Motorola V195 Car Charger (T-Mobile)

Motorola V195 Car Charger
  • COMPATIBILITY: Motorola SLVR L2/L6/L7, Motorola V323/V325, Motorola V360, Motorola Q, Motorola V190/V195, Motorola RIZR Z3, Motorola V3 Razr series, KRZR K1..

I broke my old car charger by slamming it in the glove box door (not on purpose, by accident). At first I just tried to fix it by using electrical tape and so on, but nothing worked so finally I purchased this car charger and another one as well because you never know when you'll slam your glove box door on one of them and break it. I am totally happy with both of the chargers!

Red Battery Cable Firewall Feed-Thru Panel Terminal Connector

Red Battery Cable Firewall Feed-Thru Panel Terminal ConnectorI had to move the battery from the front of the car to the trunk due to changing engine. Item worked great, was exactly as described, and arrived in a timely manner.

These appear to be quality units. They allow a convenient method of passing heavy cables through the firewall, or any panel. The one issue I have is the lack of availability of a properly shaped panel punch. I have cut the flat sided mounting holes the old fashioned way with hand tools which is time intensive and only approximate in shape. I have yet to locate the right punch for this job.

All in all, these provide a good way to pass heavy electrical (battery) cables through the firewall, or any panel. I would purchase again.

Autel MaxiScan MS409 OBD-II/EOBD Scanner

Autel MaxiScan MS409 OBD-II/EOBD ScannerI bought the scanner back in Feb 10, 2009. The plastic and rubber parts of the unit look and feel cheap but I didn't mind because the manual and menus are easy to follow. I used it on two occasions for reading and erasing a code in my car. After that, it just died failing to turn on even with a fresh 9v battery. I emailed support@auteltech.com and sales@auteltech.com for warranty support back in June and a few days ago but I still have to receive a single reply. Sending them an email requires one to fill out an Excel spreadsheet form where one can enter the details about the unit and the vehicle that's being scanned. The form asks for a serial number but there are no serial number markings on the unit itself---maybe it's electronic but then the unit is dead. All the contact info on Autel's website lists a location and phone numbers in China only.

Your driving down the road when you notice that bright orange or red light just lit up on the dash.

Now you start to wonder hmmm did I forget to tighten the gas cap or heck is the car even safe to drive, what do you do?

Well you can go to a dealer and let them tell you yeah you didn't tighten the cap and that will be $50.

Or

You get one of these babies and when the light comes on you pull off to a safe area and just plug it in. This model has not only the code number but what the code means in plain English a big plus no books to have look up stuff in its right there on the screen.

Also you can clear the code once your realize its the cap and save yourself that $50!

What if its something serious? Well now you know to call road side assistance and get that vehicle into a shop before some serious damage happens.

Another feature I like is it can be upgraded from the web and it also has the CAN protocol for the newer cars.

We had to turn around on a trip to Disney to get help when the light came on because we didn't know it was OK to drive. Turned out to be a bad spark plug wire and couple of wraps of electrical tape we were off again, and when we got home we could get the new wires.

The back lighting is nice for when its dark under the dash and the fact it will store the code for you comes in handy when you are inside and cant remember that code # again.

Vin numbers can be checked on certain model cars so you can see if the computer has been swapped out.

Now one thing I wish it would do is print, it has a USB cable to let you upgrade the software but how hard would it be to make it print the stored data?.

All in all its well worth the cost since you will make that money back in savings the first time you use it!

Hi All,

I got this item very quickly, ordered Friday recieved on Monday with AMAZON PRIME. I bought this because of an intermittent engine light in my 2006 Acura TL MT, (it comes on about every other day). After reading some of the other reviews here the first thing I did was to look at the device info and write down the serial number, software number, etc. all stored electronically. I just ran a diag and it came back with a code that seems to be correct. P2138Throttle / Pedal Position Sensor / Switch D/ E Voltage Correlation. This is something that has failed in my car when it was still in warranty. The scan began and finished in about 1 minute or less. The build doesn't seem cheap, it just looks like it's made to take a beating, like it's sturdy enough to take a few falls/drops. I am very satisfied with the purchase and I believe since I only payed $51, it has already paid for itself in one scan. I can't speak for the software CD or updating because I ran my test with the device straight out of the box and didn't use the supplements. I read reviews on random forums concerning this model/type scanner and all were satisfied, as I am too.

