I recently bought a pair of these Cobra MicroTalk CXR925 two-way radios to use as 'test' replacement radios for our 6.5 acre, 4 building mini-campus (mostly we purchased based on various strong customer reviews and the longer charge life of lithium batteries, which we need for a full 8 Hr workday's usage.) Five years ago, we purchased several pairs of earlier Cobra MicroTalk LI 6000 WX two-way radios, which were perfect for our facilities; they are durable, and perform wonderfully for our day-to-day staff operations purposes. Unfortunately, a couple of them have begun to fail due to almost 5 years of hard, daily usage and normal wear and tear ... but they were a great investment during their working lives and some are still working like champs. Disappointingly, our 2 newer and more expensive 'test' Cobra MicroTalk CXR925 replacements have proven to be an unsuccessful replacement of our older Cobra LI 6000 WX models. The only problem (but a major one) is that at the highest volume setting of '8' on these CXR925s, these 2 new radios are barely audible and my maintenance and janitorial employees have complained that they often have to place the units right up to their ears to clearly hear transmissions. We now only use these 2 newer CXR925 units with office personnel and with earpieces. Wish Cobra still made the LI 6000 WX model.

IMPORTANT REVIEW NOTE / CUSTOMER FOLLOW-UP FOR THE ABOVE REVIEW: This is a follow-up to the above review by the myself, the author. I sent the above mentioned 2 radios back to Cobra's factory repair services per instructions from their repair department shortly after writing this review. Within a couple of weeks, my 2 radios (the same ones I sent back) were returned to me and the previous volume issue with both units was completely corrected. Both units are now working perfectly and at volume levels that are more than acceptable. Great customer support!

I received these in the mail yesterday, and charged them overnight. The next day I was a little skeptical whether or not they would function properly. They both work perfectly, and the sound quality is great. It is also nice because the radios have just the right amount of functions. You can get done what you need to, withought being dragged down by an insane amount of worthless functions. I tested them today and I was able to get a mile and a half range out of them while I was in my house and my sister was in a car. We were both in a city and it was rainy (I actually don't know if rain would affect it). On the box Cobra states that you can get 35 miles on a mountain (with perfect conditions), 17 miles in a forest, and 3 miles in a city. Overall this is definetaly worth its price. Great buy.

We are so impressed with these radios that we bought a second set -the clarity of the voices is so much better than the old Magnavox radios we had before. We got these primarily to go skiing with so the family can stay in touch. We haven't had a chance to use them for that, but we have tried them out. My husband drove down our road approx 2 miles from the house and we had no problem hearing each other. They are easy to use. We predict these will work great in the mountains skiing.

These were purchased to replace a pair of Motorola radios, mainly because of the rewind feature and the longer battery life. With out car club, we always carry radios when we are meet up for a run so we can communicate between cars and keep the group together. These radios work GREAT for that! As more and more people start using these radios, we are trying to put one or more of them at either end of the group as the range for these radios will allow conversations back and forth. The rewind feature is awesome to have because you can be focused on driving and the navigator can just hit rewind to hear what you missed.

The only negative that I can report is that the quality control from Cobra seems to be a little lacking. We are the fourth couple to buy a set of these radios and 3 out of 4 pairs came with a defective radio (2) or a defective battery (1). Amazon and/or Cobra have both been very responsive in providing replacements so the issue is partially mitigated. We still recommend these radios to friends and we are 100% happy with the performance, charging, battery life and overall user friendly features of the radios.

DEWALT Bare-Tool DW059B 1/2-Inch 18-Volt Cordless Impact Wrench (Tool Only, No Battery)

I own a business where we source vehicle parts for various shops obsolete parts, discontinued parts, and when we're unable to locate NOS parts used parts. I purchased this impact to replace another cordless impact that died, for mobile-use in areas where power is not available and extension cords are impractical (e.g. body shops, salvage yards, etc.).

While I've found this impact wrench to be more than capable, it has two major short-comings for those considering a battery operated impact for shop/professional use.

