Driver Alert Nap Alarm

Driver Alert Nap Alarm
  • Great for keeping awake
  • Perfect for truck drivers
  • Alarm sounds if head nods
  • Uses three AG13 batteries - included

I guess as cheap as it is, just keep buying it every 2 months. Broke down in less than 2 months. I even changed the battery--which it doesnt even tell you what size it is and there are so many in that size that you have to make a guess when you go to the store.

My wife picked this up for me when I started the graveyard shift. Well the first week I wore it I was driving home, and you know how you get that feeling that you are awake when really you are just dozing off?? Well I woke up to the Nap Alarm warning me that I was falling asleep!!!

If it had not been for the Nap Alarm, I would have definitely been in the ditch with damage to my car...or worse!!!!

This product actually looks nothing like the picture. It has a different name also. It doesn't work. It is cheaper to just throw it away than to return it and get another one. I would not recommend this item to anyone,

ordered 2. Both came in different packaging.. 1 worked , 1 didnt. You can tell they buy these for pennies. Another great product produced by slave labor.

This device seems OK. It works as described. It's somewhat difficult to get to to stay in the correct position on your ear. Biggest trouble was dead batteries -the device worked intermittently for a few days and then died completely. So, you should add the cost of 3 AG3 batteries to the cost of this device, plus the cost of a small Phillips screwdriver if you don't have one already. Then too, the device is somewhat hard to disassemble, even after you take the screw out. A helper and I both thought it had been welded or glued shut.

There are radar detectors which are have a "keep the driver awake" feature. They are much more expensive than this little thing, but safer too: what if you doze off without nodding your head? I have a homemade version of the radar detector feature (having majored in electrical engineering), so actually I'll be driving with both systems to keep me awake .... :)

Remember: the best system is a bed and 3 hours of sleep. Or just pull over and doze for 20-30 minutes at a convenience store or rest stop, that does me a lot of good....

Original batteries were 6 volt but 8 volts give them more starting power...only trouble is finding a charger to work! Much needed charger voltage and a fine product to have around the shop!

Well built, installed a few days ago and is working fine. I wish I colud find a charger of higher amperage capacity for 8V batteries.

Associated Equipment 6012 6/12 Volt Battery ChargerThis is our company's second Associated 6012 charger and we are very happy with their performance. We use these chargers on a daily basis and they perform well. One hour on high plus one hour on medium will adequately charge most dead batteries. With an inventory of up to 100 used cars, and the cold North Dakota winters being what they are, we need reliable battery chargers and these do the job.

So far everything works great. Good deal for this price. we use it in a shop and we will use it alot.

  • LCD: 2.7 "16:9 TFT LCD
  • Recording formats: JPG
  • G-SENSOR: gravity sensing

I searched and searched reviews because I wanted to know how long this camera would record. So far with an 8 Gig card it is simply not a concern. I bought two of these and am now ordering 5 more for our fleet of 7 vehicles. It is truly a plug and play set up. Just hook it up take the memory card out insert into your computer. It automatically pops a screen where I can see clear video and mostly clear audio. I am amazed that there is also a google maps that shows up and shows you where the vehicle is. It also shows very accuratly how fast the vehicle is going. We had an accident about a month ago that was not our fault but my company got the ticket. This would not have been an issue had we had this camera set up. Also excellent view at night as well. Great wide angle lense. Every good driver should have one of these in their car !!! It used it to check up on my sons driving and was able to quickly review a 3 hour drive he made. To add the other cameras arrived. We did have a gps plug break on one of the cameras and do feel this is a week link on the device.

Battery Tender 081-0069-8 Female Cigarette Adaptor for Quick Disconnect

Battery Tender 081-0069-8 Female Cigarette Adaptor for Quick DisconnectNever in one place long enough to charge a cell phone while on a long bike trip.

Most riders have these Deltran sockets hanging off their batteries, so I ordered an extra socket end and a 12v socket to build one. Genius, I thought. Use what's already wired in to the bike, and create my own charger.

It would solve everyone's issues. Be the hero on your next extended weekend trip with all the guys who need to charge their phone! As I was sharing my project with the group earlier this year, one of them said they saw one at a battery store the previous week.

The parts I bought added up to the price of this item.

