We have used the RX-7 and just love the it. It works very well, the alarm sound is plenty loud enough to scare an intruder or wake you up from your sleep. I love it especially because you can carry it with you and use it in motel rooms as you travel. You will sleep much better knowing you will hear the alarm if anyone opens, breaks, etc your windows or door. It is also great to use if you have small children and they like to unlock doors or open windows while they should be asleep.

I wanted a portable alarm that was very loud and not easily silenced. This one didn't meet my requirements, so I returned it. The on/off switch is on the side, which makes it easy to immediately turn the alarm off. The alarm is not loud. The alarm horn opening is on the bottom side of the unit, so it can easily be muffled by placing it against something soft such as a pillow.
