Accel 1844 Red 2-Gauge 100' Spool Silicone Battery Cable

Accel 1844 Red 2-Gauge 100' Spool Silicone Battery CableI ordered 2 of these and have used only 50' so far (running winch power from battery to end of truck).

Wire insulation seems normal, crimped and held just fine. Nothing else to really report on.

Sunforce 50022 5-Watt Solar Battery Trickle Charger

Sunforce 50022 5-Watt Solar Battery Trickle ChargerI live on a river and built a campsite on an island across from my house (the dog loves it). I bought a deep-cycle marine battery but am getting too old to lug it in and out of the canoe for charging. So I got this little panel and, so far, have not run out of juice. And it's cheap enough so if someone steals it it's no big tragedy. I run a laptop, TV, fluorescent light and charge my cell phone. I even have a 12v car-vac to clean the sand out of the tent.

Of course, I'm not there 95% of the time so 5 watts is probably adequate. And I don't have to worry about overcharging. I screwed it to a big log in pretty open sun. So far, it has survived, even some small hail.

BTW, I use the power cord from an old vacuum cleaner and a 4-way 12v splitter to distribute power from the battery.

In 2006 I took a 3 week vacation out of the country. I left my car at the airport and away I went. Upon my return, I had to have the battery boosted for 15 minutes before it would turn my car's engine on. I have no idea what caused the drain (Sattelite Radio memory, car's other computers, etc), but I had to do something to prevent a $50.00 boost call in the future. A coworker told me about these devices and how his brother uses them to keep his mobile home powered when parked. Higher wattage products are sold, but if all you're doing is keeping a car battery charged, 5 watts is plenty of power for the job. No other devices (charger controllers) are needed. The charger comes with a couple of ways to hook up to the battery (direct battery terminal clips, cigarette lighter plug). I used the cigarette plug. Just plug it in to the power port, and lay the solar energy collector side face up on your dashboard. For those with heavily tinted windshields, I have no idea if the tint would cause a problem with the panel's energy collection.

This year, after returning from another 3 week trip (and using the solar charger), my battery started better than it did before my trip to the airport!

I recently ordered one of these panels (June 2007). The first one arrived shattered the manufacturer packaging does not protect the panel much and it was inadequately packaged in the shipping box by Amazon. The replacement unit was also badly packaged for shipment.

I tested the electrical output in full sunlight and got 20V out into a 100 ohm load -> 4 watts which is pretty good.

One thing to consider though is that this product is not very rugged. The solar panel has a plastic frame but the middle is unprotected on the back (and front). So unless you handle it very carefully it is likely to break.

Someone using this on a car dashboard would need some sort of protective carrier (like those insulated pizza boxes) to protect the unit when it was not being used.

-----------Update Dec 2007 ----------------

Panel stopped producing electricity in November. Had to send it in to Sunforce at my expense for warrantee replacement. They promptly tested it and sent me a replacement. One thing I did notice is that the plastic housing on the unit that I returned had developed some small cracks. I am using the unit on my car dashboard to keep my battery charged.

-----------Update Jan 2013 ----------------

The frame around the panel has warped and cracked. As a result the panel no longer reliably charges my battery. This product isn't really engineered for reliable operation on car dashboards the plastic / frame cannot deal with the extreme temperature changes over time.

This unit has consistently performed _better_ than it is rated for. It routinely generates over 140% the rated voltage and even generates the Rated Voltage on overcast days. A *streetlight* at night caused it to generate a measurable voltage (~50% rated, as I recall). Also, it is weather/hailstone resistant. I am very pleased with the performance of this item.

I took this on my one month trip to the Colorado mountains and used it daily. It kept my batteries charged that I use to run my pop up, and they never did run down. After 10 days of using one I switched to another battery just because I wanted to, but the one I was using was still working fine. I wasn't using a lot of power, but at the same rate of use I've never gotten more than four days out of charged battery before without a solar charger. This works very well at a great price. I got it soaked several times with no problem. I'd recommend it highly.

Husky Liners Custom Fit Second Seat Floor Liner for Select Toyota Tundra Models (Grey)

Husky Liners Custom Fit Second Seat Floor Liner for Select Toyota Tundra ModelsPretty much exactly like the last ones I bought for an old landcruiser. They keep the dirt and water off your carpet. Enough said.

These floor liners do a wonderful job of protecting the carpet and containing mud, snow etc. and they also look great. Fit and finish is wonderful, and they are easy to clean (just take em out and hose em off). I have had these is several trucks, and will probably have them in my next one too!

Accel 1850 Red 4-Gauge 20' Spool Silicone Battery Cable

Accel 1850 Red 4-Gauge 20' Spool Silicone Battery CableI bought this cable to re-route the main BMW factory power cable that runs from the battery in the trunk to the jump post under the hood. Its used in conjunction with: Taylor Cable 1033 4-Post Switch. This cable worked great. The price was reasonable and thick enough for the application (though not nearly as thick as the factory cable still it was sufficient to carry the current for starting the car).

Goal Zero 11406 Guide 10 Plus Silver Battery Pack

Goal Zero 11406 Guide 10 Plus Silver Battery PackDon't try charging a Kindle 3 with this battery pack. I connected it to my Kindle and shortly there was smoke from the Guide 10. It's dead now. There should be some current limiting built into the unit (other than just burning up). Energizer 2500 mah nickel metal hydride batteries used.