Thinking about it? This is a great price. There are cheaper builds for about $40, but they are reviewed as too cheap. I've only seen one other scan tool for $50 that is OBD2/CAN and it was a bluetooth device but it had no reviews. This has it's own memory to store your codes after a diag run, and it also reads out generic and manufacture specific codes.

Scanner was just as advertised. Great deal for the money. I was trying to diagnose a problem with my Toyota

Prius. Unfortunately, Toyota has some proprietary codes that are not defined by this Scanner (or any other outside

of Toyota's service department).Otherwise a great value...

Powerline By Original Power 0900-78 140/200-Watt Pivoting Inverter with USB Charging Port

Powerline By Original Power 0900-78 140/200-Watt Pivoting Inverter with USB Charging PortI purchased this item at Wal-mart while on a business trip. I left my charger for my GPS at home and the GPS uses a mini-usb charging port. It worked perfectly for the GPS which draws a very small amount of power. I then used it with my laptop which uses a 70 watt adapter, well below the rated 140 watts. The unit fried in less than an hour. It burned out two fuses in my car. I foolishly tried it in a second cigarette outlet after it blew the fuse in the first one.

The unit smelled of burned electrical circuitry. I thought that perhaps I just got a defective unit until I read a review on Amazon about another Powerline brand inverter where the customer had the same experience with two units.

The unit is very compact and light. It easily fits into my computer bag and is 1/3 or less the weight of the typical converter. In that respect the unit is perfect but don't expect it to last long running a laptop. If they make it more durable for a laptop or any device pulling over 50 watts, this would be a great item.

I bought it from Walmart. I was playing music in my car for about 2 hours with the engine off. I then decided to plug the inverter into the cigarette lighter to charge my iPhone. When I connected the iPhone via the USB port, I could smell the unit burning and it blew the 20 amp fuse for the cigarette lighter/radio.

A few days later I opened the unit and I could see some type of white frothing that looked like whip cream but it was hard. I could not tell if this occured when the unit was frying since the smell was gone. The unit has a 25 amp fuse which was still intact which explains why the current by passed it and blew my car's 20 amp cigarette lighter fuse.

I think the amps on this should be less than that of cigarette lighters so that the unit should burn out first. I am no electrician but I believe this could start a fire starting at the unit.

Works great, powers whatever. The fan built-in keeps it cool and working strong. The fan noise can get a little high when drawing power from both ports, but it's worth it!

Kenwood System-H2EC Sirius Here2Everywhere Satellite Radio Tuner with Car Docking Kit

Kenwood System-H2EC Sirius Here2Everywhere Satellite Radio Tuner with Car Docking Kit
  • Here2Everywhere satellite tuner and car docking kit for receiving Sirius satellite radio
  • Picks up 65 commercial-free music streams and 50 sports, news, and entertainment streams
  • 5 search modes (stream, artist, song, preset, or genre); 30 station presets and 24-song memory/recall bank
  • Includes car docking cradle, windshield docking base, cigarette lighter adapter, and remote control
  • Includes wireless FM transmitter; tuner measures 4.5 by 2.91 by 1.18 inches (W x H x D)

I chose the Kenwood because of the look (sleek, blue screen) and reputation of their other products. This product does not live up to their standards. I was really disappointed, and here's why:

When I received the unit, I started with the in-home docking station. I hooked it up right away and basic set-up was easy. You'll know right away whether you can get a signal from the satellite on channel 184 before you subscribe. The instructions about antenna placement was clear... it needs a clear view toward the midwest. That was a problem in my house because of its layout, orientation, and trees on the property. The signal from the satellite was weak and cut out from time to time. The antenna wire was not long enough for my home layout--windows provided too weak a signal, and the roof was out of the question. Eventually, I moved everything around the house until I found a sweet spot. What an ordeal, already.

Second, the FM modulator was very weak. I tried to tune in my home stereo to the freq on the sirius and found that the sirius tuner had to be within one foot of my receiver to get any signal, and then it was weak. With the hard wires--the RCA plugs into AUX on the home stereo--sound was clear and loud. Music at last!

