Battery Master Disconnect Isolation Switch HD Racing
but if you not going to race this one you can install with just a wrench in 3 min Top Post Battery Master Disconnect SwitchI'm using this switch to isolate the battery on an antique car, and it works as I needed it to. It handles the full battery load (starter, ignition, and accessories), and I've had absolutely no problems with it on hundreds of starts.
I'd be surprised if my starter draws more than 250 amps, so I can't confirm that this will work for one of you gearheads trying the same application with a 460ci motor or the likes.

Disappointed because my husband said the battery does not stay charged very long. Hopefully in a few weeks he will notice it being different. We would send it back but we do not have the box it came in. I am not disappointed in Amazon though, it was the product itself. Amazon is great with the quick service.Monday, March 31, 2014

its slow and methodical.. when the green light comes on the battery is truly topped off to the brim. I have a sears fast charger that does the job quicker ,but the battery gets hot and doesnt seem to go as long on the trolling motor as when i use the schumacker. I have a feeling my battery will last more years using this one.Read Best Reviews of Schumacher SS-120A-PE 12 Amp Ship 'N' Shore Battery Charger Here
I thought it was pricey but after using it for several weak batteries, I would not sell it for any amount. I reactivated a dead maintenance free battery that had not been used in over 5 years. Took 48 hours but it de-sulphated and revived at least one dead cell. Battery voltage is now 12.9 VDC and will operate the starter for a 15 hp generator engine. Battery envolved is a CP 12180 12volt 18 Amphour sealed lead acid.I also use it on my trolling motor batteries and get a superior charge.

Voltage Sensitive Relay (VSR) 12VDC for Battery Isolation - Auto/Boat/RV
There is an option to buy this same VSR with a kit, but I opted not to buy the kit because I needed higher gauge wire, and I could get it at a lower overall cost. Because of the thicker wire, I had to modify the wire inlets a little, but it was easy. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to isolate a battery.I am using this in a Ford e350 van, converted to a camper, to maintain the truck battery under the hood and maintain 2 deep cell marrine batteries in the back, which i run a fridge/micro, etc. with using a 1500 watt inverter. I was told by many old school camper guys this setup wouldn't work, but it works great! The VSR is small and lightweight, and simple to hookup and use. It has one simple LED light letting you know where it's sending voltage. Proper gauge wire is imperative, i have 6 gauge run to all batteries, with a 150 amp ANL fuse, and have had no trouble at all with this unit. I returned a much larger, heat synced Northern tool unit after i saw the difference in size. This one is great under the hood of a van or any tight space.
Word of note: I did have to trim some of the plastic away where my wires run in and out of the unit. It's 2 pieces and you have to trim away part of the cover if you're using proper gauge wire to get it to sit on the base correctly. This will make sense when you see the unit in person, and it's pretty obvious the manufacturer intended for you to cut or drill depending on your application.

For it being 2 simple voltage sensitive relays it is a little pricey at $75 bucks. But it works as advertised and does keep the batteries properly charged. The only issue I see is that till all batteries in the system drop to about 12.7 volts it does keep them connected. I have mine on a diesel pick-up. I will have to place a heavy diode in the wire somewhere or a switch of some type in the winter due to the truck really needing the 13.3 volts the start batteries have without this slight issue.

MOTHERS 05140 PowerBall Polishing Tool
I use a corded drill for doing a large vehicle. Unless your cordless has brand new batteries, they may run out. But you will save money by not having to buy a buffing tool. 2 of these babies (1 to polish, 1 to wax) and a good drill is all you will ever need. They clean up by soaking in dish soap solution for an hour or two (use enough soap). I definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants a good looking car and wants to save about $100 on equipment!
Buy MOTHERS 05140 PowerBall Polishing Tool Now
Bought the Mini PowerBall to do the aluminum wheels on my motorcycle after I tried the regular PowerBall and found it WAY too big to get into all the areas I needed to. Even the Mini was difficult to get into some areas. I wish Mother's would make a Micro or Nano version. The ball worked well with the Billet Polish to get a mirror shine in most areas. However, I would caution you to take your time and use only light to light-medium pressure on the ball because it didn't take too long before it began to tear apart on the inner folds and start thumping around on the surface, making it useless. I had to buy another in order to finish the job and it was starting to tear by the time I was done. Not very cost-effective. BTW, I have used cotton buffing wheels with the compound bars and the like in the past in order to buff various metals and had already used that method here before using the Mini PowerBall and Billet Polish for the final step in the process. So I wasn't trying to grind away at a rough, dull surface with this PowerBall, just bringing up the shine to as close to chrome as possible.