Later that same day: Goal Zero offered a free replacement when I contacted them about getting the unit repaired. Hard to beat that kind of customer service.

I find it difficult to underhand why this unit is an add on item. This is a more versatile unit due to the up to 1.0 amp ability.

I have used it just a little so far to verify the ability to charge the high drain iPad.

Overall a solid system and while I don't like having to buy two separate chargers, I am glad for the ability to recharge 8 batteries at once with the Nomad 7.

Pros:

1.0 amp recharge ability.

included batteries are low discharge 2300mah type. Good cells.

can charge in addition to the regular guide 10 on one panel.

Cons:

shouldn't have to buy this as a separate unit.

Hope that helps.

I purchased a kit at my local Costco during a Goal Zero road show back in March that included the Nomad 7 solar panel, the Guide 10+ along with several of the cables etc that are normally sold separately. So far everything has worked great except for the Guide 10+. They claim that the Guide 10+ will charge the average cell phone 3 times, I have an HTC EVO with the standard battery and since it is a smart phone I knew that I would get fewer charges. I was expecting to get at least 2 but my experience has been not even one full charge before the AA batteries are depleted. This might be acceptable except for one glaring omission in its design by Goal Zero. I do not know if they just did not think about it or wanted to save a penny on its manufacture but it does not have a blocking diode in its circuit. What does this mean? well a blocking diode prevents what ever you are charging from discharging back into the Guide 10 batteries when they become depleted. I was not paying close attention to charging my cell phone and when I looked at it the battery was indicating only a 50% charge when a few minutes earlier it was around 90% charged. When the AA batteries became depleted the cell battery then tried to charge the AA batteries back up because of the Guide 10 not having a blocking diode. This is at least for me unacceptable and a very poor design!

I bought this as a package with their Solar Panel and the Guide 10 Plus. I liked the idea of having a battery charger, coupled with a solar panel, that could be used to charge small electronics. My first attempt to use this was on my Iphone 5 with the pin adapter that lets you use an older charging cable. This immediately fried it. I should have learned my lesson there, but I really wanted this to work thinking it was the adapter for my phone. Later that day I plugged my Kindle Fire into the Guide 10 and fried my Kindle. I think by Trial and Error we can determine that this is a great battery charger but is not suited for much else although Goal Zero claims it is. I contacted customer support on this issue. They sent me a really nice note saying that this should not happen but pretty much to have a nice day. Please don't buy this to charge anything other than batteries. I have numerous chargers for small electronics that have worked flawless. This isn't one of them. Unfortunate. Their Solar panels are quite good, their battery packs....eh. My one star is based on them advertising this won't cook small electronics and their almost moronic mail to me not understanding they may have a faulty component and they should replace it. I am still working on getting a reply to my mail back to them. Thus far after three days, nothing.

Want Goal Zero 11406 Guide 10 Plus Silver Battery Pack Discount?

I have fully charged these batteries several times and when I attempt to use them they are nearly or completely discharged. I originally thought it was the charger somehow discharging them during storage so I removed batteries after charging them fully and stored on my desk, same result. I purchased the flexible light to use while camping but unless batteries are fully charged they wont even power the LEDs. I will be purchasing a different brand of AAs to test soon to try to isolate the issue. Upset.. like the idea/concept of goal zero but I probably wouldn't purchase other products because of this issue.

Battery Cut-Off Switch - Removable Key - Ultimate Theft Deterent!

Battery Cut-Off Switch - Removable Key - Ultimate Theft Deterent! For my PWC, there is simply nowhere to mount this bulky battery switch. I resorted to simply disconnecting the negative battery post instead of utilizing this item. The item, without the giant red key installed, occupies the volume of a baseball. ideally, you want to mount it to some sturdy part of the transom near the battery. In a PWC, however, space is limited. In order for me to use this, i'd have to do some risky drilling to properly mount the switch-not worth the hassle.

Waste of $15 for me, but outboard and I/O boat owners will have more space aboard their vessel to properly mount & use this thing, which will be very easy to enable. I have to assume the item aids in avoiding unnecessary battery drain during boat storage.

The product does not come with any explicit directions as to its operation or installation. both should be pretty self-explanatory.

This switch helps me save my batteries for when I need them, not my clock.

Ever go to do something on your RV that's been sitting for a month or more and there's no electricity.

Well put this in your battery main line. Shut it off when you don't need power. Turn it back on when your ready to start the refrigerator or put the slider out or anything related to your 12 volt needs.

Works Great. Just what the mechanic ordered.Battery Cut-Off Switch Removable Key Ultimate Theft Deterent!

Easy connection versus OE terminal. For sure made connecting two more assysories a lot easier. Also, corrosion doesn't seem to be an issue. I have these on a '97 TJ and they are constantly caked with mud and dirt and still provide clean power.