First, the anvil incorporates a detent pin, for retaining the socket. This makes the placing/changing a socket on the impact difficult, for most sockets. While those sockets with considerable wear usually go-on without much fight, most sockets either have to be forced onto the anvil, or the detent pin has to be manually depressed to get the socket to slip over the pin. Removing the socket can be even more problematic, if the detent pin is accidently placed into the retainer-hole that is drilled into most impact sockets. You must use a small diameter phillips or torx screwdriver to manually depress the detent pin, before it will release the socket.

Second, the "trigger" switch is non-standard and functionally poor in design. Unlike most impacts, the switch is a pivoting type of rocker-switch that is approximately 2" in length. This requires you to either reposition your hand to change from removing a bolt/nut to tightening a bolt/nut or to use your index finger for removal and ring-finger to tighten. Several people "inadvertently" used the impact in the wrong direction before getting use to the rocker-switch, and in one case significant shop-time was wasted extracting a bolt that was sheared as a result.

To the positive, this impact is very strong when it comes to bolt/nut removal. I've had it remove 32mm axle-nuts, where a 25" breaker bar could not "break" the axle-nut loose after repeated tries and this was not on a fresh battery. I routinely use it to remove pinch-bolts (spindles), subframe bolts (front wheel drive transmissions), and U-bolts (rear axle assemblies), without any significant problem.

Overall, I rate this cordless impact as follows:

Ability (5) outperforms other battery-operated impacts in the same price and torque range

Design (3) detent pin significantly increases time required to change sockets; the rocker-switch can be difficult for some to adapt to especially when you routinely change between an air-impact and cordless-impact.

Price (5) performs nearly as well as higher-priced cordless impacts, such as Milwaukee and Snap-On

Useability (3) again due to the added time required to change impact sockets (detent pin) and non-standard trigger-switch, it detracts from use in situations where the socket must be frequently changed.

If DeWalt were to produce this same cordless impact with a hog-ring type retaining anvil, as well as a single-pull switch and separate directional switch like the DC823B I could see this becoming the defacto standard in mid-range cordless impact wrenches.

Overall, I rate the DeWalt DW059B/K Impact Wrench a (4).

Great price without the battery. Very powerful. Able to easily remove lug nuts without effort or the need for a breaker bar.

Get it if you need something small (relatively) that can remove multiple sets of wheels without breaking a sweat.

Only gripe...the trigger. It isn't like a regular dewalt drill where there is the button you push back and forth to change the direction the drill goes when you pull the trigger, the trigger has an upper and lower portion...a little harder to use but fine none the less.

First of all, I never had air before. So I bought this instead of buying compressor and the hole nine yards.

I already had a 18v dewalt drill with a nicad battery. The battery is about 1 year old with not much use. At first when receiving this impact drill, I felt weak power so right away I made sure by fully charging the battery I had and trying it out. It worked well, but with automotive you know there are some stubborn bolt/nuts because of normal oxidation and things. So I would use heat/breaker bar then this which worked fine.

So just a month ago I bought the new dewalt lithium-ion battery with charger. Charged the battery and it sat for like 2 weeks. Finally had some work to do on a car where my elcheapo air tools frustrated me. Pulled out the impact drill and plugged in the new battery.

This beast blasted nuts off that I even had a hard time with a 18 inch breaker bar(more to do with position clearance; I have some guns on my arm).

So I came to the part where I put the new parts in. Normally I would torque to specs but I would at least use the drill to get close where i don't need to ratchet. I accidentally broke a bolt with this drill. It works so fast that I wasn't able to release and sure enough it snapped off the bolt with nut. Luckily it was an easy fix but I just wanted to warn people not to underestimate the ft pounds mentioned on this tool.

Good tool and price but one problem, the socket retaining device broke the very first time I used it.

The impact socket wouldn't come off for anything the first time, I ended up putting the socket in a vice and pounding the socket off with a punch and hand sledge though the center of the socket. Retainer parts flew when it finally busted loose. Don't think there was anything I could have done differently. I'm sure I could send the unit back but it seems to hold the sockets on just fine without the retainer. Besides I don't see how a replacement wrench would be any different.

