  • Real time and Continuous recording. Audio Recording. GPS automatic Time setting. Backup battery support.
  • Auto storing GPS information. Build in 3 axis G-sensor to store car acceleration information. Clear View day and night.
  • RDV-1000 is a digital video recorder installed in car windshield to record video, audio data related to vehicle impact or accidents while driving.
  • Product features a full-color LCD, wide-angle camera, built-in GPS and a 3-axis G sensor.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my RDV-1000. I have mine recording whenever I'm moving. I've been using VLC to watch the videos on my mac and my windows 7 computers with no problem. The unit's display comes set to Cantonese by default. It takes a little effort to set the preferences to US English. The RDV-1000 creates an .INI file on the SDHC card. (not included) Here is a copy of the settings file after I set my unit for US English and Central Time Zone.

One concern that I had is that the mini-usb connector on the camera is not usb. The manufactor is using it for 12 volts to power the camera. This might be a problem is the included cable where to be plugged into an other device. I think the USB specification is for 5 volts. 12 volts would be to much.

Rockford Fosgate RFT1 1/0 AWG Set Screw Ring Terminal Pair

Rockford Fosgate RFT1 1/0 AWG Set Screw Ring Terminal Pair
  • Platinum plated
  • Set screw termination
  • Positive and negative indicators
  • Low profile design for ease of installation
  • Includes pair in each package

These do what they are supposed to do, but the price is a bit steep for what i would consider them being worth. Its a screw and a ring... not worth 10 dollars a piece unless you need them for visual appearence.

Buy Rockford Fosgate RFT1 1/0 AWG Set Screw Ring Terminal Pair Now

These are a lot heavier than I expected and are excellent quality but the tongue is a lot thicker than I expected and made it harder to connect to the battery than I wanted. I am not sure how well the set screw will hold over time and it is hard to get the oxygen free cable in them because the cable and the lug hole are the same size.

Red Battery Cable Firewall Feed-Thru Panel Terminal Connector

Red Battery Cable Firewall Feed-Thru Panel Terminal ConnectorI had to move the battery from the front of the car to the trunk due to changing engine. Item worked great, was exactly as described, and arrived in a timely manner.

These appear to be quality units. They allow a convenient method of passing heavy cables through the firewall, or any panel. The one issue I have is the lack of availability of a properly shaped panel punch. I have cut the flat sided mounting holes the old fashioned way with hand tools which is time intensive and only approximate in shape. I have yet to locate the right punch for this job.

All in all, these provide a good way to pass heavy electrical (battery) cables through the firewall, or any panel. I would purchase again.

Power Bright ML1500-24 1500 Watt 24 Volt DC To 110 Volt AC Power Inverter

Power Bright ML1500-24 1500 Watt 24 Volt DC To 110 Volt AC Power InverterI've gone through three of these (via returns and warranty repair) and none of them has lasted for long. The first one operated perfectly for a few months, then suddenly it began to emit white smoke, the smell of burning plastic, and failed completely. There was no change to the load on the device, it simply failed. The replacement operated properly for a few days, then it began buzzing loudly. I suspect that the power it was putting out was not correct because some devices operated on the power it produced and others wouldn't. If it was put under any heavy load (200 watts) it would beep and show a red indicator light. The replacement for that unit showed an incorrect voltage on the display from the moment it was attached -showed 30.2 volts when the batteries were actually at 25.6 volts. It worked anyway for a few days then it's indicator light turned red, it beeped, and failed to operate.

Sadly a large number of these devices are defective in manufacturing or there's some fundamental design issue. Avoid these defective inverters. They are nothing but trouble.

shipping was great but that was all. I ordered to be back up inverter for a 13 foot refrigerator when I finally need it I hooked it up and worked nicely for seven days and then it went dead. The inverter light goes on to green but no power is delivered. I tried different things with this inverter and it will not work at all. Justj seven days of service is just awfull dont waste your money .

This inverter is really a wise choice for those who need backup power. With 300 watts of solar power and 300 amp hour battery bank, this inverter works great. It runs quite and the digital display is really handy for monitoring the battery voltage. I would recommend it.

The unit does work and seems built pretty well but when I turn the unit on it makes a constant buzzing noise. My main gripe with this unit is,you cannot properly use a LCD tv with it. When you plug in your tv to the unit, your tv will instantly start making a unhealthy buzzing noise. It makes the noise even when you have not turned on the television. The tv will turn on but you can tell it is not happy. I will be returning the unit and buying a lower wattage more expensive Pure Sine Wave Inverter. I took the chance that this would work for all of my electronics like the add says, but no dice. It does power my router, modem, cable boxes, lamp, Directv SWIM box, and laptop computer. Will find out if PURE SINE WAVE is worth 300% more than MODIFIED WAVE INVERTER.

Car Code Reader Scanner VW/AUDI SCAN TOOL MAXSCAN VAG405 VAG 405 OBD II OBD 2 EOBD2

Car Code Reader Scanner VW/AUDI SCAN TOOL MAXSCAN VAG405 VAG 405 OBD II OBD 2 EOBD2
  • Advance features for VW, Audi, Seat & Skoda.
  • Basic features (read, erase, freeze frame data.) for all other OBD2 & CAN-BUS vehicles.
  • Read & erase trouble codes & reset service lights. It will perform these functions on engine, ABS, Airbags, transmission, radio, climate control, instruments, immobilizer & more.
  • Turns off MIL Lights: engine, airbag, ABS, transmission & most other systems.
  • Resets the Oil Service Light. etc

I had an airbag maintenance indicator (idiot) light in our 2006 VW beetle. The local auto place scanned it for free but said they would not clear the code and that they would charge $75 for a full diagnostic scan. The dealer wanted $113 and then of course repair parts and labor if I elected to pursue repair. Bought this little gem and actually couldn't believe how fast it shipped and arrived on the selected free super savings shipping. As soon as I got it I unpackaged it. The unit was packaged well and looks great. I was anxious to test it out so after a quick scan through the instructions I was off and running in under 10 minutes. I read the code then googled it and found out that it could be caused by the rapid movement of the passenger seat if moved within 10 seconds of turning the ignition key which is exactly what occurred a few weeks ago when we had stopped to get mail at our mailbox shifting the seat for additional leg room for some boxes we had received. The scanner allowed me to reset the code and it hasn't and doesn't appear to ever be coming back. So what I anticipated was going to be a big diagnostic and repair bill vanished in no time flat. Color me impressed as this is one sweet little diagnostics tool for what I consider a very reasonable price

You need this reader to clear codes. You can unhook the battery , but that will not clear the stored codes in your ECU. They will reappear in time. This is a very valuable tool to use. Well worth the cost. If you use a generic code reader that is not a VAG reader you will only read generic codes for OBD II systems. This reads Volkswagen codes specific to Volkswagen products. A VAG reader is the only way to permanently clear the codes.I am a mechanic and trust me you will be chasing pink elephants unless you get this diagnostic code reader. This will save you the cost of guessing at what sensor is bad and needs to be replaced.

I bought a used 2003 vw jetta with check-engine, airbag light on. Upon inspection, I was told the airbag module needed replacement and a ton of other things for the check engine. I decided to get this device to see for myself as I enjoy researching such things. I found an easy do-it-myself solution for the airbag thanks to the code provided by this device. I also got the code as it related to the check engine and made the repairs. This device saved my $1000s already and worked exactly as stated. It is very easy to use and follow the on screen instructions to get the job done. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to know what is really wrong with the car and not have to deal with mechanics adding items to your bill for no reason.

Want Car Code Reader Scanner VW/AUDI SCAN TOOL MAXSCAN VAG405 VAG 405 OBD II OBD 2 EOBD2 Discount?

