This is by far one of my favorite purchases ever. Connects via bluetooth to your phone or whatever else. I originally bought this so I could listen to my music and podcasts in the shower, without needing my phone in a steamy room to get ruined. Works great! I can keep my phone plugged in elsewhere and just bring the speakers outside or the kitchen. I have even taken it to the beach and kept my phone safely tucked away elsewhere. Also, this is by far the least expensive bt speaker, so I thought the sound would be awful. NOPE! The sound is excellent! Nice bass and clear highs. Think I might buy another!

I bought this speaker from Cell Phone Shop online store and so far I'm pleased with the quality for the price, sure it's no $400 high end speaker like a BOSE (Which is a over priced brand anyway) or maybe Ihome or Logitech Wireless Boombox or the quality you would get from a wired set of Quality speakers but for 25 bucks shipped its a good speaker that has decent volume which is what I wanted it for.

It has decent highs and good mid range and fair Bass for such small speakers you can't expect deep bass but at least it has some Bass.

It gets fairly loud without too much distortion at max volume on both the speaker and the Blue Tooth device if I set the speakers to Max volume and my Tablet it distorts slightly but if I set my tablet volume to less then max but leave the speakers at Max then it will not distort.

One thing I kind of don't like is how the volume on the speakers does not increase and decrease very gradually it kind of jumps in larger steps then other audio devices but that is easily composted by using the volume controls on your device.

I tested it with my Samsung Intensity 3 and it seemed to work ok with voice commands even if I did not hold it like a mike and was back a few feet in front of the speakers and it still understood what I was saying have not tried it on a actual call to a real person yet.

I also I like how it comes with a audio patch cable and a little disk thing for the stand it has a hole in it and I guess that is so you can put it on a string but I don't see where you can tie the other end to the speaker, there is a hole at the top right corner of the speaker but it does not go through to the side of the speaker so the string would have no where to come out and tie to the speaker, maybe the hole so to tie the speaker to something on a table to keep it from being accidentally pushed, pulled or knocked off the table.

The other good thing is the battery is a Nokia Cell Phone battery that is easily replaced and if you have old Nokia Phone laying around you can always have a charged battery handy and use the cell phone to charge one battery while using another one so if one battery runs out of charge you can just swap it out with the one already charged by the phone and charge the discharged one in the phone and not have to wait for the speaker to charge the battery before you can use it without being tied to the AC Outlet or you computers USB Port.

I've only had it a day so I can't say anything about the durability or longevity of the product but I hope it lasts many years.

Cons:

No Audio Out Jack to allow hooking to a home stereo but for only 25 bucks you can't expect lots of extra features

Volume control on speaker is jumpy and not very gradual or precise

Does not get real real loud but it's much louder then most if not all built in speaker on tablets and cell phones.

No carrying pouch or case

The power button is a mechanical manual switch as apposed to a electronic button so it may wear out eventually plus when it's plugged into the USB Cable it is slightly blocked making it difficult to slide when charging.

It has no indication when the battery is getting low, no beeps every few minutes or LED changing colour based on the battery level.

The operating instructions are on the box and since most people throw out the boxes their products come most people will lose the instructions, it would be better if the instructions were on a piece of paper or in a instruction manual plus the instructions are very basic and don't have much detail.

So initially when I started looking for speakers for my phone I was surprised to come across this one and through reading the reviews and specs decided to try some in store speakers instead. Once those were a bust I came home and ordered these. Shipping was fast and when I opened the speaker up to try it out I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to pair my phone and how great the sound was. Actually it's the only $20 blutooth speaker on the market. I bought it to test my appetite for pricer options. It drove me to the Jawbone (good but not $200 good) and eventually the Supertooth Disco (I hope it's $114 good). Based on reviews here and online it should be.

That having been said I kept this one. Good for just having around as a cheap option for the pool, beach or room to room music.

After deciding to take a chance, I am very impressed with this speaker! Under $25, paired automatically in seconds with my iPad 2, and very respectable sound quality. I agree, the sound buttons are dodgy ( long press for volume change, short press for track change) and it is simply easier to control off the iPad itself, but I can live with that.

This is not for the audiophile, but great function at a low price. Highly recommended.

