I had accidentally kept the light in my car on ... and it was sitting like that in garage for 3 days, so the battery was dead when I tried to start it.

Purchased this unit at target (same price), came back. This was the first time in my life to charge the battery. However, setup took only a minute. It started to charge the battery. I waited for approx 4 hours and the battery was fully charged. Disconnected and tried to start the car. Voila, started in first attempt. Saved me the hassle of calling jump start.

I cannot comment on technical details, but it worked like a charm for me for a dead car battery.

I've looked around at different chargers, and this one stands out. It offers many features of a higher priced charger for a lower price, like battery desulfation. I recently used this charger to top up my car battery, because I drive short distances which doesn't give the alternator enough time to recharge after starting. It is also convenient in the fact that the cables store in the unit, and it has a carrying handle. The manual that comes with it is very good as well, explains in depth how to use the charger and safety precautions. A nice feature is the automatic incorrect polarity detection, which makes it easy to use. It is also a nice size box to keep in the trunk. The only con is the dim display, which is pretty dim.

I found the charger's display to be much too dim for daylight viewing. I have seen two chargers and they were both that way. It looks good in very low light or at night, but in sunlight it is just impossible to tell what is going on. Just another note be patient after you connect it to the battery as it can take over a minute for the charging process to start.

The product description says " features easy battery connection via clip leads, ring terminals or DC lighter plug (all included)." This is incorrect , it only has clip leads in which the gap in the clip is too large to fit the 8mm bolt head on side terminal batteries(that's why there's ring terminals NOT INCLUDED). So this will only work on some but not all of my cars.

As most of the other reviews stated, the display is dim. Infact, mine is so dim that I usually cannot see the lights or volt/amperage meter without putting a dark towel around my head head and the charger to see what it's saying. Even at night it is less than 'good'. If you are patient and good with puzzles, you can get the cords back into it's neat storage compartment. The charger itself seems to do a good job once you blindly pick the right setiings, but putting your face to the electronics and sometimes battery and engine area is dangerous. I have had this unit for about 10 months and use it for both boat and cars. It was purchased through Amazon but I can not recommend it since someone is bound to get injured trying to read the dimly lit display. How did this ever pass Duracell design approval? Oh, made in China.

I give a brief overview of this product and it's great features, as well as explaining the whole "Duracell/Xantrex" branding issue.

Some people don't know the details about power supplies like this. This one requires a long answer.

The PowerSource will provide about 45 Watt Hours. It has a limit of 60 watts from the battery and 80 watts from the 12 volt input. It has a 100 Watt surge limit for a short time.

Translation: the run time depends on your computer and the existing charge level when you plug it in to the PowerSource.

If your laptop batteries are run down, the PowerSource probably will NOT operate it.

If you remove the batteries it may work. It may also work to charge with the laptop off.

If you run it with the 12 volt input it may operate your laptop.

The reason for this is; your laptop uses twice as much power to run if it charges the batteries at the same time.

It will work, if you plug the laptop into the PowerSource before you run down the batteries.

I tested my HP dual core laptop watching movies over the WIFI link. It ran 1 hour and 35 minutes on the PowerSource then 2 and a half hour on its own batteries. Same test, next day, same results.

This would be 4 hours on an airline flight. It will power a Zune or IPod for a long time.

The more powerful the laptop, the shorter the battery life. Your mileage may vary.

It includes a special plug that work on some airlines power jacks.

Many smart phones use a specially wired charger to charge from the wall and will only charge from a computer IF the computer has a data connection to the smart phone. A different USB cable will not help, unless it is wired special. A cheat that works on some Smart Phones is to plug it in then reboot the smart phone.

I recommend it.

This unit charges my two ipods and my camera as I expected it would. It would not charge my friend's iPhone through the USB port although it would charge through the iPhone AC adapter. It extended my laptop by 30 to 45 minutes -I had expected more. One thing I didn't like is that when the device itself is plugged into AC, it will not charge anything.

I purchased both the xantrex Powersource mobile 100 and then this Duracell labelled model a little over a month ago. They are both made by Xantrex, and identical in every way, except the Xantrex works great, and the Duracell version doesn't work at all. With the Xantrex model, I charged my itouch 2G and 4 different cell phones using the usb port from the internal battery, and ran my small 13in TV using the 120V port and the internal battery. Basically runs everything I tried (though I have not tried out the inverter function in my truck cigarette lighter yet). Later I saw this duracell version costing much less, and thought I'd found a winner (Xantrex $100, Duracell $42) From day one the duracell one won't hold a charge and I get the alarm and red light as soon as I try to turn it on. Guess you get what you pay for, but the duracell isn't even worth 2 cents. Maybe it's a lemon, or maybe Duracell thought they were getting a good deal. BTW, the manufacture date on the xantrex was Oct 2006, and the duracell was Nov 2006. That's right, I said 06! Perhaps the Duracell was stored in a hotter warehouse all that time and ruined the battery. Regardless, 3+ years is a long time for any electronic device (especialy with rechargable battery) to sit around. Hey Amazon and vendors, clear out your old inventory somewhere else!

Good product, it has done all I expected, powered my Dell Latitide D630 for a bit over 2 hours, so that gives me plenty of battery power on the go.

Also since is can work as a inverter with plane and car adapter, it's perfect for me. The 2 USB ports also are great you can charge your phone or any other gadget and laptop, it's great!

If you're looking for a nice product for multiple uses, this is it.

The images for this product are fairly misleading. This charger does NOT directly plug into a GO 910 GPS. This will only plug into an existing dock station (ex: windshield mount). I e-mailed the seller after receiving this item to ask why it wouldn't plug directly into my device and didn't receive a response. I then looked up the tech support phone number on their website, called & found out that way. This product was not the dock replacement I was looking for (since mine broke). Seller should update product images.

Received shipment super fast (2 days). Plugged in car cigarette lighter socket. Splitter allowed me to plug my GPS and radar detector plus 2 USB ports to charge my I-Pod. Everything worked great. Blue light on black housing is nice and soothing at night, let you know device is working. Only thing though when I parked car for long haul I unplugged it cause I don't know how much battery is draining from that blue light. What a deal! I bought three of these BESTEK Twin 12 Volt 24 Volt DC Car Cigarette Lighter Socket Charger Splitter 150W with Dual USB Ports for each of our cars, when they were on sale on Amazon.com. Bought them to recharge cell phones and iPod players at the same time. So far, we've actually only used one, so can't comment on whether the others work as well.

This device DOES NOT charge a laptop or tablet device such as an iPad, nor will it run a small DVD player. When I called Bestek to ask about the different model numbers listed on Amazon for what appeared to be the same phone/iPod charging device, the guy I spoke to told me this wouldn't charge the other things, but I already knew this. I wasn't buying it for that anyway. I've got a power converter that does charge laptops and runs DVD players, though I rarely use those, except on long car trips, and I've had that converter for many years now. So, if you want to charge an iPad, laptop or DVD player, get a different product that works for those.

My daughter's '04 Jetta sedan only has one cigarette lighter socket in the whole vehicle, so only one thing can be used or recharged at a time. This becomes a real problem when she travels because she has to choose one over the other. Well, not anymore. Now she, and whoever else is in the car, can recharge a cell phone while also listening to the music from an iPod thru the radio and charging the iPod at the same time. We have only been using it for a few days, but so far, it has worked perfectly charging my iPhone and her Nokia cell phone at the same time, or charging her Nokia phone and listening to her iPod thru the radio too.

We really like the blue light in it for finding it at night, but the light is on ONLY when it's plugged in. Since the Bestek device is mostly black, as is the interior of the Jetta (and many other vehicles), the blue light goes off once it's unplugged; so, finding it when it's dark in the car and it isn't plugged in is not so easy. So, when it's unplugged, I recommend putting the device in the same location every time so it's easier to find, such as in a car door pocket, between seat and center arm rest, or in the glove box. We leave it inbetween the seat and the center armrest as her door pockets and glove box are full of other things.

NOTE: You MUST unplug it after you turn off the vehicle, so you don't drain the vehicle's battery. Most vehicles don't shut down all the power to things such as lights and lighter sockets. Of our 3 cars, only our Subaru completely shuts down, so theoretically, it could be left plugged in, but only in that car. It's good that the blue light is on to remind you to unplug it.

Since this charger can deliver 2 amps for each connection, I thought it would work well to charge the iPad. The standard iPad charger is rated at 2.1 amps, but the iPad can work with lower current power ports. When I plugged the iPad in, it recognizes the connection, but says 'Not Charging'. I have read that when the iPad says 'Not Charging', it may be receiving a small amount of charge. Still this doesn't seem optimal. The workaround was that I was able to able to plug a Griffin Technology PowerJolt Plus 2 amp Power Charger for iPad, iPhone and iPod (Black) designed to charge the iPad into one of the Cigarette outlets on the Bestek and then the iPad charges fine. Simultaneously I was then able to charge an iPod Touch and a Samsung Intercept phone through the two USB ports. The Bestek also worked fine when connected to a RoadPro RP-203EC 12V 12' Extension Cord with Cigarette Lighter Plug. So overall the device offers a nice way to charge multiple devices in the car for those long trips with the family, but recognize the iPad charging limitation.