The name of this item is a little awkward. The subject; "Your Amazon.com order of "FEMALE POWER PORT" has shipped!" needed a little explaining when it caught the eye of my wife when she glanced at my inbox.

I bought this product to power my GPS and Cell Phone on my motorcycle. This product plugged right into my pig tail on my battery. It kept my GPS and Phone charged on my 800 mile road trip well worth the price.

I bought this unit to put on my Harley to give me a power port for my gps. On the pro side it has a nice long cord of heavy gauge wire and the dust/rain cap is great. The only negative in my opinion would be....I would have liked a little more body length and maybe a couple of reinforced or built up areas to assist in mounting with zip ties. Of course I realize the manufacturer has no idea where or how this product will be used. The product arrived very quickly, was as described, and was of good quality. I am pleased. Once again an Amazon purchase proved to be NO HASSLE.

Want Battery Tender 081-0069-8 Female Cigarette Adaptor for Quick Disconnect Discount?

It's OK, it works, the construction looks reasonable.

I'm sure it works perfectly if you have the "Battery Tender" system installed but the polarity is bass-ackwards on the SAE connector for anything else.

I used it to get a permanent plug-in straight to the battery for a solar charger and tested it as a power supply line hooked up to the trailer lights harness, not on a motorcycleon my SUV (turn the lights on, plug this into the trailer light socket, have 12v power back there for whatever, in my case a rearward looking camera to provide video testimony that I was legal and xyz cops are wrong/lying).

The polarity is reversed to what it should be. So I cut the connector off the end, switched the wires, soldered and shrink wrapped everything where it should be and off we go.

I don't know why they do this but be advised they do it. That's why I'm dinging it two stars, one for being bass-ackwards from everyone else and the other one for the damage they will potentially do in being contrary like that. I am aware that this is meant to go with the specific Battery Tender system and I don't care, Battery Tender shouldn't be bass-ackwards on polarity anyway for any reason. Most people using that system won't even be aware that this is the case, but for everyone else, HEADS UP on the polarity thing. When in doubt, get your multimeter out and CHECK it before you power it.

I received this new Cobra 9370 radar detector a little over a week ago. I own another one that is a little cheaper than this that also does a good job. But this Cobra model is not only more sensitive and brings the driver a better alert earlier from any direction, but it is also loaded with features that can be tailored made to any kind of area or terrain. At first I was a little intimidated by all the functions and features of this model. There is really is not much more one could ask for options on a radar detector. However thanks to a well laid out instruction booklet and a user friendly button system, it took me really no time at all to customize this baby for whatever driving situation I was in.

I tested this unit both in my town here and on the highway for several days. This being the Fall season the police around here are not all that diligent in the stationary radar on the side of the road, but I did run into some. In each instance the distance between my being received effectively by the patrol car and my being signaled by the detector of his presence was excellent. So far in advance as a matter of fact that each time I silenced the audio part of the alarm just because it went on so long. (It has both audible and visual detection options on it, among many other settings. You can set it to auto mute if you like). One kind of radar detection device that is always in vogue however is the so called rolling radar on the police cars themselves, and the new laser units. No matter where I was, I was alerted each and every time a cop was in the area from any direction, without fail. Not one time while this detector was active was I surprised by a police cars appearance. Which of course has the added advantage of saving you from a lot more infractions than just the cost of a speeding ticket. And pretty much gone are the days when garage door openers and automatic doors on store fronts had you hitting the break pedal way too often. The sensitivity adjustment on this seems to take care of false alerts in a city or congested environment where we tend not to speed anyway. It wasn't altogether foolproof. A few motion detectors and such did have it emitting a false alarm here and there. But I have always found it easy to differentiate between an alert being genuine radar, and just a door opening somewhere. The alert when its radar is loud, steady and unbroken in most cases. False alarms are frequently intermittent and last only for a second or two. In any event I was very pleased with it's performance in that respect. And it is also my opinion that this detector performed better than satisfactory in the majority of tests in city and country areas that I was able to throw at it. About the only thing I can say I didn't like about this model isn't really about the detector at all, but with its included dash mount, which is really nothing more than a thick piece of velcro. You have a choice of mounting this unit either on an included suction cup attachment for the windshield, or on the dash with the velcro strip. The windshield mount is the way to go for it to be secure for sure. It sticks firmly to the glass and the detector can be detached from the mount with just a click of a button. Not only do you need a perfectly flat surface on your dash for the other mount to be secure, (rare these days on most modern cars) but even on a flat dash it's not all that supportive. Go with the windshield mount for sure.

