These used to be sold in Brookstone and I bought one around 2000. Had it nine years and battery finally died and couldn't find another. Then to my amazement, I saw one with a BMW lable and purchased four. Didn't want to run out again. It's got a beep that tells you when accurate pressure is read; this isn't mentioned in ad copy for some reason but it's a great feature. Durable and long lasting. Love it.Real BMW Part -Even though it doesn't have the BMW "spinning propeller" logo, this indeed seems to be a BMW product (I looked up the part number at a BMW dealer). It is made in China, but the quality is definitely on par with what I'd expect from BMW. Case is plastic but very sturdy.Fast and Accurate -Operation is so simple (device is auto on / auto off)... just pop it on the tire, wait for it to beep and read the pressure. I've checked it against my vehicle TPM system and other gauges and it is precise to within a tenth or better of PSI. Accuracy as defined by repeatable measurements is **extraordinary** -spot on to the nearest tenth of PSI every time.
Repeatable Measurements -Part of the reason why the repeatability is so good is that, unlike almost every other tire gauge I've owned, this one slips on and off so easily there's almost no air loss... yet it makes a fast positive seal for the reading.
Hitting Exact PSI -The digital readout is great for hitting the target PSI -something that in the case of two of our vehicles is pretty much "encouraged" by the TPM alert systems. It's also great for motorcycles where spot-on pressure is important for handling/cornering.
Motorcycles and Scoots Ok -The head does have a low profile bubble on top measuring about 3/4" high, but because it's extended out from the body of the gauge with a triangular-shaped 'bridge', it is easy to get on those often hard-to-access motorcycle tires where dual discs and buzzsaw style wheels interfere and scooter tires where the swingarm/CVT pod and plastic body parts get in the way.
Fast + Easy = No Hassle Use -Because of how easily this pops on/off and how quickly it gets to a stable reading (less than a second before the beep, usually), I do think you'll tend to use it over any other gauge you might have, and maybe use it a bit more often. The 'small' hassles - obviously bad readings, too much air loss necessitating refill, taking two readings to make sure first one was right -all of these go away when you get a fast reading that you can count on being accurate the first time/every time.
Wish I could give it an extra half star for being just the right tool for the task -simply no more and no less than what's needed.
Buy BMW Electronic Tire Pressure Gauge Now
Works as advertised but it doesn't look like an original BMW part. It does NOT bear the BMW LOGO, only a poorly printed "BMW" as shown in the photo. Looks like an unauthorized OEM made by AccuTire for a BMW dealer. Feels solid though.Read Best Reviews of BMW Electronic Tire Pressure Gauge Here
Product seems to do a good job at reading the tire pressure. Was concerned about how you would be able to read the gauge when it is on the tire, but the gauge beeps when the pressure is read and displays after removing from the tire.I bought one of these 15 years ago from a JC Whitney catalog and it doesnt have BMW written anywhere on it. Good news, after 15 years it still works.
