it's just amazing, I have it for few months now, well it made a huge difference. I installed it with a very old batter at least a year and a half old, weak too... no problems with starting the car or draining or anything else... best news is I just can't believe that no more diming lights even when the car is not moving, also I have so many electronics and lights in my car, it's just a miracle. I always had problems with enough power until I got this Kinetik, I really love it, that's why I am writing a good review, I just hope its price won't go up because of good reviews...in case I wanted to get another one in the future, not only the diming lights, also when I raise the bass very loud at one point around 28-30 the amplifier will start skipping like it can't breath and there isn't enough oxygen, well that was before, now I put the sound on 35 the maxium for 20 minutes with not even one skip, only the speakers will start crying. this is probably the best thing I spend my money on in electronics...

I was having trouble getting a residential refrigerator working in my RV. Although my inverter was more than large enough (2000/4000 watt rating) and the connection between it and the batteries also adequate (1/0 cable), the inrush current (when the compressor first kicks in) was simply too high for standard lead-acid deep cycle batteries, they can't supply the needed 100 or so amps quickly enough to keep the inverter from cutting off with an undervoltage (even though the same batteries *could* supply 100+ amps sustained load if it was reached slowly).

AGM batteries are much better at supplying burst current like this, and with this battery I was able to get the refrigerator working on the first try.

Cons:

(1)Warranty service is not free, in fact, it is quite expensive. I think most of Genius Charger owners are not very happy about it when warranty service is needed. Hopefully, repair rate is very low.

(2)The price tag of G1100 is almost $45, a bit overpriced, but good battery maintenance and extended battery life compensate the cost.

I got my G1100 for less than a week. I got trouble when I used it to charge my battery the first time, all LEDs illuminated and were blinking once the AC power was plugged into an electrical outlet. Obviously, it was an error warning. I checked all connections and found nothing wrong. I suspected my G1100 is a bad charger. I looked into Troubleshooting in User Guide before calling NOCO Genius for help. Troubleshooting indicates that my 2 year old battery is in very bad condition as a result of sulfation or damage. COSTCO gave me a free replacement because my old battery is still within 3 years warranty. G1100 saved me $75. I installed the new battery, then charged it again. All 5 charging steps went through as smooth as expected and successfully. It took about 5 hours to complete a full charge (from 25% to 100% full charge). I will update my review when needed. So far, everything is going well with my G1100 charger.

I store my car 6 months out of the year all I can say this is a great product, easy to use and works.

This seems to be a very good charger. I am using this on my ford escape, mostly.

I drive the car to work about 2miles to work one way each day.

On this car, and the last car I had, the battery always runs down during the week, due to the lack of run time on the alternator to battery charge time for my short trips.

Since using this charger, (i connect the charger on fri when I get home from work and leave all weekend, because I don't drive it on the weekend), I have a strong start when I do use the car and start it up on Mon going back to work.

Woke up to find this alarm had completely drained my battery. Apparently this alarm goes off at the slightest vibration & keeps going until it's sucks the life out of the car's battery. Pretty useless item anyways, not even loud enough to hear when indoors, so what's the point?! Thanks for the additional headache & time waste of having to call for a jump start.

This is a great economical car alarm! Its very easy to hookup and simple to use. Comes with 14 button remote. I read another reviewer state it had killed their battery and gave false alarms so I assume they did not know that there are sensitivity settings easy selectable through the remote. When it rains really hard for example that may be enough to set it off so I go to the next sensitivity and I don't hear a peep. Whats nice about this alarm is that it senses via vibration and or electrical changes. One possible flaw however is that these signals are picked up better closer to the front and front sides of the vehicle than the rear since the unit is mounted under the hood and being that the unit is self contained. The alarm cycles so it goes off after about 10 minutes so it would have to be continuously triggered to kill a car battery. The loudness is reasonable. The transmitter has four buttons. One for set, deactivate, sensitivity and honestly I forget the other but think its to program or reprogram. The remote range is also reasonable. All in all as I said I'm very happy with this unit. Now if they can come up with a 2 wire alarm that flashes lights and unlocks or locks doors at a reasonable price then I'm on board!

1)alarm is not very loud (so forget about using it as a panic device), 2)often did not pick up signal from transmitter (had to be close to vehicle) so forget using it to locate your car, and 3)design seems dangerous leads get clamped to car battery but there is nothing keeping the clamps from coming off, causing a short, or worse a fire yikes!