This scanner is obsolete and can not even be up dated. I hooked our A4 Audi up to it and it would not even connect up to most of the "CAN" network. Don't waste your money on this and find a good scanner or a "real" VAGCOM software.

This reader worked great on my VW . They were going to charge me $350 to put the glow plugs in the car. I purchased the glow plugs and the reader for under $100 and did it myself in 30 minutes.

Bosch 24618-01 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 1/2-Inch Square Drive Impact Wrench Kit with 2 Batteries, Charge

Bosch 24618-01 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 1/2-Inch Square Drive Impact Wrench Kit with 2 Batteries, Charger and CaseI have found the bosch impact wrench has exceeded my expectations, I thought perhaps the HT version would be required to change 4wd wheels but this does it with ease. Driving 4 inch tek screws is also not a problem. It has run well on both the slim and large batteries and is easily adapted between 1/2 drive to 1/4 hex (after market adaptor needed). Pleased I purchased this product.

Debated on buying the "high torque" version of this model, but when with this instead. For my needs, it's awesome. I use this pretty much for just automotive work; not a professional mechanic by a long shot, but just work on my car and friends. I swapped the shocks in my moms car recently, and this saved me I would guess an hour in the process, and it's FUN to use.

I got this one for an absolute steal on Amazon warehouse it was in used/like new condition, so I was hesitant, but it just looked like someone opened the box, and returned it immediately. With 2 batteries, a charger, nice case and the driver, $135 was just too good to pass up.

Pros: I'm a Bosch convert. All their power tools that I now own just fit well in my hand, are well balanced, feel quality, the batteries last forever, and charge quick. In fact, I don't see me looking at any other brand, they're just that well designed (ze germans, no?). If you do the math, this puts out around 135lbs/ft of torque, which is almost double what my Bosch 12v impact driver puts out. It's not heavy, it's not huge, but puts out bolt snapping torque in a small package. Two batteries included are a huge plus, even at the new price this is a great deal. They charge... insanely quick. Maybe I hadn't drained it, but it seemed like 15 minutes until fully charged, which is nuts. LED is a nice touch. Progressive trigger is also somewhat a rarity in the bigger impact drivers; this has it which is nice doesn't try to jump out of your hand. Also has the brake function, so when you let of the trigger, it just stops spinning immediately. Keeps nuts from flying out of sockets, which is a pain. Ergonomics, power, and battery life are the key features, and it's very well priced.

Cons: LED could be brighter; no battery meter.

Conclusion: If you don't work on tractors or things that require massive amounts of torque (i.e. above 130ft/lbs), I don't think there is a better 1/2 driver out there. I have a Dewalt, and now basically hate it (twice as heavy, worse battery, poor ergonomics/balance, same power). Can't say enough about Bosch tools, they are my new go-to brand when looking for anything new.

It's a solid Impact Wrench, does its job very well and consistently so. I use it for the tracking my car and changing wheels often. The wrench is easy to use, has good charge, and is powerful enough to do all the jobs. It's rubberized in all the right places and you can feel the quality manufacturing of this product. I highly recommend it. I just wish it had more optional attachments for the battery so I could use bosch products everywhere.

great impact wrench. more convenient than using air tools for removing lug nuts. love the power/torque & light. only thing lacking is a way to adjust torque to prevent over tightening of lug nuts besides letting off the trigger early. this thing is powerful & will not disappoint. order some impact sockets when you order this wrench if you plan on removing lug nuts. i love this tool & will only buy bosch products from now on. since using this product i've ordered a bosch 3/8" 18 volt drill(batteries are interchangeable) & a bosch oscillating tool & numerous bosch accessories on amazon

Want Bosch 24618-01 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 1/2-Inch Square Drive Impact Wrench Kit with 2 Batteries, Charge Discount?

I bough this as an alternative to using a compressor (small capacity, always refilling...) and pneumatic impact wrench . So far, I've only done the lug nuts on my wife's BMW 528. No problem zipping them off.

