BESTEK 1000w 12v to 110v inverter power supply 12v battery backup power charger inverter power solo

BESTEK 1000w 12v to 110v inverter power supply 12v battery backup power charger inverter power solor charger battery boat power motor marine inverter power ac supply emergency power pack outdoor unit power source emergency charger power home appliances converters power 12v inverter generator MRI10011-1There are days when I don't feel very smart.

When I got this unit I wanted to test it so I put the cigarette lighter plug on and plugged it into the car, plugged in my electric drill and then blew the fuse on the cigarette lighter socket.

Dummy, the lighter fuse is only 15 amps.

12 volt system at 15 amps, 12 x 15 = 180watts.

Even if you get a 50 amp fuse, 12 x 50 = 600 watts.

You can't fully use this.

This has to be connected directly to the battery for full use.

Connected directly to the battery works fine.

This thing rocks, power went out I hooked my TV, laptop, and a couple lamps. Not quite as good a a generator, but in a pinch it will work.

I give it three stars because it is typical quality of a product made in China--mediocre fit and finish, but it does work. The 2 AC outlets are closer together than a standard home socket, so that could cause problems if you try to plug in more than one wall wart. The outlets are not electrically grounded in any way, but this may true of all inverters since you're just taking DC +/and turning it into AC. There is a fuse soldered in place inside the case, so if for some reason that blows, you are out of luck unless you disassemble the case, desolder the blown fuse, and then resolver a new fuse in its place. To permanently install a fuse is just simply a poor design.

Overall then, it is okay, but not high quality. I thought about giving it 4 stars, the build quality and the oddly soldered fuse don't rate that in my book. See the video to understand about the replaceable fuse being permanently soldered in place.

I use this inverter with marine batteries to power our booth at the art shows. So far, it works great. With that color, there is no way to lose it at the shows by accident. It comes with the cables which is good. The price is the best I could find in the USA, unless you order some no-name brand direct from China.

I've used this on a couple of camping trips. I use it to charge my Makita batteries for my radio and tools. It works good and hasn't had a problem yet. I'm able to charge 2 batteries at the same time. I use the battery clamps to attach it directly. When you do so, connect the positive cable first to cut down on sparking.

Griffin iTrip Universal FM Transmitter and Charger for MP3 Players

Griffin iTrip Universal FM Transmitter and Charger for MP3 Players
  • Compatible with all MP3 players
  • Uses built-in, USB-rechargeable lithium-ion battery for hours of play
  • Three user-programmable presets save the best frequencies for quick access later
  • User-selectable stereo or mono output lets you tailor playback to the recording
  • Quick setup and easy frequency selection for fuss-free audio streaming

I love this transmitter! When I first got it, I was disappointed that it seemed like you could not transmit in the best frequency of 87.9, but then I figured it out:

To change it to international mode (with the frequency 87.9 and so forth) all you have to do is hold the preset button for about 15 seconds, and the US will start flashing. Then you just hit the plus or minus to change to international mode, and voila! You now have the much coveted 87.9 frequency!

Since this transmitter will always be usable for any future mp3 player that I can imagine, (they are all going to have to have headphone jacks, right?) this means:

THIS IS THE LAST TRANSMITTER YOU WILL EVER HAVE TO BUY!

End of story. Get it. Now.

As an iPhone owner it took months for us to find a FM transmitter that gave us the ability to use our iPhone's iPod music capability in the car. Yes, this item is compatible with iPhone. Please see pros and cons below... (reviewed updated 6/21/2008)

Pro:

-iPhone and other MP3 player compatible (i.e. equipped with a "super minijack" headphone connection). Note: please don't confuse compatible with exceptional quality.

-Will power the iPhone and I think it can serve as a charger for it too

-Stores 4 pre-programmed stations

-Long cord could connect to a back seat lighter, not just the front (nice for those of you who have a lighter/socket in the rear)

-Acceptible broadcast strength, plenty loud as long as the iPhone volume is set loud.

-Price is reasonable relative to others on the market

-Buttons are flush with the front, fewer accidental button presses like I had experienced with my other (obsolete) transmitter

-In addition to buttons that cycle through the presets, there's up/down buttons to fine tune stations

-Socket has green LED when ready, turns amber when charging signaling that you are actually getting power

-Plastic case is less hard to open than others, the first that I can recall where I could pull it apart by hand (there's a tab in the back)... although a heavy pair of scissors are recommended

-Price is moderate, less than many (although not the least expensive either)

Con:

-Display is not backlit

-Broadcast strength and quality could be better

-Two cords, one plugs into the headphone jack, the other supplies power... a "quick and dirty" design (other competing models now use only one connector through the bottom connector, no separate connection to the headphone jack)

Nuetral:

-You must supply your own USB-based power cable. Since this is a one-size fits all device, it would be unreasonable to ask them to give you one for every player on the market...

-A small display... a pro or con, depending on the situation

-Made overseas, where quality often suffers (however, so far so good)

-Between the cable and the power cords, that's a lot of cable. I used the twist ties that came with the unit to help wrap up the excess wire to minimize tangling, you may want to too

-For iPhone users: the iPhone periodically emits a powerful magnetic field that interferes with this unit. I've found this true with other devices like my clock radio and phone at work

Bottom line: with recent advances now 3 stars (Amazon does not allow you to change the rating for an item once it is ranked). There are better items now on the market, but a low-cost option, especially good for non-iPhone applications due to random iPhone static interference.

