The key looks just like the factory original. It was very easy to program. It did not come with directions, but it came with a phone number to the company's support service. They were very quick to e-mail me directions. As far as programming, it took no more than a minute. I have been using it for about a week now and have had no problems whatsoever. This would certainly appear to be the original factory remote. It has the proper numbers on the back, and looks just like the factory original. It programmed up just like it should have (which is so easy to do on these trucks), and works perfectly. There's really not much more to say other than I'm glad I bought here and saved a ton of money over the dealer!

Fuses for 12VDC can not have much drop across the fuse because the battery (fully charged) is 12.8 VDC and the battery is considered "drained" at 10.5 VDC. That's only 2.3 V of drop in your entire system including wires, connectors, fuses, and the battery. It's better if you have an alternator and engine running but they'll give you 124A or so while the battery can deliver 1000 amps. At 1000 watts constant power you will pull 115 Amps that leaves you with 0.02 ohms for your entire wiring system to run 1000W with a charged battery and 2.3 V drop. If your battery is running low, consider it more like 0.01 ohms of max system loss. If your engine is on up at 14VDC you get some slack so long as your alternator battery link is good.

You still need a fuse in the system though because the alternatives working with these power levels are arcwelding.

These high current fuses are optimal for such systems. For 1000W consider a minimum of 150 amps or possibly a 200 amp fuse. The clear plastic covers protect the screwdown terminals from stray metal and let you get a visual on the fuse status should it blow (it won't be pretty if it does blow stopping a 115A DC current is going to produce a nasty arc and will also leave smoke inside the cover no problem telling if the fuse blew!

A little secret if you wonder why it is so hard to stop high power (200+ amps) DC and easy with AC it's that with 60Hz AC the voltage is exactly zero 60 times per second and usually stops on its own, so your arc lasts for a maximum of 1/60th second and with a sine wave source it naturally tapers down to zero where it stops. DC will go on forever if the gap isn't large enough.

I bought this to be a fuse between a set of batteries and my inverter that powers a subpanel at my house for back-up capabilities. The casing and ANL fuse holder worked as intended. I was using 2 guage welder cable with a large 1/2" ring adapter. The fuse holder had no problems closing down over the connector and wire. It is nice beign able to see the fuse indicator as well to see if I had a problem or surge. This device gives me a peace of mind when it comes to saving my very expensive xantex prosine 2.5 from overloading on the DC side.

The cost is low and the feeling of safety is great. The plastic didnt' seem overly cheap and the stainless nuts and washers seemed quality. Very happy with the purchase.

holds the fuse, plastic cover a little brittle, needs a good amount of force to snap cover on, it is not water tight, looks good

Product as described and fits Raptor RANL2002 200 Amp ANL Fuses perfectly. It is a little bulky, but does it's job. You WILL need something to help insulate or fill in the gap between the wire and case on the ends as shown in the picture. I would also suggest some sealant of some kind to keep the case closed tightly and sealed; especially if not in a waterproof area. And if used correctly, it should be within 3 ft of the battery anyway.

Recently the price on inverters (esp true sine) has dropped quite a bit (there are two xantrex 1000 watt units the older 750 buck one and now the $200-$300 price one). Xantrex has a wonderful reputation. I own this inverter along with their older model (pro-sine) and also the new entry from sunforce (yes I have alot of 1000w inverters).

I also have alot of 1000w loads. In particular is my favorite testload a 1050 w (with motorthe heating element is 1000w exactly but it has a blower that consumes 50w so technically its a tad high).

With this dummy load both of my xantrex inverters will run it all day or until the battery bank dies whichever comes first. They draw about 110-115 amps on the 12vdc lines.

The sunforce 1000w inverter CAN NOT run this load for more than 2 seconds without an output overload shutdown. But I still like the sunforce because it can handle 900W and it has an RF keychain remote on/off switch.

The point is Xantrex products are clean, reliable power, while other knockoffs (compare sunforce's 1K and this one and guess who coppied who) are not up to being a real 1K unit. If anyone wants a demo my email is in my profile i'd be happy to film the two side by side on optima D31 blue top batteries and even give the sunforce the running head start with the fresh charge on the cells 2 seconds and it will shutdown. Yes, i know 1050 watts is over 1000w, but the xantrex will drain the batteries before they complain of anything else runing the heatgun.

This is the leading brand in inverters today. Their new product line offers 3x the value of their older units without sacrificing quality or stability. It's a real value in high power inverters. Unfortunately, xantrex moved their mfg overseas and the quality suffered from more than one report. We no longer use this model, but for an apples to apples comparison against offshore mfg inverters, xantrex still has a better design to begin with = better product to ship back to the usa

I'm not running much off this device and the thing that strikes me is that the cooling fan only turns on when a certain temperature is reached. So for small loads, it's very quiet because the fan has no need to turn on. Previous experiences with inverter default to the fan being on and they are often very noisy.

