HTC EVO 4G Sprint Combo Rapid Car Charger + Home Wall Charger + USB Data Charge Sync Cable for HTC

HTC EVO 4G Sprint Combo Rapid Car Charger + Home Wall Charger + USB Data Charge Sync Cable for HTC EVO 4G SprintThey claim this is for the evo, but don't tell you that it's only 400 mA output. The evo requires 1000 mA. Total Crap.

The AC adapter is only 500mw output. Not enough for the Evo. Won't charge the phone. The car adapter and usb cable work fine.

I purchased this product after reading many of the mixed reviews. For the price, I just needed an additional car charger. The product shipped fast and the packaging was good. I expected the product to be cheap and may have some problems with the wall charger. To my luck, I have not had any problems like other customers with under powered wall chargers, phone locking up, and/or car charger not working. I want to thank all the customers that take time to post a review. The reviews assist me with my decision to purchase. I gave my review a 5 because I got what I paid for.

Want HTC EVO 4G Sprint Combo Rapid Car Charger + Home Wall Charger + USB Data Charge Sync Cable for HTC Discount?

Purchased this set for my HTC Evo 4G as a back up charger to keep one at work, home and in the car. Received the product shipment within the promised time, quicker than I expected. However; when I went to use the car charger, it didn't work. THe LED light was lit up, but the battery did not show an active charge. When I went to try the USB data sync/charge cable, my computed didn't even recognize the connection. Nor did the phone sync or charge. I did not attempt to use the wall charger and instead contacted the seller. They replied immediately, thanked me for my purchase and apologized for my inconvenience. I was offered a full refund which was applied back to the card used as the form of payment. Product wise, I wouldn't recommend this purchase due to my poor experience, however; the immediate response, recognition of purchase and refund was handled so smoothly I would consider purchasing from this seller again.

Medallion I Bluetooth v1.2 Hands-Free Speakerphone for Car or Home -Clip This on Your Collar, Shirt

Medallion I Bluetooth v1.2 Hands-Free Speakerphone for Car or Home -Clip This on Your Collar, Shirt Pocket or Car Visor!I was excited to be able to use this in the car so I didn't have to hold my phone but the quality isn't that great and the volume doesn't go up high enough so I only used it two times before giving up and just using the speaker on my cell phone.

The item works great when it works.

The battery is suppose to last a long time but does not even last 8 hours.

Ironically, it is so inexpensive that the cost of the device covers the value of the USB charger and the lanyard that are supplied with the device. Its like getting the bluetooth speaker for free.

Battery Tender 022-0157-1 Waterproof 12 Volt Power Tender Plus Battery Charger

Battery Tender 022-0157-1 Waterproof 12 Volt Power Tender Plus Battery ChargerI have many different vehicles and pieces of motorized equipment. Everything from a 50 ft long motor home with 4 engine starting batteries, to four Harley Davidson motorcycles. The common thread is that they all sit for extended periods of time, and they all have expensive batteries. I have tried all of the different battery maintainers I could find and I still keep coming back to Battery Tender. Aside from the terrific reliability, (not true for other maintainers), the best feature for me is the fact that all you do is plug the Battery Tender in and forget about it. Everything is automatic....this is important if the power fails. Other Battery Maintainers require that one push buttons to set certain parameters. The unfortunate side effect is that the charger will not work without the afore mentioned "button pushing" and your battery may be dead when you need it. Stick with Battery Tender!

Battery Tender Plus 022-0157-1 received as described. It is a compact size in a heavy duty, weatherproof case which makes it great for outdoor applications such as charging batteries on a travel trailer. Very easy to use...just plug it in and walk away. Consider getting extra wiring harnesses for other charging applications. Harnesses make it easy to plug in and charge batteries without having to hook up bulky clamps and cables. Would recommend.

This is a great product for protecting your batteries. I have used it for years on my TransAm, which I rarely drive, and my motorcycle. Motorcycle batteries usually last 4 6 years. My last one lasted 9 years. I have a friend who has a Z which he rarely drives; and during the time I had one battery on my TransAm he replaced his 3 times. After suggesting he get one of these 3 or 4 times with no success I finally bought him one myself.

Amazon's dimension specs for this say that it is almost double the size that it is. The actual correct dimensions are 5.2" L x 5.0" W x 2.0" H. The weight appears to be correct. This error can make a BIG difference if you are planning out the space for it before it arrives.

As far as the product itself goes, nothing but positive things to say. I know several people who use these regularly as well for classic cars that sit in storage and they all rave about them as well. I have been using to charge a marine deep cycle battery that I use to power a power-box for my telescope and equipment. It has worked perfectly and does an excellent job charging and keeping a charge on this when not in use.

Want Battery Tender 022-0157-1 Waterproof 12 Volt Power Tender Plus Battery Charger Discount?

I've used Deltran chargers before and they've always been a solid product. However, the discrepancies between their marketing literature and their instruction booklet, and the general way the instruction booklet is written, means that I can only give them a 4 star rating. Their website states, "any capacity lead acid battery." While the instruction booklet states "designed for six-cell. . . 1.2-200Ah," lead acid batteries. Not a big deal for most, but if you're looking for something to charge batteries in parallel (such as in a diesel truck or marine batteries), it would be good to know which info is correct. Which brings me to my next point. There's nothing in the official literature about using this particular charger to charge more than one battery at a time. I can only guess that if the voltage matches and the amps aren't exceeded, it should do just fine. Another issue is that the instructions only give the steps for hooking-up the alligator clips to the battery, however this unit doesn't come with the clips, just the quick-disconnect ring terminals. It would also be beneficial if they matched-up the marketing and instruction booklet technical specs to battery manufacturer specs. So, if the battery manufacturer recommends a max float charge of x, then state what the float charge of the charger is. This is a well built charger and deserves well written literature to go with it.

2nd Generation Audio FM Transmitter and Car Vehicle Charger for the Cowon S9 - Uses Gomadic TipExch

2nd Generation Audio FM Transmitter and Car Vehicle Charger for the Cowon S9 - Uses Gomadic TipExchange Technology
  • Full FM frequency spectrum is available and is user selectable in 0.1MHz increments from 88.1 to 107.9 MHz. Advanced Digital PLL sound coding maintains stable and high quality sound.
  • Smart technology circuit architecture provides precision voltage and resistor regulation specific to the Cowon S9. Protects the internal battery longevity by modulating the charge in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Transmitters emit a powerful FM signal that is the maximum allowed by FCC regulation. Advanced signal isolation provides crystal clear sound quality.
  • A best-selling product from Gomadic Corp, one of the leaders in consumer electronic charging accessories.
  • Product is designed to last and is backed by our Gomadic Lifetime Warranty. Buy with confidence!

They shipped fast, it looks good, powers up and charges, but the signal is to WEAK.

I used this with my Cowon S9. It works, but not very well at all. The signal from the transmitter is way to weak, and there is still a hiss coming through from the radio's white-noise. I also have to turn the S9 to max volume / drive to get enough signal to the radio.

Very disappointed with Gomatic's Audio FM Transmitter plus integrated Car Charger for the Cowon S9 with Gomadic TipExchange Technology.

I certainly would -NOTbuy this again. Very disappointed !!

I don't care if they go to the 30th generation, I will never buy any of their stuff again. (I bought their 2nd generation.)

Don't buy this. Buy something with enough drive to get a good good clear and noiseless signal coming out your speakers. Make sure your device doesn't have to be wide open / audio drive maxed out, to get enough signal. Doing so, is pushing / driving your device to hard. Stay away from this Gomadic FM Transmitter.

Vector VEC 024B 400-Watt D/C to A/C Power Inverter with Power Level Meter

Vector VEC 024B 400-Watt D/C to A/C Power Inverter with Power Level MeterI bought the Vector MAXX 400 watt inverter because it was about the highest wattage inverter available that still plugged into the cigarette lighter and I am not displeased. The unit comes with both a cigarette lighter cord and alligator clips which can be attached directly to the battery. These are color coded and connected to the unit by the user. I just leave the cigarette lighter cord attached as it still fits in the convenient hard-shell carrying case in that configuration. The unit has audio alarm for low power, a circuit breaker, and a fan which is not too loud.

I found it easy to use just hook up the cables, plug it in and run my stuff. I mostly use this to power a laptop running navigation software or recharge a cell phone and it works great. (I probably do not need this much power for these tasks but you never know when you will need the extra juice for other usage.) It powered the laptop on a 12 hour drive from Chicago to D.C. with no problems. I do use a surge suppressor for the laptop but that is just me and to the best of my knowledge, the Vector MAXX has never triggered the surge suppressor.

My only (mild) complaint is that the cords are a little short. Overall, I find it easy to use and pretty handy to have around. I recommend it.