I like the variable speed and trigger ergonomics (as opposed to dewalt, for example), but haven't found a need for the LED work light (I'd prefer to have the option to switch it off). It's really lightweight, too.

For higher torque, I'll get the big Bosch impact, but for wheels, suspension work, etc., I think this will be fine. My only other cordless impact experience was with a snap on 1/2 18v, which was great, but when spending my own money, this little Bosch does the job just fine.

Kensington 33362 Ultraportable Power Inverter 150

Kensington 33362 Ultraportable Power Inverter 150This is the perfect adapter for me as it powers both my notebook and all of my gadgets from a single brick. I use it for my notebook, DVD player, cell phone, mp3 player, guitar trainer and PDA. The Kensington is simple, compact and lightweight without a lot of fussy extra stuff to deal with. The iGo and Targus systems require a separate dongle for low-power devices like cell phones and CD-players.

"Brick" really isn't a good description though, because the Kensington transformer has a super slim profile and is lightweight. I bought the 120w version because some people reported trouble with the 70w on newer HP Compaq Business notebooks. I figured the 120w is good now and insurance against obsolesence in the future.

The power supply is just part of the picture though, as the real beauty of the system is the "smart tip" feature. I frequently fly on international and long haul domestic trips and like to take along my portable DVD player for entertainment. Instead of hauling heavy auxiliary batteries or having both a DC adapter for the plane/rental car AND the regular power bricks, cables and wall warts for AC, now all I need is a single power supply and the right tips.

It seemed like I was always forgetting to pack the one crucial component I needed, like the USB cable to charge my Tungsten T or the wall wart for my mp3 player. With this system, everything stays in one pouch in my carry-on briefcase and the OEM power supplies stay at home, no more sharing and forgetting....

On the downside, the AC power cord really needs to be longer. Now it hangs down off the wall with the weight of the brick straining the cord. This will eventually lead to failure and an electrical hazard unless replaced. Also on my wish list is a separate European two-prong power cord to eliminate the need to pack a plug adapter.

Technical support is a joke, as the call desk didn't even know that any of the DVD tips were available. Technical spec information is nigh on impossible to get. My DVD player wasn't listed on the website and I wanted to know which tip supplied 9v.

Good luck trying to find that out without a major research project. I wish Kensington would just publish a compatibility chart on the site and keep it current, instead of that goofy query-based tip selector. It is so out of date, that it doesn't list many of the DVD player models that have tips (e.g. Panasonic).

I wanted to find the right tip for my Philips PET1000 DVD player. I finally had to go to the manufacturer websites that Kensington makes tips for to dig out which one uses 9v (it was Panasonic). Bought the tip, works like a charm. This works for other devices that aren't listed too, like my Tascam gutiar trainer. If the tip fits your device without forcing or isn't loose, it is probably the right one. However, ALWAYS check the voltage and amperage first to avoid frying your stuff.

The bottom line is that this is head and shoulders above the other AC/DC systems out there. If Kensington can keep up the product support by making new tips for gadgets as they hit the marketplace, it could be around for a long time.

I am very happy with my Kensington Inverter and recommend it highly. It has served me well on many road trips and airline flights.

Having a 3-prong outlet makes this a far more versatile and useful device than inverters that just have a tip for the laptop. It is by far one of the lightest devices of its kind that I have found and great for travel.

There are a few tricks of the trade when using these kinds of devices. One is that airline "empower" ports only put out 75W--and if you read the fine print it can get shut off abruptly at any time during the flight with no warning.

There ar a number of laptops that require more power than 75W--particularly if you are trying to charge the battery at the same time. No inverter can help you solve this problem but it is something to be aware of. In many cases you can either remove the battery or connect it and let it fully charge up before you turn the machine on and it will work fine.

And finally the box says 150 watts, but this is *peak* power which only lasts for a short time (such as the startup phase for your laptop). Sustained output is 120 Watts--just something to note in case you are running devices that require that reuqire a lot of juice.

But all in all this is a *great* little device and I recommend it highly.

