Can't beat it for the price. Well built. Covers large bandwidth.Tons of features. Great audio. I get great reports from others and I like the sound of others who have this unit. Came with lapel mic and hand mic. One downside is that the manual is NOT written for a beginner to amateur radio. The manual simply explains what the menus are and what the options are for each menu. There is not discussion about what the menu item is used for or why one needs it. Search the web for alternate Wouxun programming instructions.

Beginners will almost certainly need to get on a local repeater to meet and talk with others (unless you alreayd have a friend locally you can talk to). Remember this... Frequency mode is your sandbox. Channel mode is your storage. For beginners:

Search the Internet for a repeater in your area. Get the receive frequency, and teh PL tone frequency and offset direction. Common references to repeaters are like this: 146.300 + PL 107.2. Offset for the 144 mhz range (2 meter band) is typically 600khz and very often in the up direction (+). Offset for 440mhz range (70 cm band) is typically 5mhz and often down (-).

Put the radio in Frequency Mode.

Tune to the receive frequency (e.g. 146.300). You may be able to hear people on the repeater.

Use the menus to set the offset to 0.600 for 144mhz range or 5.000 for the 440 range.

Use the menus to set the frequency direction to + or depending on the repeater reference.

Use the menus to set the PL tone (e.g. 107.2)

Press the push-to-talk button and annouce yourself. You should hear the repeater reply to you and hold a carrier open after you release the push-to-talk button.

At this point make sure things are working. Now use the menus to save the settings you have as a channel.

Repeat this "get things working in frequency mode then save what you have as a channel" method for any frequencies or repeaters you may want to use.

In channel mode you can tune in all the channels you have saved. Your channel numbers are for your reference. Unlike CB radio and marine radio, amateur radio does not have universally assigned channels. If you save 162.400 mhz as channel 1 then for you channel 1 is the weather. Someone else may have a different frequency as their channel 1.

Purchased this in 2009 and used it for about 5 months. It was working fine until the light went out and the charger quit completely. I tested the charger with a volt meter and there are power but it won't charge the battery at all. (I have tried various methods to ensure positive engagement). Finally, I connected the battery on Schumacher SC-600A charger and it worked.

I have read review and someone has written that it will cost him 16 bucks to have the battery charger send in and returned on a 25 bucks charger. Save your money and spend it toward something more dependable and no headache. We don't need to be belittled by company that won't stand behind their products.

Optima 8040-218-FFP YellowTop Group 35 Deep Cycle Battery

This will be a mixed review of sorts.

I bought an Optima SC35DA Yellow Top directly from Amazon in August of 2009 and it worked fine until March of 2011. The plastic around the negative battery post just split with gas and gel oozing out.

I did not think there was any problem because this Optima battery comes with a three year full replacement warranty.

Now the warranty merry go round started.

I called Amazon and I was told to call Optima, Optima told me they would not warranty the battery because Amazon is not an authorized reseller, so back to Amazon, then back to Optima and so on.

The final result is that Amazon wound up giving me a full refund of the purchase price of the battery. I would rather of had a new battery but I got tired of the BS and aggravation and then I did what others did, I went to a local discount store and bought a cheap battery.

What is the point of spending $174.00 on what is supposed to be the best battery only to have it fail very early in its life cycle and then have to argue over getting it replaced?

The Optima battery worked for less than two years. So why spend the money on one when you can buy a Wal-Mart special for less than half the price, get it replaced locally or just throw it out and buy a new one.

I do have to thank Amazon for finally giving me the refund but there was too much aggravation involved. From all of the complaints I have read about the lack of a warranty when the Optima Battery is bought from Amazon, you would think Amazon would stop selling it.

This is exactly why I gave it only one star.

I can only recommend that no one should by any Optima Battery Product from Amazon unless they are fully aware that there is no warranty at all.

Wow! I am both relieved and impressed. I just purchased two of these batteries. After reading previous horror stories about damaged/no packaging I have to admit I was hesitant. I have had other problems with Amazon.com in the past. I just couldn't resist the price here, and with free shipping it sealed the deal. Mine were both delivered undamaged by UPS(this is an extraordinary occasion), and to my surprise the boxes were designed like tanks. If I could give zero stars I would... I know its cheaper here, but this battery just died after 6 months of normal use. Amazon will not stand behind this product and will not accept returns. Optima will also not warranty from an unauthorized seller. Funny, they left that off the listing for this battery. I learned my lesson, so hopefully everyone reading this will learn theirs too without the loss of $$. Unacceptable business practice in my opinion. FAIL.

I bought this because my 2004 honda pilot factory battery was on its last leg. I always have prefered optima batteries because the yellow and blue top versions Optima Batteries 8052-161 D31M BlueTop Dual Purpose Battery can be DEEP discharged without damage. In a conventional flooded acid battery after 10 dead events you are going to the parts store because you have ruined your battery. Same goes to a lesser extent with the optima red top they are strictly a starting battery.

