Universal Adjustable Windshield Mount for Nokia Lumia 820 Windows Phone 8 Smartphone + SumacLife TM

Universal Adjustable Windshield Mount for Nokia Lumia 820 Windows Phone 8 Smartphone + SumacLife TM Wisdom Courage WristbandI received the holder a few days ago, installed it in the car, but have yet to test it under daily use.

Overall, construction quality seems more than reasonable better than I'd expected, given the low price, and as good as items selling for over twice its price.

The gripping arms can be set to a wide range of widths, which allows the holder to accommodate a wide variety of phones. With my phone (Nokia Lumia), the grip is firm to the extent that I believe it won't drop under any reasonable road condition.

The support arm has 3 adjustable joints which makes it easy to get the phone into a convenient position in a wide range of situations. As far as I can tell, the locking mechanism in the joints is sufficiently firm to keep the set orientation from changing even under rough road conditions.

I'm refraining from a 5-star rating as I've just received it and don't know how durable it is, or how well the vacuum/suction grip holds on longer trips, with the phone in it.

So far, I'm happy with this purchase and would recommend it. I'll edit this review in case that changes after I've used it for a while.

I ordered this product on a Wednesday, it showed up on the next Wednesday and was in it's original packaging and even placed in a plastic baggie for extra protection?... I don't know. Now, to find a video on how to program it to my system.... I would recommend this company and product to anyone looking for an extra remote to their Python 991 or 951 system.

Last year I got my wife a vehicle alarm mostly for the remote start and had it professionally installed. Naturally, I got stuck with the extra remote (short range, 1 way). The tabs holding the battery cover broke off just from normal wear and duct tape would not hold it secure, so I went for the upgrade for a replacement. It is so nice to have the range and feedback so you know if the doors are locked and the engine is running.

Bought the alarm/remote about a year ago, had a few glitches but nothing major. My installer took care of all the programming ie.window and motion sensor along with a backup battery. Tha remote has worked perfectly. I recently bought a spare just in case I lost or damaged my original one. Can't go wrong for the money.

Husky Liners 99753 WeatherBeater Tan Front and 2nd Seat Floor Liner

Husky Liners 99753 WeatherBeater Tan Front and 2nd Seat Floor LinerThe color was just a little off of what the picture shows it is tan not gold color as shown . Really liked the floor mats fit perfect in the car no trouble to install much better buy than getting mats off the rack at a auto store.

These mats were designed for my car thus fit perfect. Quality is excellent. The only draw back is the mats don't match my tan interior. I had two options for colors, one being tan and the other black. Black shows every speck of dirt, so tan was my only choice. I wish the tan was a closer match to the cars interior, but I'm still glad I didn't purchase black. I'll learn to live with these.

Schumacher SC-1200A SpeedCharge 12/8/2 Amp Charger/Maintainer/Starter/Tester

Schumacher SC-1200A SpeedCharge 12/8/2 Amp Charger/Maintainer/Starter/TesterForgetting to remove the negative connector before storing my vehicle for the winter; the internal sytems and alarm drained the battery, and of course it was sulfated. This unit worked like a charm. The battery was down to 8 volts/15%. The SC-1200a properly began to charge, then desulfate, and slowly was able to get the battery back to 98% before I removed it to start the car. This took approximately 17 hours (700 CCA Battery), which isn't bad for a dead/sulfated battery using a charger costing less than $50. The plus is you can use it to maintain your battery on a vehicle you do not drive much. Keeping your battery charged above 98% can greatly extend the life. How long it will the charger last running 24/7? ...I do not know yet. I have only had it maintaining the battery for 3 weeks, but still no problems. It does have a cooling fan which probably should be cleaned/vacuumed occaisionally; and I've never felt the unit being hot to touch. Not sure what problem the first reveiwer had, or if the unit he had was defective or dropped before he purchased it. For a $50 charger which maintains and also desulfates a battery, you cannot beat it.

Stay far, far, far, away from this charger. I walked away from tested, good, low charge battery being charged on the 8amp setting connected to a 750CCA regular car battery and when I came back a couple hours later it was boiling and still trying to charge! I checked the charge voltage and it was at 16 volts (measured with a Fluke meter)! Bad, very bad, charger and not automatic or smart at all.

Buy Schumacher SC-1200A SpeedCharge 12/8/2 Amp Charger/Maintainer/Starter/Tester Now

I was hoping to find the Schumacher model 7000A 2/20 Amp charger to review, but this 1200A is just a variation on the same thing. Looks identical too. After reading bad reviews of Schumacher and Vector it's clear these companies can't do anything right. Seems any product that has a microprocessor is programmed by the incompetent. Let me tell you about Schumacher speed chargers.