I read a number of reviews to find an adapter that would suit our needs for a fair price. This one works well. It doesn't get hot and it stays snugly in the socket. Seems nice enough and the DC recharger works fine. Haven't had it on long, so I'm not sure how long the battery will last. Didn't need a recharge until I got home when I used it for 9 days over deer hunting season. I don't believe it should be rated at 2.5 million candle power though. Spotlights I used in the past for deer shining that were rated less where actually as bright or brighter. Especially the 1 million candle power unit I used many years ago.

Very bright and a wonderful idea not to need a charger, any extension chord will work to charge. The only con is it does not hold a charge for long.

It takes forever to charge and you can't use it while its charging. It would be nice if you could use it while it is charging at least 12 volt. And it is kind of old school as far as the bulb is concerned because it has a dark spot in the middle of the light.

I use this spotlight as a volunteer for the red cross disaster action team. The throw on the spotlight allows us to light up addresses from the van. The throw also allows us to see streetlights far enough in advance. There isn't much lighting in Detroit streets, so this light comes in handy finding houses. Especially after a house fire, there is usually no lights in the house. This allows us to do an assessment on the house with no problems!

Duracell 813-0281-07 100 Watt DC to AC Pocket Power Inverter

I bought this unit because it has a cord on the 12 volt end so that it can be plugged into our tightly quartered cigarette lighter outlet. It also meets my power needs. Be aware, this is really only an 80 watt unit that handles 100 watts for no more than a couple of minutes. At 80 watts it will draw about 6 to 7 amps from the lighter, or accessory outlet so be sure the outlet can handle it. Our new car has three such outlets but only the lighter outlet is really up to the task (15 amps or about 15A * 14V = 210 watts). The others are fine for devices that draw only a little power like a GPS, cell phone, MP3 player, etc.

The unit has a small fan inside that comes on when the electronics inside get too warm. Be sure not to block the vent slots in the case, especially the circular ones on the bottom since this is the only intake for the fan. I don't find the fan too loud, being just barely perceptible when it comes on while I'm driving. Mine feels solid, well made, is simple to use and does what it's suppose to.

It is 100 W 0.8 A for 5 minutes only, all the rest of the time is 80W 0.65 A. Consider this when buying it.

Yes, really. In my experience, Sony makes good stuff, mostly. This DRN-XM radio is no exception. Yes, this radio is not the latest, feature-rich device around, but the damn thing does extremely well in picking up signals, even in my downstairs office where the signal must penetrate at least a foot of concrete. I am using the shark fin antenna and I have it stuck sideways on my metal filing cabinet which is about 18 feet from the basement window. I've used the smaller, low profile antenna down here also and it works just as well. I have another shark fin antenna on the radio installed in my pickup truck, and it very, very rarely loses a signal. The signal drops out a bit sometimes on the radio in the basement when I turn on the microwave which is a foot away from it, but that's not typical. I have 5 Sony DRN-XM02 radios and 1 DRN-XM01 radio. They look identical and work the same, but the DRN-XM02 has a fancier remote control on it and a whiter screen vs. the bluer screen of the DRN-XM01 and smaller remote with less buttons on it. I ended up paying for a lifetime subscription for one of my radios, which is great because I hate recurring, never-ending charges to my credit card, but I don't think XM/Sirius offers this option any longer. I've tried newer XM radios and they seem to have problems with keeping a consistently strong signal due to their tiny antennas. You folks can keep your newer XM radios with crappy signal strength and features that I'd never really care to use on a regular basis...I'll keep my Sony DRN-XM radios.

This was one of the early first XM units, and it has no extra features that all newer XM units have. It has a noisy fan. It has a display that went bad in a year and you can't read it anymore. It has NO built-in FM modulator. You have to use the big huge-sized 'shark fin' antenna with two antenna cables. It appears to have no built-in buffer as it has more dropouts than my SkyFi unit does. I suggest you buy the Delphi SkyFi2 or MyFi instead, do not buy this Sony unit unless you need it for spare parts. It's the first Sony item I've ever owned that I was really disappointed with. XM radio I like, but this old Sony XM I don't care for.

Thinking about buying another iPhone charger?

1) Be careful to buy one that actually works (seriously). Apple has proprietary tech that each manufacturer licenses allowing the charger to communicate with the phone. Some cheapos don't incorporate the tech and wind up not actually charging the phone (for example, see this: USB Cable + Wall Charger for Apple Iphone 3g Ipod Touch Nano )

2) This charger is built out of (comparatively) high-quality materials and can hold up to being shoved in luggage/backpacks/purses/whatever

3) The cable can be used just by itself (has a USB end that goes into the wall plug)

4) The plug is ridiculously ginormous. I guess that's why it swivels, so this big hog can fit in a power strip regardless of plug orientation. (I assume they saved money making it so unnecessarily big.)