High-Light LED Transformers Decepticons Car Emblem Red

High-Light LED Transformers Decepticons Car Emblem RedLet's start with the basics. the emblem is 31/5" high x 3" wide. It has many LED lights inside and is nice and bright when you light it up. It looks awesome at night. The down side is that if you are going to put this on your car... 1st of all it is made out of plastic and the color will fade. Because it is plastic, when you look at it during the daytime it looks cheap. maybe for a bike or something for a kid it would look nice, but in my opinion, not on a car unless it is hidden behind something, like a grill or tinted window, so you can only see it when it is lit up. The item doesn't have a manual on how to install... but it is not needed. All it is, is a positive and a negative wire. no rocket science. you could even put a inline switch to turn it on or off. Or just install it to your ignition fuse box, so it turns on or off as soon as you turn the key. I am not going to return it, for maybe future use in something else, but for now it is not going on my car. I did purchase A different type of Decepticon emblem, also by Torchstar which looks a lot better.

Crimestopper RS4-G3 Remote Start System with Keyless Entry and Trunk Pop

Crimestopper RS4-G3 Remote Start System with Keyless Entry and Trunk PopI cant believe how much I got for under $50. My ladt one two years ago cost me $200. It had a few more features that I Dont really need. Alarm unit is small and easy to locate. Remote is a little heavy but is very sturdy being made of mainly metal.

Installation took me longer than expected around 4 hours but im pretty rusty. Directions were horrible but if you cant figure it out then you shouldnt be installing one. Again im not a professional but at least an hour of the installation was figuring out the instructions.

After hooking it up everything worked except for the remote start would not pickup the voltage correctly. It kept the starter engaged while it was running foe too long. I went through the menus and adjusted the voltage down and it started fine.

Another gripe is with one push of the remote start it starts. I have small kids and they play with my keys all the time. Well looking through the menus I changed it to two pushes of the button instead of one. I wanted to add this because another reviewer didnt know that you could change it.

Last thing is that it has only negative door lock/unlock pulses. If your car requires positive then you will have to run two relays. Look on the 12volt website. They show you how to wire it and the relays are sold with sockets at radio shack.

Hope my review helps potential buyers because im really happy with mine

when i saw the $55 price tag with the free shipping i was skeptical and did some research and it didn't take me long to rush back here to order it. i bought this for my 97' Chevy Silverado and installed it myself; i work on cars all the time so this was not to difficult but i do NOT suggest to anybody who hates electrical stuff or tight spaces or if you are clueless about cars to do it themselves. it is tedious and time consuming but when u push that start button its worth every second. i have had this product installed in my truck for few days now and the only thing i would change is how u push the start button once and the truck starts... be great if u had to push it in a pattern of some sort to prevent accidental starts. Other than that no complaints.ill keep this updated on how thing go and upload a video of it aswell. now my girlfriend even wants me to install one on her 2010 mustang!!!!!

I would DEFINITELY suggest this to ALL my friends!!!

Theres over 24 programmable settings so you can get this working how you want. The range is also great. I was able to remote start from my bed which is at least 150ft away from the car. If you want a reliable remote start system that can do everything your ignition can than this is the way to go. The instruction are straight forward so I had no problem at all. Just make sure you know what goes where on your car

This unit is well built and when married with the appropriate harness and bypass module it is a breeze to install (no cutting of any wires on my vehicle, 100% plug and play, and more details below). The remotes seem very well built and the system works as advertised (so far). Note that this is a 1 way unit, so no confirmation that your vehicle started during a blind start situation.

Pros:

Cheap price

Handles many vehicle configurations (by user programming)

Good customer support

Works very well with Fortin EVO bypass and T-HAR cables for quick/clean install (can be installed in under 1 hour)

Can use a data bus connection to the bypass that will allow for many functions with only a 4 pin connection

Cons:

Instructions may not be 100% accurate

Can be overwhelming, many wires and connections needed. Especially if T-HAR is not used

My experience:

I bought this system along with a THAR-CHR5 cable and Fortin EVO-ALL to be installed on my 2007 Dodge RAM 1500. I consulted a tech at crimestoppers by email prior to the order to ensure that I was in fact purchasing the correct components for my system. The technician replied within a day or two and was very helpful in confirming the proper configuration needed for my particular situation.

Once all items were received, I followed the directions supplied along with some directions found online on the manufacturer's website for how to install with this configuration. Had an issue with install where the instructions indicated that if my car did not have a certain connector that I would use an alternate install, took a little to figure out there was an alternate install, once this was realized I proceeded as instructed. With this preliminary install (wires twisted together, sitting on the floor of the truck) almost everything worked except for an issue with the remote start not staying started. It would start then run for about 5 seconds then shut down and start again. It would cycle like this until I cancelled the remote start. I was back on with the tech from the original email and he suggested trying some things, which I did with no luck. Ended up calling the tech support line and left a message. Received a call back within a few hours and after explaining the issue and talking over my current wiring scheme the tech suggested that another wire would have to be connected between the RS4-G3 and the bypass, (pink ignition wire from high current harness must be combined with the yellow ignition wires found on the EVO and low current connector) this was not outlined in any directions found in box or online. After this was complete, the system worked without fault. Had I known this I could have installed the system in much less than an hour. I ended up installing and tearing down a few times over the course of a week, soldering all the connections and pulling the pins out of the connectors that were not needed. This only took around an hour in total work time.

Want Crimestopper RS4-G3 Remote Start System with Keyless Entry and Trunk Pop Discount?

