I bought this brand Clifford, which installed by professional. For first 3 months, all my electronic system went banana and of course it was out of order. I took back to the dealer. They re-installed and re-set everything. This time after only a month, all my light panel went banana again. All of them, system, SRS, signal, engine and oil warning lid up. I brought back to the deal, who was nice enough to rip off the whole thing and install a new one.

After 6 months, it happened again. I got sick of it. I deactivated system myself and promised never buy Clifford again. I advise you not too.

A painful experience: money and time and headache.

I purchased this speakerphone in 2009 & used it twice. The people I spoke to on the phone said it sounded like I was in a fish bowl. I chalked it up to the fact that I didn't spend $80.00 or so & it was just a cheap model. Buyer beware. That would have been my review in 2009. I stopped using the speakerphone until I now need it because the state laws changed. I was reading the reviews on many speakerphones because I wanted to get a good one without spending a lot of money. Who'd of thunk it! Some of the reviews talked about the same fishbowl sound & others said that it was because the volume was set too high. I pulled this unit out of my desk drawer & tried it again. It works great. I started with the lowest volume setting & a friend on the other line to test. I put the volume to the highest level just before the fishbowl sound began. I now have an inexpensive unit that really works. On a side note, I charged the unit once in 2009. I am now using it on a workday basis (I'm a contractor & am on the phone a lot during the day.) After one month, I am still on the same charge. The four stars is because the unit turns off when not in use (ultimately to save battery life). The unit is audible when it turns off so I just turn it back on, but there are times when this is a pain in the neck because I turn it back on frequently.

The good news is that the system is flexible. The bad news is that installation is not a simple task, and the system is not a complete panacea to all rear vision problems.

1. The mirror, with its built-in LCD, fits over the existing mirror, and seems to me to be likely to fit a wide variety of factory models. The problem is that it is a little darker than a standard mirror.

2. You can mount the camera wherever makes sense, rather than being locked into, say, the license plate rim. This is a huge benefit for a car like ours, a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, with its massive spare tire smack in the middle of the back end of the car. We ended up mounting it atop the center brake light. High up so it gets a good view, and it's not blocked by anything, including the Thule bike rack (T2 with extension, tray model).

3. You can choose to use the wireless transmitter and receiver, or the wire, to connect the camera to the screen. We chose wired because everyone we spoke with said that wireless was spotty, suffering interference. We didn't test that, so I am only reporting what we heard. But it's hard to argue with the idea that a hard-wired system will provide better performance than a wireless system. And although there is less effort required to configure it as wireless, that is only one of the many steps/connections in the overall process. So I am not sure how much time (or money) you save.

4. Installation was a bit daunting, and I am pretty handy. We ended up getting it installed professionally, about $200 or $300. Yeah, that adds to the cost! But they did a very nice job. If you think you'll do it yourself, just make sure you either have experience or have time to learn.

5. Performance is good, not perfect. The screen is relatively small. In daylight the view is pretty good, while at night it is poor. You can still see, given the light from the brake and reverse lights, but it's not exactly crystal clear. It would be nice to have infrared, or even white LED light, but you can see something. The grid lines are not to scale (possibly because of where we placed the camera?). But it's OK, a definite improvement over the terrible visibility rearward from the front seat of the Jeep.

The bottom line: OK system, flexible in many ways, big improvement if you have terrible visibility, not super-easy to install. I guess I'm glad I bought it and got it installed, but it was fairly expensive in the end. Hopefully it will help us not crunch into things...

I installed this Pyle wireless backup mirror system about 3 months ago and am very satisfied with its performance. I bought one of the like new returns when price was below half the new price. The return came without the original box, but included all the wiring and the instructions.

The main reason I selected this unit over the others brands and models was that the clip on screen is nearly the exact size of a standard rearview mirror. This was important as I park in a public transportation parking lot during the work day and did not want the unit easily visible for fear of theft. The parking lot is also the reason I needed the camera in the first place. The second reason was that this unit has a wireless and wired option which no other unit on Amazon seemed to have. I was surprised, but the wireless option worked fairly well for an F-150 (transmitter mounted in the bumper and the receiver in the kick panel). I do get some static on occasion, but this is usually cleared up by tapping the brake. My only other complaint is that the mirror is slightly darker than the original mirror and the screen has low brightness (probably for low power useage) so it can be hard to view in a bright setting (from other reviews this is a common issue with other models as well). The mild static and reduced visibility of the mirror is why I give it 4 stars. Overall I highly recommend this unit.

