Odyssey PC1200LMJT Automotive and LTV Battery

Odyssey PC1200LMJT Automotive and LTV BatteryI have used several Odyssey batteries. ALL have performed as advertised and they are the most reliable batteries so far. I always buy the largest, most powerful battery the space will accommodate and, in our climate of temperature extremes, alway a metal-clad battery. None has failed, used in motorcycles, snowmobiles, lawn tractor, cars and trucks. The extreme cost coupled with the extended life has always made these products a good value. The big bonus is the reduced servicing and replacement time.

This is my third Odyssey battery. I have installed a PC1750 in my truck and a PC1500 in my Viper. Both those installations went smooth a direct replacement for the stock battery.

So finally I got the PC1200 for my Mustang. I was expecting the install to be a breeze, but I was in for a total surprise: This battery does not have any hold-down tabs on the bottom. Unlike the 1500 and 1750 that both have tabs, all sides on the 1200 are flat! There's no way the Mustang stock hardware can secure this battery. Fortunately I found a simple bracket (Google "Metal Battery Strap HDS") that works with most Ford and GM style OEM battery trays and is only $20.

However, after installing the aforementioned aftermarket bracket, I stubled onto another issue: While the bracket makes sure to keep the battery in place in case of an accident, it does not prevent the battery from sliding around inside the tray. It turns out the battery glides rather easily because the bottom is not flat the metal jacketing is folded down the sides of the battery, creating a 1/2" wide "frame" and the battery slides in the tray just like if it was on furniture glides. Tightening down the aftermarket bracket hard would probably solve the problem, but this is IMHO a bad idea since the bracket might be pressing down on spots on the battery that are not created to withstand pressure and this may possibly damage the battery. I solved the problem by attaching an 8x7" piece of 3/16" thick self-adhesive Neoprene rubber pad to the bottom of the battery. This gives excellent friction agains gliding since the non-sticky side of the pad molds itself to the bottom of the tray (which is not completely flat) and the battery now sits rock steadily in place. Finally I'm completely happy with the install!

Buy Odyssey PC1200LMJT Automotive and LTV Battery Now

This battery is perfect for Jeep Wrangler TJ (1997-2006). It fits in the stock location without any modifications, utilizing the stock hold-downs no problem. The battery is actually slightly smaller than stock.

Since this is a sealed battery, it is great for off-roading, where a classic battery could spill due to extreme angles. And since this is a deep-cycling battery it is well matched for heavy electrical winch use.

A metal jacket gives an extra layer of protection to the tough construction.

This battery handled years of abuse in my jeep, and I replaced it with the same model.

2nd Generation Audio FM Transmitter and Car Vehicle Charger for the Cowon S9 - Uses Gomadic TipExch

2nd Generation Audio FM Transmitter and Car Vehicle Charger for the Cowon S9 - Uses Gomadic TipExchange Technology
  • Full FM frequency spectrum is available and is user selectable in 0.1MHz increments from 88.1 to 107.9 MHz. Advanced Digital PLL sound coding maintains stable and high quality sound.
  • Smart technology circuit architecture provides precision voltage and resistor regulation specific to the Cowon S9. Protects the internal battery longevity by modulating the charge in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Transmitters emit a powerful FM signal that is the maximum allowed by FCC regulation. Advanced signal isolation provides crystal clear sound quality.
  • A best-selling product from Gomadic Corp, one of the leaders in consumer electronic charging accessories.
  • Product is designed to last and is backed by our Gomadic Lifetime Warranty. Buy with confidence!

They shipped fast, it looks good, powers up and charges, but the signal is to WEAK.

I used this with my Cowon S9. It works, but not very well at all. The signal from the transmitter is way to weak, and there is still a hiss coming through from the radio's white-noise. I also have to turn the S9 to max volume / drive to get enough signal to the radio.

Very disappointed with Gomatic's Audio FM Transmitter plus integrated Car Charger for the Cowon S9 with Gomadic TipExchange Technology.