I've had two of these and they work VERY GOOD for the price. I had one on a van. You have to READ the setup and set the sensitivity to motion. YES it is configurable. Pretty good for a cheap alarm to protect your Ferrari? I have one now I am setting up on an electric (2 wheel) scooter. I have to mount a small 12v battery to power it because the scooter is 48v.

This arrived with dead batteries but that's not the reason for the two stars. This product is an engineering enigma. You've got this beautifully machined aluminum battery comparment/handle with no-slip grip. Water proof switch, o-ringed cap, heavy duty coated flex neck and an LED light built into the end. Wonderful. Then you get the business end and ...wait a minute......where's the magnet? Oh...it's stuck to the side of the flex neck. Hmm... so, you pull it off and stick it in the end of the tool where it belongs, and as soon as you pick up an object the magnet falls out again. Nice. The head is brass so it's not going to stick to that, no glue, absolutely nothing to keep the magent on the tool. I hate sending things back, so just to make the thing work, I took the end off, used a vise grip to make the magnet slot out of round and provide an interference fit, beat the magnet in with a mallet, now it's working fine. What were they thinking? It's like they ran out of money when it came time to engineer the most important part of the product.

I just recieved this to day,first off the cheep batteries that came with it exploided inside it and I had to clean it with electric motor cleaner (no problem)the light is not as bright as I expected(but gets the job done)and the magnet strength is average (again acceptable)do not expect to recieve a top quality product here although the handle is rather nice.

I should have foreseen the problem when I opened the package.

The lamp flickered, it looked like a poor contact so I checked to see if the caps (battery end-cap and the light end cap) were secure. The battey cap was okay, but the light end cap was loose. I snugged it up a bit (less than a quarter turn) and the lamp no longer flickered. Solved that easily?

Not really, because when I tried to use the light while working on some equipment (the reason I bought it), the lamp flickered again. I checked the lamp-end cap, and it was still loose! Upon closer examination, I could see that the threads were defective; the female cap and the male body could not be secured; a little pull and the cap simply came off in my hand. Then I could see that the wiring (from the battery compartment to the lamp) was badly twisted and frayed, obvious that the flickering was caused by a short or break in the wiring.

It appears that someone, likely on the assembly line, tried to secure the lamp-end cap to the body, it just kept turning and twisted the wiring to the point that it frayed and shorted; of course they solved their problem by shipping the thing to the customer.

It now "swims with the fishes", this is junk, beware.

This is a VERY NICE remote start unit.

I installed it myself in about 2 and a half hours. (I did my homework first, knew where and what color wires I needed to locate) The only problems I had were that my body doesn't flex like it used to. :(

I've had other remote start systems throughout the years, but this one had the smallest "brain" of them all. It actually fit BEHIND the gauge cluster.

If you have any idea how tight Japanese cars are made these days, you'll know they don't waste any space. I was impressed at the tiny size.

All of the functions (I was interested in) work perfectly and I am very, very happy with this purchase.

And to make it all an even better deal...... A really nice metal remote! YEA BABY!

The only disappointment to me was the units' "tachless mode" would not work on a (my) warm engine. Being as the unit senses the alternators' output to determine if the engine is running or not, and we all know that a car that has been driven for a while (warm engine) will have a battery that is near fully charged. So, the unit thinks the engine is NOT running being the battery needs little, if any of a charge. (Ask me how long it took me to realize this, as the unit worked fine at first, then would start and soon turn off with a fully warm engine) So, big deal, I had to attach 1 more wire,(Tachometer wire) right at the back of the gauge cluster, easy!

It has many, many options, timers, modes that will satisfy just about everyone out there.

Installation instructions were straightforward.

Wiring diagrams were VERY easy to understand.

Operating instructions were clear.

Programming the many options were clear, but trying to remember them all without printed directions is useless to my tired, old brain.

Just about everyday I use the:

Remote Start

Remote Lock/Unlock

Idle Down Mode (Gives me 10 Minutes to run into a store while engine continues to run)

Timed Shutdown (Turbo Timer) (Engine runs 1 minute after I remove the key. I have a turbo Subaru)

That's all I need in a remote start, and this unit does it all.