I just bought this unit. First off I would like to point out. Most of the users that are not satisfied with this unit should read the instructions. And you can spend a lot of money on a name brand battery booster. Most of them do not last more than a couple of years (Keep it charged and you might get 3 years). You are talking about a rechargeable battery. I am in the industry and you can pay 150 for a unit it will last the same amount of time.

This unit has a internal charger and it is a float charger, that means you can leave this unit plugged up all the time. Matter of fact if you read the instructions. It tells you to leave it plugged up all the time to keep the charge going. This will make your unit last much longer also. Never never let a rechargeable battery go dead and stay dead for a period of time. This will definitely kill the battery and it will not take a charge. It's the same method with your rechargeable batteries on a drill whether they are lithium or whatever. Never never let a battery go completely dead for a period of time.

For 69.00 dollars at Costco you can't beat that deal (this is for home use and recreational not for being used in a shop). I have purchased Schumacher battery boosters before and they last just as long a couple of years and they cost much more. If you want one for a shop, try the Solar E2500 or E5000, they cost about 130.00 to 180.00 and they will only last maybe a couple of years on the rechargeable battery, but are heavy duty for a shop or even a Clore battery booster for about 300.00 plus and that will last you about 3 to 4 years.

I have not tried the jumper yet. But like any jumper, most will not start a totally dead or defective battery. Some jumpers need some voltage in a battery to get it to activate, not sure about this one yet. But it has saved me when my cell phone died a couple of times, me being a knucklehead and forgetting to charge my phone. I have not used the compressor on car tires yet, but I have used it on my grandkids basketball and it was fast. Also the light is bright, would like for it to have been more flexible but, Its ok. Overall, excellent Unit so far for what I paid for and the purpose of this unit.

I recieved the powerstation as a gift about a year and a half ago. It worked great until I went to use it a few days ago. I turned on the compressor by pressing the switch and it would not turn off. The switch got stuck in the on position. It kept running and running until I took the unit apart and pulled the wires to the switch. If someone didnt do this I dont know how long the pump would continue to run, but I view this as a safety hazard. I called the company and they told me unless it was within the 1 year warranty they couldnt do anything. I mentioned the potential safety concern and got no response other than they would replace the unit if it was still under the 1 year warranty period. I get it, but be warned the switch may not turn off one day. I can only hope to find a replacement switch at a local electronics store. I guess the manufacturer doesnt belive in feedback and / or product improvements.

First let's clear the air, this is not a commercial unit and as such is not built for banging around but will generally last almost if not as long as a commercial unit. Even commercial unit batteries eventually die and must be replaced.

Air compressor I do not recommend using it as your primary air source. This is for emergency air or occasional use only, not to inflate your air mattresses, large items and to top off your leaky tire on a daily basis, get it repaired! I have used it to add air while on the road but it is loud and takes some time, it has a tiny air compressor inside so keep this in mind but it does work. For inflating large volume, low pressure thing go and buy a compressor made for that purpose, you'll be much happier.

Worklight Fairly bright, easy to use switch on the front BUT since it's fixed you have to wrangle the unit around to make it useful, would have been better to have a retractable head but then people would break it and complain about it. Maybe a built in one with a gooseneck or something would be better, not a deal breaker by any means.

12V outlet Works as it should, non issue.

Charging No external adapter to mess with, just plug it into a utility type extension cord and you're done.

Cables Decent quality, fairly heavy duty good clamping and easy to store. Only gripe is they could be longer but are workable and I've been able to jump my vehicles without other issues.

Jump start performance I've had EXCELLENT experience with this unit and bring it with me whenever I go on road trips. I have used this many times and it has more than paid for itself in convenience and speed. It has started even recently dead batteries after hooking it up and waiting a few minutes.

This is an excellent product to have in the trunk of my car.

Solidly built and easy to carry, this is a well-constructed product. The organization of various cables for jumping, pumping, and charing is excellent. The positions and functionality of meters and buttons are great as well.

As other reviews have mentioned, you will not overcharge this product even if you leave it connected to the AC outlet. However, the manual clearly warns against leaving the unit connected to the 12V outlet in a car for more than 2 hours, or it would damage the unit.

2/25/13 Update: Screen update, bumped stars from 3 to 4.