I certainly would -NOTbuy this again. Very disappointed !!

I don't care if they go to the 30th generation, I will never buy any of their stuff again. (I bought their 2nd generation.)

Don't buy this. Buy something with enough drive to get a good good clear and noiseless signal coming out your speakers. Make sure your device doesn't have to be wide open / audio drive maxed out, to get enough signal. Doing so, is pushing / driving your device to hard. Stay away from this Gomadic FM Transmitter.

Amazing Goop 3.7-Ounce Automotive Contact Adhesive and Sealant

Amazing Goop 3.7-Ounce Automotive Contact Adhesive and SealantThere is a large family of Goop adhesives, "All Purpose", "Automotive", "Craft", "Household", "Lawn and Garden", "Marine", "Plumbing", "RV", "Sport and Outdoor", and "Wood and Furniture" As far as I can tell, all are identical. Some varieties (such as Marine Goop) meant for outdoor use may be more UV resistant. So, at least for indoor use, I suggest buying the cheapest. In the local hardware store, "Household Goop" is usually the cheapest. At the time of this writing, "Plumbing Goop" is the cheapest on Amazon.

IN GENERAL

Goop will bond virtually any material, including leather, plastics, glass, and metal. The bond is clear, very strong, waterproof, and hard but flexible.

EXAMPLES

Examples are endless. In addition to the examples below, I've used it to repair ceramic plant pots and shoes. I also use it to seal rust spots on my dishwasher rack. The Goop it also makes a "cushioned" surface that will prevent scratches to dishes. I use Goop to close small holes in window screens. I've used Goop to seal holes in air-mattresses.

ELECTRICAL

Goop is far superior to electrical tape for splicing wires, re-insulating cat-chewed wires, waterproofing and vibration-proofing electrical connections. There is a black variety of "Shoe Goop" if you want your repair to be less noticeable.

PLUMBING

Goop is great for sealing small leaks (including garden hose connections, etc.). However, you have to turn off the water, and the connections must be absolutely dry. Moreover, it takes several days for Goop to dry to reasonable strength. If you turn on the pressure before then you will make a water balloon. It's better to wait a week. Moreover, it may take several applications to get a thick enough layer of Goop to hold against normal household pressure--so a sink, toilet, etc. may be out-of-commission for at least three days waiting for the Goop to dry.

SHORTCOMINGS

1) An opened tube thickens quickly. Store open tubes in a small glass jar with a tight metal lid. Old thick Goop does not work well for some uses (such as repairing shoes), but is perfect when you need a thick application--such as insulating an exposed electrical connection or to hold pressure in a leaking water line. It is best to start with a thin layer from a new tube to maximally bond to the surface

2) Until it dries, Goop flows, alot. Therefore a thickly-applied layer may dry to a very thin layer (because most of the glue has flowed somewhere else). So, it may be essential to apply several thin layers (at intervals of 4 hours or longer) rather than one thick layer. Alternatively, you can apply a thicker layer of old thick Goop over an initial layer of new Goop. If possible, arrange the pieces you are gluing to minimize flowing, i.e., usually horizontal. For several hours, depending on the temperature etc., the glue is "repositionable" after thickening a little, that is, you can push it back into place. Unfortunately, if you use too many layers or "reposition" the glue too much, the result is not as attractive.

3) Except when still tacky (when it can be removed with naptha or acetone), Goop is essentially non-cleanup-able. So, for example, while it might be terrific for fixing a leaking windshield, if you mess up and your application is ugly, there is essentially nothing you can do about it. Although Goop is terrific for repairing a broken ceramic statuette--if a little extra oozes out, there is no way to clean it up the excess. You could simply peel/rub-off excess silicon glue. You could simply wipe off "white glue" and clean up with a moist paper towel.