The price was good, but the directions are almost criminally bad. My friend, who has extensive professional experience with car electronics, is STILL traumatized from trying to properly install it. After visiting the Crimestopper website, combing the internet for insight, and calling in consultant buddies to assess the problem, he believes my 2002 Suburban needs an adapter part to make the remote starter work. So, I wait.

Unless you have a telepathic ability to understand incomprehensible schematics, and a desire to introduce a hefty dose of longsuffering to your life, buy this product here, then pay a "Remote Start System" professional to install it at the dealer's,

Arkon GPS032 Handlebar Mount for 3.5 - 4.3-Inch GPS Devices

Arkon GPS032 Handlebar Mount for 3.5 - 4.3-Inch GPS Devices
  • Easy to Install
  • Water resistant case fits GPS or Touch screen smartphone
  • Fits Bicycle and Motorcycle size handlebars up to 33mm in diameter
  • Compatible with most straight, drop, trekking, and touring size handlebars
  • Water resistant case fits GPS or Touch screen smartphone

I purchased this case for the sole use on my motorcycle (2000 Honda Magna). It fits great on the bike and is somewhat adjustable, it's not rock solid tight so I can move the entire unit to minimize the sun glare, the case itself is also adjustable! I had to add my own foam so the GPS screen would be flush with plastic case screen which I made out of some foam shipping material and cut using one of the supplied foam pieces as a template. My Magellan 1424 GPS power cord connects on the bottom of the unit which causes a very tight fit on the zipper, it is a 4.3 screen and doesn't fit flush in the viewing area as shown in the product picture; the one in the picture probably does not have the power cord connected or it connects at the back of the unit. It is harder to see during daylight hours through the screen because of glare but not unusable, I have no tried it at night. I also doubt I'll ever test the waterproof feature of the case but it is a solid unit and I'm confident it would keep water out! The case is very easy to remove from the bracket and take with you when away from the motorcycle. My GPS has voice commands and are not easily heard while riding; I've yet to figure how to mount a microphone in the case so I could hear the commands, not a big deal. Other than the plastic screen making it difficult to see minute details, I would recommend this case, very good quality product.

Buy Arkon GPS032 Handlebar Mount for 3.5 - 4.3-Inch GPS Devices Now

I purchased this "Waterproof" hard case to house my cell phone for an upcoming motorcycle trip. Upon its arrival, I looked it over and it didn't seem so waterproof to me. Firstly, the hole on the bottom is a rather large slit that doesn't seal tight around the cable. Secondly, the plastic window looks to be stitched in from the inside of the case with no glue around the edges, which could allow water to seep in. Thirdly, There is no seal or flap around the zipper to keep water out. A quick rinse under the faucet proved my suspicions. This thing leaks like Niagara Falls with water coming in through the zipper and seams. To me, when a product is advertised as "Waterproof", you should be able to hold it under water at some depth for some time and not have any leakage. We can get caught in some massive downpours here in Florida after-all. On Amazon, it is advertised as "Waterproof", but the included instructions say "Water Resistant". This is a blatant misrepresentation of it capabilities.

Other issues: The advertised size is 8x6x4 inches. My case measures 6x4x2 inches even though the model number matches the advertised one. The advertisement says it comes with 3 pieces of foam to customize the fit for your phone. Mine came with one hard thick piece of rubbery material that is not very customizable. The hole for the cable mentioned earlier is located at the bottom center of the case if using it horizontally. This isn't very conducive for cell phones that are normally used in a vertical fashion. Most cell phones have their connectors at the top or bottom when holding them vertically straight up and down. I simply don't have enough room to bend my cable around to make it to the hole with the way the connector sticks out from the bottom of the phone (see my size comments above).

Overall, I have never seen any product so misrepresented on Amazon such as this one. I am extremely disappointed.

All around good product,

PROS: mounts easy, houses my Garmin nuvi snug (comes with foam pads of different thickness'that you remove for the right fit)

I use a big windshield and in a heavy rain the Nuvi has yet to get wet inside the case.

My Nuvi does not have a plug in for an ear piece so I dont hear the turn warnings but that is not the fault of the mount.

CONS: The only con for this mount is that you cant see the screen very well in direct sunlight.

(I jury rigged a viser for it, it helps somewhat.

Good CaseI used it with a Garmin Nuvi 265 and then a 1300 on my Motorcycle. Rotary adjustment is good (~20 degrees in all directions). It seals up well too. Touchscreen operations are affected some by the clear plastic cover, but not bad. good price too.

When my wife and I were planning a 2 month motorcycle trip this year, I thought about buying a motorcycle GPS but considered the price ($500-$600) ridiculous. When I saw the Amazon listing for the Akron GPS032 Handlebar Mount for 3.5-4.3 inch GPS Devices it seemed like just what I was looking for. The mount installed easily on my Harley (Springer Softail) and I later found out it also fit and installed easily on the much larger diameter handlebars of my wife's HD Fatboy. I also purchased the Battery Tender female cigarette lighter type connecter which plugged conveniently into the Battery Tender pigtail that was already mounted on my bike.

