NOCO Genius G1100 6V/12V 1.1 Amp Smart Battery Charger and Maintainer

NOCO Genius G1100 6V/12V 1.1 Amp Smart Battery Charger and MaintainerPros:

(1)Innovative and well-thought design

(2)Good build quality

(3)Light weight and portable size. Easy to store and carry around

(4)The charger can tell the health of your battery with 'Diagnostics' feature

(5)can rescue or repair 'sick/dead' battery which is deeply discharged, sulfated or damaged.

(6)Owner's Manual& User Guide is well-written and very helpful

Cons:

(1)Warranty service is not free, in fact, it is quite expensive. I think most of Genius Charger owners are not very happy about it when warranty service is needed. Hopefully, repair rate is very low.

(2)The price tag of G1100 is almost $45, a bit overpriced, but good battery maintenance and extended battery life compensate the cost.

I got my G1100 for less than a week. I got trouble when I used it to charge my battery the first time, all LEDs illuminated and were blinking once the AC power was plugged into an electrical outlet. Obviously, it was an error warning. I checked all connections and found nothing wrong. I suspected my G1100 is a bad charger. I looked into Troubleshooting in User Guide before calling NOCO Genius for help. Troubleshooting indicates that my 2 year old battery is in very bad condition as a result of sulfation or damage. COSTCO gave me a free replacement because my old battery is still within 3 years warranty. G1100 saved me $75. I installed the new battery, then charged it again. All 5 charging steps went through as smooth as expected and successfully. It took about 5 hours to complete a full charge (from 25% to 100% full charge). I will update my review when needed. So far, everything is going well with my G1100 charger.

I store my car 6 months out of the year all I can say this is a great product, easy to use and works.

This seems to be a very good charger. I am using this on my ford escape, mostly.

I drive the car to work about 2miles to work one way each day.

On this car, and the last car I had, the battery always runs down during the week, due to the lack of run time on the alternator to battery charge time for my short trips.

Since using this charger, (i connect the charger on fri when I get home from work and leave all weekend, because I don't drive it on the weekend), I have a strong start when I do use the car and start it up on Mon going back to work.

thx

Schumacher EC-4000-USB Large Emergency Glove Box Charger w/USB port

Schumacher EC-4000-USB Large Emergency Glove Box Charger w/USB portI wanted with anticipation for this product ans was let down. The charger simply doesn't work.

It's been charging over 24 hours now and the charging light stays green, it doesn't change to red as mentioned in the manual.

When I attempted to use it, thinking the battery was fully charged ( Maybe it came completely charged that's why it was green all the time), it's actually the opposite, the battery is completely drained.

I bought this for my wife's car so that in the event she was stranded she could give herself a jumpstart from within the car. The charger is plugged into your cigarette lighter, and from there, is supposed to give you enough charge to restart the engine. And it is supposed to fit neatly inside your glove compartment when not in use.

"Supposed to" left us stranded on an out-of-town trip, on Labor Day no less. Although I was careful to take the little monster (and you CAN fit this brick into your glove compartment, but you will have no room for anything else in there once you do) out and regularly recharge it, it wouldn't gives us a jump. It didn't even give us so much as a cough. So, two hours later, with the car battery quickly and easily recharged by the tow truck operator, not only were we able to drive it home, but it also started the next morning, when we drove it to the mechanic's, where it received a rebuilt alternator AND a new battery (just in case).

For us, this charger only worked well when we used it as a paperweight to keep the maps and documents in the back seat (which would no longer fit in the glove compartment; see above) from flying away.

Can't recommend this item at all. Get one of the bigger ones and stow it in the trunk.

I bought it to use as a starting aid for my 550 grizzle ATV since it does not come with a pull start if the battery goes dead... I charged it up and put in in my ATV box and left if for 6months... We were out camping and had my 2010 Ram truck with after market radio( 4ch amp and (4)6x9 speakers blasting all night till the battery was bout dead and truck wouldn't start.. plugged it in, waited the 10minutes and it started right up...

It surely works and i was surprised... Heck yeah buy one, they are cheap and its definately cheaper then a tow truck if you dont have cables and a jump source...

BaoFeng *UV-5R Plus* UV 5R+ Dual-Band 136-174/400-480 MHz FM Ham Two-way Radio, Improved Stronger C

BaoFeng *UV-5R Plus* UV 5R+ Dual-Band 136-174/400-480 MHz FM Ham Two-way Radio, Improved Stronger Case, More Rich and Enhanced FeaturesReview of the Baofeng UV-5R Plus (2013 edition)

I purchased this radio sold by Sain Store, serviced by Amazon in October 2013 with Prime free shipping. The radio arrived 3 days later, however the unit shipped was the European Version with the incorrect power supply and lacking the FCC type label. I contacted Sain Store and was issued an RMA and shipping address and they replaced the radio with a US version with the proper labeling and power supply.