One note is the stock Amazon picture is wrong the 4.3" display is not in the middle, but is on the right side of the mirror which I like.

Some install notes for those interested:

First of all the directions that come with the unit are fairly short and generic so you need to do some research on your car's wiring. What is essential is determining the backup light wire color for your car. I have an F-150 and after 15 minutes of searching on the internet I found a forum that posted the correct color wire (for a 97-03 F-150 the backup light wire is black with pink stripe). For tools I would suggest wire (I used 22 gauge), wire strippers, needle nose pliers, wire taps red, wire nuts, wire loom, electrical tape, zip ties, and a volt meter. Also, for testing I used a 12V DC converter switch in the cigarette lighter to power the receiver and screen ($8 from radioshack). Overall I got everything hooked up and tested in less than an hour. Mounting the units and camera just the way I wanted took about 2 to 3 hours as I built a bracket to mount the camera within the bumper and wanted the wiring tied down neatly.

As for the other reviewers who complain that it is complicated I have to disagree. I may be an engineer, but it is not rocket science. There is a wireless transmitter, wireless receiver (both labeled), a camera, a wire for the screen connection, a yellow composite video wire for the wired install, and an alternative power wire for the camera (if you choose not to use the wired option). Transmitter and camera go to the rear of the car while the receiver and screen power wire go to the front.

In the rear of the truck I mounted the camera and transmitter n the bumper. The F-150 had a small hole near the license plate for a sensor that was perfect for the camera. The backup wire and ground wire were really easy to find as it goes to the trailer hitch. I used some wire taps, wire loom, electrical tape, and mounting putty to put everything in the bumper securely.

For the screen install the wire from the mirror was just long enough to run up around the top of the windshield and down to the driver side kick panel. Here I used the 12V cigarette lighter to power the unit. After about two months of use I decided to hook it up permanently. I found a permanent 12V source for the mirror (don't worry about battery drain as it is low power and powers off after a few minutes without video input). The same 12V backup light wire was also present in the kick panel. Here I hooked up the wireless receiver and the green wire from the screen to the 12V backup wire. The green wire from the screen tells the screen to power on and switch to camera input any time you put the car in reverse (or anytime there is a 12V on that wire). PLEASE NOTE: I highly recommended using a volt meter to test the wires to ensure that they is either constant 12V or 12V when the car is in reverse before connecting the electronics.

The video connection is pretty obvious AV2 is for the input from the camera receiver (or the provided composite video wire). This is what the screen automatically turns to if you hookup the green wire. There is a secondary video source that can be selected which can be used for another camera or alternative video source such as a ipod or dvd player connection. Hope this helps.

I bought this camera/mirror for my ranger because I needed to replace my factory mirror due to it being broken, and also because I have a camper shell on my truck and cant see very well behind me. It was super simple to set up and install. The instructions were a little lacking, so I decided to make this video to help others see how simple and easy it can be. I changed the way that it installed so that I could turn the camera on at any time and see what was going on behind me. The picture is incredibly clear and detailed. While I like the clarity of the camera and monitor, as well as the distance lines, this product only gets 3 stars from me for the following reasons:

As mentioned by others before, the instructions are very lacking in detail.

The Amazon website images, the original packaging and the images on the Pyle website are misleading in several ways.

1. The form factor of the actual mirror/monitor is different.

2. The monitor is not in the center of the mirror, it is towards the right side.

3. The "mirror" section of the unit isn't mirrored at all. It is simply glass on a black background. While Pyle may call this "anti-glare", it is actually anti-mirror. I have factory tinted windows on my Tundra and factory tinted back-glass on my truck cap and this lack of mirroring makes the mirror part useless except at night, and only then because other vehicles have their headlights on. Yet, the factory Toyota mirror can see through the tint just fine at all hours of the day or night.