In my case I leave accessories on 24x7 like my escort radar detector. It's to ensure that the gps data is up to date and to keep the microwave components warm so when I leave in the early morning they are on frequency and yield accurate measurements.

The yellow top is a cross between the deep cycle marine blue top and the starting red top. It has plenty of CCA's to turn over the engine the next day, plus it is not damaged by being drained. I do keep my yellow top "topped off" with a ctek charger CTEK Multi US 7002 12V Battery Charger whenever possible, but the battery holds its own even without ac charging.

Yes, Optima cells are expensive, and that is their one and only downside. Mine came with adapters to make it fit my vehicle like a factory cell. I get more years out of an optima vs. an interstate by quite a bit, so there is a value proposition as well. Just not being stranded from headlights left on is a great feature!

While it worked, this product was a fairly decent FM transmitter. It was easy to use and it allowed for a wide selection of stations from which to choose; although, if you hit a bump in the road, often the signal would cut out. However, it only lasted about a week after I opened the (new) package. After about a week, it no longer turns on. Neither batteries nor the power adapter get results. The only location this transmitter has been is in my vehicle.

First when I got it in the mail it came in a bag without a box or instructions. The power cord it came with that plugs into the lighter I'm sure wasn't made for it, I constantly had to mess with it because if it moved at all where I had my mp3 player it would cut out. I've only had it for a couple weeks and the cord that goes into my player is now showing wires and doesn't work after I had just used it minutes before I went into the store, so I ultimatley wasted the money!!

I wish I had read the other reviews; I would not have bought this product. It does not come with a user's manual and there is no product name or brand name on the transmitter so I can research it online. I have had it for 4 days and each time I turn it on, it takes time to come on. Not all of the stations listed (107.1,107.3...) work; I suppose it depends on where you live because here in the San Francisco Bay Area, the only station that works with the transmitter is 107.1. The sound is often static-y and sometimes the transmitter shuts off; not sure why. The only reason I am keeping the transmitter and not returning it is because it is not worth it to do so. After I buy a package and pay for postage, the amount will just about equal or surpass the price of the transmitter. I guess I got what I paid for.

I bought this jumper battery because my car was stuck in the garage, and I couldn' jump it with another car.

Even though it said to charge it for 36 hours after purchase, I used it anyway right out of the box, and it started my car twice.

I like the fact that you just leave this thing plugged in all the time and it knows how to keep the charge on the unit, and, as it claims, "intelligently charge" as the label said the algorithm is smart enough not to overcharge.

The LED flashlight isn't very powerful, but guess what, in a pinch this light would probably last for days if not weeks on that huge battery.

The compressor was a real bonus. I used it right away. It is very convenient to check your tires, sine the unit is not tethered to an electrical outlet. It took about a minute and a half for my tire to go from 25 lbs to 35 lbs. And after I did 5 tires, it quit on me and the tubing got hot. I read the instructions and noticed that compressing sucks a lot of power from the battery, and that you shouldn't use the compressor for more than 10 minutes at a time. So I had to wait half an hour for the unit to cool off, and then pumped the other 3 tires on my other car. This thing makes it VERY convenient to pump/check your tires. The built in pressure gauge needs to be angled upwards a little bit to be more user friendly, bc I had to keep tilting the unit to be able to see the pressure value while it was sitting on the ground. The compressor is something I'll be using quite a bit. The jump start feature is nice for emergencies and road trips, and the 12V cigarrete socket and USB socket means this thing can be used as a general purpose battery. It's the biggest battery I have in the house, so it's nice to have it.

I like the nice compact size without comprising the proformance. The air compressor works very

well for about 10mins at a shot(just like the manual will tell you). Also nice is the fact that

using the air compressor does not deplete the battery. Still plenty of juice for a jump! Great

I bought it for several reasons, I won't go in details but one reason is that I constantly left the lights on in the car. So I have it in my truck all the time.

It is a bit heavy, but I don't mind.

With all the features is a great addition to my tool set.

During the first few day a plastic cleat (to hold the air hose) broke. I wrote to Schumacher and they sent me new ones with no fuss, so I can say that their support is good so far.

I purchased these to attach to the cables on an inverter for my truck. They are ok and did the job, but could probably use a little improvement. It has a very soft clamping mount to put your wire into and you're supposed to clamp down on the wire with the copper crimp, however the size of the crimp was pretty small and it's very soft so I felt it necessary to break out the soldering iron and make it a bit more industrial. Also, the clamp teeth are sort of cockeyed, but in reality it's more of an aesthetics issue and I don't think it would affect it's operation. The spring seems sturdy enough and I expect it will hold up for quite some time.

