I bought this with a Magellan sportrak pro GPS unit. I already knew about the connector being shared with the data port, but since I don't have a laptop, I didn't want to waste the extra money to get the dual cable. This item does exactly what it is supposed to. It works great on long drives when I don't have to worry about draining the batteries down to a point where I can't use the GPS unit at the destination. Attaching and detaching the connector using the D-rings is a little more involved than something that can just be plugged into the GPS, but obviously, making the GPS submersible involved compromises like this. I can live with that.

I'm also a Geocacher, and I have to say this is a great product! I've been wasting money on rechargable batteries, but now I don't even have to worry about batteries at all. Good for long trips, too; because you don't even have to have batteries at all. A must-have for anyone owning a Meridian GPSr!Want Magellan Meridian External Power Cable with Cigarette Lighter Adapter Discount?
The den of horrors that is the Magellan car bracket requires you to have this power cord. If you don't then you will be fighting to change batteries and remount your GPS and that is no fun at all.I have used mine for over six months and it works without a hitch. A nice improvement would be a retractable cord facility so that you don't have excess cordage lying around your dashboard. Right now I loop the excess around the steering wheel but then again I never change the adjustment on the steering wheel so no problem with the wire getting caught up in the adjusting mechanism. Others may run into this problem. The alternative is a shorter wire but then it would make the power unit useless for some vehicles. A minor hitch but not earthshaking.A God send for me! Thank goodness I bought this before I almost got lost in the ocean in the fog. (Without AA batteries!!)
A totally necessary purchase for anyone who boats at night in unfamiliar territory. Easy to attach to unit and works great!

Save A Battery 1702 12-Volt Battery Charger Maintainer and Tester
It comes with nice and long cables and is in a very nicely designed box (that appeals to the gear-head in us) with easy to read LCD screen and LED indicators. The cables allow you to hook up to your battery using alligator clips or have a semi-permanent hook-up with a quick disconnect.
All I had to do was hook the cables to it, plug it into a wall-outlet, hook the other end to the battery and that was it. Like the description says, this will not overcharge your battery so you can leave it hooked up indefinitely.
Well worth the purchase.I have had so many "trickle" chargers or battery maintainers over the years, but by far this is the best yet. Nice small design and great monitoring to analyze things.
A bit more than the run of the mill chargers, but most certainly worth the difference. Very highly recommended

Excellent product. Used Battery Tenders for many years on my motorcycles and old collector cars. Found them to be excellent also. However Save A Battery charger is the only charger that will bring back to life my failing Optima Battery in our 59 Corvette. Long story on this, but again it worked, where the Battery Tender was almost of no use. Also like the voltage readout to give you battery charge status. Highly recommended.,
Good pricing at Amazon. The owner/vendor of the product sets up at major automobile events,,,,Goodguys for example. Sells for a 100 bucks at the shows.

I bought this 1702 model and tried to rejuvenate 2 almost dead car batteries. Even though the charger brought up the batteries to over 14v, they are dead again after being put back into a car for 1 day and the voltage decreased to under 12v.The bottom line: This is a good and expensive floating charger and use it while your battery is still good. Don't expect that it will bring back your dead battery.
I ended up using a more versatile and less expensive charger NOCO Genius G3500.

PowerFilm R-28 28w Rollable Solar Panel Charger
also this is a good charge controller "HQRP Solar Power Controller 10Amp 150W with Digital LED Display"
i got it here on amazon
and to top it off i got an:
PST-YD100W 100 Watts Adjustable Output DC/DC Converter from powerstream. ps, i had to upgrade the 16v capacitors to 35v and 50v because the 16 volt capacitors blew.
Input 9-15 VDC Also AC 110-240VAC for home or car 4 to 5.5 amps
output 12V, 15V, 16V, 18V, 19V, 20V, 22V, 24V single output, user adjustable Also 5V1A USB
this is a beauty it comes with ac and dc plugs numerous barrel adapters for laptops
Price $39.50
then i added this "Energizer XP18000 Universal AC Adapter with External Battery for Laptops, Netbooks, and More "
it must have 19v at 3.42 amps to charge so i am getting a third panel and a second daisy chain to make it work.
3 rollable 28 watt panels will put out 15.4 volts at 5.4 amps or 84 watts under best conditions
it boils down to a portable power grid a backpacker could take for around 8 lbs which i find acceptable if your laptop etc isnt too heavy.
ps the fact that many of these are sold on amazon with no negative reviews speaks strongly in favor of this product