As far as strength goes, it was able to break a 8" long 3/8" lag bolt in half. I've been grabbing it every time since I got instead of my 1/2" IR pneumatic impact. It's been able to break loose tractor tire lug nuts that were torqued to 250 ft/lbs.

Hard to beat that.

I purchased this to remove lug nuts from my cars and trucks. I went with the bare tool as I already had 18v Dewalt tools that worked great. Opened it up, inserted a freshly charged battery and tried to take the lug nuts off my Ford Super Duty (14mm) with no luck. Doesn't even seem to be trying. I typically torque them to around 125 lb. ft. I haven't had the opportunity to try it on other, smaller nuts yet, but I'm not too hopeful. Still trying to decide whether to keep it or send it back. Very disapointed.

As all Husky liners, they are the perfect fit. Tough, resilient to spills, and great looking. Upon purchase, I thought the rear-seat liner would be one piece, but that's not the case. There is a split that folds comfortably under the passenger side liner which is located directly under the rear cup holders. Interesting placement considering any spill will travel under the passenger liner compromising the carpet.

Otherwise, fantastic purchase. Just be aware of the potential for failure.

This unit really works with factory stereo player. It's amazing. Read the review from others and willing to try it. The sound quality is clear but if you set the gain too high on it, you will hear static noise. If it wasn't for that I would rate it 5 stars. Overall I am satisfied. I've owned a few Pioneer head units. This one is tied with an older Premier 860 MP. But this one is by far, for the money, the best. It is super easy to set up and works seamlessly with USB and/or iPod controls. The 4v pre-amp voltage is VERY nice. Which is actually what puts it on the same level as the 860, in my opinion. For 4v, its very clean. Better than the 6.5v from the 860, oddly. If you are reading reviews to help make your decision, take this one as some advice...get it. lol. The screen's auto-reversing can be turned off, the button press beeping can be turned off, the ignition switch off chimes can be turned off. Its a VERY clean sounding and strong head unit. VERY well worth the money.

I first would like to say, I have NEVER felt compelled to review an item before but because this stereo has gone so far beyond what I ever expected that I felt I had to write a review. I bought this stereo to replace a very nice Kenwood deck because that Kenwood was older and didn't have any way to use my iPod without using one of those worthless transmitters. This stereo has magnificent sound. They squeeze all the best out of my Rockford Fosgate speakers. I love being able to run my iPod with the receiver. I wouldn't change a single thing about this receiver. I love having the RDS,iTunes Tagging,the remote control and the rest of the perks that come with this receiver. I have had many different brands of receivers over the last 25 years but I have never had one that had the sound this one has nor have I ever had a receiver that was as versatile as this one. If you're looking for a new receiver to replace either a stock or aftermarket receiver, there is no better choice than this Pioneer DEH-P8300UB. Before I make any significant purchase I research it to death. I was looking for a receiver that allowed me to take full advantage of my iPod and this does that. I could go on and on but I think it's suffice to say that I have researched Alpine, Kenwood, Sony, JVC, Blaupunkt, Clarion, Jensen and others and none of them had the reviews or the features of the Pioneer. If you want a receiver that will allow you to enjoy your iPod/iPhone, you won't find a better receiver than this Pioneer.

I just got it yesterday and it took no time to replace my old system. I was concerned that I wouldn't know what wire needed to be connected to what, but luckily my existing system had the same color scheme! i cut the old wiring connections and re-connected the included harness and i was up and playing with the system.

It wasn't as intuitive as i had hoped for making band selections, but the manual was easy enough to figure out. The only drawback I have seen so far is that i cannot select a playlist from my iphone to play i can select a genre,artists, albums, songs, but not my playlists. However, there is an application that can be downloaded from Pioneer that will allow me to create playlists that can be played. Guess what I am about to do! :)

Also, I love the Pandora capability!

I bought this based on reviews and regret it. It is a good sounding stereo and play a wide variety of media but the interface is a big downfall.

First the good:

It does play mp3's from just about anything I can plug in via USB; not just an iPod but an SD card, Sansa and other players and media formats.

The sound is a lot better than the stock Ford unit, even with the EOM speakers.