The sine wave seems to be clean. After trying this, I'll never go back to modified sine waves for devices remotely designed to work with sine waves. Otherwise, I'll just go with the cheap square wave inverters.

I plan on buying another unit in the future.

So far I returned (3) inverters (1)Power Bright PW400, (2)Tripp Lite PV1000 because the output voltage was to low (89-95volts). Fluorescent light would not be as bright,fan would not come up to speed and I"m sure this was not good for motors. Had this one for (3) days (Xantres Prowatt SW 1000) and am very satisfied with it. Output voltage is 124 volts, lights are bright motors are running up to speed And my running amps are lower. I don't know whether this unit is just made better or if its because its a pure sine wave inverter or both but it puts the other inverters I tried to shame.

I bought this about two months ago. So far I only use about 250 watts everyday 6-7 hours run time) and have had no issues at all. I bought this inverter for long power failures. I wanted a way to keep my fridge running overnight when I can't run my generator (out of consideration for my sleeping neighbors). At first it failed to start the fridge using 8ga jumper cables on a set of golf cart batteries. I ditched the jumpers and hard wired it to the batteries using proper connectors and 2ga wire. After that it ran the fridge fine. The nameplate on the fridge says 1320watts, using a meter I found it to peak around 1200w with an avg continuous load of 250w. I've only run it for about 8hrs so no word on longevity, but it appears to be a well made unit based on fit and form.

We bought two sets of these radios for a family cruise. The reception was pretty good throughout the whole ship. The only time it was static'y was if one radio was on a lower deck at one end of the ship and the other radio was on an upper deck at the opposite end. When they are outside with few obstructions, there is no static at all. We would buy them again.

works good and very durable. but apparently battery life is bad in cold weather, which ruins why i got them (snowboarding). the meter drops to the half notch immediately even when fully charged when you hit freezing weather.

they still work though and work fine, but it becomes hit or miss. i still used them on the slopes and they lasted all day (all day on the slopes for me is just a message here and there ever half hour or so when people get split up, so no real intenstive conversations). but i have had periods where they ended up shutting off by the end of the day.

i should have known that though knowing its nimh batteries, but oh wells, so not the fault of the radio or manufacturer. sound is great, reception is great, and didn't have a problem on large mountains in high power mode.

but i guess these will become warm weather driving or hiking radios, and i will still have to pick up a set of li-ion radios for snowboarding.

Raising my review to 4 stars, since i used these for camping and they worked great, and realized the nimh cold battery issue wasn't the product's fault. Still a little large, and prefer smaller cobras with lithium batteries instead.

Last year while mushroom hunting I got lost. There I was deep in the deep dark woods utterly lost with my wife and nothing on me but a knife and a bag of mushrooms. Lesson learned. However, when I used the car outlet power adapter it worked fine. However, the transmitter has to be extremely close to the antenna. It worked fine in my compact commuter car. It did not work well with my MDX SUV as the antenna was way in the back of the vehicle. I had ordered two of these items since they were so cheap. I tried both items with the same result. Let me start out by saying this device works as it says it should, without fail (so far).

Installation woes: I am a pretty big gear head, and working with an automotive fuse box isn't something that usually bothers me. The instructions left me guessing where to connect the wires, and while I ended up getting it right the first time, luck had a good amount to do with it.

They also don't give you enough wire for a fuse box located in the trunk of the car.

This is device I needed to:

1) get rid of the hanging wires for my FineVu CR-500HD that was plugged into cigarette lighter

2) be able to use Parking Mode on the FineVu CR-500HD when the car is left on the street (useful for recording suspicious faces around your car or when someone does hit-and-run while you are in a parking garage)

First of all make sure to get a good circuit tester (Amazon sells heavy-duty circuit tester) and two add-a-circuit kits (search for Littelfuse FHA200BP ATO Add-A-Circuit Kit). The tester will make finding correct fuse sockets a breeze and the add-a-circuit kits really help when you don't have unused sockets and/or your car has low-profile mini-fuses (they are a very hard to work with in tight spaces).

I use the Power Magic Pro with a Blackvue 500GW-HD dash cam and it works like a champ.

I have it set to 12 volts and 48 hours and it has been working flawlessly.

Installation is obvious and extremely simple constant 12v, Ignition 12v and Ground. The other 2 wires are to power your device 12v and Ground. Configuration is likewise very easy.

The only thing I would change is the cheap on/off switch, but other than that it's a great device.

I bought this product and so far it has performed all the advertised functions without a hitch.