5) The connector firmly connects to the apple device (again quality build)

6) iPhone chargers are pricey, this is one of the cheapest that is built well

7) This one is eligible for Amazon Prime shipping

This is the second one of these I'm buying, because of price/value/reliability. I have both nicer and cheaper ones. Despite it's faults, this one seems "just right". 1 star off because the plug is so big.

I bought this charger for my iPod touch 4. I needed a wall charger for our trip to Europe. It worked perfectly! It charges the iPod much faster than the USB. I'm not sure if the faster charge affects battery life, though. Anyway, with a European plug adapter this charger worked just as well with Europe's 110 volt power as it does here. As a bonus the USB cord that comes with it seems to be of an even better quality than the Apple cord.

This is an 1amp charger, so it's not for an iPad. I got it for my iPod touch 4G. The cable that came with it is thicker like the other viewers said, and unlike some other Belkin cables, this one can be used for both charge and sync. The cable is a bit longer than the original apple one too. Overall this appears to be well made and worth what you paid for. Will update review if I should find it different after some use.

I rotate the charger between the 3 batteries and never have to disturb the connectors. It's tough, It's waterproof, It's Smart, It doesn't overcharge and I don't even have to think about it.

Calling this charger intelligent is kind of funny. This is just a standard automotive charger and does not work very well. My biggest concern with charger was the charger voltage which was always around 13.2V, and just not enough to recharge a 12V battery.

I've owned this unit now for about 3months & very happy in making purchase. First off, the power generator is absolutely quiet, unlike other powerpackswhich makes machine drilling noises. Second, the usb power source is very useful when needing charging of USB accessories. Now the few complaints are, Laptop computers are not recommended for charging. Laptops in general, draw a lot of recharging power40minutes of charging will literaly drain a fully charged powerpack source. Lastly the air inflator is not that good, even for an average, may take a while to inflate those tires. Jumpster works perfectly & recharing is done effortless.

I have bought three of these gems. The first was bought as a gift, when I got to examine it I had to have one for myself. I went and bought this powerpack for my father, seeing as though it would be a reliable product.( my sister's car would occasionally need a jump start along with the compressor and usb charger) we bought it in July, only fully charged it once. It was still nearly full but then Hurricane Sandy starts up. We use up all the battery for powering whatever was crucial. Here's the kicker, tried to charge it again once power was restored. left it plugged in for about 6 hours. still reading empty. We went over to the ac adapter. it's uncomfortably warm to the touch and that's never good. tried another couple of hours, still nothing. Extremely dissapointed.

I originally purchased this for camping and emergency power. While I haven't used it for an emergency yet, I have used it for a weekend camping trip. We were able to charge our cell phones, and laptop (to watch some movies at night), and recently used it to jump start my 4 wheeler. Very well made, the battery is a little small but much bigger would have made it to bulky and heavy to move around. All in all I would recommend this booster/generator to anyone who requires a portable power source simply excellent when camping.

I also wanted to mention that the battery is easily replaced in this unit.

I use this with my Samsung Galaxy S3 in my otter box case, and it fits perfectly, no need to remove the case at all. Mounting on the windshield and dash was very easy. But one of the best things was the customer service, you get an email from Laza letting you know about your warranty and to contact them should your product fail. Overall I'm happy with the product.

Update: Make sure when using this mount that you turn the locking ring on the base all the way until you feel it click, this locks the base, I had one or two mishaps because I forgot to turn the locking ring till it clicked.

I carry one of these every time I travel, since I use my Galaxy SIII for navigation. This is by far, the smallest, lightest, easy-to-carry car cradle I have seen. It sticks VERY well to the windshield, but like most units, won't stick on the pebble-grain they seem to put almost everywhere these days. Unfortunately, because the unit is very small, it doesn't reach toward you from the windshield, and the glass on many vehicles is quite far away, making the screen hard to reach and see. I usually end up putting it closer to the rear-view mirror instead of low nearer the dash somewhere. However, unless you rest the bottom of the phone on the dash, you WILL have SIGNIFICANT WOBBLE. This guy bounces around quite a bit, owing mainly to the small ball joint that holds the phone. Summary: Choose this only if you can can rest the phone on the dash, or carry-size is your main concern.

Great product, very comfortable to take with you when on travel and holds the phone secured (it takes few times to learn how to maneuver the phone into the cradle but once you learned the way it is piece of cake).

