Kenwood KCA-iP200 iPod connecting cable for USB-equipped Kenwood stereos

Kenwood KCA-iP200 iPod connecting cable for USB-equipped Kenwood stereos
  • Adds iPod connection and control to select 2007-up Kenwood CD receivers ! for all docking iPods
  • Receiver must have USB and auxiliary inputs
  • Charges iPod battery when driving

This product does work as it should, I have used it both on my iPhone and my iPod. The cord is very long so if you wanted to run it to the back seat of your car I am sure it would make it (though it wont make it to a third row SUV). This cable charges both your iPhone and iPod too. It does not let you control your iPod or iPhone, everything has to be done with the receiver controls. That makes it a pain because going one song at a time to find the one you want takes FOREVER! Best advice is to unplug your iPhone or iPod, find the song u want, push play then plug it back in.

It does just what it's supposed to do, connect the ipod to the Kenwood head unit...no problems at all...so far

I needed this cable for my new stereo for my car. I had it installed and it works great, no problem. If you dont mind having the cord then it should be no problem for you.

I bought this to use with a GM factory radio aux input and a typical cigarette to USB power adapter. Obviously not a Kenwood radio and I didn't expect to be able to control the ipod from the GM radio.

I hoped to be able to charge the iphone/ipod and use the audio output into the GM radio aux input.

Cons:

-Does NOT charge either ipod nano or iphone :( Tested with the car cigarette lighter adapter and on my PC

-iPhone pops up an error that the cable is not compatible. It continues to work fine after clearing the popup though

Pros:

-Nice long cable with right angle audio connector so the cable is flush with dash

-Audio quality sounds great compared to the FM transmitters and other AUX cables I have tried

I'll keep using it as is and revert back to a seperate charger when needed. Hopefully I can find a similar cable someday that works with iPhone (no errors) and charges it.

The product description is severely lacking. Except for the audio port, this product does not work with my iPod Touch and iPod Classic 6G. If you just want the audio to play through the car stereo system, get a 3.5mm audio cable for much less money.