I currently have it set up in the default mode of record for 6 hrs after the vehicle has been turned off or the voltage drops below 11.8.

For what you get though i think the price is on the higher side, and I think that the manufacturers are thinking that if a consumer is willing to pay 300 bucks on a dash cam $40 is a drop in the bucket. Not really sure but the price could be lower, in my opinion.

I bought a couple of "Add a Fuse" (aaf) kits to install this in my fuse box. This is not necessary but I preferred a clean installation. I placed one aaf in a Accessory (ACC) fuse port and the other in a port which always had power from the battery even with the car is off (hazard light, park light, etc...).

One recommendation for a future unit would be to add a temperature probe. This would be helpful as when I park the car in the sun and Parking mode is activated the DVR unit starts to malfunction and corrupt the SD card in direct sun light. Having a temp probe could cut power to the unit if the temperature in side the vehicle exceeded a set amount.

Apart from that this is a great product if you would like to use Parking Mode on your DVR.

This device does exactly what it's supposed to and I am very happy with it.

You need to know your way around your cars electrical system to wire this up though. In my c-class mercedes there is a fuse box located in the trunk and I wired it to two fuses, an "always on" fuse and an "on with the key" fuse. Well I found out that the Mercedes cuts power to the entire fuse box after about an hour of turning off the car so I ended up wiring the always on directly to the car battery.

So you may have to deal with little annoyances like that depending on your car but the product works great.

I bought this so I would have another car charger for my Garmin nuvi 1390. My Garmin gets its power from a standard USB Mini which both the car charger and wall AC charger provide.

When I plugged my Garmin into the car charger my Garmin nuvi 1390 thought it was connected to a computer at first. It then figured it out and came on. While that would be a little annoying it's not the real problem.

When I had my Garmin plugged into the car adapter it would run for a few minutes,then it would go off, then come back on for a few minutes, then go off, then come back on ... Anyway you get the picture.

I haven't decided if I'm going to try to return. The shipping cost more than the item did.

Got what I expected for a good price. When it arrived, I was surprised how light the package was and wondered about the quality. However it all has worked flawlessly. The AC charger is very handy to charge it up before a trip, or for a walking trip. The car charger is a back-up. You should be aware that when you use it, you loose the traffic feedback for the NUVI 1350 since the FM receiver is integrated into the original car charger and it is not included in the one that comes with this package. But the price is right!

On the plus side, product was received in a very timely manner, and was exaclty as pictured.

Unfortunately, these are NOT Garmin chargers. These are USB chargers. When used with the Garmin Nuvi, all they do is cause the Nuvi to cycle through the computer syncing mode over and over. The battery does not charge, and you cannot use the Nuvi to navigate.

I have contacted the seller but have not heard back from them. If you have a USB phone or other device that does charge using a USB port delivering USB voltage, then these items will have other uses around your home.

But if, like me, you wanted to be able to charge and program your Nuvi at home, and have a spare 12V cord for a second vehicle, DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM.

I gave my dad the Garmin GPS as a gift and threw this in as almost an afterthought when it popped up on Amazon as one of the "Items most often purchased" list. I thought, for such a cheap price, what's to loose? I guess in this case there was little to gain, because these apparently worked for a while but the home plug in has long since stopped working. I guess that is the gamble you make in buying cheaper, off brand products. My requirement for this product was being able to export GPS tracking logs and the HD camera. Honestly, having two cameras was a bonus.

Good:

1. This product was very easy to use and install. It will start when it senses power on and will automatically shut down after power-off. Minor issue was the device initially powered on with Russian as its default language, so there was some difficulty in understanding the on-screen dialogs.

2. The proprietary program does a good job of exporting the videos and a Google Earth KML file of the track logs.

3. The fields of view are quite wide and clear at the edges.

Bad:

1. The proprietary viewer program is the real downfall of this device, especially as exporting is the requirement. The camera will format the SD card and then install the viewer program onto the card, which will then allow viewing the files. However, the program requires a minimum 4 GB card and will format it with a hidden partition, which is where all of the data is stored. Thus, the proprietary program is the only way to get to the data.

2. The micro SD form factor is difficult to find suitable cards locally and even harder to keep track of.

3. There are two cameras on this unit, one facing forward and one facing the interior of the car. Each captures a 640x480 image and this device is "HD" only in the sense that both images displayed together make it HD. Thus, the saved, exported output is only an AVI file with its own manipulation problems.

Improvements / Wish List:

1. Get rid of the proprietary program and allow generic output formats.

2. Improve the GPS system such that an external antenna is no longer required. This is problematic in final installation with hiding the cable.