Buy Kensington 33362 Ultraportable Power Inverter 150 Now

I purchased the Kensington Universal 120W AC/DC Power Adapter because I wanted a lightweight solution to keep my IBM/Lenovo T43 laptop powered through long airline flights. Kensington's product is a slick piece of engineering the brick is actually lighter than the one that came with the T43 (that went in the closet immediately, probably never to return). And, it's probably < 50% of the weight of some of the previous AC/DC adapters on the market. Yesterday, a friend was telling me of some incompatibility between his DC adapter and the set-up in American Airlines coach. I've had no such issues. I've had the opportunity to employ my Kensington Universal 120W Adapter at home, office, car and plane and I've had complete satisfaction in all settings. And as for the previous reviewer's comment about the 5" cord, yeah, it does make for a rather odd, dangling effect, but I've not had a situation yet where I've been unable to make a connection because the brick got in the way (although I've had a couple of stares at Starbuck's when I cram the brick into the power alcove).

This power adapter is light, versatile, and performs its function very well, but verify that compatible tips are available for your specific devices.

It has replaced five power cables I used to lug around for trips, and worked perfectly in Europe and India on 220 volt supplies. It's actually lighter than my original Dell laptop adapter. The anywhere adapter also works with a 12VDC auto outlet and the Empower outlets found on many airlines.

This is a power adapter only, so it will not perform a data connection with your PDA, iPod, etc. something to consider if synching while traveling is important to you.

The power cord from the outlet to the brick is 6" short. This is by design to allow the adapter to hang off the wall and have more air circulate around it. The adapter can get quite hot when drawing maximum power. I like the short cord because it's one less item to coil just toss it in the bag. I've actually worn out two other power adapters by coiling the cords and causing them to fray. The cable from the brick to your device, in contrast, is extremely long (approx 3m/10ft). Kensington offers a retractable cable; I haven't bought it but it is intriguing.

A few more hints:

-The adapter comes packaged with several tips for the most common devices, including the iPod.

-Check to ensure a tip is available for your device. Kensington does not have the newer Nokia cell phone (AC-3U 1.5mm) tip; you can get the Nokia adapter for the older tip. There are tips available for digital and video cameras. Check that the tip is in stock! I had to look around for the BlackBerry one.

-Consider getting the dual charging cable. This is a splitter that powers two devices simultaneously (one high power such as a laptop and one low power such as a phone/PDA).

-The included zip case is awful. It's thin and the zipper split open easily.

Want Kensington 33362 Ultraportable Power Inverter 150 Discount?

This is based on a couple of days' experience.

The AC seems to work. Haven't tried DC yet.

It's lighter than the factory power supply for my Compaq Presario 2100. That's 18oz; this one is around 13oz without the DC cord; even with the DC cord it's a couple of ounces lighter. It's also a bit slimmer, though wider and a little longer.

It has built-in velcro straps on the cable. Cool, means I don't have to add my own.

The cabling is kind of interesting. The AC input cord is only about 5" long, so the power supply normally just hangs from the outlet. The DC output cord is about 10'. Both cords will detach from the PS itself, and then the DC output cord connects to one of several tips that select voltage and tip style.

The advertised capability to power almost anything is quite attractive, but I wasn't able to find anything about alternative tips at Kensington's web site. It'd sure be nice to be able to power my PDA and my cell phone, but they'll take unusual tips. Their compatibility page had lots of laptop computer coverage, and zero coverage of anything else.

When you combine the tip with the connector on the end of the cable, the result is about a 3.25" rigid connector sticking out the back of the computer. That make me nervous; it seems like it's asking to get broken or, worse, break the laptop. It may interfere with one of the major things I wanted this unit for strapping the laptop to the center console in my motor home. A right angle connector would be better. The factory power supply has a right angle connector, and projects only 0.75" out the back.

