-about-it convenience of a factory-installed Bluetooth system, you'll have to spend a bit more for a system that interfaces directly with your car's stereo and not just with the input jack.

Want Scosche motorMOUTH Plug and Play Bluetooth Handsfree and Streaming Audio Car Kit Discount?

It depends on what your intended use for this product is. I have a 2008 Chevy Avalanche LTZ with an AUX input jack. So this device is perfect as it is small, lightweight and out of sight, all while streaming my audio from my phone to my Bose sound system. Audio quality is awesome. I wasn't expecting much in terms of quality, but was pleasently surprised.

If you want this for a bluetooth calling adapter to patch phone calls into your stereo, you will be greatly disappointed. I can hear my callers perfectly, but have not received great feedback from those I have called. I get comments like "huh? What? Say that again? I can hear you, but can't make out what you are saying? Are you in a tunnel? etc etc. I have tried multiple calls, while driving, parked, parked with engine off.... Call quality is horrible!!

Pros: Bluetooth audio streaming, lightweight, easy to connect.

Cons: Call quality, battery life

Quick Cable 604050 WSL RESCUE Jump Pack 900 Model

Quick Cable 604050 WSL RESCUE Jump Pack 900 ModelI own a small car dealership in central Texas. The heat zaps batteries out here all the time. I saw a lot of great reviews on this battery box and that is why I went with it. It is a lot lighter than the one I have used in the past and still packs a punch. It holds a good charge as well. Jumped several batteries back to back with no issues. I would highly recommend this model.

I work for AAA and this is the jump box I use 5 days a week. It is very powerful and gets most every car started. The size is small for the power out put also. It is also very drop resistent. It would be a great product at twice the price...

Buy Quick Cable 604050 WSL RESCUE Jump Pack 900 Model Now

Excellent product. Well engineered, well made and no frilly stuff.

Best feature is it can be charged with any extension cord, no hunting for the right wall wart to charge it. Have not used it for jump starting but the 18Ah battery should work well for a car or pickup (probably not great for a diesel). Is very handy as portable 12V power source for low to medium loads. Simple LEDs indicate state-of-charge or charging status. A little on the pricey side but not having to deal with a wall wart makes the price worth it to me.

Bought two more for the company and one for personal use. Recommended.

Perfect to keep in the trunk in emergencies, don't forget to charge every once in a while though. Easy to use

Works great. I'm glad I bought it before my trip since I didn't have a laptop with me to charge my Zen.

I am extremely happy with this USB Power Adapter for my Zen MP3 Player. I can now recharge my player from any wall outlet, rather than having to recharge it from my PC. This frees me up to be doing other things while my battery is recharging. I absolutely love it!

OTC 3184 Professional Battery Charging/Starting System Analyzer Kit

OTC 3184 Professional Battery Charging/Starting System Analyzer KitI bought this tester because a client with several boat batteries needed their failure definitively documented for a warranty claim.

The literature claims the tester will operate with as little as 1 VDC, and there is no need to charge the batteries before testing. When I arrived on the client's boat, the batteries were at 11.85-12.00 V, which should be plenty to test the batteries. Not so. The 3184 responded with "Charge & Retest".

After charging to "Float" with the multistage charger, the batteries were at 12.33-12.46 V (low for fully charged batteries). The 3184 responded with "Good Battery" for each battery, based on the CCA being close to the factory rated value. The only problem is that the batteries are NOT good. They are rated for 198 Amp-hours each, but can only supply about 10% of that before the voltage drops to a useless level (11.7 V).

After much deliberation with OTC tech support, it turns out that the 3184 tester is not capable of testing all lead-acid battery types. My client has AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) batteries, and the 3184 gives erroneous results. There is no mention of this shortcoming in any of the (minimal) literature supplied with the tester, or in OTC's description of the tester on their web site. I actually found the problem in the online OTC catalog on a "compare features" page while waiting on hold, and the OTC tech support people were not even aware of it.

Thankfully, Amazon will accept my return. I am upgrading to the OTC 3167 tester, which claims to be able to test "All" 6-12 V lead-acid batteries, including AGM. Still waiting for delivery.

Since not much can be found online about this product I hope to shed some light on this tester.

The OTC 3184 is a conductance battery tester and not a load tester. This technology now seems to be the preferred method of testing the condition of automotive batteries.

Testing a battery on the bench is done by simply selecting the battery rating with the tester and then allowing the tester to run its cycle. The tester will display the batteries voltage, if it is good or bad, and capacity in CCA, a very nice feature.

Charging and starting tests are very simple. The starting test records the lowest voltage from the battery while cranking the engine. The charging tests measure alternator output while at idle, 2000 rpm and 1000 rpm with varying loads turned on or off (headlights, heater, etc). There is also a test for alternator ripple voltage, this is the test that can really save you a lot of headache.

Test results are very repeatable and seem in line with load testing results.

I think the menu system could be a little better, but that's my only complaint.

Overall, a very nice tester to have in your toolbox.

Nice and portable unit. Lack of division between starting and charging analysis. Doesn't always seem accurate, the guess work isn't eliminated. Couple of battery comebacks already. Made in UK

I purchased for work. I maintain diesels that have four batteries each, 12 volts each. It works on 24 volt, but our batteries are 1500 amps each. It has trouble reading the cranking amps of both batteries at the same time. I just remove the jumper between the two and test each one individually. I do wish it tested amp hour rated batteries. It only does CCA and similar.

Want OTC 3184 Professional Battery Charging/Starting System Analyzer Kit Discount?

Measures CCA, but not very good at determining if battery is chargeable or sulfated. Still it's much better than using a voltmeter to inspect batteries and it's relatively inexpensive.

RoadPro RPPS-16ES 12-volt Auxiliary Power Port or Outlet

RoadPro RPPS-16ES 12-volt Auxiliary Power Port or OutletI'm very happy with this quality of this lighter socket. It comes with plenty of wire so you can really mount it on a motorcycle wherever you want. My only complaint is that the spring for the cover is REALLY stiff. It be nicer if you could just hold it up and plug something in with one hand, but you need two. I never unplug the component I use it for, so it's not really a big deal for me.

What else can I say? It's a 12v Aux power hookup and does what it's supposed to do, it's well made, easy to install if you know what you're doing and the spring closure is good and strong. Plenty of wire for most applications. Just remember, if you want it to be fused, you need to either hook it up via an existing fusebox or purchase an inline fuse seperately.

I made a bracket to mount the power socket under the dash in my Tracker boat. The unit comes with plenty of wire and works great as a source to plug in my hand held spotlight. If you are handy with tools, you will be able to easily install this device. I used the under dash fuse block as a power source for the unit and connected it to an appropriate amp fuse.

The first time I inserted a plug into this receptacle it pulled out the inner metal sleeve when I pulled out the plug. For the price, it was not worth shipping it back so I just glued the metal sleeve back in place. Now it works fine. Not a great product but then again it isn;t very expensive either. I rate it "Ok for the price".

This socket is perfect for anyone looking to match this to a motorcycle. It come just as it looks in the picture and I cannot be any happier with the quality and shipping time. Easy to mount with the low profile plastic mount. The spring loaded lip is amazingly tough and tight fitting, I find that if you put it on a motorcycle that vibrates as we all know, the little extra pressure on whatever you plug into it keeps it from backing out and causing a false connection. BUUUUY it nowif you are looking to get something like this.