In conclusion, I have owned a variety of radar detectors over the years. Starting way back when they used to be available in a kit that you put together yourself, (and never seem to work no matter how well you did the job). This latest Cobra model has to easily be one of the best and most accurate for the price, with a variety of features to suit anyone, of any I have used. There are more expensive radar detectors to be sure. And in the interest of fairness I have to admit I have never owned a really high priced model. But given the performance of this Cobra 9370, I would imagine that the only person that would need something any better than this is someone really bent on breaking the speed laws at their leisure. For the average driving Joe ,I highly recommend this super Cobra 9370. Very good performance and features at a really fair price...

Buy Cobra XRS9370 High Performance Radar/Laser Detector with 360-Degree Protection Now

The Cobra XRS-9570 is, in fact, a great radar detector that doesn't break the wallet. I don't know what's wrong with many of the folks who give terrible reviews of these things but clearly they probably didn't read the instructions. This is a RADAR DETECTOR, thus, it needs a clear, level line of site (although I've seen some nice Valentine's that don't need to be level to work phenomenally, ie. motorcycle on-dash ones). The range of this Cobra series works really well. I've had maybe 1-2 false alarms in the past 2 months of using this due to X alerts from automatic doors on businesses located just off the highway. Other than that, I've seen nothing but great results. Over hills, from a distance, and 360 degrees ... I am very impressed with this radar detector. In fact I was alerted to a Ka just over a hill and sure enough, there was a sly officer hanging out in a great spot (of course I wasn't speeding so I didn't worry... heh). I have mine mounted towards the bottom of my front windshield. It is just above the wiper blades and has a line of site out the rear of the vehicle just above the back seats of my SUV (Honda CR-V).

Furthermore, this radar detector comes with 1-press mute button, and is able to be programmable to shut down during low-RPM movement which is a headache-saver during slow traffic in the city.

The only problem I had was with the mounting/suction cups. However, I installed these in the middle of winter so I had to use warm water on the cups to make them more bendable. Once they weren't basically frozen, they attached to the windshield just fine. The metal bracket that holds the radar detector works very well and is sturdy (the detector doesn't shake much when driving over bumpy roads). I do suggest to take OFF the detector to bend the bracket if it isn't level (this is also in the instructions... it's super easy).

So, in conclusion I highly recommend the Cobra XRS-9570. It isn't ungodly expensive, its range is great, and the adjustabilities (volume, detection, speed-shut down), make this a great detector. Please don't listen to the person who haphazardly gave this a 0 star review with terrible grammar. Read the easy instructions that come with this detector and you'll very much like it.

Want Cobra XRS9370 High Performance Radar/Laser Detector with 360-Degree Protection Discount?

I bought this radar detector less than a month ago as a replacement for the Cobra R9G that I fried when trying to connect using hard wire (don't ask me why the fuse didn't protect it)

Below are the pros and cons from the less than a month time that I used this radar detector:

Pros:

Compact and slick design, looks great!

Great range, it warned me about a mile away on highways and way before I even saw the cops.

Easy to hear sound and easy to read display.

Good holding suction cups.

Cons:

Lots of false alerts: Even in City mode, I tries all kinds of different combinations and nothing seemed to stop the false alerts.

Unit overheats: I noticed that the unit gets really hot while using, not sure if that will shorten the life or not.

Compass seems to loose focus sometimes, even after calibrating.

IntelliMute feature didn't seem to hear my Honda Accord engine rev! As it was in mute the whole time I had it plugged in (even after setting up the right rev)

I had to return the device as it had a broken power adapter and the unit kept going offline because of that, when I tried another adapter, everything worked fine, but unfortunately, Amazon doesn't replace individual parts.

Hope this helps!

I purchased this item for use on a motorcycle, one of the features that attracted me to it was the "bright" display. They used yellow for the display, so you can imagine what it looks like on sunny day, you cannot see it unless you really do some squinting, which is not safe. These detector manufacturers can load so many features( Ka band,Laser, Ku band, etc.) but they are not on the ball when it comes to this feature, they should assume that the detector might be used other than in a car, that the display should be of a color and brightness that can be seen easily in the sunlight.

