This item's price stays at list rather than getting discounted like the Accutire equivalent. (I bought mine because the Accutire one was "no longer available", and I wanted to try this form factor in case they were discontinuing it.) If you want a Michelin logo, go for it. But perhaps you might buy the Accutire one AND buy a cute little Michelin Brand 12273 "Michelin Man" Digital Tire Gauge with the savings!

I should have read the customer reviews before ordering this "Gold Box Deal" Michelin Tire Gauge. Just as other one star reviews also reported, the gauge arrives with dead batteries. New batteries also will die within very short order because the Michelin tire gauge autos on and off. If left in your car (where else would you keep it?) the simple act of motoring about will jiggle the on-off switch enough to quickly drain the batteries.Read Best Reviews of Michelin MN-12279 Digital Programmable Tire Gauge with Light Here
When it comes to dealing with cars, I am a newbie. I don't know how to measure tire pressure. When I saw this, I thought it can't get simpler and ordered it. So, recently when I got a chance to use it, it was easy to get the tire pressure easily. However, the problem is the inside tip of this device which is pushed against the tire valve is broken. The real problem is that the tire value has a metal needle and this tire gauge has a plastic nozzle and when you try to push the gauge tight against the valve, it can easily break and that's what happened to me.Want Michelin MN-12279 Digital Programmable Tire Gauge with Light Discount?
The basic functions of the unit are good. It reads tire pressure accurately to 1/10ths of a pound which is much more accurate and better than most standard pressure gauges. However its programmable functions are unnecessarily complicated and its too easy to change key settings during normal pressure checks which is a huge flaw. You should not be able to, while checking tire pressure, to be able to accidentally change between PSI and BAR readings. Which is exactly what happened to me the second time I used the unit. This basically rendered the unit useless and without the instructions at hand there was no comprehensible labeling or buttons on the unit to change back.In retrospect I would have purchased one of the more accurate clock type pressure gauges instead of this digital model because of its ridiculous complexity and inscrutable interface. I cannot recommend this unit you shouldnt have to read 10 pages of small type to use the basic functions of a tire pressure gauge, digital or not.
