Glove Box Car Jump-Starter

Glove Box Car Jump-StarterIf you have read the other reviews, you know that there is some debate over whether this works or not. Having tested this product, I will say that almost everyone is right on both sides of this debate. This is because there is confusion about what this product actually is and what it actually does. It is probably improperly described as "jump start" device. When you hook jumpers to your car from another car or from a portable jumper, electricity is sent to both the discharged battery and the engine. When the electricity goes to the engine, it allows it to start by sparking the gasoline. This product does not do that and is not designed to do that. So, technically, you cannot jump start your car with this. However, this does not mean that it will not help start your car if your battery is dead. This is because this is actually a battery charger. When you hook up Mighty Jump to your lighter, it is supposed to start recharging your battery. The electricity it is sending through the circuits to your battery is not enough at any moment to start your engine directly, but it is charging your battery. After 10-15 minutes, your battery may very well have enough current to start your engine. So, technically, it is correct to say that this will not work to jump start your engine. It could though recharge your battery, and this could very well get your engine to start.

This will only work though if your battery is capable of holding a charge or being recharged. If it is old and needs replacing, this product will do nothing for you. On the other hand, if you leave your lights on for a few hours and your car won't start, this could very well be enough to help you get it started.

Do you I recommend this? Only if you have a good battery and you can get this at a good price.

Do I recommend that you buy a more expensive portable jump starter instead? From my experience, they are not very reliable either. They are essentially just rechargeable batteries, probably very similar to your car battery. That means they will wear out relatively quickly. For the price, you could probably just replace your car battery. For that reason, the Mighty Jump at a smaller price point is very tempting.

In general, having a set of jumper cables would be your most reliable option particularly if you live in an urban setting with a lot of people around. If you are out in the middle of nowhere regularly, you might want to invest in something more versatile (and more expensive).

If you can get this at a good price, it would be a good option for just running down your battery from leaving your lights on. If you suspect that your battery is bad or is getting old, this will do nothing under those circumstances.

Sabre Rattler and G. Mahler (commentator on Aquabusa Jib's review) comments are the most informational and accurate.

For any jump starter to work (including the Mighty Jump) the following conditions must be present:

1. The battery in the jump starter must be in good condition and kept charged. This is needed to charge up the car battery.

2. The accessory (lighter) socket must be in the "ON" position and the connection is good all the way to the car battery.

3. The car battery must be capable of retaining the charge from the jump starter. That is it must not be too old or incapable of holding a charge.

4. All devices using battery power (eg Head lights, rear window heaters, radio, cabin lights etc) should be switched off so as not to drain the limited battery power available.

5. Wait for the car battery to be recharged sufficiently to provide the cold cranking amperage that Aquabusa Jib mentioned in his review to start the car. This may take between 1 to 10 minutes depending on the battery power in the jump starter and how discharged the car battery is.

6. The car should start now (unless the starter motor on the car is dead!). Do not switch off the car engine during the first 15 minutes of driving to allow the car generator to at least partially recharge the car battery.

Remember to recharge the jump starter battery after use so it is ready for the next emergency. It can be achieved by leaving the jump starter connected for about 15 to 20 minutes while you are driving. It is good practice to recharge the jump starter battery at least every 3 4 months. All rechargeable batteries deteriorate over time and need to be replaced after a few years. It is time to replace when it will not hold a charge for at least a few days when not in use.

Jump starters do work if used correctly.

Hope this helps some people.

This product works fine. People need to READ the instructions and do as directed. I noticed many people have commented that they only wait 5 minutes for their battery to recharge. The directions clearly state to wait 10 to 15 minutes. Also, be sure your ignition switch is turned to the 'Accessory On' position. Otherwise, no electricity can flow to the battery. Do NOT leave the Mighty Jump in a car when the outside temperature plumets below zero, or it will lose its charge too. Bring it inside to keep it warm. Another tip. If your battey is old or not holding a charge properly, it's time to get a NEW BATTERY. It's not Mighty Jump's problem. PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. Don't be so quick to blame Mighty Jump. 99% of the time it is the owner's fault, not the product.

While driving home my battery light came on. I was able to get the car home. I turned the car off than tried to restart the car and nothing happen. when I told my roommate what happen she gave me the mighty Jump to try and jump start the car to go get a new battery. I had the might jump connected for 5 min and the car started right back up. I turned the car off and than back on but sadly it died again. I had a bad alternator. The main point of the store is that it charged my battery up enough to get it started. Which means that the product does work.

