The width of the spade is about the same as the hole you thread the cable through. The product is okay and I may be able to use these in the future, if I buy a McIntosh, but it is misrepresented. These are barrier strip spades and will not fit on normal binding posts.

  • Intelligent circuit provides precise output voltage and resistor configuration specific to the TomTom Go 920 920T. This ensures battery is safely and efficiently charged without affecting battery longevity.
  • Gomadic TipExchange Technology protects your investment by providing a means to change/upgrade your charger by simply swapping the physical charging tip. (Charging tip for TomTom Go 920 920T) included with additional tips sold separately)
  • Power Sleep"" feature will cut power draw of charger by over 99% when not in use. Charger will draw less than 0.1W of power when in ""ready state"" (e.g. not connected to the TomTom Go 920 920T).
  • Straight, non-coiled cable design allows for easy routing of your charger around vehicle trim for a more professionally installed look. Durable construction is built to last.

I took a chance on this charger not seeing any reviews. It fit my Tomtom 920 without shorting it out. It seems as well made as any of the other Chinese crap out there. I didn't expect it to be made of iron and brass. Although I would pay more for one that was. All in all I'm happy with the company and product. I like the idea of the interchangeable tips. I could really use a cheeseburger right now. Wow that was off topic. If you need a charger for a TomTom Go 920 buy this one.

Husky Liners 99753 WeatherBeater Tan Front and 2nd Seat Floor Liner

Husky Liners 99753 WeatherBeater Tan Front and 2nd Seat Floor LinerThe color was just a little off of what the picture shows it is tan not gold color as shown . Really liked the floor mats fit perfect in the car no trouble to install much better buy than getting mats off the rack at a auto store.

These mats were designed for my car thus fit perfect. Quality is excellent. The only draw back is the mats don't match my tan interior. I had two options for colors, one being tan and the other black. Black shows every speck of dirt, so tan was my only choice. I wish the tan was a closer match to the cars interior, but I'm still glad I didn't purchase black. I'll learn to live with these.

HTC Droid Incredible 2 (Verizon) Adjustable Car Windshield Dash Mount Cradle Holder Kit + Micro USB

HTC Droid Incredible 2 Adjustable Car Windshield Dash Mount Cradle Holder Kit + Micro USB Rapic Car Charger G14This works fine, seems well built. The only issue is the long arm wobbles a bit, use caution if you have an older, shaky vehicle. Also, the charger that comes with is functional but very cheap.

Have used this for 2 weeks, maintains its grip on dash/windshield. The arm is strong and will maintain its position even when placing or removing the phone from its holder. Inexpensive, and the car charger seems like an extra.

Sierra Tools Battery-Operated Liquid Transfer Pump, Model# JB5684

Sierra Tools Battery-Operated Liquid Transfer Pump, Model# JB5684I decided to take a chance with this product after running all over town to find something like it. Since I live in "hurricane country" the need to transfer gasoline for use in generators, etc is present all the time. I store the gas for my generator in 5 gallon cans, which when full, are very heavy. I was skeptical, but it worked better than I expected. It took me about 4-5 minutes to pump 2.5 gallons into my generator tank. I did not have to lift the can and did not risk spilling gas. Since it is battery powered it can be used when the power is out. All in all, I would recommend it for the average home user as long as it's not for heavy duty use.

This item works as described and is exactly what I need. The new gas tanks purchased from CA are, as you likely know, horrible on the environment, your back, and the gas bill. This item lets me pump the gas without spilling fuel all over. It pumps about 5 gallons in five-ten minutes. Not speedy, but it is reasonable and gives me time to tend to other matters. (I pump two 5 gal tanks onto my boat right at my dock.)

The hose included is cheap material, so be prepared to buy a higher quality and longer hose. (3/4 inside dia. with a hose clamp. 5' is what I have.) Also unless this pump is exactly upright it will leak a little through the vent hole, not a big deal, just set it well and you're good.