Installation is pretty simple provided you know what you are doing.

The bad is that I really can't get over the interface. I imagine that this was aimed at some sub-market or a demo environment because it really is not good for a dash of a vehicle!

As some have pointed out, the MC button is really hard to press even in the driveway. Put a rubber band behind it and it might lessen the sensitivity.

There really is no good display setting that I like. You have dolphins, a DJ of some useless graphics, but no way to set this thing to display info that is useful like the time. It randomly shows the clock in a small piece of text or the elapsed time since you started the engine. It also turn the entire screen to a super bright display making nighttime driving a bit distracting.

I find it hard to tune in the audio but this might be my situation. Sometime there is no bass then it is pounding. There is a bunch of Audio and EQ settings via the MC button but getting in and out them is frustrating at best.

Really, if you have steering wheel controls or want to use this with just the remote (line-of-sight only) then this would be a fine unit. But it does not belong on a dashboard. Maybe in the trunk with a wired remote!

Maybe I just expect more though.

Great head unit, got it as an upgrade to aprevious premium series from pioneer too, this one has an even better sounding pre-amp, went nice with only 2 kits on front, a sub, 400 watt amp on 2+1 mode and a crossover for subfiltering and reducing the noise from my engine (it has some interference on the tweeters). The compressed sound enhancer works great (similar to creative's sound cards enhancers) and the 5 band equalizer too, these are the most significant changes I noticed... having 2 custom equalizer settings also helps. The lights are sort of bright even in the dimmerest mode, for night riding, but it does have a "switch display off" option that also functions much better.

About the USB thing, I don't have an Ipod or Iphone, so I use an android device and USB pen drive for music, together with the pioneer folder and file navigation. The thing is that this unit does not put the music from the folders on alphabetical order, the sorting only works with ipods... that, I discovered after some weeks, is because of the FAT system restrictions, so in order to have the music sorted as in a computer you need to use some FAT sorting software...

This FAT sorting solved the problem, but it would be much better to have this information on the user's manual, that I had to read over and over for nothing!!

That said, I recommend the product for its fidelity, easy usage and simple functions... only flaw that I remember is the main control being sometimes too sensible, but my previous device was even worse on this matter and it is kind of safe as I avoid using the control while driving faster or in bad conditions.

I decided to buy this because in my car (thanks to the location of the cigarette lighter) it was impossible to use the shorter, springy power cord that came with the radar detector. The instructions are simple (available online at , also pasted below), and what really took me the longest was finding the right fuse to use and then a ground screw to connect the other terminal. But that's really more a function of your car than of the product. Once I got that sorted out the rest was easy and it works and looks great!

INSTRUCTIONS (from Cobra website at ):

1. Connect the fused wire to a fuse in the fuse box. The fuse for the radio is recommended. To connect the wire to a blade-type fuse, it is recommended to use a fuse tap available from Radio Shack. Part number 270-1204 for standard blade fuses, or part number 270-1218 for mini-blade fuses.

2. Plug the cable into the radar detector and turn on the detector.

3. Turn on the ignition.

4. Touch the other wire to various screws under the dash. When the detector turns on, you have found a ground screw. Attach the wire to this screw.

5. Carefully run the cable to the detector, avoiding the brake and gas pedals.

This completes installation.

This wire kit was just what I needed to get my Cobra Radar Detector up out of the way on my windshield. I now have mine mounted just to the right of the rearview mirror. I didn't want to cut the original power cord so I can still use it in another vehicle. The kit wire is very thin and easy to tuck under interior trim to hide the wire. I wired mine to the accesory fuse so it turns on and off with the ignition. loved getting that wire off my dash and opening up my outlet again.

I was able to hardwire my Cobra radar detector in about an hour. Works great and the wires are small enough to fit in the ceiling of my car without taking it off. Makes for simple installation. The wire reaches from my mirror all the way down to my fuse box with plenty of slack. Highly recommend.

Works great on Galaxy 5000RS remote start and alarm system. Just have to make sure your old remote says 433MHz. on the back and not 303MHz., since there are two frequency version that were made (usually 303 is red or green LED; 433 is usually green or blue). Also, yours might look different (have an antenna sticking out), but it makes no difference. Also, the remote I got from Car Alarm Depot was the new style Astra remote, bigger buttons and better feel so more durable probably.