Packaging:

Amazon shipped me an extremely beat up box. No stars removed for this since it is for the product but the corners were smashed in pretty hard.

The "retail" box it ships in is very nicely sleeved with all the random Engrish on the outside and a very sturdy, thick (albeit smashed) inner white box that folds out.

The unit was wrapped with some foam and a plastic sheet over the glass.

Protip: Don't remove that plastic sheet until after testing the unit, setting it up and hiding the cables or you'll be cleaning fingerprints everywhere.

Inside the box: the unit itself, a standard miniUSB to USB cable, miniUSB to car accessory power cable (roughly ~10ft long, I forgot to measure it), an AV "white and yellow" cable, and more Engrish papers.

Positive:

The unit is big. Probably around twice the size of my stock 2010 Toyota Corolla rear-view mirror. It was a shock but the way these are designed to clip onto an existing rear-view mirror means it has to be larger so the camera can see the road. I actually like the larger mirror much more after having it mounted but it does create a small blind spot to the front of the car. Shouldn't be an issue for larger cars, trucks, or SUVs but anything smaller than a Corolla will take up a chunk of windshield visibility.

Having the LCD and camera on the left is awesome, this alone makes it better than the HDVR-150.

The camera position is slightly adjustable since it is on a swivel base and can be adjusted independent of the mirror.

Update 2/25/13: I have managed to turn off the LCD during driving. I believe it's the "motion detection" option but not sure, I was just fiddling with it, went driving and magically the LCD turns off a few minutes after booting, this bumps the product to 4 stars.

Negative:

The video quality even at 1080HD was very... Questionable. I definitely wouldn't be able to read any license plates without being right behind them even at 1080HD. There's no reason to use the 720 or lower settings.

Worst flaw so far has to be the card slot for the microSD card. I nearly pushed my microSD card into the unit itself, since there's a hole there just big enough for the microSD to fall in if you don't pay attention to where you're putting the card. *Be very careful inserting a microSD card.*

"Rearview" is imprinted on the top of the mirror. Might be cool in Asia but that's just redundant and unnecessary.

More of an annoyance than anything but the car power adapter is at a 90 degree angle to the right when plugged in, not to the left. No big deal.

If I keep this unit, I'll probably rip the speaker out. It serves no purpose but to make annoying sounds while powering on and changing menu settings, only the latter can be disabled.

Neutral:

My 16GB Samsung class 2 microSD card did not work in the unit. It gives an error message. I'm going to chalk it up to the "class 2" part, I will do testing on higher capacity cards in the near future. I am looking for options to hide the cable and will post if I find a solution to that. The 8GB class 6 microSD card I am using works great even at the highest resolution setting.

Night drive clip

Literally my "video review" is just a 10 minute, unedited clip of just a Saturday night out. I tested the video at 10, 45, 70, and 5 miles per hour, respectively. The video is unprofessional but I could not think of a more real life situation where the camera would come to play. I did not test the daytime features yet since night driving is "the torture test". If I can see things at night, I can see those same things during the day. This video is linked in the comments section and tagged as NSFW for the audio content.

Conclusion:

I deduct a star for the video quality. The picture is pretty good but unless I can see license plates from at least 30ft away at night, and I'd gladly pay double the price for this feature, I'm not giving full marks. I should drop a star for the annoying welcome *sound*, the microSD card slot problem, and all the other small problems I listed above but I won't. I believe at $99, the product does what it advertises at a great price and would recommend it to a friend. Please leave a comment if you have any questions or would like anything tested.

I *will* update on reliability if the unit ever stops working.

This Car Dvr also works as a rear view mirror! The set up is pretty simple since it is built in rechargeable battery, just insert a micro sd card in the unit then power on; set the time/date and select recording resolution! Installation is also very easy, just clip it on the car's rear view mirror then plug the supplied car dc to usb wire to the unit and that's it! I configured it in 1080/15fps with sounds on 15min loop recording setting and it works great! With my setting, it captures street signs and front car license plate clearly on a close distance. I chose this one because the camera is on the left side, which shifts the mirror to the left eliminating the interference with the passenger's sun visor.