It is simple construction so I expect it will last quite a while. The parts are lightweight and seem a little cheap, otherwise it'd get 5 stars.

I have a bad back, and it has been difficult to fill the gasoline tank on my lawn tractor and generator when gas can is nearly full. Even not full, it requires holding the tank at an odd angle. I did not have high expectations for this, but thought it would be worth a try.

The answer after my first try: It exceeded all expectations. The flow was fast enough to fill my tank in a minute or so (maybe less), but slow enough to feel easily controllable. The plastic outlet tube has a couple of places where it can bend easily without crimping (a bellows kind of arrangement like a kids bendy-straw). The switch is conveniently located on the top of the handle. When you turn off the switch the flow stops quickly and both the outlet hose and the 'wand' in the tank drain quickly. When I took it out of the tank, there were no drips, though not surprisingly it still smelled of gas. (I left it outside in the sun for a while and then stored it in a sheltered, but outside location.)

I half expected it to say "not for flammable liquds" or something. It did warn about not using it for paint thinner, but it is pretty explicit about being ok for gasoline. Note that the pump impeller is at the bottom of the wand that sticks in the gas tank, and the motor, switch, and batteries at the top so the electrical stuff is fairly far from the gasoline.

One possible caveat: They warn not to pump to a level higher than the top of the wand. I'm not sure why that is. I don't imagine that pump has ALL that much lift It was ok for my tractor, but I'm not sure if it will be for the generator. Another thing, when I put the gas can on the ground beside the tractor (actually in a little wagon so I can wheel the gas can out), the clear hose was just long enough to reach. I expect you could extend it but then you have to worry about a leaking splice.

Caution: I would guess that if you were pumping from a higher place to a lower place, you could start a siphon that would not stop when you turned off the switch. I would also not recommend using it the way it is shown in the picture, holding the tank with one hand and the hose with the other (and not holding the wand). The wand is a bit top heavy with the batteries in the top (2 D-cells) plus I want my hand on the switch at all times. I put the tank on a little cart that lifted it high enough to use.

So if is not for everything. Like one of the reviewers says, it is NOT for pumping out of a car gas tank. You need a long straight shot into the tank you are pumping from. The bendy-plastic pipe is for the outlet side. However, with all the cautions, it is exactly what *I* wanted, hence the 5-star rating.

===========================

Update December 2009: Ok, I now know why you should not pump to a place higher than the pump...apparently something above the outlet for the plastic tubing is not sealed, so if the tubing outlet is higher, it can leak. The leak runs down the suction pipe, not all over the place, but it is still disconcerting.

I still like this unit...you just have to follow the directions.

Oh, and btw, if you look at the review it says the product is not available. It is, if you search for it by name. And this review is there too. Odd.

Ah, what hopes we all have for a bargain. And most anything under $10 is just that. And yet... and yet... along comes the JB4840 Battery Operated Liquid Transfer Pump. Now, we live out in the hinterlands of Georgia don't get much more hinter than this and we needed something simple to, well, transfer liquids... fuel a small tractor, remove water from the catch basin around the old Christmas tree. Ol' JB arrives... works for 3 minutes... we put it away, our new and treasured bargain... we take it out for its big presentation to Georgian mechanized society... she don't work no more. We go through 3 sets of batteries, just to be sure... nothing. Alas, a fool and his $10 soon are parted. Don't try to check the seals; the thing is held together by faith alone, fashioned of plastic fittings cheaper than the promise of a local politician (school board AND county). I've given it one star because of the bright colors on the box. Perhaps the box will work as a siphon? I envy those who have been able to use theirs once, let alone twice.

Garmin Vehicle DC Power Adapter for eTrex and Geko (010-10203-00)

Garmin Vehicle DC Power Adapter for eTrex and Geko
  • Plugs into any standard cigarette lighter
  • compatible with eTrex Camo®, eTrex Legend®, eTrex Legend® H, eTrex Summit®, eTrex Venture®, eTrex Vista®, eTrex Vista® H, Geko 201 and Geko 301
  • Conserves battery life
  • Convenient and easy to use
  • Genuine Garmin-quality product

Although the eTrexes were really designed for use in the outdoors, I use it in the car to help predict distance to go, etc., and if I have the local map downloaded to it, it has helped me out of binds on a couple of occasions. If you use it in the car, you really want this adaptor to save your batteries.