This device works really well... IF you change it from US frequencies to International as explained by Random Bimms in another review of this product. (Thanks Random!!) I was having trouble finding a clear frequency in the D-FW area until I found the secret of setting it to 87.8 MHz. Too bad this tip isn't included in the instructions. With the USB charging connectivity, this is truly a universal transmitter/charger. Don't lock yourself into a unit that is dedicated to a particular brand/model... this one works with all of them that have a standard stereo headphone jack and USB charging.

Want Griffin iTrip Universal FM Transmitter and Charger for MP3 Players Discount?

I have bought several fm transmitters for myself and family members. This one is better than the Belkin TuneCast but not as good as the iRiver (at least in my area in Northern California). I tried all of the suggested frequencies but I do pick up some noise from the ignition during acceleration. I listen to a lot of classical music so I do notice the interference. For other music genres, it shouldn't matter. Once at speed on the road, the music sounds great.

It's great not having to have any batteries for the transmitter OR the MP3 player. Works fine despite crowded NYC airwaves. Only thing lacking is an on/off switch; I have to pull it out of the lighter socket to keep it from draining the car battery.

Jabra TOUR Bluetooth In-Car Speakerphone - Retail Packaging - Black

Jabra TOUR Bluetooth In-Car Speakerphone - Retail Packaging - BlackI realistically give this 4.5 stars, but I reserve 5 stars for perfect devices, so I round down.

I'm a gadget-guru and have used a number of Bluetooth in-car speakerphones in search of the perfect device. In fact, I've used so many, I've come up with a criteria-list of 14 items that I use in my pursuit of the perfect Bluetooth device.

What makes the perfect car bluetooth speakerphone?

==============My 14 Most Important Criteria Items============

1. It should have caller-id that speaks the name of the caller

Yes, this Jabra Tour has spoken caller-id, works great!

2. It should automatically turn on/off as you are away from the car

Yes, it does this with a motion sensor which also works great.

3. It should have ample volume while driving at highway speeds

Not as loud as the Supertooth HD (my favorite), but reasonable and acceptable.

4. You should only have to press a single and easily accessible button to answer or place a call

This is where I mainly deduct a half-star. The button to use voice-dial is different than the button to answer a call and they are tiny and opposite each other. In fact they are so small that you sometimes have to glance up to see that you are pressing the right button this defeats the purpose of hands-free that is supposed to keep your eyes on the road. If Jabra could just improve this, I would absolutely give this 5 stars. Look at the Supertooth HD SuperTooth High Definition Bluetooth Portable Visor Car Kit and Speakerphone for Cell Phones, iPad 2, and iPhone Retail Packaging (Black) (the only 5 star rating I've given), it's one big button, just press it, easy to find every time without looking.

5. It should make use of your phone's built-in voice recognition system (if your phone has this)

Yes, assuming you can press only the small voice-dial button and not something else. Jabra if you made the big round speaker an actual pushable button, you'd have an awesome, perfect product. [I'm still waiting for a manufacturer to make a wireless button we can install anywhere so we don't even have to reach up to the visor]

6. It should be easy to pair and auto-download your phone's contacts

Yes, super easy to do.

7. It should reconnect easily when you are in the car

Yes, this works very well.

8. Callers should be able to hear you clearly at highway speeds

Callers can understand me but as with every Bluetooth speakerphone, they will likely know you are talking on a speakerphone or headset just because of road noise. I've used/listened to built-in factory Bluetooth phone systems in BMWs and Hondas and you can still tell they aren't holding the phone to their ear and mouth.

9. The charging port should not be obstructed when the device is installed on a sunvisor

Yes, this is on the side and it is in an ideal spot.

10. It should have a long battery life

Yes, although it doesn't automatically tell me battery life like the Supertooth HD does whenever it connects, you can hold the voice-dial button down for 3 seconds, say Battery and it tells you battery life. Fully charged it's some 20+ hours of talk time. After a couple of weeks of moderate usage, it was still at 12+ hours of talk time. I think after a month it was still around 10+ hours, which is excellent.

11. It should be reliable whether it is -40 degrees in Fargo or the internal car temperature reaches 140 degrees in Texas

I've only had this for a couple months so it is too soon to tell, I will update this review after a few more seasons.

12. It should have good documentation or manufacturer's website and/or responsive customer support

Yes, Jabra is excellent with their website and online support documentation. In fact, it doesn't really ship with a detailed manual, but it is easy to find on their website. I've noticed a lot of vendors have been doing this, cost-cutting, but greener for our environment.

13. It should be usable whether the sun visor is flipped down or up

I am not deducting anything for this, but no, this is "one-sided" for however you've installed it. If you flip the sun visor, the speakerphone will likely be blocked and against the windshield and you're going to have to blindly find the buttons and lean forward to talk. The Supertooth HD is the only device I'm aware of that uses a magnetic clasp so that it can be removed and used on any side of the visor. If you never use your visor, then this is a moot point.

14. It should be reasonably priced

As of this writing, the Jabra Tour is ~$85 and the Supertooth HD is ~$60. I still feel the Supertooth HD is a better device and value all around.

Jabra TOUR Bluetooth In-Car Speakerphone is a very good quality bluetooth speakerphone. It is easy to pair up and operate. The button are back lighted and big enough for easy operation. The sound quality is good . and the auto on and auto off motion sensor feature is very convenient. Pretty much all you can ask for from a bluetooth speakerphone at this current moment.

Key features:

1. Good sound quality

2. Very easy to use

3. Pair up with multiple devices

4. Auto on and off with the motion sensor

5. Compatible with both Android and Apple IOS (and SIRI as well)

6. Make calls using your voice (voice control feature)

I was wondering what the difference was between this "Tour" and the Jabra "Freeway" as they are so close in price...