4) The fumes are strong and toxic. Allow glued items to dry in a well-ventilated area (ideally out-of-door) for several days. When doing alot of gluing, I work in my carport with a large utility fan blowing the fumes away---and still usually get a nasty headache. It is best to use gloves when working with Goop.

TO GOOP OR NOT TO GOOP

While Goop is truly miraculous--there are situations when other types of glue are better choices.

White Glue: For most light-duty indoor household applications which do not have to be waterproof, ordinary household white glue is much safer, cleanup is much easier, and in most cases repairs are redo-able if you make a mistake. For example: Elmer's All Multipurpose White Glue, 7 5/8 oz. (E379)

Wood Glue: Carpenters's wood glue is essentially water-proof (when dry) white household glue. It is much better than Goop for most wood repairs. It penetrates and strengthens the wood. It is much safer, and cleanup is much easier. If the joint breaks again (because the wood is weak), it can be re-glued. For example: Elmer's E701 Carpenter's Wood Glue 8-Ounce

Silicon Glue: Silicon glue is best for glass, and when you want a truly flexible connection (for example, to absorb vibrations). It is a better choice for general household use on glass, plastic, and metal when you do not need the maximum possible strength. It is safer than Goop, and cleanup is easier. Like Goop, silicon glue takes days to reach reasonable strength, weeks to reach maximum strength. For example: GE Silicone II Household Glue, 2.8 oz

Epoxy: When you need a strong rigid workable (e.g. sandable surface) adhesive, particularly for use on metal or hard plastic, epoxy is a much

better choice. For joining metal "J&B Weld" epoxy is best. Most epoxies dry with little running or shrinkage, and so are good for filling gaps. Fiberglass epoxy is best for joining/filling hard plastic. Epoxies are safer than Goop, and cure much quicker. For example: J-B Weld 8265-S Cold Weld CLEARBOND H-3S Clear Strong Epoxy Adhesive Syringe .85oz

APPLICATOR TIP

If you use the applicator tip, and do not use the entire tube at one time, much unused glue remains in the tip, which is wasted and clogs up the tip. If you plan to use the glue again within about a week, then jam an old unused (uncut) applicator tip over the one on the tube, and store in a small glass jar with a tight lid. If you aren't likely to do more gluing within two weeks, remove the tip and put the cap back on (and store the tube in a small jar with a tight lid) If it is necessary to clean out an applicator tip, then take it off the tube, let the glue dry for several days, then pull it out with tweezers.

CONCLUSION

Goop is one of those "miracle" products with a thousands uses, which needs to be a permanent part of any household. Other such items include silicon grease Permatex 22058 Dielectric Tune-up Grease 3 oz. painter's tape ScotchBlue Painter's Tape 2090-1E2, 1 Inch by 60 Yards, 1 Roll, and WD-40. WD-40 Spray Lubricant 16-oz.

Goop worked as advertised. Better than I thought it would. No problems to glue top to plastic panels. The repair was said to be "Not for the faint of heart" A little expensive but again it worked.

I used this automotive Goop adhesive to re-glue the flappy leather in my Infiniti G35 coupe, and it works quite well! It is a lot like rubber cement and rubs off easily if you use too much. So far it has held the leather back in place and has not yellowed or changed the leather. Just squeeze out a little on your finger and spread it on the area needing to be re-glued. Then press the material together and wipe off the excess. Goop is pretty cheap as well!!

Unfortunately this is not a well know product. I was led to it originally by an auto parts store. The employees all swore by it saying it had never let them down regardless of the use. I have found that to be equally true. It works great ( and fast ) for everything from glueing broken cornering lights to re-attaching roof vents. I even reglued the sole of my work boots and they never came loose again. It works on plastic, glass, metal and everything else. It is clear and thick and has no fumes that I noticed. I give this product my highest reccomendation. I just wish the company would have advertised it years ago.