It will record at 30 fps using a class 4 uSD card when set to 1280x768. With a class 6 card the frame rate drops to 15 at 1440x1080, and at 1920x1080 the frame rate drops to 10. It also has SVGA or WVGA setting which I have not tried. I think the 1280x768 looks the best, so that's the one I am using.

The Chinese/English instructions can be confusing, but you'll figure it out. The product I received must be a newer revision than the one the instructions were written for. One setting in particular, the frame rate, is not an option. I think the unit automatically calculates the highest frame rate it can use based upon the resolution and flash card's speed, which makes more sense to me.

Mine seems to be a little out of focus on the left side. The lens looks okay, so I am going to try cleaning it to see if that clears it up. The image is still clear enough to identify a vehicle. To read a license plate the vehicle must be fairly close, such as when pulling up to one that is stopped.

This video illustrates a strange effect I'm getting in HD mode. The recording is very jerking, some frames are missing. That's visible when there is an approaching car passing on the video. No such problem in any other modes.

I think this thing is pretty cool. It works great. It takes a decent amount of time to figure out what buttons do what due to the ambiguous instructions though. Sometimes I hit a button while its recording and a key appears. I don't know if I locked something or if it is telling me it locked the functions because I shouldn't be playing with it while driving. Also the volume during playback seems to confuse me a bit.

Make sure you get a MICRO sd card though. I was a dope and clicked on one of those "70% of people who purchased this item also purchased this item" things. The other item was an SD card. When the mirror arrived I saw the micro sd slot and knew right away. Oh well, I picked one up at P.C. Richards locally. 32GB class 10 for twenty something bucks.

I'm using this small inverter in a PV system to turn on an array of 110V garden lights (a total of 40 Watts) for 4 hours every night and it has been working faultlessly the last two months. The fan is a bit noisy but tolerable. Happy with this product so far.

Purchased this product to have handy in the car just in case. Took it to Florida with us when we drove to charge up the laptop and it works fine. Actually used it during "Sandy" to charge up the laptop and cell phones when the power in our house was out for several days. The USB insert is a nice surprise since I was able to charge my Kindle on it too. It is a bit bulky and you can hear the fan whirling, but its not obnoxiously loud and if you have your radio on you don't even notice it.

At night, this phoney alarm looks very convincing. When you mount it, rest it on a ledge since the velcro that comes with it is not very strong. I wanted to get something to make under my hood look snazzy, so I got this tiedown. it came when it was scheduled to and the packaging was nice and neat. the bar itself appears to be alu and it colored very evenly blue. it comes with a rubber piece that is meant to stay inbetween the battery and the tiedown itself. you have to use half of your stock tiedown to hold the blue topper in place so dont buy as a complete replacement because you will need to buy additional pieces. I hope this helps, remember you only get a piece of alu and a thin piece of rubber thats been cut to shape, you do not get the side posts.

We drive to and from a vacation house which we rent every year, a round trip of approximately 2000 miles. This involves travel where the temperatures can be over 90 degrees and which involves overnight motel stays on our way there and home. For the past few years we have packed our food (both for the trip and staples for our vacation) in our car, which is an added advantage of driving, which we much prefer, to flying. We have kept our refrigerated items in a 12 volt car refrigerator which we bought from the manufacturer of my wife's car as an relatively inexpensive option, and supplemented that with a cooler with ice packs. While that system kept the food cool, it was less than ideal for several reasons. First, we could not bring frozen items, since they would not stay frozen given the air temperature, the cooling abilty of the unit, and the length of the trip.Second, the battery draw was great enough that we could not keep the refigerator running during our overnight stays, thus the interior temperature of the unit would gradually rise and it only gradually cooled the interior when restarted. Third, it took a long time to cool items if we did not refigerate them first. Fourth, the seal was not very tight and the exterior insulation relatively thin. Fifth, it was only on or off, there was no temperature control. We also used the unit for other shorter trips or for transporting frozen foods from the grocery store during the summer, but these deficiencies were not problems in those circumstances.