Arkon Slim-Grip Desktop Flat Surface Dashboard Travel Mount Holder for Samsung Galaxy S3 S III & Ot
Pros:
-Suction cup sticks very well to surfaces that are slighlty curved or textured
-Solid construction
-Fully adjustable/maneuverable the arm is longer than many other mounts which is great
-Fits iPhone 5 perfectly (as well as iPhone 4 and I'm sure many other phones) and holds it well
-Can mount and remove your phone with one hand
-Looks nice
Cons:
-Slight vibration when you hit bumps, although this device is still better than any other mount I have used. I think the only way to reduce this would be to have a shorter 'arm' however that is one of the features I like
-The flat surface that says Arkon on it is made from a shiny plastic would be nicer if it was a matte finish like the rest of the product. This is only visible when you do not have your phone mounted however.

Schumacher MC-1 Manual Battery Charger
-dan z- This is a pretty simple trickle charger. It doesn't provide much feedback, other than when it is on and when it is off. I don't think there should be any worry of overcharging, as it was designed to provide a constant "trickle" of power to keep a battery at top charge. I have owned and used this unit for the past year without any problems. If you want more feedback, buy a unit with gauges. If you are just looking to keep your bike (or lawnmower) starting on demand and want to save a few bucks, this unit is very good.

This is definitely a trickle charger. I had it hooked up to a completely dead battery for 2 days, and my Mazdaspeed6 started right up! Impressed with the device since it is a LOT cheaper than alternatives. Don't purchase if you have a vehicle that you need to run within a day.Want Schumacher MC-1 Manual Battery Charger Discount?
I had a minor snafu (my fault) with it being shipped to the wrong address, but Amazon was amazing about helping me get it resolved and had it out to me just one day after the expected delivery date. So as far rapport goes, top notch. As for the device itself...it's really, really basic, but it gets the job done. The clamps are smaller than those on your standard jumper cables, which is a boon in my case, because I couldn't fit normal sized cables into the tight area where my terminals are located. It charged faster than I expected and it kept my poor dying battery alive about a month until I could afford a replacement, so it was definitely worth the money in my book. Plus, it's small enough to carry under my seat if I plan to travel long distances and want it there just in case.
Unfortunately, I had to use a heavy duty extension cable with it because I have no exterior outlets, but if you can park even relatively close the cable is plenty long and sturdy to stretch across a car width or so.

Belkin Micro Charger for Apple iPhone (Black)
This unit from Belkin is a nice contrast to the bargain basement cables.
The cable is thick-even thicker than the original Apple supplied cable. As a rough guideline, it is roughly 2/3 as thick as a typical ethernet cable. That may or may not translate to better performance, but at least it feels like the thing won't fall apart in six months.
The connectors are solidly attached. They are not one-piece molded, but have a rubber-like sleeve extending about 1/4" down the cable, so there is at least some stress relief on the connector. In other words, the wires should stay attached to the connector for normal use.
The apple connector body is quite a bit larger than the metal connector, meaning it may be a tight fit for some iphone cases, although mine works just fine. The plastic case is roughly 1/4" wider than the metal part of the connector in all dimensions.
The power adapter also appears quite well made, and it USB connector on it holds the cable tight enough so that it isn't going to fall out. All the surfaces are smooth and the corners are nicely rounded.
The black finish is looks pretty cool against my black iphone/case and ipad (which lives in a black case).
I didn't measure the charging times, but I tried it on both my iPhone4 and iPad3, and it seemed to charge as quickly as I have ever seen it. This is not always the case with the cheaper cables-where charging can take 2x or 3x longer.
My iPhone synched through the cable to my PC with no issues.
The only negative is that the cable is a bit stiff, and wants to maintain its original "kinks", and puts up a little bit of a fight when you try to coil it up. Hardly worth mentioning.
Overall, I'd be happy with this product, and will probably buy additional units to scatter throughout the house. If you have something that charges from a USB and you need to charge it from a standard wall outlet is the way to go. Plugs into the a wall charger and will take any USB interface, regular or micro. I use it to keep my Iphone and Ipad topped off on when stuck in airports or waiting rooms. Works well, no headaches. This version doesn't come with a USB cord so you have to provide it.

Belkin is such a trustworth brand and this is something I needed. I am so afraid to go with a lesser known brand for fear that it would ruin my device. I highly recommend it. I also love that it's compact and easy to carry.Want Belkin Micro Charger for Apple iPhone (Black) Discount?
Extra chargers are always handy. This one is particularly handy because it has the option to be used both as a USB charger and a wall charger. The cable is sturdy and a good length. As other reviewers have pointed out, it tends to stay permanently kinked but that seems minor. It's a bit on the pricey side but not bad for a high quality, versatile charger.Monday, October 7, 2013

