- When the car starts, the mirror car camera will automatically start recording.
- This kind of rearview mirror recorder not only is a car video recorder, but also arearview. It's nice nice and stable quality.
- Accessory: main machine, AV cable, stand, car charger, USB charger, user's manual
2/25/13 Update: Screen update, bumped stars from 3 to 4.
Packaging:
Amazon shipped me an extremely beat up box. No stars removed for this since it is for the product but the corners were smashed in pretty hard.
The "retail" box it ships in is very nicely sleeved with all the random Engrish on the outside and a very sturdy, thick (albeit smashed) inner white box that folds out.
The unit was wrapped with some foam and a plastic sheet over the glass.
Protip: Don't remove that plastic sheet until after testing the unit, setting it up and hiding the cables or you'll be cleaning fingerprints everywhere.
Inside the box: the unit itself, a standard miniUSB to USB cable, miniUSB to car accessory power cable (roughly ~10ft long, I forgot to measure it), an AV "white and yellow" cable, and more Engrish papers.
Positive:
The unit is big. Probably around twice the size of my stock 2010 Toyota Corolla rear-view mirror. It was a shock but the way these are designed to clip onto an existing rear-view mirror means it has to be larger so the camera can see the road. I actually like the larger mirror much more after having it mounted but it does create a small blind spot to the front of the car. Shouldn't be an issue for larger cars, trucks, or SUVs but anything smaller than a Corolla will take up a chunk of windshield visibility.
Having the LCD and camera on the left is awesome, this alone makes it better than the HDVR-150.
The camera position is slightly adjustable since it is on a swivel base and can be adjusted independent of the mirror.
Update 2/25/13: I have managed to turn off the LCD during driving. I believe it's the "motion detection" option but not sure, I was just fiddling with it, went driving and magically the LCD turns off a few minutes after booting, this bumps the product to 4 stars.
Negative:
The video quality even at 1080HD was very... Questionable. I definitely wouldn't be able to read any license plates without being right behind them even at 1080HD. There's no reason to use the 720 or lower settings.
Worst flaw so far has to be the card slot for the microSD card. I nearly pushed my microSD card into the unit itself, since there's a hole there just big enough for the microSD to fall in if you don't pay attention to where you're putting the card. *Be very careful inserting a microSD card.*
"Rearview" is imprinted on the top of the mirror. Might be cool in Asia but that's just redundant and unnecessary.
More of an annoyance than anything but the car power adapter is at a 90 degree angle to the right when plugged in, not to the left. No big deal.
If I keep this unit, I'll probably rip the speaker out. It serves no purpose but to make annoying sounds while powering on and changing menu settings, only the latter can be disabled.
Neutral:
My 16GB Samsung class 2 microSD card did not work in the unit. It gives an error message. I'm going to chalk it up to the "class 2" part, I will do testing on higher capacity cards in the near future. I am looking for options to hide the cable and will post if I find a solution to that. The 8GB class 6 microSD card I am using works great even at the highest resolution setting.
Night drive clip
Literally my "video review" is just a 10 minute, unedited clip of just a Saturday night out. I tested the video at 10, 45, 70, and 5 miles per hour, respectively. The video is unprofessional but I could not think of a more real life situation where the camera would come to play. I did not test the daytime features yet since night driving is "the torture test". If I can see things at night, I can see those same things during the day. This video is linked in the comments section and tagged as NSFW for the audio content.
Conclusion:
I deduct a star for the video quality. The picture is pretty good but unless I can see license plates from at least 30ft away at night, and I'd gladly pay double the price for this feature, I'm not giving full marks. I should drop a star for the annoying welcome *sound*, the microSD card slot problem, and all the other small problems I listed above but I won't. I believe at $99, the product does what it advertises at a great price and would recommend it to a friend. Please leave a comment if you have any questions or would like anything tested.
I *will* update on reliability if the unit ever stops working. For this price, you can't get any better Car Dvr Camera with a 2.7 -inch LED than this one! I like its LED screen on the left side of the unit because it's easy for me to view as a driver. This Car Dvr also works as a rear view mirror! The set up is pretty simple since it is built in rechargeable battery, just insert a micro sd card in the unit then power on; set the time/date and select recording resolution! Installation is also very easy, just clip it on the car's rear view mirror then plug the supplied car dc to usb wire to the unit and that's it! It will turns on and start to record when you start the car, then it will stops recording and turns off itself when you shut off the car. The recording video quality on this Car Dvr is very good! It records 720p in 30fps; 1080 in 15fps and 1080p in 10fps. It captures still image in 12Mps. This unit uses micro sd card up to 32gb. It does loop recording in 2min, 5min and 15min. I configured it in 1080/15fps with sounds on 15min loop recording setting and it works great! With my setting, it captures street signs and front car license plate clearly on a close distance. Another thing that I like about this Car Dvr is the built in speaker was pretty loud. I enjoyed to play back the recordings on this Car Dvr very much!I chose this one because the camera is on the left side, which shifts the mirror to the left eliminating the interference with the passenger's sun visor.
It will record at 30 fps using a class 4 uSD card when set to 1280x768. With a class 6 card the frame rate drops to 15 at 1440x1080, and at 1920x1080 the frame rate drops to 10. It also has SVGA or WVGA setting which I have not tried. I think the 1280x768 looks the best, so that's the one I am using.
The Chinese/English instructions can be confusing, but you'll figure it out. The product I received must be a newer revision than the one the instructions were written for. One setting in particular, the frame rate, is not an option. I think the unit automatically calculates the highest frame rate it can use based upon the resolution and flash card's speed, which makes more sense to me.
Mine seems to be a little out of focus on the left side. The lens looks okay, so I am going to try cleaning it to see if that clears it up. The image is still clear enough to identify a vehicle. To read a license plate the vehicle must be fairly close, such as when pulling up to one that is stopped.
This video illustrates a strange effect I'm getting in HD mode. The recording is very jerking, some frames are missing. That's visible when there is an approaching car passing on the video. No such problem in any other modes.I think this thing is pretty cool. It works great. It takes a decent amount of time to figure out what buttons do what due to the ambiguous instructions though. Sometimes I hit a button while its recording and a key appears. I don't know if I locked something or if it is telling me it locked the functions because I shouldn't be playing with it while driving. Also the volume during playback seems to confuse me a bit.
Make sure you get a MICRO sd card though. I was a dope and clicked on one of those "70% of people who purchased this item also purchased this item" things. The other item was an SD card. When the mirror arrived I saw the micro sd slot and knew right away. Oh well, I picked one up at P.C. Richards locally. 32GB class 10 for twenty something bucks.

Viair 00088 88P Portable Air Compressor
15% duty cycle which means you should only run it for 1.5 minutes and let it cool down for 8.5 minutes. Then you can start again.
1.27 cfm @0 ps
20 ft maximum reachi
Cigarette lighter adapter
Kit bag
Overall it's a great little compressor but for light duty.
85p
40% duty cycle which means run for 4 minutes, then cool down for 6 minutes.
1.83cfm@0psi
Fills up to 31" tires
13 ft maximum reach
Cigarette lighter adapter
Kit bag
Overall another good compressor but you will blow fuses like there is no tomorrow unless you have a 20 amp cigarette lighter.
The worst part is the reach. 13 ft iwill make it hard to reach tires for mid sized cars and up.
90p
15% duty cycle which is 1.5 minutes of. Run time and 8.5 minutes of cool down time
1.77 cfm@0psi
Fills up to 31"tires
15ft maximimum reach
No cigarette lighter adapter but available if your cigarette lighter uses 30 amp fuses
Kit bag
Overall, bad run time, bad reach for air hose, uses too much power for what it does. Worst out of them all
88p (Save the Best For Last)
45% duty cycle 4.5 minutes run time and 5.5 minutes cool down time (highest out of all of them)
1.98 cfm@0psi (awesome) more air output means less time filling up tires
Fills up to 33" tires
20 ft maximum reach
No cigarette lighter adapter but available and might not blow your fuse if you have a 20 amp. Not sure though because I have not tried
No kit bag but go buy a cheapo from a big box store. It is probably more durable than the kit bags that come with the other kits.
Overall, the best in the price range. Most powerful and it is still just as small as the others. I have a Chevy 2500hd and it fills my tires up fast. The 88p laughs at my wife's range rover sport tires. I never write reviews but I am so impressed with this thing that I had to.Photo does not show it but there is plenty of air hose and electrical cord included with this compressor.
I am impressed with the quality of construction. The high duty cycle is a plus.
I recommend this to anyone who likes a high quality tool.

Its amazing how much quieter and FASTER this is as compared to those $20 air inflators.I think this is the best 12V inflator on the market right now. Comparing the tech specs (Duty Cycle,CFM, PSI) this has the best numbers.
Practically, topping off 15"(sedan) and 17"(suv) tires from 28psi to 34psi is a matter of seconds. It can inflate a flat bike tire to 50psi in about 10-15 seconds as well.
Too early to say anything about reliability and longevity but it seems to be solidly built and has a feel of quality to it. If it lasts I'd say this is the only 12v inflator I will ever need!

Took delivery of this little compressor last week just in time. My wife drove over a nail and got a slow leak two days later, which the wheel sensors picked up on eventually and flagged. A perfect chance to test the unit.First I ran around my own car's tires and verified the unit was working as expected, then moved onto the problem tire, which was inflated to working pressure (35 lbs/sqin) from about 15 lbs/sqin in about two minutes, including connect time. Impressive.
My thoughts:
The compressor is light.
The battery clamps could do with being a little larger so I could grip the battery posts on the Honda instead of the post clamp tag.
The built-in fuse is a welcome surprise (it is in a small module about halfway down the wire) and it is great that it is the automotive blade type rather than a cartridge type.
The gauge seems accurate, although as with all these compressors the unit must be turned off to get a reading and the difference between a running reading and a compressor-off reading will need a little practice for some to hit the working pressure without overshooting. I had no problem.
The gauge could be larger for those of us with tired old man eyeballs, but it is ok the way it is.
The unit runs much more quietly than any other compressor of the type I've owned. Those complaining of the noise don't know they are born (said grinning). My old compressor gave twenty years of good, solid, reliable, earsplitting service before it stripped a gear.
The air delivery definitely slows down in stages as the pressure rises. I'm not sure why that is. I was expecting a gradual loss of "oomph" as the little piston worked harder but it seems to go in steps.
I'm in two minds about the screw on connector. On the one hand it makes a very positive seal every time, on the other it is more fiddly than my old push-and-flip-to-lock one. However, experience shows they don't make economy compressors with proper cast quick connectors these days, preferring a cheaper folded metal and silicon seal affair that rarely works as intended but is very good at deflating the tire. All told, the screw connector is a good idea.
Shame it doesn't come in a bag, but I can fix that myself.
Look, I bought one of the cheap compressors you can easily find on Amazon only a few weeks ago, one with great feedback, and it was a piece of absolutely useless junk, fit only to be thrown in a landfill.
*This* compressor works and works well, and comparatively quietly. Yes it's a bit more fiddly to poke about under the hood than to plug in a cigar lighter adapter, but I'd rather that than burn out fuses in my cigar lighter and these Viair compressors seem to be high amperage units, to judge by the feedback. This one comes with hefty wires and is fused so your battery won't boil or explode if the current draw becomes excessive for any reason.
Save yourself the time and bad experience of being caught on the road with a flat and a bad compressor, spend a little more (in my case about $35 more than the landfill model) and get yourself a workmanlike machine that will get the job done.

This compressor is light years ahead of other cheap compressors I've owned over the years. It is mostly metal, is very rugged and has enough weight such that it does not move at all when it is on and working. My other cheap plastic units would do a river dance on the ground when they were working !There is lots of length in the battery connection cable (about 7ft 6in) and the hose (12ft) so reaching the rear tire on the opposite side of the car that the battery is on is no problem. Being able to connect it directly to the battery with the sturdy clamps is a godsend as I can't count how many cigarette lighter fuses I've had to replace over the years. This also means you do not need the car keys on hand to use it however obviously you have to get into the car to open the hood. It is very fast in operation and quiet too, you have to be careful to pay attention otherwise you could easily overfill the tire it works so fast. It also has a built in 20 amp replaceable fuse (ATO size) for protection. The hose has a metal connector that screws onto the tire valve, much sturdier and easier to use than the clamp style of connection.
Based on the the overall quality and operation of this unit I think that it's likely this may be the last air compressor I'll ever have to buy. Who knows, maybe it will become a family heirloom handed down from generation to generation :)
Yes, it's not cheap but like most things you get what you pay for. Very highly recommended.

These adaptors did just that.
I can now carry everything I need in the pouch to charge my GPS both at home and in my car.
Great combo great price You cannot go wrong.

Scytek - 2W-AM-LU - 2-Way LCD Paging Replacement Remote Transmitter - Front Buttons Are Lock And Un
I give it 3 stars because the price was great and shipping was quick. Everything works and was easy to configure but if it stops working whenever it feels like and i have to drop it to fix it, eventually the screen will break and i would buy another one to replace this one. This was so easy to program! It is an upgrade from the one I broke. I like this model because it turns the screen off so the battery doesn't go dead so fast. It is reliable and was to program if you have your operators manual. Works like a charm!Need to get a backup/replacement remote for my alarm system, this is a great alarm and remote starter on cold day.

I"ve had a couple of these for over 7 months & came back to write this review because I've been so pleased. It's small, very light weight for a battery & best of all it charges the phone, so you don't have to have it attached all the time... once the charge goes from the battery to the phone, just disconnect it & your back to a fully charged phone.I travel in exotic places that may or may not have access to power for a few days... with these little puppies I can charge my phone fully overnight without a power outlet anywhere near. (No it doesn't take overnight to charge the phone -it's actually very quick to transfer the power -but it's handy to do overnight just like an outlet if you don't have power available.)
You can also use it as a power adapter to charge the iphone -just put the battery on the phone, plug it in & it charges both the phone & the battery. Handy to not have to carry a separate charger.
It's also got prongs that fold in and a very spiffy reel on the cord of the charger. These things matter when you're traveling.
Some reviewers mention that it doesn't work with older iPhone... well, no, it doesn't & that's pretty clearly stated above. Hardly a reason to give a bad review -it's like complaining that your car doesn't fly very well.Items great but beware that this does not fit in input with the Otter case on so I can't use item.

This is one of the best iPod adapters for the money on the market today, hands down. The quality is unbelievable (assuming you have good quality songs on your ipod), you wouldn't know it's MP3/AAC and not CD. The aux input is handy, although i haven't had a use for it yet. I would recommend getting it professionally installed on a 2003 or newer Corolla, because the front panel of the head unit is connected to the main part of the head unit via a VERY short and VERY breakable ribbon cable, and in installing it, i broke a lead on the ribbon cable and now my eject button doesn't work. You can change tracks from your head unit, and use it for normal operation on "Disc 5" (depending on your settings... there are DIP switches on the back to determine how you want it configured). Disc 6 is for aux input, and Disc 1-4 are playlists, again depending on how you configured it. You can switch back and forth from a CD and the iPod by hitting the CD button on your head unit... it will switch between CD and CD1 (the ipod unit) if a disc is in.
The ONLY problem i've had with it is i believe the cable from the box to the ipod is giving me problems, but it only started after i'd had the unit for 8 months. i think it is shorting out inside. the head unit resets every now and then, and it seems dependent on how the cable is bent. i've contacted their support and hope to receive a new cable soon.