Husky Liners 99051 WeatherBeater Black Front and 2nd Seat Floor Liner

Husky Liners 99051 WeatherBeater Black Front and 2nd Seat Floor LinerThese mats were advertized as able to fit both the Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee. I thought this was a bit odd since my impression is that the Durango is somewhat "wider" than the Jeep Grand Cherokee. As a result, before I ordered these mats, I called the manufacture to confirm that the mats would fit the Jeep Cherokee. I was assured that they would so I went ahead and ordered them. They arrived in a week. The front mats fit my Jeep Grand Cherokee like a glove. However the back mats are too large. I guess I could cut them down to size to make them fit but that defeats the purpose of ordering so called "custom fit" mats. I plan to call the manufacturer back and complain.

These liners are a perfect fit for a 2013 Durango. I love that they cover almost every inch of carpeting in both the front and back floors. I did have to trim a little off of the back liner because I have bucket seats, not a bench, but this was included in the instructions.

SuperTooth High Definition Bluetooth Portable Visor Car Kit and Speakerphone for Cell Phones, iPad

SuperTooth High Definition Bluetooth Portable Visor Car Kit and Speakerphone for Cell Phones, iPad 2, and iPhone Retail PackagingSUMMARY:

=========

[I am using the Supertooth HD with a Nokia Lumia 900]

If you search my reviews, I bought and returned the Supertooth Buddy (the little brother version of this). So far, the Supertooth HD has not exhibited any of the annoyances of its little brother. Currently, this is a 5-star device and I will update my review as needed.

What makes the perfect car bluetooth speakerphone? (ie. The Supertooth HD does all of this!]

==============My 14 Most Important Criteria Items============

1. It should have caller-id that speaks the name of the caller

2. It should automatically turn on/off as you are away from the car

3. It should have ample volume while driving at highway speeds

4. You should only have to press a single and easily accessible button to answer or place a call

5. It should make use of your phone's built-in voice recognition system (if your phone has this)

6. It should be easy to pair and auto-download your phone's contacts

7. It should reconnect easily when you are in the car

8. Callers should be able to hear you clearly at highway speeds

9. The charging port should not be obstructed when the device is installed on a sunvisor

10. It should have a long battery life

11. It should be reliable whether it is -40 degrees in Fargo or the internal car temperature reaches 140 degrees in Texas

12. It should have good documentation or manufacturer's website and/or responsive customer support

13. It should be usable whether the sun visor is flipped down or up

14. It should be reasonably priced

How does the Supertooth HD stack up?

=====================================

A. [Update: 8/2012 We've had a number of 103+ degree days so far in Texas this summer of 2012 and my Supertooth HD is still working great!, so I can state that the Supertooth HD meets the bar on essentially all 14 of the criteria listed above now. Also, recently they completely overhauled their website and they NOW have the user manual online. Lastly, they do respond to emails sent do contact(at)supertooth(dot)net. I specifically told them that some people's HD bluetooth stays connected while it is in their garage or close to their apartment and they stated there was no way to adjust the sensitivity of their bluetooth. Well, at least their customer support was responsive enough to at least tell me that and hear the feedback. (Back in 2011 they had emailed me the user manual when I asked for it)

B. I've owned the Motorola T505 and it does not have spoken-name caller id, doesn't turn off or on automatically, the volume is not loud enough at highway speeds (or heck, even idling), and it is difficult to press the small answer or call button.

C. The Supertooth BUDDY that I returned does not have ANY form of caller id (it just rings), the bluetooth would never turn off when I was in the house, and it wouldn't always reconnect reliably. I also had one strange charging issue before I returned it.

D. I've owned TWO of the Motorola T325 which was almost the perfect device, but horrible reliability. Two broke and they were returned to Amazon. I suppose they simply couldn't handle the Texas heat. They would connect/disconnect constantly and or wouldn't hang up or wouldn't place a call or wouldn't turn on.

E. The Jabra Freeway is almost twice the price of this (I've never used one), but the reviews so far aren't all 5-stars, so I decided to take one for the team and try the Supertooth HD.

F. I purposely purchased the Jabra Cruiser2 (similarly priced to this) for my wife, so we could decide which one we liked better in 30 days. So far the Supertooth HD is ahead because the Cruiser2 doesn't seem to automatically turn on (you have to remember to press the 'phone' button to make it reconnect, though it does connect very quickly) and caller-id wouldn't work for my name, even though it worked for other spoken names. So the Cruiser2 is losing in #1 and #2 in the list above and fails in #13. The Supertooth Buddy and HD are the only genius devices that use magnets that allow you to quickly move the device to the front or back of the sunvisor for when it is flipped down or up.

