This is one of the most cheaply constructed items I have ever seen. I have a slightly smaller solar panel that I use to keep a deer feeder charged throughout the winters – it cost $9 from Cabellas and better wires and connectors than this unit.Does it work? I don't know yet – I did put it on a multi meter and it does produce 12 – 16v with mostly indirect light through a window with blinds. Don't even think that you are going to attach the alligator clips supplied to a car battery, not gonna happen. They are not made to attach to anything larger than a spring top battery.
The "instruction" sheet that came with the unit is amazingly incoherent, I'm attaching it below. Buy another unit…

Installation:
