jWin Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit - Gray

If you are looking for a Bluetooth Hands Free device that is all singing and all dancing, go elsewhere and buy something that is 3 4 times the price, as they say you get what you pay for, with this jWin Bluetooth Hands Free at $25 what do you expect.

It charges up via the supplied car charger in a couple of hours, it is easy to pair with your phone by just holding down the larger of the 3 buttons (Multi Function Button) until the unit comes to life and displays a flashing blue light, then keep holding it down until it flashes Red/Blue, now you can find the device and pair with it on your phone handset. Once this is done every beep and noise the phone makes is now coming from the small speaker from the jWin unit, it is clear enough to use whilst driving and can be quite loud, however don't try and use the volume controls on the unit as they do not seem to function, use the volume on the handset and this will adjust the jWin volume, it took me 15 minutes to work that one out ;o)

Anyway it does what it says on the packet, it links to your phone and works, yes you can voice dial by pressing that magic multi-function button, but do not expect a great deal of accuracy, maybe one in 3 times it will get it right, however a good feature to make sure the battery lasts a long time between charges is the fact that when you go out of range with your phone, ie, you leave your car, the unit will switch off and will only work again once you have entered the vehicle and pressed the multi-function button for a few seconds until the blue flashing light appears.

So to summerize, it is a great deal for a cheap Bluetooth Hands Free, it is small so easy to take with you if required and fits perfectly on to most sun visors, apart from that the negative side is just lack of features and a good quality speaker.

In use, I have been told by the person at at the other end it sounds as clear as me talking on the handset, so I guess that it has a good microphone to achieve that.

This device is worth it. Using a cell phone while driving is now prohibited in my country so the need of bluetooth devices is a must now. I have bought about 15 of these over a period of about 6 months because people like the functionality of the device. It is clear, loud, easy to install and connect to any mobile phone. I have had no problems with this device. The one option I would have liked to get with it was a travel charger or wall charger rather than a car charger for the device, however, it uses a standard mini usb port so you motorola and blackberry users should not have a problem charging the device. Keep in mind the standard mini usb wall chargers are easily available. If you are looking for a simple to use bluetooth handsfree kit that is very reasonable, then this should be your option.

I bought this bluetooth hands-free because it's the law not to use your cell while driving. This handsfree syncs perfectly to my Android, and the quality is great. The battery lasts a long time too. For the price, this is a great value. The only drawback is that I have this on my visor, and at night time, the flashing blue light is pretty close to your eyes and can be distracting. I've put this reversed on the visor and pull down the visor whenever I talk on the phone. I would highly recommend this.

the clearest frequency to transmit on is 87.9. However this station is only available while the device is in international mode. Customer support will not tell you how to change the device into international BUT I WILL. Hold down the + and button for about 20 seconds. 'US" will flash in the upper left corner. Now press the + button until you see 'intl'. Now the device will unlock ALL frequencies 87.7 107.9. Use 87.9 or 87.7 for best reception. Also try changing from LX to DX (stereo to mono) because DX (mono) seems to give off a stronger signal without compromising sound. your welcome.

After reading other reviews, I was worried this wouldn't work well for us. But it does just fine.

Used it with Zune, iPod and iPhone without a hitch. Around town, a selected preset works the best and avoids re-tuning. On the road, click the button once when you encounter static or interference, and you are in the clear.

A hard wired connx would be better; this is a good second option.

Got this item to charge and play music on my Droid. However, it appears to have some issues with charging the Droid. It will start charging the unit for a few seconds or even minutes and then stop (even if the Droid isn't anywhere close to fully charged). The FM radio component seems to work well though, so I'm using it, but it's annoying of course to plug in both a separate car charger and the iTrip. Griffin's tech support has been helpful and quickly got me a replacement unit to try, but it has the same issue. I would only recommend this with the Droid if you are aware that the charging aspect of the iTrip may not work with it.

Finally a FM transmitter that is worth something....the sounds that came out were really clear, the range was good (my antenna is on the front of the car), and the smartscan worked great so that i could keep my eyes on the road for the most part....and the USB charger? great idea. i don't think you could do better for the price.

I've had a number of these fm transmitters. I had the first one Griffin released for the early iPods. I had a Transpod for the iPod Video. All worked very well. Easy plug and play. Never a problem.

I bought an iPod Touch and tried one of the docking units from Transpod. It didn't allow you to play video whilst plugged in. It also died after 24 hours so I returned it.

I bought one of these (much less expensive) Griffins as a replacement and it works great. I can set it up so my son can watch video whilst I'm driving. The sound quality is very good.

I've driven through cities with it and country and no problem. It's signal is powerful enough to drown out most local stations if I stray into an area where there's conflict. I've heard some newer models had to tone down the transmitter strength. This one doesn't seem toned down. I can use all of the stations without problem.

Design could earn it another star as the cables are a little long and having the transmitter in the middle is not the most convenient. But that's nit-picking. I can't see a real reason not to buy this. I see there's a white version around for less $$$ so that might be a better buy for the frugal.