Usage Notes:

=============

Here's what I've figured out on my own [their website NOW has the user manual online]:

Saying "Voice-dial" is the same thing as hitting the voice-recognition button on your phone. You say voice-dial and then it loads your phone's personal voice-recognition system and everything works normally from there. With my Windows Phone, I can listen to as well as dictate text messages from the bluetooth speakerphone it's pretty fantastic!

Beyond that you have to specially add an extra phone entry to your important contacts, so that even if your phone does not have voice-recognition dialing, the Supertooth HD gives you voice dial with a number of preset entries like Call Home, Contact 1-9 and Voicemail. For example, for my wife, I added ".6Home" as an extra name with her phone number. When I press the HD's big button, I say, Call Home and it finds the .6Home entry in my phonebook and automatically dials her, without using my phone's native voice dialing. You can add ".8Voicemail" and that will call your voicemail. This is all explained in the small little instruction booklet that they provide.

Now even if you don't have a fancy smartphone, you receive 6 months free of Dial2Do which is basically a special phone number that you call that allows you to send text messages, emails, Facebook status', tweets by voice. You have to previously register the numbers or addresses on their website, etc). One trick I learned is that this special phone number (and the special button) is programmed as ".0Assistant" So if your Dial2Do subscription has expired, you can then program that button to dial any number you want, such as voicemail, etc. Just add a phone entry in your phonebook with the name ".0Assistant" then any phone number you want it to dial. Now whenever you press the "Hands Free Assistant" button, it will automatically dial that phone number, for me it dials my voicemail.

IN CLOSING:

============

The Supertooth HD almost meets the bar on becoming the perfect car bluetooth speakerphone and for the price and 6-month trial of Dial2Do, it is definitely a great buy.

I will update this review as the days pass if I encounter any reliability issues or any other annoyances.

[Updated 12-12-2011]

This is still a reliable 5-star device for me. I've only had to charge it once and battery life seems excellent. It connects as soon as I open the car door every single time and announces it. Also, it properly disconnects when I arrive home, unlike the Supertooth BUDDY that I returned and my wife's Jabra Cruiser2 which frustrated her so much, she made me get her old favorite, the Motorola T325 (half the price of the Supertooth HD right now).

To recap, the Supertooth HD is the current winner in my list of 14 Criteria Items I've listed above. The only device that comes remotely close is the Motorola T325, which is half the price, BUT not reliable during a hot Texas summer. When you also factor in price along with my list of 14 Criteria Items, then the Jabra Freeway, Jabra Cruiser2, Motorola Roadster and Supertooth BUDDY all pale in comparison.

For half the price though, the Motorola T325 is a very strong contender for fair weather users.

OK, we got our Supertooth HD a week ago and have been putting it through the paces and it has succeeded with all as advertised to date. (My smart phone is an LG Thrive with AT&T service, OS is Android 2.1). I exchanged a couple of comments with Dean (see his review!!!) earlier, his review is the best on all specs and how it can work with messages. I don't intend to repeat what Dean has so eloquently compiled already. Rather, my intention is to immediately let everyone know that the company in France has just released a 32 page full feature Operation Manual that has not previously been available on the Supertooth website. I got the Manual sent to me after emailing an inquiry to their contact service (contact@supertooth.net) about how to use the music streaming feature (turns out all I had to do was pick a song on my phone and it automatically started playing through the Supertooth, a no brainer but your phone must have A2DP which most have by default). To get their Manual, here's the link to the email from France I got:

I know it's a real long address but it's a link through my ISP to the download from France. Rest assured as I ran it through Virus Total scans for virus and website issues, the link and website ran completely clean, but you can do the same again if you want to also. The Manual answers many questions in pretty good English, but remember who wrote it, not native English speakers. But it has more info than any other source for sure.

I think that it's easy to get confused about using the Hands Free Assistant. I am presently just not using it as the routine features of the phone work great to accomplish everything including voice dialing. One big help is to make your phone address book entries very very easy for the Supertooth to recognize after it transfers your phone book to the unit. So beforehand, remove any abbreviations etc. in your phone book and make the names real easy and distinct and you'll get more successful dial ups. I might use the Assistant in the future, but personally I think sending texts while driving is a little scary as the concentration demand is greater. But I bet others think it's slick and will adapt and get used to short quick messaging that is not as demanding while driving. Good luck and be safe out there! Be sure to read Dean's review too, its great. This baby is a winner, and is getting lots of positive recognition, awards etc.