I would more-correctly call this a factory-mirror-obscuring-video-monitor-mount.

Don't get me wrong, the camera and monitor work just fine, but I wonder if sacrificing the use of my rear-view mirror is worth it?

Compared to previous models, the installation is so much easier with fewer wires to run. The system worked the first time. I only had one hole to drill and the connections were made with wire nuts. I especially like the line scale in the display that estimates the distance to objects.

The reasons that I bought this charger is because it has a docking stations which can be used to charge and store the unit when not in use. After the charging is completed, the docking station will enter a "floating charge" mode to prevent overcharging. Some other charger need to be monitored carefully since overcharging can damage the battery. With this unit, I can just leave it and forget it... Also, this unit is small enough that my wife can use it to jumpstart her minivan. Some other multifunction charger are so heavy, you'd have to be a weightlifter to carry the thing.

** UPDATE ** I originally wrote the glowing review below. This was a great product, while it lasted. Unfortunately, about 1 week after the 1-year warranty period ran out, the unit stopped accepting a charge. That is, I could not charge it either using the cradle or directly from the wall adapter. I called Schumacher and they could not offer me any help. A shame, but I can no longer recommend this device and I will be looking for a replacement.

UPDATE: I paid $88 for this when I purchased it in February, 2008. I see the price has increased, so I just wanted to note this difference so you take my comment about 'heck of a deal for the price' and 'comparison shopping' in the appropriate context. I am still very pleased with the unit but wanted to make clear that I am no longer completely certain that it's the best deal on the market. I have not recently done any comparison shopping to figure out if other units prices have changed.

Original review: Let me begin by saying that this is a sturdy, well-built piece of machinery. It also clearly can get the job done, period. My V6 Toyota Land Cruiser had a _completely_ flat battery, with a totally crudded-over positive terminal. I hooked this puppy up, and my engine ROARED back to life within 10 seconds of the connection being made. I haven't ever heard my engine start like that before, even when jumped from other jumper packs. Now, to comment on some other aspects of this equipment: It comes with a charging cradle, but you don't need to use it, because the AC adapter that plugs in to the cradle can also be plugged directly in to the jumper pack itself. So you can just stash the AC adapter in the car with the jumper pack, for mobile use. Also, this _can_ be used to power small appliances, but you'll need a cigarette-lighter adapter, because this doesn't have a regular outlet, only a cigarette-lighter outlet. Anyway, this is a heck of a deal for the price. I did a lot of comparison shopping to get the best value, and I'm very, very pleased.

I purchased this unit based on all the positive reviews, but unfortunately, I cannot say the same. I guess I must have received a defective unit. The main battery would not charge through the dock and the LED's on the dock were not in synch, as it showed full charge whether the main unit was attached or not, even before charging. The battery charged fine on its own and I concluded that either the dock itself or the battery contacts must be faulty. I could have done without the dock, but the idea of unprotected contacts being bare makes no sense. What made me decide to return it however was the unpleasant experience with Schumacher. After 3 days of calling, each time I was given the run around and they had no records of my issue (Like I was calling for the first time). Finally they decided I had to ship the entire unit (at my cost) so they can "test it". So much for customer service and warranty on a brand new unit out of the box. I decided to return it to Amazon and they paid for the return shipping. The 3 stars is a balance of 1-2 stars for the product, 0star for Schumacher, and 5+ stars for Amazon.

LCD Remote Car Start (SPY-F10S)

LCD Remote Car StartReceived this remote starter F10s last week (under a week in shipment). Installed it today, fairly simple installation when i followed vehicle wiring diagram from bulldogsecurity's website.