That unit failed last winter after five years of use, and I decided to research the available options before our vacation last month. I only now wish that i had done that years ago. The refrigerator which we had had a thermoelectric cooling unit, certainly better than a cooler using ice packs but not capable of acting as a true freezer and most importantly having the disadvantage that i mentioned of a considerable power draw. This unit (and a few other brands as well) has a compressor and is a true refrigerator freezer. In addition to the power buton it has easily accessible controls (and a visible thermometer) on the front of the unit to change the temperature setting and also set the maximum battery drawdown allowable before the unit will shut off if you are not running your automobile engine. It has a lid that is both easily removed and reattached, and a 50 quart storage area with a basket and divider that allows the compartment to be subdivided into two or three sections. This is epecially convenient for separting things such as produce, dairy and fruit from other refrigerated items. The unit is completely CFC free, and the cabinet is coated zinc steel. There is also a 120-240 volt cord, so the unit can also be used in a home, cabin, garage or anywhere with electrical power. It does not evenm have to be emptied or restocked or can be used as supplemental refrigerator freezer for overflow (or beer or soda storage during picnics and parties) at any time.

The exterior dimensions are H20", W15"" and D27.8".The interior dimensions of the main compartment with the basket not divided are are H15.8", W11.2" and D13.3''.The adjacent small area over the compressor is H8.1", W11.2" and D6". Remember that you will also need to allow sufficient clearance around the unit for the air vents to have proper circulation, you cannot put it in a tight enclosed area or right next to a wall..

You can also purchase an optional transit bag to keep the exterior scratch free or a tie down system if you plan to use it in offroad travel or boating, but we did not consider these necessary so I cannot review them

After a lot of research and reading reviews on several different sites, I decided that it was worth the much higher expense of buying a true refigerator frezzer with a compressor rather than a thermoelectric cooler. A 50 quart unit seemed adequate for personal needs, and units approximately that size seem to be the most popular among casual users who use them for personal trips. I decided to buy the ARB unit, which was neither the cheapest or most expensive. ARB is the largest Australian manufactucter and distributor of 4X4 accessories, and this was originally designed for use in the rugged (and hot) Australian outback. It had gotten excellent reviews and I liked the design, the capabilties and the ease of use of the controls. Amazon had a very opmpetitive price and free shiiping with two day delivery, which guaranteed that it would arrive in sufficient time before our trip so that I could test it for a few days to make sure that it functioned properly.

We used it during our sixteen day trip which totaled over 2300 miles and it performed flawlessly. The unit cooled to the indicated temperature rapidly. It kept our food cold, it kept our drinks cold and even kept the remainder of our subs fresh when we stopped to eat on the road. The power draw was low enough so that the unit did not warm up during our overnight stays. It has also been a real benefit to use it recently to transport our refrigerated and frozen food to our home from the warehouse club about 25 miles away.

My wife still considers it an expensive toy, but agrees that it worked exceptionally well and made our trip simpler and more enjoyable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This fridge/freezer is amazing. I live in hot east texas and drive a black truck with black interior. I keep this fridge set on 33 degrees farenhiet. I always have cold food and drinks. If I don't start my truck for 3 days, the fridge will automatically shut off. I have the cut off voltage on the fridge set to the middle position (can't remember the exact voltage). Even if the fridge has shut off, it leaves plenty of juice for my truck to start. This was in the dead of summer when my inside truck temps probably exceeded 140 degrees or more, so I'm sure the fridge was running a lot. I drive around 10,000 miles a month, so my truck doesn't normally sit for 3 days without being started. I love being able to keep meat, leftovers, or whatever in this fridge without having to buy ice, or worry about everything being water logged. I think this fridge should pay for itself in no time. I buy cases of ozarka water to keep in the fridge and this saves me about a dollar every time I grab one ot of the fridge instead of stopping at a convenience store. Not to mention the money I save on power aid, gatorade, and food. I am absolutely impressed with this fridge!

I drive a delivery truck in the Texas heat, and this fridge is the best investment I have ever made. I can't tell you how much money I have saved by not stopping for food and drinks. Even if I wasn't saving money, I would probably still buy one. It is so convenient to be able to reach behind the seat and grab a cold drink. I don't have to worry about ice or loading it in the morning. I just refill the fridge once a week, and I am set.

As a test, I put the fridge in my car to see how long it would last before it shutoff due to low battery voltage. After five days, it was still going strong, but I had to end the test because I needed to drive my car. My point is that I have no worries about leaving it running for long periods of time.