I bought this to replace a remote for my Command Start 2000RS that went bad. (Fortunately, the original product came with two remotes so I still have one that works.)

I followed the instructions for programming my alarm system to recognize my remotes, but the system does not recognize this new remote. (It does recognize the old remote, so I know that I'm correctly following the procedure.)

I'll be contacting the seller (audiovideo4me) to see if they can help, but I waited a couple of months before trying the programming procedure so I may be out of luck. I'll update this review depending on what the seller does...

The SA50000 is well-worth the money. It's a bit bulky compared to the Roady 2 but you have to remember that the Roady is for car audio use only. The SA50000 can be installed on a boombox/indoor unit or in the car so you get both functions with this receiver. When you buy this receiver, there are no accessories included except the remote. Use a C2032 battery to power the remote. So before you head out and buy this, don't forget to buy the battery. I had to open one of my old motherboards and pulled out the battery. I don't think it's mentioned on the packaging about what type of battery it uses. So I'm saving you all a headache and telling you. Ok let's start off with the installation. I bought a Delphi Boombox to hook up the receiver. To actually review this product, I would have to review the boombox as well cos without a boombox or car adaptor, this receiver is useless. So...installing the receiver is quite easy on the boombox. The boombox has a cradle that catches the receiver. Be careful not to force the receiver into the cradle mount. Just slide the receiver into the cradle. The contact pins should catch the receiver in the cradle, and then lightly push the receiver forward. Push the receiver on the top-most part of the device. Push the receiver until it clicks. To unseat the receiver, just push it again and it will make a faint click. Pull the receiver off gently.

Now, to activate. It's really a painless process. Make sure that the receiver is hooked up and seated properly in the boombox cradle. Ok, power-up the boombox and receiver. Just have your credit card ready, a pen, and a piece of paper. Once the receiver is powered-up, go to Radio ID channel. To switch channels, use the rotary dialer until it says Radio ID. It should give you the Radio ID number. Copy it and then activate it online. Activation fee via online is about $2.00 less than if you activate it over the phone. Once you get a message on the XMradio activation page, go back to your receiver and start looking for the channels, starting with channel 1,4,5,6,7, then 122. You can also use the number keys to switch channels. The ENTER key is that big button on the rotary dialer's hub. If after activating it, you don't get any sound from the channels I mentioned, please don't blow a gasket. Give it like about 30 mins. for the satellite to update your receiver. After about 30 minutes, you should be getting most if not all 120 channels.

Now the remote...well one thing is missing on the remote and that's the MENU key that's found on the receiver. Maybe it's somewhere on the remote but I haven't found it yet. Remote is fairly straightforward operation. As for the boombox, it comes with an antenna. It has a 20 ft. cable. I suggest you put the antennae close to a window in your house. It says to look for the southern part of the house to get best results. I didn't bother looking for itcos how many people here in US know exactly where the south part of their house is? Anyways, get the antenna on an elevated position and turn it towards the window. The receiver has a function that will tell you the signal strength of the satellite waves and the terrestrial repeater waves. You can access this by going to MENU and then scroll down to Antenna Setup. If you see four-bars filled for satellite and three bars filled for terrestrial, then you are GOOD TO GO. The boombox packs a wallop! The sound is crisp, tight, and powerful. I have it at level 20 volume and it's shaking my lounge. I don't know what the max volume is and I won't even try it. The boombox comes with a humongous sized power adapter to power your receiver and boombox. Overall, the SA50000 is a fantastic receiver, it's easy to install, activate, and it gives a nice clear sound and signal. My suggestion is buy SA50000 and keep it for home use only. If you want to have a satellite radio for the car, I suggest you get the Roady 2.