This invertor works very well. It replaced a burned out invertor I have on a mobile emergency cart-based power backup. I live in the Sierra foothills where PG&E power outages are more frequent than normal. The cart has a 12v deep-cycle battery and two 400 watt invertors mounted on it. It easily runs a couple of CFL lamps and a fan for several hours.

I have a 5000 watt gas generator, but that is too much work for short duration outages and the mobile cart fills the need just fine without all the noise.

Buy Vector VEC 024B 400-Watt D/C to A/C Power Inverter with Power Level Meter Now

I was disappointed to read in the manual that you can only pull 80 watts when this unit is plugged into a cigarette lighter. Many cars have 15amp fuses on the lighter, which is 180 watts. I own two "smaller" inverters that deliver 150 Watts from the lighter. If the 80 Watt limitation had been mentioned in the ad copy, I wouldn't have purchased this item.

I bought this back in February 2006 in a local store but I'm glad to see they're still for sale. I've used it on every long trip I've taken since then and it has earned its spot in my console. I can't remember what I paid for it but $100 would still be a good value. Its great for camping and other situations where power isn't guaranteed. I've run and charged two laptops simultaneously off it with no problems. Friends and family ask where they can get one and I'm glad I can direct them here. Two issues are the fan noise is a bit loud and you can get feedback through the stereo when charging certain devices.

I had no real complaints with the functioning of the unit until it died (and I actually repaired!). I used it on occasion, not very often. However, there is absolutely no excuse for the way this unit is built. It's as if Vector wants the unit to be easily destroyed.

Who puts the protection fuses inside an Inverter casing and permanently solders them with heavy solder to an electronics board? The whole point of a fuse is to protect a component and to be easily replaced. If you saw the inside of this thing you would know Vector Does Not Want The Fuses To Be Replaced. You pop a fuse you destroy the Inverter! Perhaps it is an easy way for them to get paid repair service or paid swap outs.

Either way, whoever designed this thing was crazy. >Definitely Check The Casing Of Any Inverter You Buy And Confirm It Has External Replacable Protection Fuses< If it does not, do not buy. Too bad Vector, I modified the one I have so the fuses may be replaced, although still not easily. They may have changed this since I bought mine but I doubt it.

Tripp Lite PV1800HF Compact Inverter 1800W 12V DC to AC 120V 5-15R 4 Outlet

Tripp Lite PV1800HF Compact Inverter 1800W 12V DC to AC 120V 5-15R 4 OutletI had this inverter installed in my cargo van and just after a year it started giving me problems. I use it to mainly run an 800 watt microwave, laptop, and GPS. The inverter worked well then began to experience power loss. The unit remains on, but does does not give any continuous power output. Sometimes, the power output cycles on and off while still showing it is on at the switch. It is connected to a seperate high output battery of very good quality. I use it frequently, about 9 months out of the year. After 2 years now, I am still having problems with it. It is becoming frustrating not knowing if it will work or not. I haven't figured out any reason for it to act up. I am now looking for a new inverter. Maybe I just got a lemon. I expected more from a respectable name such as Tripp Lite.

A very reliable product! As long as you calculate the wattage of the appliances you plan to power off of this inverter and stay within a practical scope of its specifications you will not be disappointed.

Battery Tender 021-0123 Battery Tender Junior 12V Battery Charger

Battery Tender 021-0123 Battery Tender Junior 12V Battery ChargerIn the analysis of buying a Tender Jr. vs. a Tender Plus, the main issues are time to full charge, battery size, & parasitic draw. The Tender Plus (1.25) will get the job done twice as fast as the Tender Jr. (0.75). Both now are similar architecturally, save it be the charging power & lack of temperature compensation on the Jr. They both are 4 stage, both have the same sophisticated computer chip technology running the charging process, etc... I spoke to The Deltran(The Manufacturer) customer service department on 3 different occasions, making sure I had the facts right. The first 2 times I was misinformed about the temperature compensation issue. I am editing this review to be accurate as of today's date of 12/01/10. Because The Plus will bring a battery to full charge twice as quickly as The Jr. will, The Plus has a much better chance at overcoming a parasitic draw on your batteries power. Modern cars have sophisticated electronics that require constant power 24/7. Check all your battery connections & your alternator belt!!! If the connections are not clean & tight, clean it with original coca-cola and a rag / brush, make sure they fit snugly. If your alternator belt is too loose it will not charge your battery properly. If you only want to buy one Tender, don't cheap out, buy The Plus if you have the money to do so. If you want to buy 2 or 3 Tenders to make sure all your batteries are fully charged, the Jr. will probably do just fine. I personally alternate The Jr. between 3 different cars, if I had it to do over again, I would buy The Plus instead as I am not a patient person. Both models will turn off in 72 hours automatically if a full charge is not reached, & neither will start charging without at least 3 volts stored in the battery before initiating a charge. If you left your lights on for 4 days like I did, get a jump, & drive your car around for 30 minutes before hooking up any Tender to charge your dead battery. Either of these 2 Battery Tenders are the best in the world, don't bother doing anymore research, I have done it all for you. Buy one or buy both!!! I bought The Plus model a few months ago also... These babies save you $$$, time & frustration!!! Get the 25 foot extension if you want to charge a car that sits in the driveway, it's only $12. You might also want to buy the Cigarette Lighter Apapter to charge cars that have the battery in the trunk, like the BMW E39 models.