The Radios I received both had firmware version 281. Some units are also being shipped with version 291. Users should make note of which firmware they receive because the software version you use to program the radio is dependent on the firmware you receive. There does not seem to be any user functional differences between 281 and 291.

Impressions of the UV-5R Plus. This radio is nicely small yet not to small to operate. Like many of its Chinese contemporaries, it can be a bit quirky to program via the keypad but easy to do so with the software. Understand that easy keyboard programability is not nominally supposed to be a Part 90 compliant radio. Even so you can program frequencies, splits, Tones and DPL from the keyboard with some patience, but not channel names.

Pro's of the UV-5R Plus:

Extremely Affordable, including accessories like spare batteries.

Uses standard accessories including programming cable, mics, and antennas (with other Chinese radios such as Wouxon).

Radio has voice assist operation of many functions.

LED light is very handy.

Three color LCD backlight is useful (standby, Xmit and Receive can have colors assigned).

Small enough including antenna to fit in a pants pocket.

Sturdy construction.

Legal to use on both Ham and LMS (part 90) bands if you are licensed as a user.

VFO limits can be set to ham bands (or restricted to other bands)

Very wide frequency coverage as well as 2013 narrowband operation capability.

Can monitor FRS, GMRS, MURS, (transmit capable, but not legal lacking FCC part 95 type acceptance).

Can listen to Broadcast FM

Cons of the UV-5R Plus:

Manual could be a lot better

Not a true dual receive unit (its dual watch).

Scanning is slow, and you can't select/deselect channels to be scanned from the keyboard.

No copy memory channel to VFO function.

No PTT lock out function from Keyboard (or software).

No single channel display (would be ideal if it had a single channel mode that showed frequency and name and memory channel)

Carrier Squelch Level is not adjustable (its on or off, levels 1 through 10 are all the same).

No simple keyboard and VFO lockout insuring Mem Channel only operation (nominally a Part 90 requirement).

No AM Aircraft band receive (many won't care).

Would be even more usable by visually impaired if menu selections had voice prompts.

Overall impressions. The value for the money is outstanding. These cost under $60 delivered, for a versatile sturdy product with a good capacity LiIon Battery. The ability to cover HAM and LMS makes them ideal for Emergency, and Community Service organizations. While there are many things to nit pick at (see cons:) the usability of this radio especially when programmed with the freely available software (as well as third party software) and very affordable USB cable (about 10 bucks), is very good. Its lacks all the bells and whistles of a $ 400 dollar dedicated Japanese Ham radio, but it costs 1/8th as much and has part 90 certification for legal operation on Govt. and business bands.

These radios have received pretty good reviews on the 'net. I bought one, then another for the sweetheart. Look and feel good. Seem to function well. As said on some site somewhere, It's basically a $200 radio subsidized by the Chinese gov't to sell for $58 to ruin the Japanese industry. If you're thinking of buying by all means go to the Yahoo groups Baofeng UV-5r placelots of good info, especially on programming the lil bugger. I received my first one overnite from Amazon, the second one took 3 daysto Hawaii! Sheesh. We're living in a dream worldenjoy it while you can! 73

I am a licensed ham radio operator, and one that is always looking for an inexpensive way to enjoy my hobby. One day a ham friend of mine told me about these Baofeng hand held transceiver (H/T) radios and said they were selling for under $50. Knowing what advances have been made in the technology of software-defined radios, I knew something like this was an intriguing possibility.

My friend let me borrow one of his Baofeng UV-5R radios for a couple of weeks. I was really impressed with what this radio can do. For its price, it is one of the best deals ever in the history of ham radio!

I chose to buy a slightly updated version of this radio, the UV-5RA, which is also apparently known as the UV-5R+. Cosmetically, the UV-5RA has a much more solid case, with some interesting trim features. The display has slightly different, generally warmer colors than the UV-5R. In all other respects, the radios are pretty much the same.

To me, the most important thing about any kind of radio transceiver is RF performance, both transmit and receive. Although I haven't done any measurements, the radios RF performance is satisfactory for general purpose use. The front end of the radio is understandably not as good as the 'name brand' radios costing five times as much, but it definitely holds its own with them. Receive sensitivity is as good as typical name-brand radios. Off-channel rejection is not quite as good. But for general use with repeaters, the tone squelch feature makes up for this. One 'feature' you may or may not like is the display lights up every time the radio unsquelches, even if it is still tone squelched. I haven't played with the squelch settings that much to see if this can be improved. The display light can be disabled if desired. There is plenty of receive audio, something often lacking in inexpensive radios.