I was researching recently on which satellite radio system I should get. I came across two choices: XM radio or Sirius Satellite radio. XM offers 130 channels while Sirius offered something like 110 channels. XM was also 9.99 while Sirius was 12.95. By comparing I decided to get the XM Delphi because of the number of channels and for the monthly price. So far its been awesome, music is crystal clear and is everything people made it to be. The only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it isnt 100% commercial free. I would say its in the range of 95% commercial free. It has any genre your looking for, including 12 news channels (MSNBC, NBC, ABC, BBC etc...), 3 Comedy Channels, and Automated Weather Channels.

I purchased the home kit simply because my home theatre system is fully compatible. So far no problems I highly recommend this product. If you are planning on purchasing this product, the activation might be a little complicated. If you activate over the Internet its 9.99 or over the phone for 14.99. Technical support is very poor for this product, however rarely will it glitch or have a problem.

XM Radio, what can I say it was the first and still remains number one in sales and stock for Satellite radio! And those baseball fans out there, XM will have EACH and EVERY MLB game starting from the spring training up to to the world series! It doesn't matter if you're a Dodgers fan living in NYC or your local market does not play your team (there are no blackouts where they block the game), you'll hear your team!

Did I mention XM has FOUR channels with Christmas songs? One with tradational, another with contemporary, another with country and the last (my favorite) is songs like the Chipmonks, Muppets, Barney, (you know all those non-tradational songs we all love).

Ever listen to the radio and say "hey what's the name of that song?" Well no more doing that with this receiver as it displays the song title and singer! Plus you can hit the memory button and it'll store it for you!

Me I have the SA5000 SKyFi with the Delphi SA1001 Boombox. XM has a VERY strong signal (stronger than any other), so much that I have the antenna on top of the table in my bedroom (signal must go through walls, and part of another house) to reach me. Now that's strong! Weather does not effect the signal, and it does not fade like AM/FM radios. You either get the signal (again I'll bet you will) or you don't. Just be sure to face the antenna south (if you're using it in the house).

What I like about XM is the upcoming MLB (trust me you'll hear more about this as spring comes), and the receiver allows you to keep 20 channels. There's a Decades (I enjoy the 80's), country, hits, christian, rock, urban, jazz&blues, Lifestyle, latin, world, classical, kids, news (has all the news like FOX, CNN, CNN Headline, MSBNC, CNBC, BBC), sports, comedy (3 comedy one of them has funny talk shows), talk/entertainment (Rollye James, Art Bell/George Noorey, Alan Colmes, Mike Medved, Bruce Williams, MIke Gallalgher), Traffic Weather, Special Events and Premium (Playboy and Opie and Anthony).

And did I mention that with XM you'll be hard pressed (or have to listen 24/7 for days on end) to ever hear a repeat song!!

What's real good is that you can listen to your tunes/show and scroll through and then go to whatever channel and see what's currently playing, PLUS with the weather you can either scroll or tune to the weather channel you want (have all the major cities) and see the curren temp., conditions and any road or emergencies as in traffic, etc. XM is the only one that has this!

And you get a remote control that gives you FULL control of your radio, including the volume! Even has a mute button! The display is a orange/amber color.

Personally I enjoy listening either with the lights out or dimmed down as XM lights up and the information on the screen and buttons make it very calming and cool to watch while listening to my favorite shows!

You can't go wrong with this receiver! Nor will you find this price anywhere! Look around at your local stores or other online stores! It's basically for free!

Satellite Radio Good. If you spend much time in the car I would almost say it is a must have. The channel variety, super clear reception. Gotta love it.

Delphi Bad. The first Skyfi I received did not work at all. The replacement worked for a while but now the tuning knob functions erratically. It will skip stations and if you land on a station for more than a few seconds it will automatically change the channel. The volume knob on the boom box no longer works as intended. No matter which way you turn it the volume goes down. If it wasn't for my remote control both the receiver and boom box would be completely worthless. Speaking of the remote control. The clip mounted to the back of the remote control is inserted under the battery cover. Occasionally when trying to clip the remote to something the clip will pop off and take the battery cover and sometimes the battery with it. What a heap of junk.

I will never purchase anything from Delphi again. If that means I have to switch satellite providers so be it.

This is a replacement for the original that has been eaten by the jungle.

Good product, good delivery and the price was right.