GTMax Black 3.5mm FM Transmitter Car Charger for Google Nexus One

GTMax Black 3.5mm FM Transmitter Car Charger for Google Nexus OneI purchased the FM Transmitter Car Charger for the Nexus One phone.

I had problems with the item initially, and contacted the seller.

They were very nice and friendly and helped my replaced the product.

Although it took a while for the replacement item to reach me, there was a significant improvement.

However, although improved, there is still more static/feedback than desired.

But if you're on a budget, I think the quality matches the price.

Kat's 24150 150 Watt 4"x 5" Universal Hot Pad Heater

Kat's 24150 150 Watt 4'x 5' Universal Hot Pad HeaterI purchased several sizes/wattages of these hoping to find the right sizes for my snowblower and ATV engines. The trick is to find flat open spots on or near the bottom of the oil reservoir, clean it well, and stick the appropriate size of heater there. The instructions say DO NOT use gasoline or acetone to clean the spot, and you must believe it. The first one I put on I used acetone (I know but it's all I had) to clean the spot, and the adhesive does not stick well. On the others I used mineral spirits, and they stick like glue. They stink a bit when heated, but that is going away with use. I also used a 50 watt one to keep a bird bath de-iced, and it worked perfectly down to 5 deg F. No thermostat, so a good idea is to just plug them in a few hours before you use the equipment, or put them on a timer. But, they don't seem to overheat if you put the appropriate wattage on the appropriate size of reservoir and that's a guessing game. Five stars because they are inexpensive and do exactly what they are meant to do.

This works pretty well on the oil pan of my vehicle. It does not have a thermostat. It does need insulation on the back side so that it does not lose heat. I plug it in about 2 hours before I use the vehicle and it does the job of preheating. I also have one of these to keep our Moose pond thawed. The unit is submersible. So far the animals haven't eaten it. So you can use this item for a lot of things, but it has to be attached or submerged in something. It will overheat in the air, by itself. I rated it less than 5 stars because it is not insulated on one side and it does not have a thermostat.

Buy Kat's 24150 150 Watt 4"x 5" Universal Hot Pad Heater Now

put this on the oil pan of my 3 series bmw. i live in the warm south but keep this plugged in 2 hours before startup each morning. engine starts much healthier sound and 5 speed stick shift tranny shifts smoother in cold weather @ startup b/c the tranny case gets conductive heat thru the oil pan.

if you live in warm climate I would not reccomed keeping this plugged in overnight....it'd be a waste of energy and these get darn hot. I'll zap the exterior temps of my oil pan and tranny case and report back with the case temps from my infrared temp gun.

overall product works great. i did install with a bead of high temp silicon around the edge (after first cleaning the oil pan of grime with some type of solvent..acetone maybe).

Put it on a timer and let it run an hour or two before startup. its bound to reduce wear on engine. well worth the money b/c it costs mere cents in electricity.

UPDATE AS OF 12/2/2012 with the temps from a laser temp gun:

OK Here are the temps I zapped:

w/ no power to the stick-on heater

Ambient in garage = approx 68

Laser gun temp on oil pan = 68

Laser gun temp on tranny case = 68

Laser gun temp on lower block = 68

Laser gun temp on vanity cover = 68

OBDII temp from coolant temp sensor in head = 66.3

After turning on pad for 1 hour:

Ambient in garage = approx 68

Laser gun temp on oil pan = 94-86 depending on where I zap it

Laser gun temp on tranny case = 72

Laser gun temp on lower block = 78

Laser gun temp on vanity cover = 69

OBDII temp from coolant temp sensor in head = 68.0

After turning on pad for 2 hours:

Ambient in garage = approx 68

Laser gun temp on oil pan = 92.6-99.5 depending on where I zap it

Laser gun temp on tranny case = 75

Laser gun temp on lower block = 83.6

Laser gun temp on vanity cover = 70.7

OBDII temp from coolant temp sensor in head = 71.6

After turning on pad for 2.5 hours:

Ambient in garage = approx 68

Laser gun temp on oil pan = 93.5-102.2 depending on where I zap it

Laser gun temp on tranny case = 75.5

Laser gun temp on lower block = 83.9

Laser gun temp on vanity cover = 71.6

OBDII temp from coolant temp sensor in head = 71.6

I'm using this heater in Texas to warm up oil before short trips. So what do these numbers indicate to me? They indicate that the oil temp is at best climbing 30 degrees over abient temp. Thats not as favorable as I was hoping. I'm going to put another 150 wattt on the oil pan and see if I can get more heat to the oil before startup b/c short trips w/ cold oil is not good for the engine.

If you live somewhere up north where its cold and get snow then I would highly recommend the 250 watt pad if your oil pan holds enough oil. From what I hear a 250 watt will warm the oil and possibly provide enough heat to thaw snow and ice from hood and windshield. From kats I believe the specs on side of heater for a given oil capacity are as follows:

100 watt for 2-5 qts engine oil

150 watt for 5-8 qts engine oil

250 will for 8-20 qts engine oil

p.s. the silicon sealant I used was from auto parts store and it was black in color. the sealants have a heat rating on back and the black stuff was rated to 400 deg F.

This is a great product. I was having trouble getting my tractor to start in the cold MN winter. I bought this heater and stuck it to the bottom of the oil pan. I also bought the Katz battery warmer and wrapped the battery. From the day I installed them my tractor started like it was 80 degrees in the middle of summer. We had an extremly cold winter this year and my tractor started with no trouble everytime.

Want Kat's 24150 150 Watt 4"x 5" Universal Hot Pad Heater Discount?

I was looking at this and one of the magnetic heaters & wasn't sure which was best, so with both being ~$25 (where it's not like buying a car) I got one of each (figuring I may put one on a car and keep one for other uses). One of the places I wanted to be able to use them was on a small engine (like for a generator or snow-blower) and with those having an aluminum block (where the magnet won't stick) I got a steel plate ~1/8 thick I could bolt up to the engine base. I put the magnetic heater on the plate (without it on the engine yet) & plugged it in, after 1 minute the plate seemed totally cold still. I pulled the plate off and put my hand near the unit where it's base was warm, so put it back on. Apparently, the magnetic bars stick out enough that it leaves a 1/16-1/8 gap between the base creating the heat and the attached plate. So the heat either needs to "jump" the air gap or all be funneled thru the little magnet bars to get where you want it to go. If we're talking about outside temps of 20 or less where you want to warm an engine, trying to warm the air around it doesn't seem great to me.

So I then tried placing this "heating pad" unit on the same plate (after cleaning it as per instructions and putting a bead of silicone around the edge that needed to dry). With it plugged in, the plate is too hot to hold within 1 minute (and was at 200 degrees within 2 minutes). So it heats fast, but if you're not using it on something big enough to easily absorb all of it's heat you may have an issue with it NOT have any temp control (although they say it has such).

So my conclusion is if you want good heat transfer, the heat pad unit seems better with full contact. If you want an easy to slap-on or removeable unit, the magnetic one may work.

Just be sure to look at what you plan on mounting this on. If thinking of your oil pan, you want one that is smooth with no "ribs" or ridges and has a flat surface the size of this. They say to "use a roller to be sure of no air pockets under it" and if the pan has ridges or you try to go around a corner, you'll likely have issues with it sticking well. Most engine blocks don't have this big an open/smooth space for it, so oil pans may be the only good place.

Note: Both units say in the instructions "Don't place on painted surfaces because it'll damage the paint", so you want bare metal for either (even if it means striping off paint). Also if you're wondering "How do you warm a generator engine with power out (which is when you need it)?" I have a deep cycle battery & inverter that should work for ½ hour, then with the gen going I can recharge.