I haven't transmitted too much with this radio, as I live in an area that is very hard to 'get out of' even with higher power. But the radio works fine for the repeaters I can hit. One criticism this radio has received is poor audio quality on transmit. I have not experienced this problem. (Having a rich, heavy 'radio' voice probably helps in this regard.)

One rather quirky feature of this radio is that the antenna connection is an SMA male. Although SMA adapters are not hard to find, this is (in my experience) opposite of all other radios on the market that use an SMA antenna connection. This will also limit the possible choices for an aftermarket antenna, something many hams add to their H/T radios.

This radio has all the basic features that most hams need. It can do all the common analog and digital tone squelch functions on transmit and receive. It can monitor two channels at once, on any combination of VHF and UHF. The display can show either the frequency or a name for a channel. And the radio can apparently hold over 100 channels of memory, although I have only loaded about 25 memories. For manual tuning, the frequency can be entered directly at the keyboard, although all other parameters (offset, tone squelch, etc.) have to be manually entered in a menu system. There are some scanning features, etc. in the radio, but these are not nearly as extensive as on the more expensive radios. For me, this is not a problem, as I rarely use these kinds of features to begin with.

The major criticism these radios have received is that are hard to program. They really aren't all that hard to program, although there are a lot of steps to go through for each channel. But because most hams do not frequently reprogram their radios, this should not be a big deal. The programming cable and software are highly recommended, and make it easy to 'clone' these radios. (If you are like me, you will want more than one of these radios, anyway!) On the other hand, because these radios are so programmable, handling things like odd repeater splits, etc. is very easy. The radio does not know the 'band plan', so you will need to know the expected split on a repeater system while programming.

These radios are also part 90 certified, so they can be used on commercial and public service frequencies. Although I have not tried to do this yet, I am occasionally in situations where having a part 90 radio that can transmit (and is easily reprogrammed without software) comes in handy. These radios can also do the new narrowband FM modulation that is now required on many commercial/public service radio systems in the US.

Battery performance is simply amazing. This is certainly one of the most surprising features. I can listen for days on a single charge, even with some occasional transmission. The battery pack is removable and swappable, so it is easy to carry a spare, if you transmit a lot. DC adaptors are available for situations where you may wish to power the radio from a power supply or car power.

There are a couple of very nice extra features, that make this a hard-to-not-like radio. One is a built-in FM receiver. Besides being able to use the UV-5R/RA as a 'transistor radio', the ability to listen to FM broadcast is useful during emergency communications. The other handy feature is a built-in high brightness LED that is intended to be used as a flashlight. Although not focused, this light is very useful and easy to use.

The bottom line? If you are a very active ham who uses their H/T a lot, needs extensive scanning features, or needs state-of-the-art RF front end performance, then one of the name brand units will probably be a better choice. But if you are less active, or want backup radio(s), or something just to monitor a local repeater, these little radios can't be beat. I have two already, and will likely buy a couple more!

You will NOT find a comparable dual band radio within this price range! Heck, you probably won't find as great a radio for double it's price!

Just with everything that came in this package, I am able to hit a 2 meter repeater about 15 miles away from my home. I live in Florida, everything's sea-level. I have no idea what the max range of this is, as I've only been playing with it for about 3 days. But, to transmit and receive clearly at a 15 mile range for under $60....I am simply amazed!

Also, the radio is solidly built. It does not feel cheap at all. The LED flashlight is pretty bright and also has a strobe mode. The FM receiver works fine for me. When I'm bored, I listen to the FM radio at work and it always mutes the radio in time for me to hear 100% of the incoming 2-way traffic.

I use mine with my speaker/mic: Wouxun Walkie Talkie Remote Speaker Microphone

I also use this data cable, which I did have to "trim" some of the housing away to fit all the way into my radio: USB Programming Cable for BAOFENG UV-5R UV-3R+ Two way Radio With Driver CD

Want BaoFeng *UV-5R Plus* UV 5R+ Dual-Band 136-174/400-480 MHz FM Ham Two-way Radio, Improved Stronger C Discount?

I am sure that once the secret gets out how good these radios are the price will go up. I compare this to my Yaesu VX5 which is a $500 radio. I run security in a hospital, and I have started replacing all my $1200 Motorolas which everyone hates to carry, I use those at fixed base stations. These are lightweight, very durable. a breeze to program. BUY THE PROGRAMMING CABLE.