Oops, looks like Amazon took out my link, so I suggest you just email contact@supertooth.net and ask for the HD full Operating Manual they can send you. If you cannot, feel free to email me and I'll try to send it your way, best wishes.

Buy SuperTooth High Definition Bluetooth Portable Visor Car Kit and Speakerphone for Cell Phones, iPad Now

I have a 2005 Quest that doesn't have built in Bluetooth so I saw this on Motorweek and had to get it. I've been using it for about a month, here's my impressions so far:

Easy connect to my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S)

Connects when I get next to my car

Stays connected when I have been over 25 feet from car; in my house I have to go to the far corner to get it to disconnect

If you turn off the bluetooth on your phone so as to disconnect the device, it shuts off. Otherwise it stays on an reconnects automatically.

I use drive safely text reader which works well with the device

Very loud speaker, no need to leave it on full blast unless you have a lot of cabin noise or are deaf

Can't "voice dial" from my phone not sure why as I can from my ear bluetooth

Text and e-mail service requires registraion, since I use DriveSafeLY, I don't use it but may in the future. I'll update in this case.

I used it on a trip from El Paso to Las Vegas and back, no issues. Good sound, solid feeling device. Four stars due to the Voice dial issue, if I can get that working, 5 stars.

**UPDATE**

As promised, I upped it to 5 stars after figuring out the voice dial thing (it was my phone, not the device). Also, noticed that it kept re-connecting while in my house so to overcome this issue, I get it to disconnect first, then turn off my phone's bluetooth, then turn it back on before getting near my van and it reconnects automatically. Otherwise, if you are connected and turn off your phone's bluetooth, it powers down after a short time.

Battery life; I charged this device about a month ago, talk on it about 1-2 hours a week and the battery is still going event though I leave it in my car with temps around 100 ambient outside. I'm going to let it go until it dies.

Another feature is when it rings, it will announce caller then beep, at this point all you do is say "answer" and it answers! Truly hands free!

**UPDATE 2**

Ok, after a few months of use, I still think this bluetooth is the best. Also, the battery lasts about 25-30 days but I don't have many calls (maybe 1-2 hours a week tops). More calls, less time, no brainer.

I ordered this product based on positive reviews. After testing it extensibly, the conclusion is it looks good, has good features, and is easy to use. However, I think most reviews stop here, and very few focus on the most important feature of a Bluetooth speakerphone: the sound, not the one you hear, but how well people on the other end can hear and understand you. That is where this otherwise nice product fails. The road noise was unbelievable, even while driving at 10-20 mph on a smooth road, in a very new car. Yes, when you are using it, you can hear your caller loud and clear, but your caller can barely understand your words. I think if most reviewers looked carefully into this, there would probably be more negative reviews. We tried this product for weeks, in multiple conditions, with multiple callers. All complained about the same: excessive noise, and a conversation that just could not be followed.

Unfortunately, I returned this speakerphone. I then purchased the Jabra TOUR here on Amazon, and what a difference!! Not only is it slightly cheaper, but the sound quality on the other end of the line is just amazing. On the Jabra TOUR, voice sounds much clearer, road noise is not nearly as pronounced, and the features are pretty much the same. I highly recommend the Jabra TOUR.

So my advice is, don't go just by how well you can hear your callers; ask them if they can hear you well. This SuperTooth HD definitely fails to deliver.

Want SuperTooth High Definition Bluetooth Portable Visor Car Kit and Speakerphone for Cell Phones, iPad Discount?

Have had this for about a month now, and it's my first experience with a bluetooth speaker. I use it with my iPhone 4S. The speaker is very clear, and plenty loud enough, and no problems with sound quality for the parties on the other end. The iPhone doesn't support voice dialing per se, but I can just push the home button on the phone to access Siri through the bluetooth, allowing me to voice dial or text (see edit below, you can access Siri via the Supertooth).

I spent a lot of time looking at the different bluetooth options here on Amazon, and I almost went with one that played through the car speakers. After using this, and spending some time traveling in a car using a built-in system that played through the car speakers, I'm actually glad I got this one. I have been using a GPS app on my iPhone, and found that with this product I can listen to the car radio at a reasonable volume and still hear the turn by turn instructions through the bluetooth. Using a bluetooth that works through the car speakers, I have to have the stereo on Aux/Line in to use the GPS (or I can't hear it), so I can't use the radio (have to use the iPod to listen to music). Just a small little detail I hadn't thought of.

