To all intrested this is a bluetooth reciever meaning it will recieve music signals from bluetooth devices such as cell phones or tablets. You can then plug the cable onto any 3.5 mm input such as in your car reciever or use adapters and plug into a home stero. It does have good uses.

What it wont do is pair with bluetooth headsets. If you want to use it to transmite sound from a tv or mp3 player or any non bluetooth device it will not work. It only recieves bluetooth it will not transmit anything

no instructions came with my bluetooth dongle

I tried to pair by holding the power button on the dongle until it flashed blue and red, at the same time on the motorola hd10 I held the power button until it was steady blue which is the pairing mode. Then nothing happens.

Reading the other reviews, I knew that there was trouble syncing it with certain devices. So when tests showed I couldn't sync it with either of the Bluetooth headsets we have, I was frustrated, but not all that surprised. I went back to amazon to look for another brand to try instead.

In my searches, I found that there are similar devices which are receivers, allowing you to plug normal non-Bluetooth headphones in and receive Bluetooth audio. One looked very, very similar (TaoTronics BTI-005 Bluetooth Audio Dongle Receiver), and I remembered that when I'd opened the package for the item, there was a male-to-male coupler included. I had actually thought to myself, "Why is there a coupler in here...why would I plug headphones in to a transmitter?"

To test my suspicion, I plugged some old headphones into the coupler, then the device, and tried to pair it with my cell phone instead of a headset. Ta-da...it's a receiver. I double checked the package, and there's a sticker that clearly labels it a transmitter...must've been one of those occasional Amazon packaging mix-ups, first time it's happened to me.

I'll see if I can get the right version, or a different brand, and update my review.

P.S. For what it's worth, the receiver did work pretty well.

No problems here other than it doesn't remember devices very well... Most times I have to add it new which only takes a few seconds...

This Blue-tooth transmitter has worked flawlessly for me. It will automatically sync with other Blue-tooth receivers. I use a Sony Blue-tooth head phones that works perfectly. This device will make most any non Blue-tooth one way audio device transmit with Blue-tooth capabilities. Charge time for me has been between 2-3 hours and I can get 4-5 hours of use on a full charge. I would recommend this device to anyone that needs to add one way audio Blue-tooth to a non Blue-tooth device.