When I bought the fridge, I was a little concerned about how well it would cool in a hot car. It does amazingly well. My car gets up to over 150 degrees when it is sitting in the hot sun, but the fridge stays at the preset 33 degrees all day long.

There are several manufacturers of these 12 volt fridges, and I did a lot of research before I purchased the ARB unit. It is a very well designed fridge, with the removable lid, easy to use controls, and low power usage. My only complaint is the price, but Amazon has the lowest price I've found.

I have owned the ARB Fridge/Freezer for about a year now and it is awesome! I've taken it on several campouts where I powered it only with a deep cycle battery and a solar charger. This unit quickly gets down to the temperature you select and stays there. I also take this fridge once a month to the closest military base where I load up on groceries at the commissary. The base is about an hour away and I usually make other stops along the way. No need to hustle home to keep the ice cream from melting! Everything on this unit is built rugged. The motor is whisper quiet and it will not run down your battery. The removable lid is excellent for use in SUV's where it can be difficult to open a cooler lid all the way. Cleanup is a breeze, just rinse the inside, pull the drain plug and let it air dry. For Christmas my husband wanted a fridge for his 1965 FJ-45 shortbed pickup. I know that he likes ARB products, so I bought him the ARB fridge freezer. He was a very "happy camper". In fact, we have taken the fridge with us on several business trips (one to Phoenix where you really need the cold to keep anything from spoiling). We were able to pack a couple of growlers of beer, six pack of sodas, water, meat, cheese, vegetables and fruit (without them freezing in the special compartment). We didn't have to spend nearly as much at restaurants, our items didn't get wet (like they did in an ice chest) and were able to be comfortable on the long trips. It opens and closes easily and doesn't take up any more room than our cooler that we used to carry. All-in-all we are both very pleased.

I purchased this unit to charge batteries for emergency use to power a ham radio station. The charger works excellent and with 40 AMPS starting it can charge super fast. The fan is actually real quite when it runs and the backlit LED display is a plus also. The charger is what I call a true auto charger. It wil automaticly choose the rite amps for the battery and how much it is depleated. There is a voltage checker which is pretty handy also and this thing will even do diagnostics on your alternater -TOTALY COOL. I purchased my unit at lowes because I needed it rite away. If your looking for a safe charger that wont over charge your batteries and is set and forget this is it. It will shut off when done and stores power cable and charge leads on board. The LED display shows how many amps it is using as it charges and easy to read.

The charger works well enough but it appears to be manufactured by the same Chinese company that manufactures the smart chargers for Black & Decker and Vector, and it has the same problem that the other brands have... a VERY cheap sleeve bearing fan! The fan on these chargers is critically important. If it fails, the charger will overheat and it WILL burn out. I had a Vector do this a few years ago and then a Black & Decker do it a couple of months ago. The very first time that I used this brand new Stanley, the fan started making the dreaded "grinding noise of death". Unbelievable! I am NOT going to pay to ship it back. I can buy a quality 60mm x 20mm dual ball bearing 12v fan for under $10, take the charger apart, and replace the cheap junk fan. For the life of me I can't figure out why the manufacturer can't spend $2 more on a quality fan given the fact that it is so critically important to the charger's survival. This is fairly typical of much of the cheap Chinese crap that is being sold these days. The problem is that there aren't ANY alternatives available anymore, virtually EVERYTHING is made in China and virtually EVERYTHING made in China is built cheap to sell cheap!

Stored this in the unheated garage until I needed it. When lovey wife left the interior lights on in the Jeep I needed a charger. It was around 32F and after plugging the BC4009 in and connecting to the car battery I get a snowflake symbol next to the clips symbol and no charging. No voltage reading either. Freaked out, this is BRAND FREAKING NEW. Why won't this thing charge my dead battery in cold weather? Thankfully I took a few deep breaths and read the manual where I find out the battery has to have at least two VDC left in it for the charger to know it's connected to a battery. Now I'm quite happy with it. I especially love the ability to wrap the cables up in the housing. No more wire tangle! Much simpler to operate than previous chargers.