Install was pretty easy and worked perfectly with a stock 2006 matrix factory radio with single CD. Really liked the charging feature and the ability to change tracks with the radio up/down button was a great bonus. Very happy with the product and its integration with the radio.Want USA SPEC PA11-TOY Toyota Auxiliary Input and iPod Adapter Discount?
Installed this on my Toyota truck, easy to do with some on-line research. Now I have access to my 4K+ songs off my phone and recharge my device.Bought this wonderful product for my Video iPod originally. Works with iPhone but like all adapters not specifically made for it, is susceptible to the cell phone speaker interference. Note this problem can be avoided by turning the Airplane mode on, however I have found it's not any more annoying then the iPhone active and not attached to the system. Anyone who has had a ATT phone for very long knows the frustration of the cell to speaker interference problem. Additional it Powers\charges the iPod\iPhone with ignition off, it always on unlike cigarette lighter chargers. Vol is disabled on iPod\iPhone and works only on Head Unit. Minimal head unit read out. Head unit FWD/REV/PREV/NEXT work well or can be operated from iPod\iPhone directly. Supports and easily changes from Auxiliary input\iPhone\CD player.Monday, April 21, 2014
Yaesu VX-3R VHF/UHF DualBand Handheld Amateur HAM Radio Tranceiver!
With all hand held radios the problem is the small antenna. I can get ok reception but I live out in the sticks. I hooked up a roll up Jpole and wow. I cant wait to hook it up to a bigger antenna. You can have 100's memory set ups, several ways to scan. Like I said I am new and was a bit worried about all the different settings etc the book tells you step by step. I dont know how to do everything that this guy can do but you will pick up the regular settings easy enough. So far I have picked everything from police bands, EMS, Wendy's drive up, voice of america, voice of cuba, voices of I cant speak it, HAM chat, about 6 weather chans, regular AM/FM. I got all this from the regular antenna and the roll up J pole. This was in just a few days of messing around.
It is easy to travel with this. Throw it in the car, back pack, just a pocket. You can also order an AA battery pack so its easy to power it up if away from a charger.
Only thing not great are the small buttons, thats not a biggie since this thing is just bigger than a pager.Don't get me wrong. This is an awesome Ham Radio Transmitter for the size and price. Any radio that can open a repeater 30 miles away on only half a watt has got to be something special.
The problem I have with this radio is it's reception outside of the Amatuer Bands. To put it bluntly, it sucks. It is EXTREMELY susceptible to static, reception range is extremely weak, and you can barely understand the voice carrier wave for all the static.
As A Ham Transmitter, I give it Five Stars. as a reciver, I give it a Raspberry.
UPDATE: SEPT.18th, 2011: Apparently, my apartment has a lot of RFI. I took the rig outdoors, and it opened right up. Reception on the Aircraft Band is absolutely Fantastic! I snagged at least 30 diffrent ATC Frequencies in Scan Mode, some as far away as Las Vegas and Pheonix! Based on this, I'm changing my Reciver Rating to Five Stars. Outdoors, this is one awesome little Reciver. Just do not expect the same results indoors.
Buy Yaesu VX-3R VHF/UHF DualBand Handheld Amateur HAM Radio Tranceiver! Now
I owned this radio for only a couple of weeks. It has a wide band amplifier that is very susceptible to nearby transmitters. The police were coming in stronger than the frequency I was tuned to. It was a common problem whenever I was within a few miles of a tv or fm transmitter. If you're out in the boonies you may not have this problem, but near a city you may find your signal to noise ratio to be less than 1 a lot of the time. Not for me. I replaced it with an FT60, which works fine.Read Best Reviews of Yaesu VX-3R VHF/UHF DualBand Handheld Amateur HAM Radio Tranceiver! Here
I am a new ham and wanted a small affordable H/T eto begin with. The AM / FM broadcast bands come in clear as well as the local WX bands. Fast delivery and very eager to please customer service!
However, in my little car it tended to obsessionally tip over on one side.
Also, The static you hear when you are listening to your mp3 songs can get annoying but it's somewhat difficult to change the station because the placement of the station display is at the top of the thing and you can't see it without taking your eyes off the road longer than I, at least, am comfortable with.
The hands free talking feature is very cool and works well but listening to music is not a great experience. It just depends what you value most. I do use it enough to not have sent it back but I don't use it as much as I thought I would.Ok, hopefully I have done something wrong in installing this unit, because no one else talks about the fact that the unit is top heavy with the Blackberry in it. If I turn a corner, the unit itself turns around. I am very disappointed at the asethetics of this unit. Any suggestions? I haven't bothered with the FM transmission thing. Sounds like a good idea, but the thing is a hinderence when it is flopping around like a fish. It is difficult to keep the unit upright, and the flexible tube is awkward to bend. At this point, I would rather have a unit that securely holds the Blackberry. I don't care if it charges it or has the call through the radio. Have emailed the manufacturer, but have heard nothing. Going to look into returning this. Too aggervating fo me!This product works great with my Verizon Moto Droid. I'm able to listen to music, podcasts, and Google Navigation through my car audio system. Since there is nothing currently specifically marketed for the Droid, I figured this would work since it has the connections I need. I tested the hands-free feature and that works so well that the people on the other end did not know they were on speakerphone. The audio quality is as good as one could expect from a radio transmitter. I'm not sure about the durability of the spine in the long run, but for now, it's up to the task of holding up my (relatively heavy) Droid. Since this is a universal product, the placing of the ports isn't ideal for my particular phone. The audio cord comes from the bottom up to connect to the top of my phone, and the USB input is on the wrong side. This presents a bit of a cable management challenge. However, I knew this going in, so it was not a surprise.
I was a little worried that the USB charger would not work since I've had products fail to charge via USB before, but this is able to seamlessly charge my Droid via the provided Micro-USB.
Overall, though not overly elegant, this is a fine product to suit my needs.