HELLA 003361022 '3361 Series' 12V DC 2 Speed Turbo Fan with White HousingI've had one of these fans for at least 20 years, moving it from boat to boat to camper. When we bought our motorhome I bought a second one, which is the one reviewed here. They're small, quiet, and have a low current draw so you can run them all night even on your house batteries. I did modify the mount slightly by adding a self-tapping screw through the plastic nut into the plastic bolt because the nut has a tendancy to walk out under vibration.

American Terminal E-SB6-100 16/14-Gauge #6 Economy Vinyl Spades

American Terminal E-SB6-100 16/14-Gauge #6 Economy Vinyl Spades
  • Bag Of 100
  • 16/14-Gauge
  • #6 Spade

These are small connectors, made of thin gauge metal, and have a cheap plastic insulating sleeve.

They serve their purpose well. The crimpable section is short, which makes it a bit tough to get two crimps in side-by-side, but they hold nicely, and out of the 60 or so I've used I've had no problems. Some of the "tines" of the spades were bent over when received, but that takes about a quarter of a second to fix. They are light enough gauge to bend by hand.

Again, they aren't the cadillac of connectors, but for the price they are tough to beat.

These spades are 24k gold electroplated copper. They crimp well and work perfectly for their intended use. If I can get 20 for about $7, it is a steal compared to spending $6 for 4 (OTHER name) and getting essentially the same thing with a different spade design and maybe fancier packaging. Monster 200 Crimpable Ring Terminals (4-gauge, 3/8-Inch Stud)

Monster 200 Crimpable Ring Terminals
  • Durable crimp style cable to terminal fastening
  • Designed for easy connection to 4 and 8 gauge power cables
  • Designed to fit nearly all battery terminals
  • Solid brass construction with 24k hard gold plating
  • 24k gold-plating

These are exactly as described.

Unless you have leveraged crimpers (meaning allows you to apply several times more pressure than standard scissor-jointed crimpers) you're in for a bit of a fight.

The tool I was using was 2-8 gauge capable and fairly heavy duty, yet had to resort to rock-and-hammer/vice style crimping.

As long as you can deal with that, these get the job done.

Buy Monster 200 Crimpable Ring Terminals (4-gauge, 3/8-Inch Stud) Now

I purchased a package of these (there are 2 to a pack, which also includes 2 short pieces of heat-shrink tubing), and another package containing Monster 200 Crimpable Ring Terminals (4-gauge, 5/16" stud). All of the connectors are identical with the simple exception of the diameter of the stud hole. These connectors have a 3/8" diameter hole, while the other set has a 5/16" diameter hole. The price is $3.95 with the small hole, and $9.99 with the 1/16" larger hole!!! The amount of metal surrounding the hole is the same for all connectors, so the customer pays $6.04 extra for 2 connectors with a 1/16" larger hole!! My recommendation: buy the identical connectors with the smaller hole. If you need the larger 3/8" diameter hole, simply clamp the terminal in a vise and enlarge the hole with a standard 3/8" drill bit. There is no way for the manufacturer or vendor to justify the price difference. The higher pricing for the terminals with the larger hole is simply a rip-off!

FOLLOW-UP: After posting the above review I contacted Amazon's customer service to complain about the inappropriate pricing on this item. Amazon replied the same day and issued a partial refund to me for $6.04, as I had requested. So I ended up paying the exact same price for the two different connectors. Amazon also stated that they were forwarding my complaint to their pricing office for a pricing review and consideration to correct this pricing discrepancy. An outstanding response from Amazon customer support!! EXCELLENT!

Universal High Output 4-key Remote Control for Single Color LED Motorcycle/car/atv Accent Neon Kit

Universal High Output 4-key Remote Control for Single Color LED Motorcycle/car/atv Accent Neon KitFirst off, its really small! Small enough to hide anywhere....ie the receiver unit. The only issue I had was the white wire out from the receiver unit wasn't soldered properly....in fact it wasn't connected when I received the package but that wasn't that big of a problem cause I was able to have it re-soldered with ease!