The Tour is louder, which in my case is good for use in my noisy old Jeep CJ... at cruise anyway 8-)

Voice commands TO THE TOUR work the same as my Jabra Freeway, but you must hold the voice command button down for at least two seconds, just hold down until you hear "say a command" and not just a quick on/off push

Actual PHONE commands must be avail on your phone in order to use them.

Jabra seems to have this bluetooth tech down pretty well, but have to wonder why make a fully new model at this price point with the Freeway already in place with happy customers... but again, it IS louder with this big single speaker and 3 watts of power.

Bluetooth range is set by industry standards (low power) so you're not going to find any that have longer range (33ft) until the rules change in general and allow them to make more powerful bluetooth transmissions.

This is Bluetooth V3 but the industry has already approved V4 for manufacturers to use so that should show up soon in products.

The Jabra Tour DOES play music files from your phone... however is not in true stereo.

Great heavy duty, full width solid metal clip to hold on the visor (or even your belt or shirt/pants pocket if you care to use it that way) Also works just fine on the desk as a speakerphone.

Car charger and USB cord supplied, but Jabra really should have included an AC wall charger at the MSRP I think. I would never charge something like this from my computer's USB port.

This TOUR works well, but you might want to check out the Freeway before you pull the trigger; Jabra FREEWAY Bluetooth Speakerphone (Black, Retail Packaging) Just know it's not quite as loud on full volume as the Tour.

PDF user manual is available for download or viewing at the Jabra site.

I LOVE my Jabra FREEWAY Bluetooth Speakerphone that I use in my convertible and I really needed another speakerphone for my SUV. My husband uses the Jabra JOURNEY Bluetooth In-Car Speakerphone in his work truck, so you can see we are long time users of Jabra products and they have been reliable, easy to use and we consider them to be high-end quality. Sadly I do not feel the same about the Jabra TOUR. Pairing it with my iPhone 4S was extremely easy, just follow the voice commands after you turn the unit on and go to the bluetooth setting on your phone.

Voice commands are easily recognized and Siri's responses are heard back loud and clear. Siri is the only one heard loud and clear, but anyone else who I talk to sounds muffled and hard to understand. Even when playing music the sound the speaker produces is not the best. It states it is a "Powerful 3 watt speaker delivers rich sound on calls, music and multimedia", but it sounds like someone has turned the bass off and the treble on the highest setting. There is nothing rich sounding about that. This speakerphone should of came with the option play it through speaker, or transmit it via FM to your car stereo. At least that way you can control the equalizer settings to your likings.

The unit is extremely sturdy and it will stay put. Now Jabra needs to come out with a new speakerphone that has the construction and the functionality of the voice commands of the TOUR with the FM transmitter feature and virtual surround sound of the Jabra FREEWAY.

This did not work well for my wife with an iphone 5. She is short but the Motorola T325 works much better and she went back to it. The Jabra one cuts the person off if another starts to talk, it is like having a conversation between an airplane pilot and the tower. The motorola T325 does not do this and you can have a normal conversation.

Jabra SP700 Bluetooth Speakerphone

Jabra SP700 Bluetooth SpeakerphoneThis is a really cool device.

I got one for my wife so she could answer and talk on the phone without looking for her headset and turning it on.

Product works as advertised, and in fact has a number of novel features.

The only "Con" is that it does not support a 2 phone household. It can only be paired to a single phone. It does not support multipoint or dual pairing like some other prodicts (the Jawbone headset). This means that to reconnect it to the secondary phone you must pair it again.

Other than that:

1) It's very loud. easy to hear

2) uses standard USB to charge

3) The FM feature allows you to listen to the caller through your car stereo

4) the caller ID of the caller is spoken to you and broadast on your radio using RDS (so you can see the text of the phone number). Very nead.

5) it announced when it has turned on, off, paired, enabled FM. It's fantastic to get this audible feedback so you know it's working.

I highly reccomned this to anyone who needs a speakerphone for their car. My only caveat is that if you plan to share a car with 2 people it's not so great unless one person only uses the SP700. I would have given it 5 stars if it supported dual pairing.

Pros:

1. Easy to pair

2. Very long lasting battery: went all week without charging

3. Allows voice dialing if your phone supports that feature: press the unit until it beeps (about 2 seconds), the phone goes into listen-for-command voice dial mode; speak into SP700 the name you want to call as it appears in your phone's list (i.e., "Home"); the phone makes the call (I'm using a Nokia 6555--not all phones have the voice dialing function) UPDATE: works even better with iPhone 4.

4. Compact.

5. Easy to charge via its USB port

6. Clear communication: both parties hear clearly (this is, after all, the main goal) with virtually no background interference or feedback

7. Announces its state: electronic voice says, "Connected," "Power off," "Incoming call from xxx-xxx-xxxx," "Call ended"

8. Automatically turns itself off 10 minutes after phone is out of range (30 feet

9. Can play music or podcasts through it if you want--assuming you have a decent player on the phone; many don't

10. Portable: it would work as a desktop speaker phone if you want and easily moves from vehicle to vehicle.

11. Easy to travel with: especially useful with rental cars.

Cons:

1. Can only pair with one phone at a time--if you have a personal and a work phone it's one or the other

2. Can be too loud--it defaults to a very loud initial volume (perfect if you have earphones jammed in your ears--you can still hear everything); it's almost painfully loud

3. You have to turn it on when you get in the car. It would be nice if it sensed the phone and turned itself on.

4. FM transmission to 88.1 or the other freqs is difficult in Los Angeles. The spectrum is so full it's almost impossible to find a clear open channel. This is hardly necessary because the built in speaker is so effective. If you really want to use your car stereo it probably can be fiddled with until it works, but why bother?

5. The control buttons (volume, FM) are poorly marked

6. Because the whole thing is a giant button (like an Apple mouse) the unit turns on easily when you put it in your briefcase.