I bought my first Battery Tender Jr. about 20 years ago (for an antique car that I drove infrequently) and it worked fine for over 15 years. I included it with that antique car when I sold it, and as far as I know, it still works.

Based on my prior experience, on November 4, 2010, I bought another Battery Tender Jr. from Amazon for another infrequently driven car. It is now less than 1 year later, and that Battery Tender Jr. got so hot that the plastic case buckled and separated at the seam. So, planning to return it under warranty, I read their terms. Not only do I have to pay to ship that defective unit back to Deltran (which I expected), they also charge a fee for "Warranty Evaluation, Shipping & Handling"! That is OUTRAGEOUS! Since I have my receipt, my fee would be only $7.95 (if no receipt, fee is $11.95). It would cost me $18.90 ($7.95 plus $10.95 USPS Flat Rate medium box) to return it (or $22.90 if I didn't have a receipt which is more than the $21.39 cost of a new one from Amazon delivered!) Why bother with a warranty claim? If that was Deltran's plan from the outset to discourage warranty claims their so-called "warranty" is a fraudulent misrepresentation.

No doubt that my first, 20-year old Battery Tender Jr. was made in the USA. Not so with the second one the label says "Made in China". A piece of Junk!

Buy Battery Tender 021-0123 Battery Tender Junior 12V Battery Charger Now

The battery Tender Jr. comes with 1 set of permanent mount ring terminals & 1 set of mini jumper cable clamps so you can hardwire 1 car & use the clamps whereever they are needed. The 1-way quick disconnect on the cord makes things very easy to hook up & unhook. And it is maintaining my battery fine, no more dead car.

Great Product. I needed a way to keep my minivan battery topped off during extended idle time because my electronic rust protection device was draining the battery. This product does the job beautifully! The only trouble that I ran into initially was that the charger would not start charging because my battery voltage had dropped below 3 volts (this is a safety feature built into the unit). Once I got the voltage up above 3 volts (by briefly attaching jumper cables to another vehicle), it charged just fine. It took a few hours initially, but now I keep the battery connected while the vehicle sits in the garage.

2.5' Screen HD 720P Car DVR Driving Recorder With IR 10-LED Night Vision/Cycling Recording/AV OUT
  • Uses 500W HD camera lens.
  • Night vision function.
  • Automatically records once the engine starts.
  • When the memory is full, it will automatically cover the previous files

The folks at Alldaymall contacted me shortly after I had ordered this product:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00919ZNQM/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00

telling me they had just sold out of that particular camera, and asked if they could substitute an alternative. I figured something like this situation would happen eventually (since they had only one of that item left in stock), so I said "OK". The substitute was the camera I'm reviewing now. I was a little disappointed that an English language operating manual wasn't included (the only manual was in Chinese, I think), but since I'm a very technically-minded, hands-on kind of guy, I started pressing buttons to see what did what. It didn't take long to figure out how to operate the camera (about 30-45 minutes of trial-and-error) and get the battery charged. It has several resolutions available, from VGA 640X480 to 1080 FHD on the movie camera side, to VGA 640X480 to 12 MP on the still images side. There's also a setting to flip the display 180 degrees, if you use the camera "upside down", and so many others I haven't used yet. It's a definite learning curve...if you press the setting wheel too soon, it defaults to the main display, and so forth. As mentioned, trial and error and about 45 minutes of tinkering, and you'll be operating this camera in no time flat. I've not yet used it in my car, but I plan to at some point, just to test it's capabilities.