I'd get this one again, for sure. Solid, compact, and good quality sound for things like phone conversations, GPS instructions, or even I'd imagine an audio book, although I might want that through the car speakers. It's not comparable at all to "real" speakers for music, but that's not what I'm looking for in this type of product.

Edit April 2013; still a 4 star plus product, no complaints at all. In fact, not sure if it would have always worked or if it's due to a change in the iPhone OS or something, but you can access Siri by pushing the voice instruction button on the blutooth unit and saying "VOICE DIAL" Siri then engages for instructions, including voice dialing, texting, etc.

iSkin CERULEAN TX + RX - Bluetooth 2.0 Transmitter and Receiver Set for iPod

iSkin CERULEAN TX + RX - Bluetooth 2.0 Transmitter and Receiver Set for iPodI've waited on an iPod till there was something available without wires or earbuds to listen to my music. This iSkin Bluetooth Transmitter prompted me to get an iPod (80 gig Classic). I haven't been sold on docks or secondary remotes nor was I interested in sitting around with ear devices. I like to share my music and pipe it into my home stereo and also my car. This device works well but has a slight pause from time to time. But the best part is the ability to be anywhere within distance (30 feet) and use the iPod as the remote and enjoy whatever your in the mood to listen to. If it came with a USB plug-in adapter to power the Bluetooth receiver and a iPod 30 pin to analog RCA composite cable to hook to the stereo it would be 5 stars. These are items you'll have to run out and buy. Keep in mind if you want all the quality in sound you can get, you'll want this to channel from your iPod dock connector on the Bluetooth receiver and not the mini plug-in on it. So currently I have my Bluetooth receiver hooked up to a 30 pin dock cable with the RCAs on the other end hooked to the stereo. The USB cable is plugged into the plug-in adapter to power the Bluetooth receiver.

Quick tip....

Set your volume up all the way on your iPod before you plug in the transmitter.

You loose the "volume" in your iPod settings once the transmitter is plugged in. You still can control the volume though. After that set the volume a little higher than usual on your stereo and then control how high or low you want your volume from your iPod when playing music.

The performance over all is good and like I've said I notice a pause from time to time. It also looks good like it is actually part of the iPod and not some bulky device attached to it.

Hope this informs those who are interested in this iSkin product.

Well,well...Wireless Bluetooth Transmitter for your iPod. That is already very convincing.

This package includes the both TX(transmitter) and RX(Reciever). All cables are also included in the box.

First of all, their quality is amazing. It delivers sound exactly as if you connected a Monster HDA iPod cable to the iPod, but I repeat...it's wireless!

Second:If you got some good iPod woofers, like BOSE SoundDock System, this is just the best way to give them a very useful remote control, simply because you can change songs or do whatever you like with your iPod in a range of aprox. 12 meters (if there are walls within) and also that the RX has the female dock connector to attach it easily to your speakers.

Third: Here its where the cons. start to be written. The both TX and RX recieve energy through the iPod and iPod dock compatible speakers, but if you want to use them with another device (any with a headphone output) you'll have to plug them with a 5V adapter or connect them to the computer. The good thing about them, is that the TX has got input port and the RX an output port. (again, both headphone-like outputs) They would be perfect if they had some sort of rechargable battery inside.

Fourth:Have you ever seen other Bluetooth transmitter stations? They are very good, but very BIG too. The TX+RX are so small you can take them wherever you want to. They have also a nice design, that won't make your iPod look like a thing with a black extension.

Fifth: Do you just thought this was an audio device-exclusive product? Nope. You can also connect the TX to your PC or Mac with the mini-pin USB cable to send wirelessly all the sound delivered by the computer.

Sixth (and the only bad contra): This marvel is a bit pricey, don't you think?

However, it's worth the price, because on the iSkin Online Store costs more than here. You won't regret it after all. :-)

P.D.:Please, change the title name for the product! It was difficult for me to find it in Amazon. Put something like iPod Bluetooth transmitter or any other thing about the iPod. THANK YOU

I wanted to stream music from my phone to 2012 Audi vehicle's stereo system. This product does connect will with the ipod connector but never recognizes as connected on MMI screen. Later learned that these products are not compatible with Audi 3rd generation MMI system. This works fine with 2nd generation MMI system though.

Have to blame Audi for this.