Had Audiovox Prestige remote lock/unlock with alarm installed on 2002 Honda Civic LX by a local dealer four years ago. Have been quite satisfied with the product as no theft or damage has been done though I work in not-so-nice area. The remote transmitter was working well though the screen quit functioning after a year and half until I left it in the rain for 4 hours while playing golf. Thus, I needed a replacement transmitter. I actually had 5BCR03P, and by internet, I learned that 5BCR07P is the updated version and would work with my security system. By the way, the original store that installed it said it no longer carried the transmitter and if I get it via internet, they would program it for $35.

Since the product did not come with instruction to program it, I had to obtain it using Audiovox website. It took several trial and error and probably disturbed my neighbors, but I got it done. Important key is to know where the valve is, and push and release three times until you hear the response, then push the button on the transmitter button you want to program for several seconds until you get the desired action. (I initially pushed unlock button by mistake, so unlock button lock the doors and lock button did the reverse. Confusing.) Otherwise, I am quite happy that now I have a great looking remote, which many people think it is cell phone.

The transmitter was identical to the one I had broken. The item came with a scratch on the screen, no protection in the little box. This item is supposed to be new??? Also, no instructions on how to program. Couldn't waste time in fighting them about it, took it to an alarm place and got charged $40 for programming. No deal at all. Transmitter still has flaws with delay activation. Don't know what to do.

The actual description and picture of remote replacement was NOT what was sent to me.

I have the original remote from Audiovox and looking for a replacement, screen was broken. The picture on Amazon site did match what I had and description says from Audiovox.

Well the remote that was sent had two blue buttons and says Prestige on the unit. Nothing that says Audiovox. I have seen these advertised and did not want a copy. Paid $55+ for an original remote replacement from AUdiovox not for a imitation of the an Audivox remote.

I was quite taken back that it was not what was advertised and I am sending back. I did find this Prestige replacement for a lot less, but did not want a bootleg of the original.

Needed new battery for motorcycle and this delivers. Figure $90+ for a good gel battery why not get this with 3 year warranty, and if you take care of it you're looking at possibly 7 years of life. One thing that is a minor annoyance is the terminals are opposite of what I needed. I installed battery facing inboard to have terminals on proper side. A little tight to make connections but it works. I don't know if it is available with in a + configuration vs the + I got. If it is I didn't see it during the ordering process of the battery.

Long story short, I more or less got one of the few (if not the only) dud from the factory line. The battery would not start my bike (2002 Yamaha R1) in the cold mornings no matter how many cranks it produced. To its credit, it kept cranking the bike like a champion no matter how many times and how long I held the starter button down. But it wasn't until the temps got up just enough from the morning that the bike would start. I swapped the old lead acid battery back on the bike, and I never had the problem again.

Ballistic Performance has been outstanding in their customer service via email and phone. Ultimately, I returned the battery to the local store I purchased it from, and Ballistic made sure that the retailer shipped the battery to them immediately for testing. Ballistic kept me updated throughout via email, leading to the same conclusion that while the battery passed all metering tests with flying colors, it did have intermittent problems in starting their bike (Aprilia Tuono).

I rated the product Four Stars at this point due to Ballistic Peformance's outstanding customer service, and for a very well-finished product. Despite the faulty starting performance of the battery, it was clearly well-constructed and finished, and is truly a very lightweight replacement to the standard lead acid batteries. I couldn't give it Five Stars due to my luck of the draw, but I wouldn't hesitate to try Ballistic Performance again when I'm ready to have another go at it.

I bought a 8 cell for my CBR1000RR with a host of additional electronics, including an alarm, Dynojet fuel injection module, quickshifter, a gear position indicator and a wired-in radar detector connection.So my bike draws more than a stock CBR1000RR does.

I got my battery very quickly in the mail, and was excited to install it. I was dismayed to find it would not crank like it did with the stock battery, but the weight saving was incredible. I thought my charging system might be bad on the bike.

So I ordered the balancing charger from Ballistic to optimize my battery and as soon as I hooked it up, the problem was obvious. Two of the 8 cells were not registering any voltage at all. I called Ballistic, spoke to the president on his cell phone, and he was awesome.

He immediately apologized (but hey, I understand; things like this happen occasionally) and sent me out a new one just as fast as he hung up with me complete with tracking number. That is great customer service!

One thing to remember; this 8-cell battery started my bike on only 6 cells every time. I am fully confident that the replacement will be fine and the Ballistic Balancing Battery Charger will allow you to see exactly what each cell is doing. A stock battery with a dead cell would have left me stranded.

I highly recommend this battery, it gave me more room in my battery box to relocate my alarm module there and free up precious space under the passenger seat. If you had an '05 CBR1000RR with an underseat exhaust you would know exactly what I meant!

It would be great if the neck were longer so I could actually reach my device (phone, MP3, GPS) if used as recommended. Also, it's not very stable ... bounces around with road vibrations, making it hard to read your device. Definitely not good for GPS since it locates the screen too far away & you have to take your eyes off the road.

this product was easy to install, easy to adjust to proper angle, holds the phone securly, simple yet very effective, my phone even has the rubber case on it.