It comes with an in-car mount (a heavy-duty suction cup for attaching to the windshield), an RCA video cable to connect to a TV or DVR, a USB A to micro USB cable, and a 12v car adapter. You can also use it as a webcam, if you're so inclined, or a USB mass storage device (although I had some trouble mounting it as the latter...I suspect my computer not recognizing any USB device over 8gb as the culprit). It'll take up to a 32GB SD Card, which, on the lowest resolution settings, will give you over 400,000 still images or over 5 hours of video. It's also night-vision capable, given the array of 10 IR LEDs on either side of the wide-angle lens. With the LEDs turned on, you can see about 30-45 feet in total darkness (about average for night vision devices). Turning them on takes a bit of practice...press the power button once to turn the camera on, then a brief press of the power button will turn the LEDs on or off (the display will indicate when the LEDs are on or off). The display itself is rather small...no more so than an average LCD camera, so it really isn't an issue.

I've not yet tested the battery capacity, but I suspect on battery power alone, actual use times may vary. I tend to use things like this connected to an inexhaustable power supply (such as a LARGE battery, a car charger, or other means), since batteries are so unpredictable.

I plan to tinker with this some more over the next few weeks, so we'll see just how complicated (or easy!) this camera is to use "in the field", as it were.

In closing, I'd like to ask a favor of the fine folks at Alldaymall Please include an English-language manual, or offer an English-language translation of the included manual with your cameras from now on. The directions on the back of the box are not very informative. Thank you!

Stanley Ll1000 Li-Ion Battery Jump Starter

Stanley Ll1000 Li-Ion Battery Jump StarterOrdered Stanley Model LI1000 jump starter 3/7/12 and received unit 3/9/12. Spent weekend unsuccessfully attempting to charge it and then found that Amazon doesn't accept returns on this item! I then called the manufacturer, Stanley, and they expected me to pay shipping charges to repair an item that they released as defective. Then I called Amazon and was promised an immediate replacement--the "brightest" spot in the whole transaction. We'll see how well the replacement performs. Incidentally, they directed me to dispose of the original unit as I see fit.

The only one like it that I could find,

So far this booster pack has only been used a handful of times, but it has not failed me yet. I charged it up immediately when I got it and it sat in the box for months before the first use. I used it to jump start a 2002 3/4 ton GM truck with 8.1 liter engine. The truck's battery was totally flat. This booster pack was connected to the truck and I pressed the button to start the boost process (note that this will only boost for a short period of time before you need to push the button again safety feature I guess). I let the booster pack "charge" the truck's battery for a few minutes, and then hit the key. Viola! Truck is running. The built in LED light on this pack is also handy for night time operations. I am very pleased with this so far. Time will tell if the Li-ion battery will last longer than the dry cell packs in all the other booster packs I have owned,

GSI Super Quality Mini Universal In-Car USB To Cigarette Lighter Port Rapid Charger Adapter - For A

GSI Super Quality Mini Universal In-Car USB To Cigarette Lighter Port Rapid Charger Adapter - For Apple iPod, iPhone, Cell Phones, MP3/MP4 Players, CD/DVD, Gaming Stations And All USB Devices

  • Plug USB Cable Into One End, And Adapter Into Cigarette Lighter Plug
  • Small And Compact, Great For Traveling Without Computer
  • Constructed With Quality And Precision, A Notch Above Standard Aftermarket Devices
  • Note: USB Cable NOT Included - Use Your Own Cable

I bought this to charge my Zune in my car. I liked the small size and price, but it doesn't work. The fit in the cigarette lighter is extremely loose; the charger slips out whenever the USB cord is removed which sucks. I don't know why, but my Zune won't even charge off of it. It doesn't recognize that it's plugged in. The overall build of the thing is cheap (which is expected), so even if it worked it wouldn't last long. There are better options here on Amazon.

Kinetik HC1400 - 1400 Watt 12 Volt Power Cell Battery

Kinetik HC1400 - 1400 Watt 12 Volt Power Cell BatteryThis battery by far is the best battery to use if you are using high voltage power not only from your factory equipment but allows you to hook up additional items as well and not put any strain on your vehicle. I had the yellow optima battery before but this batter blows any style of those batteries away.