Bottom line:

I would recommend this device, given it limitations, and rate it at only three stars because of that proprietary program limitation. Otherwise, the device meets my requirements.

I got this item 3months ago but display time does not match with zone even you set as local time.

i called 4 times to fix it but never inform to me answer but tried avoid issue. this item is designed to use in China area not in USA. so do not waste your money ($100).

Adding to the last review, I figured a way to extract the video files off the SD card. The video files are AVI and stored in a "unseeable" partition that windows will not display. Using a free file recovery software ( I used TestDisk ), I was able to pull all the videos off the disk. The are stored in 2min blocks, with numbering that increases.

Overeall this unit works great for what I need it for. The windshield suction cup mount is huge and in my opinion, is a vision impairment so Im working on a "homemade" mount that will put it up by the rear-view mirror and out of the way.

I have one of these from the late 1990s and it still works great. I like it so much I bought another recently.

It died after only 2 days -I tried to read a tire with about 8 psi and it showed "-0.0" on the display. After this, all it would do is show the same thing "-0.0".

So I exchanged it for another one. Sure enough, it worked for dozens of readings, until a few days later I again tried to read a tire with about 8 psi in it. Once again, it will only show "-0.0" after that.

My guess is this is a firmware problem with the new units.

It worked fine until the battery died. Then I found out that's designed to be disposable. I actually disassembled the unit and got a battery from Radioshack, but oh surprise, the unit didn't work anymore.

Don't buy disposable units. Pay a little bit more and get something that will work for many years.

Piece of junk. Won't fasten onto the tire's valve stem just releases the air from the tire and doesn't register the pressure (that used to be there). I've purchased several items via Amazon.com, and this is the only one that's been a big disappointment.

After buying a lot of inaccurate tire gauges (especially the digital ones), we found a review on Consumer Reports that recommended this one. Bought 3 -all 3 gave the same tire pressure when I tried them out on a tire. Accidentally dropped one on the pavement, then it flipped into the sand/gravel. Blew the sand out of the nozzle and it worked just fine. I don't recommend dropping it into the sand of course, but CR did say it held up well to being dropped and that seems to be true.

I have had this gauge for a couple of years but had noticed significant differences between it and other gauges. This is definately a heavy duty unit all around. No wimpy cables, clamps or switches here. I expect to get good use from this unit for many years. It is great to add to my emergency road & vacation gear, so often handy in these New England winters. Especially nice are the extra long cables that allow maximum applications with ease. It would have been thoughtful to have included a ball/mattress inflator needle as one fits on the compressor connection perfectly. I had a spare & added it. The tire inflator screws onto the tire stem so no match-up problems are encountered. This definately is not a wanna-be, its a real tool & it could save your life (or at least possible frostbite).

I was excited! Got my battery charger in about five (5) days; I plugged in the unit, according to the instruction manual, to charge-up for 72 hours. You can't imagine my disappointment after waiting so long only to find-out that the units' "charged" light wouldn't light up. So now I'm stuck with this thing and have to initiate a fix for this thing. What compicates this process is that it's a. heavy b. hazardous material protcol c. by the time I get any re-solution on this it will be Spring! Should have gone to Sears!! Can't blame Amazon really...just the manufacter.

Bought this unit 13 months ago. Followed the initial charging instructions exactly, and recharged periodically as directed in the manual. Used the unit twice, once to start my car and the other time to add some air to my tires. After only 13 months the unit won't hold a charge. It came with only a 90 day warranty so it's going in the trash. Stay away from this charger.

I purchased this unit 3 months ago. From day 1, the door that holds the air hose will not stay closed which is annoying, but not a deal-breaker. Next, when charging, the 12V charger melted inside the unit which I had to remove with needle nose pliers. The battery also dies quickly just sitting in the back of my trunk and the alarm is annoying if you're driving on the highway with nowhere to pull over every couple of weeks.

Finally, I tried to use the unit for it's intended purpose, jump starting a car with a dead battery. The unit was completely charged, connected and switched on, cranked the ignition and not even a peep. Checked the unit again and it was dead.

Amazon won't let you return the unit, so we'll see if Peak will send a replacement unit and if there will be a charge.

For the price of this unit, it should be much better made. Knowing what I do now, I would have purchased a different product.

I bought one of these in april 2011.

I tryed to use it about 6 months ago to start my diesel truck. It would not do it, I figured that was because the truck takes 2 batteries to start it.

I tried to start a 2004 Grand Pre yesterday with this and it would not work well enough to start the car. I called AAA and they came out with their unit ( slightly smaller ) and thiers had no problem starting the car. I had all but one of the battery charge indicator lights lite. When I tried it on the truck it was freshly / fully charged.

I will have it tested but for now I fell it is NOT RELIABLE.