I just placed my inexpensive GPS into the case, turned it on and then zipped it up, using the touch screen through the clear plastic front to put in my destinations. Anytime I was concerned somebody might steal the GPS off the bike at night, it was a snap to unzip the case and take out the GPS and to reinstall it in the morning. I am happy to report that after 58 days, 20 states plus Alberta, Canada, old route 66 from end to end, rain, sleet, a little snow and 9,566 miles, the mount stayed firmly attached (did not move due to vibration or bumps from the road), the GPS stayed dry and nothing on the mount cracked or broke. The GPS itself was sometimes hard to read because of the sun shining on it but that had nothing to do with the mount and I could usually cup my hand in such a way that I could read the GPS. I don't usually write reviews but I thought this well made, inexpensive product deserved one and the review may be of some value to fellow bikers.

XTG Technology 4-Port USB Car Charger - Quad Auto Power - Ideal for iPod, iPhone, GPS, Cell Phones

XTG Technology 4-Port USB Car Charger - Quad Auto Power - Ideal for iPod, iPhone, GPS, Cell Phones
  • Input: DC12V 1A max
  • Output: 5V= 600Ma 1.5A (For 1-4xUSB)
  • Charge up to devices at once from your vehicle's cigarette lighter
  • Power and charge up to 4 of your USB powered devices with the proper USB cable (not included)
  • Ultra Compact

Most usb devices charge using a standard 500mA usb output. Some devices require 1000mA 1500mA (1-1.5amps). While all 500mA devices charge just fine, this device apparently will not support 1500mA even if only powering a single device despite being rated at 2amps ttl.

So beware, you can charge up to 4 devices requiring 500mA but devices requiring 1500mA will likely not charge at all.

This is a great unit and is exactly as advertised Loving the numerous USB outlets. The power output isn't huge but works great with what I need (my iPod, and family's cell phones). A+

It worked pretty great for about a month and then (I guess) just blew out. So the lights are still lit, but it won't charge anything. I would definitely not recommend this.

Thankfully, Amazon did it's usual superb job of replacing it with just a few mouse clicks.

When the replacement arrived it was of a much simpler design and worked just fine.

Detail:

The original version I got had a slot in the back of the plug-in unit into which various plugs could be inserted to adapt it for the appropriate country/voltage/etc. My guess is that the connection between the adapter and the unit were not good and so it just didn't work.

The replacement unit which I received was made with the North American prongs already built in and no adapter was necessary for use here. The unit was packaged with adapters for UK and European use if needed. The just plug onto the NA prongs.

If you order this, see if you can determine which type will be sent to you or if you get the older-style version try to exchange it.

I was happy with this product, the shipping time was quick and the price was great! When I searched for this product in several different stores, it was never available and if I wanted any of the stores to order it in for me, the price was much higher than what I paid for it on Amazon.

The back of the packaging lists: StreetPilot i5, i3, i2, nuvi 680, 670, 610, 370, 360, 310, 270, 260, 250, 200, 250W, 200W. Only by checking the Garmin website for the nuvi 750, and in particular the item number 10-10723-00, was I sure that the AC charger I received was in fact for the nuvi 750. It was a little confusing.

Black & Decker TC212B Travel Cooler & Warmer

Black & Decker TC212B Travel Cooler & WarmerBefore retiring I drove a tractor trailer cross country for over 20 years, and used a similar but larger chest cooler nearly all that time. These things work great if you use them properly. Unless you are willing to wait a long time for things to cool down, you MUST cool items down before putting them in the cooler," The colder the better " Also if you cool the inside of the cooler first, that would help even more. Try not to pack your food into it to tightly, it needs a little space between items for cold air to circulate.

According to Amazons product description this cooler is supposed to have a low battery cut off, that turns the cooler off if you forget to turn it off and your battery gets low. I have had this cooler over a year now with no problems since I turned it off when not in use. The other day I forgot to turn it off, the battery was dead the next day. So use caution and make sure it is off when not in use. Evidently the low battery cutoff on my cooler is not working properly. That's of course if it actually has a low battery cutoff, you can't always depend in what they say. There photo is wrong, so maybe there cutoff description is wrong also.

This is handy if you buy some hot food out,and are not going home immediately (ie; Chinese food, rotisserie chicken, hot wings, etc.)or are going on the road and want to take some hot food with you, or want to buy some fast food to eat later just put it in the cooler and turn it on the heat cycle. Everything will still be toasty hot when you get ready to eat it. If traveling a AC/DC Converter is a must if you need to keep things cold in a motel, or for an extended stop that has a 110 volt AC wall outlet to plug it into. The Black & Decker CV6B Travel Mate 6.0 Amp AC/DC Converter will do the job. This cooler works well, it is also quite sturdy and very nice looking. The top of the cooler is a cushion for a arm rest or even to sit on, it is that well made. With it's sholder strap, it's easy to carry to a ball game, concert, the beach etc. If you put a long lasting Techni-Ice Travel Pouch inside, everything will remain cold for the entire event. The side zippered storage compartment is a decent size, and has room to hold your utensil's and smaller condiment's. The plug in cord is 6 ft.long, so you should have option's on where you want to place the cooler.

UPDATE: June 2010 ::: I have had this cooler close to 3 years now and it is still working great " except the low battery cut off mentioned above " I use it regularly since it is always in my vehicle. Comes in handy to put cold cuts and perishables in after shopping, when I am not going home immediately.