This is a nifty little item, and we purchased one to use when we're out at the sports field with my kids. One of these unrolled on the top of a collapsable shade canopy (oriented southward), and it gives us the ability to power 2-3 small 12V fans. It keeps the air moving, and everybody cooled/shaded/happy. You can even charge up your cell phone (the larger panel puts out almost 2A of current at 15VDC.
Roll it up after the game, and put it back in the box for the next weekend.

I have this unit installed in my Subaru wagon. Forget about getting any heat. Turned to the windshield, it keeps a small portion of the windshield clear of condensation. Thats all it's good for. Hardly any heat, hardly any moving air from the fan.An impressive looking gadget; but not really a heater. Not worth 50 cents.

I had to keep my hands directly over the heater to feel any heat at all. After owning this heater for about two months, it caught fire in my Jeep I had to get rid of it. I would not recommend anybody purchase this heater.

Jabra CRUISER 2 Bluetooth In-Car Speakerphone
Form: The Jabra Cruiser2 is attractive. It is lightweight but has a solid feel to it. Controls are simple to use and understand. The unit's design is understated and minimalist. A clip holds the Cruiser2 to your car's sun visor. Unfortunately, the Jabra's clip cannot be reversed. My car, an Audi, has sun visors that flip from front to rear, rather than the usual rear to front configuration. That means that I cannot use the Jabra Cruiser2 unless I mount it backwards. Conversely, the Motorola T505's clip allows the unit to be reversed, which gives one more mounting flexibility.
Setup: Pairing the Jabra Cruiser2 was quick and simple. A woman with a pleasant voice provides pairing instructions and also tells you quite clearly what's going on with the unit. My cell phone is a Palm Treo 755p, which was the model that came out just before the Palm Pre. For whatever reason, the Cruiser2 is apparently unable to download the directory from my phone. So when a call comes in, it simply announces the number rather than the name of the caller. I'm guessing this won't be a problem for most, as it's probably a simple incompatability between my cell phone and the Cruiser2.
Function: I used both the Jabra and Motorola units by listening through the internal speaker and I also used the FM transmitter function. The sound quality of the Jabra Cruiser2 is superior to the audio quality of the Motorola T505 when using its internal speaker. It's internal speaker seems to be larger, clearer and has a better volume output than the Motorolas.
According to mom, the microphone quality was similar between the two units. However, she felt that the Jabra's audio output was more "choppy" than the Motorola's.
When I use a bluetooth speakerphone, I usually set it to output to FM stereo. It is there that the Motorola has a clear advantage over the Jabra. I heard consistent background noise and static from the Jabra Cruiser2 where much less interference was heard from the Motorola T505. Several times, FM radio stations overpowered the Jabra's FM output. Yes, I clearly understand that the goal is to operate on a frequency where no FM station is broadcasting and I tried to do that. But the Jabra's FM transmitter did not seem up to the task. I'd rate it poorly with respect to it's FM output function.
Conclusion: There are things to like about the Jabra Cruiser2 and things not to like. It's appearance is sharp, setup is a breeze, and it's simple to operate. Audio quality and volume using the internal speaker is clear and relatively loud. But I'm frankly quite unhappy with the FM output of this unit.
I was torn as to whether to rate this unit 2 stars or 3 but I gave Jabra the benefit of the doubt with a 3 star rating. However, I don't expect to use the Cruiser2 much, if at all, because the poor FM transmitter is a deal breaker to me. So, if you're planning on using the Cruiser2 by utilizing its internal speaker, I think that you'll be satisfied with its performance. If you want to listen to calls and music using your car's stereo speakers, I'd skip this unit and instead consider the Motorola or a different bluetooth speakerphone with stronger FM output. After reading all the reviews, I initially went with the Motorola Roadster. I liked that it had the ability to read text messages (my teenage sons favorite way to communicate with me) and that it turned on automatically when I got in the car. Once I had it, it works basically as stated but the sound quality was so poor and the fm transmitter was poor. I bought the Jabra 2 and have been using it for the past few days. I was so surprised when the voice came on reading me a text message! Motorola doesn't tell you this but the app MotoSpeak works with other units! Not only that but the quality of speech is far superior on the Jabra unit. So far, I'm really happy with it. Both units pair with 2 devices, both have FM transmitters, both use voice commands.
Based on my primary uses, here's my list of pros/cons for each
Jabra: Pros
Voice dialer is accurate
Display lights are easy to see.
Connects very quickly with my phone.
Good sound from the unit itself
Better FM transmitter (Washington D.C. area airwaves are packed but I get clear sound all around town)
Nice loud sound from unit, can use it if FM station isn't available.
Announces name of caller/texter
When using with GPS, it is clear and uninterrupted.
Cons:
Doesn't turn on automatically, easy to forget
can't dictate a text response
Points for Motorola roadster: Pros
Automatically turns on when I get in the car
Uses motospeak to play texts
More voice commands. Can just say "answer" or "ignore" for incoming call.
Can dictate a text response
Cons:
Voice dial is very inaccurate
Display lights aren't visible, don't know if it lost the connection
If unit is turned off, once turned on, it doesn't connect to phone unless it is first plugged into charger. Could just be a defective unit but a very annoying quirk
sound from unit too low to use in place of FM transmission
Poor FM transmission. Constantly having to change stations which makes it very hands on!
Cuts off the first part of sentece when using phone GPS
only gives phone number not name even though the phone book was downloaded.
I'm keeping the Jabra Cruiser 2 and sending the other back to amazon. Although the ability to dictate a text response is nice, I find it just as easy to call someone back instead. I don't mind having to turn the unit on when I get in the car. If I forget, the unit pairs so quickly that I can do it before I answer a call and not miss the incoming call. Hope that helps!!