I have a 2000 watt Hifonics amp cea certified at 2000 watts so I actually have 2000 running through my subs and this battery fit perfectly under my hood but then moved it in the trunk as a second battery. I've never heard such a big difference in clarity and loudness because of a single item, this battery is small and packs a punch. Don't ever buy a capacitor for over 500 watts just buy a Kinetik battery and you'll be hooked for life. I upgraded this battery just a few months after purchase for the 1800 more suited for my system.

For the size, they should be able to output a little more CCA but if you're using it for an audio system or a lowrider this type of battery would work great. If you have a lot of space in the trunk, there are a few other options if you want to go bigger. I think they look great for your show car too! (Kinetik, you wanna sponsor me and get me a set of batteries for my show car?!)

So i have a 2002 Gmc Sonoma i have air ride suspension on the truck so with 8 valves, 2 vi air compressors, and my Kicker sound system the Optima red top just could not hang with my truck. Well this power cell is a beast... Would recommend to anyone that needs serious power or just an amazing battery. Also i received it from Amazon very quick and nicely packaged.

Wagan EL2537-5 Twin USB and 12-Volt DC Cup Holder Power Adapter

Wagan EL2537-5 Twin USB and 12-Volt DC Cup Holder Power Adapter(2008 HOLIDAY TEAM)The Wagan Twin USB/DC Cup Holder Adapter is a very good value. Considering that I paid the same price for a single USB car lighter adapter, this is a great value. It's conveniently shaped like a cup-holder, with the added benefits of 2 included DC adapters and 2 USB adapters. So far all 4 adapters work perfectly.

This adapter definitely sits lower in my cupholder than what I was expecting. It looks taller in the product picture, but expect it to be just above flush with your cup-holder. If your car has two different sized cupholders, one larger than the other, this unit is designed to fit in the smaller standard size. For me that is the cupholder further from the control panel and closer to my center arm-rest.

The unit has four LED indicator lights so you can judge how many devices can be charged with it. This "Battery Level Indicator" feature is a nice extra, with "HIGH," "MID," "12V" and "LOW" indicators.

The product package indicates this unit works with standard 12V and 24VDC accessories. Apparently there's a fuse inside the unit in the event you over-use it, though I haven't yet had the fuze go on me.

CONSIDERATIONS

There are a few shortcomings to the product, all of which I would consider minor. First of all, the lighter cable is relatively short. That's ok if you are plugging it into the DC outlet on your control panel. Many newer cars also have DC outlets within the arm-rest console storage area. I found that the cord was just barely long enough to reach down into my car's storage compartment and be plugged in. That means for some vehicles, like larger cars and SUVs, it might be too short. The deeper the storage compartment, the more likely you are to have trouble using that DC outlet to power this adapter.

The two DC adapters are very deep within the unit, almost too deep. For many DC powered car accessories with shorter plugs, it seems like it might be possible to push them in too far and lose electrical contact.

The other minor negative was that the USB adapters are not perfectly parallel. They are separated by metal but the USB pins are embedded in tabs made of some kind of composite material. You have to carefully insert USB cables because if you don't you risk damaging your connector or the adapter.

CONCLUSION

This is a good unit even if it isn't perfect. Considering the price and the fact that the product performs as advertised, I still recommend this over most others I have tried. It's worth it to have a few extra adapter plugs available to charge your accessories and electronics in your car.

Enjoy.

I really like this device. I have Sirius and a GPS so it gives me 2 sockets. The USB power sockets are good for powering or charging my cell phone.

Easy to use stays where you put it in a cupholder highly recommended.

Our new Subaru Tribeca amazingly had no DC outlets anywhere on the dashboard, instead hiding them in the console. We needed access to the jacks for the handsfree cellphone speaker and occasionally the GPS. This device fits in one of the cupholders next to the console and the power wire with the plug slips inside the console. We've been using it every day for 3 months now with no problems.

This item would be great if it worked, but my USB circuit blew out within a few days of plugging it in, before I even had a chance to use the USB sockets. I smelled burning insulation but didn't associate it with the converter.

I think many (all?) of the folks who are complaining about the LEDs being nonfunctional don't realize that they are reading the charge state of the CAR battery, not the items that are plugged in. If you look at the small instruction sheet included, it says that it's showing the functioning of the car's charge system when the car is running, and the charge on the battery 10 minutes after the car is shut off (but with the starter switch in the 'accessory' position. Quite useful for finding out what kind of shape your battery is in before the cold weather hits, as even a mostly-dead battery will start a car OK in warmer weather. This little item saved me a tow.

