I bought these because of that connector in the middle thinking it was a smart idea. It makes it very easy to connect to the cars batteries without worrying about sparks.I used them a couple of times in the summer months and they worked as expected, but seemed a bit shorter than other cables I have used.
Then winter came along and I needed them again. I took them out of their handy storage bag and started to unroll them only to watch the insulation start cracking.
Overall I liked the design and that compact packaging, but they are simply not safe after the insulation cracks from cold weather.