You can also check out my review on the larger Koolatron Voyager Thermoelectric Cooler P-27,which I also have and use in the event I have to take extra with me on a longer trip. A Thumb's up on this review would be very nice, Thank you.

NOTE!!! THE AMAZON PHOTO IS NOT THE CORRECT COOLER. Model TC212B HAS A STORAGE COMPARTMENT ON THE SIDE,( Check out my Customer Image )

I purchased this keep my wife's insulin cool on a trip from California to Tennessee. We crossed the desert in the beginning of August and the cooler did what it was supposed to do. While it didn't keep the insulin refrigerator cold, it was cool about 50 degrees I estimate. It also served the secondary purpose of keeping water and sodas cool for the drive. If it had kept things closer to refrigerator cool, I'd have given it 5 stars.

We just took a trip out west (5,000 miles round trip!) and this product worked quite well!! All the food was chilled and kept just like a refrigerator. My only complaint(and not a very fair one at that!) is that when you turn off the car to go somewhere for a few hours it doesn't keep the food cold anymore, because the car isn't on. But it does do everything it claims to do! :D I def reccomend this product.

I bought this for my husband so he has something to keep his food toasty on the below freezing days when he is working out in the fieldunable to warm his lunch. He works outside year around so in the winter it works superb to heat his food straight out of the fridge to a nice tempperfect for eating at lunch. He hasn't been able to test it out in summer yet but assuming the cooling part is as good as the heatingit was money well spent!

So far so good. I was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews but I liked the looks of the item and all the reviews of different brands seemed to be the same. This was a Father's Day present for my husband and he loves it. He works on jobsites and is at the mercy of the heat all day. He says it works great and does not kill the battery on his truck. He does however boost the cold a little by adding a small freezer pack inside so that everything stays extra cold. I would recommend this product.

Kensington K39265US Charging Dock with Mini Battery Pack for iPhone and iPod, including iPhone 4 an

Kensington K39265US Charging Dock with Mini Battery Pack for iPhone and iPod, including iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S
  • Dock simultaneously charges your iPhone (including iPhone 4) or iPod and Mini Battery Pack
  • Included rechargeable Mini Battery Pack adds hours of power when on the go
  • Includes detachable USB charging and syncing cable
  • Compact and convenient for recharging in the home or office
  • Charges your iPhone or iPod even when in a case

My wife, my son and I all bought Verizon iPhones as soon as they became available. I wanted to buy docks for each of us for ease of charging, and when I saw this dock with the mini battery pack I thought it was a great idea. My old Windows Mobile phone had an extended battery and I was a little worried that the iPhone battery life would be less than what I was used to, so I figured that it would be nice to have the mini battery pack for times when I was out of power.

As a charger, this dock is attractive and reliable. It comes with two inserts, one for the iPhone 3 and one for the iPhone 4. I use the iPhone 4 insert, and my Verizon phone fits into the dock nice and snugly. I do need to slip off the bottom part of my Splash Cruiser case to make the phone fit; this is not a problem for me as I find this very easy to do. If I take out the insert, then the phone fits into the dock and charges while still in the case; however, I do not like to do this as it feels as though accidentally knocking the phone while in this position might cause the connector to bend. I have a wooden charging station that has 3 positions on the top for me to place 3 of these Kensington docks, one for each iPhone owner in my family. This allows the black power supplies to be hidden in the body of the charging station and is quite an elegant solution. We quickly got into the habit of placing our phones on the dock to charge each night.

The mini battery pack fits onto the dock behind the phone. As some other reviewers have mentioned, it is a little fiddly to place the battery on the dock, especially with one hand, but I use the battery infrequently enough that this does not concern me. The battery has 3 blue LEDs and one green one; the blue ones illuminate to indicate the state of charge of the battery, and the green one lights when it is fully charged. So normally you will have a green LED permanently glowing on the battery on your dock. I don't mind it as it is not particularly bright and fairly subtle.

I have now owned my iPhone about 2 months and have only needed to use the mini battery pack about 3 times. I have been pleasantly surprised by the life of the iPhone battery. My battery has only ever fully discharged when I have spent hours playing Scrabble on my phone, or using the Kindle reader, or surfing on the web. On these occasions it has been extremely handy to plug the mini battery pack into my phone and continue using it. After fully discharging the phone's main battery, it takes about 5 minutes after plugging in the mini battery pack before the phone can be used. The red battery icon appears, just as though you have plugged the phone into a real charger, as the main iPhone battery starts to recharge. After the 5 minutes or so I find I have at least two or three hours of use from the phone with the mini battery pack attached (I have never exhausted the mini battery pack the times I have used it). I do need to slide off the bottom part of my Splash Cruiser case in order to properly attach the mini battery pack to the phone, which is not a big deal for me.

My teenage son tends to forget to charge his phone more often than I do, and the battery pack has been more useful for him. Also, my daughters have iPod Touches (3G) and the mini battery works fine with these devices too, which is great when my 5 year old daughter wants to play Doodle Jump but her iPod Touch is out of power.