I'm using this with a Sony Ericsson C905a.Construction Quality: The unit feels great. It's nice and solid, with satisfying weight. It clips on my visor with the wire that doubles as the FM transmitter (clever!) and just feels and looks nice.
Setup: Pairing the device was as simple as a bluetooth headset. A robotic voice comes on when you first turn on the Jabra, walking you through the process. That same voice informed you that it has downloaded your phone book. To connect another phone, just hold down the phone button and the voice repeats the process. Easiest pairing I've ever experienced. The bluetooth will enunciate the names of incoming callers if they are in your phonebook. Setting up the FM transmitter to work was trivially easy. You hit a button on the side marked "FM" and the robot voice tells you the frequency to tune into (and a radio icon lights up). You can hit the + or and the voice will announce a new frequency (these same keys control volume if you aren't using the FM mode).
Performance: The built in speaker is loud, but I much prefer using the FM transmitter. I'm really pleased with the noise cancellation. It's not perfect, but it is much easier to hear, and my wife says I'm easier to hear when I'm talking into this thing. The AD2P -> FM transmitter is a great bonus because my phone has a lot of music on it. The music sounds good, not great (you need a line in for better quality). Honestly, this is probably the biggest surprise for me because I usually hate FM transmitters. Bluetooth reception is also much better than the headsets I'm used to, probably because this device is a little bigger. I can leave my phone in my pocket and make and receive calls.
Battery Life: I have to be honest, I have only tested this for several hours at once between charging. It has been 'on' for 8 hours and handled at least 3 hours of talking without any problems for me, but I don't know how much longer it can last (I suspect much longer). I think I'll be better informed on how well the battery holds up after I've had it for a few months (I'll update this review). The device charges from a USB Micro cable and comes with a car charger adapter.