They won't charge batteries that don't already have a significant charge. If your battery drops below 10 to 11 volts, forget it. You'd have to have a manual battery charger as backup for when this won't charge, which eliminates the need for this thing in the first place. The explanation from the company is that the charger has to feed off the voltage in the battery, blah, blah. The purpose of a battery charger is to charge batteries, period. Then I was lied to by the tech and told if I hold down a certain combination of buttons when plugging the unit in, it would go into manual 2A mode (where the processor doesn't decide it won't charge your battery), but I sat there on the phone with him doing just as he said, and turns out no such feature exists. The manual doesn't mention anything like that either.

The charger is totally unpredictable. It almost always goes into desulfate mode. It has never completed a charge after coming out of desulfate mode, but ends in an error. Needs to be unplugged and plugged back in to start charging again to "completion". However completion doesn't seem to get the battery to 100% power, more like 80%, if that. Sometimes it won't charge at 20A and drops down to 2A. Don't know why. And according to the manual, desulfate mode can take up to 10 hours. So much for speed charge. Need to get into your car and go somewhere? Well you may need to wait until the next day.

It has a retain mode where the charger can sit there and monitor your battery and charge when needed. Figured I'd just leave the thing on my car almost permanently. But those who programmed the thing don't understand setting upper and lower thresholds. What it should do is charge up to the upper threshold, then when the battery drops below the lower, it charges to the upper again. I therefore expected it to turn on once a day or whatever. Instead it's turning on and off every several seconds, with the fan and relay clicking on and off. That's a good way to ware out the unit in no time.

It has a 70A engine start feature just incase you don't have enough juice to quite start your car, but if the battery is low enough where the charger won't charge it, the engine start feature won't work either.

My last car battery was probably only 1.5 years old before it wouldn't even take a charge. I'm beginning to suspect the damn charger might be responsible. When going into desulfate mode for instance, I see the voltage climb up to well over 16 volts. I don't know if that's good for the battery.

The simple act of charging a battery can be turned into a stressful nightmare with this crappy charger. Stay far away from Schumacher. It's clear they can't build a realiable charger, nor does it appear they've actually tried out their own products before dumping them onto the public.

This is not what Amazon is thinks it is. They have confused the SC-12000A Schumacher Speedcharge Battery Charger, Model# SC-12000A

which is no longer available and substantially a more powerful unit.

This listing (this one above, SC-1200A) has the correct picture and model number, but the descriptive text in the title and details touts the specs of the the 12000, not the 1200.

I sent it back today once I saw that it was the less powerful charger. I missed the Gold Box this week because I saw this unit and thought it was the better unit. I went out today and bought locally as I can't wait for an alternate item to ship.

One of the earlier reviews (4-12-2007) alludes to this issue but it appears this was not Amazon's mistake. A model number with a single zero difference enables confusion all the way around.

This thing is NOISY. I got it to charge and maintain a battery for a back-up sump pump, was going to have it in the equipment room in the basement, so didn't think noise would be an issue for me (saw other reviewers mention it). Even so, it's too loud. There's loud humming noise from the fans which are always on, and when charging a high-pitch tone joins the mix. It also draws 10 watts at idle when not even charging. Totally not suitable for this purpose.

Otherwise it seemed to charged my 75 AH maintenance-free sealed deep cycle battery no problem, and went into battery maintain mode as expected.

Update: purchased Schumacher SEM-1562A 1.5 Amp Speed Charge Maintainer and much happier now. This unit doesn't have a fan and consumes only 2 watts while maintaining, and no transformer noises. Maybe I was just trying to use wrong product for my purpose. But I did want to have the ability to charge the battery faster than over several days...

Tape to PC Super USB Cassette-to-MP3 Converter Capture Audio Music Player with Headphones

Tape to PC Super USB Cassette-to-MP3 Converter Capture Audio Music Player with Headphones
  • Rediscover your old cassette tapes on the go
  • Convert your old mix tapes and cassette to MP3 to Playback on iPod/MP3 plater or burn to CD
  • Portable design fits in virtually any bag and enables you to play and transfer anywhere.
  • Plug and Play USB device, no drivers reuired
  • Audio output enables you to listen on your stereo, Headphones, or other speaker system

After the warranty expired, the drive motor quit, but honestly for the price point paid that's not much of a loss. The Audacity software (and the LAME.dll to allow exporting MP3's to your iTunes library) that is included fabulous. The fact that it is also open-source freeware is an added bonus the version shipped is outdated, but can easily be updated after your initial install and your preferences set will be remembered if you choose to update Audacity. It was a bit of a surprise that the cassette player has an auto-reverse mode.