The charger works well and is a good value for the money. The only misleading aspect it the battery boost or quick start. It appears as though it is only a 40 Amp charge for 3 min. There is no higher current boost.

Under the usual field conditions, windy, wet, cold and dark the first use was with a completely dead battery in a vehicle in the oiutside shed in the dark. The charger does not work like any othe simple units I had ever used and would not charge until I began the charge by paralleling a trickle charger to give the necessary voltage to the internal sensors in the Stanley charger,Probably good to use in shop or normal charging use but not for some emergency use in field, especially if battery is completely dead.

Ok, I am what you would call a valued Amazon customer. I order from Amazon very often and for many years and this is the first bad review like this I had to write. I actually read the reviews before ordering this charger and decided that the 2 that I read (with different issues) had to be just bad units. WRONG.. The charger I received was in fact USED, not new as described. Also the charger did not work at all. The port that plugs into the phone was so worn that it would not even stay in the phone.. (really Amazon). What bothers me the most about this is Amazon shipped this from one of their many warehouses. I often will change who I order from if Amazon will be shipping it as I have experienced that they will take pride in putting their name to something they ship. I have always had high regard for Sony's products. They design always used to be very thoughtful with attention to the slightest details. However, I'm quite disappointed with this product as well as the Sony bluetooth headphones that pairs with this. Most of them may seem like trivial issues, but in the long frequent run, they turn out to be really annoying, especially after you pay for a premium product.

The few good things first. The sound quality is flawless, when in range. There's no noise or hissing and every note is clear. The device itself is really easy to use and I have no qualms about that; simply turn it on and use it. Battery life is alright, but I don't think you can replace the battery. (Not sure about that one yet.)

The things that annoy me are the following. Maybe you are like me too?

#1. You can't use the device while its connected to the charging dock. You can't use it while it's charging either. Maybe it's not intended to be used as a desktop device. But unfortunately, that's what I bought it to be used as. So you have to charge it and remove out of the dock.. (leave it hanging or something) every time you want to use it.. really annoying if you are using it on a regular basis. I can't see how they can overlook such an issue.

#2. Range is limited, when compared to other transmitters in the market.

#3. The power plug/transformer/adapter's design can't be worse. The plug is so wide, when plugged in, you can't plug anything next to it. This may seem like a silly issue, but it can become so annoying, esp. when you have a zillion other things plugged into your outlet box, like mine. How can Sony design something so horrible? They could have made the plug stand vertical like the zillion other plugs out there are. At the least, they could have made the plug retractable. Huh.

#4. The audio latency seems to be slightly longer than when connected through other transmitters, which is really strange. I know bluetooth protocol has the inherent latency issues. But it's worse with this device.

#5. The coiled wire is such a nuisance.... well, atleast they seem to have fixed it with the newer models.

This product works very well. The only reason I did not give it five stars is the clip on back that holds it in place does not have very much gripping strength. Also, sure wish Sony would have provided a standard-size port for charging. (maybe mini-USB?) If something happens to the charging base, you're hosed! Having said that, the transmitter is very easy to pair, and the coiled cable allows you locate it wherever you need to. I got this to use with my 2nd gen iPod touch and I consider it an invaluable accessory.

This unit transmits good quality audio. The cable will be a plus for some, a negative for others. It paired easily with my Motorola HT820 headphones. There are some infrequent dropouts. The charging base seems unnecessary and bulkey. The range is about half of what is stated without interfering obstacles.

This is going back. I purchased this to use with my MP3 player for jogging, on the treadmill / elliptical and also for watching TV at night without disturbing my family. I paired this with the Motorola S9 bluetooth headphones (which work great when paired with my bluetooth phones). At any distance over about 5 feet the signal breaks up. Never works through walls. When trying to run or work out using this just the movement of my body causes interference and the signal constantly breaks up. Totally unusable no matter whether I wear the radio / transmitter in front or back. I always clip it outside the pocket, but no luck. It's important to note that the S9 headphones paired with just my cellphone has a range of about 20 feet including through walls, through my body, etc. Just a weak transmitter on this Sony!