6a. It needs a lockout lever or a hard case to stop it from being activated when you carry it.

Bottom line: it really works for both ends of the call, it's not expensive, it's portable, battery life is very long.

Buy Jabra SP700 Bluetooth Speakerphone Now

I purchased this device so that I could listen to my music from my Blackberry Pearl on my car stereo. The concept for the device is good. It's sleek and fits well on the visor. My phone recognized the device and they paired right away. I had the device for 2 weeks and used it almost everyday before I returned it.

The device has two modes: speaker and FM transmitter. In speaker mode, the device works just like a speakerphone for phone calls or like a speaker for music. In FM mode, it retransmits everything it receives on its bluetooth interface to an FM channel. I thought the device was a bargain selling for a street price of ~$70 when compared to an FM transmitter alone or a speakerphone alone (~$50). Boy was I completely wrong!!

The major problem with the device is that the FM mode doesn't work as advertised.

The Good:

The speaker mode worked great with my phone. I was able to make/receive calls with no issues. It would cancel out the road noise and background music. The battery lasts for a long time on one recharge -upto 18 hours (manufacture claim).

The Bad:

The device would stop transmitting in the FM mode every 10 minutes or so and I would have re-activate it. The logic on the device used to determine if the phone is streaming music is faulty. I tried emailing Jabra technical support, but never received a response.

In either mode (speaker or FM), the device would auto-adjust the volume down when it thought there was no music being played, even though it was connected to the phone and streaming music. Every minute or so, the device would automatically adjust the volume down so low that I couldn't hear the music on the FM radio any more. This was especially true on podcasts or interview type programs. Then, all of a sudden, it would re-adjust itself and transmit at full volume again for sometime until it would start adjusting the volume down again. It didn't matter what volume setting I used on the phone. There is no way to adjust the volume on the Jabra device when it is in FM mode. It was rather annoying to adjust the volume on the FM radio every minute to try to match what the device was doing.

I wasn't able to stream music from my phone to the device with the standard Blackberry music/media engine application, though it did work with the Mobiola xPlayer music/media player application. I think this is more a function of the Blackberry standard software than it is a problem with the Jabra device.

The device uses a micro-USB connector for power. My phone uses a mini-USB connector. The cigarette lighter attachment provides a standard USB interface. Since I couldn't plug the micro-USB into my phone, I needed to carry two cables for power.

The user-interface needs some work. The on/off/pair/answer functions are all combined onto one button. Jabra would have done better to put the on/off function onto its own button or use a switch.

The FM mode is not strong and distant FM stations on the same channel do intermittently interfere with the device FM signal.

The FM mode has a very low treble and very high bass response. The music actually sounds more balanced coming out of the tiny speaker than the FM stereo.

I returned the device as the main reason I bought the device was to listen to music from my phone on the car stereo. I am buying a Motorola MOTOROKR T505 instead.

Pros:

* sleek look; attaches to visor

* two modes -speaker and FM

* Speakerphone is loud; can be heard clearly over background noise

* Microphone picks up voice over moderate background noise; Works well to cancel noise when having a phone conversation

* Bluetooth paired right away; no need to re-pair each time you get into the car

* Long battery life

Cons:

* FM Mode is terrible and needs a lot of work

* FM Mode stops transmitting every 10 minutes

* Intermittent interference in FM mode

* Terrible music response in FM mode

* non-standard micro-USB connector for power

* User interface poor each button has too many functions

* Jabra does not have a North America support team. They do not respond to email inquiries.

My brother gave me a Jabra for Christmas. My phone was so old, it did not have Bluetooth technology and I went out to get a new phone just so I could use it. Well, I'm glad I did. The only time I need to talk hands-free is in the car. This is perfect for that.

The Jabra is wonderful. It's sleek and thin, doesn't obstruct my vision when on the visor. It was quick and easy to set up and use. When calls come in, I only need to touch it to answer. No more fumbling for my phone. The sound is crisp and clear. I talk mostly to my husband on it and he says the sound is clear on his end. My kids talk to him from the back of the minivan and he can hear them, too. I much prefer it to the earpiece, which I had to worry about falling out of my ear and gave listeners on the other end an echo. It's also preferable to the speakerphone function of the cellphone.

This is a wonderful gadget -one of those nice to have, makes my life easy sort of things. I'm glad I own it.

UPDATE: The battery life is remarkable. It's been three months and I've only charged it once. Admittedly, I only turn it on to make or accept calls about once a week, but most rechargeable batteries discharge over time even without use. Still haven't found any problems with this product. Two thumbs up.

Want Jabra SP700 Bluetooth Speakerphone Discount?

I recently purchased the Jabra SP700 for my car and though I've had it for a few hours I can say this bad boy works. Myself and a couple of friends have been researching this item since we all recently purchased cars without the integrated bluetooth option that our previous company cars had (nnoooo.. :-(. We did a brief comparison test between the Jabra SP700 and the Motorola T505. Both items do it's job well but with one major caveat. The SP700 as a stand alone speaker and mic works great, better than the T505. But when you try connecting it to your radio via the FM modulator the sound is sub par. Do not buy this product if you primary intention is to stream your music or talk to people over your car's speakers. The T505 does a better job at transmitting the signal via it's FM modulator but as a stand alone talking device it does not.

Bottom line If you are looking for a stand alone bluetooth mic/speaker buy the SP700. If you are looking for an item that can stream music and allow you to talk over your car's speaker then buy the Motorola T505.

