80 AMP RELAY 12 VOLTS

I purchased this solenoid to power an electric fan conversion on my 1992 Chevy S10. The electric motor/fan was originally out of a 1993 Chevy Beretta GT and the wiring showed it needing a 30-amp fuse. I figured since this solenoid is rated at 80 amp continuous/150 max, it should do the trick. I installed the solenoid, hooking one of the small terminals to the ignition switch on the fuse block, and the other to ground. I, or course, then hooked one of the large terminals to the hot wire coming off of the alternator, and the other terminal to the positive terminal on the fan. I now have over a thousand miles on this solenoid and I'm not sure if it's even gotten warm (even sitting in the engine bay next to the battery).

Overall, this solenoid seems pretty bulletproof if doing an e-fan conversion, and I couldn't be happier about my purchase!

I used this to install a 1 speed 98 lincoln mark vIII fan on my truck.. this relay has held the duty very well so far.