Power Acoustik PC1.5F 1.5 Farad Digital Power Capacitor

Power Acoustik PC1.5F 1.5 Farad Digital Power Capacitor
  • Keeps Voltage up so bass hits hard!
  • 12-16 DC Volts Operation
  • Mounting Brackets
  • Easy Installation
  • Digital Display

Price is great(Amazon is lowest you'll find), especially since this is a name brand piece. I run 300W RMS to 10" sub, and 300W RMS to 4 door speakers. This cap has performed flawlessly (does not drain battery like other reviewer stated). Helps the bass hit harder, and reduces distortion associated with battery drain. Headlights don't dim at all when bass hits. My truck will dim it's lights when the A/C compressor kicks in, so I couldn't imagine the light show I'd have without the cap. Charging time is quick. That's the advantage of the digital display, because you know when you hit proper voltage charge. Comes with platic mounting brackets, so don't overtighten screws, or you'll be screwed.

Didn't really have any problems hooking it up, and I've never done it before. Took about 20 minutes of cruising before it actually started working. Lights still strobed, and subs were sounding the same, then all of a sudden... CLEAN BASS, no headlights/dashlights strobing to the bass. $35 well spent.

The only reason I gave this product 4/5 stars is because the installation instructions could've been a little more "informative". There are probably plenty of videos explaining it on youtube lol. I didn't have any problems though lol.

I hit 140.0 DB's legal on a term lab before installing these. After install with the KNU wire I metered 143.1 DB's legal on a term lab. Im going to grind it down a hair to see if it works then but i dont like to fix things that should work. Its up to you if you want to try these and as far as im concerned the idea is there and would have worked great and could work great for you. Its easier then buying a distribution block and running 4 gauge wire off that to my amp but i might have to do that if i cant get this to work. Give it a try, it might work for you. 1/0 Guage wire in a 4 guage hole, ever tryed that? Doesn't work too well. But these wire reducers do. Simply strip the plastic off your power/ground wire and side in the hole, twisting with the strands to keep them all tight works best! The only think you have to be careful for is if you un-plug your amp to tape off one of the connectors to keep them from shorting out.

NOCO Genius GEN1 12V 1-Bank 10 Amp Smart On-Board Waterproof Battery Charger

NOCO Genius GEN1 12V 1-Bank 10 Amp Smart On-Board Waterproof Battery ChargerOriginally I wanted a portable unit that I could clip and unclip from the boat batteries as needed (which would not be very often as the engines usually provide sufficient charge), but a permanent charger seemed much simpler. Once it's set up, simply plug it in and let it charge the batteries. The unit was very well packed in its box. It appears very water proof. The cords (to the battery bank and for the 125v) were a surprisingly good length. Simply screw the unit onto an appropriate spot on board, screw the leads onto the battery terminals and plug it in. For a neater finish I also cut the plug off the 125v cord and installed a through hull inlet (Marinco 150BBIW Marine On-Board Charger Inlet (15-Amp, 125-Volt, White).

I live on a hill above Mayfield Lake in Washington state. For the last two years, I have been working more and playing less. My boat is moored on the lake and on those rare days when I get to go fishing, I'd often get to the lake and be disappointed to find a dead battery. My dad suggested a solar charging system but he lives in California. Washington doesn't have much sun, and the mountains and trees cast shadows. I did some research and found this product.

Now on my fishing days, I plug this charger in just before I load my boat. This is definitely worth the price. I know for a fact at least two other guys at the marina have installed one of these. It's trouble-free.

Quality product you can feel when you first take it from it's packaging. This was purchased for a drift boat which powers a GPS fishfinder and radio. I love the convenience of plugging it in to charge the battery after a days fishing.

Easy transaction and quick ship. Very pleased.

I opted for the charger for my malibu axis. Tired of always bringing a portable auto charger down to the boat, this onboard charger makes maintaining my battery easy. A durable waterproof charger that easily mounts to anywhere in your boat.