Bosch C3 Fully Automatic 4-Mode 6/12V Smart Battery Charger and Maintainer (3.8 Amps)

Bosch C3 Fully Automatic 4-Mode 6/12V Smart Battery Charger and MaintainerThe Bosch C3 battery charger is a "smart" charger, which detects the voltage of your battery and decides if it is 6V or 12V, and then charges accordingly. However, there is a very serious flaw here. What if your 12V car battery is heavily discharged to a voltage less than 6V?

Answer: the charger fails, it will NOT recharge your battery back to 12 Volts.

If your battery currently is discharged to less than 6 volts the C3 "smart" chip presumes that your battery is therefore only a 6V battery, and will charge it only to 6 Volts, not the 12 Volts which you need. There is NOTHING you can do to get it to charge to 12V if the charge has drained briefly to less than 6V, regardless of the age or quality of your battery. You are out of luck.

So, a great battery charger if you only need to "top it off", but it will fail you completly if you left your dome light on while away on vacation and then need to recharge back to 12V. That is what happened to me, and I had to go out and buy a different brand battery charger to recover the 12V charge in my perfectly good car battery.

Not worth it.

Chargers have come a long way since I was a new driver back in the 60's. The boxy chargers have been replaced with this modern device. They are no longer a shock hazard and much safer. No metal cabinet to rust. This unit is small and computer controlled with obvious advantages for both. It looks like it will last a lifetime with normal care. This sure makes the task of keeping you batteries in shape a simple task. I feel very safe using this over the old lead acid rechargers I grew up with. I still would use it with a ground fault protector just to be safe on wet floors or humid conditions, but it just looks and feels safer to me. I am happy to have this fine product from a great name, Bosch.

Buy Bosch C3 Fully Automatic 4-Mode 6/12V Smart Battery Charger and Maintainer (3.8 Amps) Now

I've had this charger for almost 2 years. At first I was quite impressed with the design and seemingly high quality. It did a good job charging a riding mower battery and car batteries. However, I quickly began to miss my old analog battery charger that was over 30 years old and had a quick charge function.

The "smart" functions interfere with some of the things I needed to do--charge a really drained 12V battery (it couldn't accurately determine whether it was a 6V or 12V), or charge a battery pack that was neither 6V nor 12V. Yes, I realize this a safety feature but I'm smart enough to know how to charge a battery correctly manually.

I've grumbled and put up with it (especially when it would go off when the power was cut and then not come on automatically), but I recently discovered it is no longer responding to the push button. I have to spend 5 minutes squishing or rubbing it in every direction before it apparently makes contact inside and changes the mode. Very very frustrating.

Here's the kicker: Although it has a 2-warranty, Bosch states, "The limited warranty further excludes normal wear and tear on parts and damage to fragile components (e.g. switches)." Seriously??? The ONLY moving part on this unit and it's fragile? Not worth the money if it's going to fail before 2 years.

Upon unboxing the Bosch Model C3 6.3/12.6 VDC Battery Charger, it is immediately evident that this is a high quality product characteristic of the Bosch name. The C3 is very compact compared to the old car battery chargers of the past. The charger is constructed of a high impact plastic and therefore not susceptible to rusting as were the old metal box chargers. All mode and status displays are on the front of the charger, as well as the single mode select button. The C3 is equipped with a heavy duty 120 VAC power cord as well as a durable DC charging cable. The DC charging cable is equipped with in inline disconnect, allowing the supplied insulated alligator clips to be left connected to the battery between charges. The DC charging cable is also equipped with an inline 10A automotive type fuse to provide short circuit protection to the C3 charger.

The Bosch C3 battery charger is microprocessor controlled and hence should be considered a "smart charger". The C3 is designed to the sense the charge state of the battery, as well as determine the appropriate charge rate. The C3 can provide a pulsed charging current of up to 3.5 A for deeply discharged batteries, as well as provide a low current trickle or maintenance charge. The C3 continuously monitors the battery charge state and automatically reverts from pulse to trickle charging when the battery is fully charged.

The Bosch C3 battery charger was tested on a moderately discharged Delco S2000 115 AH deep cycle battery. As expected, the C3 immediately switched to pulse charging, remaining in the pulse mode for approximately 7 hours before reverting to a trickle charge mode. The Bosch C3 battery charger performed flawlessly.

The 36 page Bosch C3 instruction manual is very well written and printed in 3 languages, English, French and Spanish. Bosch strongly emphasizes operating safety. The manual clearly addresses the potential for charging wet cell batteries to "off gas", thereby creating an explosive atmosphere. Therefore, the charger should never be connected or disconnected from the battery while the battery is charging. Bosch also cautions the user from operating the charger in wet conditions.

Bosch emphasizes that this charger is only designed to charge 6.3 or 12.6 VDC wet cell or gel cell rechargeable batteries. It is not designed to charge dry cell batteries.

The Bosch C3 Automatic Battery Charger is packaged with the C3 automatic charger, a battery charging cable equipped with a disconnect and an inline 10 A automotive fuse, red and black insulated heavy duty alligator clamps, a removable hanger and an operating manual. Bosch provides a generous 2 year limited warranty on parts and workmanship.

The Bosch C3 Automatic Battery Charger is a high quality product that should provide many years of reliable service when used in accordance with the supplied operating instructions. Although the C3 isn't designed for high current vehicle starting applications, it proves to be very versatile for many battery charging applications.

The only shortcoming found with the Bosch C3 charger is that the AC line fuse is internal and not field replaceable. Bosch might consider making the AC line fuse user replaceable in later production runs of this product.