Finevu NEW CR-500HD 16gb Full Hd Record Car Vehicle Black Box Recorder Camera Racing 1920x1080p@30f
- Ultra High Full HD 1080p Dash Cam Video Recording with SONY Exmor CMOS Sensor
- 2MP FULL HD Quality Video Recording with Fast Lens
- Customized Recording Modes 1080p Full HD / 720 HD
- Recording Frame 30fps / 24fps / 15fps / 5 fps
- Camera: 2,000,000 pixels
The camera attaches to the window with a special kind of double sided tape specifically for glass. Once you attach to window, it is on. The tape can be removed, but it is hard. I placed mine just right of my rear view mirror and to the left of my sun shade. I rand the power cord around the window, down the pillar, under my dash, and into the center column. The camera can be used with an always on power supply, but I choose not to use this feature. I only use the camera while I am driving. It has a parking mode and motion detection, but I disabled those two options. The camera speaks commands every time it changes modes. The camera will start recording the second power is turned on. It will beep and say "recording on". When the power is turned off, the camera beeps and will complete the current video recording, save it to the memory card, and then shut down. There are buttons on the back that you can use. The camera can take still pictures, mute audio recording, and save current video as an emergency event. This can all be controlled by the buttons on the back of the camera. When the camera is connected to a Windows PC, the camera beeps and says "USB mode". The camera shows up as a mass storage device with folders for different events. It has three folders called Event, Normal, Photo. Normal video is stored in the normal folder, shock events and emergency events are saved in the Event Folder and still photo's are stored in the Photo folder. All you do is copy and paste videos and photos to your computer. It is that easy. The camera has three G sensors that detect excessive amount of G-forces. If it detects any excessive G-force it thinks you have been in a wreck and will save video 5 seconds before and 35 seconds after the event, in total 40seconds of video. The camera saves video in AVI format so you would need a player that plays that format. Finevu offers a media player for the camera, but you have to download it from their web site. The camera has the settings software on the memory card so you can change the settings. All you do is click on the .EXE and install onto your Windows PC. After installation, you can change all sorts of settings. The camera can even format a new micro SDHC card if you decide to use a different card that you purchased separately. I am impressed so far by the camera. It is still too early to really give it good thumbs up. Finevu did a good job making a fine DVR black box. If they ever come out with newer products, I would buy from them again. Just keep selling on Amazon, and I will keep giving you my money. I do have a suggestion. If and when Finevu makes a new DVR black box, can you please include WIFI along with an IOS app? It would be very cool to be able to use my iPhone to record, watch, play back, change settings, and add multiple cameras?? It would be really cool to be able to control and view from multiple cameras. I could install a second camera in the back to record drivers behind me. If you added this to your next DVR black box, I would be first in-line to spend my money.I bought this camera after encountering couple idots on the road who were looking to create an accident. Also, saw a bunch of clips on youtube about accidents in Russia. This device will help provide objective picture for some complicated situations on the road. Might even help another person who got into accident in front of me.
Video quality is amazing in daylight and quite good at night. The camera is small (good for inconspicuous mounting) and very light. I liked the long power cable which allowed me to install the camera in my Odyssey without any visible hanging wires -it looks very professional.
I've put 32Gb (max allowed size) in it and it should be able to hold 2-3 days worth of recordings. Afterwards the oldest clip gets overwritten with latest. The camera records .avi files with 3 minute recordings.
I recommend disabling shock sensor for driving mode or you'll end up with a lot of false "Event" recordings after hitting pretty much any bump. "Event" recordings stay on the card and don't get auto-erased and this will lead to eventually full SD card. With disabled shock sensor this won't be an issue. This is a great little dash cam that is very simple to use. It comes with a 16GB micro SD card that can hold a decent amount of 1080p footage before having to overwrite data. The memory card has separate folders for "normal" footage and "event" footage (e.g. an accident) to prevent video of accidents from being overwritten with the normal footage. However, even changed to it's lowest sensitivity level setting, this camera's shock sensor is WAY too sensitive. It will go off when rolling over speed bumps (even the smooth ones), sloping curbs, etc. It got so annoying, I simply turned off this feature altogether. The camera can also be switched to "parking mode" which will record video if motion or impact is detected. I even use this as a security camera at the small office I work at, since where I park the wide angle lens views the front parking lot, cul-de-sac, and neighboring business. The camera will not drain your vehicle's battery, as it will shut off before your vehicle battery drops below a certain voltage.
The video quality is superb--fine enough to easily read license plate numbers and street signs. So far I've used this in the rain, sun, and at night, all with excellent results. The camera comes with a micro SD to SD adapter for use with any standard SD card reader. Thankfully, the videos are in a standard .avi format for easy viewing. The files are in chunks of a couple minutes each and clearly named with the date and time. It couldn't be easier to get to the footage you need!
I was disappointed that the camera only came with a mount requiring double-sided tape to attach to your windshield. I wish they had included a high-suction mount like portable GPS units use. It would be nice to be able to move the mounting point with ease not possible with a more permanent tape mount. They do include 5 clips (also with double-sided tape) for cable management, which is really nice. I was able to route the wires well enough that this camera looks professionally installed with no slack wire visible. And they give you PLENTY of length on the 12V adapter cable used to power the unit.
Mac users beware. You will be unable to change the camera settings without access to a Windows computer, as they only provide a .exe configuration app (a USB cable is provided to attach the camera to your computer as a "disk"). However, the camera disk image mounts perfectly on a Mac and you can access all video files with ease (or by using the SD adapter).
Also please note that this camera does NOT have a built-in GPS unit, so you will not have a speed and location readout on the video files unless you purchase FineVu's separate GPS unit that attaches to the camera.
I can't recommend this camera enough. And it feels so much better driving with a witness that doesn't lie. It tells the truth in HD ;-)Crystal clear image, audio capture is very good, small enough to hide behind your rear view mirror so it's not obvious it's even installed to even myself or passengers. It automatically starts recording when car is turned on and no skips in video. In a nut shell this its the best dash camera in the market so far. Expensive for sure but the pic quality is so so good. Keep in mind the HD 1080p thing exists in some other cameras too but this is the only one that delivers it at 30fps. Meaning better pictures at day or night. I owned briefly the other model from the same company FineVu PRO Full-HD 1080p but it delivers 1080 at I believe 15 fps if I am not mistaken. Trust me there is a big difference.
My only negatives with it is:
1Doesn't work with Macs. You need to download a converter called iSkysoft Video Convertor http://www.iskysoft.com Free at the beginning then you have to buy it. Excellent program by the way.
2The light from the buttons on the back of the unit are at night a little bit of annoyance.
However these are minor negatives when the main purpose is top quality videos in case of an accident God forbids.
BTW I also suggest you use the cam with the Panavise 809 Camera Window Suction-Cup Mount sold on Amazon. Its much better to use suction cup than the fixed 3M that comes with it. This way you can move the camera from car to car. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000246ST6/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Also you can buy a permanent wiring for it from Amazon too FineVu Dash Cam Uninterrupted Power Cable, Continuous Power Usage for Finevu Cr-500hd, Cr-300hd Car Black Box http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BWWRD46/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A4Z7UY2RWHCRJ
One more thing, Don't do like I did by purchasing a a larger capacity memory card 64GB which won't work with it. I guess its capped at 32GB.