My wife bought this Sony product from a big box store. Loved it. Thought I would try and save some money by using Amazon. Found it being sold for almost 20$ less. Know I know why. The picture you see on this website is of an extension cord (that plugs into earphone jack of any A/V device) that is expandable. The one I received when I purchased it here on Amazon was static and unstretching and renders it almost useless if you wear it on your waist while walking, running, working around the house. It is only like two inches. The one my wife bought, expands and I use it all the time while my new one sits virtually unused. Maybe I should contact the dealer to get my $$$ back, but that also seems like more hassle. Don't be fooled by this picture. This isn't the one they send me.

I wish that they had labeled the lights Left and Right for easy setup.

They did not so I labeled them myself with a white paint marker.

This lasted a quarter mile on the car being towed before they fell off and broke into a million pieces along the road. They barely made it out of the driveway. Better magnets would be great, these ones barely hold together when you put them magnet to magnet.

1 light was lit solid, the other light was very dim. I couldn't see a way to remove the lenses to do troubleshooting without

breaking the lenses. The magnets were very weak and wouldn't stay in place without strapping them down. I used these lights

one time to tow a log splitter 15 miles and when i got home I removed the magnets cut off the wire and threw the lights in the trash.

I have purchased THREE of these units (Scosche) and they have failed. One lasted a couple of months, this last one lasted a couple of years. First one the chime speaker went out AND left the radio power on after the key was turned off. This one left the radio on too! The first time this happened my wife did not notice and left the radio and two pretty powerful amps on and it left her stranded with a dead battery. The radio was on pretty low and the drain was enough to kill the battery during an 8 hour shift. She manually turns off the radio now to shut off the amps but the radio is still illuminated. Not enough to run the battery down but still that sucks.

EDIT: THIRD one has failed. What a total pain. I tell you why i have been so stubborn on buying one after another of these. I have all the wiring soldiered together and just buying another box is a quick swap. i am sick of it and I will never buy another product from this company again.

I ordered this product and it worked for about two weeks. Then it would work sometimes and other times it would just quit. About a month after installing this it would come on and then just shut off. I would then have to restart my car sveral times to get the product to work. Now it has been a few months and the product doesn't work at all. I have contacted the company and they will replace it, but I first have to send them the product. This will take about a week and will come at my expense. They take about a day to process the unit and then return it or a new one depending. The return will also take a week. So two whole weeks without a radio and I will have uninstall and then install it again and I will have another expense. Just a bit rediculous and not worth wasting my time. Easier to go to Bestbuy or Walmart and buy a new one.

This item is serving its purpose, but it is cheaply made and the door chime sounds terrible. It sounds like the speaker is blown even though it's not, its just that cheaply made. This is no fault of the seller, Scosche just makes a pitiful product. Save your money. Auto Zone has an adapter made by Metra that will match up with the factory adapter. You will just have to run a remote wire from the fuse panel up to your radio. There is no remote wire in the original wiring harness. It uses a data wire to turn on the radio with the ignition, which will not work with aftermarket stereo's. I am very disappointed in this product. For $55 This thing should rock, and sadly it doesn't. I also purchased a dash kit that was made by schoche so that my radio would mount to my oversized dash opening. I had to modify it to make it fit and the fitment still isn't perfect. I will not purchase any more Schosche products. Please try something else rather than buying this.

Update: After less than a week, this thing completely stopped working. The radio would power on and off sporadically. Sometimes it would work, other times, I would start the truck and get no radio until i turned the truck off again. I returned this and the seller gave me a full refund and paid for return shipping, so props to them. I purchased Metra part #AW-WHGM3 and ran my own remote wire from under the dash. I did have to move a few of the pins on the Metra adapter, but that is no problem. Just grab the pin with needle nose pliers and shove it out of the adapter.

All the bad reviews you see are true. The trouble traces to a relay that they use to switch from radio to chime. It is a common relay which is nice because you will find your self changing it every 3 months. This is a significant design problem. I have just purchased the Metra product to replace this disappointing and repeatedly defective product. I have replaced relays using multiple suppliers in an effort to give this item a chance, but none has been able to overcome whatever design flaw is within the system. BEWARE THIS ITEM WILL LEAVE YOU WALKING IF THE RELAY FAILS WHILE THE RADIO IS ON AND YOU DO NOT NOTICE THE PROBLEM. Buy the Metra item. It has good reviews and costs less.