Not only will it save the batteries, but I can operate my Legend in normal mode to get better position from the WAAS data. (Battery saver mode precludes the use of WAAS and normal mode can really drain the batteries rather quickly.) (BTW, there is no scientific reason for reception to be better because of using this adapter.)

The cord is generously long. In fact, it can get in the way sometimes, but may allow the unit to be passed to the back seat so your back seat navigator can monitor it.

I have only two minor complaints. The first is the price. The Garmin Legend gives a lot of feature for the price, but Garmin seems to make up for it with the price of the accessories. It seems this adaptor should cost half what it does.

The second is that the fuse is accessed by screwing off the center of the cigarette plug, and the center piece has unscrewed itself on a couple of occasions now, leaving several small parts strewn about. I had to dig in my glove compartment this weekend for all of the little parts, and am waiting for the day I lose one for good. So be careful that the center is always screwed in.

I use this with the suction cup mount, which works quite well on glass. (But again, seems kind of expensive for what it is.)

This product is a must if you use your GPS in your car. It will save you many, many batteries. I like the quality. It feels solid. The LED on the lighter plug is useful. It indicates that you have power. The piece that snaps into the eTrex seems to connect well. It's never come unplugged after rolling around in my truck. The cord is plenty long for my needs--about four feet. My only complaint is the cost. The price was a little more than I would liked to have spent, but it's the only game in town.

All I require of this cable is that it plug easily into both my car and my Garmin Venture and then power my Venture. It does that swimmingly, just as it should.

The only aggravation has nothing to do with the cable: when you remove the cable, the Garmin will power down unless you hit a button telling it not to. I would often have the GPS hooked up in the car, get to the parking spot, then remove the cable in order to go and and get to the geocache. At which point the GPS would turn off (because I'd forget about the power down), and I'd have to wait around for the satellites to be found again.

I'm sure this thing works fine on some GPS units... but it's less than clear that this adaper WILL NOT WORK on the Legend or Vista. The title is misleading (it says "most" eTrex), the Product Description is just wrong (it says "all" eTrex). FOR The eTrex LEGEND or VISTA, you need a different adapter!!

This adapter is functional, is easy to use, enables continued use of backlight, and saves the batteries for walking with the eMap after arriving in a strange town. When I want to connect other media while driving with my family, I use a 12v 3-Outlet Car Power Adapter. Despite another wire, it's a worthwhile accessory.

Moroso 74175 Battery Cable Terminal

Moroso 74175 Battery Cable TerminalI had the dealer replace the original battery terminals on my wife's 1998 truck and after seeing the crappy clamp on terminals installed, I knew there had to be a better way. None of the local parts houses stocked this type of terminal end so it's off to Amazon. There was just enough cable left from the dealers install to make these work with a much more professional look. To install, clean and twist the end of the cable tight, insert the cable ends through the nut, and screw into the terminal. If you have more than a simple one or two wire connection you will need something larger like the DB Link BTN1 DB Link BTN1 Negative Battery Terminal and DB Link BTP2 DB LINK BTP2 Positive Battery Terminal.

I ordered two of these. The first one broke as I tightened it up. Two of the tangs on the part that screws in broke off, and the screwed in part cocked relative to the axis of the main casting. I could feel the resistance drop like a stripped thread when this happened. The screwed in part was not fully seated yet. So I tried again with my second item, and the same thing happened. I was using the correct gauge wire (2 gauge) for these parts. Either the quality control or the design is lacking. They looked great online, but they are now in the garbage, and a different type of terminal end is on it's way to my house.