If you do not need the keyboard, you may also want to look at the cheaper version. But since I have to have the latest toy, I bought this. I also purchased the Boefeng, BF 888's for my maintenance staff. They have no bells and whistles, but do exactly what I need and are dirt cheap. I did have a software conflict when programming the 888's so I recommend using a seperate computer for the 5R and the 888. Once I downloaded the software, it took about 20 seconds to program and clone other radios !! AWESOME.

Schumacher SE-8050 Manual Charger With Tester

Schumacher SE-8050 Manual Charger With Testergreat product. mine got banged up bad. i blame shipping. gonna suck it up. dont want to return a 50 lb product.

If I could do it all over again I would have not bought this battery charger. I mainly bought it for the high amperage boost application to start vehicles with weak or dead batteries. What I found is that the machine cranks up the voltage on the 300 amperage settings to alarming levels. I noticed this when my Mid 70's Pontiac Volt gauge got pinned during a boosted start. Turns out 30amp and 60 amp is enough for most starts anyway and the voltage is not crazy at these levels. I also wish I would have bought a automatic charger instead of having to baby sit this thing. It asks for using a hydrometer for calculating charge times(good luck with a sealed battery). I ended up buying a cheapo automatic Menards charger to compliment this charger. The battery load test/charge test seems to work ok. Only two stars from me. Please rate this review if it was helpful.

I bought this battery charger mainly to take with me on camping and RV trips. I have A 6.0 Ltr. diesel that I use as a towing vehicle. and I thought with this 300 amp boost I could jump start my pickup if ever I needed to. And yes while out on a trip, my pickup wouldn't stat one very cold morning. ( Low Batteries )I hooked up the charger to my batteries, pluged into the campground current, put it on boost and she started right up. I keep it in my RV now.

It' came out of the box damaged because it so heavy the bottom has a bulge in it. The end caps for the wheels were missing and had to go to home depot for the parts. Once assembled, it looks fine. I've not had the chance to use it yet so I just hope it works. I just hope the company will stand behind the product if it fails to charge or operate as intended. They need to find a better packaging system to protect their product for transport.

Sunforce 45444 600W Wind Turbine

Sunforce 45444 600W Wind TurbineI purchased this windmill to augment a solar panel I use to charge a 12 volt battery bank. I have a solar powered well system for watering cattle, and the solar was not keeping up during times of low light. I intend for this unit to be an augment to my current system, not the only source of electrical current. I purchased this unit because it was 200 more watts output than the most popular sun force mill, but I was sort of disappointed that it is not made in USA like the 400 watt model. It is made in Taiwan. I guess this is ok, as Taiwan is an ally of the USA, so at least it was not made in PRC.

The package arrived quickly, and everything was in order and exactly as described. I assembled the unit in just under 30 minutes. There was an extra set of screws, nuts, and bolts included, and this could be handy for fumble fingers like myself. The fasteners are of good quality, and they were all present and accounted for. I did not have to use any of the extras (yet). Also included is a electro brake switch which I am not planning on using.

I first tried to mount the mill on a 21 foot piece of chain link fence top-rail, but it buckled over in the middle. I opted for a heavy piece of tubing from the chain link fence wholesaler, and it works great. I used #10 SOJ cable for my electrical connections. The mill started turning even before I had it hoisted all the way up, and it makes a pleasant enough sound as it turns. There is some small noticeable vibrations that may be due to a small imbalance in the rotor blades or something, but nothing that seems detrimental to the mill.

I made all the electrical connections without any trouble. The charge controller seems to be a fairly substantial unit, but could have been labeled on the back a little more clearly about which color wire goes to which screw, but the instruction manual cleared this up and there were no problems. The controller has a switch on the front that brakes the rotors to keep them from turning. I have not tested this in a stiff wind, but it stops the rotors in 8-10 MPH winds. Also included is a 30 amp panel meter to plumb into the electrical system in case you want to monitor current flow going to your battery bank.

The mill turns pretty much most of the time, although the charge light on the controller will only illuminate when there is a fairly good gust of sustained wind. This intermittent charging will work fine for me as this is supplemental to my solar panel, and I expect to get the most charging on cloudy days and windy seasons when the sun doesn't tend to shine so much. The unit is located in North East Oklahoma. I can readily see that another 21 ft of tower length would increase the output due to more undisturbed winds, but for now this is working pretty good, and I didn't have to use guy wires as the pole is attached to the side of the well house.

I am satisfied with this unit.

***** The Caveat ******

After reading so many negative reviews on this same product, I feel I must amend my review so that I am disclosing everything. Now pay attention: This unit requires wind to work! That's right, I know this is surprising, but this baby doesn't do a thing without wind! And even when it is working at max speed and full power, it will not replace your utility company, your neighbors will not be buying power off of your grid, and you will not be getting a fat rebate check from the grid. They won't be shutting down 3-mile island just because you have a wind turbine in the back yard. Hope this helps alleviate all the disappointed folks looking to start selling wind power and offering free rides to the moon.

The "Product Features" summary incorrectly states that it starts to "operate" at 4 mph, implying it's producing power. If you read the manual, there is a diagram that shows the turbine starts producing at 4 m/s that's 4 meters per second, or about 9 mph, and then the power production is small. It does not produce 600W until you get up to about 30mph. That's a **lot** of wind!

Buy Sunforce 45444 600W Wind Turbine Now

I bought this from Fry's electronics years ago. i installed this after a lot of effort. it really is hard to get something that high and stable at the same time. I suggest that you set up the pole first before you buy the turbine. Finally, after many tech support emails later, i could only get a trickle of a charge. After everything looked good, Sunforce said that i did not have enough wind! I found that was not true, because I tested it blowing as fast as possible, and I still get the same trickle charge. i'm just too tired of spending more time and effort on this turbine. It is now way past the return period, and it would be hard to prove that their product is defective in small claims since i'm not an engineer. I don't buy any sunforce products now. Neither should you. Also, i suggest that you try to turn the turbine with a drill first to see if you get a charge before installing. I should have done this first myself.

"OK, I'll take your bait and do the math.

The stated rotor diameter was 2 ft (2/3.28ft/m = 0.61 m or 0.3048 m radius) and the stated power was 600 watts. We'll assume air density to be 1.25 kg/m^3, and the coefficient of performance = 0.4. The Betz Limit of coefficient of performance is 59.3% and is the theoretical maximum Cp.

The basic equation is

P = rho/2 * area in m^2 * (velocity in m/s)^3 * Cp

The area is pi *r^2 = pi * 0.3048^2= 0.2919 m^2. (For reference, 1ft radius^2 * pi = 3.14 ft^2.)

Rearranging the equation, the velocity through the rotor must be

cube root of (P / (rho/2 * A * Cp))

Cube root (600/(0.625 * 0.2919 *0.40))

= Cube root (8222) = 20.18 m/s (1 m/s = 2.24 mph)

Regressing to the English mph, that's a windy 45.14 miles per hour.

Did I do that calculation right? Think I did. However, in such a small aperture, flow throttling likely would occur slowing the wind speed from that outside the turbine influence. The conclusion is that the 600 watts is a maximum rated power value. If the speed is cut in half, the power is one-eighth. So 22.5 mph yields 75 W, 11.25 mph yields 9 W, so this turbine is good for trickle charging a battery (just like a small solar module.)"

Want Sunforce 45444 600W Wind Turbine Discount?

This wind turbine will make good yard art and a good plaything, but if you really want energy output you need a real wind turbine, and you need to put it up high in the sky where the speedier and non-turbulent wind is.

And as long as you are going to the significant expense of putting up a decent-sized tower, you might as well purchase a heavy-duty turbine that has enough output to pay for itself.

Oh yes, and none of this is worthwhile unless you have a good wind resource, and that can only be determined by measurement and/or careful and pro-level observation.

GOgroove FlexSMART 4i Car Mount System Hi-Fi FM Transmitter and Charger for Apple iPhone 4S , 4 , 3

  • QUALITY GUARANTEED - All GOgroove Audio Products are backed by Accessory Power's Industry-Leading 3 YEAR Warranty

Overall, two thumbs up. I typically don't write product reviews, but I looked around and tried a number of methods and devices to do what I describe in the following, and after much time and mistrials, the only product I found that does it all is the GoGroove FlexSmart.

I wanted the product to do three things: (a) First, I wanted a car charger for my iPhone 4. The FlexSmart does that just fine, and the price of the item is about the same as an Apple car charger. (b)I wanted a iPhone holder for the car; it's OK for that. A little bit wobbly, but I feel safe mounting my device to it. Its gooseneck neck isn't too long, which probably adds to the stability, but it also makes it somewhat crowded around my car's dashboard controls (e.g., heater knobs). I can live with that. (c) I wanted an FM tuner base. I tried the only FM tuner presently suggested by Apple for iPhone 4, the Belkin, which contrary to what Apple states, did not work with my iPhone 4. The GoGroove tunes my iPhone 4 just fine.