I had a lot of difficulty setting this up on my dashboard since the dash isn't smooth enough to set. And my window is angled so deep I couldn't set it up making it difficult to stretch my already disabled hand. This cradle is a (tight) spring loaded cradle and not equipped with a quick release so it pinches my fingers hard. So instead of using it in my car it sits comfortably on my desk at the perfect angle.

I received my product on time with Amazon Prime shipping option. At this price, this is a wonderful product and fits well with my new EVO 4G LTE. It mounts on my window where I use to put have my old TomTom GPS I'm not so sure I'd want to install the dash mount as it warns it's permanaent but it's an option. The suction cup design is very good so it grips very securely. The product itself is very intuitive but I did look over the accompanying instructions booklet and it was very well written and straight forward. I'm a big fan of Google's navigation application and only made sense for me to get something like this. It's not impossible to get the phone on the holder with one hand but definitely much easier with two hands on the other hand, it holds my phone very securely and I don't have to worry about my phone falling out at all. The simple design is very versatile and you can easily have your phone rotate to be landscape or portrait. The only improvement I could think of is if the gripper was spring loaded so that it opens easily and then uses the spring to close.

My old FM transmitter that was about 8 years old took a dump on me, so I had to get a new one. The result is that I ended up getting this one.

First thing is, I was completely miffed by the fact that all of the FM transmitters on the market advertise extensively how they work with iPhones and iPods. Well, it would be a cold day in August before I would ever buy an Apple product, so I spent quite a bit of time searching and making sure that this one would work with my Droid 2 Global. And it works extremely well at that.

The second thing is, I paid about $60 for my old FM transmitter back in 2004, and the sound quality was a little bit sketchy. That's not the case with this one. In fact, I can now crank the stereo and enjoy crystal clear audio. I honestly didn't know that the stereo in my car was as good as it is. I also like the fact that I can use the entire FM band.

The one recommendation I have for users is to make sure that your mp3 device is on about 80% volume. It will produce some distortion (sounds like static) if on 100%.

The negatives are minimal. First of all, the device didn't come with an instruction book. So I have no idea if there are any bells and whistles I might be missing. Plus, there is no control to adjust the output of the device itself. Other than that, though, I'm happy with my purchase.

EDIT: I feel bad about this review because so many people have marked that they have found it useful. I am keeping my original review in its entirety, but I feel as if I need to do a followup.

Six months later, the cable that plugs into this unit from my car's cigarette lighter has developed a short. The music being played is staticy, and occasionally, it will cut completely out when hitting a bump. I know it's in this plug because when I twist it, the music will cut out completely. I'm disappointed because it worked so well and was so clear when I bought it. Clarity in my music really matters to me, though, so I am finding that I am having to replace it.

I bought a car with a cd player in it and they player didnt work i searched for somethingto put into my car that will let me play MY music and something cheap so I wouldnt have to spend alot of money fixing the cd player.. This transmitter was a piece of crap! I got it and the first week I had it, it sounded great! Then the second week it randomly stopped working. When the cable was barely touched at all or moved the music would stop or it would sound only play the sound and no lyrics. it was just a bad experience. you are better off paying a little more for something better and well known, or getting an auxiliary cable.

My son wanted one of these for his iPod and bought a similar product at a brick and mortar store for $39.99. I protested and told him to let me search Amazon to see if I could find it cheaper. If you're not planning on spending thousands of dollars to pimp your ride, and are just looking to spend a little money to spice it up a little bit, these lights are perfect!

The lights are very bright, with several different modes to select from (flashing, racing, steady, etc.)The lights are NOT made for outside the car! They are in plastic tubes, so they will break if subjected to rough use. I put one under the dash on the drivers side, and one on the passenger side. With just those two it really lights up the interior. I also put one in the trunk, which looks really awesome when you turn it on.

Wiring is really not hard if you know what you're doing. If you don't, just look it up online, there are a lot of guides to explain it for you.

i have a set of these in my truck. i have the inside of the glove box plexiglassed with the control pad inside. the wires are a little on the short side, so youll have to add wire on your own to run anything more than 2-3 foot away from your pad. but the lights are really bright and for the price i would suggest these to everybody... i will have pics up reall soon.

This product looks great in my Nissan Altima. I'm a newbie when it comes to cars but the installation was pretty easy. Just do your research! All I did was hook it up to the cigarette plug via fuse box underneath my dash close to my left knee. I did have to use a fuse tap, which I bought seperately. Hiding the extra wires was easy since I could open up my center console and tuck all the wires into it. Great buy!