Optima 75/35 OPTIMA 9022-091 REDTOP 12V 720 AMP

Optima 75/35 OPTIMA 9022-091 REDTOP 12V 720 AMPBattery was dead after about 10 months of service & I had to explained to the local dealer about the warranty & paid them $57.00 to get a replacement which makes this battery extremely expensive.

I've had 4 of these batteries in the last 2 1/2 years. They die on me every 3-6 months. These batteries are made to absolutely no standards. No heavy loads, they just up and stop working right. I've only had 4 because after I bought the first at Pep Boys, they've exchanged the successive bad ones.

We have a professional battery test machine at work. I tested battery 4 after receiving it and letting it charge and it was only putting out 85% of it's rated power. That's 15% lost just sitting on the shelf.

I'm about to go in for a 5th and I will not be putting it in my car. Instead, I'll be buying a DieHard Platinum from Sears.

I own two of these batteries. The older (5 years) was retired from its primary duty and still serves as an emergency power source during our frequent winter power outages. The newer (3 years) is the power source for the anchor windlass on our 34 ft. sailing catamaran. The 18 kg anchor is served by 100 ft of chain and 500 ft. of nylon line. The battery has never failed us.

Black & Decker MSW100 Ready Wrench

Black & Decker MSW100 Ready WrenchThis tool is a great idea, but the B&D version isn't a great tool.

The problem is that it attempts to fit both SAE and metric sizes. While there are a few sizes that are very close (19mm and 3/4" are within 1%, 16mm is about 5/8"), most of the sizes are not. That means this wrench is sloppy on almost every fastener. The looseness combined with the flat six point sides puts pressure on just the tips, leading to rounded nuts and bolt heads.

I still see the potential of this design. Craftsman has individual tools for metric and SAE, and I've put the metric one on my Christmas list to see if that version lives up to my hopes.

In my home shop, I have a variety of power tools that require height and tension adjustments and use machine bolts and screws for that purpose. I like a clutter free shop and sometimes the need to have a ratchet and a handful of sockets out is a bit annoying, this item helps alleviate that.

As advertised and already listed, this wrench has 16 of the most frequent socket sizes installed on one hand tool. I can dial the socket size I need and not have to frequently pull out a socket set. I do work on my lawnmower and I also take apart, store, and pull back out furniture items that use nuts and bolts also. Would I say that this one tool would replace a mechanic's tool set? No, probably not. But it does make life a little easier for me. If I need to perform any car repair, I do have my ratchet sets. If I am under the car and in difficult spots under the hood, a ratchet still is the best choice. It may ,however, be quite useful as a breaker bar.

Special items to note -

1. The sockets are 6 point and not the cheaper 12 point versions. For those that are unfamiliar with the difference, professionals will use 6 point sockets because they have less of a tendency to round over bolts. 12 point sockets can do a lot of damage to a bolt when applied with too much torque. I am pleased they went with the higher end sockets.

2. This tool, in most situations, will reduce the need for deep sockets and will reduce the amount of times you need to use a wrench instead of a socket. Sometimes bolts are long and when you attempt to use a socket, the socket is too short to fit over the bolt. I run into this when assembling and disassembling my kitchen table. I have to use a wrench because the socket bottoms out on the bolt before touching the nut. The way this is designed, the bolt (most times) could slide through the socket on the opposite side, allowing the socket to grip the nut firmly.

3. Only complaint of this tool (and not really a large one) is that the 45 and 90 degree stops for the sockets do not lock. There is a stop for the angles, but not a full locking mechanism. During high torque situations, this might make for more tricky situations. This is where the choice of using 6 point, rather than 12 point sockets is a large factor.

Buy Black & Decker MSW100 Ready Wrench Now

I bought this as a gift for my father and one for myself. We both love this tool. It does not replace a large socket set completely, but it does replace 90% of the socket use I have. The sizes they have on this are by far the most commonly used sizes. The build on the items seems very high quality as well. It can be a bit tough in really tight places where racheting is important, but overall for most applications this does the trick. It is nice to not have to search my sockets for the right size. It is all in one here, so no chance of losing them. A great idea from Black and Decker!