A couple of minuses: (1) the materials the GoGroove are made from aren't top notch. It's worth the $40 I paid, but not much more than that. (2) I have to take my iPhone out of its bumper to properly seat with the GoGroove. The same was true with the Belkin tuner, so that's probably a problem with Apple's bumper.

My previous FM transmitter/charger for the iPhone 4 was the NEEWER FM Transmitter, which I do NOT recommend. I purchased two of these over a one year period because the 12V adapter stopped working in the first one. The second one worked for a time, but after a few months, the charger began blowing the fuse for my radio/cigarette lighter. I went through ten fuses before I finally decided to buy the Flexsmart 4i.

--Hardware--

When I received the product, I was very impressed with the packaging and detailed instructions a good hint as to the quality of the product. Installation was a snap. I have a '96 Honda Accord, where the cigarette lighter is located near the bottom of the dash panel and to the right of the shifter. I had no problems inserting the adapter into the cigarette lighter, a common issue I've seen in other reviews. The gooseneck mount made it easy to keep it out of the way, plus you can orient it in landscape for GPS navigation. The ability to adjust the side-grips allowed me to keep my inCase plastic case on as well as keep it securely in place. I live on a mountain, so I drive on lots of windy, bumpy roads and never once had it slip. It's also very convenient (and safe!) to have my iPhone at arm's reach. Releasing the side-grips to remove the device was also very simple and quick.

--Features--

The four preset buttons are very useful for quickly changing stations. Selecting one instantly jumped to it with no skip. I haven't tested the autoscan feature though. Music came through very clearly on my selected channel with very little static, which is excellent considering there are several radio towers and lots of interference on the mountain. Bass reproduction was no problem for me either. The feature I was most impressed with was how quickly it charged. The Neewer FM transmitter was barely capable of charging the device faster than the battery was being drained. With the Flexsmart, my battery charged from 89% to 100% after only 20 minutes, even with music, GPS, and 3G/Edge/WiFi enabled.

My only complaint with this product is that the LCD readout for frequency is very difficult to see even in moderate sunlight (I don't have any tint on my windows). However, the preset feature partially solves this as I already know the four stations that have the clearest sound in the areas I commonly travel. Overall, this is an excellent product and I highly recommend it to anybody with an iDevice.

I bought this mount in preparation for a vacation that was going to involve a lot of driving. I use my phone in conjunction with the free MapQuest app as a GPS unit, and I learned the hard way that I really need some kind of mount for it. My old mount cost about $20, and uses a suction cup system to adhere to the dash, with sticky gel to "hold" the cell phone in place. After about six months of rattling around in my pickup, the suction cup doesn't hold any more, and the sticky is long gone from the gel pads. I had no confidence that it would hold my expensive iPhone 4 safely.

One of the other problems I had with my original mount was with the cords. I had a power adapter plugged in to keep the device charged, and was using an audio cable to connect the phone's headphone jack to the Aux in on the car stereo in order to listen to MP3s, and to hear my GPS program's friendly computer voice through the car stereo. I found that the cords were always getting in the way, and one or both of them would frequently get bumped and unplugged, causing distraction while driving. So I decided that since I was going to buy a new mount anyway, I might as well see if I could combine at least one of these features with the mount system.

The GOgroove FlexSMART mount works very well for my needs. The arm is strong, and holds the phone securely in place, and the padded clamping system makes me much more comfortable about the safety of my phone in all but the most dire of scenarios. I was dubious of the FM Transmitter at first, having tried a cheap one in the past, with which I was completely dissatisfied. I am happy to report that this one works very well. On long trips, I do have to occasionally switch frequencies, but overall that has not been a big deal. Shopping around for a new frequency once every 200+ miles really was not much of an inconvenience. The price-point on this unit was a little higher than I expected, but I have been very satisfied with the product, so I can't complain.

I did experience the issue reported by some of the other reviewers of this product, wherein the iPhone 4 displays an error message stating that the add-on is not compatible with the phone. However, I discovered that the error seems to only appear when the "bumper" case is on my phone. Apparently, it puts a bind on the docking port (probably not a good thing) causing a mis-alignment which makes the phone "think" that you are attempting to connect an incompatible third-party product. Luckily for me, my bumper case is a two-piece design, with the bottom third easily removable for docking the phone with something like an iHome station, and as long as I remember to remove the bottom piece before sliding the phone into the GOgroove, everything works perfectly. So if you happen to experience this issue with an iPhone 4, try removing the bumper from your phone before you return the item.