Now about this little engine that could ;)....there are four buttons: A,B,C and D...'A' is solid state mode that has three brightness settings......'B' is the strobe mode that also has three different strobe patterns.....'C' is the 'breathe' mode which has three different speeds and 'D' switches the lights off. Note the lights can be turned ON with either of the function buttons (A,B or C) which is really cool.

The controller is nice and looks expensive! It has the slide cover that slides up to cover the buttons and slides down to expose them. Its made of metal and really strong. I only which this package came with two!

I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a neat simple 'one colour' control unit. Built strong and quality written all over it!

Definitely a BEST BUY!

I love the remote set up. Very easy to use. I wish it had like a strobe pattern. So far great just got it installed on gsxr1000

Buy Universal High Output 4-key Remote Control for Single Color LED Motorcycle/car/atv Accent Neon Kit Now

The controller itself is the best option out there for the price range.

The problem I have it the keyfob. Mine sucked. Out of the box it would work intermittently, and only after tapping it off a hard surface would it work. I tried replacing the batteries, checking the contacts, the keyfob I have just doesn't work. I understand sometimes you get a bad piece, but I emailed the company 3 days ago and have still yet to get a response.

If you order this product, and it WORKS.. You'll be very happy. But if it doesn't, don't expect any help from them.

This item did not function correctly when it arrived. As soon as power was applied to the unit via the included switch, my LEDs would stay on solid and the remote had no command over the module. I decided to pull the unit apart and check the circuit. What I found was a SMT (SURFACE MOUNT TECHNOLOGIE) Resistor was not soldered properly! I have a pretty good understanding of circuits. So, in my case it was an easy fix. The module functions properly now. Although, I would recommend returning the unit or exchanging for a new one. The unit does seem to be of higher quality than most other brands I have seen out there. Its possible that I just received a bad ONE or one from a bad batch. Worth a shot for $40.00 . I gave a four star rating because this particular brand is among the best out there on the market.

Escort Solo S3 Cordless Radar Detector

Escort Solo S3 Cordless Radar Detector
  • Radar Receiver/Detector Type: Super heterodyne, GaAs FET VCO; Scanning Frequency Discriminator; Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
  • Laser Detector: Quantum Limited Video Receiver; Multiple Laser Sensor Diodes
  • Display Type: High-Resolution Graphic; OLED Display
  • Power Requirement: 2 AA Batteries, or Escort SmartCord (Optional)
  • Programmable Features: SOLO S3 packs 9-user programmable features, allowing you to customize it for your specific driving style
  • Digital Signal Processing (DSP); 4-bit Analog-Digital Converter
  • Radar Receiver/Detector Type: 4-bit Analog-Digital Converter
  • Radar Receiver/Detector Type: Super heterodyne, GaAs FET VCO; Scanning Frequency Discriminator;

Let me preface this by making clear that it is the only radar detector that I have owned so far, and that I have returned it after two weeks of ownership.

If you're looking at this product, it's probably for good reason. Escort makes excellent radar detectors with a range of features. Other contenders for your money should be similar offerings from Beltronics and Valentine One's V1. Read more and I'll get to why this radar detector might not be the best fit for you.

The Escort Solo S3 radar detector's main selling point is that it doesn't require a car charger to stay on. The Solo S3 comes packaged with two AA batteries, which Escort claims will keep it powered for months of regular driving. In order to conserver battery life, the Solo S3 has an OLED display that turns off during regular operation. You'll know that the Solo S3 is still on because an LED will blink periodically to remind you that it is in fact working.

The supplied windshield mount works, but it's been often cited as a reason for dissatisfaction amongst owners of Escort radar detectors. I never had issues keeping the radar detector securely affixed to my windshield with the two suction cup design, but the radar detector would bounce and occasionally rap against the windshield as I was driving. This wasn't too much of an issue, but it did prove to be a minor annoyance at times.

The Solo S3 also comes with an attractive carrying case that has room for additional batteries, the windshield mount, and user manuals.

The Solo S3 sounds a clear alert when it first detects radar signals. The factory-enabled Auto Mute feature reduces the volume of this alert after a few seconds so that it doesn't become a nuisance. Upon detecting radar, the Solo S3's display also lights up to give an indication of the signal type and strength. I did pick up radar signals in advance of my being able to visually confirm highway patrol units, and received a couple of LIDAR alerts during my time with the Solo S3. I felt that the Solo S3 did an adequate job of alerting me about the presence of police radar in these situations, as the alert distance was sufficient for me to check my speed and take any driver action necessary to avoid police response. However, I felt that an extra few seconds would have been very helpful, and worth paying for.