When your converter eventually quits on you (or even if it still works for that matter), you can easily capture your cassette library using any stereo cassette deck, an RCA to 3.5mm Y-cable hooked up to the line-in input on your PC and you're golden.

I was worried about some of the reviews I read but had no trouble with this item. It does exactly what I bought it for. Load up the included software, place your old cassette in the unit and press play. Hit the record button on the on-screen menu to record your tracks. From there you can very easily save them as an mp3 file to your hard drive. I'm very pleased with this item and you can't beat the price.

When I got this device I figured it would be one of those flawless plug&play devices that you simply hook up and have fun with. Nope. It takes all sorts of manipulation to get it to work. First the software and driver disk they sent was old. So I had to update the software, which changed the whole instruction booklet, etc. Second when I needed help, no one was available. So I had to figure it all out myself. So now, you plug the thing in. Start the software, configure the device, try to record something, the software then fails (every time) until you boot it up again (just the software, not the whole computer...thankfully), the you have to unplug it and plug it back in, put in cassette, press play, then hit record on the software. If it shows the graphic sound lines, you are recording! Yea! That all works fine. Then you first SAVE the recording project, then EXPORT the recording to MP3. Then start the entire process over again with another tape. Exasperating. And if the recording device is too close to the computer a constant clicking noise is also heard...and recorded, by the device. There's literally no way to pause it and start again. (Almost none of the pause, replay, and other function buttons on the software screen actually work. Seriously, I suggest getting a little more expensive and updated device.

Want Tape to PC Super USB Cassette-to-MP3 Converter Capture Audio Music Player with Headphones Discount?

ill edit this later if it conks out after a week like the other reviewer said but on day 1 this is working ok after some tweaks

youll need to download newer audacity software from sourcefourge:

audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows

and then plug in the USB that connects to the cassette player, this will effectively install the driver you need

youll want to go into audacity Edit, Preferences, and change the input to whatever says USB. i believe its USB PnP or something like that, also change the input channels to Stereo

then hit play on the cassette player, and record on audacity, and it should record

Very good value for the money. When I finished, the CD was better quality than the tape I started with.

Samsung ECS-K1F8BEGSTA Verizon Galaxy Nexus Car Mount Kit - Retail Packaging - Black

Samsung ECS-K1F8BEGSTA Verizon Galaxy Nexus Car Mount Kit - Retail Packaging - BlackThis is the US model (ECS-K1F8BEGSTA) and does not have 3 pins, nor does it have connectors on the base so you can leave your dock plugged into the audio and power ports.

Do not buy this model unless it's updated in place with the correct version. (Search Amazon for a similar model, ECS-K1F2BEGSTD, which is advertised as for the Nexus S, and has similar complaints but those seem to have been resolved. I'm not sure if ECS-K1F2BEGSTD works for Galaxy Nexus but if so, that would be the one to buy.)

Just search for "ECS-K1F8BEGSTA" online and you'll see many people complaining about it. http://forums.androidcentral.com/verizon-galaxy-nexus-accessories/140970-vzws-car-dock-has-no-3-pin-connection-4.html

It is NOT a real navigation mode car dock -in other words, there are not three metal pins on the inside of the plastic holder, which would initiate "car mode" -so this will not work as described. It does NOT put your Galaxy Nexus into navigation / car mode upon plugging it in.

What's worse, the connectors for audio and power have to be plugged directly in to the phone and CANNOT be left plugged into the base of the dock, which thereby makes it NOT A DOCK, either. (A "dock" is something you plug your device into without having to plug in the cables and connectors as well. This is a holder, not a dock.)

I got this dock from Verizon when I bought my Galaxy Nexus on release day. What a piece of garbage. Does not have the 3 pin connector. Tell me, why would I buy this overpriced hunk of junk when I could get a generic mount for a lower price that actually leaves space for you to plug into it?

Avoid at all costs.

Buy Samsung ECS-K1F8BEGSTA Verizon Galaxy Nexus Car Mount Kit - Retail Packaging - Black Now

This mount does not have the 3 pins to make it a true car dock. It will not charge your phone, or will it do audio passthrough like the GSM version does!@!!!