Another nice unsung feature of this mount is the ability to switch off the charger, so that you can safely leave it plugged into your dashboard power accessory outlet when not in use.

Overall, I am very happy with this device. I highly recommend this mount.

Although this item worked great with my Android phone using the optional headphone jack cord, it was a nightmare for my Iphone 4. First, I got a warning that the Gogroove was not compatible with the Iphone as soon as it was directly mounted. For some reason, despite the warning it still lets you open up and play your music files. After a while though the iphone began to get really hot and another warning that I've never seen before appeared stating that the iphone was overheating. After just 2 weeks of use with iphone 4, the Gogroove completely overheated the iphone and blew a circuit in my car, shorting out the radio and my cigarette lighter. Fortunately, the iphone was fine, it just shut itself off to cool down.

I had to replace the fuse which I was not happy about. And I called Gogroove's customer service and they told me the 3-yr warranty they keep praising on their product description wouldn't cover a refund, only a replacement device which I'd lost all faith in. They just referred me to Amazon to see about a refund. Amazon of course has wonderful customer service and gave me a refund no problem. Bottom line-this device very well may short out a circuit if you attempt to connect it to an iphone 4.

I read reviews that the plug gets stuck in the cigarette lighter it is true. I read reviews that it would stop working after a week or two it is true. Finally, I read reviews that the flexible arm is too loose it is true. A waste of money.

3000 lb Electric Power Tongue Jack RV Trailer Camper

3000 lb Electric Power Tongue Jack RV Trailer CamperI inspected this jack and I am convinced that this is the same one that Campers World sells. Why is it that "camper stores" mark these products up so high and then at the end of the season when your camper is stored they give you "special" deal that still doesn't compare to the price that non-camper stores sell them for all year? Other reviewers complained about water in the gears and failure after a few years? So they must live East of the Mississippi river where it rains all the time. If you live there, (I do now) you know that everything will rust. So put a cap on it, I mean the jack. When you store the camper put a cover, a plastic coffee can will work, over the top of the jack and check the lubrication when you open the camper in the spring. So every spring when you scrape and repaint your camper frame and try and clean the mold from the top and sides of the camper, check the jack and it will last as long as the camper.

Excellent product, quick and easy to install. The jack works perfectly on my 26ft toy hauler. Just flip the switch and in just a few seconds the trailer is off the truck, and just a few more seconds and it's down level. I recieved the jack in just a few days after ordering it! Great company to do business with!

We all like to shop for true bargains during times of economic hardship such as has evolved in 2010. It is thus, a true blessing for us, to find a product that is exactly as advertised and performs perfectly; for less than half the $ price of the nearest competitor. The PJ3000 is such a product and I'm proud to recommend it to anyone needing a power trailer tongue jack!

I bought this because I have back problems. My trailer has a 800 pound tongue weight and I wanted help getting it disconnected from the truck. If the trailer ball hangs any on the hitch it will stop the motor. Once disconnected from the truck ball it strains to raise it up to level. This would be fine for a trailer tongue of 300 to 400 pounds, but any more puts a very great strain on jack motor. I ran the jack with electric connected to make sure batterys had full power. I do not think there is any way this jack would lift 2000 pounds much less the 3000 pounds that it is listed at. Spend your money on something that will works.

The jack I purchased only worked intermittently. As another reviewer mentioned, the electrical contacts were the problem. I had to take it all apart and re-solder all of the connections. One other suggestion: The grease this thing shipped with was very thick and sticky, more like chewing gum than grease. I scraped it out and replaced it with wheel bearing grease. Now it runs much quieter, smoother, and a bit faster. If you're not handy or don't like getting your hands dirty, I'd pass on this one. I would have returned it but I purchased it in the US and brought it back to Canada; too much hassle.

RoadPro RPBH-012 12V Beverage Heater

RoadPro RPBH-012 12V Beverage HeaterHot water in my flask doesn't stay hot enough for a whole day out, and this is a good way to bring my tea or coffee up to temperature. I haven't tried heating water from cold it is always at least warm when I start. It takes several minutes and the wait can be a bit tedious, but it does a good job. The clip which is supposed to hold the heater onto the side of the mug doesn't (it flops about), so I have to hold it to keep it properly immersed. It cools off quickly and is reasonably easy to clean with a small brush.