I tried the car kit, and found that the satellite reception was weak there too (here a signal, there a signal and in between... silence). It changed dramatically as I drove across town. The placement of the sirius unit in the car was critical. I tried it on the front of the dash, on the console, in the passenger seat, and all over the windshield. There was only one position in the car where the sirius could talk to the receiver, and that was low-center of the wind shield. Everywhere else was nothing but static. Even in this "sweet spot" I got a poor, static filled signal. Changing freq was easy, but didn't help. No problems with interference from other stations, since there are few in my area.

I was even disappointed with the display. The blue was nice, but the station info was more than could fit and the scrolling was distracting. Changing the setting for display size didn't help: there are two settings for the screen: big and really big. (Audiovox screen for example shows more info on one screen without the need to scroll).

My wife experienced how wonderful and trouble-free Sirius can be with an "older" Streamer, so I'm going to stick with this service and try a different tuner.

The Kenwood is going back.

Buy Kenwood System-H2EC Sirius Here2Everywhere Satellite Radio Tuner with Car Docking Kit Now

Nice setup for the sale price. At full price I'd try something else first. I have the home kit as well as the car kit.

The good:

The unit itself is a nice piece of hardware and the suction cup for car mounting is excellent. The extra 12VDC power cord to hard wire into your car is a nice touch as well. I have had no reception problems at all and the receiver stays relatively cool compared to others.

The bad:

I have a hard time reading the display due to the blue light. I thought it would be easy to see but I cannot see it well, there is just not enough contrast. ( Yes, I have 20/20 vision) The scrolling display is also not easy to read in either size. I would prefer good old amber or green.

More importantly the FM transmitter is weak as a kitten. I literally have to have the sirius unit on top of the radio to work. That goes for my real stereo and for boomboxes I have tried. This is a big weakness for me as it is supposed to be a "here to everywhere" unit, but only if it sits on top of your current stereo, and that stereo is within sattelite antenna distance to a window. I borrowed an older audiovox and tried it in the same place and the FM transmitter worked across the whole room and into the next.

Overall a nice unit, but the weak FM transmitter kills it for me.

I love my sirius radio, i really really do. I do not listen to regular radio anymore. The setup of this radio was simple, and works well in my Tahoe. The only issue i have is the car kit has broken and i've had it less than a year. I need to replace it but i cannot locate a place to buy just the mounting kit sans radio. I had it professionally installed into my SUV so that i don't have the wires all over the place, and it looks great, and i don't experience the sound issues the others that posted here did.

Want Kenwood System-H2EC Sirius Here2Everywhere Satellite Radio Tuner with Car Docking Kit Discount?

The Kenwood System-H2EC is a nice little unit however I've experienced plenty of short comings.

1) The FM modulator can't even broadcast it's way out of a paper bag. I pick up so many SIRIUS signals around me now on FM (thank-you Mr Stern) I don't even think I need a unit in the car.

2) The cigarette lighter plug is too big for the socket and pops out constantly.

3) The unit throws out so much heat you have to leave it out in the open or use it as a handwarmer.

4) The buttons are so touchy, the slightest touch will activate one.

5) Programming with the scrolling is a pain in the ....

6) The window mount is so big, I'd swear you could crack the windshield if you don't release the suction cup properly.

After having been a subscriber to Sirius for 3 years and having used 3 different tuners in my cars, this one is the best I've used. I live in the West and sometimes travel 10 to 15 hours at a time, through cities and remote areas. I've had zero trouble with reception in all areas, even with a luggage carrier on the car. The receiver is mounted on the windshield at eye level and is easy to read, compared to the others I've had (my Audiovox lasted 12 months and 1 day just in time for no warranty coverage). The FM modulator works fine in the car but I've always used my iRock FM modulator in the house which broadcasts just great. I also have the other Kenwood "Here2Anywhere" plug and play and, while it works fine, it does not have the FM modulator and the screen is very small, the latter making it harder to glance at the screen and read what it says while you're on the road. That and the fact that it isn't as easy to mount in the car causes me to rate the H2EC much higher.

This is Slim mount that works great with the Nexus 7. I didn't have a problem with the mount holding my device securely in place in my week of using it before I wrote this.

My suggestion to anyone who buys this is chose a flat surface on the dash not the windshield.