Took me ~2 hours for full installation, fairly simple, engine started the first time, door lock didn't work, had to supply seperate power +&to door lock wire harness and then it worked (this wiring in the F10s installation diagram). Light flashing (headlight/parklight) didn't work, checked the installation diagram, i followed it properly, checked the headlight/parking light output with a multimeter, nothing, this part of the circuit is dead. Checked the jumper settting in the control unit (the jumper was in wrong place not in default place as the installation instruction says: this means this is a previous problem, probably a returned/ failed control unit). put the jumper in the right place, still this circuit is dead. Tomorrow i will be calling 'speed shop' and ask them if they can ship me a good control box (the black box).

my observation & experience:

-easy to install

-microwave sensor purchased separately from ebay $15 with shipping works soso

-distance not 5000 meter, tested it to be between 500-700 meter (5000 meter is pure lie)

-a lot of mistake in the installation and owners manual (cheap company)

-remotes built cheaply, $ shop quality

-remote color won't change from green even after following owners manual and trying more than 4 times

-no dome light supervision (car's inside light won't turn on whan unlock button pressed, no circuit for this)

-company's (manufacturer's) website doesn't exist

-2 remotes its a +

-for start sensing, had to connect my own wire extention and make a coil in the distributor/ingnition wire. it would be better if it had a high voltage ignition sense and could connect directly to ignition coil, this would be more stable to sense if the car really started and running or not and would stop over cranking

-overall for the price and functionality option (both remote starter and alarm), i am giving this product a 2* out of 5*

Milwaukee 0880-20 18 Volt Cordless Wet/Dry Vacuum,

This vacuum works great. I find that it works well even as the batteries are going down. It does eat batteries pretty quickly but I'm able to get everything done I need. I also vacuum more often now that I have it. One thing to keep in mind is that is does not come with batteries. It really only makes sense to buy it if you are already invested in Milwaukee tools.

This is a great portable vacuum. My problem is that it was described as having "a long continuous run time." That time is actually, according to both Milwaukee (personal communication) and personal experience, about 11 minutes on a fully charged 18V battery. That was less than I expected and will necessitate buying a second battery. This vacuum with two batteries at $51.18 each becomes a pretty expensive proposition. I can recommend this vacuum only if you are already invested in Milwaukee portable tools and 18-volt lithium ion batteries.

One saving grace is that if you don't anticipate using the vacuum very long at any given time, the batteries do have a short recharge time, so one battery might be sufficient.

This is definitely the Milwaukee Tool quality that I have come to respect. It has plenty of pick-up power and best of all it works with my 18V Compact Li-ion batteries that came with my drill (It also works on 18V Ni-Cad batteries as well). The battery bay has two different mounts that allow the use of either style Milwaukee 18V battery (however, only one battery can be used at any given time). It has a float inside the pick-up chamber that turns it off if too much water comes in. The hose and cabinet are made from heavy duty material making it great for rugged use. It comes with two small wands one of which is for cracks and crevices and the other for general pick up. These are kept nicely tucked away under the lid in their perspective storage areas. The only thing I wish they would have added is a small brush attachment but that is a minor thing. My wife has already snagged it to use on the carpeted steps because of how easy it is to use. Very pleased indeed!

Since I already own several Milwaukee 18V cordless tools and 2 batteries, this was a fantastic addition. For small jobs, this thing can't be beat. Lightweight, sturdy, extremely portable, great suction, good attachments. For jobs like vacuuming the car, picking up sawdust or drywall, and other small projects around the house, this is the first vacuum I go to. It's very well made, and I'm actually really impressed with the hose on it really high quality and it stretches to probably 5 feet or so, but re-coils nicely. Much better quality than any typical wet/dry vac hose. And since it's a standard 1 1/4 hose, you can add a variety of additional attachments. Plus, you can use it as a blower too.

I have no idea what the continuous run-time is, I haven't used it for more than about 5 minutes straight. But, on a single V18 battery, I can use it intermittently for several weeks (1-2 minutes at a time every 3rd or 4th day) before I need to recharge the battery. This vacuum is compatible with all 4 versions of Milwaukee 18V batteries (V18, M18, M18 compact, and NiCad).

3 limitations: 1.) It's cordless, so don't expect to run it for a half hour straight and vacuum your entire house. 2.) To make it so portable, the storage for the attachments is small. It will only hold the 2 attachments it comes with, so if you add anything else (like a brush tool), you'll need to store them separately. 3.) It's got a special lock-in hose, so you can't take any 1 1/4" shop-vac hose and plug that in.

For what it's worth, my wife rolled her eyes when she saw this show up (thought I was just buying another toy). But she had to admit that she loves this thing now too. Keeps it in the hall closet and it's the first thing she grabs to vacuum up the cat litter off the floor.