This little guy works famously, as advertised. But beware, it works TOO GOOD. By that, I mean that the range exceeds that which is practical. So ? So, if you don't remember to switch it off each time you leave the car, and you go into a store, concrete walls or not, if you are still within it's very large radius, you are STILL CONNECTED. If the phone rings, Jabra will answer, even though you will try with your phone in your hand to answer but are prevented. Jabra still trys to connect with your phone as though you are still in the car... Most annoying. If you forget again when parking at home, it will still answer when you get inside. You must remember to switch it off each and every time you leave the vehicle. The only way I could find to override the connectivity and answer the phone in the store or home, was to use the Speakerphone on the phone which commands Jabra to Disconnect. Still, Jabra gets 5-stars for it's clarity, ease of setup, application and faithfulness. :-)Sunday, April 13, 2014

Being an over-the-road driver I carried one of these for awhile in order to make coffee and hot cereal. It actually heats pretty well, and is a much better product than the previous one I had. However after about 3 months of 3-4 times a week use, it started to leak through the base and into the heating element. After that it quit completely. As this happened with 2 of these in a row, I tend to believe it's a design flaw. For occasional use, it's probably well worth it, but if you use it regularly, expect to replace it every couple of months.Read Best Reviews of RoadPro 5027S 12V Smart Car Pot Here
What a treat to have hot tea or instant coffee on long road trips. Holds enough for 2 cups of your favorite brew. Takes about 15 minutes for hot water, 20 minutes to boil. Very handy.Want RoadPro 5027S 12V Smart Car Pot Discount?
It takes around a half hour to heat water that is "cool to the touch" up to a temperature suitable for making tea, etc. This really isn't the fault of the manufacturer. They are stuck making a product that can work on just about any car's accesory outlet (unfortunately some vehicles can't provide more than 10 Amps or so). I bought two of these gadgets and they consume around 8Amps (give or take a bit) or approximately 100watts. That sets how long it takes to heat water.
Otherwise, it is reasonably well built. The little bracket that comes with the car pot is a little cheesy, but everything else is fine.

Bought this device instead of using a 1/8 inch jack plugged into my tape player. Not a good decision. I live in south florida. I have tried many stations and they all come out with static and interference. It makes it almost impossible to enjoy the music. Great concept, but not useable. I live in Houston (granted there are LOTS of FM stations) and the interference from adjacent stations was too much for the little transmitter to handle. Also, the gain (volume) was not dependable and was usually too low for proper listening levels. Once again, that could have been from interference from adjacent stations.
I talked to their technical support (super nice people) and tried it on two different vehicles. No luck on either vehicle.
They let me return the item for full credit. Very nice people to deal with.
Want iriver AFT-200 FM Transmitter/Charger for Clix and U10 Players Discount?
I have just about no problem with that thing, You put it between 2 stations where there is nothing and you get a clear reception. The only problem i had with it is that if i put the volume WAYYYYYYYY high on my mp3 player I get some static, you have to keep it at a certain level (But still very reasonable, Unless you like blowing up your ear drums).I had problem with other such devices that gave me trouble just getting a signal but this one can send the signal to a distance of easily 2-3 cars away.
Finally, the only real problem i had with it is that the wire eventually broke on me somewhere (After a Year or so) and i ended up losing the "Stereo" leaving me with only Mono, but hey!, it's 5$, so i just bought an other one.
In my opinion, if anyone complains about the quality of this thing, he either lives in a place with 100% Radio stations in use, or is someone who should just spend 200$ on a radio with an Auxiliary plug... Which would cost 195$ more than this just to get a similar result.I was looking forward to using this with my Clix Gen 2 player (4 GB), but did not read the specs carefully as the cable is not compatible with the standard mini USB plug on the Clix gen 2. The title is misleading, so hope you don't make the same mistake I made.

