I never trust the factory ESC so I replace the ESC and Add a CC UBEC. This is cheap compared to a new aircraft.Read Best Reviews of Castle Creations CC Bec Pro 20A 12S Switching Regulator Here
Excellent product from Castle. You only need a Y harness if you don't have two receiver channels I'm currently using it with a Hitec Optima 7 (1&5 ail, 2 elevator, 3 ESC, 4 rudder, 6&7 BEC). It is pretty large in size, but is fully configurable with the CastleLink programmer. Only issue was the slow fulfillment, but I was building the plane slowly so it wasn't a big issue.Want Castle Creations CC Bec Pro 20A 12S Switching Regulator Discount?
A year and many flight. Best way to not lose control when the ECC goes bad. Castle Creations is one of the bestPROs: The unit is light and can easily be programmed with a Castle Link which sold separately. It saves weight and space without using an extra battery pack. It uses the same battery as the ESC does. The instruction came with the unit for installation is clear and very detail in anyway.CONs: The unit is a little beefy/bulky. You need to have a "Y" harness in order to connect it to receiver with 7 channel or less.