If you have the batteries already, it's a great addition. But if you're just looking for a portable vacuum, this is probably close to a $150 investment by the time you're done (just look at the "frequently bought together" section of this page).

At first I really liked this amp as the Highs/High Mids are wonderful. I had no problems until I recently had trouble with my Hifonics brutus hifi2500d. Since i had problems i removed my subs and amp until i can figure out what happened. This is where this amp comes into place. I messed with it a little to get more bass out of my 6.5 alpine type r (in doors) and alpine type s (in rear panels). I've tried everything to make sure i have the right airspace behind all speakers including pods and dynomating. The mids to low mids are very choppy and sound as if the speakers are distorting. It's very annoying. And to top it all off, i can only turn my volume up halfway on the amp and from my clarion eq without distortion and even then about 15 minutes listening time at those volumes will cause my amp to over heat and go into protection mode. I have it in a huge open space where it is extremely easy for air to get to the amp to cool it down. i've even tried keeping it turned off with the ac blasting until it gets pretty chilly in my car and it still over heats and turns off only giving me maybe 2 more minutes max. I like listening to rock music at a pretty decently high level of sound. but in order for me to have non stop music i have to have the volume only turned to 1/4 volume. Kinda stinks. For 150 bux you cant ask much from an amp but im pretty sure i should be getting better than that. I've also tried calling hifonics considering there are no dealers near me and left my phone number and all the detail i can in a message. After at least 5 calls and 3 messages i havent heard back from them. I think in the near future im going to save up and get an alpine pdx series. If you like your highs and high mids to go with your subs this is an alright choice. If you like quality, just look a little deeper into your choices as i did not and am not happy with my choice. Oh and i've had this amp for about 3 months now.

I am a long haul trucker and I have this installed in my Volvo tractor, I just purchased my second one as the first one needed to be replaced at 1yr, 10 months of heavy use. The fan did quit working , but after all the time I stated above. I use this inverter everyday, all day, as I do all my own cooking in the truck, including making my own coffee. I have a toaster oven in my truck and a hot plate and coffee maker, I have baked in the toaster oven for 2 hours with this inverter. This inverter has saved my alot of money because I do not eat in truckstops at all, I take all my own food with me and stock the refrigerator in the truck. For the price of this inverter and the length of time I got out of it I rated it 5 stars. I don't think you can go wrong with this product. One thing I would like to mention is when you install this inverter use a DC circuit breaker in place of the fuse, because you will trip it occasionally.

purchased this a year ago and it works great with light loads (lights small drills). Does not work well with inductive loads like a refrigerator. I purchased a PowerBright 2300W in place of this and the Powerbright works extremely well with the refrigerator. In fact I have 2 refrigerators hooked up to the Powerbright.

I bought mine 3 years ago at a truck stop. It was $80 then, and I figured it would get me across country back home and then I'd hock it and buy a good one. It has since been in 5 trucks and has ran a 700 watt microwave and a 900 watt electric skillet for 3 years now plus a TV and A little coffee pot. I learned to freakishly oversize the wires to these and almost any of them will work for a good while. I have double 2 Gauge (2 sets) feeding it. The leading cause of 90% of these failing is load wire size. When volts drop-Amps go up in any system. So if your wire is too small it will put incredible stresses on the electronics with raw amps. That is a sure fire way to kill one. I would almost Guarantee that others have ran it on those cheap 4 gauge cables you get at wally world. No dice, and it over thermals or screws up the circuitry and starts acting up. I destroyed my first one, a $400 samlex doing exactly that and It ended up with symptoms I see reviewers talk of on this one.

Only about a dozen companies even make inverters. 90% are all the same parts but different covers on them. You can get one from Harbor Freight, Kmart, walmart or Sears and be the same identical unit with different trim and one is all bragged up, the other one is cussed on! That goes for almost everything built nowadays. The cheaper the buyer is on these the sure bet is the cheaper the wire they will buy to feed it.

Rule of thumbNEVER buy a inverter that has a running watts the same size as your intended load. NONE can survive that level of use. Always buy one that is 1/3rd bigger or more than any load you plan to run. ExampleI have a 1500 with a 3000 watt surge, the surge is a bogus number so ignore it, I run a max of 1000 watts out of it at any one time. If you have a refrigerator that has a starting watts of 1450 than the inverter you need is a minimum of 2000 running watts (no matter what the SURGE claims are ignore them they are a lie). The surge don't EVER include the small feed wire people use. The wire the manufacturer recommends is generally only the size to cover the Running watts and 20%.

My roadpro 1500 will handle a surge of 2000 but unless I put 000 size wire on it it wont ever hit 3000 watts in a surge. Simple math folks 12.5 volts average, and Ohms law. 3000 divided by 12.5 = 240 amps. That's the limits of 00 wire in a DC system @ under 2 feet from the batteries.

I didn't buy this off Amazon, but locally since I needed a new inverter to replace my old Power-on-Board inverter.

This thing worked fine for about 2 weeks, then it started to fail. It will show random error messages and now says it is drawing 300w with just a laptop charger plugged in. It refuses to run my small 600w microwave (shutting down and gives a 'Overload' message) and the display says it's putting out 61.1 k/w.

For the high cost and low quality of this inverter you're better off spending your money on a quality inverter not made in China.

basically no one makes a car charger for the archos 504 or 604, unless you have the travel dvr adapter. this item is great, it fills the need for those of us using these archos players in the car for music, and is cheaper than the archos travel charger that you need the dvr adapter to use.

i'm giving it 4 stars, b/c it does what you expect it to, is well built, and has the ability for interchangable device tips. the only reason it didnt get 5 stars is b/c i think that is for things that go above and beyond your expectations.

I thought this thing would actually work, silly me. It is made for my player but the problem is that it makes the player overheat and therefore it kinda stops playing very soon after connecting it. The problem is that there are very few companies that actually make stuff for Archos gminis so there is really no alternative method to trying to find something in the same range as this product. I'm not very impressed with the Archos battery life and thus I tried to accomodate this by buying this travel charger to no avail. I don't use it really.

Also, I don't think I ever got the tip thing.

Equus 3320 Auto-Ranging Digital Multimeter

This is a good little meter.

Thumb uppers: Small overall size, large LCD display, auto-ranging, uses 2 AA batteries, uses standard sized banana plugs so is compatible with several 3rd party or customized probes/connectors.

Thumb downers: probe clips are such weak, soft rubber that they don't grip the probes securely. And it would be nice for a little more $$ to include a case. So instead buy a $3 camera case to solve both deficiencies. Too bad the over-sized instruction booklet isn't the same size as the meter so it can be stored in the same case.

This is a meter of above average quality for the price. A great meter to have for the do it your-selfer for around the house, car or boat. However, one function that is lacking is high range AC current (amps) the description says it measures AC current but doesn't say that the max AC amps it can test is 200mA or .2 amps, not really practical for ANY AC current measurments. You can measure the current of say a 20 watt AC light bulb with this meter. The PC you are using to read this draws about 3.5-4 AMPS or about 3500-4000 milli amps, this meter maxes out at 200 ma.

I bought it for AC amps but can't use it for that. I'll keep it as a back up meter but I have to buy a better meter for AC amps. I guess that's what I get for being a cheap skate... time to buy a Fluke!

I use expensive fluke DMMs all of the time at work and was going to buy one for home use when my Sears DMM (that was pretty much a piece of junk, couldn't auto range, and eventually wouldn't shutoff) started annoying me. So, I chose a $129 Fluke meter then happened upon this meter. I figured what the heck for $25 and decided to order it. If you need a home meter that AUTORANGES (this is a big deal) and works, you really can't go wrong with this product. The autoranging is great, VDC, VAC, & continuity have tested fine thus far and I think the leads are like any other DMM I have used. This is a killer deal for $25.00.

Leaving a normal DVM on will kill the costly 9V battery! Its own novel battery testing is fast and easy with LEDs. AC 200mA range used with a shunt(say 1 or 0.1 Ohm precision) can give you higher AC current range! No AC current at all on others. Even has a wriststrap on the back.