Peak PKC0AO 300 Amp Jump Starter
I had a riding lawnmower that was draining batteries and constandly needed to be jumped off of my truck battery, which was incredibly cumbersome. Carrying this starter out to the lawnmower, jumping it, and then mowing the lawn was 100 times easier than backing out my truck, popping the hood, untangling the cables, pulling the mower out in front of the truck, and then jump-starting it. I've since repaired the lawnmower, but am keeping this handy little charger around for my wife's car, just in case she needs it. It barely takews up any room at all, and it holds quite a charge. I've jump-started my riding lawnmower twice and the battery indicator didn't even drop (I would imagine a car would take a much higher charge and therefore drain the battery more), but it still shows how much this charger is capable of holding.
If you're looking for a portable jump-starter, this is the one for you.My Mazda3 would not start, battery cells dried out or just getting old.
Had to call AAA twice and at the same time ordered this unit.
Sure enough, battery weak again, car would not start, a fully charged up Peak to the rescue, INSTANT success.
Drove the car on the highway for a while and it now seems OK.
With the Peak in the back, no longer a need to worry about getting stuck or calling AAA.
Its best features:
low cost
small size
recharges in home via AC or in car via DC, all cables included.
Two things to pay attention to:
When charging (and this is true of any such unit) make SURE ground is NOT touching painted surface, it MUST make contact with raw metal.
If ground is touching a painted surface, the units contact indicator can give a false reading of contact.
Use the battery terminal ground at your own risk, if you do so for whatever reason, be sure there is NO fluid or fumes coming from battery.
The built-in indicator showing the units strength must be used when unit is ACTUALLY charging, otherwise false reading may occur.
Highly recommended!

