Battery Disconnect Switch with Key

I wanted a cost-effective way to turn off my battery power to my RV, and this seemed to fit the bill. I especially liked the fact that it has a weather cover when the key is not inserted, and when it was, the boot also kept the weather out.

Well I drilled the necessary holes in the battery box cover and made the installation, hooking up the battery leads last and then installing the cover back onto the battery box. That was it! Works beautifully. I put a keep string to tie the key on to the RV when it is being used, as I don't want to risk losing the key.

Product came in quickly and is doing its job but not without an issue. When I initially installed it, it would not cut the power off to my RV. After breaking the nuts loose to take it out I decided to check one last time and it was working. Re-tightened the nuts was not working again. Apparently, if you "over-tighten the nuts it will cause this to malfunction and not cut the power off as it should. Not sure why but, this was my experience.