I purchased the Tripp Lite APS2448UL as a heavy duty computer battery backup. Shortly after I made all the connections, I heard a small pop and saw a puff of smoke come up from the unit but saw no change in the operation of the unit. Of course I immediately call the Tripp Lite customer service department and told them what happened. The person on the phone was intent on trying to figure out the problem. They had me do a series of tests and when everything checked out ok, he gave me a incident number and told me to call if anything else happened. About 15 days later the unit stopped working and all my batteries were drained. I called back and they promptly send me a new unit. Had me return the old one to them in the box that the new one came in. They sent a pre-paid shipping label. This time, there was no popping sound but the unit again died in a few days and my batteries were drained. After spending a long time on the phone, trying to figure out what was going wrong, we finally discovered that the 2 sets of dip switches read from right to left instead of left to right. In other words, Block A is on the right and Block B is on the left. Also the dip switches themselves read from right to left. Switch 1 is on the far right and switch 4 is on the far left. After charging my batteries up with a separate charger and re-setting my dip switches, everything is working great now. I am convinced that the first unit that I had was ok, just had the switches set backwards. I don't know about the popping and smoke. My complaint is that the instruction manual should have been clear on the reverse order of the switches. On the other hand, the response from Tripp Lite tech support was top-notch.Whether you need a backup power supply for a telephone switch, or are building an off grid solar power system the APS 2448 is a lot of product for the money. Most importantly: It does what it says. Produces power from 48v of lead acid and charges them when you give it power. Smoothly.
Cons: The controls and dip switches are small. so are the display LEDs. The mounting forks are plastic, and you have to mount it horizontally (like its pictured), and not upright on its side.

I really like the part that you can adjust the sensitivity so the inverter only comes on when the refrigerator wants to start and doesn't have to be on all the time. Really saves on batteries. I bought mine to keep the furnace, refrigerator and freezers working during the power outages and so far it has worked very well for over a year. It is very easy to connect up and has been the best back up power inverter I have had to keep the appliances running. Being modified sine wave though, it doesn't work well on devices with CPU's and such like some phones, clock radios, cable boxes and DVD players so I have a nice small pure sine wave unit for them.Friday, July 12, 2013
Universal High Output 4-key Remote Control for Single Color LED Motorcycle/car/atv Accent Neon Kit
Now about this little engine that could ;)....there are four buttons: A,B,C and D...'A' is solid state mode that has three brightness settings......'B' is the strobe mode that also has three different strobe patterns.....'C' is the 'breathe' mode which has three different speeds and 'D' switches the lights off. Note the lights can be turned ON with either of the function buttons (A,B or C) which is really cool.
The controller is nice and looks expensive! It has the slide cover that slides up to cover the buttons and slides down to expose them. Its made of metal and really strong. I only which this package came with two!
I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a neat simple 'one colour' control unit. Built strong and quality written all over it!
Definitely a BEST BUY!I love the remote set up. Very easy to use. I wish it had like a strobe pattern. So far great just got it installed on gsxr1000The controller itself is the best option out there for the price range.
The problem I have it the keyfob. Mine sucked. Out of the box it would work intermittently, and only after tapping it off a hard surface would it work. I tried replacing the batteries, checking the contacts, the keyfob I have just doesn't work. I understand sometimes you get a bad piece, but I emailed the company 3 days ago and have still yet to get a response.
If you order this product, and it WORKS.. You'll be very happy. But if it doesn't, don't expect any help from them. This item did not function correctly when it arrived. As soon as power was applied to the unit via the included switch, my LEDs would stay on solid and the remote had no command over the module. I decided to pull the unit apart and check the circuit. What I found was a SMT (SURFACE MOUNT TECHNOLOGIE) Resistor was not soldered properly! I have a pretty good understanding of circuits. So, in my case it was an easy fix. The module functions properly now. Although, I would recommend returning the unit or exchanging for a new one. The unit does seem to be of higher quality than most other brands I have seen out there. Its possible that I just received a bad ONE or one from a bad batch. Worth a shot for $40.00 . I gave a four star rating because this particular brand is among the best out there on the market.