Whistler XTR-265 Radar/Laser Detector (Grey)
- Radar/Laser detector provides 360-degree alerts for radar and laser signals, POP mode alerts, Safety Warning System alerts
- Patented VG-2 cloaking technology makes you invisible to radar detector detectors
- Brilliant numeric icon display indicates power, city mode, radar band identification; with seven-segment signal strength meter
- 3 City Modes and Highway Mode for reducing false alerts; dim/dark mode
- One-year warranty
In an effort not to see my own contribution to the problem come at the hands of purportedly "saving my life", I purchased this Whistler 265 model about 6 months ago. I was quite taken aback by the wide range of prices on these units at first. The last time I bought one there was perhaps a $50 price difference between the economy model and a true space age unit. Now it can be as high as $400 or more. Since this 265 was a Whistler that was capable of picking up all the radar technology currently available, and cost about $45, I decided this was the one for me. All I can say from my own experience with this fine unit is I can only imagine what those higher priced models really do, for this 265 seems to perform it all quite nicely. Simply put, its the best $45 I have spent in a very long time. The 265 is easy to install on your windshield with the bracket provided, and a coil style cord plugs into your cigarette lighter, or 12 volt outlet that just about all cars provide these days. (If you prefer to install on your dash or elsewhere, a velcro strip will hold this unit easily). As far as features, the 265 seems to have all one could ask for. This Whistler provides tone alerts, quiet modes, numeric icon displays, alert priority, and even a vehicle battery saver. It also has both visual and audible alerts, and a volume control. As far as actually detecting and warning you of any radar in the area, mine has so far never missed a beat. Although I am not much of a heavy footer that needs as much advanced warning as possible, I would have to say that any warning that does come from the 265 has been in advance enough to save me from being picked up in about 80% of the cases, or more. It is especially capable in picking up stationary radar, which although a lot of advertisements for these devices claim has gone out of style in favor of rolling radar, is still well in vogue here in my neck of the woods. I have picked up signals so far in advance in some of the stationary cases that at times I felt the the detector is picking up something else. Then lo and behold, smokey appears on the side of the road. For rolling radar, the advance warning is a little more random, but still very effective in my opinion. It is omni directional and will pick up a radar signal far off the side of you as easily as it does ahead, or behind you. I love this little unit and feel it is personally the best deal in detectors that there is going on the market presently.
In conclusion, I should mention that I live in a small town. There are no real heavily congested areas, or locales where there is any real city atmosphere. So my detector doesn't really have to work that hard at distinguishing alarms and doors openers from the real McCoy. If you live in a city or any form of heavily congested area with a lot of commerce, it very well may be a good idea to move up to a higher priced, more sensitive model. Personally I feel that the only difference between the high ticket radar detectors and this model is their ability to differentiate between real speed radar, and any other device that uses the same technology. That, and perhaps a little more technology in giving you a shade more warning. For a small town atmosphere like where I live, I honestly feel that the Whistler XTR-265 is all the radar detector you should ever need. Unless you simply love to speed, or the local police seem to have a special fondness for you, why pay more. A good, solid, dependable unit. Highly recommended...

I replaced an acient Whistler that missed four different cops shooting something on the Interstate on a trip to FL. I then took another trip to FL with the XTR-265 and it showed me every cop plus is better at ignoring auto doors. I picked this unit for the reputation of Whistler from my experience and written reviews. Now that I have a unit that will show me the cops everywhere I can travel without worrying about speed traps. This unit also remembers the last settings so you don't have to change them every time you start your car. BTW: I still have my original Fuzz Buster from the 70's sitting on a shelf as a memento.Read Best Reviews of Whistler XTR-265 Radar/Laser Detector (Grey) Here
I've been using this Radar Detector since February of 2011. The reason i bought this detector is because i drive 100 miles a day to and from my workplace and it is a very highly traveled area for state and local police. What I've noticed is that this detector is spot on with K, KA and X Bands, while it seems that Airports and Cell Phone towers in some cases put out a high amount of X Band Radar, it can cause some interference with this detector. But it's manageable to clear those alerts using the quiet button. However, this detector does not register Laser Radars (LIDARS) in my area. I have watched countless Wisconsin state trooper's point their LIDAR at me with no notification from this detector that they in fact are tracking me. I can recall at least 4 times that i know of, where i saw this happen.
With that said, buy this detector for the RADAR detecting, not the Laser detecting. I thought about returning this product, but since you can't do much when your hit by a LIDAR to make it worth the trouble to return it.I bought this to use in the wife's vehicle, so I wouldn't have to switch my other detector between vehicles every time I drove hers. I also own an XTR-145, which I bought at a wholesale store, and it is fantastic. It has saved me probably thousands of dollars over the last three years. The XTR-265, though, will alert me to "Laser" several times a day, though that technology isn't currently being used where I live. I saw other comments about it not picking-up radar from police cars, and assumed that the police just didn't have their radar on, but I see what they were talking about now. During the first week of using it, I passed 9 police cars that I know for sure, had their radars active, and pointed right at me, and the XTR-265 never made a sound. I have been using it for a couple of months now, and it does alert, on occasion, but I am getting more automatic door openers than real threats. I am probably going to try to sell the XTR-265.This detector is not as sensitive as my Bel 965. But, I think it is a good unit for the price. The indicators are very easily read and it is a solid detector.