I have an remote starter on my car and after work I figured I'll start my car as I walk to it. The car didn't start but the headlights were on. I went inside the car and tried to start it with the key and nada. No noise or anything. My automatic starter must've glitched. I kept trying to turn the key to start my car in hopes by magic it'll turn over. NO luck. I stopped to think for a second and then figured I'll put the car in valet mode (it's for the auto starter) to see if I could bypass the remote starter. I did and nothing. My last option was to see if i killed the battery by trying to start it so many times. I took this out of my trunk that hasn't been charged in 4 months and connected the red to the red battery terminal and the black to a nut some where on the engine. The green light turned on telling me I had a correct circuit. I then turned the knob to power on the jumper. I ran to the driver's seat and tried to start it. A sign of life! It's trying to turn over. I counted to 4 and then tried it a second time and it turned right on. The scream i let out could have been heard in China (where it was most likely made). I can't tell you how awesome this unit is. I used it several times for my DC accessories and it last a very long time. This product has yet to disappoint me. 5 STARS! Thanks for reading.Read Best Reviews of Peak PKC0AO 300 Amp Jump Starter Here
I suggest anyone owning or considering buying this product read the post by Robert on 11/28/2010, esp. this part:"The built-in indicator showing the units strength must be used when unit is ACTUALLY charging, otherwise false reading may occur."
I can confirm that to be true. The indicator may show the unit at full strength when it is actually 50% discharged. It appears that you only get a true indication when it is charging that is not made clear in the manual.
I tested the amperage on the AC charger and got a reading of about 150 ma. At that rate it would take about 27 hours to re-charge the unit's 8 ah battery if it were 50% discharged. So if you use this as a 12 volt power source, you may need to charge it a while to get it fully recharged.

It sits in the trunk and holds it's charge until needed. Then it works to jump start the car.
It does what it says it will.

Goal Zero 11002 Sherpa 50 Battery
EDIT: 1/26/12 added a star
Shortly after writing my initial review I had plugged in my goal 0 battery to fully charge. My plan was to check it every 24 hours to see just how long it was holding a charge. After about 4 hours of having it plugged in I went to check on if it was fully charged, and to my horror it was blinking all sorts of lights and had a huge bulge in the middle of the battery, NOT GOOD! I immediately contacted goal 0 via their online chat. They didn't ask me a single question other than what my address was so they could send me out a brand new battery I was pretty happy about the exchange being hassle free! The very next day I had a package from goal 0 with my brand new battery. I've only had it for a few day's now and I'm trying to run it through it's paces to stress test it. It seems to be holding a charge longer than my original ever did. I still plan on doing my check every 24 hours to see how long it holds a charge for on this new one. Also this battery has some slight differences between the first battery I had. I'll try to post pictures to compare the two. After looking at a number of was to charge items while hiking(solar, mechanical, and batteries) I came across the Goal 0 equipment system. This system is excellent! The whole system is modular to allow customization for the type of excursion you are planning. The Sherpa 50 battery pack is perfect for me and my 2-3 day hikes. I usually take a iphone, GPS, and rechargeable speaker, all USB charged items. This system holds enough power to charge all of them. The optional solar pack to recharge the units makes this system perfect for even longer trips. Great all around product, easy to use and with and option inverter can power AC devices.

I have had a Sherpa 50, and a 120, for more than a year now. I have put the units through a lot of abuse including dropping and extremes of temperatures. They are very well built. When it comes to holding a charge, yes they do self drain but mine are usually fine for about a week. Good units though. I have been impressed with mine.I read a lot of reviews that strongly recommended to not buy any Goal0 products. Unfortunately I did not take their advice and purchased this battery pack and a few other Goal0 products. Big mistake. The first Sherpa 50 battery I bought melted during its first charge. I was able to return it to the manufacturer with no issues. However, the customer service rep did mention that she thought the melting battery issue had been resolved. That was worrisome. So they sent me a replacement battery that would not hold a charge for more than a couple days. That does me absolutely no good to have a battery bank that doesn't hold a charge. Don't buy anything from Goal0. There has to be something better out there.I bought a sherpa 50 from Goal0 late last year. I had the same self discharge issues. In a month it would go flat. I called them and they did not own up to the problem and just said it was fine! This model is lame. It still works but will not hold a charge for more than a few days. So I have to make sure it is well charged and then use it immediately. Not what I was expecting.Sunday, October 20, 2013
Pyle PLCM34WIR 3.5-Inch Monitor Wireless Back-Up Rearview and Night Vision Camera System

- Monitor Features:

- Night Vision Camera Without Video Cable FixingÑinstallation
- Automatically Switched On When Reversing
- 1 RCA Video Input
The monitor comes with two power cables, one for a permanent wired connection and a second for cigarette lighter/power port connection. I have not been able to get a picture from the camera with the power port cable even though the monitor does turn on. The first power cable has 3 wires. One for ground, +12 volts, and a blue wire which connects to the backup lights. The blue wire functions as a control signal to automatically turn on the monitor when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. When this cable is used and the blue wire is connected the monitor will receive the picture from the camera.
The buttons for changing brightness, color, and picture rotation are frequently non-responsive. If you are able to rotate the picture it does not stay in the orientation selected after power is removed and then restored.
The user manual is a two page document which is nothing more than a how-to for connecting the wires, a list of included parts, and the name or function for each of the push buttons. No information on how to operate it. The manufacturer's website has nothing more than the two page user manual and an option for emailing tech support. There is no list of FAQs or support forum.
It took a long time to get this product and if I had more time before the trip I purchased it for, I would return it. I would not buy this unit again.