Battery Tender 022-0150-AAA Waterproof 800 Charger/Maintainer

Battery Tender 022-0150-AAA Waterproof 800 Charger/MaintainerIt took an overnight charge but the tender did finallly toggle the indicator light to green. The packaging is marked with "Deltrane Corporation from Deland Florida" so its the same as the others that you'll see on-line from them. Seems to me that the one from triple A (AAA) cost less than those other offerings. I've only had it for a few weeks and only used it for 12 hours, but so far so good. The only thing I didn't like is that the LED indicator colors are YELLOW and GREEN and all of the information I've found on-lind said that the LED colors would be RED and GREEN. Not a biggy, just something to be aware of.

We have purchased one of these for all our vehicles, snow blowers, tractors, boats etc. anything with electric start. [All from Amazon I might add.] They are great! We live near the Canadian border in COLD country and, especially in winter, need batteries that are always at full charge. If the snow is blowing a gale, you do not want to have the tractor or snow blower fail to start! With the Battery Tenders, we plug them in when not in use and have never had a failure in starting cold engines. Without any reservation, I recommend this product as easy to use and reliable even for a woman to use.

Philips DLV92009 TransCast FM Transmitter
  • Your Music on any radio, wirelessly
  • Simple and Easy to use, works with most MP3 Players
  • Battery Operated for portability

Works great! Sounds great! Very low static compared to much more expensive ones i've used. Even in the city where there are very few open stations, it finds one no problem and works great. The battery has lasted me 2 weeks now, so I don't know what the complaints are about. Plus this uses only 1 battery, compared to other brands I've used which takes 2 batteries. Even if you get slightly shorter battery life, your only using 1 battery per change ,vs 2. Think about it! :)

I really needed a transmitter that's just cheap and looks nice and not ugly. this is the one. Compared to my friends $50 transmitter for her iphone that always statics and beeps all the time wow for $10 it works great. I get no feedback. but I do agree with the precious post, the battery does drain quick. I used it for a day for about a little over an hour to and from work and it's half way empty now. but it doesn't bother me, just get yourself a life supply of dollar store batteries and keep it near lol.

Want Philips DLV92009 TransCast FM Transmitter Discount?

Easy to program and great design...however, it emits a low frequency hum no matter what station it's set to. Proved to be more annoying than it's worth.

Will not connect to any channel and when it does the transmitter needs to be in some funky position to avoid extreme static. Save your money.

Peak PKC0TN 2.5 Million Candle Power Spotlight

Peak PKC0TN 2.5 Million Candle Power SpotlightSeems nice enough and the DC recharger works fine. Haven't had it on long, so I'm not sure how long the battery will last. Didn't need a recharge until I got home when I used it for 9 days over deer hunting season. I don't believe it should be rated at 2.5 million candle power though. Spotlights I used in the past for deer shining that were rated less where actually as bright or brighter. Especially the 1 million candle power unit I used many years ago.

Very bright and a wonderful idea not to need a charger, any extension chord will work to charge. The only con is it does not hold a charge for long.

Buy Peak PKC0TN 2.5 Million Candle Power Spotlight Now

It takes forever to charge and you can't use it while its charging. It would be nice if you could use it while it is charging at least 12 volt. And it is kind of old school as far as the bulb is concerned because it has a dark spot in the middle of the light.

I use this spotlight as a volunteer for the red cross disaster action team. The throw on the spotlight allows us to light up addresses from the van. The throw also allows us to see streetlights far enough in advance. There isn't much lighting in Detroit streets, so this light comes in handy finding houses. Especially after a house fire, there is usually no lights in the house. This allows us to do an assessment on the house with no problems!

Spotlight is awesome..very bright...my son uses to find houses when delivering pizzas at night.Another plus..charges with a regular extension cord! Was so happy with the first one that I ordered a second one for my wife to find what she's going to wear that's in her closet.

2.5" Screen HD 720P Car DVR Driving Recorder With IR 10-LED Night Vision/Cycling Recording/AV OUT

2.5' Screen HD 720P Car DVR Driving Recorder With IR 10-LED Night Vision/Cycling Recording/AV OUT
  • Uses 500W HD camera lens.
  • Night vision function.
  • Automatically records once the engine starts.
  • When the memory is full, it will automatically cover the previous files