I'm very pleased with this Bosch C3 Battery Charger, it's not your basic car battery charger because it's a "Smart Charger" it's computer controlled meaning it adjusts to the needs of the battery that's being charged. You do need to select the type of battery being charged, car, motorcycle or AGM but after that this charger takes control. If the charger senses a 12 volt battery is between 8 and 10.5 volts it automatically switches to pulse charging, this allows the battery to recover the best possible way enhancing the charging process for such a low condition. This is just one of the many computer controlled advantages of this type of battery charger.

I added the optional Bosch C35AC0 Quick Connect Cable Harness for C3 Battery Charger, it's a direct connect harness you can connect to your car or whatever battery that's installed. You simply plug the charger into the end of the harness, I have one in my sports car that's stored Winters, it makes it very simple to just leave the charger connected, once the battery is fully charged the Bosch C3 charger switches over to a trickle, when I want to use the car I just unplug the harness and drive away. I can't say enough about this great charger, buy one and you won't regret it!

Update: I found that chargers made by NOCO use the same plug and make many options for connecting to different application at a lower price. I'm guessing NOCO makes chargers for Bosch and use the same quick plugs. For the same price as Bosch's C35ACO quick connect harness the NOCO harness includes a battery monitor NOCO Genius GC015 12V Eyelet Battery Indicator

After 10 days the blue light started flickering on and off. The unit would charge an iPhone only if both cords were inserted but not if both were actually being used. If I plugged an iPad into the other cord, I got an error message that charging was not supported with this device. If I left the cord in and unplugged the iPad, it charged just fine. If I unplugged the 2nd cord I got the message again that charging isn't supported.

The best thing about this charger is the price. I am not out much.

NOCO Genius GEN3 12V+12V+12V 3-Bank 30 Amp Smart On-Board Waterproof Battery Charger

NOCO Genius GEN3 12V+12V+12V 3-Bank 30 Amp Smart On-Board Waterproof Battery ChargerRecently purchased this to replace a 2 bank 5 amp charger. Does everything as advertised. Leave it plugged in and walk away. If you are looking to buy a 3 bank charger for your boat, dont pay 300 or even 400 bucks for the ones at bass pro shops or cabelas. This one does everything the higher priced models do for 145 bucks. Obviously, durability is not known yet but if it lasts 5-10 years, I will be happy. As for the knucklehead who gave this a one star rating because it dont charge "36 volt" batteries, only "12"...........are you kidding me?? three 12 volt batteries make 36 volts!!! It charges all three at the same time......wow........

I've used this charger for a month now and love it. Last week I fished six 8 or 9 hours days straight and the charger worked flawlessly. All batteries were topped off in less than 4 hours.

Great product. Easy to install with the three leads to the batteries. No noise or hum in use. Wish I would have had this product before I over charged my batteries in the boat. I hooked this to the old charger leads and it works fine. If I want to super charge the batteries for a short period of time I turn on the old 80 amp charger.

iEssentials IESMPHFM iPod/iPhone Digital FM Transmitter with Car Charger-Speakers - Retail Packagin

iEssentials IESMPHFM iPod/iPhone Digital FM Transmitter with Car Charger-Speakers - Retail Packaging - BlackWhat I like about it:

1)Sleek design that matches exactly the style of my ipod touch

What I didn't like about it:

1)Slips out of the ipod rather easily because it lacks the little clips on the sides that some of these connectors have--very annoying.

2)The shaft of this connector that goes into the ipod wasn't long enough to connect properly after I put a rubber case protector on it. Not really the fault of this unit, but the reality is that most people will probably have a similar experience given that you buy this to use with your ipod in the car.

3)Not all channels are available, so if you find a clear channel on your car radio, it might not be available on this unit.

4)Does not scan automatically to find the next clear channel like some of the more expensive models do, so trying to get to a clear channel between this and your car stereo is at least as involved as texting while you drive. I don't recommend doing either. It's a royal pain when you're driving and you start getting interference.

To sum up, I decided to use an old cassette tape converter / connector instead. It makes a little noise due to the plastic gears spinning which is not ideal, but I usually only hear it between songs when no music is playing. (Maybe by now they've improved these and you can get one that doesn't have moving parts that make noise). That said, much better sound quality and not losing your signal and having to adjust your radio station and the station on the FM Transmitter while driving make it a much better option in my opinion.

I'm VERY disappointed with this product. I used it in the car and the transmitter piece was very loose and always fell out of my ipod, causing my ipod to fall down by my feet, under the the passenger seat, etc. while driving. Also, there is only one button on the transmitter to change the station, so if you go past the station you want, you have to keep holding it in until it gets back to the right one. And worse of all, after using this transmitter for about 2 months, it stopped working!!!!!!!!! Every 30 seconds it would turn itself off, so I had to keep pressing the button on the transmitter every 30 seconds. Talk about a p.o.s.! I definitely would NOT recommend this at all. I just bought the Griffin iTrip and I LOVE it! It's about the same price as this piece and works MUCH better!

Usually FM transmitters of this size lack in quality compared to some of the mount styles out there. This one has really good sound, quality, looks good, and its easy to use. It's really small and compact. The only NON-compact thing about it is the charging cable for the car. I just leave that thing in the glove compartment in case I want to charge my iphone while I listen to it. Otherwise it just works right off of the iphone power and its a self contained FM radio station. They really have a nice balance of price / look / simple use/ and MOST IMPORTANT: QUALITY!!! Awesome I recommend..

If you only need a charger, that is fine. FM trasmission does not work well, lots of background noise whenever you get a connection, very hard for radios to get connection with this device.... Also it had a loose fit so the phone releases itself often... Only good thing was the charging capability for the iPhone.

Want iEssentials IESMPHFM iPod/iPhone Digital FM Transmitter with Car Charger-Speakers - Retail Packagin Discount?