In retrospect buying 3 docks with mini batteries was probably overdoing it, as we have never needed all 3 batteries at the same time. We would certainly have been fine with two of these mini battery docks and one normal dock. But I would definitely recommend having at least one of these docks in your home for iPhone owners.

i bought this for my bf and have seen what it can do. this product is great for its price. we recently put it to the test last night while waiting 4 hours in line for tron legacy at imax. his cell was down to about 65% and he had brought his fully charged charger, this product i'm reviewing, and while waiting on line, and still using his iphone for downloading updates, playing games, checking emails and such, he was able to get almost an additional 40% charge off this lil charger i got him. that was perfect! so if he was just using it to charge it could well be above 40% charge. the dock holds both the iphone 4 and battery nice and sturdy, it even provides a small connect base so all the weight of the iphone isnt on the prongs of the charger. its very easy to hookup. i'd recommend this item to anyone who uses their iphone all day and find themselves with very lil left by the end of their night, and still are out and about in the city or just away from home for that extra boost of power.

This product does what its supposed to do charges your phone and give you a battery pack. However, I find that placing either the phone or the battery on the dock requires such a precise placement that it can be pretty annoying. I put mine on the nightstand, and there is no way to put the battery back on the charger with using both hands and having a clear view of the full dock and, even then, it can be difficult to line up. The phone is easier, but something about it seems a little tight, such that it can feel like it might break or scratch your phone when placing it on the dock. Also, you have to press down on the phone pretty hard. If you don't, you may find that sometime in the night it decided it wasn't connected well enough and didn't charge your phone. Overall, it is just too picky to be a convenient dock.

Charges phone conveniently as expected. The extra battery charger is invaluable for those situations when you are low on juice and don't have the time or a place to charge. Quality look and feel. I recommend this product.

I now own three of these, one for my home office, and two for each side of the bed (my husband and I both have iPhones). I love the way the phone sits in it, tilted slightly up. It's easy to read messages if I'm working at my desk. And the backup battery is a wonderful bonus! I paid over $40 each for the first two, so this price is an amazing bargin.

The negative review states that it's difficult to get the phone in the cradle, even after lots of use. I agree, it does surprise me that I still have to pay attention each time. It doesn't help that the iPhone's connector isn't centered at the bottom. But that's a pretty minor issue for me. It's still a great charger and a great bargin.

Battery Tender 021-0128 Battery Tender Plus 12V Battery Charger

Battery Tender 021-0128 Battery Tender Plus 12V Battery ChargerEvery time I want to fire up my old 71 Datsun (that's Nissan for those of you younger than 30) 240 Z there's a good chance that the battery has drained down and that I can't start it! Looking around at car forums I read about this nifty little gadget....It's like a battery trickle charger....sort of. Whereas it's not recommended to keep a trickle charger hooked up all the time, this one has circuitry to limit the current and sense when the battery needs charging. It only charges at 1.25 amps which is easier on the battery.

I've had it on for a month now and it's great. The first couple of days, the red light was on indicating charging. Since then it's been on green and the car starts right up. I live in Houston where the heat and humidity can be just as brutal on batteries as the cold.

I highly recommend this "tender" for those that have cars that stay unused for long periods.

As other reviews have mentioned it comes with a set of adapters that allow you to permanently attach pigtails to the battery posts and then you can quickly connect the tender without having to use the alligator clips (also included).

For the price and free shipping you can't go wrong!

UPDATE after two years of use.

I can now reconfirm that these battery tenders work great I've had them hooked up continuously on two cars that stay in the garage a lot and I've NEVER had them not start right up. A quick glance at the LED display lets me know that the batteries are either charging or fully charged. It's a real pleasure to be able to go right up and enjoy your wheels without having to worry about whether the battery is dead. I can't say for sure, but I suspect that it lengthens the life of the battery as well.

This little gizmo is dynamite.

I have a 4 year old Accord that, due to circumstance, only has about 4400 miles. Rarely driven...and what driving is done is mostly at night.

Sat for a week once in very cold weather...dead battery.

Ordered this. Hooked it up. 100% charge and the battery is very powerful once again.( had thought I would probably need a new one).

It's very small size makes it extremely easy to use and store. And it will not overcharge, so you do not have to babysit the process.

It's LEDs glow red when charging. Green and red blink once 80% has been achieved. Solid green at 100%.

It did, in very cold weather, take a long time to establish a full charge on my almost completely discharged battery. The battery would have been usable in a few hours, but 100% took close to 18.

Highly recommended.

I have an older version of this charger that I bought in the mid 90's. I used it to maintain my garaged Mustang's battery over the winter months for many years. I made a cigarette lighter adapter so all I needed to do was to plug it in instead of using the alligator clips. I have to say this thing is dead reliable! It always kept my battery in prime condition. I love it and recommend it highly.

I bought one, for my own use and spent much time reading Deltran's website, and the finally the info that came with the Deltran unit.

Over all, Works well, made well (vented metal case). I've been testing it on a 55ah AGM.

I have a lot of background in battery chargers. Based on my review of the unit I bought, I wanted to maybe offer some general practical help for those that can't find all the info they need for guidance before they but such a product.

The price at Amazon makes it worth it, but not list at the OEM's site. The OEM list price is pricey for the Battery Tender Plus, the Battery Tender Jr is about 1/2 (based on the OEM price), and can take care of much of the same duties.

While I've read all I could from their site, all their advertising pre-sale doesn't warn that it may not charge a large cell that has been properly discharged. Once I bought my Battery Tender Plus, I found liteature comes with the charger that warns you of this..