Read Best Reviews of Black & Decker MSW100 Ready Wrench Here

Due to the design and size, this wrench does not work in about 65% of the situations tried. Also the standard/metric use for each socket head is no good. If either the metric or standard sizes fit well and tight, then the opposite on the same socket head does not. Very poor product.

Want Black & Decker MSW100 Ready Wrench Discount?

I titled this "Almost" because it almost fits American and almost fits Metric. I have always considered Black & Decker tools for quick and easy projects. And this wrench fits the bill. I have a lot of their battery power tools so I do understand their uses and limitations. I went out to my garage and tried this wrench on a variety of different nuts and bolts. Whatever nuts and bolts fit loosely in the wrench I tried them with an American socket or a metric socket just to see the difference. In all cases, the right socket fit more precisely, which was to be expected.

I've been a shade tree mechanic (my hubby is writing this) since my teen years so I've always tried to use the proper tool for the proper job. Would I use this tool for any serious work, probably not. But I don't believe it was designed for that purpose. Would I grab this wrench to go tighten a nut or bolt? Probably so if I didn't have to apply a great amount of torque to the nut or bolt, especially if the socket fit loosely. I don't believe this six sided socket would allow you to round the corners of a bolt or nut if the fit was close.

I knows this tool was not intended to be the fit all of all wrenches, but it does have its place in your tool bin.

Griffin Technology PowerPod Firewire Auto Charger for iPod

Griffin Technology PowerPod Firewire Auto Charger for iPod
  • Convenient cigarette lighter adapter charges iPod while you drive
  • Charges in both standby mode and while playing music
  • Fits into any 12V accessory outlet or car lighter jack
  • Includes 4-foot cable with dock connector on one end, Firewire port on the other (connects to PowerPod)
  • Compatibility: iPod nano (1G and 2G), iPod mini, 3G iPod, 4G iPod with click wheel, iPod Color, iPod Video

I'm not someone that spends all day on the road, but I do take enough trips and even use my iPod around town. Ipod car chargers can incredibly overpriced as can a simple firewire cable. So It's a bargin to get not only a car charger, but an extra firewire cable, so I can leave one plugged into my Mac all the time.

Looking for a car charger, I noticed this one had a removable FireWire cable which meant I could use any other cable I want. Now that I've upgraded to the new iPod (I got a new 15 GB) I was suprised to discover that it works with the new iPods too. I just use the dock-to-FireWire cable that comes with the new iPod and it works perfectly. Even IF I buy an extra dock cable, it's still less than the Belkin charger at 40 bucks. Plus I can use it interchangeably with my wife's iPod (my old one ;).

All in all, the PowerPod is a great value, flexable and future-proof. You can't ask for much more. I don't hesitate recommending this iPod charger to anyone.

When I initially bought my iPod Mini I did not purchase this, but I soon found out if you play your iPod constantly like I do, you will be in dire straights if you don't have one. Some people will complain that the portion that goes in the cigarette lighter is loose ow whatnot keep in mind that different cars have different lighter sizes although they may vary slightly. I drive a Nissan Maxima and it fits very well...the cord is a wee bit short in my opinion but still worth the investment to keep your iPod playing.

This is my second (and counting) Griffin accessory for my iPod mini. First I bought the iTrip transmitter, and then I picked up this dandy little gadget since I was using my mini so much more and kept forgetting to plug it in at night. I like that the wire disconnects from the power unit to hook up to the USB port on my computer to update my mini. It is sooooooooo easy to use and helps since I travel a lot for hockey. Definitely a bargain at twice the price.

I've had this product for about a month now and have had no noise or interference with my iPod mini. It charges while it plays, and I have had it plugged in w/o the car running (no longer than 1hr), and the car battery didn't die. I use it with the Griffin iTrip with great results. I used it on an 8hr drive from IL to MI and was very pleased. I will be making the same trip home and back to school again soon and suggest this product to anyone who makes road trips.