Read Best Reviews of Samsung ECS-K1F8BEGSTA Verizon Galaxy Nexus Car Mount Kit - Retail Packaging - Black Here

I came from the Droid X and an easy dock to use and had power in the dock. This dock is hard to use, I have to force the phone in and even harder to remove from the dock, sometimes dropping the phone in the car. Then the external power cable has to be connected to the phone in the dock. The Galaxy Nexus has three pins to charge the phone but this dock does not have this capability, the European version does. I have the VW Jetta that has a long reach to the windshield, so it is a long reach to work with the phone. It also is not very adjustable to angle the phone to remove light glare on the phone screen. Overall this is a cumbersome, hard to use dock with out power. I mount it to a bean bag I have for the Garmin.

Want Samsung ECS-K1F8BEGSTA Verizon Galaxy Nexus Car Mount Kit - Retail Packaging - Black Discount?

This is the worst design for a car mount that I could possibly ever imagine. It is semi-hard rubber product, and it is EXTREMELY difficult to get the phone in and out of it -it puts a Death Grip on the phone, 360 degrees around all edges. Is that REALLY NECESSARY?!?!?! REALLY!?!?!?! My Nexus is not a hardened criminal convict that will do anything to escape the clutches of a car mount! It's just a phone! I shouldn't need both hands and a whole squad of Chuck Norrises to extract my phone from its car mount!

Also, rather than just have cut-outs for the volume and power buttons, they made a rubber "skin" to cover the buttons. It works OK but WHY!?!?!?! Also, the cut-outs for the micro-usb power and 3.5mm jacks are WAY TOO SMALL and do not allow most cables to be used. The power adapter that comes with it has a tiny little narrow plug, so that's OK, but TOUGH LUCK if you want to use any other normal micro-usb charger.

Samsung, you should be ashamed of yourself. This thing is a piece of garbage.

After major surgery with a Dremel tool to extract 80% of the unnecessary death-grip edging, I finally have a butchered product that I only need one hand to insert or extract my phone. Hooray indeed.

Anybody have any recommendations for a decent mount for a Verizon Galaxy Nexus?

FM Transmitter for Sony Walkman Includes Car Power Cable for Transmitter

FM Transmitter for Sony Walkman Includes Car Power Cable for Transmitter
  • Full Stereo High Clarity sound Radio Play
  • Compatible with Sony Walkman and all othe portable players
  • Power light and frequency LED indicator
  • Operating range: 10-30 feet
  • Powered with 2 AAA batteries or with DC cable ( Cable Included)

I have had this item for 2 years, and i have driven in a car from Colorado to Florida with it. Rarely having to change the station. From Mississippi to florida i did not have to change the tuner ONE single time.

The sound is good, you turn the sound on the device to about half way and adjust your car volume. It has been used with an OLD MP3 player, IPOD nano, and a Sony Walkman.

I really like this thing and i am considering purchasing another one for myself since this one belongs to my daughter and came in a bundle package!

NO its not the best, but i have learned in my life that more money for a product does not always guarantee a BETTER product. Just means you paid more for the same thing.

It works for me, depending on what you want from you item, it would most likely work for you.

This device is very inexpensive and it works. There are some aspects of "cheap" to keep in mind. There is no on/off switch. Only way to turn it off is to remove the batteries or unplug it. If you don't, it runs down the batteries overnite. It does function correctly as a transmitter. Sometimes there are drop outs but that isn't often. K6000 Vehicle DVR Car Recorder DVR Road Dash Video Camera Recorder Traffic Dashboard with 2.7 Inch

K6000 Vehicle DVR Car Recorder DVR Road Dash Video Camera Recorder Traffic Dashboard with 2.7 Inch LPS Screen Full HD 1080P Night Vision 140 Degree A+ Wide Angle
  • High-definition, high -definition video
  • HOLD function
  • Supports high capacity TF card
  • Motion Detection
  • support auto ignition boot, turn off shutdown

[Edit: Warning. Other uses report getting either a perfect unit or a scratched, used one. First, verify there isn't a thin protective plastic that can be removed! Second, you might need to roll the dice and do an Amazon exchange if you get a bad one. IMO it's worth it for the low price. If you get a bad unit, make sure to post a negative review for the seller as well.]

Pros:

Very low price.

Has just the right set of features. Auto-power starts it recording, does automatic file rotation, visible timestamp, etc.

Reliably records without driver needing to worry about it. (Using it for a week now.)

Power cord is thin and long enough to make installation easy. The cord is 150 inches long. Thin is also important so it slides under car's interior trim. I installed without needing to remove any trim.