I figured as much and bought it as a compliment to my smart bulk chargers that aren't good maintainers. The reason.......

If the power is interrupted on any of my bulk chargers, they don't come back to the correct profile, just the profile for 2amp charge for a wet cell general. Not the AGM profile.

The Deltran being a dedicated maintainer doesn't suffer from this problem.

If the power was to be cycled, it would just go through it's profile again. And since it's such low current, no harm.

These Tenders are Great for when the bulk charger is taken care else where on the larger RV, boat, or secondary car battery. Your primary car battery is charged by the alternator, and when you store the car you need to take care of the self discharge issue and any parasitic loads that will discharge your car's battery while in storage... the Battery Tender Plus is great for that.

As well as the Battery Tender Jr, if you have very little or no parasitic loads.

(if your parasitic loads are too great, you may need to disconnect the battery from the vehicle for storage if the parasitic drain/loads comes close to the tender's rating, it wont do it's job and your battery wont be a happy battery)

I've been testing the Battery Tender Plus on my optima AGM, and on maintenance float, the battery is only pulling a .01a at 13.2vdc. Just right. The profile was just about perfect, per optima's spec and other AGM's spec, and perfect for wet cells (normal car batteries).

If you have larger parasitic loads, the Battery Tender Plus (1.25a) will be a better choice. But if you pull your battery lead of have little or no parasitic loads, the Battery Tender Jr will work well and save you money over the Battery Tender Plus.

(Again, remember if your parasitic loads are too great, you may need to disconnect the battery from the vehicle for storage if the parasitic drain/loads comes close to the tender's rating, it wont do it's job and your battery wont be a happy battery)

For a motorcycle battery, the Battery Tender Plus is probably the end all charger.

But for the larger batteries, neither Tender will serve as a bulk charger. To protect your battery investment, get a good smart bulk charger (not the cheapo dumb bulk chargers) with the right profiles, and use the Deltan Battery Tender Plus or Battery Tender Jr for storage.

After the testing I've done (monitored and recorded voltage, current, and temps to see what the profiles are of the chargers), for my storage use, I could have gotten away with the Battery Tender Jr @.75a, for my storage "tender" of a single 55ah optima agm battery.

Want Battery Tender 021-0128 Battery Tender Plus 12V Battery Charger Discount?

I recently purchased a Deltran Battery Tender Plus (they are made in China) battery charger for a total cost of $63.30. It has never worked correctly from the first day I got it. It charges great, but it never goes into the "storage" mode, or notifies you that the battery is at 80% charged. It apparently just keeps charging the battery whether it needs it or not.

I contacted Deltran's "technical" department a few times about the problem, and told them that I suspected the charger was faulty, but they kept telling me it was the battery, or "check this" or "check that" or "the weather was too cold" (in Florida), even though I had told them the battery was new. So, figuring they knew what they were talking about, I purchased another brand new battery at the cost of $79.92.

I left the "new" battery on this charger for a few days, and it was the same thing as the "old" battery. The charger never showed a full charge or went into storage mode.

So now that the equipment that this battery is from has been out of service for a couple of weeks, (because Deltran recommended I remove the battery from the equipment since I was having a problem charging it), and I couldn't afford to fiddle around any longer, I bought a competitors battery charger for $46.45, and as it turns out after connecting the new charger, within a matter of a few minutes both the "old" and the "new" batteries showed fully charged, and the new (competitors) charger went into "storage" mode with no problem.

Now that I knew for sure that this Deltran Battery Tender Plus charger was not working properly, I reviewed the Battery Tender Plus "LIMITED" 10 year warranty, and found out they (Deltran) wants a $9.95 "handling" fee (if you have had the charger over 90 days), and if you have the original sales receipt, if you want to send it in for repair.

If you don't have the original receipt, then it is a $15.95 "handling" fee no matter how long you have had it.

Having wasted about 2weeks fiddling with 2different batteries and 2different chargers all because the Deltran Battery Tender Plus did not work correctly in the first place, I am not about to spend another $15.95 "handling" fee (because I don't have the original receipt) plus shipping (maybe $10.00) to return it to Deltran for exchange/repair, and then wait another week or two to get the charger back and have to hope that it now works correctly.

Deltran also told me that since I did not buy the Battery Tender Plus in question directly from them, I would need to send it back to where I originally purchased it. Not having the original receipt (because I bought it someplace online and don't remember where), I asked Deltran what's the difference where I purchased it since they (Deltran) are the manufacturer and supply the warranty as well, and I was told that "it is the same as trying to return a Chevrolet to a Ford dealership". That I don't understand, because if a person has a problem with a Chevrolet, they can take it to any Chevy dealer in the country and have it fixed (and maybe any GM dealer).

They also said in so many words that I should have known sooner that the charger was defective, which must mean that their "technical" department is not fully competent to be advising anyone, and that I should have not paid any attention to their suggested remedies in the first place.

Because of the investment of time and money I now have in this Battery Tender Plus, and the poor "technical" support I received from Deltran, I would never buy another one and would not recommend it to anyone else. Their 10 year "LIMITED" warranty is also a joke. Battery Tender PlusSucks! It should be called Battery Tender Negative!.