One feature that the Solo S3 lacks is GPS capability. Fully featured radar detectors sometimes include GPS, which is used to store the locations of false alerts. This can be helpful when driving around town, as there can be roadside sources of radar that are irrelevant to drivers. Because the Solo S3 lacks this feature, you may find yourself getting alerts with no sign of police radar.

While the Solo S3 does a decent job, the more capable Escort Passport 9500ix Radar/Laser Detector (Blue Display) and Escort Redline Radar Detector have been shown to outperform in all conditions. Both of these units come with a higher pricetag, and require the use of a power cord that must be plugged in to retain functionality. While the Solo S3 can also be powered through an optional power cord, the detection range has not been shown to change. It is also worth considering the Valentine One Radar Detector, which has been consistently rated as one of the top performers in detection range.

For those about to buy, I strongly recommend that you consider what you find most important to you. Given my personal driving habits, I would do better to hardwire a more robust radar detector into my daily driver. If you frequently travel and every last bit counts, then you will be served well enough by the Solo S3's detection capabilities. The handy carrying case and lack of a power cord make setting up in rental cars clutter free. The Solo S3 is a decent radar detector that is worth your consideration. Just be aware that you will always make tradeoffs in portability versus performance.

At least for me, the loss of a power cord wasn't worth the tradeoff.

Passport still reigns as the top brand of detectors. This was my third one over the years. I have had cobra as well as iradar . What was obvious at first glance , that when an alert sounds ,you might think that's it's false, however a few miles ahead there is the radar. In other words, the passport gives you more than enough time to adjust your speed. The flaw is that I have noticed a slight reduction in sensitivity with battery models over the wired units. Also, carrying extra batteries on trips is a pain. Once I was caught off guard because the units batteries were so weak, that it didn't notice the radar. in another instance, the batteries were dead and I wasn't warned to replace them... However, that said, it's still the best portable out there and even on the front seat picks up the radar..overall, I would give this 5stars simply because it's the best out there.

I used this for a few weeks until I had a valentine 1 hard wired into my car. I thought I would test them both side by side just to see if there was a difference. The valentine 1 beat the escort by at least 5-10 seconds on both X and K bands, however the real problem was with the ka band, which is really the only band that cops use in the northeast (not including laser). The valentine 1 was at least 10 seconds ahead of the escort and the escort only picked up the ka signal when I had visual confirmation of the cruiser, which would have been useless at that point. I really wanted to like the escort because I remember when my dad got his first detector about 20 years ago which was an escort passport, but this unit was not worth the cost since the ka detection is so poor. I also tried an escort 8500 but it kept having laser faults which drove me crazy. I actually like the s3 better but it has nothing on the valentine 1. I would rather spend the money on the valentine than take a chance getting a ticket. I do not write many reviews but I wanted people to have this info before they spend a lot on a detector. I have no affiliation with valentine in case you were wondering.

I just completed a 1200 mile, 20 hour drive (Seattle to San Diego) in a rental car with the Solo 3 was thoroughly impressed. I use NiMH rechargeble batteries and they are still at 75% charge after the long drive and three extra days driving around. For some reason, the detector never went off in Oregon. But I always had about 5+ seconds advanced warning of radar in California. I did go into the settings and use the customizing option to see the distinct radar types that I highly recommend. I love the auto-black out and auto-muting function. This is a big factor is saving the battery, as well as handy to not have to reach up and press the mute button every time you drive by a grocery store door or radar run emplacement. I like the visibility of the display. I find it easy to read in the day and the night. On a negative side, I was a bit disappointed in the overall size. This is my first detector in many years and I was hoping the would have shrunk to the size smaller then a smart phone by now. The accessories that it comes with, as well as the case and the instruction manual were great. Overall, I do recommend the detector. But I can't attest to how well it operates technically as I never received a laser indication, and would need another detector to compare it to. Still, I find this an outstanding detector if you travel and/or need to remove your detector a lot from you car or windshield.

I dont feel this unit gives enough warning in most cases to

give confidence. I would not buy it again