The folks at Alldaymall contacted me shortly after I had ordered this product:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00919ZNQM/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00

telling me they had just sold out of that particular camera, and asked if they could substitute an alternative. I figured something like this situation would happen eventually (since they had only one of that item left in stock), so I said "OK". The substitute was the camera I'm reviewing now. I was a little disappointed that an English language operating manual wasn't included (the only manual was in Chinese, I think), but since I'm a very technically-minded, hands-on kind of guy, I started pressing buttons to see what did what. It didn't take long to figure out how to operate the camera (about 30-45 minutes of trial-and-error) and get the battery charged. It has several resolutions available, from VGA 640X480 to 1080 FHD on the movie camera side, to VGA 640X480 to 12 MP on the still images side. There's also a setting to flip the display 180 degrees, if you use the camera "upside down", and so many others I haven't used yet. It's a definite learning curve...if you press the setting wheel too soon, it defaults to the main display, and so forth. As mentioned, trial and error and about 45 minutes of tinkering, and you'll be operating this camera in no time flat. I've not yet used it in my car, but I plan to at some point, just to test it's capabilities.

It comes with an in-car mount (a heavy-duty suction cup for attaching to the windshield), an RCA video cable to connect to a TV or DVR, a USB A to micro USB cable, and a 12v car adapter. You can also use it as a webcam, if you're so inclined, or a USB mass storage device (although I had some trouble mounting it as the latter...I suspect my computer not recognizing any USB device over 8gb as the culprit). It'll take up to a 32GB SD Card, which, on the lowest resolution settings, will give you over 400,000 still images or over 5 hours of video. It's also night-vision capable, given the array of 10 IR LEDs on either side of the wide-angle lens. With the LEDs turned on, you can see about 30-45 feet in total darkness (about average for night vision devices). Turning them on takes a bit of practice...press the power button once to turn the camera on, then a brief press of the power button will turn the LEDs on or off (the display will indicate when the LEDs are on or off). The display itself is rather small...no more so than an average LCD camera, so it really isn't an issue.

I've not yet tested the battery capacity, but I suspect on battery power alone, actual use times may vary. I tend to use things like this connected to an inexhaustable power supply (such as a LARGE battery, a car charger, or other means), since batteries are so unpredictable.

I plan to tinker with this some more over the next few weeks, so we'll see just how complicated (or easy!) this camera is to use "in the field", as it were.

In closing, I'd like to ask a favor of the fine folks at Alldaymall Please include an English-language manual, or offer an English-language translation of the included manual with your cameras from now on. The directions on the back of the box are not very informative. Thank you!

Forney 54727 Battery Tune Up Clip, 50-Amp

Forney 54727 Battery Tune Up Clip, 50-AmpI purchased these to attach to the cables on an inverter for my truck. They are ok and did the job, but could probably use a little improvement. It has a very soft clamping mount to put your wire into and you're supposed to clamp down on the wire with the copper crimp, however the size of the crimp was pretty small and it's very soft so I felt it necessary to break out the soldering iron and make it a bit more industrial. Also, the clamp teeth are sort of cockeyed, but in reality it's more of an aesthetics issue and I don't think it would affect it's operation. The spring seems sturdy enough and I expect it will hold up for quite some time.

WirthCo 20309 Battery Knob Switch with Bypass for Top Post Battery

WirthCo 20309 Battery Knob Switch with Bypass for Top Post BatteryWould have given it 5 stars except the clamp for attaching to the existing battery cable was a little too big. It wouldn't hold my cable very good. You'd think this would be some standard size across the industry but maybe not. I had to put the clamp in a vice and shrink it a bit to make it hold tight. Also, I had to work with the thing a bit to get everything to fit but nothing unusual for working on after market car parts. Good price too.

I purchased this product for my fleet of vehicles. I work over seas and am not home nine to ten months out of the year. I wanted to stop any discharging and just have my battery solar maintainer do the charging on each vehicle. Product works great but the terminal size is very small. I have Mercedes, Volkswagen , GM, Jeep and I had to stretch the terminal opening to fit over the battery post. Make sure you measure the battery post OD outside dimension. Other than that product works great.

Thanks amazon!

Exactly what it says it is: Nothing more, nothing less. The build quality is high, the bypass fuse weather resistant if not weather proof. All in all, a quality job all around.

Pyramid RPB425 4 Gauge Ground Wire 25 feet OFC (Black)

Pyramid RPB425 4 Gauge Ground Wire 25 feet OFC
  • 4 Gauge Black Ground Wire 25 ft. OFC
  • 61/0.25 x 7C,D. 9.0mm

This is the WORST power wire ever purchased. They claim it is 4 gauge, but in reality it is 8 gauge! it is all shielding and hardly any copper wiring. It is made from such thinly stranded wire that cutting the cable shield will surely cause you to cut into the wire, reducing the gauge even more. I have performed trunk battery installations in 8 other vehicles, all using 4 gauge wire. Using this wire the car will NOT START. For comparison, Stinger brand 4au wire is 3.0mm, Phoenix Gold's 4au wire is 2.5mm, this brand is 2.0mm. AGAIN THIS IS NOT 4au WIRE!!!! Don't be ripped off.