This is a good product. I use it in a stainless coffee mug in the car. Sometimes the cigarette lighter plug on the Road Pro will melt if you leave it on too long. Radio shack part number 270-1521 is a much more robust plug. I just crunch the old plug up and cut the metal tabs with the wires soldered to them from the original plug and put them in the holes in the Radio Shack heavy duty plug and it is fixed and lasts forever. I leave the LED connected and it indicates when it is plugged in.

Great gadget. Much better than the plug in mugs that fail quickly.

I purchased this item as a gift for my son. He is an over the road truck driver and I thought this would be nice so he could make coffee of a morning. He used it twice and it burned out. It may be that it was just a defective product, but on the other hand at a cost of about $12, it is not worth taking the chance. I would have returned the product, but it may be months before I see him again, and he had already discarded the packaging. My loss could be your gain. Don't buy!

I bought this item to heat water so that I could keep hot coffee during a 5-day cross-country road trip. (Without having to pull over to purchase it...) The product specifications indicates that the so-called "metal" clip would attach neatly to most "CERAMIC" coffee cups. Firstly, the "metal clip" is NOT METAL but some type of hard plastic. I chose a ceramic cup with the narrowest rim to be sure it would accomodate the space allowed for the clip to engage. However, as soon as I placed the clip on the rim of the my cup, the clip snapped off! (With little or NO pressure!!)

I just finished the trip on Saturday Sept. 4th and any hot coffee during my trip was purchased from various vendors enroute so I wasted $16.98 on the item and shipping cost. WHAT A PIECE OF CRAP!

Although the other reviews were not promising I gave it a chance. Wrong! The heater was in pieces on arrival, the tip was unscrewed. I put it back together, used it once and the tip melted. I had used the 110v units years ago and although they didn't last very long, I decided to give this a chance, as I work from a vehicle. Don't waste your time or money.

Pulse Tech Xtreme Charge Quick Battery Tester 100X822

Convenient Battery tester for a quick check of your car battery. With the engine off, connect the charger with the red electrode to the + terminal and the black electrode to the terminal. It gives a good indication of the reserve amount of your battery. Most of the time is shows 75% (or more); this is an indicator that the battery is in good shape. If it is 50%, it could indicate that the battery is starting to experience problems. A 50% reading can be misleading, as a battery at 70% can also give this reading. Also, AGM batteries have given me lower readings than the true capacity of the battery. If it is at 25%, one should get the battery checked or check the charging system.

With the engine on, it will test the alternator with either a red or green light on the top.

There are two issues I have. The first one is the cord for the black(-) electrode is very short. For conventional batteries, it works well. Some batteries are in the trunk and have connectors separated by long distances, and an additional extension (like alligator clip wires) is needed.

The second issue is the indicators shows only 100,75,50,25%. It needs more levels. A battery at 97% and one at 76% will result in only the 75% light being lit. A battery at 70% may only trip the 50% light. So, take several measurements.

Overall, it is worth having for a quick test of the battery and alternator.

I bought this pocket tester for my Honda CB 750 Nighthawk which I ride almost every day. I also purchased the Pulse Tech MBT-1 and the E-Z Red compact battery hydrometer. All three gave me the same results of 100% on the battery in service and 75% on the spare. This is the cheapest insurance policy money can buy.

Battery Tender 081-0069-2 Alligator Clips with White 2-Pin Quick Disconnect Plug

Battery Tender 081-0069-2 Alligator Clips with White 2-Pin Quick Disconnect PlugThe quick connect works well but the clips don't open wide enough to go over the battery clamps. They'll open wide enuff for the battery terminals, but not if you're all connected to the vehicle. With some jimming, they'll hang on. You can add a side terminal to the battery terminals but that adds to the overall cost of the set-up.

Also, make sure your quick connect ends are the right ones. There are two types, black ends or white ends. Match the color for proper fit.

Husky Liners Custom Fit Second Seat Floor Liner for Select Acura MDX Models (Grey)

Husky Liners Custom Fit Second Seat Floor Liner for Select Acura MDX ModelsI just bought the complete set of Husky floor liner mats (front, passenger, and cargo area) for my 2007 Honda Pilot. They are not bad but for the price I thought that they would be a little better quality. These mats are made out of a semi-rigid plastic NOT rubber and although they seem durable the plastic seems thin and flimsy compared to the premium rubber floormats I've bought in the past. They arrived promptly but the mats were rolled up in their flat boxes and since they are made of platic they developed crease marks and were slightly deformed when removed from the box. This also caused them to not lay flat when I put them in the car. The good thing is that these mats are custom made to fit your vehicle without the need to trim or shape them. Overall I am happy with the purchase but if given the chance again I would purchase rubber liners from WeatherTech instead of the plastic liners from Husky.