At least the 12V sockets still work. I wish I had tried it out when I first got it rather than wait a couple of months I wasn't able to return it for a refund.

2&1/2 inches diameter on the bottom, chamfered

3 inches diameter on the top, also chamfered

2&1/2 inches tall

Cord exits the back of the unit 2 inches from the bottom, no strain relief.

Cord length is 39 inches

Lighter plug is 3&3/4 inches long, including the stiff strain relief.

Nice surface for gripping the plug when pulling out the plug, but for me I wish the plug was smaller or right angle... I'm not going to be unplugging it. Due to the short length of the cable, and the big plug, I directly wired a socket extension cable to my car's accessory wiring to avoid a big plug in my center console... which also frees up my car's socket.

Bright smooth nickel plated contacts all around. Fuse is a standard cylinder type marked 10A, accessed by unscrewing the nipple end of the plug. The + contacts for the round sockets is one solid piece of metal. One philips screw in the middle of the bottom appears to hold the case together, also one phillips holding together the plug.

Subtle blue glow from the base of the round sockets. Not obnoxious bright like the units I used to have.

This is a perfect solution for what I needed, and the unit works well. Like most adapters it takes two hands to remove the plug, however the design allows single handed plugging.

Great purchase, my only regret is padding my order for free shipping with other things. I should have gotten two of these instead :)

World Travel Voltage Converter Adapter Kit 50-1600 Watt

World Travel Voltage Converter Adapter Kit 50-1600 WattThis product ("World Travel Voltage Converter Adapter Kit 50-1600 Watt") is sold under different brand names (such as the "Simran PG3 50-Watt 1600-Watt World Travel Voltage Converter"). Basically, all those 'dual wattage' converters share the same circuit design, and have the same limitations.

At the low ('50W') setting, the converter uses an AC transformer to convert 220V sinusoidal voltage input to 110V sinusoidal voltage output. For low-power electronic appliances (such as battery chargers or portable DVD players) that are rated for 110V AC only, this is the safest way to operate them while traveling to other countries with 220V AC lines. One obvious limitation is that the appliance's power consumption must be under 50 watts (most laptop computer's AC adapters are rated for 90W or higher, by the way). If you connect a higher-power appliance to this converter, the transformer's iron core will become saturated. This results in runaway input current, which may then cause smoke or even fire.

At the high ('1600W') setting, the converter simply uses an electronic switch to 'chop' the 220V sinusoidal input voltage into smaller segments, such that the average power delivered to output load is reduced. This is the same principle used by most incandescent lamp dimmers. It works reasonably well for simple HEATING appliances, such as travel irons or hair dryers. However, if you try to power any electronic appliance that is rated for 110V-only at this setting, the high-voltage stress will likely cause the appliance to break down and burn out within seconds.

This is not to say that this product is completely useless, only that you have to be EXTREMELY careful about what you can plug in at each setting. Unfortunately, some appliances fall into the grey area between 'heating' and 'electronic'. For example, most people will classify a curling iron (hair straightener) as a heating appliance. Yet it contains electronic circuit and its power consumption is higher than 50W, which means neither high nor low settings can be used.

The good news is that most portable electronics (such as chargers for cameras, cell phones, laptops, etc) are already designed to handle universal input voltage. Check the AC adapter of your appliance to make sure. If it says "Input: 100 240V AC", then you don't have to use a voltage converter at all. All you need is a set of adapter plugs (such as the Travel Smart Polarized Adapter Plug 5 Piece Set), which allows you to physically plug into AC outlets in other countries, and you are good to go. In case you already bought this travel converter and adapter kit, then just leave the 'converter' unit at home and bring only the adapter plug set with you. Better safe than sorry.

I thought I was doing myself a favor by saving money and buying a cheap converter, but I was severely mistaken! First of all, the converter itself does not plug in securely to the adapter. Secondly, whatever you plug into the converter does not plug in securely and hangs halfway out! Thirdly, after having the thing for three weeks, it exploded and died. DO NOT BUY. Go somewhere and spend the $20 or $30, so you can return it if you need to!

Bought this for a trip to Ireland. Thought I needed it for a hair dryer. As it turned out, I only used it to charge a camera battery.

Plugged it in for one night on the 50W setting, everything looked normal and the battery was charging. The next morning the converter was dead. Couldn't tell whether or how much the batter actually charged. The converter never worked again.

Absolute trash.