Fits *securely* behind mirror on my Mini Cooper using included suction cup. Driving a Mini in SF can be very jarring because of the roads and firm mini suspension; however, it hasn't fallen off.

"Low profile" device. Meaning it doesn't attract attention so your car gets broken into.

Customization is fairly easy and manual is close enough to native English to figure out. (First test is setting the day/time.)

Decent field-of-view without too much fisheye. See my posted video stills.

Can easily swap out microsd card without removing unit.

Timer to turn off LED screen so video doesn't show while driving.

No GPS nonsense. Why is this a feature? GPS isn't reliable without antenna AND consume more power.

Supports large, 32gb MicroSD card.

Cons:

Power plug is very large. This is the biggest issue for me. (See product photos)

It is NOT a night cam! You can see things in the car's headlights, but that's about it.

Product Improvement: I'd like it better if it was a standard USB plug and included a low profile cigarette lighter adaptor!

Slight buzz (bizt-bitz-bitz) in audio (as it writes to internal memory?) Not huge deal, might be related to MicroSD Card speed or the long power cable.

It has bright-white LED lighting option and I have no idea why. Seems useless. Just increases cost of unit.

It needs a plastic polarizing filter on the front of lens that can be rotated to remove window glare.

Power plug only fits into cigarette lighter.

Recommendations:

Buy a fast 32gb micro usb drive with this unit. Files are 1.25GB per 10min of HD footage. I purchased this one and it works:

SanDisk Ultra 32 GB microSDHC Class 10

User should increase clip size in settings so it saves 14 minutes at a time.

Firstly; this is not an HD dashcam! It's native resolution is 640x480, and it's interpolated (up-scaled) to HD.

Which means, if you look at the resulting video in a 640x480 frame, it looks great! If you look at it in full-screen (1080p), it looks quite poor.

If you want a good, basic dashcam to record everyday driving, this is it. But if you want something that can read license plates and produce true HD, then the DOD LS400 at about $150 is what you want.

I got this because there seems to be NO app for Android (even the one I paid for) that can give me good video, cycle over on top of the files and basically work right.

So I bought this, and it does seem to be good. Now it does not have GPS (which is good because it can stay on and not consume a lot of power when I have left it plugged in and parked and left my truck).

It does save in either 1 min, 2 min or 3 min or continuous video. They are all .AVI, so I have a mac and just select them all and open with VLC, which will keep playing them in the order of the file name. It does seem good.

There is only like .25 of a second when it goes to the next file name.

This is a lot for the little bit of money. Now don't EVER thing that a dash cam, with "infrared" LED lights could EVER show the outside in a good picture. It is impossible. You would need to have the IR LED's outside and way more than 2 or 4 or even 10 of them. Inside they would reflect of the windshield anyway.

This is a good deal for the money. Now at night, it will do so-so, not nearly as much resolution and very limited to what's in front of your vehicle by the head lights (say 20-30 feet), but on lighted streets the picture is ok. NOT crystal clear, as I could not make out my face when I got out of my truck and left it recording and it was night time. Think VGA 1M pixel resolution.

Daytime, as you can see, was ok. It is just as a 3rd party witness if anything (accident) was to happen.

This is a standard Chinese made dash cam. My first impressions when taking it out of the box was how light it was but I was expecting this considering the price. It works as expected, daytime quality is fine and so far after using it for about a month it still works.

A couple of cons however,

1) the battery out of the box I charged it until the little red charging indicator turned off indicating a full charge. I unplug it from the USB charge plug and turn on the camera. The little battery icon shows full charge at 3 bars. After 30 seconds, it suddenly goes to 1 bar and 30 seconds after that to 0 bars. Shortly afterwards, "Low battery" flashes across the screen and thats it. I got about 2 minutes of runtime off of the battery. Its probably faulty, but since this will be in my car plugged in all the time, its not a dealbreaker for me.

2) construction this thing feels cheap, but i'm able to forgive it if it does what its supposed to do. However after about 2 weeks of usage, the black front panel comes off. Turns out that the panel is glued on to the body of the camera and possibly it being warm in the car loosened the glue. My car is garaged and not left to bake in the sun so to me this is slightly unacceptable. However, the camera still works, for now.

Overall, for what I paid and compared to the nicer cameras out there, it's ok. No way am I expecting it to last for the lifetime of the car but If this thing gives me a year or two of service then I'll be satisfied. In this case you get what you pay for.

I'm not happy with this purchase, a first bad charger USB header communicates, the second does not work night mode. I don't know maybe I had gotten defective recorder or could all of this quality. I havent been able to send the product back.