Bought a set of these to replace missing mats in my 2003 Toyota Sequoia. Have to say, the fit is pretty excellent. Molded shape fits all the nooks and crannies of the wheel well with no room for it to slide around. Only downside I found is that the edge near the door doesn't lay flat, yet. I'm hoping that some hot days will allow the material to droop a bit and fit better. Looks like it would be a match for any size Big Gulp spill. I was worried about how this thing would sound and perform. My first experience with a portable sat unit (a Sky-Fi, My-Fi)was lackluster for sure. I mean its a portable satellite radio unit so my expectations were forgiving. Man o man, this thing is great! Sound quality, specifically bass response is mind blowing. I would go so far as to say it would rival the sound docks from Bose. Getting a strong sat signal can be tricky at times. It takes a little bit of practice and knowing your cardinal directions (XM recommends aiming the antenna south) but surprisingly for the most part you can just point it at the sky and rock on. I have on occasion been able to set it on the kitchen counter and aim the antenna southward and it work just fine inside the house!

Now for the downside. And there is only one. Battery life does seem a bit short. But in its defense it does have to power the unit in addition to the internal amp for the speakers, and I was not using a high quality set of batteries. But even so I would not expect it to last a super long time. It does sort of stink that it needs (8) D cell batteries, but with a good set or rechargeable batteries I expect it should last a while loner. Hey you got to pay to play right? I plan to try it soon with the good rechargeable batteries I have and update this review.

Side note: I did have one issue while using the unit. It was an isolated incident but the volume would cut out and the lights around the volume knob would flash randomly. It only happened once and I use this thing 3+ days a week, also since I cannot replicate the problem I would not say it is an issue, just wanted to point it out.

I love the sound and the ablitly to plug in an ipod and headphones. The styling is sleek without buttons or knobs. The antenna cord can wrap neatly into the back and the antenna stows on the back also. We have the dock infront of a window and it works great until someone sits down next to it (not infront of the window) then it cuts in and out so that is why I didn't give it all five stars. I'm not sure if this is caused by the dock/antenna or the receiver. Now we can use our XM Onyx radio in the car and in the house or outside. I was a little reluctant because of the price but the sound quality was worth it. I wish we would have purchased it a long time ago.

I have a SiriusXM XPress RCi which is a great fit for this portable speaker dock. It is easy to set up & operate. The sound is crisp and clear, for the most part. However, I did notice that the speaker dock seems to over heat while using the battery supply when setting on a solid surface & will shut the system down. When you plug the power supply cord in, the speaker dock begins working again. This would be very inconvenient if you were not close to an outlet. So far this has not been a significant issue yet because we have only used it on our deck where a power outlet is available. I have not tried elevating the speaker dock on something like a cooling rack which would allow air to circulate around the speakers. This might help to keep the bottom of the speaker dock from getting too hot. All in all this is a great way to enjoy your SiriusXM service other than in a car!

I couldn't get over the ease of 'installing' this unit right now as I write this I have the unit in the house with the radio working fine and the antenna on a book shelf with the books and shelving blocking any view of the sky the closest window is surrounded by holly bushes.

The sound is great and the radio snaps right in.

I have several AC car adapters and this is the first one I got with all the three outputs, an 120V AC outlet, USB, and cigarette 12V output; one for each.

This is one of the smallest AC adapters that I ever bought. 100W seems to be very puny, but if you just use it with low powered electronics, it should be enough. Right now, an iPhone is plugged on the USB outlet, and a GPS on the cigarette lighter outlet at the same time. If you are a camper, forget about using it for your air compressors and the likes, look somewhere else then. Typically, it will power laptops, cellphones and other low powered electronics like the kids' video game portables.

I know it is a little scary to plug in directly your expensive gadgetry like the iPhone and iPods through the USB, but I did it anyway. If you want, you can plug your iPhone first on its own adapter, then plug it to the inverter's AC outlet. That way the iPhone adapter may serve as an isolating transformer.

The fan kicks in and a blue LED light will come on once you plug it in. It is not very loud (I have other adapters that are much louder) but you will hear it on top of your music if you only play at medium volume.

The length of the cord is 3 feet. I have an AC adapter that sticks like a brick on the front that is very inconvenient when I shifting my gears, the main reason why I bought this. The unit has rubberized feel.

The holes for the USB and ac both has rubber covers to keep off dust. The cigarette hole don't have any cover on it.

So far, it is still working after a month. Made in China

This product stopped working almost immediately. It has a fan that seems to hit the housing, and did not work at all.

I bought this same exact thing at a Pilot travel center to charge my Toshiba Laptop. Within a few minutes it stopped working. Blue light still comes on, but a red light also flashes off and on too. Won't take a charge very well and not too sure how to fix it.

So I was concerned these wouldn't work with my 2012 GMC Terrain. I tested it on AV1, which is the standard DVD setting. It worked great. Good, clear sound. Unfortunately, found out that the AV2 (the RGB connection through the passenger section) does not carry over. Worse yet, discovered that mid-way on a 12-hour road trip. Would be good if GMC and the vendors were more transparent with the frequencies of these. I'm not going to ding the rating because of this but strongly recommend you test both your AV units.

Other notes the auto off appears to work fine (or the kids are actually turning it off). Battery seems to last a decent amount of time. They've lasted 4 months with regular use so far.
