works well, but rocker switch is set up for an ATV only, will not mount to the dash of my side-by-side. would be perfect if it had some kind of adaptor for this problem. very quiet while running. used an electrical wire shrinkwrap on the end of the rope to make it small enough to go through the drum, this made it a whole lot easier

Review will be for installation only...hopefully I will be able to give a better rating on actual product use...a mechanically inclined friend of mine helped with the installation...right from the get go...there were issues...very poorly laid out installation instructions...bolts supplied were barely adequate...info on installing synthetic rope were non existant....once completely installed..the winch is mounted securely on the machine's frame..having two operation switches is handy...remote cord connection mounted in glove box along with remote cord & handle...as mentioned review is for installation only..giving it a one star rating...hopefully the unit performs as advertised because I wouldn't want it to let me down in Utah's back country...winch works fine. Install instructions are messed up. Wire colors and location are wrong. Seems to be a good product resonably priced. Shipped in good time.I can't comment on the longevity of the unit, having just finished installing and testing, but everything went together as it should and I was, overall and considering the price, impressed with the quality of the items in the package with the winch...with two exceptions. The circuit breaker assembly is all metal with no stock way to bolt it to something solid (which usually means metallic), so the intended installation method appears to be to connect it to the hot wires and anchor it by tie-wrapping the wiring, with the breaker wrapped up in foam or tape so that it doesn't short on something metallic. That was unacceptable to me, so I used an inexpensive plastic encased circuit breaker intended for bolted mounting to metal (you can buy them on Amazon). The installation manual is also poorly written, but if you understand how a solenoid works the installation is straightforward. I've read some reviews that said that the winch was "too complicated" to install. That really is not the case. A bit of reading on the web to learn how a solenoid works is required a solenoid is just an electrically operated switch. Learning that will allow the installer to jury-rig a fix in the field or to make any modifications to the Superwinch installation instructions that they want to incorporate (like in my case not installing the handlebar mounted rocker switch, wiring the winch such that it will operate without the ignition to the UTV being turned on, swapping two wires so that the winch turns in the correct direction when the handheld remote button IN button is pushed). The other option to greatly simplify the required wiring is to purchase a winch with an integrated solenoid, like the WARN 93700 3700 DC Winch basically it just requires a positive and negative wire from the battery to the winch. Unfortunately, at least at the time of the writing of this review there were no winches to be found anywhere of about the size of the Terra 45, with synthetic line and an integrated solenoid.
