Buy New Key Shell Remote Case For Gm Gmc Chevy Keyless Entry No Chips Inside FCC ID: KOBLEAR1XT Now
I had my original GM fobs for 10 years before they deteriorated and broke. I've had this one for only a few weeks and they are breaking already. Looks like I will spend the additional money on the real GM fobs and have learned that you get what you pay for. I will say they looked and operated great for the first two weeks, the plastic is just not the same as the real deal.I bought this item because my LOCK and UNLOCK were pretty much worn away. I took the old rubber insert out of my old shell and replaced it with the new rubber insert from the new shell which, in my case fit perfectly. For those who don't really need the shell, the rubber insert works just fine in the old one.Case began to crack within a week of receiving it, Company sent out a replacement that lasted about 6 weeks befor it also began to crack. Recently ordered another one from another vendor.Possibility of failty batch from manufacture.
I have had two GM remotes on the same keychain with the same keys for many years and never had this problem, like I said, It may be a manufactures batch problem.I bought a couple of these cases to replace the worn out key fobs for my 2001 Tahoe. They look identical to the originals. It only took a coupe of minutes to pop the case open and move the electronics board to the new case. The hardest part was lining up the seal so I could snap the case shut. This took a little patience but the whole process only took a few minutes. The amazing part was the new key fobs worked even better than the originals. I used to have to press the buttons really hard to get the doors to lock or unlock. Now all I have to do is give the buttons a gentle push and they work. I think the quick cleaning job I did to the board before putting it into the case probably had something to do with this. Anyway they work like a charm, they look great and it was a breeze to make the switch. I highly recommend buying these if you are having problems with your old OEM fobs.
