It worked well for 2 weeks and seemed to provide good power from a cigarette ligher outlet. The fan is much louder than most similar units and can just barely be heard above the car noise at highway speed. The fan is completely off with no load, but turns on full for any significant load. I powered laptops with the unit for two weeks, then I connected the unit to a handheld car vacuum. The vacuum ran for a few seconds and the inverter died. No user replaceable fuses were inside. The fuses I did see were not blown. An important lesson.. always test inverters with full loads before the warrenty is up.

Received this inverter a couple of weeks ago and I am happy with its performance. I am preparing for an extended photography trip across the US and needed an inverter that met my power requirements, was quite while operating, and built to last. I also needed duel electrical sockets and a USB port. This unit appeared to have it all. Several reviews were encouraging and since having most of my budget being spent on some major items for my trip, the price was right.
I have tested the product several times already and it works as expected and is even quieter than I had expected. Which is nice since driving will provide enough noise on its own, I certainly didn't want any more. If I had one issue I would have preferred that the wire from the lighter plug to the unit be a foot or two longer. But using the middle console lighter socket allows me plenty of room to hide it on the floor behind the front seats.
Now, the real test will be how it handles fairly heavy use, recharging laptop and camera batteries as well as brewing small pots of coffee for my sixty days on the road. I leave in mid may (2011) and will try to provide an update upon my return. If interested my website for the trip is