Delivery time was good, I got it quickly. The problems are that the reception is not the greatest, sound not the clearest but it's better than the radio

stations in my area! The biggest problem I have with mine is that it doesn't click into the Ipod firmly. I can pull it right out without having to press the sides so it often comes out of the Ipod if I hit a bump & the Ipod moves at all. I wasn't willing to pay $75 or more for one though so this is an OK cheaper alternative for occasional use. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who is travelling in the car alot.

Philips 12824WLEDX1 DayLight 8 High Powered Luxeon LED Daytime Running Light

Philips 12824WLEDX1 DayLight 8 High Powered Luxeon LED Daytime Running LightThese Philips LED DRLs are well built, bright, rugged, and the supplied harness and hardware are top notch. Heatsinking is excellent so the LEDs should remain bright for the life of the car. The LEDs on my units are also of matched tint with none appearing particularly warmer or cooler. Overall the tint is a cool white which goes well with HID headlights, but my halogen fogs look very yellow next to these. They are not as surprisingly bright as I was hoping for after reading the reviews here, but isn't that how it always is with high expectations. (EDIT: After 3 weeks in varying weather I can say they are satisfyingly bright. I find myself driving off at night forgetting to turn my headlights on since they do illuminate the road to a degree.)

Hookup is easy 3 wires: battery +/-, and one lead to a parking light. The control module has two excellent waterproof plugs that connect to the lights. The lights have sufficiently long wires with matching plugs at the end. All wire is protected by a gloss black vinyl tubing. The lead to the parking light was not long enough for my installation (control module mounted on center of firewall to left front park light).

The lights function by sensing change in battery load and automatically turn on. When the module senses the battery is in a steady state the lights turn off after ~10 seconds. This works well enough, but has some quirks. My car has delayed-off dome lights. So when I open the door and trigger the dome lights, the module senses the current and the DRLs turn on (no key in ignition). Not quite 10 seconds later the DRLs turn off (meanwhile my dome lights are still on). Then when my dome lights turn off, the module senses another change and turns the DRLs on again for 10 seconds. So while this could seem like a fancy convenience function of the DRLs, it is the consequence of the simplified hookup design. I do not find this objectionable except when the battery is connected to a charger that is cycling on and off and the lights are turning on/off as well. Personally I would have preferred wiring them to the ignition or the option to. As is when I approach the car and unlock the doors with my remote, the DRLs come on and help locate the car as well as illuminate the walk toward it not a bad thing. UPDATE: Upon installing a new battery I found the DRLs no longer turn on when I operate the remote. The old battery was tired and exhibited a larger voltage drop when the dome lights turned on whereas the new battery maintains voltage better and does not trigger the control module. The lights now turn on with the engine, but only with the engine. I believe this is how they were designed to function and my initial experience was due to a weak battery. If the lights begin to operate again with my remote I will know my battery is starting to weaken.

The LEDs dim when the park/headlights are on unless the park light lead is not hooked up. These are bright enough that oncoming drivers will be annoyed if they are not dimmed at night. The control module uses PWM dimming which is basically a superfast strobe. This is noticeable when waving your hand in front of them, but not when driving.

I measured the current to the system and it was 1.25 A on hi, and 110 mA when dimmed which figures to 16 and 1.4 watts. By contrast my two dome light bulbs draw 680 mA each or 17 watts for the pair, more than the DRLs on hi.

Depending on your vehicle, installation may be more involved that the 2 hr. estimate. My car (2003 Audi S6) has lower grilles which are not ideal for directly mounting these. I fabricated some brackets that bolted to the bumper support and secured the lights into openings I cut in the grilles (I uploaded a customer pic of the finished install).

If you do mount as suggested by screwing the frames to the car then snapping the lights into the frames, be advised it will be difficult to remove them. The frames are a strong spring steel and snap securely over the light housings in matching recesses. So once the light is snapped into the frame they are flush, and once in the frames the lights obstruct the mounting screws. Removing the lights would require prying the frames up to free the locking tabs something I'd rather not attempt. There is another suggested mounting option directly bolting them to the car via two M5 tapped holes in the back of the housings and not using the frames, but there are no M5 bolts included in the kit.

My car requires removal of the front end for certain engine maintenance. As such I wish there was also a disconnect plug at the lights and not just at the control box. Removal of the lights would require unplugging at the control box and feeding all the wire back through PITA. I ended up adding disconnects at the lights and making 2-piece mouting brackets so I could remove the lights, their frames, and part of the bracket easily as one unit without having to pry the lights out of the frames. When I added the disconnects I removed most of the excess wire and used some to extend the park light lead which was short.

The only non-OEM quality part in the kit is the connection for the lead to the park lights, a Scotchlok-style tap splice. I've had problems with corrosion over time with these, so I placed a blob of silicone in it before I squeezed it to encapsulate the connection.

Overall I am very satisfied with them and have confidence they will last. I would have liked the ability to disconnect the lights at the housings and a more disassembly-friendly design, but depending on your vehicle these may be non-issues. If you have an easy install or have the means regardless, these exude quality and will not disappoint. I rate it 5 stars for the quality of the components and for what it is a universal kit. Installed on my Audi they look and perform every bit OEM.

Just had these installed in my 2008 Infiniti G37. The lights look good and function more or less as advertised (come on bright, dim when other lights come on), but I also noticed the lights had a blinking duty cycle in dim mode when I stopped after 30 minutes of driving (see video). This is not documented, but is exactly as LAQ described. There must be a reason for this. My lights were professionally installed according to the directions.