I bought this along with some 4ga ring termials. Just be aware that the wire is smaller than regular 4ga, the wire with insulation fit inside the crimp on termials. Compared this to a piece of 4ga I had from an old system and it seems like this stuff is 8ga. Maybe it was labeled wrong or something.

I bought this wire expecting 4guage wire. I have alot of 4 guage in my car right now and it is alot bigger than this new stuff. Although the shipping was pretty good, when i opened the package it was dissapointing to see this instead of 4guage. But none the less, it is a great price and i wish i would have read up on some reviews. i would say this is closer to 6 or 8 guage.

Truly this is about a 6 gauge wire, so don't buy this expecting a true 4 gauge wire. I knew this beforehand and still purchased because it it's a really good price per foot of wire, even if it is 6 gauge.

This is a good quality wire.

The image shows a deep black insulator which is not exactly what I received.

On the other hand, the electrons that flow through the cable, I am sure, won't mind the slight color issue.

As a 4 Gauge wire it is quite flexible and easy to handle. The bend radius, as one would expect is limited.

If you intent to use it in small spaces with tight bends, it is probably better to use some higher gauge wire.

I use it to connect a battery bank with wires of equal length together and don't want too much of a voltage drop between the individual batteries.

Michelin MN-12279 Digital Programmable Tire Gauge with Light

Michelin MN-12279 Digital Programmable Tire Gauge with LightThis digital tire gauge is made by Accutire and is the same as their model MS 4751WC. I purchased this gauge because it is the only one I have found that measures to the Tenth of a pound. I do not like gauges that measure to a half of pound, rounding up or down. The Michelin has a nice feel in your hand and the dial is large and easy to read, even when it is dark, due to the illumination. I compared it to other quality gauges and found it to be very accurate. it comes in a very nice zippered case. If you want an accurate, easy to use and read gauge this is the one.

This gauge is the same as the MSI Accutire MS-4751WC Digital Programmable Tire Gauge. I think the "preset" buttons on both these gauges just get in the way, so I prefer the Accutire MS-5510B Racing Tire Gauge -now that its bugs(!) seem to be worked out.

This item's price stays at list rather than getting discounted like the Accutire equivalent. (I bought mine because the Accutire one was "no longer available", and I wanted to try this form factor in case they were discontinuing it.) If you want a Michelin logo, go for it. But perhaps you might buy the Accutire one AND buy a cute little Michelin Brand 12273 "Michelin Man" Digital Tire Gauge with the savings!

I should have read the customer reviews before ordering this "Gold Box Deal" Michelin Tire Gauge. Just as other one star reviews also reported, the gauge arrives with dead batteries. New batteries also will die within very short order because the Michelin tire gauge autos on and off. If left in your car (where else would you keep it?) the simple act of motoring about will jiggle the on-off switch enough to quickly drain the batteries.

When it comes to dealing with cars, I am a newbie. I don't know how to measure tire pressure. When I saw this, I thought it can't get simpler and ordered it. So, recently when I got a chance to use it, it was easy to get the tire pressure easily. However, the problem is the inside tip of this device which is pushed against the tire valve is broken. The real problem is that the tire value has a metal needle and this tire gauge has a plastic nozzle and when you try to push the gauge tight against the valve, it can easily break and that's what happened to me.

Want Michelin MN-12279 Digital Programmable Tire Gauge with Light Discount?

The basic functions of the unit are good. It reads tire pressure accurately to 1/10ths of a pound which is much more accurate and better than most standard pressure gauges. However its programmable functions are unnecessarily complicated and its too easy to change key settings during normal pressure checks which is a huge flaw. You should not be able to, while checking tire pressure, to be able to accidentally change between PSI and BAR readings. Which is exactly what happened to me the second time I used the unit. This basically rendered the unit useless and without the instructions at hand there was no comprehensible labeling or buttons on the unit to change back.

In retrospect I would have purchased one of the more accurate clock type pressure gauges instead of this digital model because of its ridiculous complexity and inscrutable interface. I cannot recommend this unit you shouldnt have to read 10 pages of small type to use the basic functions of a tire pressure gauge, digital or not.