AeroVironment Plug-In Residential EV Charger (Level 2 Plug-In EVSE-RS: 7.2kW, 30A)

AeroVironment Plug-In Residential EV ChargerWe had been trying to buy this product for about a month on Amazon but it had been sold out. We were able to order it from aerovironment directly about two weeks ago, before it reappeared on Amazon. We did pay a bit more but weren't sure when we would see it here on the site. So far it has been great. We had the outlet installed for around $250 and that made installation very easy. Didn't take much over twenty minutes and we were charging the car with the Level 2 charger. Having the charger is great and relieves a lot of the anxiety range you can get with the level 1 charger and a Leaf. If you can get over the fact the manufacturer also builds drones, this is a good product. One other issue is it is a little harder to get the nozzle into the car than the charger that comes with the car. Our 5 year old loves setting up the charger but has had trouble with the new charger.

This EVSE works perfectly with my 2012 Nissan LEAF. I installed the outlet for it myself and then just plugged this in when it arrived -although, a word of warning, you probably don't want to do it like that. Wait for this to arrive before installing an outlet, because the included template shows you good places to put the outlet -mine was actually a little bit too close. The cord is very short and very stiff, so the valid locations for the outlet are limited.

My only complaint is that these things are so expensive. Considering what it does: When it gets an appropriate signal from the car, it turns on the AC current in the cable. It doesn't seem like there's a thousand dollars worth of technology here.

Ordered the product and it was at my house in 2 days. Had a couple of quick questions and called their customer support, got through to them easily and they knew their stuff.

The package arrived in a day even before Amazon updated the shipping status. Very easy to install. Plug connection is pretty short and thick, so you may want to install the NEMA 6-50 receptacle after installing the unit. The included templates provides all "reaches" for installing the outlet .

It charges the car and gets the job done. Appears to be a quality piece of equipment, but I'm not sure why it should cost $1,000+. It's a charger, not a computer, but from what I read it's the best one for the Leaf so I bought it. Other than the high cost, I'm happy with it. I'm hoping it lasts forever.

Round Solar Roof Vent for RVs, Boats, Sheds, Geen house, Cars

Round Solar Roof Vent for RVs, Boats, Sheds, Geen house, CarsI installed this vent into the roof of a Rubbermaid shed I use to store gasoline and other flammables. It works well to reduce heat buildup during the day. The unit is self contained and weatherproof so I don't have to worry about sparks. It actually runs so fast on a sunny day that it hums. Installation took about an hour, the biggest problem was making a snug 4 1/2 inch round hole that I could caulk to prevent water leakage. I would recommend the square version of this vent if you don't happen to have a hole saw that big but do have a saber saw.

I rated it four stars because it doesn't move as much air as I hoped for, you might want to install two in larger sheds. The unit is well made but I still plan to remove the fan unit in winter. The fan unit locks into the base ring like a smoke dector so I can easily take it off and cover the hole. I have found that items made in warm climates don't usually survive freezing Michigan winters.

I had a vent hole in the top of my van that just had a cap and no fan. I removed the cap, and all that was left was the tube. I got lucky that this vent fit right into the hole. Small tabs on the vent locked it into position. All I did was put some silicone around the edge to seal it in. The fan started running right out of the box. All I could suggest is, it could use a on/off switch for cold weather. Other than that, it works nice to keep some fresh air flowing through my vehicle.

I bought two of these Solar Powered Roof Vents for the topper on our pickup truck. We take our two dogs with us almost everywhere we go, these vents provide extra airflow even on cloudy days. They are easy to install, make very little noise when they a running and do not increase the overall height of the vehicle by more than a couple of inches. The vents can be mounted vertically, horizontally or on an angle, as long as the surface(s) are flat. The price, $26.88 is a good value and the shipping was fast and reasonable.

It is so small but it seems to help the 8x12 lawn shed in the 100 deg heat. New in box well packed, great product.

This unit turned out to be smaller than imagined by the listing description / picture. It moves air, as intended, but don't expect it to make a radical change of air or temperature, say in your garden shed or whatever. Might help on your dog's house for summer venting a little.