Philips Automotive (248-553-9080) first advised the blinking was because the 3rd wire to enable dimming is connected to a circuit that has auto-on capability (my marker light, parking light or city light whatever you want to call it). Most modern vehicles have sensors to automatically turn on lights at night or in tunnels. Philip's advised this capability conflicts with the DRL's auto-dimming function; even during the daytime when the headlights don't come on! One or the other must be disabled. I removed this 3rd wire on the DRL leaving the DRL's permanently in their bright mode. UPDATE: Cutting the wire to the parking light had no effect the lights still blinked. After further discussion with Philips, they commented the Daylight 8 LEDs are designed in Europe and when installed on many North American vehicles the (voltage?) tolerances are not the same. They sent me a new control module (Alternative Control box ACC/KL15 starter)with one additional wire to a fuse box. Once installed again, the lights performed as advertised. I downgraded my rating from 4 stars to 3 stars as this issue was not documented and I was given incorrect advice the first time. Philips is not only aware, they have an alternate module ready this situation should be both documented and a warning to clients. I had to pay twice for the 2 installations and a lot of lost time debugging a known issue.

Philips attempted to make the connections idiot proof by utilizing a 2-wire control module with a voltage sensor to determine when the lights should change modes. Unfortunately it doesn't work for all vehicles so be forewarned. In my opinion, the traditional 3-wire connections to a fused relay is more complicated to install but gives predictable results.

I also note the lights are quite directional. Mine were installed to match the shape of the bumper which has a slight curve where mounted. Consequently they point a little bit to the side, perhaps 10 degrees. I don't consider this an issue as they are not the primary source of illuminating the road ahead of the vehicle. In fact it could be beneficial as they complement the front pointing projection lights.

They are bright and slim providing an even more modern look to my car.

Buy Philips 12824WLEDX1 DayLight 8 High Powered Luxeon LED Daytime Running Light Now

Based upon the glowing reviews for this product, I decided to make the investment in the LED DayLight 8 running lights for my new F-150 King Ranch. The product is well-made, lives up to all of the reviews, and the shipment was prompt and problem-free. Installation was relatively straight-forward, although the instructions for the wiring sequence were a little confusing and I hadn't anticipated the need to remove the entire headlight assembly to access the wire to the parking light. I was very pleased with the end result, until a few days later when someone on the street pointed out that the running lights were flashing on and off. It seems that after the vehicle runs about a minute, the running lights begin flashing...5 seconds on and 2 seconds off. It appears the control box may be overheating....which seems further supported by the fact that the flashing stops when the running lights are in "dim mode" when the headlights are on. Convinced a replacement control box would fix the problem, I called the Philips support number that is listed on the instructions and on the box the running lights came in. This phone number is for the household lighting division, which is totally unfamiliar with this product. They transferred me to the automotive division...which appears to only be able to help consumers identify which replacement light bulbs to buy for their vehicles. After several circular conversations it became evident that Philips was unable / unwilling to help me....to the point that it seemed they had never heard of this product. These results are very disappointing. The LED Daylight 8 running lights were a great addition to my truck and I am very frustrated that after spending over 2 hours to install them, I now have to uninstall them tonight so that UPS can pick them up tomorrow to return Amazon. Since I'm not willing to invest the time for another installation with potentially similar results, I didn't request a replacement set.

This product is indeed of the highest quality. The frame is (as far as I can tell) aluminium, the lens is glass, and has the DOT mark. The light pattern from each of the eight LEDs is designed well, projecting the light forward in a narrow beam as viewed from the top, yet projecting a very tall beam as viewed from the side. The mounting brackets appear to be high strength, hardenned steel very rugged. The electronics work perfectly, just as advertised and are encased in a steel box (looks water tight as well). As soon as the car turns on, the DRL come on. When you turn on the car's running lights, the DRL immediately dim. When you turn off the car, the DRL waits about 20 seconds and then turns off. I'm quite sure the LED's are pulse width controlled, meaning the control box is more complex than just a relay switch, and I'm sure this contributes to both the brighness and longevity of the DRL.

The other great attribute of this product is its slim profile. The DRL is ~17mm high ( less than 3/4"). Compared with all the other DRL I saw on the market, this seems to be the thinnest.

The lights themselves are *very* bright, easily seen in broad daylight. Phillips clims a 10000hr liftime which is way beyond the life of the car assuming an average speed of 30mi/hr, the DRL should last 300,000 miles.

Bottom line: I'm happy with the product, it was well worth the premium over other products available in the market.

Had these lights installed last week on my 2011 Infiniti g 25. They installed in about 1 hour, simple and easy to do for most people. I had purchased a diffenent brand in October and after the first storm had water and condensation behind the lens. These Phillips lights are real quality and I have had lots of comments form friends and the sales person where I purchase the car, infact they will probably purchase the same light themselves. They are much brighter then I thought they would, very visable in daylight and they dim to a beautiful accent light when I turn on the headlights. I did a lot of research before I finally settled on these lights and it paid off. Don't buy the cheaper lights out there or imitations because you will just have to replace them quickly and sooner then you want. These are quaility, bright, and easy to install. Highly recommended

P3 Platinum Negative (-) Battery Terminal Tri-Oval

P3 Platinum Negative Battery Terminal Tri-Oval
  • Terminal type: Negative
  • Style: Tri-Oval
  • Finish: Simulated Platinum
  • Outputs: 1 x 4 AWG, 1 x 8 AWG, and bolt for ring terminal

The hole in not cut into a cone as the posts on most batteries are shaped. The hole is a perfect cylinder. This means when you slip this terminal onto the post, only the bottom edge of the terminal makes contact with the battery post. Not only will there be less surface area for current to flow through, but there exists the possibility the terminal will slide off the battery post. When I tightened the screw, I was able to twist off the terminal. The positive terminal fits better, so I may have just received a lemon.