The first one of these that I bought had a screen that was not on straight, and it rattled like a screw had fallen off inside. So I sent it back for a replacement. The second one looked fine, so I took it to a place whose specialty is installing such hardware. After sitting at the shop for a couple hours, I was told that it simply did not work. The guy warned me that the wireless units were basically junk, and the next time I do this, I should get one that is wired. So I had to pay $40 per hour for labor installing and uninstalling a piece of junk that "simply did not work". That being said, I bought these from the Amazon Marketplace rather than an individual seller. When I contacted them about both defective units, they were extremely polite, courteous, and helpful. They immediately sent me a prepaid shipping label via email. I requested a refund after the second unit proved to be a dud, and as soon as they got it back in the mail, my money was refunded. Not being able to install a backup camera was unpleasant and stressful enough. But Amazon's response mitigated much of it, and I thank them for it.I tried one and the camera portion did not work. I reordered and the camera for unit #2 did not work either.Under a hundred bucks, good deal.Does a good job. I'v been happy with it. Not very good with electronics, but installed it myself anyway, and it was not that difficult. I like the small size of this monitor, limited on space, it was the right choice. I have used it several times over the last couple months, and the system has been fine. Good picture, decent night vision, good backup camera.I bought this PYLE (aptly named) from Amazon and hence from ANTonline. I had a professional install it but it doesn't work. The monitor seems! to work but the camera is dead the LED lights do not come on. The lead into the camera is "hot" but nothing. I have tried to contact someone about getting suggestions RE: getting it fixed or returning it or just what can I do? It seems as though when one buys one of these things they wash their hands of the whole deal. I certainly would NOT recommend buying this or any other product if their customer service remains so poor.

Roadpro 7 Liter 12V Cooler / Warmer with Cup Holders
Keep in mind this unit is NOT a refrigerator or an oven as some reviewers have expected it to be. Pre chill or heat the items and this unit works marvelously all day long.
I also like the fact it only uses 2-3 amps since I plan and using it at times with a remote 12 amp hr. DC power source. This easily gives me a full 3 hours plus of heating or cooling without recharging. I also like that it's 8 1/2 inches tall on the inside for the taller bottles. This also works out great for the primary reason I bought this unit, to heat/cool 20 oz. CO2 tanks for my air rifles/pistols.
I haven't researched all the units or compared all the features but for $40 this Roadpro 7 liter cooler/warmer definitely is a good value regardless. I liked mine so much I purchased another one.
kdWe are very pleased with both Roadpro and their cooler. However, our experience did not start out so well. We received the Roadpro 12V cooler for Christmas 2009, and were so busy we did not have a chance to try it out until after Amazon's 30-day return policy had expired. The first unit we received did not cool at all. We contacted Roadpro through their website, and were pleased with their reply and instructions on how to return the bad unit for a replacement. We did so, Roadpro followed through with a new unit, and it works great. We keep it powered through a "Koolatron Battery Saver" in the car, which prevents the car battery from running down overnight. We also keep a blue cool-pack in the cooler, too help keep it cool when the battery saver turns off the power.
The unit holds a 6-pack of canned soda, or any equivalent amount of drinks or food. We recommend the Roadpro company, the Roadpro 12V Cooler, and the Koolatron Battery Saver.

Well, I ordered this for a long road trip we've just returned from and have to say I'm definitely disappointed. While it works, as in turns on and off, it doesn't actually "work," as in keeping beverages all that cool. Is it cooler than, say, the ambient temperature of your car? Definitely. Is it as cool as a cooler? Not even close. The unit's power connection also seems to loosen frequently with the jiggling motion inherent in a moving car, so that's another downer. Fortunately (????), it's quite loud (fan), so you can tell when it's jiggled itself loose, again, and fix it quickly. I will also note the cup holders on the top are NOT as pictured here, but are instead shallow slots on the top of the unit that are almost too small for a can of soda. At any rate, you wouldn't put a full can in as you have to wiggle the can to get it out and, therefore, spill it all over; which we did, several times. (Also, in case you're wondering, the cup holders are not cooling/heating.)
To sum up, if you put cold from the fridge cans in this unit, they'll say moderately cool as long as the unit is on, but not as cold as they were when you put them in. But this unit will NOT cool warm soda, even after it's been in there for hours, and the top layer of cans (they have to stack on top of each other to fit in 12) doesn't get any cooling at all, necessitating a constant shifting of drinks in order to use it. If you're trying to put in odd-size bottles or anything else ... Well, good luck with that.
We never tried the "keep warm" function but, all in all, I'm sorry I wasted my money and will stick with my $5 cooler and an ice pack from now on.

I'm an over the road truck driver and I run this cooler 24/7 weeks at a time and it has been working as described. While it's not a refrigerator, it does cool enough to keep my milk, butter, and mayonnaise from spoiling. Also plan ahead when putting items in it, because it can cool a room temp drink but will take about 5 hours.UPDATE 2/17/13 Broke after 3 months of use, Fan would come on with green light but just stopped cooling. So exchanged it and then after 2 months the replacement also broke. Same issue fan comes on everything sounds and appears working but just never gets cools. Ended up buying a 44Q Coleman 12v Cooler (ac cord also included)with 2 year extended warranty for $97 out the door at Walmart.

This is a very nice cooler and keeps foods and drinks cold for a long time.I purchased this for my grandson who is a truck driver. The other coolers
he purchased did not retain the cool temperatures for the long time he required.
The only thing that would make it better is that it could be a little larger.