I don't need a 2-way system that talks back to me I'll leave that to you younger folks. Enjoy your conversations!

After the warranty expired, the drive motor quit, but honestly for the price point paid that's not much of a loss. The Audacity software (and the LAME.dll to allow exporting MP3's to your iTunes library) that is included fabulous. When I got this device I figured it would be one of those flawless plug&play devices that you simply hook up and have fun with. Nope. It takes all sorts of manipulation to get it to work. First the software and driver disk they sent was old. So I had to update the software, which changed the whole instruction booklet, etc. Second when I needed help, no one was available. So I had to figure it all out myself. So now, you plug the thing in. Start the software, configure the device, try to record something, the software then fails (every time) until you boot it up again (just the software, not the whole computer...thankfully), the you have to unplug it and plug it back in, put in cassette, press play, then hit record on the software. If it shows the graphic sound lines, you are recording! Yea! That all works fine. Then you first SAVE the recording project, then EXPORT the recording to MP3. Then start the entire process over again with another tape. Exasperating. And if the recording device is too close to the computer a constant clicking noise is also heard...and recorded, by the device. There's literally no way to pause it and start again. (Almost none of the pause, replay, and other function buttons on the software screen actually work. Seriously, I suggest getting a little more expensive and updated device.

youll need to download newer audacity software from sourcefourge:

and then plug in the USB that connects to the cassette player, this will effectively install the driver you need

youll want to go into audacity Edit, Preferences, and change the input to whatever says USB. i believe its USB PnP or something like that, also change the input channels to Stereo

then hit play on the cassette player, and record on audacity, and it should record

Very good value for the money. When I finished, the CD was better quality than the tape I started with.

This unit is great for the price. It's a bit flimsy, i.e. the battery cover lip broke right off. The lasers don't pivot wide enough to make it work as it does in the picture. I had to mount it sideways which reduced the motion sensing and stretched the laser spots into ellipses, thus making them less bright. Not a big deal, does the job.

After reading the many reviews on this product, and similar products, I decided on this one, by Maxsa, since reviewers seemed to be more pleased with its quality and functionality. Especially the described "longer duration" that the lasers remained on after being triggered. Well, the reviews are false, or my unit is defective, since the lasers on my unit REMAIN ON FOR ONLY 10 SECONDS. Hardly long enough to complete a parking operation since I back in to my garage. I am now attempting to contact the manufacturer to see if this unit is defective, since it doesn't mention the "on time" in the instruction manual. I will update this review at a later date, when I know more.

**UPDATE: I spoke with Maxsa, over the telephone, and they confirmed that the unit is desigend to have a laser-on time of only 10-15 seconds. They suggested that I relocate the unit to have a better "view" of the vehicles, which I did and now it is working better. However, in the process of re-alligning one of the laser heads, it popped-out of its "knuckle" mount and so I pushed it back in, kinda of a "cheesy" assembly I must say. But it is working OK now, so I upped-it a star. I will update this review again after it has been in service for a while.

This is a good product and I am happy with it. My only complaint is that the laser turns off too quickly. In other words, if you pull in to your garage and are not situated properly, requiring a little adjustment of your vehicle position, the laser will most likely time-out and turn off before you have parked your car properly. Then you're left a little in the dark, so-to-speak. Frustrating, but not too big of a deal. I would certainly recommend this project to others.

I have an AGM battery in my car and I wanted to make sure the charger I bought supports that type of battery. I`m really impressed with the Genius charger. The status lights let you know exactly what the charger is doing. I'd recommend the charger to anyone with AGM or Gel batteries (as well as traditional wet-cell batteries).

I needed a new charger after my old one stopped working. I looked around and saw this one. After reading the reviews i went ahead and ordered it. Right before i got my charger my weekend wheeler truck didn't want to start. I have a lot of bateries that need to be charged or topped off during the year. I purchased this product and have used it on ATV, lawn mover and travel trailer deep cycle battery. So far it has done a good job on topping off my batteries and reviving my neighbors lawn mower battery that was cutting out after 5 minutes until he used the charger.

Bought this to charge a motorcycle battery and keep it charged during the winter. Works great, easy to use, and it feels great to have a charger around that I can use for whatever I need.

Didn't use the reconditioning feature at all because, thankfully, I don't need it yet. will update review if that ever happens