1999-2003 Mercury Sable Keyless Entry Remote Key Fob w/ Free DIY Programming Instructions

1999-2003 Mercury Sable Keyless Entry Remote Key Fob w/ Free DIY Programming InstructionsBy far one of the best if not THE best purchase I've made on Amazon. Bought a used 2000 Mercury Sable that did not come with remote key. Ordered this and got it 2 days later. Takes literally 10 seconds to program and everything works great, including the trunk release.

Great product. Ordered this early Friday morning got it on Monday. Took less than 7 seconds to program. The product feels well made and the instructions are simple. I only ordered 1 just to try it out, but i am going to be ordering a few more since it worked well with my car. I would suggest this to anyone needing a replacement key fob. It's cheap and well made. I have a 2002 Mercury Sable. Oh and the person that wrote a bad review you need to learn how to read the instruction's they are very simple even a 5-year-old could program it!!!!

Husky Liners Custom Fit Heavy Duty Rubber Rear Floor Mat - Pack of 2 (Black)

Husky Liners Custom Fit Heavy Duty Rubber Rear Floor Mat - Pack of 2The floor mat comes in two pieces and really does not fit well. The two pieces must over lap a great deal so it looks bad. Also, since they over lap it leaves one side open allowing water to leak out one end onto the carpet of the vehicle. Poor design

These didn't fit my GM vehicle well at all either even though they were a match. The mats were very rigid and where they overlapped in the middle my truck also had a small hump which made matters worse as far as fitment goes. I returned these and went with the OEM factory one piece rear all weather mat.

I park my cart inside a small shed, having mirrors for backing is very helpful. Using the cart outside the property lets me keep better track of cars.

Update 16 Mar 13. Just finished installing these mirrors. A tad tricky you need to remove the mirror from the base to mark the holes and install the lower bolts but NOT difficult. Just pay attention to the way it comes apart and reverse the order for re-assembly. The base is plastic to tighten firmly but not too tight or you might break the base.

The field of vision is VERY good and the mirror is clear and did not vibrate (making a blurry image). I'm even more pleased with my purchase.

Odyssey PC925MJT Automotive and LTV Battery

Odyssey PC925MJT Automotive and LTV BatteryDue to my excellent experiences with the Odyssey PC1200MJT Automotive and LTV Battery, I decided to buy this PC925MJT in 2007. I had inherited a nice running 1957 Ford "600 Series" tractor with the "Red Tiger" 31Hp engine. The tractor needed a new battery among other things, and was in fair condition. The engine and most of the 640 tractor originally came in red with a light gray hood and fenders. This battery is almost a duplicate of the same red, so that helped clinch choosing it along with its size.

The tractor had already been converted from 6-volt to 12-volt, and the PC925MJT fit the factory battery tray like it was made for it. Not only that, the battery has much more amperage than the original more than enough to spin the "Red Tiger" 31Hp engine.

The MJT stands for METAL JACKET TOP POST which was just icing on the cake. Having a metal case just protects the Odyssey battery much better from heat and other damage, and the top posts kept the battery looking more like a factory piece using OEM cables. Incidentally, my PC925MJT arrived with the posts but you may need to be more informed about that in this listing.

This battery is now five years old and never fails to easily start the '57 Ford. From my experience, these batteries continue on for many years with little care, and they never leak in any position I have another Odyssey that is eight years old and still going strong in a Pontiac Trans Am with a high-end amplified stereo system that really pulls some power. I have added the BatteryMINDer 12 Volt 1.5A OnBoard Battery Charger/Maintainer, Desulfator, Conditioner to all of my Odyssey batteries, and I expect these batteries will live many more years due both to my experience with the Odyssey batteries and the BatteryMinders.

Odyssey batteries are almost bullet-proof but then, they are military spec. Just get the right one for your application, keep the electrical and charging system working right, and the Odyssey will last longer than most could ever expect.

Just what we need for our 4 seater dune buggy. East to install, my husband was happy with the purchase

Starts my 6-cylinder engine with ease, year-round. Less than half the size & weight of my OEM battery. Hopefully won't leak, like my OEM battery did!

The long shelf-life means you should be able to buy this a bit in advance of when you think you'll need it (I wish I had).

The manufacturer also sells a range of mounting accessories, BTW.

I own a Honda S2000, and I was looking to relocate my battery to the spare tire location in the trunk. This relocation requires a battery that will never leak and does not require ventilation. This is precisely the flexibility the Odyssey line of "dry cell" batteries can provide. I have not completed the install in that location as of yet due to the untimely failure of the OEM battery, and the fact I needed a working battery without delay. The above mentioned custom install would take time I didn't have to complete, which necessitated using the 925 in essentially the OEM battery location. However, due to the fact the 925 was not the same size and shape as the OEM battery, I custom installed a commercially available billet mount (from West Coast Battery) and used it to replace the OEM battery tray. The engine bay install was very clean and will more than suffice until I have the time to install the battery in the above-mentioned intended location.

Starting power is great in the heat of the summer and cool temperatures of the fall and winter in North Florida and the battery demonstrates a clear advantage (for it's size and weight) over wet and some gel cell batteries in these conditions. However, the Odyssey does not have any advantage relative to weight when it comes to Cold Cranking Amps (CCAs). The battery is not any lighter than a wet cell RELATIVE to CCAs output (CCAs per pound). However, this battery provides more absolute cranking power per pound in temperatures consistently well above the freezing mark. The lack of a cold weather cranking advantage is one of two main reasons I rated this battery at 4 stars. If the performance was linearly above a comparable wet or gel cell in the CCA department, I would have been able to save about 8 lbs and gone with a smaller battery (and subsequently rated this at 5 stars). My car spends most of its time in Florida however, I do travel to colder climates and therefore had to go with the 925 to cover me in those environments.

In short I hoped I would have been able to go with a lighter battery, but unfortunately there is little weight savings for the cost if you need the CCAs. The battery does provide an advantage in that it has a lower center of gravity for my specific application and it is more compact than a comparable wet or gel cell.

Overall, the battery itself looks very similar to an aircraft battery (I'm a military pilot), and its construction is very solid. I don't think vibration will ever be a problem for this battery.

I intend to purchase a quality charger/maintainer to keep this battery in top shape. The Odyssey (OMAX) line of chargers is very expensive, but there are few alternative chargers that are approved for the Odyssey line of batteries. You just need to ensure the charger is on the Odyssey list of approved chargers otherwise you will kill this battery in short order. This would be the secondary reason I rated this battery at 4 stars due to the fact this battery requires a specific (and typically very expensive charger) to service the battery. The battery very likely will not need to be charged if you drive the car every day (and not mainly short trips). However, if this battery sits connected to a car that is not driven several times a week it will require an approved charger to ensure it does not die prematurely and to ensure the longevity of the battery. I recently bought the SOLAR PL2208 Pro-Logix 8 Amp Automatic Battery Charger from Amazon, as it was the least expensive approved (quality) charger available. This charger is rated at 8 Amps max, so don't expect it to charge a very low battery in short order though. However, it is $30 cheaper than the 12 Amp Odyssey charger and can charge more than just an Odyssey battery (unlike the Odyssey line of expensive chargers). In short it will more than just help maintain my Odyssey battery.

Why would you choose this battery (or this type of battery)? You need a strong battery for the size that can be located in an unventilated compartment or that will be orientated in a position that would otherwise prohibit the use of a wet or gel cell.

Is it worth the cost? For an every day OEM replacement No. For custom use (as mentioned above) Yes. Application is key.

they sent the wrong connector type, even though the order clearly specified the exact model of the phone. I purchased an OEM one from my local store that worked perfectly.

The product works and came fast. The car charger works very well even when used for long duration trips with a spliter. It doesn't seem to heat up either itself or the phone. I am very very happy with it.
